Korra like many of her people firmly believed that the morning was evil maybe it was due to the fact that waterbenders drew their powers from the moon and the morning was when the moon receded but Korra had the sense that even if she was a non bender she would still hate it that said there were benefits to the morning when she was with Mako or more accurately in Mako's bed with him after a long night of passionate fucking. ''Yep sea noddle's and pickles my favorite.'' she said with a silly grin which made him laugh along with her. ''I Love you.'' he said giving her another kiss this time on her lips before heading into his bathroom for cold shower.
''I love you too'' she said before going off to the Airbenders island.
''Damn Bei Fong'' he though to himself just because she was made of stone and had no need for human relations didn't mean she had to force everyone else to suffer. ''Mako'' she called to him ''get into my office I've got some news for you and'' she said with a smirk ''you just might like it.''
''Unless it involves spending time with Korra I doubt it.'' he thought to himself.
Bei Fong's office was bare except for only the essentials which was fitting for the woman. Mako doubted she ever went home except to sleep and there was rumor around the station that she slept in a coffin under her desk. When he entered her office after knocking first of course there is parodical to follow even if you are summoned by the Iron Maiden of Republic City he saw to his surprise a real smile on Lin's face.
''Mako I called you in today because We are forming a new unit on the force and I think you are one of the best candidates for a spot on it.'' NOW she had his attention it was rare indeed for Lin to give such praise to a 10 year vet now she was all but saying he was one of her best to trust him with a newly created position.
''Really Chief?'' '' Yes now follow me to the garage you'll be joining the others there.'' Mako had heard rumors of a new part of the force being created with the increase to the Police's budget the wake of the Equalist revolution. While it was not considered proper to ask Lin too many questions but his curiosity got the better of him he had to ask.
''Uh Chief if you don't mind me asking but what am I being assigned to?''
''The New Motorcycle Division.'' she answered with a hint of a smirk. Mako could not contain his excitement at this bit of new. Okay so maybe this was worth getting out of bed.
''Damn you Tenzin.'' Korra thought bitterly to herself the airbendering master was still instant on teaching her and lecturing her on airbender she as the avatar for Spirits sake she knew how to use it properly only Bumi seemed to not be giving him any shit and he couldn't bend.
''Korra I understand they you have been able to airbend for almost six months now but it takes years of practice, discipline,'' Korra just begin to ignore him after all she was the avatar she knew more than anyone alive what the proper use of her powers. She sure hoped her uncle didn't lecture her as much even though she hadn't seen him in years and was-
'''Korra please'' Her airbending master broke her thoughts. ''I understand your frustrating and''
"Come on Tenzin I used airbending to defeat and expose Amon and Aang restored my bending I think that's a good endorsement ." It was a low blow sure but it was one way that was guarantee to shut him up. Tenzin signed knowing her really had no way to Korra
''Please promise me that at the spirit festival you will at least learn more about the spirits.'' Korra rolled her eyes learning about spirits and keeping the peace between them and humans was the main job of the avatar so far and she thought she was doing a good job so far.
