"Hmm..." Rei hummed as he inspected the giant gate up and down. The whole thing was made of wood it seemed. He currently had nothing else to do so he was just waiting for the heads up for their start.
The other participants were either chatting among themselves or were hyping themselves up to get their blood hot.
"Hey um... my friend was just wondering." The voice of a girl called to him from behind. Turning back, Rei saw that she had orange hair with blue eyes and was in a blue tracksuit. Kendo Itsuka. "Are you the one that gave the speech at Minamoto?" She asked him as he finished turning around to face her.
"I am."
"Oh, well she wanted to thank you."
"For what?"
"The speech. It was very inspirational to her." She explained as she stepped aside to reveal a fairly tall girl, standing quite the distance away with white hair that covered her left eye. She was standing awkwardly with her hands held up forward, bending on the elbow. She was the one with the whole ghost girl aesthetic. Yanagi Reiko, if Rei remembered correctly.
"Huh, well much appreciated." He nodded as he waved to the Ghost girl slightly, causing her to yelp as she went to hide behind an object, away from his line of sight.
Rei was taken aback by her behaviour a bit and turned to the girl standing beside him. "Big fan?" He asked with a hint of nervousness.
"You can say that." She answered with a laugh, looking off towards the girl as well. She then turned back to Rei. "Kendo Itsuka." She held out a hand for him to shake.
"Omura Rei." He said as their hands shook.
"Yeah, I figured... You're quite popular around my neighbourhood." She said with a laugh as she pulled back her hand.
"Really?" He asked in interest and raised a brow.
"Of course. Anyway, you do you out there!" She said as she nudged his chest with a fist playfully before walking away.
"You too," Rei said to the girl with a nod. Then he turned to look back at the gate again.
Deciding to plan ahead slightly, he began to mumble to himself.
"Okay, I'll get a head start by rushing in as soon as the-" He stopped as the gate suddenly opened, though due to its massive size, it appeared to be slow. Rei squished himself through the small opening immediately. Making a heaving sound as he sucked in his gut.
"Okay, start!" The voice to Present Mic came from a tall white building, seemingly built as a viewing platform.
While the students were a bit confused about what to do. Rei had already put quite a bit of distance between him and the other examinees.
"Okay, this is it!" He said to rile himself up. This was the moment he had been waiting for, ever since he found out what world he had been reincarnated to. This was the moment he had been preparing for these past few years.
He had memorized every nook and cranny of the machines he had designed on his laptop. The only obstacle for him would be whether or not he could handle being under the pressure of combat.
As he was running through the fairly empty streets. A Two Pointer suddenly appeared out of seemingly nowhere. But it failed to catch Rei by surprise as he had felt its presence using his quirk for a while now. It aimed to fire its weapons at Rei as it turned them towards him.
"Oh no, you don't!" He blitzed the robot, closing the distance and reaching out his hand to touch the robot. As soon as he did, a wave of electricity ran through the Robot and it immediately fell apart into tiny little pieces.
But Rei took care to not damage anything vital as the dismantled parts of the robot floated in the air for a few moments, arcs of blue electricity running through each one. Then they began to change positions, clinging to Rei's body, one by one until he was completely covered in metal and robotic parts.
"That makes one." He stated as he began to open and close his fist with the mechanical one around the real one. The motors humming with power as he did so.
"This is actually, not that bad." He admitted to himself as he began running again. The improved robotic actuators in his legs, boosting him to run at inhumane speeds.
"I thought they would be soft, going from how easily the students destroyed it in the anime. But the material is actually fairly tough if you know what you're doing with it." He said as he continued running down the streets.
A Three Pointer came out from around the corner. Shooting out a wire from his left shoulder, he ran a current trough and disassembled the robot into floating pieces of metal parts before it even had the time to react.
"Now, about those 'secret' points." He said with a chuckle. He made his way to the various floating pieces of the dismantled three-pointer. He then formulated a machine of his design, willing the pieces to be positioned in such a way that they worked as a collective to achieve Mechanic Harmony.
He grinned as he was rather proud of that wording. The metal pieces spun around for a bit and formed into three separate machines. Three drones.
Their design was the main body from which three robot appendages protruded out. Four fans with four blades of length 15 cm.
