"Nezu, please. I'm sorry, but I can't handle two of them!" Power Loader practically begged the Principal as he followed closely behind his tail, walking with frustrating steps. "Hatsume alone was already proving to be too much of a Thorn, I won't live to deal with both of them! I'll be left with nothing every day I go home to my-"
"My, my... You speak such Vulgral words about your students, Maijima-Sama." The Principal remarked playfully with a heartfelt laugh, idly inspecting a large collection of documents in his hand as they walked through the hallways lined with tall glass walls to the outside.
"I-… I apologize. But please, Omura's Intellect far surpasses my own, maybe even your's too. There's nothing I can teach him!" They reached a sliding door that led into the Principal's office. Power Loader slid the door open for Nezu, which the mouse walked through with a nod to acknowledge that he was thankful for the gesture.
"Well, perhaps not in engineering…" Nezu started instead, his voice never failing to carry its ever-present charm.
"Omura's still young, Maijima-Sama, he may not need you for his further education in Robotics or Science. But there's a lot you can teach him about being a functional Hero in our society." The mouse took a seat on a chair beside the windows, "You have been doing hero work for... a long time now."
Power Loader looked at the Principal with a look; out of the realization, standing there awkwardly with his hands dropping to his sides.
"Besides, he's not even there, in your Workshop, to learn about engineering from you at all..." Nezu revealed suddenly, causing Power Loader to turn up with a confused look. Taking to ask what the Principal meant, Power Loader lifted a hand, but Nezu stopped him.
"You can learn much about a person from the way they carry themselves." He explained with a laugh that the slightly confused Power Loader did not share.
"You- you can…?" Power Loader turned to the Principal with an almost disbelieving look. The Principal didn't lose his face, simply nodding with a calm sureness,
"Then… what exactly do you know about him?"
The Principal took up his cup of tea and brought it to his mouth, and took a sip before he lowered it back down to its small saucer, the china making a small ring.
"I know enough…"
Nezu looked down from his office window, towards the Classrooms where he could see the students busy with their works for the day from his seat.
One, in particular, was Omura; who was sitting by the window with himself on his slightly larger desk than the others. Writing with two pencils in each hand, on the two pages of two separate books. As far as Nezu could see, the things he wrote down were in stark contrast to one another.
One being drafts of Robotics and designs sketched on the paper with charcoal lines, while the other was writings about Biology.
But, the boy's expression, as he was engrossed in his work; was the purest image of Content, as far as Nezu cared to inspect, prompting for the Mouse Principal to can't help but share the boy's smile.
Omura truly was a curious case...
"I AM-" An exaggeratedly cheery and booming voice of a large man was heard echoing through the halls of U.A.
Everyone in the room heard it, they recognized who it belonged to. How could they not? It was the voice of the Greatest Hero of All Time;
The Man that was so celebrated in his profession as a Hero; he had been named the Symbol of Peace.
"Coming Through This Door Like a Normal Person!" A large and imposing tower of a Man; leaned into the room from the entrance hanging from the frame of the door as soon as he slid it open.
The man had two large and stern, horn-like protrusions of his long Blond hair. The rest of it was combed to the back of his head, it was like a mullet, only cool, somehow…
He wore a Bright Red, Spandex-like suit with Blue skin-tight pants, and a Giant White cape was attached to his shoulders.
To all the students of Class 1A, this was the day they had been waiting for. Combat Class, with All Might as their supervisor.
Rei sat at his table, at the very back corner of the class, and watched his classmates' faces lit up with glee when they saw who had barged in so suddenly.
Kirishima pumped a fist out of how excited he was, as Tsuyu looked on with a flat expression on her face,
"That's his costume from the Silver age, isn't it?" She asked no one in particular,
Denki smiled as well, as did Jirou, and even Tokoyami; although the avian was a bit more reserved, looking down with his eyes closed with faint traces of his smile tugging on his beak.
"… That's the power of All Might for you…" He said with a small laugh to himself as he looked down and shook his head from side to side before he turned back to his table; where a multitude of his experimental gear was still present.
"It's style is so... different compared to today. My hairs are standing on end," Ojiro added, still in awe at All Might's old suit.
With vague memories of what the man's appearance might have entailed, he began packing up his things into his bag.
All Might's class was supposed to happen, the first period after the first-morning break. So he had used that free time to dabble a bit with the Sciences.
Some may have called it obsessive, perhaps it was, but what is there in better uses of his of time for him?
"Good Morning!" All Might marched up to the teacher's podium in an exaggerated manner and turned to the students. "Do you know, what time it is?"
All Might held his hands to his hips and gave them a steadfast expression.
Many faces lit up even more in excitement when they remembered what his class was supposed to be.
Hero Training was why most of the students in Class 1-A enrolled in the first place,
"This is the day I teach you Hero Basic Training! It is a subject where you train in different ways to learn the basics of becoming a hero. This is the subject you'll be taking the most units in," He lifted his left leg and turned to his right, stomping to the side into a deep crouch as he stretched his arms above his head.
"Without any more dally, let's get to it! This," Shifting his arms, he pulled out a card from somewhere on his person and showed it to the class while striking a pose. "is what we'll be doing today-!" He held a card that read 'Battle' in his hand. "Combat Training!"
This prompted Bakugou on the very front of the rows to shout suddenly,
"Combat!" He yelled with a maniacal look in his eyes, slamming his hands down on his table.
Whis prompted for Midoriya to meekly mutter out a word of worry,
"Training..." He said with a small yelp, looking fearfully at the blond boy in front of him.
All Might smirked, "And to go with that, are these!" He turned and pointed towards the far wall present on the side of the teacher's platform.
Four blue linings in the walls came forth, each carrying with it five separate metal boxes labelled from '1' to '19'
"And young Omura," All Might suddenly called for the boy's attention who perked up, "What's this about the support department that said something about your costume being held for pickup, from the South Wing of the building?"
"Ah, yes, that..." Rei spoke out in remembrance, getting up from his seat, he walk to the Classroom's back door.
"Uh, w- what's the deal with him?" Sato was the first to ask the question on everyone's minds.
Almost all of them turned back to look at him with confused but intrigued stares, but he continued walking as he gave them an answer. Opening the sliding door, he walked out.
