The scene opened up to show TME while he was waiting for Atomsk to finish posting the newest chapter of Pokemon: Legends Chaos that was finish a minute before this was started… shows TME and Atomsk are always busy so maybe an unhealthy work ethic doing this day in and out without breaks aside Atomsk's real job taking his time.
After a moment, Atomsk appears from the portal that was opened.
"Hey man, sorry that it took long."
TME waved a hand at Atomsk.
"No problem at least it's posted." TME said while he grins at Atomsk.
"So… ready to start some lemons for Discord files?" TME asked while he had an amused look.
"Oh yeah. Really needs one." Atomsk said as he chuckles.
"Good… we have three possible ladies Emerald could have fun with… Rouge from his connections with her, Amy from a meeting set up by Rouge and stuff, and Wave later if the Key restoration is going well… Wave maybe a later lemon given how it may take a day or two for her to work her science magic… so we just need to decide who is first between Amy and Rouge more or less." TME said while he rubs his chin in thought.
"Yeah… unless we use both." Atomsk said with an amused look.
"Maybe, just need to do it in a classy way, may as well consider this a break chapter more or less before the case kicks up again… so shall we start?" TME asked while he grins at Atomsk.
"Hehe, lead the way, good sir." Atomsk said.
TME nods before he looks at the readers.
"There you have it dear readers, expect lemons here for this chapter, more may happen next chapter but for now, consider this a downtime chapter since it will take time for the key to be restored thanks to Wave." TME said while he grins at the readers.
"Yeah. Maybe after this one, we can update a third chap for more… cop drama." Atomsk said while grinning.
That's when you hear the "Law and Order" theme song.
As that happened, the scene transitioned to show Emerald, again in this story if you forget, is a fox mobian while he is missing his eye, as he got to his apartment to end the day while he sees Korra playing with Cream the rabbit while Elaine and Maite were there.

"Huh… didn't expect to see Cream or you here Maite, something happen?" Emerald asked getting everyone's attention while Cream and Korra paused their game of Smash bros.
"Hehe, well Elaine and I were a bit worried for Korra and thanks to her wanting to play some games with Cream, after she called her mom, Cream was given the OK to spend the night here… we came to keep an eye on them just to be safe." Maite said while Emerald gave Korra a half lidded look.
"Oh really?... I didn't know Cream was spending the night…" Emerald said while he had a raised eyebrow and smirks at Korra who jolts a bit.
"Oh sorry Emerald, forgot to call… hehe." Korra said as she chuckles nervously.
"Hope I'm not too imposing Mr. Emerald." Cream said as she smiles cutely at Emerald.
Emerald blushed at this since Cream was being well mannered so he wasn't used to that and scratch his cheek.
"Well… just as long as you two don't do anything crazy and go to bed at a decent time… you can bunk in Korra's room… hopefully you can be a good influence on her and actually get her to wake up at a decent time… just to let you know squirt… I'm planning on getting an alarm system you can't shut off… either from talking your dad into paying me so I can buy one… or talk to an interesting lady I met and she may be able to rig something up… Wave the Swallow of the Babylon Rogues." Emerald said with a grin when Korra got wide eyes… not only from the alarm system but… Wave the freaking Swallow!?... Korra liked Extreame gears and she looked pretty excited to hear Emerald met her and stuff.
"What?! You met Wave from the Babylon Rogues?" Korra said with an excited look.
"Yup… can't say much but lets just say she is helping with the case I'm working on to restore an item, can't ask Tails this so try and keep quiet to Tails about this you two if you see him… if you behave yourself, in a couple days, maybe I could bring you along to meet with her hmmm?" Emerald said while he grins at Korra who seemed like a kid in a candy store while Cynthia, to keep herself hidden from Elaine, Cream, and Korra, didn't speak but thought to Emerald when she had something to say about this.
"Careful Emerald. You know how excited Korra is. Hopefully she won't call Wave… Auntie if things get more… physical between you two." Cynthia teased.
Emerald blushed a bit from this though thanks to his fur, he wasn't noticed as Cream smiles.
"Oh, if I call my mom, can I come with?... I raced with Miss wave in the past in a few grand prix cups… maybe she could look at my extreme gear I have?... Tails made it but lately he has been a bit busy so I'm worried my gear maybe out of tune." Cream said while Emerald rubs his chin.