The drones were designed to be able to lift and carry a load of approximately two tons individually. They were meant to seek out and rescue any participants that may have found themselves injured or in a tough spot.
He also formed a control pad, from which an Intelligent User Interface would guide the drones. The UI could also hack into the school's faux villain program, enabling it to see which students were in trouble from the cameras present on the robots themselves.
The computer was also protected by a force field he had designed by re-purposing holographic projection technology.
"You know what to do!" He instructed the program via a neural transmitter as he went on his merry way. The drones immediately flew away to their assigned tasks.
Rei continued running through the streets, dismantling any villains he could come across and repurposing their parts for his machines.
"Would you look at that..." Snipe commented as he looked at a display that showed the Golden Boy, running around in a heavy-duty power suit. It seemed to be just as, if not more advanced than the suits from the resident support hero, Power Loader. What's more, the boy made the damn thing out of pieces of the faux villain he had just destroyed.
"I think it's safe to say that his confidence was indeed, well-founded..." Midnight added as she looked on with interest.
"And did you see how fast he spurred into action? He was in the battle centre before Mic even blew the horn." Ectoplasm said, his voice told that he was genuinely impressed with the boy's performance.
"And those drones he made. What is their purpose...?" Power Loader ventured.
"My bet is, that he's going to use them to scout the arena." Vlad theorized.
In the shadows, far to the back of the room, a man with messy long hair watched on in silence.
"Get this damn thing off me!" A boy that looked like he was made of solid steel inside a building yelled to a fellow participant. He had been trapped under a fairly large slab of concrete. His quirk may have allowed him super hard skin, but it sure didn't grant him super strength.
"One moment!" The boy he was calling to was also preoccupied, with a faux villain. He had black spiky hair with a bandana wrapped around his forehead. His quirk allowed him to weld things together down to the atomic level, which proved to be rather useless right now to a three-pointer that could fire missiles.
"God, dammit!" Tetsutetsu cursed as he tried lifting the offending slab off of him again. Widening his eyes as he seemed to be able to. "Haha! In your face everyone, I am super strong!" His celebration was short-lived when a voice came out.
"Get out. Get out. Get out." It would order, robotically with an equally robotic voice. The steel boy did as he was told, although the confusion was present at the forefront of his mind.
"Huh?" He said, puzzled when he saw that the voice came from a drone of some sort. The drone dropped the concrete slab it was holding to the ground with a thud. When Tetsutetsu finally was able to saw the bot clearly, he realized that it bore the same colour scheme as the faux villains. "What's this?" He was even more confused now.
"Friendly. Friendly. Friendly." It repeatedly said in its robotic voice as it flew away through a hole in the building's roof.
He then turned back to the sound of an explosion ringing out. The three-pointer that was hustling them had been dealt with. And in its place, a bipedal bot of the same colour scheme was standing. The two-legged robot was fairly top-heavy, having several plates of armour on the front of its body, and had no head, as far as they could see. One look and anyone could figure out that its main mode of attack was to ram into its opponents.
"What are these things?" Awase asked his unofficial exam partner, hoping that he would be better informed than him.
"The hell if I know," Tetsutetsu said, not coming off as mean in his tone.
"You don't think, U.A. made some, 'rescue bots' to help the students did you?" Awase asked as the bot began to walk away, with a bounce in its steps.
Tetsutetsu just shrugged.
"What are those things?" A girl questioned, alarmed at the handful of bipedal robots that were attacking the faux villains.
"I don't remember seeing them in the presentation." A boy added.
"Friendly. Friendly. Friendly." They would say to them, as they marched on.
Most of the participants had seen about three types of robots in all. A flying drone that was helping the students trapped under rubble, or as a carrier of ones who were injured. A two-legged, 15 foot tall one, that was ramming into things. And one on tank threads, fitted with three Gatling Guns and a Missile launcher.
They had no idea what purpose they served, or why U.A. had built them in the first place.
They were all left very confused.
There was even a small rumour floating around that there was a participant in a Large Mech Suit, running around the Battle Center, leaving them questioning if it was even remotely true.
"Interesting... So his quirk does allow him to build robotics and machines on the fly." Power Loader said as he held his hand up to his chin, his interest had definitely been pulled by Omura. "Perhaps even during the midst combat?"