"Like many things in my life, I like to make my own things-" his declaration ended prematurely as the backdoor slid shut behind him before he could finish.
A silence hung in the classroom for a brief moment, as they processed what he had said.
"Well- of course, he did..." Kirishima was the first one to speak, chuckling as his admiration towards Omura rose again.
"Omura-San..." Midoriya looked at the backdoor to the classroom in silence for a while, his already set image of Omura's imposing status among his peers was made all the more clearer to him.
"The rest of you," All Might called back for their attention after a brief moment of silence, "Suit up and head to Battle Ground Beta. Remember, do your best as this class is probably what you applied here for!" He encouraged and, seemingly in the blink of an eye, was gone from the classroom leaving behind a gust of wind that swept the whole class as the front entrance door slid open.
Most of the ones in the class, most prominently Kirishima and Izuku were most left breathless at how fast the Number One Hero was and took some time to calm themselves before they got up to pick up their suits and head to the locker room to change.
On their way to the locker room, they couldn't help but wonder what exactly Omura had conjured up for his suit. They knew what he was capable of without even having access to definite resources, so their standards were pretty high.
All Might was standing just outside of a large entrance that led to Battle Ground Beta, his hands balled into fists while they rested on his hips.
He may now have appeared like it, but he was pondering something deeply to himself.
'Omura...' He said to himself in thought, the boy had done much to distinguish himself among the others in the school even before he enrolled.
He was the single most successful engineer and scientist in history. Well over four thousand patents under his name at the age of fifteen, not too shy from the current record holder; an inventor by the name of Shunpei Yamazaki who had five thousand patients under his own name.
But his inventions were the result of a lifetime of experimentations and research, that gave rise to many great machines while Omura had done the same in about the timescale; five times smaller.
He had no idea why he had any desire to pursue a career as a Hero, already being such an accomplished scientist should already cement one's legacy in the world... But apparently, it wasn't enough for Omura.
Omura was a scientist, of that, there was no doubt. But to Toshinori... to him, Toshinori likes to think he sees a hero, like Midoriya. Not in the business for the fame, or the money; but in it to help the people entirely.
Toshinori could also recall Omura's contributions in various medical fields, such as prosthetics, micro-bot induced complete cellular regenerations of tissue damages and artificial implants, like the world's first completely synthetic human heart. Many things to provide for people who suffered the loss of something major from their body.
Which further illustrated that; Omura surely was going to be a good hero.
Toshinori heard a clang, a resonating sound of metal hitting metal so he looked up towards the dark entrance, squinting his eyes a bit as he looked into the dark walkway.
He saw a figure, slowly approaching the end of the giant entrance, coming out from the dark. It was a tall and bulky set of metal armour whose head reached the lower parts of his chest, as far as All Might could tell from this distance. Small, blue lights shined from the small openings that dotted the chest piece with symmetry.
The mask was a bit pointy on the nose bridge, the forehead jutting out sharply overshadowing the sharp glowing blue eyes. The metal jut ran from the brows to the nose before it went down onto the chin in a straight line.
The faceplate had no mouth and nose, the only discernable features being those glowing Prussian blue eyes.
The face was silvery-metallic in colour and the surrounding armour around the head and neck was a deeper shade. The neckpiece reached over to the shoulders, separating from the bulky shoulder pieces as it did in the armour's joints.
It looked heavy and crude, a first for Omura who had seemed to always favour robust and elegant designs for his machinery.
Though All Might could not see it from his spot, a very intricate construction ran up the back of the armour in the middle, its resemblance being not too dissimilar from a human spine, only smoother and hammered down; made from solid Platinum-Titanium, electroplated with Titanium Carbide to be reinforced even further.
This held Omura's back quite strongly, the construction built to harden in certain spots when applied to chaotic stress to protect his spine.
Adaptation ran along nicely with technology, and Omura tried to implement this idea as best he can. Plus it had the benefit of relieving his spine from further contortion, that moment during the quirk apprehension test was not a fond memory.
The rest of the armour was coloured the same way as the headpiece, albeit doused with light smudges of haphazardly painted, royal blue coloured spots on the grey titanium sheets.
It approached alone, with heavy steps leaving the tunnel ringing. Once it came into the light, All Might saw it did indeed reach the lower parts of his chest, which would make it well over six feet in height.
"Young Omura," He acknowledged with a laugh after he confirmed who it was behind that deep metal frown, "Where are your classmates?"
"They'll be here," His voice was a bit dissonant and seemed to be coming from a speaker stationed on the suit, "Your thoughts?" Omura held his arms apart and looked down at his body.
His sudden request caused All Might to take a pause due to how mundane his tone towards him seemed to be. But he cleared his throat and looked Omura up and down again,
His suit was metal, that much All Might noticed. The rough layers of blue paint was a bit odd, they seemed to have been haphazardly smudged on by someone while they were in a hurry.
"It seems-... functional..." He said while nervously coughing as he found Rei's suit to be fairly underwhelming considering his capabilities.
"It... well, I suppose it looks bad," Rei interrupted while he inspected his gauntlet piece, "I just didn't have enough of the time I would have wanted to properly polish the edges of the paint job..."
"Really? May I ask what troubled you?" All Might was a tiny bit sceptical that Rei couldn't find the proper time to finish his costume as he saw the recordings of him, making complex and giant suits on the fly.
"It was a girl," Rei responded while releasing a tired sigh, "and as it turns out, I am really good at tutoring, it seems,"
"A- a girl...?" All Might was taken aback quite a bit when he heard Rei state his reason,
"Dropping all that for now," He waved his arms about, and the actuators in the suit whined with the movement in his arms, "Did you get my messages?" He suddenly asked in a hopeful tone, as he turned up to face a clueless looking expression.
"Your... messages?" All Mgiht's pose loosened and he dropped his arms to his sides, looking down at his student with a deep contemplating frown,
"You... didn't..." Rei cleared his throat as he looked back down at the ground, "That's bad, that's... very bad." He hissed and sighed through his mouth behind his steel mask, and brought his right hand up to hold his head.
