"Thanks for humoring this idea of mine man." TME said when he looks at Atomsk as he and Atomsk walked into a room with many files on a table like a detective would see.
"No problem. Was intrigued when you told me the plot of the story." Atomsk said.
"Thanks…. To those who have NO idea about this based on the summary… this is inspired by the game AI the somnium files… a spike chunsoft game, the guys who made the Danganronpa series… if you want a real mind fuck with mysteries and don't want spoilers, leave now otherwise get ready for some bombshells if you are curious about the game… or games if you want to know about the Danganronpa series… to be honest the games were out for awhile so should know alot but AI the Somnium files… not so much… anyway just to let you all know while there maybe lemons here or there, well… expect some surprises and twist endings… literally… AI the somnium files had multiple endings and I walked right into many… for example the main protag actually let everyone die thanks to the main villain and got body swapped into a different body that was injured big time… thankfully the protag didn't die but still morbid… and that is just ONE ending in a branch… to make things simple while this story will have twists and turns, and since this is a Sonic story, could use that branching path thing as an idea of sorts for maybe some time travel to avoid a true bad end while trying to use the info to close in on the killer in this story… point is this will be more mystery heavy than action packed and the main protag of this story may surprise you all for a number of reasons." TME said when he grins at the readers.
"Hehe and sorry folks, can't tell you since… I don't know who it is." Atomsk said while grinning.
"Yup… and in case you think its Emerald… you're partially right but not quite the way you may think… for now thats all I'm just giving, and this Emerald could be just in name only… or could mean more since again… this story will have twists and turns galore… who knows… for now its just a name for familiarity but two things… one… this Emerald is NOT OP nor will he be OP aside from maybe one ability key to the plot but he will have occasional help from others like Sonic and company who will do the real fighting and maybe with some help from some items he gets from Tails to help him… you know not get swiss cheesed by Robotnik's robotic minions… seriously with the firepower they have you would think he would conqur a country or two AWAY from station square first… well there was forces but I have yet to play that game fully so I'll ignore that a bit… for now got anything to say before we get into the story?" TME said while he looks at Atomsk.
"Hmmm… nah I say let's get this started!" Atomsk said.
"Yeah… everyone… welcome… to the Discord files." TME said with a grin as he snaps his fingers and the files open with hundreds of pages flying everywhere and as a page covered the screen, the page flew off to show a very different location...
Mobius/ Station Square/ ?
The scene was an apartment building in a decent part of station square as the camera focused on one particular room of the apartment… this room showed a Mobian male fox with deep red fur and he was laying on a bed, once he woke thanks to an alarm near him, he woke with a yawn and got up while rubbing his head.
"Hmmm… another day another ring." The Fox mobian said as he got up to get ready while opening his eyes to show a red eye and another a green eye but this one looked… cybernetic and a fememine voice echoes in his head?
"You know you really should wake earlier, you missed a few calls Emerald." The voice said as the fox man shrugs.
"Yeah yeah, I know Cynthia, you don't have to say it… chances are its from the chief calling me for a case isn't that right?" The fox man now known as Emerald said as he got ready to get in the shower after he went to do that as time froze for a moment to give an explination.
For those curious, the name Emerald is not because of him being a hero of Mobius, a dimensional drifter, or even anyone special… he was called Emerald because that was the only thing he had for him a couple years ago… 3 to be exact… a broken bracelet in a pocket of a ruined outfit he wore had the name Emerald on it… it was fixed up and on his right wrist but for all intents and purposes that some at a police department he worked with in a special division that will be explained later, this guy named Emerald may not even be really the owner of the bracelet but since he literally was a blank slate and had no other ways to identify him, Emerald was his name now for convenience sake… and as for the fememine voice… well… Emerald had a cybernetic eye made for him by a guy in an R&D department when he was missing his eye somehow and it could be the reason why he was missing his memories and it came with an AI who helped him with daily life and what not… pretty much giving him a friend only he could talk with when Cynthia was in his head… literally since she was his eye… she could come out and take a form that allowed mobility but most times was in Emerald's head and thanks to other parts in his head, he didn't even need to talk to communicate with Cynthia… and Cynthia was a name given to the AI by a the inventor of the eye to help give an easy name to use.
As Emerald finished up and was eating breakfast after he got some clothes on, his phone rang and Emerald sighs.
"Let me guess Cyn… Chief Cedric calling about a case again if you listened to the previous voice mails and he is pissed again?" Emerald said while he had a half lidded look on his face.
Cynthia chuckled.
"Indeed. Better call him back."
"Right… mind connecting the phone via bluetooth that you have so I can talk and not have to open my mouth?" Emerald asked and a moment after Cynthia did as requested, Emerald cringed at an irate voice in his head.
"Emerald! Where the fuck are you?! I called you like 5 times."
"Actually chief it was 3 to be exact, this is the third time." Cynthia said as the voice speaks again.
"Semantics Cynthia, Emerald we have a case and you're being called in to deal with it since its way out of the normality… a high ranked Mobian man was killed at Twinkle Park and its been shut down for now while we handle the clean up, you'll be working with a couple of people in the investigation department to find the killer after investigating the scene of the crime… and Cynthia, make sure Emerald keeps himself under control around these two, both are women and we don't want a sequel harassment suit." Cedric said making Emerald facepalm.
"Oh come on Chief, I only flirted with a couple women once and that was off duty, how was I supposed to know one of them was under cover for the FBI." Emerald thought as his thought was told to Cedric thanks to Cynthia allowing that to happen.
"Just be glad I got you out of that jam even though you owe me big time." Cedric said.
"Isn't that why I'm taking care of your daughter and stuff for free with the paycheck I get from cases and occasional cash from you to her for food, clothes and school supplies?... speaking of which, thanks to the time, I need to make sure Korra is ready for school, want me to run her by the Precinct to say hi to you and the others or drop her off at school first than run by the precinct to meet my teammates?" Emerald asked while he finished his breakfast and put the dishes in the sink.
"Hmmm… bring her by the Precinct first." Cedric said.
"Got it boss, see you later." Emerald said before he had Cynthia hang up on Cedric as Emerald gets up.
"Welp… ready to get sleeping beauty out of bed if she tries to sleep in and skip school?" Emerald said to Cynthia as he stretched while he and by proxy Cynthia looked at a door leading to a room that had Korra in it and Emerald made it sound like he was heading to a battlefield.
"I'm well prepared." Cynthia said before she was now wearing digital armor or at least that's what Emerald figured from the digital armor equip sounds in his head.
Emerald nods before he knocked on the door.
"Korra… today is a school day, time to get up and get ready for school, we will be swinging by your Dad's workplace and stuff." Emerald said as he waited for the door to open, currently Emerald was decent with a long sleeved shirt, long cargo pants and a trench coat on while he had a special gun in a holster in his coat while he wore some heavy looking steel toe boots and iconic mobian gloves.