The nature of Omura's quirk was of special interest to the more technical ones in the Circle of Heroes.
"And he seems to be quite good at it already." Thirteen said as she looked up at his score.
"150 Points" The display read. These were from his villain points alone, and the number kept on climbing. Using robots he made from the parts of the faux villains he destroyed to accumulate even more points by having them scout around the Battle Center independently, covering a very large area at once was a genius strategy.
His rescue points were also bordering the hundred-point threshold at Ninety Five.
"That's a new record..." Cementos commented with a small laugh, tipping a figurative hat out to Omura. "And to think he actually created, what I could best describe as Rescue Bots to help other Participants in need." He added.
"Indeed, he shows great promise as a hero." Ectoplasm agreed with him, nodding accordingly before he shifted to look at another student.
Toshinori looked on with wide eyes. Rei was absolutely owning everything they threw at him in the physical, as well as the written where he literally got a score of five hundred out of five hundred.
This was indeed, a new record. It became clear to Toshinori why people referred to him as 'The Golden Boy'.
It also became clear to him that this boy was not only here to seek fame as a hero, rather he seemed to be applying to learn what the word 'Hero' truly meant. Those drones he made could only be explained by him trying to help everyone to the best of his abilities. A trait that true heroes always held prominently.
"In this Practical exam, the participants have not been informed of the number of villains or their locations." The principal began his monologue. "They have a limited amount of time in a very vast area. They have to draw the villains out to them." The principal then looked at one of the displays. "Of course, there are exceptions to this." The display showed a giant suit of armour, running around with a few robots following it.
"Information gathering ability to understand the situation before anyone else." He switched his gaze to a screen that displayed Mezo Shoji. "Mobility that can be used in many different ways." He looked to one that showed Iida. "Discernment to be able to stay calm in any situation." A screen of Aoyama. "And pure combat ability." And finally Bakugou.
"Of course, like before, a few exceptional individuals have already used a combination of all these things..." Nezu said as he looked at the screen that showed Rei again.
"These are the basic abilities needed to keep the peace in the streets, are turned into points in this test."
"This year's batch really does look promising." Midnight quietly exclaimed.
"Well, we can't know for sure yet." One said as he reached to a red button, and pressed it. "Their true test is still to come."
"All right! That makes it 165 Points. Rundown of ammunition... Personal arsenal: Two mini-guns, and Three Rocket Launcher." He made a rundown of the available weapons in his suit,
"Ammunition supply, let's see... have about two thousand 7.62 rounds, a couple 5.56's. And an entourage of short-ranged, ballistic-kinetic and... explosive missiles..." He gave a rundown of his ammunition supply too, most of them accumulated from looting Two and Three Pointers.
"Huh, I'd say that's enough to-" A prompt popped up on his heads-up display. It read: "Protocol Executioner: Active." in English.
Rei smiled to himself. "Time to see how much distraction this thing can cause." He said as he picked up his pace and ran even faster.
He had made sure to roam, mainly around the centre of the Battle Arena, as that was where the Zero Pointer was residing, being able to see the location of every single faux villain in his HUD. He had also discovered that it had been underground, and not in a building like he had previously assumed it to be.
The Entirety of the battle centre shook as the ground gave way in the middle.
From the smoke, a giant, metallic figure emerged.
"What the?!" A participant said in alarm. Losing his footing a bit as he stumbled about the roof of a collapsing building.
"Look! There!" A boy pointed in a direction. When the teenagers looked up, they were greeted by the sight of a giant of a robot, looking right back at them between two buildings.
"Huh, What the Hell is that thing!" One yelled in absolute terror.
Rei had made sure that he had as much backup in the form of his machines, as possible. Those who were either too far from trouble or near enough to him when the time came, he made sure to recall to his position immediately. Their goal, to buy as much time as possible for Rei to carry out a plan.
Rei knew that even with the full arsenal of his small army of robots. They were still no match for the zero-pointers unless they fired at specific weak points in the joints and actuators. So, he had come up with a different, more reliable plan.
The glass in the buildings cracked under the sheer weight the giant Zero Pointer was placing on the pavement below.
Rei stopped and aimed all the weapons on his suit, as well as the ones on the robot models he called 'Slavic Justice', to the Zero Pointer and fired.