"Young Omura, what messages?" All Might bend forward to inspect him more clearly, taking a small concern in the state Omura seemed to be in, "If you are talking about the school's website, I'm afraid I was not notified of any e-mails coming from you-"
"It's fine," Omura looked back up again, and chuckled as joyfully as he could, "It's not the end of the world." He reassured a very confused Symbol of Peace by softly patting All Might's right shoulder.
"We'll just face it together then..." He finished with a slightly shaky smile.
This gesture prompted All Might to become even more confused as to what he meant by the message he referred to and how at ease he was with him.
Granted, this was not the first they had met. But, is a one time acquaintance at a beach really enough to warrant for Omura's easy behaviour with him? Especially considering he was the top hero in the world, and all.
Then they heard the footsteps approach, and they both looked towards the entrance to see the others.
Rei smiled, although it was more of a grin. All Might, less so, but a smile nonetheless, his attention periodically shifted back to Omura but he did his best to hide it.
Then, into the sunlight they stepped out, garbed in their fresh combat attire.
"Young Omura, if you will..." All Might cleared his throat for the boy, who turned back to look at him curiously. The Symbol of Peace flicked his head upward slightly with his signature grin, a gesture for Omura to join the group of his classmates.
"Right," Omura nodded and turned back to walk up to them, his boots creating fairly quiet, but heavy clangs of metal against the asphalt.
The ones in the group looked up to see that Rei had not only arrived before them but was in a new suit, different from the one he used in Aizawa's test.
"Omura-Kun!" Ochaco called out first, waiving one hand wildly in the air.
"Holy shit- That's cool... very manly..." Kirishima couldn't help but exclaim wildly as he looked Omura's costume up and down.
The Golden boy's already imposing stature and height above most of them were amplified by the heavy metal plates. His obviously heavy and rough steps were quite frankly, intimidating to hear for most of them.
"Hello there," He greeted lightly as he approached, very opposite in tone to the physical image he presented himself in.
"You All Look," They heard the voice of their teacher and looked towards him, and saw that he was looking down at the ground, seemingly in deep thought, "Like Real Heroes!" All Might suddenly exclaimed from his spot in front of the group.
He brought down his hand to his mouth and cleared his throat, an attempt made to deflect his sudden outburst, and change the air that hung into a more serious one.
"Take this at heart; From now on, you are all Heroes in Training!" His grin deepened as he looked at the mostly nervous expressions on their faces, "Now, shall we get started?"
All Might turned around, and his cape made a woosh in the wind. But before he did anything further, he heard the lone running footsteps of someone echoing from the dark entrance.
All the Students and All Might turned back to see Midoriya running through the tall metal hallways.
After a while of seeing him run, Izuku Midoriya emerged out in a comically designed, leaf green suit with small metal fittings, and bright red sneakers.
Most of the students acknowledged his arrival, while All Might blinked a couple of times.
Then he looked to the side and held in a laugh and a cough, mumbling something about Midoriya's costume under his hitched breath.
"Oh, Deku-Kun!" Uraraka smiled brightly when she saw her friend,
"Uraraka-San!" Midoriya's composure broke into a jittery mess when he saw her in her costume that left almost nothing to the imagination.
"That looks so cool, very down to earth..." She commented as she approached him. "I really should have written down exactly what I wanted..." She rubbed the back of her head idly as she looked to the side, "Mine ended up being a Skintight Bodysuit. Not really my style..."
Midoriya meanwhile was trying his best to not get too flustered, and Mineta beside him nodded approvingly while he mumbled; "I love this place,"
Rei took to comment something as well, but Mineta's sudden and shameless proclamation brought with it an abrupt halt in his tempo, causing him to do that thing where you release some breath from your nose instead of a full laugh while he looked down at the ground and shook his head from side to side.
The group shifted, as Iida and Midoriya walked up to the front. Rei stayed in the middle, just to the left side next to Kirishima.
"Psst, hey," Rei heard Kirishima call for his attention and looked towards him, "I know you're like, really smart and powerful, but a word of warning..." He began ominously while he looked towards a particular blonde bomber.
Rei tilted his head slightly at this and waited for him to go on,
"I know this is a... 'Combat' class of sorts, but I'd be careful if you were to face Bakugou," He turned back to look at Rei unsurely, who stared back at him through his emotionless metal mask.
"Why...?"
"Just a feeling, I heard him angrily mumble something about killing you and Midoriya whenever he gets the chance in the Locker Room... so," He rubbed the back of his head while he contemplated how inappropriate some of Bakugou's comments were, "Good luck about that,"
Rei could slightly make out that Bakugou was giving him a deep frown from his spot at the edge of the group from the corner of his vision.
"Oh, well..." Rei lifted his head to give the bomber a look, which caused him to look towards their teacher when their eyes briefly met, "I'll try not to give him that chance, yes?" He said reassuringly.
"Yeah, I really hope you will,"
All Might nodded satisfyingly and turned to walk up to the two stools that held different balls labelled with the different letters of the English alphabet.
"Now that you're all ready-"
"A question sir?" Iida quickly interrupted as he raised a hand in his own suit of metal armour, prompting his classmates to turn towards him as he asked his question. "This is the same place as our entrance exams. Are we to take mock battles in an urban setting again?"
"No," All Might announced as he turned back and held out two fingers towards them, "I'll be taking you ahead two steps!"
He stood straight and held his hands open towards his side, "As you know, fights between heroes and villains usually take place outside," He held out his right finger to gesture for their attention, "But if you take a look at the total numbers, the truly worst ones appear indoors at a higher rate."
"In this society filled with heroes, truly intelligent villains hide in its shadows!" He finished while he held up a fist to his face.
He turned back once again and marched up to the two stools, "In this class, you'll be separated into groups of two teams of heroes or villains, and fight 2-on-2 indoor battles."
"Without basic training first?" Tsuyu asked flatly with a finger held to her face.
"This is a real battle to understand those basics! Everyone knows the best way to learn is under intense, unprecedented pressure!" He answered with a fist held up, but suddenly flicked his hands to point towards them, "However, the key this time is that there's no robot you can just beat up,"
"How will wins and losses be decided anyway?" Yaoyorozu asked up as she held her chin in contemplation.