After not getting a response, Emerald sighs before he enters.
"Chaos give me strength." Emerald muttered and entered a room furnished with things more for what boys would like with a few girlish things here and there showing Korra was a tomboy of sorts.
Cedric was a wolf Mobian male, his wife was a black Cat mobian named Azure who took his last name of middleton… so Korra was a Cat/wolf hybrid and she was in a tanktop and shorts while she slept on the bed she was on while her alarm was unplugged.
"Hey Cynthia, remind me to ask Cedric after this latest mission is over for some kind of bonus so I can get an alarm system that can let me wake Korra and she can't turn it off unless I will it?" Emerald thought to Cynthia as he rubs his head.
"Very well…. Reminder is set." Cynthia thought.
"Great… and in case I die… file a lawsuit against Cedric so he pays for my funeral…" Emerald thought as he shook Korra a bit to wake her, she was an 6 year old Mobian girl with Blue fur and black highlights, she looked a lot like a cat besides her wolf ears and tail showing her hybrid traits.
Cynthia sweatdrops but… she made sure to put a reminder of that lawsuit as Korra groans before she tried to swat something away.
Emerald tried and failed to wake Korra before he hums.
"Hmmm… shame, and here I thought I could get some ice cream before visiting Cedric and stuff, oh well, guess I'll get plenty of ice cream for myself and stuff." Emerald as he counted down from 3 as he walked towards the door.
Korra quickly sits up.
"Did someone say ice cream?"
Emerald gave Korra a half lidded look.
"Yeah, only if you get ready for school in the next 20 minutes, we need to leave early so we can swing by your pops workplace… could get some ice cream if you hurry to get ready and stuff, I'll meet you in the living room so get ready." Emerald said while he left the room.
No sooner than a second, Korra seemed to have fast speed as she went to get ready for today.
Emerald chuckles when he heard this, Korra inherited Cedric and Azures main powers, Speed and Flames while the electric power Cedric had was skipped on Korra's side, still this results in Korra getting ready fast enough to hit the 15 minute mark and Emerald smiles at the outfit she wore.
Korra was seen wearing a white buttoned, short-sleeved shirt with and adorable dark blue skirt.
However, she was wearing a leather jacket that should fit for a biker.
"Hehe, you really love that Jacket I got you huh?, and your dad got onto me for the not girly thing… good thing he doesn't know about that game console and some games I got you." Emerald said with a grin.
"You are a bad influence." Cynthia said in Emerald's head while Emerald thought back.
"Eh, what Cedric doesn't know won't make him blow a gasket." Emerald thought which showed that Korra didn't know about Cynthia since he didn't speak out loud and she didn't say anything vocally.
"I still worry for your safety Emerald." Cynthia thought as Korra snorted.
"Oh pops can throw a fit but he can never say no to his little girl. Plus there's always mom to back me up."
"Maybe, just try and not tick him off since that would make it hard for me to get ice cream after the visit, come on, time is wasting." Emerald said when he opened the door to the room and he and Korra left the apartment after Korra got her backpack.
"Are you going on a case later?" Korra asked while Emerald shrugged.
"Maybe… not like you'll see it since you'll be at school, real life gore is not like game gore… and people say games are getting close to reality… try getting an up close look at a corpse and tell me it's not real enough." Emerald said while shaking his head as he and Korra left the apartment Building.
"Shouldn't give her suggestions like that Emerald." Cynthia said.
"Wasn't suggesting that, was just saying real life gore is much worse than game graphics and stuff." Emerald thought while Korra's eyes sparkled at a case for Emerald.
"Wish I could go. Be a lot more exciting than school. Wish summer was here." Korra said.
"Yeah well it's unfortunately not, and believe me you don't want to do that, you have a better sense of smell than I do and my sense of smell is near zilch… and even than the smell sometimes makes me want to puke since I can taste things in the air… trust me a 6 year old won't like it… try that when your older and real life jades you to some things." Emerald said while he shook his head as he walked by his technically adopted Daughter since he was babysitting nearly 24/7.
Korra sighs.
"Guess you have a point."
"Indeed, kids like you should enjoy life while you can, so squirt, hear you made a new friend recently… Cream the Rabbit right?... she a nice girl or is she with a… bad crowd?" Emerald said while he had a concerned look on his face.
"Oh she's sweet but some kids try to get her to join a bad crowd till I put a stop to that." Korra said.
"Depends on what you mean by bad crowd… didn't you skip school a few times young lady?... and you remember what I said about bullies and stuff right?... you kick their butts and make it look like you were defending yourself, even if that's not the case if you get the drop on them, use your cuteness to manipulate things to your advantage hehe." Emerald while he gave a dark chuckle while Korra jolted though she gave her own dark chuckle at the end making Cynthia sweatdrop at Emerald's advice.
"Definitely a bad influence." Cynthia said.
"Oh bite me, you try dealing with Bullies and figure out ways to deal with the aftermath." Emerald thought as he and Korra walked for a few minutes until they got to a large building that was Called Station Square Police Department or S.S.P.D.
Once the duo enter, they walked by a receptionist after greeting them and in no time, the duo enter a room that looked fancy while a middle aged but fit Wolfman mobian around his 40's sat at his desk and noticed the duo enter and smiled at Korra.
"Hey Korra. How's my fiery kitten?" The man said.
"Daaad." Korra said with a blush on her face as Emerald chuckles.
"Hehe, well lets just say she had a hard time waking earlier until I mentioned Ice Cream, let's leave it at that to the start of her day, and it seems she made a friend with a… Cream the Rabbit recently after helping her not get roped into a bad crowd." Emerald said with an amused look on his face.
"Really? Well that's my little angel." Cedric said as he was proud of his daughter.
Korra blushed more before Emerald was about to leave the room.
"I'll be back, I need to talk with a couple people before I walk Korra to school so I'll leave you two to talk in private." Emerald as he gave Cedric a hidden way of saying he would be back after talking with his two partners for this case without Korra following him.
Cedric then looks at his daughter.
"Hope you're behaving well while spending time with Emerald."
Korra rubs her head.
"Yeah well… I'm doing fine… going to sleep on time when he says and stuff though he can be annoying sometimes with his bad jokes, wish I could visit you and Mom more when she is in town." Korra asked and while she didn't mean to sound harsh with Emerald being a Guardian of hers but seems she rarely got to see her own parents which had her react like that.
Cedric sighs as he gets up from his chair and goes to his daughter.
"I know sweetie. Your mother wishes for that too. But give it time, once she's back, the three of us will spend time together."
"And when will that be?... it's been nearly two weeks." Korra said while she looked sad with her wolf ears folding back on her head a bit.