"Maybe… only if you call your mom in advance and give me time to check with Wave first, I maybe pushing it with Korra so not sure if Wave will like getting bugged by two kids who may not behave… well… one since I know how mannered you are Cream… Korra on the other hand…" Emerald said while he teased Korra a bit.
"Hey! I can be well behaved." Korra said making Maite and Elaine giggle.
Emerald chuckles as well before he looks at Elaine and Maite.
"Well I'll check in an hour after I relax a bit… thanks for keeping an eye on Cream and Korra you two, you probably have things to do job wise so sorry for taking your time and stuff in babysitting these two." Emerald said while he rubs his head.
Maite giggles.
"Oh no worries Emerald. It was actually fun watching them." She said with a smile.
"Hehe, them or the smash matches they have that would put pro players to shame?, pretty sure they are surprisngly scary when they get competitive." Emerald said with a grin as he looks at Cream and Korra.
"Anyway after I get something to eat and talk with Wave and Maite and Elaine leave… think I can join a game or two?" Emerald said with a grin since he played Smash a few times before.
Korra and Cream blink a bit before they grin.
"Oh it's on." Korra said.
After a few minutes of saying goodbye to Maite and Elaine when they went to, at this time, get ready to get dinners, Emerald offered this.
"Hey, considering you two are helping out a lot, maybe tomorrow if I'm free, maybe I could treat you two to a good meal for keeping an eye on the Squirts here, you two did a lot to help so figured it would be nice to repay this with full stomachs and stuff." Emerald said when he grins at the duo near the door to his apartment.
Maite blinks a bit as Elaine chuckles.
"Why Emerald, is that a date I hear?" She teased.
"Hehe, maybe, until Wave gets that key fixed up, unless there is a sudden clue and stuff popping up, we would have free time so… why not?... may as well consider it a date… that is if you two want." Emerald said with his own grin when he teased back… hey when you deal with Rouge, you gain a tolerance to teases unless they hit hard.
Maite was surprised to hear that as Elaine smirks.
"Well I don't mind. What about you Maite?"
Maite blushes a bit for a moment.
"S-Sure… I'm cool with that."
"Nice… I'll talk to you two later so why don't we swap contact information?" Emerald said while he pulled out a phone from his pocket… hey he didn't use Cynthia for calls all the time since she had to be put on charge sometimes… still it was a nice looking touch screen phone.
Maite blushes again as she gave Emerald her number as Elaine did the same.
"Hope you call us soon, handsome."
"Hehe, you better believe I will beautiful if we don't get called for this case that is… until than, see you two later." Emerald said with a grin as he winked at the two ladies.
Maite and Elaine blushes before they say bye to Emerald and went on their way.
After Emerald closed his door… he jolts when he looked to see Korra and Cream giving him amused looks.
"Wow Mr. Emerald, getting a date like that?, guess Korra was right about you." Cream said while Emerald looks confused as he glanced at Korra.
"Oh really… what did she tell you about me?" Emerald asked while he worried Korra said something bad about him.
"How you're very nice with the ladies." Cream said.
"Oh yeah… bet she said more given her… spunky nature." Emerald said while Cream giggles.
"Oh yeah… a lot but it was mainly nice things." Cream said while Emerald hums as he gave an I'm watching you look to Korra.
All Korra did was smirk at Emerald like she was challenging him.
Emerald grumbles more as he walked to his kitchen.
"Anyway I'll be contacting Wave while I make some food so try and not bug me while you two play more smash… may as well make sure you two are warmed up… I play a mean Sora game since he came out recently… either that or Hero from the DQ series or Link." Emerald said while he had a challenging grin… guess he mained as sword users… or sword like with the recently download DLC character Sora.
"Oh we'll warm up alright. Come on Cream, let's practice." Korra said.
Cream nods as Emerald rolls his eyes as he entered the kitchen to make a sandwich… he asked Cynthia, since he forgot to ask at the cafe, if she could get a number of Wave's from an online phone book or something and call her if she was able.
Funny enough…
"Don't worry Emerald, I was able to get Wave's number as you two talked at the cafe." Cynthia said.
"Hehe, what would I do without you Cynthia." Emerald thought while Cynthia hums.