"Can we beat our opponents to a pulp?" Bakugou budded in ominously,
"W-will the punishment for losing be expulsion like Sir Aizawa?" Uraraka held both her hands together for comfort from that grim happening.
"How shall we be split up?" Iida held up his hand for questioning again,
"Isn't my cape fabulous?" Aoyama asked for no reason at all as he showed off his star-spangled cape, his question being entirely unprompted by anyone.
All Might held a fist to his face again, and looked up towards the sky, taking deep breaths as he was clearly overwhelmed by the multitude of questions his students were hurling his way.
The students saw his state, and most were decent enough to give him time to at least breathe.
All Might released a breath before he cleared his throat, "Now then, for the moment, walk up and grab a piece of paper from this box. Just one will do." He gestured to a small box beside, with a circular hole in the top, "We'll start from there first!"
Some of the students scratched their heads in confusion first, then after a while, Iida was the first to walk up.
He reached into the box, and took out a strip of paper after rummaging around for a bit,
The paper read, 'E' and Iida looked up at All Might for an explanation,
"That, Young Iida is how you'll be split up into teams," He explained with a chuckle, "Everyone, line up and take your own!"
The teams were this,
Team A - Rei, Midoriya
Team B - Ururaka, Kirishima
Team C - Yaoyorozu, Shoji
Team D - Tsuyu, Sero
Team E - Bakugou, Hagakure
Team F - Mina, Mineta
Team G - Todoroki, Jirou
Team H - Iida, Kaminari
Team I - Tokotami, Sato
Team J - Aoyama, Ojiro
With that, the students found their assigned partners and walked up to maybe make some acquaintance with them.
"Hi there, we haven't properly met yet," The invisible girl walked up to Bakugou while she waved at him with one hand, She introduced herself as she held her hand up for him to shake, "My name's Hagakure Toru!"
"I don't care," Bakugou quickly shut her down, looking elsewhere while she huffed irritatedly while she waved her fists about, "I won't remember anyway,"
On the other side of the group, Sero walked up to the frog girl,
"So... Really long tongue?" Sero asked nervously as she looked at the strikingly smaller girl beside him.
"Ribbit-" She just nodded while awkwardly staring blankly ahead with her arms held forward, bent on the elbows.
Aoyama was pestering the boy with the giant tail,
"My cape's fabulous, is it not?!" Aoyama desperately asked as he held the star-spangled sparkling fabric up to the Ojiro's face, who shrunk slightly with every advance while he did his best to hold the french student back.
And in the very back of the chaotic group of students, a meek boy with green hair was tightly clutching his piece of paper, "Omura-San..." his voice was nervous, that could be easily told, nervous that he may very well disappoint such a prodigy of a student, or even pull down his performance during the test.
"I guess I'm with you then," Rei walked up to Mirodiya, and the boy turned to look at him when he heard the metal steps.
When he arrived, it was pretty clear that he towered over Midoriya and Rei looked down without bending forward,
"Try to keep up," Rei said in a light and high-spirited tone, and brought his hand up to shake Midoriya slightly on the shoulder, a small whirl of the actuators in his arms sounded out as he did.
"I'll... yes, I'll try..." Midoriya responded as firmly as he could while he held his gaze to the taller boy.
"Now then! The first to battle will be..." All Might suddenly called out again, and reached both his hands into separate boxes with holes on the top. After a moment of fishing around, he pulled out two balls, one coloured white, and the other blue, "Team B as Heroes, and Team C as Villians!"
Ochaco and Kirishima perked up when their team was called and smiled further when they were to be heroes, celebrated even by Ochaco who did a small dance.
Yaoyorozu and Shoji did the same, only the Creationist's mood dampened a small bit when they were announced to be the villains, and Shoji appeared to be indifferent.
"Here's the situation, the villains have hidden a nuclear bomb somewhere in a building and are guarding it. The job of the Heroes is to locate and find the device before the timer runs out. The heroes can win if they secure the bomb by touching it, or by capturing the villains by wrapping this capture tape around any of their body parts." All Might began to lay down the rules pacing back and forth with a still march,
"If the villain is unable to remove the capture tape before ten seconds, they will be labelled as 'captured' and will be taken out of the match," He stopped and turned towards them with a swivel of his feet,
"The job of the Villians is to prevent the heroes from succeeding, you can win by capturing both the heroes or by waiting for the timer of ten minutes to run out. I'll advise that, for the villains, if you want to win; take yourself in the mind of a villain. Think like one of them, behave like one of them, enter their mindset, this is key to the point of this class." He brought his hand up and rubbed his chin in thought, "Although I'd recon you don't actually have to talk like them, that'd be unnecessary. But, if it helps you to get into the mood; do so as you please!"
"Is that clear so far?" He surveyed his students and they nodded to him to show that they got it,
"Perfectly not confusing!" Denki yelled out enthusiastically from the back beside Iida who stood at firm attention,
"Very well! Team C, if you would come with me first," All Might said as he pulled Yaoyorozu and Shoji aside and walked up to the building beside them. "The rest of you save for Team B, head to the control room, I'll be right with you!"
Team A - Rei, Midoriya
Team B - Ochaco, Kirishima
Team C - Yaoyorozu, Shoji
Team D - Tsuyu, Sero
Team E - Bakugou, Hagakure
Team F - Mina, Mineta
Team G - Todoroki, Jirou
Team H - Iida, Kaminari
Team I - Tokotami, Sato
Team J - Aoyama, Ojiro
- A vs. I
- B vs. C
- D vs. H
- E vs. G
- F vs. J
"What's the plan?" Kirishima asked as he looked the building in front of them up and down, his hands held to his hips, "I'm not really good at coming up with these things..." He slumped and rubbed the back of his neck,
"Ehehe..." Uraraka did so as well, both being utterly inexperienced with planning team fights, especially up against such a formidable mind as Yaoyorozu's.
The Creationist was sure to conjure up some very elaborate traps or defence lines with her ability, as such, the two believed themselves to be out-matched completely in raw power and skill, the girl was a recommended student after all.
They could sneak around if it is possible, around the defences that Momo might have placed inside the building. Maybe they wouldn't see them coming if they used something like the back door?