Cedric hugs his daughter.
"I don't know when exactly but it's almost over." He said before having an idea.
"If you like, we can call her to see how she's doing."
"... maybe… but chances are she won't pick up until I'm sleeping and stuff… how come she can't get a job in town again?... something about FBI work?" Korra said while she looked a bit confused.
Cedric rubs the back of his head.
"Well… yes. The job your mother does makes her take many trips out of town because of some cases she is working on."
"... I really hate the FBI and how busy you are…" Korra said while she rubs and arm… while this happened as Cedric tried to calm his daughter, Emerald went to the investigation department to see who he was working with, after some talk with Cynthia on where to go, he enters a room and was surprised to see a couple beautiful ladies, one Mobian and one a human woman… the mobian was a Hedgehog Humanoid with pink Quills similar to Amy rose with blue highlights in them and had the a very shapely body under a shirt, coat, and skin tight jeans and tennis shoes.
The human woman was a bit tall and slender looking with nice skin as her blonde hair was tied in a ponytail.
She also wore a lab coat with a light blue blouse and black pants with high heels.
"Hello beautiful ladies!" Emerald said with a grin on his face as he approached the duo while Cynthia sighs at that intro.
Both ladies look over as the humanoid hedgehog smiles at Emerald.
"Hello Emerald."
"Didn't expect to be working with you Maite and… who is your lovely friend here?, you don't normally hang with supermodel humans after all." Emerald said when he grins at the two women more.
The woman giggles.
"I'm Elaine. Elaine Benes."
"Well Mrs. Benes, hope we can get along… very well." Emerald said when he shook Elaine's hand.
Cynthia sweatdrops.
"Ease up on the flirting Emerald. Last time you almost got sued for sexual harassment." She thought.
"Hey to be fair, A, I had no idea she was undercover and B, she came onto me and got me drunk, how was I supposed to know she was trying to use me to get her target off guard." Emerald thought as he lets go of Elaine's hand.
"Ok, so we need to head to Twinkle Park to solve a murder case, is that right?, know the victim's name?" Emerald asked while he crossed his arms.
"Yes…" Maite said as she looks at the folder.
"His name is Kimba, he happens to be a Hobidon. New species from a different planet."
"Hobidon… oh don't tell me… representing his race?" Emerald asked while he cringed at the field day the media would have if they find out soon.
Maite sighs.
"Pretty much. He was shot in the heart."
"Anything else?" Emerald asked while Elaine sighs.
"Yeah… his eyes were removed and he was hung upside down on a Ferris wheel spoke, thankfully no damage to the body on the ground but does have scrapes." Elaine said as Emerald hums.
"I see… let's head to the scene of the Crime… I'll meet you there, need to take Korra to school after getting her ice cream and could ask Cedric for info in case the forensic gave him some info and stuff." Emerald said before he got ready to leave the room.
"Alright. See you there Emerald." Maite said.
Once Emerald left Maite and Elaine, he walked back to Cedric's office and he saw that Korra was drinking a soda she got from her dad to help calm her while Cedric sees Emerald.
Cedric noticed him.
"Welcome back Emerald. Did you get what you were told?"
"More or less, didn't expect Maite to be in the Investigation department, must be a promotion… anyway Korra and I need to get going so I can get her to school on time and get on the case after, ready to go Squirt?" Emerald said as he looks at Korra with a grin.
Korra pouts.
"I'm no squirt."
"Hehe, try saying that when you can actually jump and hit my shoulder, come on, need to get you some ice cream after we leave." Emerald said while he looks at Cedric.
"See you chief, I'll let you know if we find anything at the scene." Emerald said while he gave Cedric a two finger salute.
Cedric nods his head before looking at Korra.
"Have a good day at school sweetie and be careful." He said before kissing Korra's forehead.
Korra blushed at the kiss and more as Emerald chuckles before he and Korra left the office and Cedric was alone there.
'Emerald… I don't know what's happening but… good luck.' Cedric thought.
After the duo left and Emerald got some ice cream for him and Korra, he grins at her.
"So feeling better after saying hi to your pops and getting a frozen treat?" Emerald said while he grins more at Korra.
"A bit… though I still wonder if mom is doing okay. I know she has a job but… wish she was home." Korra said.
"Hmmm… maybe, but your parents are working hard to support you, I mean think of their positions, Cedric, chief of police, your mom, some kind of FBI woman, can't get cooler than a boss of cops and a possible spy or something for the FBI, besides you got me as a parental figure that you crash with so…" Emerald said to try and cheer Korra up as Cynthia sweatdrops metaphorically.
"Well… that's true." Korra said as she enjoys her ice cream more.
"Yeah, and aside from a bed time, I get you a few fun games… pretty sure your dad would skin me alive for some of those… can't believe you got Doom eternal and stuff…" Emerald said while shaking his head while in Korra's backpack was a switch with many games on it and some would be well over a certain age for kids to play.
"Hehe, yeah but hey, Doom's a fun game. So much shooting and what not." Korra said while grinning.
"Is that before or after you rip a Demon's head from his spine." Emerald said while he gave Korra a half lidded look.
All Korra did was smirk as Cynthia sweatdrops at the duo's antics.
"Look, just make sure if any kids want to play the switch, make sure that they don't get scarred and stuff… not every kid is made of tough stuff like you." Emerald said as he rubs Korra's head a bit while scratching her behind the ears.
This action caused Korra to purr thanks to her cat heritage before blushing brightly.
"Y-You didn't hear that."
"What?, an engine purring or an embarrassed little kitten?" Emerald teased as he grins at Korra.
Korra blushes more as Cynthia giggles inside Emerald's head.
As the duo got to Korra's school, Emerald passed her 20 rings.
"Here, try and not use them all, save at least 5, you know why right when it comes to protection and if you run out, find rings as fast as you can." Emerald said while he pets Korra on the head behind her ears again.
Korra blushes before shaking her head.
"Careful. I had my fur brushed just right."
"What, the bedhead?" Emerald teased before he got ready to walk away.
"See you later Korra, I'll pick you up after school and if not, I'll send a cop to take you home in case the case gets serious." Emerald said as he walked away from Korra after fixing her hair with his clawed fingers for a moment.
Korra did wave at Emerald whether he saw or didn't see before Korra starts entering the school.
When she got in school, she got on her seat and a moment later, Cream the Rabbit walked into the classroom and smiles at Korra.
"Korra, good morning." Cream said when she sat by Korra.
"Morning Cream. How's it going?" Korra said.
"Pretty good, Momma made me a nice lunch while I ate breakfast and she gave me extra for you, how you doing with Emerald?, heard there was something bad happening at Twinkle Park and he would be heading there since Emerald goes to most places where bad things happen." Cream said while she looks a bit worried.