Rapid sounds of gunfire rung out, hundreds of bullet cartridges bouncing as they hit the ground. Explosions peppered the Giant on every corner of his body, though it was clear that It would not have been enough. "Come on!" He grunted in mild frustration.
Rei clicked his tongue, he had secretly been hoping that the guns and missiles would prove too much for the Zero Pointer. But even as the Giant became hidden behind a thick wall of black smoke, it seemed far from collapsing to the ground out of the flurry proving to be too much for it to take.
The giant right hand of the Zero Pointer came out, leaving a trail from the cloud of black smoke, and began barreling down on Rei's position. Three Slavic Justices' as well as Rei's suit immediately fired Four Rockets towards the open palm of the colossal machine.
They hit their mark.
The force of the Rockets exploding all at once jerked the Big bot's hand back violently and Rei became slightly more joyous.
"Okay, let's do this!" He said, determinedly as the backside of his Mech opened up, spitting him out from behind. He bounced three times on his feet as he was launched back quite a distance. A drone then came up from behind and picked him up, making a beeline for the Zero Pointer.
"Oh my god-" Rei exclaimed as he looked down, seeing how high up he was going. He shook his head, "Focus, Focus!" he said to himself. He still had a trace of his Acrophobia left it seems.
His Drone carried him to the top of the Zero Pointer's large, flat head. Hovering around for a bit, it dropped Rei who landed with a squat after sliding for a bit as the Drone had dropped him while it was in motion.
With hands held to the ground, he closed his eyes, generating a current that attached him firmly to the metallic surface just in case his feet slipped. Vibrations resonated through the entire Colossal machine, courtesy of the rockets and bullets that peppered its front.
The bot hadn't notice Rei climbing on top of it. Busily, it swatted away and attempted to shield itself from the barrage of rockets and bullets that came from below.
"Focus..." Rei breathed in and out slowly, searching for something inside the machine. Going through thousands of wires and circuit boards every single second.
"There it is...!" He said with a smug smile as he willed a large flow of electric current to go through the machine. Almost immediately after, the mainframe of the Zero Pointer combusted and exploded into a fiery blaze on the inside.
The Giant machine suddenly stopped all its movements as the sound of metal creaking under incredible strain sounded out from it. It's eye dimmed and died out as it slowly dropped its held-out arms to its sides while it made a robotic hum that became lower and lower in pitch; like it was powering down.
"Two Minutes!" Present Mic's voice was faintly heard from the distance,
To the participants down below, it looked like the robot became frozen in place, not moving even an inch. Some of the more vigilant ones of the bunch, suspected that this was a deception tactic, a trap; that the moment they let their guard down, it would attack.
Others walked forth with bated steps, cautiously inspecting the machine,
"What the?" A participant said in confusion as he came out from his cover.
"It just... stopped...?" A boy with extremely long fingernails as claws on his hands voiced his confusion.
"What is even going on anymore?" A boy with red arms asked in irritation.
Then the sound of an explosion rang out from somewhere. It had come all the way from Battle Center B. But due to how much of a power the blow delivered, they heard it as far away as Battle Center G.
"Now what could that be?!" The boy asked again.
"Wow..." was the general reaction of the teachers in the observation room.
"Impressive, being able to take down such a foe. I wonder how that quirk of his functions." Power Loader said with great interest again.
"He has somehow, neutralized the greatest threat while keeping the damages to the surrounding environment to a minimum." The Mouse Principal said eagerly as he looked around. "Perhaps, some of the teachers, as well as the students, have something to learn from him." He said cheerfully as he eyed the 'messy' heroes. Specifically, Toshinori; who coughed up a few drops of blood.
"Of course... let's not forget the one who's done the same." Nezu gestured to a screen with a cheerful voice. "Although, his is..."
The teachers turned to look where he was pointing.
"Whew!" Rei said as he got up from his crouch and straightened his back, holding his waist with his hands. The drone still hovering by, just in case he lost his footing and fell.
"That was easy," He said cheerfully to himself, followed by a delighted laugh.
But his laughter stopped short when a resounding boom rang out, coming from the direction of his left shoulder.
He turned and saw that it came from Battle Center B. The giant body of the Zero Pointer was slowly arching back from a punch coming from a boy with Green hair.
