Chapter 1
"This is your captain speaking. We have entered some turbulence. Should me minor, please stay seated until the light goes off." Zoe took a deep breath as she fastened her seat belt. "Great." She thought to herself. She was on her way to Las Vegas. Surprise bachelor and bachelorette party for Anna Beth and George. She wanted to say no when Lemon called demanding she go but she knew no excuse would be good enough.
She also knew this would be her first time to see Wade in 2 years. They didn't exactly end on the best of terms. After college, Zoe really didn't keep in touch with anyone but the occasional phone calls from Anna Beth and Lemon. She decided when she moved to South Carolina to start fresh it was for the best she didn't keep old acquaintances. It never stopped his memory from popping up multiple times a week. What he was doing? How he was doing? And more questions. She knew she couldn't reach out to him. It wasn't her time to try, and he wasn't making any effort. It was probably time the young love died.
" Alright ladies and gentlemen, we will start making the descend into Las Vegas. Thank you for flying with Passion airlines. As always, it was my pleasure." Zoe snapped out of her daydreams. She knew what she had to do. Keep her distance, this is Anna Beths weekend. Besides, she had been dating Conner for a while now. Surly it would be getting serious. She gathered her bags from baggage claim and made her way to her waiting Uber.
When she arrived to the hotel, the last person she wanted to see was walking out the door. On his arm, a gorgeous brunette. Zoe froze. " breathe Zoe, breathe." She told herself. Wade slowed his pace when his eyes locked with another familiar brunette from his past. He smiled softly, and then his eyes turned to ice. He shifted the brunt the on his arm to his arm to block his view of Zoe and walked away like she was a complete stranger. And just like that he has made her crumble to pieces again.