"Eh I wouldn't worry too much, Emerald maybe a goof but he gets the job done, pretty sure we can head to Twinkle Park in a week at least and have fun hanging out like we usually do." Korra said with a smile on her face.
Cream smiles a bit.
"Hopefully. I love going to the park. Especially when the grass is soft and there's also the adorable flowers."
"More like you going with Tails is what you mean?" Korra teased while she smirks at Cream.
Cream blushes brightly.
"I-I don't know what you mean."
"Suuuure… and my Switch is faulty, look Cream you gave Tails love sick eyes so why not ask him out and stuff, you've been friends with him for years and he had a huge brain and stuff, I'm sure he won't turn you down." Korra said while she grins at Cream.
Cream blushes more.
"M-Maybe… just worried he might say no."
"You kidding, I would kick him where the sun doesn't shine if that two tail jerk says no to giving you a chance." Korra said when she lightly bopped Cream's shoulder.
Cream rubs her shoulder a bit.
"Okay… I'll ask him today when I see him."
"Hehe, thatta girl, may as well walk you to Tails's place after school, can't be too careful and stuff today right?" Korra said while she had a concerned look on her face.
Cream gulped.
"Y-Yeah… with the news and the… b-bullies at school."
"Oh please, if bullies try and mess with us I'll kick their butts." Korra said while she hits a fist into her hand and as this happened, the scene went to Emerald as he approached an officer at the main gate of Twinkle Park with holographic police tape blocking off the area.
"Hey guys, Maite and Elaine enter a while ago?" Emerald asked when he looks around and didn't see the two women.
The officer was thoughtful.
"Oh yeah… two ladies with lab coats did walk in. Cute looking too."
"Hehe, yeah, anyway I'll be heading inside to examine the crime scene, Cedric sent me so the usual, you know how it is." Emerald said as he walked into Twinkle Park while he saw how empty it was while a rare police officer was here or there.
"Maybe me but place seems a bit creepy without all the people here." Emerald thought to Cynthia as he walks towards the Farris wheel.
"I agree but the only thing we can do now is solve the case." Cynthia said.
"Yeah… Cynthia, just in case, try and hack into nearby security cameras and see if you can find something while I talk with Maite and Elaine… nearly at the Farris wheel." Emerald thought as he walked up a flight of steps and he had a serious face at what he and proxy Cynthia saw… the upside down corpse of the hobidon Kimba and like the report said, his eyes were removed and thanks to this, blood was pooling under the corpse as Emerald approaching Maite and Elaine while they were examining the corpse.
"Anything on your end ladies while I was gone?" Emerald asked when he made himself know.
"Oh, hey Emerald and sadly… that's what we're trying to find out. We're trying to track possible footprints." Maite said.
"Wouldn't many people pass by Twinkle Park everyday?" Emerald asked with a raised eyebrow and pointed at Maite and Elaine's shoes.
"And given the police and others who found the body more so… no…" Emerald said as he thought but heard Cynthia's voice.
"Emerald I'm activating the X-Ray mode, my thermographic sensors indicate something in the corpse's intestines." Cynthia said while Emerald's robotic eye changed color and Maite and Elaine were surprised to see Emerald's pupil turning into a cross hair like an X as Kimba's body banished and all that was left was a hanging skeletal figure… and in his stomach area… a key of some kind.
"Elaine, call for an autopsy of the body, Maite, let's get going, from what I can tell, if the police haven't found much here, we won't find anything else… I'll explain the eye shifting later but know it's a secret that the higher ups who don't want this told to just anyone, bit of a secret weapon that the Police need and I happen to be perfect to hold it… or her more exact." Emerald said as he had a serious look on his face while his robotic eye returned to normal.
Maite and Elaine were again surprised but confused at the same time but they were on a timer so Elaine started calling autopsy.
As Maite followed Emerald, Emerald looks thoughtful as he looks at Maite.
"Hey Maite, I may have a lead but it's a bit out there… since we need to go to a club to get this possible lead." Emerald said suddenly as he walked from Maite towards the entrance of Twinkle Park with a look of determination.
Maite was now more confused.
What type of club was Emerald talking about and what kind of lead?
Guess the beautiful hedgehog will get her answers as she quickly follows Emerald.
When she did, she was surprised to see it was club Night… a popular club ran by Rouge, a GUN agent when not called for work… what would she have for info or was it someone else?
"Emerald? What is going on here?" Maite said.
"Simple, an ambassador of all things of their race died recently, and Rouge has many connections and information on many things, she could even have something on Kimba before he died since this is the top club in town, tell me Maite, what was Kimba doing before he died?, and I don't mean here, chances are he may or may not have come here but some people should have seen Kimba alive before his body was found in Twinkle Park." Emerald said while he looks at Maite.
Maite blinks at the question before being thoughtful for a bit.
"I'm… not really sure to be honest."
"Indeed, unless we can get some info on Kimba and his whereabouts, we will be in the dark for awhile… come on, lets see Rouge and before you ask why, she was the one who helped me be a detective under Cedric and stuff." Emerald said while he had a grin on his face.
"Huh?... what do you mean?" Maite said while Emerald looks confused.
"What do you mean?, didn't you read my file?... I have no memories of who I was prior to 3 years ago." Emerald said while he wondered if some kind of mix up happened.
Maite was shocked.
"Seriously?!… I had no idea."
"Same with me back than, if it wasn't for Rouge I would probably not be alive." Emerald said as he walked towards the Club but was stopped by the bouncer.
"ID?" The bouncer said as Emerald chuckles.
"Really Frankie?, even after how long you known me you still ask?" Emerald said while Frankie gave Emerald a narrowed eyed look.
"No ID, no entry." Frankie said before a sultry chuckle was heard.
"Really now, even though I gave orders Emerald was a special exception?" A fememine voice said making the trio look to see Rouge the bat in a rather beautiful dress with a coat on to make her look good as Emerald grins at her.
"Hello Gorgeous…" Emerald said while grinning at the shapely Bat mobian when her dress barely hid her impressive cleavage.
Maite blinked when she heard that as the bouncer gulped.
"S-Sorry Boss. I was making sure no funny business happened."
Rouge chuckles before she looks at Frankie.
"See that you remember this, anyway Emerald, who is your friend?, your girlfriend?... she looks cute but… nah… knowing you, you would be here for other reasons than a date after hearing about what happened at Twinkle Park… follow me, we can talk inside." Rouge said as she walked into the club with Emerald in tow.
Maite blushes when she called as Emerald's girlfriend before looking at Emerald.
"H-How you two meet?"
"Well like I said, if not for Rouge I wouldn't be where I am today, she found me wandering here or there while I had no memories, I owe her a lot." Emerald said as he, Rouge, and Maite approached the counter.
"Hehe, yup, may as well have Emerald be my slave when not working under Cedric's thumb." Rouge said as Emerald chuckles.