Rei smiled at the sight. "Good, I didn't mess that up." He muttered under his breath, he was in the clear on whether or not he had done something to alter such an important event.
He then turned around the Battle Center, several of his drones were carrying injured participants off to the safety of the entrance. He then turned to the drone by his side.
"Do you mind?" He asked the drone, whereupon it made beeping sounds as if it actually responded to his question. It hovered closer to him before it picked him up and made to carriy him down to the ground slowly.
"One minute!" Present Mic's voice rang out from the white tower again,
Rei just landed gently on the ground, his feet giving out the smallest sounds as he made land, and began calmly walking to the entrance as well. He was confident in his Score of 165 on Villain Points alone, and his small army of robots were made to converge on his position one by one on his way out.
"Did he do that?" One girl asked someone beside her as she pointed to the unmoving body of the Zero Pointer.
"I think he did..." She answered, sounding like she almost couldn't believe it.
"Hold on, That's The Golden Boy right?"
"No- no way, I thought it was just a rumour." A boy said admiringly with wide eyes following Rei as he passed him.
Rei grinned to himself. It was a shit-eating grin. Truth be told, he had always wanted to be in this exact position ever since he watched the series. Fabricating frankly broken and embarrassing characters for it. But hey, a boy could dream, right?
He slowed down for a moment in his stride and looked up to the sky. He really was here now, wasn't he? He smiled and began walking at a normal speed again. Who knew life would ever have turned out like this.
When he arrived at the entrance. He saw that several teenagers were huddled up against one another. Brought here by his drones.
He saw that some of them suffered relatively minor injuries such as a sprained ankle. While some even had broken arms and legs.
Rei looked at them for a moment before he thought of what to do. But before he could do anything. U.A.'s own rescue bots arrived at the scene. Loading the various injured on their stretchers and carrying them off.
One drone dropped off the final participant, who Rei recognized as Koji Kota, the Animal Whisperer. Rei's eyes then widened out of a realization that struck him. There was a lot of chance that he was going to take this guy's place in Class 1-A.
He had no idea how he managed to get through in the cannon, but he was pretty sure the ability to speak to animals would not be too useful against trigger-happy robots, in an urban setting.
"I'm... sorry." He said under his breath. Looking sympathetically at the rocky student.
"So we have Omura Rei, as the top on the scoreboard. Leading by a fairly large margin of 296 Points in total. With 165 Villain Points and 131 Rescue Points." Midnight said, her tone actually holding discipline and professionalism.
"Such is to be expected when dealing with such a participant..." Cementos commented.
"Below him, we have the Enigmatic bomber applying from Aldera Junior High. Bakugou Katsuki, with a total score of 80, purely from Villain Points."
"For a solo applicant, unlike Omura, his score is quite impressive." Snipe said with a nod.
"Taking third place, we have Kirishima Ejiro. Scoring a total of 75 points, with 39 being Villain Points and 36 being Rescue points." Midnight finished listing out the top three and their score. The top ten themselves were displayed on a screen. Their corresponding points being shown as well.
"This is going to be an interesting year," Ectoplasm said with his signature grin.
Then a mechanical sliding door suddenly slit opened with a heavy whoosh.
"Heyo! I'm back." Present Mic announced as he entered the room. "What do you say about this year's- Woah!" He exclaimed, bringing his glasses down to look on wide-eyed when he saw Rei's score.
"So... How did it go?" Takashi asked as he ate from his dinner on the table.
Everyone was at the table, except for their mother who had not come home yet.
"Yeah, did you do well?" Hitoshi asked with interest.
"I think, I did good," Rei answered with a content smile.
"Good, good? Or, Good~, good?" Takashi asked from across the table.
"Good~, good," Rei answered as he flashed his brother an expression that looked like he was taking some LSDs, that or he was one of those wise old sages that lived on top of mountains.
Takashi looked on for a moment and just shrugged.
Rei looked up from his meal towards his brother. The stump was still present on his right arm which made him wince.
The plan was to gain access to the support department's vast array of resources that were at U.A. to build the artificial arm.
He had also refined the design of the prosthetic. Now utilizing mainly Carbon Fiber instead of Titanium for the material's overall optimal strength to weight ratio.
"Anyway, how long until your letter arrives?" Takashi asked as he looked up again.