"Either a hobo or die in a ditch?" Cynthia bluntly said making Emerald balk.
"Gee… thanks for the vote of confidence." Emerald thought as Cynthia giggles a bit.
"You're welcome." Cynthia said.
"Oh just call Wave already…" Emerald thought as Cynthia giggles again and in no time, a call tone was heard for a minute with rings being heard in Emerald's head… in no time he heard Wave's voice when she picked up on her end.
"Hello, this is Wave." Wave said.
"Hey Wave, Emerald here, managed to get your number thanks to a secret weapon of mine managing to get your number when we met, we met at the cafe and stuff… how is the key working coming along?... pretty sure its going well with that sexy brain of yours right?" Emerald thought while his voice was heard normally on Wave's end through her phone.
Wave, though surprised at Emerald's resourcefulness,, lightly blushes a bit before smirking.
"Nice to hear from you Emerald. As for the key… still a work in progress."
"I see… well given the tone, probably not as much of a issue as I may think… hey listen, I have these two kids who want to tag along to meet with you, one is Korra, daughter of the chief of the Station Square Police Department and the other one is someone you know, Cream the Rabbit, apparently she is having extreme gear trouble so think I can bring them along to you when I come and check on the progress of the key in two days?" Emerald asked while he continues making his meal.
Wave was a bit surprised.
"Wait… Cream is there and the Police Chief's daughter? Her name is Korra right? Got some fanmail from her."
"Huh… didn't know she had your mailing address… wonder if she used her dad's credentials without me knowing… anyway if its not too much trouble, think I could bring them with me when we meet in two days?, I'll make it up to you with a meal or something… either at a restaurant or handmade by yours truly and what not, as for Cream, she is Korra's friend, and Korra is the police chief's daughter… not sure what she said in her letters but she isn't a little angel… more like a mischievous devil when not around her dad hehe." Emerald said before chucking as he put the last touches on his sandwich.
Wave did chuckle on the other line.
"Well not much of a babysitter but I don't mind seeing Cream. As for Korra. Can't say no to a fan. Hopefully this… meal date you have would have us… alone… say… your place?" She said with a smirk.
"Well… I would have to ask Cream's mom if Korra could spend the night at Cream's but I'm sure that can be arranged… either that or I could ask a couple co-workers I work with named Maite and Elaine to help out… good friends with them… maybe more since they did watch after Cream and Korra and going on a date with them tomorrow… again… love that Echidna tradition hehe… hope you don't mind… and if not we can just do this as a pure business thing with me getting the key and paying for your services… lets try in either case to not talk about the details of the key or case much… Korra may know a bit thanks to her being a bit… snoopish… and Cream may have heard some conversations but I try and not go into details about cases like this… this one is… wow levels of twisted… and kids shouldn't have to go through that…" Emerald said while he got a bit serious at the end when he remembered the state Kimba was in and wouldn't let Korra or Cream know details about that at all…vague details sure like a guy was killed and Emerald had a clue in the works… but that was most likely it.
Wave blinks a bit when she hears how serious Emerald is.
"R-Right… I maybe a badass but, with the way crime is, no kid should see things."
"Yeah… anyway see you in a couple days… if things go well could plan a date with a beautiful brainy Rogue and if not… still a nice sight to see later for a simple visit… talk to you later Wave, need to eat now and get ready to play some smash with Cream and Korra to pass the time… no other clues yet with the case besides the key so I'm counting on you and that brain of yours… got any questions before I hang up?" Emerald said before he placed his sandwich and some chips on a plate.
"No… though Storm is still trying to remember that bird mobian you mentioned. If you find clues about that one, try telling us this? Maybe it'll jog his memory." Wave said.
"Hehe… I'll do one better… after I end the call, I'll ask Cedric, Korra's dad and chief to see if I can bring a copy of the video I got from the security cameras at twinkle park… maybe a bit dim but the duo in the video are pretty noticeable." Emerald said while he had a grin on his face.
Wave was a bit surprised to hear that.
"Wow… if you pull that off, I may as well give you a big reward."
"Hmmm… this one a fun thing we can do while Storm looks at the video?... can put it on loop if he has trouble seeing things and needs to focus." Emerald teased while he went to get a drink.
Wave chuckled on the line.
"Could work for me. He really likes to focus."