"Really?, depending on the role I may not mind." Emerald teased when he wiggles an eyebrow at the shapely bat mobian woman after she got behind the counter to clean a few glasses on her own.
Maite felt a bit irked when she saw the way Emerald and Rouge flirted with each other but shook her head as she approaches the counter.
"So… Mrs. Rouge, I take it that you know something about what the ambassador of the Hobidon was doing?"
Rouge hums as she wipes her glass more.
"Hobidon?, you mean Kimba right?, guy came in for a drink a couple days ago, got hammered, flirted with me and a few singers and dancers here and left with a few friends he made." Rouge said as Emerald sat next to Maite.
"And the real answer that doesn't try and make things sound clean?... we know one another enough that I can see a tell… Kimba caused trouble here when he came to drink did he?" Emerald said as Rouge sighs after a moment of silence.
"Yeah, guy was nice, but when he got hammered he got a bit too hands on with a few women, even surprised me when he grabbed my breasts something fierce from behind, even I got limits on roughness you know and limits with drunk customers, had Frankie kick him out and he left around 10 PM a couple days ago." Rouge said while Emerald looks at Maite.
"Maite, you may want to call Elaine with the Autopsy workers and check to see if there was still alcohol in his systems… could narrow things down and stuff." Emerald said while he looks at Maite since she may have Elaine's number.
Maite nods her head before she takes out her cell phone and starts calling for Elaine.
Once Maite left Emerald and Rouge, Emerald looks at Rouge.
"So… how are you doing Rouge?, from a few people I overheard from a few of your more… gossip inclined workers, it seems you and Kimba had a good time to not get an ambassador to mess with you after he was kicked out… I'm not asking to be an ass but what is your alibi for the last couple days… I want to remind you that I don't ask to get sus of you but to try and clear your name since people are already talking… and a nice woman like you shouldn't get that kind of stress." Emerald asked while he gave Rouge a concerned look.
"Don't worry, I understand. I was at GUN with Shadow and Omega talking about some important classified mission. I signed in with my badge so it would have time stamped the day I got in." Rouge said.
"And that's within two days?... and you have others around at the time?, People could say you reprogrammed Omega to vouch for you and you could have seduced the ultimate Lifeform to say he saw you do this… I'll check when you clocked in to be safe and ask around later to make an iron clad alibi for you… hehe, will say this, if you're up for it, I could take you on a date after I'm done with the case to help you relax… it is almost that weekly time we meet up for the fun times we have so…" Emerald said with a grin on his face after he got past the serious stuff.
Rouge smirks.
"Hmmm… I do need to… unwind after a long day. Though what about your partner? Nothing going on with you two?"
"Huh?, we barely hang out and barely talked aside from cases, sure I flirted a bit but the amount of time we talked and even met isn't much believe it or not… though knowing you and echidna tradition being accepted, doubt you would complain much if I did get lucky with her given your preference to both genders… saw you stare at her ass for a moment when she walked off… remind you of Amy and stuff?, heard she got over Sonic a bit over the years… she doing good?, heard she works in construction thanks to her strength." Emerald said while he rubs his chin since super strength could toss out purely male culprits being on his sus list.
"Well… she's doing okay but sometimes… she comes here and… drinks heavily… not to mention a lot of smoking. But the stuff she uses won't affect her lungs." Rouge said.
"Really?... wow hopefully she doesn't go too overboard, heard drinking isn't good in excess and smoking?... only brand that doesn't effect lungs in the ring brand… heard it uses ring energy to coat the lungs to keep the lungs in shape so the smoke doesn't give issues." Emerald said when he looks a bit worried for Amy.
"Yeah that's the one. Thing is, I think Amy needs someone, man or woman, she needs to get laid bad. I mean Sonic is dating Blaze if you haven't heard." Rouge said.
"Blaze?... you mean that Princess from that other dimension you talked about?... heard rumors about that but since there are things like Chaos Control and other things happening in the past with special zones tripping people up, guess anything is possible… hmmm… tell you what Rouge… if you can introduce Amy to me, I'll sweep her off her feet and make her feel special if you want me to lend a hand or… other things hehe." Emerald said with a grin when he could try and help Amy relax in a good way and stuff.
Rouge blinks a bit before smirking at Emerald.
"Got yourself a deal, handsome."
"Hehe, thanks, anyway unless you got anything else to chip in with the case, I should get going so Maite and I can go to other places, if you hear anything about this case or anyone suspicious with your connections, let me know alright, I'll return the favor with rings or in the usual way…. Making you squirm hehe." Emerald teased before he got off the stool he sat on to look for Maite as he walked away from Rouge.
Rouge chuckles as she kept cleaning the glasses.
'See you later stud.'
After Emerald left Rouge, he ran into Maite who had a worried look on her face.
"E-Emerald, got a report from Elaine, there was a key in the body's stomach." Maite said while Emerald hums.
"Yeah, I knew that, needed that autopsy to see what kind of key it was, did you ask if Elaine would bring it to us?, or did it not have details on it for clues?" Emerald asked surprising Maite when he knew there was a key in the body somehow.
"W-Wait… how did you know that there was a key in the body?" Maite said.
Emerald tapped near his robotic eye and grins at Maite.
"Remember my eye shifting so it showed an X shaped pupil and stuff?… X-Ray mode that shows the skeletal insides of a person, and no doesn't work with just clothes… I'm legally obligated to say that and stuff thanks to Cedric when I explain this… not many know about this eye except the higher ups at the R&D department of the station… try and not tell others since I'm only allowed to tell people when I get permission, but given how I was more or less surprised with allies and stuff for this case aside usual police people, felt like I had no choice but to talk after hearing about no clues yet… and Cynthia wouldn't allow me to just peek at a woman like a pervert since she is the AI controlling the finer features of this robotic eyeball." Emerald said while he gave Maite a half lidded look when he explained the X-Ray mode for a moment when she covered her breasts and lower body with her hands with a blush.
Maite continues to blush.
"W-Well that's good. Wouldn't like the idea of smacking you if you did that."
"Neither would I if you hit where I live, your job would probably be on the line for attacking me without legal cause." Cynthia said while a small speaker lets her talk from Emerald's eye, making Maite jolt as Emerald sighs.
"Cynthia… normally its OK to speak with Cedric and stuff but try and not freak people out when you talk out of the blue." Emerald said as he held his hand towards his robotic eye and after a moment, Emerald's eye ejects from his head painlessly and he closed his now eyeless eyelid and in his hand his robotic eye sat there before some kind of water like substance formed and mimicking Chaos in his first state with the water body, in Emerald's hand sat a chao shaped water body for Cynthia to sit in while two cute antler like horns sat on her head as she sat in Emerald's hand and she looks at Maite and Cynthia in this state looked adorable right now.