Uraraka's thoughts to plan first headed to a green-haired boy, "What would Midoriya-Kun do...?" she thought out loud, prompting Kirishima to turn towards her curiously.
"You have a plan?" He asked before he sighed, "Oh thank god, I was afraid I was doomed to lose this battle..."
"I got it!" She suddenly yelled cupping her fist as he brought them together, "Kirishima-Kun, I'll float you up to the sides of the building,"
"Float up who now?" Kirishima turned his head towards the top of the building immediately and chuckled, it was a nervous chuckle.
"You peek through the windows and see as much as you can. alright?" She reached out her hand just shy of touching him.
Kirishima counted about five floors with windows on the building, and with a heavy sigh, he nodded.
"Begin!" All Might's booming voice through the speakers sounded for the beginning of the match, and Uraraka immediately shoved her hand into Kirishima's chest and activated her quirk.
Kirishima began to float, his body only as his costume was not flailing around like they were submerged into water.
He scaled the sides of the building, Uraraka from the ground doing her best to keep him weightless. He grabbed onto the single pipeline that ran up the side of the building right next to the windows.
He climbed up, doing his best to quell the weird feeling of being weightless as he arrived at the first window. Looking around, he saw no signs of activity, only drums and barrels and foldable ladders laying around the room.
Gazing through the doorway of the room, he saw a hallway of unfinished concrete walls not even properly paved with a layer.
He looked down from his spot towards Uraraka who had waited for his word and shook his head, indicating that the bomb wasn't on the floor.
Kirishima climbed up even further to the second-floor window, huffing as he pulled himself up though he was not that much tired.
He grabbed onto the pipeline with one hand and peeked in through the window, there he saw a few things a miss.
For one, the ladders and barrels were all arranged neatly and seemingly with a purpose, unlike the previous floor which had them placed haphazardly all over the place. This looked like clear signs of activity from their two classmates.
But most of all, Kirishima saw the bomb, planted firmly to the roof of the building by two wires holding it on its head and bottom.
"Huh... why would they-!" He realized what they were planning,
It seemed Yaoyorozu had Shoji hold the bomb on the ceiling of the room before she bolted it up, enabling someone like him to be completely unable to reach it. The ceiling was at least fifteen feet off the ground, and he couldn't reach that high, not even if he jumped.
This left their options to be to capture them or have him rely on Uraraka to touch the bomb by floating herself up to it. Therefore, if they were to take out Uraraka, their chance of losing would skyrocket.
"Damn, those... recommended students...!" He said with a fist held to his chest and closed his eyes out of frustration as well as admiration towards them.
"That's clever, clever moment..." Rei commented while nodding satisfyingly, his head was exposed and he held his helmet to his side in his arms.
Class 1-A watched their classmates take part in the mock battle,
"Very much so, young Omura. If they were to take out even just one, the chances of them winning are substantial. Such is the power of a cold and collective villain who knows what kind of fight they will be receiving!" All Might added and looked down with closed eyes in remembrance of those fateful encounters against such foes, "Take this to heart, young heroes-in-training, never fail to consider what a villain will be willing to do to get their way."
They all saw Kirishima hanging onto the pipeline as he gave Ochaco a thumbs up while looking down, a gesture to show that the bomb was on this floor to which she nodded accordingly with a delighted smile.
"And, in the heat of the moment, the heart has a nature to make even the smallest of mistakes," Tokoyami chimed in with his deep and brooding voice, "I wonder if Kirishima or the others have the proper mindset to respond accordingly in such situations..."
"Very true, young Tokoyami. In the heat of battle, it is always ideal to keep a clear head-"
Suddenly, they all saw Kirishima get blasted by something that broke the window. He was still holding onto the pipeline so he was made to slam onto the wall with his momentum. The blast split up into tiny droplets of water when it hit his chest, raining down onto the streets and Uraraka, who ducked her head from the droplets as well as the glass shards.
After the brief scuffle, it seemed Ururaka never let up on her quirk and Kirishima could still be seen floating while holding onto the pipeline.
They saw her look up and yell, perhaps things to exclaim her worry for her classmate.
"What the heck was that?!" Denki yelled first, staring intensely at the screen.
"It's just water, you dumbass..." Bakugou snarked with a disbelieving huff from his nose, not even bothering to give him a look.
"I- well, that's a crowd control device, I think... I saw some people use those during riots." Mineta, surprisingly stated with a fascinating curiosity, "That lady with the large boobs must have created some version of it in there..."
"It's weird to hear something like that coming from you..." Denki said with a bewildered expression after the crowd paused to look weirdly at the perverted student.
When they looked back to gaze at the screen once more, intently watching what Kirishima would do, he first bent inwards, caressing his chest with his left hand as his face scrunched up.
Midoriya watched on intently at the screen,
For Kirishima, it looked like he hadn't anticipated the attack, and had not hardened his midsection upon the impact of the water bolt.
But he seemed to be over the pain almost immediately, flashing Ururaka below a rather pained but considerate thumbs up.
She released a sigh; before she immediately took it back when she saw three large arms grab onto Kirishima's own right before they pulled him into the room, breaking away at the pipeline he was holding onto which fell to the streets.
"Holy crap, they're relentless!" Sero held up both his hands awkwardly up to his face as he didn't really know how to react to the whole situation.
"So they separate them early on... so Ururaka-San will have a harder time fighting alone with either Shoji or Yaoyorozu as her quirk's not very suited for direct combat, while both of their's are.." Midoriya assessed with his eyes bearing a worried expression.
"These are exactly the kind of fights when dealing with truly terrible villains, and this match is the exact aim of this class!"
"I'll say... I wonder how they're going to win this one..." Rei muttered to himself under his breath.
"Kirishima-Kun!" Uraraka yelled in shock as she looked at Kirishima get dragged in violently into the building. But before she could do anything about it, a piece of the pipeline Kirishima was holding onto fell down and almost hit her on the head.
She dodged, thankfully by slightly tilting her head to the side and stepping away towards the building.
She looked back up and saw the window Kirishima was dragged in.
Right now, she decided she would float up herself before a thought entered her head.
What if that blast of water came her way, it was probably the work of Yaoyorozu because, as far as she knew, Shoji couldn't blast jets of water at will, unless he was able to reshape his arms into a giant peni-
She shook her head and looked towards the building's ground entrance, which was a glass double door attaching into the building's lobby.