"Great, see you later Wave, I'll see you later with Korra and Cream, maybe you and Cream after you tune Cream's extreme gear could show her some tricks and stuff and have Korra bug her dad for an extreme gear… I need to hang up now, my stomach is calling me so bye Wave." Emerald said before Cynthia hung up and on Wave's end while she looks at the Key she got that was in some kind of special machine that had the key floating in it as some special silver substance worked to fill out missing bits on the key at a slow rate and Wave smiles when she put her phone down as she approached the machine with a grin.
"Hehe… May as well get cracking. Got a hot date soon." Wave said.
Comically as she said that, she heard gagging and looked to see Jet entering her room.
"Ugh… still crushing on that Fox police detective guy?, was that him on the phone?" Jet said while he looks at the hey floating in the air in the machine as he watched the silver substance mess with the key more.
"And what if it is? You have to get over it Jet. Anyway, he'll be coming with that rabbit girl Cream and the Police Chief's daughter in two days. So don't mess this up." Wave said.
Jet gave Wave a half lidded look.
"Wave… Cream aside since we know her a little… you just said police chief's daughter… Extreme gear stuff aside… you know how much stolen goods we have here in your room alone?... try explaining to your detective boyfriend on where you got some of these if he starts asking… we're thieves Wave… try and remember that… only reason we're even humoring this guy is because we are not murderers and what not… I'll keep my beak shut on him doing things here as long as it gets you in the clear but if he causes you trouble, well… we Rogues back eachother up and Storm and I won't hesitate to break that guys bones if he makes you cry, you're like a sister to Storm and I after all." Jet said while he crossed his arms and reminded Wave that current situation aside and extreme gear tournaments… they were a family of thieves who stole from people and ancient places sometimes.
"I appreciate your worries Jet but all Emerald wants is the condition of the key. My room will be under lock and key. No one goes in there but me." Wave said.
Jet kept quiet about that since he was in her room as well but he did say this as he shrugged.
"Fine… I'll trust you… but you better believe it that if he talks his way into your pants, don't blame me if I cause a scene later, I remember the way you looked and stuff when he flirted with you… just remember birth control and condoms and hopefully you can keep that guy distracted from the more… private things we have under lock and key… in the meantime I'll be going around and asking contacts I know in the underworld on this mystery bird woman and if anyone saw anything about her around Twinkle park recently… your boyfriend maybe good as a detective if he works for the police chief but I doubt he can get info where I'm heading… not going to let one my own get suspected for murder if I can help it." Jet said as he walked towards Wave's door after cracking his neck.
Wave waited till Jet was gone before sighing as she had this thought.
'He really needs a girlfriend. He still hasn't got over the fact that Blaze is now dating Sonic.'
Meanwhile after Emerald played many rounds of Smash with Korra and Cream… barely getting a win or two on them since they liked to tag team against Emerald while he had a CPU ally… the time went to much later with Emerald walking Korra after school towards Vanilla's home.
"So Korra… you ready for a night at Cream's place?... got your toothpaste, toothbrush, clothes for tomorrow?, your Switch and stuff?... clean underwear?" Emerald said while pulling an embarrassing parent moment at the end to tease Korra a little when he grins at her though she did a spinning back kick on Emerald knocking the wind out of him while Korra blushed as Emerald fell to the ground while losing a few rings.
"Dude… never ask that last part." Korra said as she was blushing brightly.
"R-Right… can't blame me… part comedy… part me remembering that camping trip you went on and I had to get called because you lost your suitcase…" Emerald muttered as he worked to pick himself up off the ground and rubbed his stomach.
Korra blushes more.
"L-Let's not bring that up again." She said.
"Fair enough… come on, lets get going, and in case you did forget anything, hopefully Cream can share an outfit with you… HAHAHA!" Emerald said and he ran ahead as he dodged a kick from Korra while she blushed up a storm.
Though as the door of Cream's home was knocked on… Cream answered the door and smiles when she saw a blushing Korra… and a twitching Emerald while he was on her stairs while he looked like he got beaten up.
"Mr. Emerald?... are you OK?" Cream said while she looks worried as Emerald shakingly held a hand up.
"I-I will be… in a minute…" Emerald muttered while he twitched more on the ground.
Cream blinks a bit before looking at Korra.
"Don't ask." Korra said.