Maite, though surprise, blushes a bit when she saw Cynthia.
"I-Is this the AI?"
"Indeed, I am Cynthia, it is a pleasure to meet you Maite, sorry for not introducing myself earlier but I have gained clearance from Cedric that in order to make efficient use of time and to save explanations, I have decided to show myself to you, I help Emerald with various functions like sight, keeping him from doing stupid stuff, and making sure he lives if he gets in a fight since he has no powers like you or other beings with special abilities." Cynthia said while Emerald gave her a single eyed half lidded look.
"You know I can put you in a baggy and keep you in my pocket for a few hours right?" Emerald said while he didn't like being told he was powerless and stuff compared to ability users and had to rely on Cynthia in fights.
"Sorry, just stating the facts." Cynthia said.
"Yeah well remember those facts could get you in a time out." Emerald said and while she was still a bit weird out by things… Maite did giggle a bit while Emerald and Cynthia look at her in confusion.
"Something funny?" Emerald asked while he raised an eyebrow.
"Hehe… sorry. The way you two argue is very cute." Maite said.
"I do not understand how us arguing is comedic, being put in a baggy is not efficient for anyone since the case is ongoing and Emerald's vision would be halved as well." Cynthia said when she tilts her watery chao head at Maite adorably.
Maite blushes again when she saw that before clearing her throat.
"Right… so Cynthia, since you allow Emerald to use X-Ray vision, know where the key goes to?"
"Unfortunately I am not able to get the finer details of the key, if it had an inscription maybe, but if it was paper or some kind of marker like mark or otherwise, maybe eroded thanks to Kimba's stomach acid and thanks to the way the key was facing, even if it was there, it was nearly flat in my field of view, so didn't get details yet, and since touching the body was not a good move, Emerald decided to let Elaine and the autopsy team handle things… however I do have some good news, Emerald asked me to hack into the security cameras of the park and I did find out something, the culprit is a female bird Mobian woman, I didn't get details like coloring or features thanks to various factors like it being night at the time of the murder, being around 10:30 PM, and she wore a mask just in case and tried to disguise her body, but I did managed to highlight a few features on her body thanks to her clothing being dishevled most likely in a struggle with Kimba, first off she has a scar on her stomach on her right side preventing some feathers from regrowing and she has a similar state similar to Emerald and its not a missing eye… different colored eyes compared to singular eye coloring like you organics have… while it does cut down our investigation substantially, we are missing various factors like evidence, motive, and other things, even if we run into the culprit, we may not have much evidence to keep her since she could just say that the injury could be on anyone and there are procedures that can change eyes in general so if she was smart she would have gotten surgery recently and if not, would be out of sight for awhile…. But it gets worse… she has an accomplice and unlike a mobian form, this one was human and thanks to the way they dress being full black and wearing a vest, it made it hard to tell their gender and thanks to the mask, no other details..." Cynthia said while Emerald had a serious look on his face.
"You got all that from the cameras?... guess they didn't care if they got caught on camera if they didn't try and mess with them." Emerald said when he didn't like the fact and there were other factors like if there were more people involved with this… Kimba was an ambassador for his race after all… where were his guards… why did he come to Twinkle park so late… honestly aside from a lead that led nowhere technically since they have now ID for the bird mobian subject, they were back to square one for now.
Maite was surprised.
"Wait… wouldn't Kimba have guards? Every ambassador should have guards when dealing with diplomatic issues."
"No clue, given the time frame and lack of contact with the guards and I've been looking into things but while Kimba did have guards, don't stick with him 24/7, either Kimba managed to leave them behind somewhere or as the guards were shifting for the night shift so to speak with a new pair of guards, Kimba snuck away from them… the reason is unknown but given that Kimba wasn't looked for till recently, I have three possible scenarios that may explain why Kimba was there without his guards." Cynthia said when she looks at Maite.
"And what are they? Hopefully he wasn't doing anything illegal." Maite said.
"Unfortunately, two out of three scenarios have a high probability of Kimba doing something illegal, and chances are thanks to culture differences between our planet of Mobius and his, he may not even know it was illegal… the first senario is more or less simple, he had connections with the culprits and called them there to speak about something, Twinkle Park at night is empty most times so its perfect for people to talk about things in private if they sneak in… something happened like maybe an argument or dispute and Kimba was killed in the issue, reason why his guards were missing can be used with all three scenarios, he either snuck away from them or left them during a shift change…. Scenario two is more or less the same but with them calling him to speak with him, a being from another planet would have a lot of info on various things after all… once they got what they needed they finished Kimba off and left him hanging after removing his eyes, same with reason one as well… finally the grimmest reason… maybe Kimba didn't call them and he ran into them at Twinkle park, maybe he was trying to kill them and they in self defense fought back in in the hectic situation, they killed him… we have to consider that even if we do find the culprit they may use a self defense motive in explaining why they killed Kimba unless we have evidence saying the contrary." Cynthia said as she sounds calm about all three reasons.
"I'm guessing it's none of the above though right?" Emerald said as Cynthia looks at her.
"Indeed… if Kimba was a native to Mobius, I would understand why he came to Twinkle park and what not for privacy but records indicate Kimba is a first time visitor to twinkle Park, probability most likely indicates he wanted to be alone most likely to calm himself and he got in a bad place at a very bad time and was killed from most likely hearing about something he wasn't supposed to." Cynthia said when she looks at Emerald more.
"But the question is why? Why kill him? Was it blackmail or something else?" Maite said.
"We can stand here debating on the reason all day Maite but fact of the matter is we're dealing with one, possibly two killers if the two figures worked together to kill Kimba, no matter how much logic you use, a killer took a life and in a cruel fashion left Kimba to hang with his eyes removed, not even a normal killer who stabs and runs would do that much… you really think using reason with them would make sense?" Cynthia said when she looks at Maite after making a cute waddle like turn on tiny feet.
Maite tried to hold back a giggle when she saw that.
"Y-You're right. We should go see Elaine and find out more about this key."
"Indeed, but again Maite, just a reminder, unless you get permission, try and not talk about me, the only people who know about me are Cedric, the higher ups, you, and Rouge to a small extent thanks to her finding Emerald while he was missing an eye but thinks I'm just a glass eye or a robotic one just for pure eyesight for Emerald, anyone else at the station just thinks Emerald has a fancy eye." Cynthia said when she returned to her simple eye form and Emerald put Cynthia back in his head and blinked when he could see from both eyes again.
"She seems nice." Maite said.
"Oh sure, she is nice when she wants to be, but can turn evil at the drop of a hat, try saying she is nice when she blasts an alarm inside your head or suddenly comments on things that should be private… I know we have a literal link in my head that lets me communicate with her without speaking but it doesn't give her a right to comment on everything." Emerald said while Cynthia metaphorically rolled her eye.