She ran inside the building's entrance and quickly saw a stairway leading up on the far end of the hall with her mind made up.
She rushed as fast as she could, hoping that Kirishima would have been able to fight it out two-on-one with the both of them before she could reach him to offer her assistance.
"Surrender hero!" Yaoyorozu yelled from her spot behind a few empty barrels, pointing her water blaster towards one of the building's support pillars on the corner of the room.
"Never!" A defiant voice yelled back and from the side of the pillar, the yeller threw a small rock towards the two villains which didn't even reach the villians.
"Then you will die trying to stop our evil plan!" Yaoyorozu tried to respond all serious, but she couldn't help but snort slightly at the whole situation.
She fired her gun again, and a blob of water rushed towards the support beam. When it hit, the water splashed away, its droplets creating a small and barely visible rainbow from the light that shined in from the windows.
"Yaoyorozu-San, the gravity girl is coming up the stairway," Shoji spoke from one of his arms that turned into a mouth, and Yaoyorozu clicked her tongue in response.
"... Very well. You know our plan, don't engage unless you absolutely have to!" She got up and ran to the far door at the edge of the room's walls, at the very corner. The main door to the room was very well guarded while this door, not so much.
Beyond the other side, the hallway was barely lit and the door was barely visible. So they gambled that Ururaka would not be able to find it first before she did the main door. Which, Yaoyorozu would distract her from the other door by acting like the big one behind her was the only entrance, fiercely guarding it against Ururaka with a couple of her water jets and traps.
She had connected the water jet devices to the building's main water tower at the roof, so she was really able to use as much water as she needed for it.
Yaoyorozu got out from the barely visible door and out into the dark hallway and began running across, towards the main entrance where three hallways converged onto one spot.
She arrived, jumping over the small barricades she erected around a nest where three water jets pointed in each direction, along with another gun of presently unknown function. A small aluminium box was inside the nest and she bent down to unlock it with two clicks, like a briefcase.
She opened it to reveal a set of eight flash grenades, a utility she was going to use in conjunction with a plan.
Yaoyorozu nodded satisfied and grabbed onto the water jet that pointed at the hallway leading to the stairway, aiming down the sights with her eyes.
She heard footsteps come up and round the corner, her hand coming out to open the door that led to the stairway.
Yaoyorozu squeezed the trigger and a stream of water rushed out from the barrel,
Uraraka came around and yelped as a water stream hit her in the belly as she rounded the corner, knocking out a breath as she retreated back inside the stairway immediately.
She saw the stream stop just as she went back inside the safety of the stairway, away from Yaoyorozu's sight.
She held her stomach and bent forward slightly, those water jets were no joke. Her midsection felt like it was burning on the spot around her belly button, and she was just exposed to the water stream for less than a second.
She was not sure she could take it for an extended period of time, her suit or even her skin might peel right off if she tried... She understood now, why Kirishima appeared to be so hurt by them.
"What do I do...?" She muttered worriedly as she looked around, her hand rubbing her belly gently while it throbbed in pain. "Think Ururaka, think!" She smacked her head with her palm and looked around worriedly, scanning the room for whatever she could use.
She heard something slam onto the ground, in the hallway so she looked to see what it was.
It was the aluminium stairway door, lying flat on the floor.
It seemed Yaoyorozu's gun held such force to blast a door off its hinges.
"That... that's it!" An idea popped up in her head, and she bent down to the ground and crawled over to the fallen door.
The door was felled in such a way that its bottom was just inside the stairway, enabling her to just touch it with her hand and activate her quirk.
Soon enough, the door floated up but Ururaka made it to just hover slightly above the ground, hoping for it to go undetected by Yaoyorozu from the other side.
She pulled it towards herself and lifted it slightly so that she could reach for the handle.
"J-just... a little closer-" She reached from across her body and managed to grab a hold of the door's handle.
Just then, a continuous stream of water began hitting the door's surface again, making it slam into the empty door frame and jerked Ururaka's hand on the handle up violently.
"Ouch! Ouch ouch ouch..." She rubbed her elbow with her face filled with discomfort, "Alright, let's do this!"
She pushed through the pain and lifted the door further up and got under it, turning her body so that her left shoulder pushed on the door while her left hand was on the handle, her right hand pushing along as well.
The water stream was relentless, and the terrible sound of metal breaking away ringed within her skull that was planted firmly on the door's surface.
She released defiant breaths as she pushed onward, planting her feet into the ground and walking with a low centre of gravity.
She made it so that she held the door slightly upwards at an angle so that the force of the stream was not taken in full, redirected upwards to make it easier for herself.
She let out a laugh while she pushed, laughter directed towards the ground as she was just happy they could put up a fight at least to the two,
But she wondered, 'Could we win this?'
"Oh- gah!" Kirishima cried out while he was slammed into the wall of the building once again after being pulled back.
Shoji was holding him up, feet dangling above the ground with his three arms, while the other three covered his head and his body, protected from Kirishima's hardened fists.
"Come on then, come on!" Kirishima smiled because, despite all his efforts, Shoji had yet to hurt him, "This can't be the best you can do!"
Shoji did not respond. He couldn't, all his arms were in use, so he pulled back Kirishima and slammed him into the wall once more.
This was a stalemate, none of them could do anything to hurt the other, so what Shoji was really doing now was buying time for Yaoyorozu to return,
"You should really stop dude if this is the best you can do, you can't-" he was pulled once more and got slammed into the wall again, "-hurt me-!" pulled back, and slammed again.
"They seem to be getting along..." Rei commented with a laugh while he looked amusingly at how both of them were not getting any traction with both their efforts.
"Kirishima-Kun can't seriously hurt him, and he's completely outclassed in physical strength. And Shoji-san can't hurt him either as long as Kirishima-Kun uses his hardening." Midoriya assessed as well while holding his chin, standing beside Omura.
"Let's see who bends first," Omura added with a nod, "They can't do this all day..."
"One of them has to give out, it is a battle of will!" All Might declared looked around the control room, to the screen that showed Ururaka and Yaoyorozu's performance and pointed towards it for them to look as well, "And please, try to be resourceful with the environment, if you can!"