Cream blinks again but shrugged as she and Korra dragged Emerald inside by the ankles and he groans while Vanilla, who had a cane oddly enough, walked into the room while she had a slight limp… seems the cane helped her walked a bit.
"Cream?, everything OK?" Vanilla asked while she walked over to the trio and blinks when she saw Emerald.
"Oh my… what happened to you?" Vanilla said while Emerald chuckles.
"Firecracker accident." Emerald said as he worked to pick himself up off the ground and dusts himself off and looks at Vanilla.
"Looking good as always Vanilla, been a bit since we last met… last sleepover I think… your leg doing better?" Emerald asked while Vanilla smiles.
"Oh yes, need to have my leg brace repaired though, so using this to help me get around." Vanilla said while Emerald nods his head.
"I see… well I'm here to drop Korra off so she can spend the night here like we talked about over the phone, again thanks for the help Vanilla, sorry if Korra gives you trouble… remember Korra… don't give Vanilla issues alright?... I know you may roll your eyes when I say this but she is willing to let you spend a day or two here if you want since she thinks you and Cream are like sisters, so try and not treat her like you treat me." Emerald said while Vanilla blinks.
"She doesn't treat you like your her father?" Vanilla asked while Emerald gave her a half lidded look.
"I wish… sometimes I feel like I'm a punching bag to her." Emerald said while he grins at Korra in a teasing way.
Korra has a half lidded look.
"Hey, when you tease… you get whacked. Other times, shows I care."
"Yeah when it comes to you and ice cream." Emerald said as Vanilla giggles.
"Hehe, well at least you two get along well enough to tease one another like this, anyway don't worry Emerald, I'll treat Korra like she is my own daughter, sometimes she feels like it, so don't worry about her." Vanilla said while she pets Korra on the head.
Korra did blush from that as Cream giggles.
Emerald chuckles as he looks at Vanilla.
"Still thanks, if you need anything, don't hesitate to call me, a nice lady like you deserves all the help she can get and I'm not saying that just because you are good looking… honestly many can agree a person with a heart like yours deserves help when asked… feels like a sin to not return favors to you." Emerald said with a grin on his face while Vanilla blushed a bit from this.
Korra almost gag.
"Come on man."
"What?... you know me… when I see a beautiful woman in heart and soul, can't help but flirt… anyway I'll see you later pipsqueak, try and not drive Vanilla up the wall or something." Emerald said as he pets Korra on the head with a gentle smile on his face before he left the Vanilla residence to get ready for his date with Elaine and Maite.
Korra blushes before muttering.
"I'll show you who's a pipsqueak."
Cream and Vanilla giggle at this while Vanilla turns to head to the kitchen.
"Come on Korra… lets get you settled while I make some snacks since Cream wanted to show you a movie she found." Vanilla said while she walked/hobbled towards the kitchen.
Korra was concerned for the elder rabbit.
"Do you need some help?" She said.
Vanilla smiles when she heard that.
"Thank you, if you want to help, you may." Vanilla said as Korra moved to help Vanilla make some food while Cream went to set some things up for later.
As this happened, Emerald met up with Maite and Elaine after Emerald changed outfits to a suit and stuff while he saw that Maite and Elaine wore one piece dresses.
"*Whistles*... wow, you two look good." Emerald said while he thought.
"Cynthia… mind taking a pic that I can print out later?" Emerald asked while he sounds excited.
Cynthia rolls her metaphorical eyes at the request but did it anyway as Maite smiles a bit while blushing.
"T-Thanks Emerald. You look handsome."
"Thanks… anyway I made a reservation at a classy restaurant nearby so if you two ladies could follow me…" Emerald said while he grins at the two women while gesturing for them to follow him.
Elaine chuckled.
"This will be a very interesting date." She said as she and Maite follow Emerald.
When they did, they went to a restaurant called the Chaotic ring and after some time waiting in a line… Elaine and Maite were surprised when they wound up in the VIP area of the restaurant and Emerald pulled out some chairs for the duo.
The duo did smiles at the gesture before taking their seats.
"Wow… you really surprised us Emerald." Elaine said.
"What?, pulling a chair out for the ladies should be an obvious thing." Emerald said when he grins at the duo when he moved to push the duo in and he moved to sit in his own chair.