"I think, about a week."
"Hmm, seven days." Takashi cheerfully singsonged as he looked on towards the ocean from their kitchen window.
"Hmm?" Rei hummed as he straightened his back and looked up from his work towards his door, he was sensing a vehicle in their driveway. An unfamiliar one.
He got up from his seat and walked out of his room, through the hallway, down the stairs, and finally at the front door. He could see a young woman with light green hair dressed in a blue uniform and a cap, busily stuffing some paper in their mail. After she was done, she walked back to her scooter, an electric one as Rei could tell, and drove off.
"Oh, it's the letter." He said cheerfully as he realized what it was. He opened the door and power walked to the main post.
Prying the hatch open, he took a look inside and saw that it was indeed, a letter from U.A., the seal present on the front told as much.
"Aw, that's nice." He said with a grin as he took it out and taking a whiff of the paper. Never in his life had he ever thought he would get the weeaboo's equivalent to a letter from Hogwarts. Lightly jogging on the way back to his house, he excitedly pulled the door open and went inside.
"What was it?" Saki asked from the entrance to the kitchen when she saw him enter the house.
Rei saw that she was using a white towel to wipe her hands.
"It's a letter, from U.A."
"Really?" Her voice held surprise and excitement. She began making her way over to his seat on the living room couch, near the coffee table.
"Yup." He began undoing the seal, opening the letter, and reaching inside. Saki was watching on with anticipation. After a while of fishing inside, he pulled out a black circular device of some sort.
Saki was puzzled. "A... speaker?" She turned to him in confusion.
"Hold on, wait for it." He reassured her as he placed the device on the coffee table. Then suddenly a projection, or more accurately, a hologram popped up from the device.
"I am here as a projection!" The exaggeratedly jovial voice of the Number one Hero cut through the mostly quiet house, accompanied by a heroic music score.
"All might!?" Saki asked in alarm. "What's he doing here?"
Rei remained silent and astute as he began to get comfortable on the couch,
"I'm sure you must be wondering what I was doing at the beach when you saw me. Or what I was even doing in your town." He began.
"Wait, you met All Might at the beach? Why didn't you tell me?" Saki turned her head to Rei, wondering why he had never told her about this chance encounter.
"You... never asked." It was an unreasonable defence.
"To cut to the chase, I came here to teach at U.A." He explained and announced with his voice making it sound like it was a grand reveal of some sort, to which it was, it really was, to Saki.
"He's... teaching at U.A.?" Saki looked back up to the projection, still mildly disapproving at Rei's actions of not telling her about his time at the beach. "Wait, if you get through, that means All Might's gonna be your teacher!" She said in realization and excitement and attempted to hug Rei in celebration.
Rei gave her a smile and a nod. Getting to know her through the years, he had found out that Saki was a small fangirl towards All Might.
"Young Omura- What?" He looked to the side, a man was ushering him to get on with it as he had for a certain Green haired participant. "Again? But I need to- I'm taking up too much space on the disks? Fine, Fine!" He straightened his back and firmly nodded. Rei couldn't help but wonder who that mystery man could have been. The Number One Hero sure seemed comfortable about discussing something with Midoriya through a recording which was no doubt filmed in a studio.
Rei shrugged and straightened his back as well.
"Firstly, you had your father recall your Recommendation Letter, opting instead to take the Entrance Exams personally. Most of the staff here at U.A. Thought you were being arrogant, but you proved us wrong." He held up a remote and pointed it towards a display that was behind him. The screen flickered to live and displayed Rei's score. His Total, his Villain points, and his Rescue points, being 296, 165 and 131 respectively.
"Wha-... is that? How?" Saki turned to the boy again, disbelief evident in her voice.
Rei grinned out of satisfaction. Taking pride in the fact that be had absolutely murked a certain spiky blond-haired hot head.
"That's quite the achievement for someone at such a young age." He coughed as he turned to face the camera. "Especially considering it is more than mine when I took the exam myself." He stated.
Rei waved off the compliment. He was absolutely certain that the Symbol of Peace could have totally gotten more than 300 points if he had really tried.
"Of course, let's not forget something important." He pressed the remote again, this time the screen changed to show several students being carried off across the sky on things that looked like one of those toy drones, only much bigger. "You're probably wondering what those rescue points mean." He began.