When they shifted their attention to another screen, they saw how Ururaka was using an aluminium door as a shield against Yaoyorozu's blasts, walking slowly towards her. Her pace was nothing but a crawl, but she was closing the distance.
"Shame... if it were yours truly, I would have just blasted those accursed water guns into nothing more than scraps," Aoyama chimed in with a hand masking his face while he struck a flamboyant pose.
Everyone ignored him.
Uraraka strained while she pushed on against the stream,
Being powerful enough to knock a door off its hinges, the force they brought with them was like the concentrated force of a fairly large waterfall.
But for a brief moment, the stream stopped and she stumbled in her steps forward due to it.
She did her best to capture her stance, and after a brief moment of adjusting was able to.
Something hit her shield and Ochaco looked up. It sounded like something metal and she heard a ring echo across the suddenly quiet hallway from afar.
She glanced behind her and saw something land, spinning sideways on the ground, and before she had a chance to contemplate what it was, it exploded into a bright flash of yellow lights and guttural sounds of ringing.
She yelped and her grip on the door's handle loosened a bit.
Soon enough, the sound of pressurised air releasing was heard and two metal balls dragging behind them a strip of fabric coloured red.
They came around and enveloped the door shield, along with Uraraka and the two metal balls met each other and wrapped into a knot on Uraraka's back.
Dazed and confused, Uraraka felt the restraint around her body with her ears ringing and her eyes unable to see. She tried to push away, away at the restraint by extending her arms, but she was unable to go any more than her present position.
"Uraraka-San-!" Midoriya gasped when the flash grenade exploded behind the gravity girl, the sparks and flash enveloping parts of her feet on the ground while the flash shined brightly from the surveillance cameras.
"Was that a flash grenade!?" Denki was looking around for an answer, "Where did she get that?"
"She made it, with her quirk." A boy with white and red hair stated from the far back.
"But isn't it like, really complicated?" He ripped his head while his eyes turned into a clearly intimidating expression.
"It is, yes," Omura turned back to face them, "The construction's fairly basic, but as far as the materials used, that was a pyrotechnic metal-oxidant mix of titanium and magnesium coupled with an oxidizer called potassium nitrate." He looked back to the screen, "You could tell she used titanium and not aluminium from the sparks."
"The metal body has large round cut-outs to hold the shape, while still allowing for the flash and bang to go through while avoiding hazardous fragmentation. The trigger is a mix of-" He went on and on about the mechanisms of the flash-bang while his classmates just turned their attention back towards the screens.
"I have to say though... he really knows a lot about... stuff," Sero whispered to the frog girl beside him, who gave him a blank stare,
"I think he has to know all these things, to compete with the rest of us, ribbit-" She added with a finger held to her face.
"Well, if you put it that way..." Sero turned back to look at the babbling sight of Omura, "It's really... really commendable..." He looked down to the ground while releasing a chuckle, and Tsuyu turned towards Omura as well, her brows turning into a contemplative frown when she saw the boy.
Uraraka's senses were coming back to her, and she was starting to be able to see again.
She shook her head, still a bit dazed and wobbly but she could see that she was in some kind of capture tape.
"Yosh-!" Unable to extend her arms anymore, she tried to push through as hard as she could, but the knot behind her, nor the tape showed any signs that they would bend to her. "Come on, snap-!"
She let out a frustrated breath and relaxed the muscles and in her arms and on accident, bent towards her door shield, whereby the tape around her loosened a bit.
"Huh-? Right!" Her eyes widened in response and she went as close to the door as she could, the type harmlessly fell to the ground and she was free.
She looked to the ground and celebrated with a laugh, cut short when she heard the sound of Yaoyorozu's mechanism firing again.
This time she ducked down low, close to the ground, and the capture tape projectile wrapped around the door's middle, the metal balls creating a loud knock as it tied around the door.
"Five Minutes!" All Might's voice boomed from a speaker somewhere, signalling that half of the time for the match was over.
"You won't catch me twice!" She grunted, and the door floated off the ground again. "Push, push, push!" she chanted every step of the way,
Yaoyorozu saw this, so she reached for the box of stun-grenades again and pulled out one.
"Come at me!" Kirishima yelled in excitement, completely into the moment of his fight with Shoji.
Shoji wiped away a few droplets of sweat from his cheeks while his breathing increased in its pace, his chest heaving up and down for much-needed oxygen.
They had been going at it for about three minutes and Shoji was the first to give out, and the moment he did, the hardening student capitalised on it immediately with a very well placed cross to Shoji's right temple.
After a brutal exchange, where Shoji was forced on the defence multiple times, he was now pushed into a corner, his back against the double doors of the bomb room.
"You're winded, aren't you?" Kirishima laughed with his breathing a bit shaky as well, "I'm not," He denied while straightening his back as best he could.
Shoji made to walk forward, bringing his feet in front of the other, but he lost his balance and stumbled back instead.
"Now, It's time to do what all manly people would do," Kirishima suddenly declared while looking straight towards Shoji's eyes, "It's to open the door for the lady!"
He broke into a sprint, bringing his arms to his front in a cross-guard and hardening every inch of his upper body first.
Shoji's eyes widened, Kirishima was going to tackle him for apparently no reason, save for his statement about 'gentlemanly duties' and was rushing towards him.
But from the corner of his eye, Shoji spotted he was standing in front of the double doors that led into the bomb room. Instantly he knew what Kirishima was up to, but it was too late, he didn't fix his staggered stance in time to stop him.
Kirishima jumped before the very moment their bodies would collide, and hardened his legs as well, crashing into Shoji with his entire weight behind him.
Hardening his body before a large impact proved to be more effective than just hardening the tips, as when he hit whatever he was going to hit, all the mass in his body was transferred much more effectively than if he were loose in the joints.
Shoji, for all his strength, stood no chance, being taken along with Kirishima as they both crashed into the doorway, which caved inwards from their weight and momentum before the lock on the door broke entirely,
Yaoyorozu grunted as she reached over to the aluminium box, grabbing a stun-grenade.
She took it in her hands and pulled the pin, dropping it to the ground. She looked up to the girl carrying the door steadily towards her and reached over the barricade.