Elaine playfully rolls her eyes.
"I meant the VIP, Mr. Joker."
"Hehe, well when you're a private detective when not working for the SSPD, you can save up a ton of rings which make a VIP area like this simple to get into." Emerald said while he smiles at the duo.
Elaine and Maite were surprised to hear that.
"Wow, that's interesting Emerald. Guess you can get in at any place now." Maite said.
"Well… there are exceptions and a few would be unwilling women, I don't force myself in unwilling women after all… unless I need to… interrogate them… works better than you may think." Emerald teased while winking at Maite.
Maite blushes a bit as Elaine smirks.
"Oh ho… that would be nice to see. Could be an interesting… roleplay for you. If you're into that." She said.
"Hehe, Oh I believe I can enjoy something like that if things get that far." Emerald said while he grins at Elaine as he, Elaine, and Maite got their menus.
"Wow… talk about good selections." Maite said.
"Yeah, looks good." Elaine said as Emerald chuckles.
"Well lets get some good eats and what not." Emerald said as he looks at the food and the trio ordered their meals.
Once they finished, talked more, ate their food and what not… Emerald walked the duo from the restaurant.
"Man that was some good food." Emerald said while he used a chopstick on his teeth.
"I know… hmmm… that was a great steak." Maite said.
"Don't forget the duck." Elaine said with a content look.
"Yeah… in case either of you see Wave after I talk with her tomorrow… try and not mention that… not sure if duck is OK with her being a bird type Mobian." Emerald said when he worried she may take offense to that.
"Yeah… good point." Elaine said as she sweatdrops.
"Yeah… anyway after we leave, what are you planning on doing later." Maite said as Emerald hums.
"Hmmm… well I did contact Rouge earlier… she said she managed to talk Amy Rose into meeting with me, not sure if you two personally know her and stuff… figured I could try and cheer her up." Emerald said when he looks at the duo who look surprised.
"You mean Maite's cousin?" Elaine said while Emerald blinks.
"Say what now?" Emerald said while looking at Maite with some surprise.
Maite scratched her cheek a bit.
"Yeah… she's my cousin." She said before he pulls a picture out of her purse and shows it to Emerald which was revealed to be a family reunion.
Emerald took the picture and saw it was taken a year ago and he saw that Amy was getting hugged by Maite with one arm… seems the duo won a 3 legged race… Amy seemed… surprisingly disinterested while she had a cigarette in her mouth, she wore a tank top and cargo pants with her iconic boots… she looked just as beautiful as Maite but the look on her face seemed… stoic.
"Wow, can see the resemblance… though guess she got over Sonic at this point in time and didn't have much going for her if that look on her face is any indication." Emerald said while he passed Maite the picture back.
Maite sighs.
"You have no idea. She was really hooked on Sonic but seeing that he was dating Blaze made her stop. Was hoping she moved on and found someone better. Almost reminds me of my sister's predicament. But she handled it much better."
"Your sister?... you know what, I can ask later, for now you OK if I see her and stuff?... I know a few people who maybe able to go in my place and stuff… I'm curious though, how come she didn't just have Sonic shared between Blaze and herself?... Echidna tradition and what not." Emerald asked while he looks curious.
"Yeah… I'm not sure she's the sharing type. She wanted Sonic for herself so I don't think that tradition might work on her." Maite said.
"Either that or its just Sonic himself, maybe she wanted to be first to get him and stuff?... still may as well try and cheer her up so got any advice?" Emerald asked while he walked the duo to Elaine's car.
Maite was thoughtful as Elaine tried to think of ideas.
"Well… the park is still off limits but maybe a movie?" Elaine said.
"Could work… better try and avoid romances though just in case." Emerald said as he got the duo to the car and he opened the door for the ladies.
"Well I'll see you ladies tomorrow as long as Wave did a good job with the key, wish me luck with Amy and stuff… if I'm not seen for hours… either expect me to be kidnapped into a bedroom or just waking if I piss her off and she uses her hammer." Emerald said before chuckling at the duo… though he did kiss their cheeks to say goodbye for now officially.
Both ladies blushes from that.
"Well take care Emerald. Hope no lost person signs will be seen." Elaine said.
Emerald nods as he closed Maite's door last and as Elaine drove away, she looks amused while looking at a blushing Maite.