"First off that's because you don't wake in the morning sometimes without my help and want me to explain your latest thoughts about Maite that would most likely get a sexual harrassment charge?" Cynthia said as Emerald jolts and Emerald covered his eye muffling Cynthia from speaking.
Maite blinks a bit.
"W-Wait what? What do you think of me?"
"N-Never you mind… I'll see you at the police station with Elaine… see you!" Emerald said before he quickly rushed out of the club before Maite could stop him from doing so.
Maite was a bit confused.
'Was he having… impure thoughts about me?' She thought before blushing brightly.
After Emerald left the club and was well onto the Police station, Emerald was fuming.
"OK Cynthia, I may have had that coming by complaining but bring up thoughts on certain women again and its instant baggy next time got it!" Emerald said with a bright blush when he spoke out loud, thankfully no one was nearby and Cynthia could speak with Emerald's head directly.
Cynthia chuckled.
"Sorry Emerald. Let that be a big lesson for you."
"To bring a baggy next time in case you say something you shouldn't?" Emerald teased back with a grin while Cynthia had a half lidded look.
"I can blare an alarm in your head, you know that right?" Cynthia said making Emerald cringe and he admits defeat.
"Sorry." Emerald said while he wondered why that alarm feature was installed.
"That's better. Now let's go meet Elaine at the autopsy with Maite." Cynthia said.
After Emerald hightailed it to the station, he entered and went to the autopsy section of the station while he wore a hazmat suit to keep the room sanitary and after saying hello to the head of the Autopsy room, he met with Elaine when she was outfitted in a hazmat suit for humans.
"Hey Elaine, how was the autopsy, get that key out of Kimba and cleaned?" Emerald asked while he crossed his arms.
Elaine sighs.
"Well… I did the best I could but here it is." She said as she shows Emerald the key.
When Emerald got the key from Elaine, he hums while Cynthia examines the key… the key was cleaned up well but thanks to various factors like the key being old and some markings being faded plus the acid of the stomach messing with things more, the key was barely eligible.
Emerald wasn't bothered much since he had an idea.
"Hey Cynthia, are the Babylon Rogues in town or nearby?" Emerald asked with a thoughtful look as he rubs his hazmat suit with his chin while he was quiet which made it look to Elaine Emerald was just thinking to himself.
"Analyzing… Yes the Babylon Rogues are indeed in town at a 24 hour cafe." Cynthia said.
"Good." Emerald thought before he looks at Elaine.
"Nice job Elaine, I'll be heading out to a place that may help with getting this Key fixed up, I'll explain later if this idea works, until then try and find out more with the autopsy team on where Kimba was last based on the materials on his shoes, the contents of his stomach, and other things, if not that, than mind doing me a favor thanks to the time and ask Cedric permission to pick up his Daughter from Station Square Elementary?... here is the key to my apartment so mind keeping an eye on Korra until I get back?" Emerald asked when he passed Elaine a spare key to his apartment after looking at the time… guess time flew when doing detective work with the police.
"Um sure but where's Maite?" Elaine said.
"Last I checked she should have followed me here after we stopped by Club Night to ask Rouge some things, She can explain more if she comes by, for now see you later… oh and just a warning, Korra is a real spitfire so try and not let her get to out of control if you see her." Emerald said as he left the autopsy department and the police station entirely.
Funnily enough after Emerald left, Maite rushed in a hazmat suit of her own and missed Emerald entirely by a couple minutes.
"H-Hey Elaine, sorry about rushing in like this." Maite said while Elaine looks confused but as Maite looks confused on where Emerald was, the scene went to Emerald as he approached a sci-fi looking club of sorts that had a cafe feel about it.
"This the place Cynthia?, they still here even after I walked here?" Emerald asked while he look around just in case so he doesn't miss anything before he would enter.
"I accessed a few cameras around here. This is the right place." Cynthia said.
"Alright, lets hope that they are in a talkative mood and I don't get Storm sicked on me, heard he is a brute." Emerald thought as he enters the cafe and walked up to a receptionist there.
"Pardon me, I'm looking for some friends of mine, Jet the Hawk, Wave the Swallow, and Storm the Albatross, or the group Babylon Rogues… they happen to be here and if so mind telling me where they are?... I have something important to talk with them about." Emerald asked while he smiled at the recepticst more.
The receptionist was a bit thoughtful.
"Well… if you're their friend then you can find them in that booth over there." They said as they point at that one both in the corner.
"Thank you, and sorry if I bothered you." Emerald said as he walked to the booth to see if the Babylon rogues were there and thankfully they were at a table while eating some food while Wave was busy messing with a laptop on her end and Emerald cleared his throat to get their attention.
When Jet looks at him, he raised an eyebrow.
"And who are you?" Jet asked while Emerald chuckles.
"Names Emerald, I'm a detective for the SSPD who works only for the captain in serious cases, mind if I ask you three some questions and depending on how it goes, ask for some help in a case I'm working on… I'll pay you guys as well in case you want some compensation… its just mainly the skills of this beauty here with technology that I mainly require and maybe some questions of where she was in the last few days… and before you ask… yes it has to deal with the recent murder in Twinkle Park… security cameras show a female bird mobian there with a human accomplice and while you can get angry… remember I'm only asking for an alibi to check out to see if I can clear this lovely lady's name, Wave the Swallow was it?... I must say you're a lot more beautiful in person than the rumors about you say." Emerald said when he grins at Wave the swallow while Emerald showed an ID and his detective license to the trio to show he was legit.
Wave did blush as Jet frowns.
"If you must know, we were all training for the next Grand Prix."
"Can anyone else vouch for this or the place you trained in have security cameras that show you three together training?" Emerald asked when he looked Jet in the eyes with a serious expression as he crossed his arms when he sat next to Wave to sit in front of Jet to not bother the other customers.
Wave tries to calm the situation.
"There were the security guards that did their patrols. Plus some security cameras."
"Alright… then let me be clearer… were all three of you together for 48 hours and if not, can you explain your warabouts when not with these two?, training for 48 hours with no breaks would be serious overkill and just not possible... I ask because the murder happened to be with the Hobidon ambassador Kimba and he was found dead recently so you get how serious this will be… yesterday in fact, and he had his eyes removed and he was hung upside down on a ferris wheel like some kind of carcass left out to dry… I found this key thanks to the autopsy department who found this in his stomach and don't worry, the key is clean thanks to them and while I could use my connections with Rouge to ask a friend of hers Tails for help, I figured why not ask people who are not as… squeamish in getting down and dirty with the more… deadlier type of things… I need a way to restore this so that the words on this key are eligible… I'll pay you three… or Wave back if she does most of the work either in rings… or other ways hehe… either way if it's impossible, I'll try other ways of getting this Key patched up." Emerald said while he put the key on the table before the Babylon Rogues before he crossed his arms.