But before she could throw, two figures came crashing through the doorway behind her, knocking her to the ground.
"Yeah!" Kirishima's voice cut through the confusion and Uraraka heard it,
"Door's open, come on, come on!" he called towards her from a crouch on top of the collapsed form of Shoji on the ground, frantically swinging his arms back and forth,
Yaoyorozu, who was forced onto the ground stirred from her position and she lifted her head off the ground and shook it as she was a bit rattled by the sudden intrusion.
Her vision cleared and she saw that, just right away from her face, maybe about five inches; the active flash-bang was spinning on the floor.
With no time to get up and move away, parts of her face lit up on the eyes and the ears into a static-like pattern of white, blue and pink, where a large earmuff and welding visor appeared on her head just as the sparks came.
"Gough!" Kirishima yelpt in alarm when a large bang echoed through the empty hallway.
The three of them, Shoji, Kirishima and Yaoyorozu were all left incapacitated from the flash, the boys being left with ringing ears and hazy eyes.
Uraraka was thankfully still quite a distance away, and while her ears did still ring from the bang, she was left relatively fine.
"Kirishima-Kun!" She called out for her teammate's name to make sure he was okay,
No response,
She peeked from the side of her shield to see all three of them lying on the floor, groaning as they seemed to be slowly creeping around without their senses to them.
But behind their collapsed bodies was a rather large doorway, she saw the bomb in the room, strung up to the ceiling with two metal wires.
"I- right!" She reasoned that now was the best chance they had of winning, so she dropped the door shield and began running towards the entrance.
Momo grunted and pried off the visor and earmuff from her head, and as soon as she did, she heard rapid footsteps approaching them.
She turned left, just in time to see a blur float over them, and she immediately turned her vision to her right, seeing Uraraka stick a landing inside the bomb room, sliding across the floor a bit.
"Huh? No... no..." She tried to lift herself up, grunting desperately, but her legs and body were aching so much she was unable to properly move, at least not in time.
She managed to lift herself off the ground with a strain, stumbling in her steps she walked towards the gravity girl that was preparing to jump.
Bringing her hands forward, they started to glow and she released a breath to focus.
But before she could conjure anything with her quirk, she was pulled from her ankles and was thus felled forward, almost hitting her face to the ground if not for her bringing her arms forward in time.
Kirishima had grabbed onto Yaoyorozu's feet as soon as he regained his senses, although he was unaware of Momo's attempt to stop Uraraka, he had simply grabbed onto her leg because he thought she was up to something.
"Here I go!" Uraraka nodded, and held her hands together, activating her quirk and jumping.
Soon, she floated upwards and reached the bomb, grazing it with a swipe sideways.
"Yes!" She celebrated with a bright smile, holding her hands outstretched, she rocked them up and down with her eyes closed in delight.
"They actually did it," Omura was the first to comment, nodding with a
"The match is settled, the Heroes win!" All Might bent over to the control booth and pressed a button. A mic extended from a spot and he spoke into it, "Rescue bots, roll in!"
"That last part was intense..." Sero rubbed the back of his neck and looked around for someone to share his thoughts with,
"You could say that again, all the flashes were a bit disorienting," Denki looked down and shook his head with his eyes closed.
"Very unpleasant noises too..." Jirou added, bringing up a hand to caress her ear a bit.
"We shall discuss this match further, when the participants have returned," All Might declared as he turned back to face them with his grin ever-present. "Until then, teams E and G, I suggest you hype yourselves up, you'll be the ones going for the next match!"
Hagakure shrunk a bit in her stance, while Bakugou looked up from his spot beside her. Although faint, a small grin made its way to his face, the prospect of fighting someone being very pleasing to him.
Better yet, that someone was the son of the No. 2 Hero, Endeavour.
Katsuki had no idea what his feelings were towards that white and red-haired boy with the scar over his left eye. Always sticking to the shadows of the class, never talking with anyone, almost like he thought he was better than everyone.
Well, it seemed like he would have to teach him a thing or two about respect.
Todoroki looked on at the largest screen that displayed their teams, him and that earphone jack girl, against the invisible one and the ass.
Despite appearances and attitude, Todoroki knew the bomber was a lot more fight-smart than his looks would have you believe. He was one he was most concerned about for their fight.
The invisible girl, on the other hand, he supposed he could take care of her rather easily.
Omura watched onwards at the scene, two of the most volatile students in the class, to clash head-to-head with one another. It was a bit hard to imagine the building as standing once the match was over between the two of them.
"Hey, Midoriya,"
"Hm?" the green-haired boy turned towards him curiously,
"Does he scare you?" Rei pointed towards Bakurou inconspicuously,
"I- yes, he does a little bit yeah..." his posture became a bit jittery, and he rubbed his hands behind his neck.
"A little bit?" Rei couldn't help but notice Midoriya try to hide his nervousness when talking about the bomber.
He just laughed sheepishly in response to being called out,
"Well, honestly," Rei turned up and looked towards the boy with half red, half white hair instead with a nervous and empty laugh, "he scares me more..."
I ended up with this team selection randomly by drawing their faces on paper cards, and arranging them face down into groups of two. Then assigning them all team letters, and writing the letters from A- J on paper cards before arranging those letters face down into groups of two again.
This part took quite a bit longer than I expected to write, I thought it would have been a breeze.
Some of you have started to make requests for pairings, and to be perfectly honest, I don't think I'm qualified to write romance.
But if it's what you want, I can manage but, don't expect a miracle.
This story has a very unusual Follow : Review ratio, and don't get me wrong, it seems like a good thing. It's like there's little to critique about the story so that's nice to see.
Thank you for reading this chapter,
And I'll see you at the next one,
The next match is Bakugou and Hagakure vs Todoroki and Jirou, I think that's an interesting selection.
I'm not a very reactive person, so I had a lot of trouble writing the reactions of the class to the battles. And even then, I think they're still terrible so I ask for help from the readers,
Write a few reactions in the reviews if you would, only together can we craft a proper read.
Fix: I've fixed the team selection, it was Sato that was supposed to be with Tokoyami. Their name's are a bit similar so I messed their arrangement up, I am so sorry.