Saki looked up at the projection again. "Yeah... what are those?" She referred mainly to the drones and the new point category.
"Their the points we give to participants who perform heroic acts in the exam, whether intentional or unintentional." He explained. "As you can see, the number of participants you saved from harm speaks for itself. No one had ever done anything of this scale before, so the teachers have awarded you with 134 rescue points, a new record." He stated proudly.
"Suffice it to say, you got through." He then raised both his hands and announced proudly: "Welcome! To your Hero Academia!"
"You... did that?" Saki pointed to the screen that was behind All Might. She looked unsure.
"Yup," Rei confirmed with a smug and playfully innocent shrug.
"Wow..." Her face morphed into a proud smile. "As expected of my little Golden-"
"And while I am sure you must be excited to have me as your teacher, just know that I too am excited to have you as my student" He gave a two-finger salute and the projection seemed like it was supposed to end, "See you, at U.A.!"
The heroic music cut off, and All Might was seen holding the pose for a few more seconds in silence.
A few moments later, he dropped his hands to his side and looked to someone behind the camera,
"How many more to these-?" The projection finally ended, but it left on a premature note with the sudden cut.
Rei mimicked the gesture All Might had made, although he was slightly less uptight about it, laughing almost in a playful nature.
"So... what's for dinner?" Rei asked in a mundane tone and turned to Saki.
Saki gave him a frown. "What's the meaning of this? Aren't you the least bit excited?!" She asked him with a glare. Here he was pretending that he didn't just receive an acceptance letter from the top hero school in Japan.
"I am," He shrugged and made a dry face, "I'm just wondering what's for dinner." He explained in a flat tone.
"Huh-?" She stopped herself from saying any more, and closed her eyes, "Fried-onion rings."
"What?" It was Rei's turn to look confused.
"Smelly fried-onion rings." She repeated.
"You're... joking right?" Rei asked with a nervous voice.
Saki just proceeded to walk into the kitchen without saying a word.
"Saki, please tell me you're joking!" Rei got up and ran into the kitchen as well, screaming in distress about how much he despised her smelly fried-onion rings.
"Haha hah! It's here!" A boy with spiky blond hair excitedly said as he went inside his room, ignoring the bellowing cries of his mother from the ground floor of the house, reprimanding him about how inconsiderate he was being that he wanted to receive his acceptance letter alone.
He carried with him on his way, a letter from U.A., whereby he would see for himself if he made it to number one.
Sitting down on a bean bag, he placed the projector on a small table and waited. After a moment, the projector came alive.
"I am here as a projection!" Came the booming voice of a man with blond hair that was mostly combed back, save for two protruding horn-like appendages sticking out on the front.
"All Might?" He asked himself in confusion at the first few moments, looking up and down the small screen that was projected in the air. He was clearly taken by surprise of the hero's unexpected appearance, and his spangly outfit proved for a most impressive sight.
"Now, I'm sure you must be wondering what I am doing on your acceptance letter for U.A., it's because I'm going to be a teacher there!" He explained with a passion, lifting his chin high as if with pride.
"No... no way..." He muttered in disbelief, a small smile unknowingly tugging on the edges of his lips.
"Now, enough fooling around, I'm sure you must be eager to see your results." He said as he turned around and pointed a remote at a display.
The screen flickered for a moment before displaying his score.
"You did well on the written test, as well as receiving 80 Points on the practical exam from 80 Villain Points and... no rescue points. Which is... less than thrilling for a would-be hero in training. BUT! It is more than enough to place you in the top positions." He explained.
"Damn right I did." He said with a smug grin, of course, he made the top position.
"You did well young man, placing second in the entrance exams is no easy feat!" All Might congratulated, holding out his arms with his palms held open in a gesture that he was patting him on the shoulder, figuratively.
Bakugou on the other hand, blinked in confusion. 'Second place?' Did he hear him right?
"Congratulations, Young Bakugou. Welcome to your Hero Academia at U.A.!" The recording ended when he finished that sentence.
"Are you... Fucking kidding me!?" The boy yelled in anger, getting up from his seat with a gravelly grunt. Who had placed first? When he finds out who did, he swore he was going to crush them!
"I'll find you..." He said ominously.