Wave then gets a determined look.
"Well you come to the right people. I can make sure that this key is as good as new."
"Good… but again Wave, mind if I ask if you were with the others training for those 48 hours?... again this was the ambassador from another planet and given some rumors say you three are descended from aliens who came from another planet, figured you three would be determined to lend a hand with this, again, the suspect or one of them was a bird mobian like woman, she had a scar on her right side of her stomach and different colored eyes, you could have worn contacts to hide things and just plucked a few feathers in training by accident or got an injury that prevents feathers from growing, and again… not saying this to be an *Looks around to make sure no kids were around and looks back*... ass but I'm wanting to make sure a killer isn't running amok and given how Sonic had an issue with Shadow since they are similar, you may get questioned by police later who may ask similar things so I want to clear you guys off the suspect list if I'm able… for all I know given your history, you could have hacked security cameras or bribed the guards of the place you were training in… people will say things like that and worse so if you have any surefire way of proving your innocence, now is a good time besides vague alibi's that many lawyers could poke holes in… in fact I'll tell you that Kimba was killed around 10:30 PM a few days ago so what is your alibi than?" Emerald said when he looks at Wave, Jet, and Storm seriously.
Said trio were quiet but Jet frowns.
"We told you where we were. Plus Wave brought a camera to record our moves in case she wants to fine tune the boards."
"Yeah. And we don't know anything of this bird woman though… she does sound familiar somehow." Storm said.
"Really?, maybe she was in a past extreme Gear tournament or maybe a treasure hunter… if you guys find out anything about this woman, mind giving me a call?... here is my number, and I'll need a copy of that recording so I and a few others at the station can check for tampering, if it's legit, your off the hook, and as for the key, mind if I ask what you have mind?, I'm sure a lady with a brain like yours can do wonders but restoring something from such a degraded state, call me a skeptic until that sexy brain works its magic." Emerald said as he passed Wave a card with his number on it.
Wave smirks as she takes the card.
"Never underestimate a girl, bub."
"Hehe, not saying I was, who knows, if you manage to get things fixed up with this key, aside from compensation, and if you're cleared of suspension, may ask if you want to go to a restaurant to pay you back for suspecting you… sorry but my job has me being suspicious of everything until guilty or innocent and I would hate to be on your bad side." Emerald teased as he winked at Wave.
Wave lightly blushes as Jet was irked while Storm was amused.
"Well officer, best way to do that is not piss us off." Jet said.
Emerald chuckles as he looks at Jet.
"True but just a reminder, I'm a Detective, not an officer, big difference, and last I checked when I dug up some info on you, you guys have a record so if I go missing, Cedric and the others would make you the top suspects on a list so try and not make any rash threats with me… and last I checked since you look steamed most likely from me flirting with this beautiful genius here, from what I heard you three see one another as siblings, protective maybe, but it's her choice in what she does… and finally…" Emerald said as he placed some rings on a table.
"I happen to enjoy that Echidna tradition of having a few ladies every now and then when I have the chance so I have experience when it comes to showing ladies a good time and before you ask, some of them who want to get serious with me know one another, not forced at all and let's just say that I enjoy some rather intense sights when they get to know one another… anyway I took enough of your time so I'll be seeing you in say… 2 days Wave if you're able to fix the key up in some kind of machine?, I'll be looking for clues elsewhere to try and get more clues, enjoy a nice meal paid for by me for you three since this went rather civil… now if you'll excuse me…" Emerald said as he left the trio at the table.
Jet grumbled.
"Jerk."
Wave rolled her eyes.
"Oh lighten up Jet. He's not that bad. Plus… he is cute."
Storm laughs a bit as Jet got a dropped beak as the scene went to Emerald while he exits the cafe and he had Cynthia contact Cedric while he walks along the side walk.
It wasn't long before the call was answered.
"Hey Emerald. How's it going with the case?"
"Well Cedric, good news/bad news, good news is that I found a Key but thanks to some erosion thanks to Kimba's stomach acid thanks to the key being in his stomach, the markings and what not are too faded to read, I brought the key to someone who could help, Wave of the Babylon Rogues, aside from Tails I can't think of anyone else right now who could help and I don't want to get Tails involved with a gory case like this… man… seeing a corpse like that takes the cake thats for damn sure… I had Elaine go and pick up Korra so she should either be at my place or at the station soon thanks to the time being a bit after school ended… it will be a day or two before I hear from Wave on the key restoration… anything on your end from the videos Cynthia sent about the two perps… maybe one of them dropped another clue we missed?... I'm heading back to Twinkle park one more time before I head home for the day so I can try and think of some follow up things thanks to Cynthia giving me a copy of the video data to look over… oh and by the way… and they said… so I'll need you to send a few people to the cafe and ask things like where they trained and stuff in an official manner but I highly doubt the Babylon Rogues did anything like this… I had Cynthia look at the key with various modes before I entered the Cafe and nothing else could be gathered like fingerprints and stuff so the key is useless as is for evidence… did you get anything from the autopsy team on other clues?" Emerald mentally said over the communication line as he walked along the sidewalk while he had hands in his pockets as he explained his meeting to the Babylon Rogues and Emerald giving the Key to Wave and everything.
"So far nothing yet but damn… at least we got some clues. Just need to find out who were those assailants and why Kimba was targeted." Cedric said.
"Well no case is easy sometimes, anyway wish me luck on finding a clue or something, if I manage to solve this case… may ask for a raise on a reward so I can get an alarm system installed so Korra can't just unplug an alarm if she wants to try and sleep in hehe… anyway just in case, have someone keep an eye on the babylon rogues not only for protection in case they get into trouble but in case they are lying, and same with Rouge… I don't want to doubt her but until I verify alibi's I would even suspect you of all people even as shocking as that is… remember that case before you became the chief and you were the top suspect and stuff until Cynthia and I found a key clue clearing your name?... thats how shocking some cases can get sometimes and I don't want to risk a shock like that so I'm not giving up till I find the perp." Emerald thought with a determined look in his organic eye.
Cedric was quiet but remembered that case and was thankful for Emerald and Cynthia's aid.
"Alright. I'll see what I can do."
"Great…. Cynthia end call." Emerald thought as Cynthia ends the call.
"Ready to really get sleuthing for clues at Twinkle Park?... may as well test out that new feature you got from your creator while we are at it hehe." Emerald thought with a determined look on his face as Cynthia had a determined tone to her voice.
"Indeed… I'm ready for anything now… let's see if we can't figure out more things… for now to Twinkle Park Emerald!" Cynthia said in Emerald's head as Emerald chuckles as he walks toward the park as the scene fades to black on the first arc of the Discord files.
