A scene opens up and Atomsk and TME were talking.
"Good to be back." Atomsk said.
"Yup, good to be back… lets get the plot part of the way?... last I remember Amy got her payback on Sonic and stuff and boy did Blaze look irked from all of this… and last we checked, Knuckles is looking at a Key or a picture of a symbol for said key right?" TME said while he looks at Atomsk with a confused look since its been awhile.
"Yup and also Knuckles is dating Sally." Atomsk said.
"Yup… a rare combo given that we rarely used that… anything else before we get to the possible ideas of how this story can go?" TME asked while he rubs his chin.
"Uh yeah, looks like Azure is finally gonna show since someone told the FBI about Emerald's case. Not sure if there's international/extraterrestrial jurisdiction but maybe the FBI tries to take that case since Kimba is a diplomat of sorts. Also, looks like Cedric was an extreme gear rider in his youth. Things got more interesting now." Atomsk said.
"Indeed… anyway there are a few ideas you had about adding some characters here to this story right?... mind explaining one?... think you said there was a character from the comics called… Surge or something?" TME said while he looks thoughtful… he wasn't a comic guy so characters like Surge threw him off.
"Oh yeah. I haven't seen much Sonic comics but I saw some regarding Surge and she's a badass, including her partner that's like a very sad version of Tails… with water. Look how they dealt with Metal." Atomsk sakd as he shows TME a comic strip.
"Huh… interesting… though pretty sure Robotnik will make him water and elecproof next time since there are not many elemental based users in the Sonic world besides Blaze as far as I know… not counting Silver since that is more psychokenesis than Elemental based power… though he could lift water I bet with his mind…" TME said while he rubs his chin.
"Maybe… either way, I feel we should use Surge. Can be like an experiment before we think of using her in other Sonic fics just in case." Atomsk said before remembering something.
"As for the other, what if the mystery bird woman was someone who was in Cedric's past and that she was the reason Kimba died. It could force Cedric off the case if they thought he knew something." Atomsk said.
"Maybe… doubt they would force Cedric off the case… guy is chief of the Station Square police department after all… doubt he leaves the office much aside matters of great importance." TME points out since the Chief was mainly the brains of the police department.
"True but you never know with people of great power. I could say more but we have a story to do." Atomsk said.
"True… for now though we should work on Emerald getting more clues for the case though, did we have… oh wait… I remember one thing… didn't we have Cynthia set up a date with Emerald and Vanilla last chapter before all the lemons went down?... hmmm… maybe we could do this… have Emerald and Vanilla date, in the middle some people, goons maybe looking for the key that Emerald got if they heard about it… maybe moles in the SSPD tipping them off, and what not… could show Emerald in combat and stuff… may not have powers but he does have Cynthia to back him up and Emerald does have some weapons he could use." TME suggests since as far as he knew, not many combat scenes.
Atomsk was thoughtful.
"Works for me. Could be interesting."
"Yup… can't have all the story be loving and stuff, need to have drama and mystery since this was inspired by the game Somnium files… this maybe the final chapter before things kick off… where did we last left off though?" TME said while he looks at the last Discord file chapter.
"Well Blaze left Sonic at his apartment. No breakup… yet but Sonic would definitely be in a depressed state now regarding her and Amy. Speaking of, seems Amy wants Sonic to suffer badly." Atomsk said.
"Well either that or Amy is wanting to see how Sonic does from here on… says here Amy said she was curious on if Sonic can keep calm around Emerald and her… pretty much Amy got her payback… everything else is gravy if Sonic screws up his relationship with Blaze… no more Amy wanting things, just expecting one or two outcomes." TME clarified in case people get the wrong idea.
"Right… anyway… I think we should get started. Depending on the time frame, we can focus Cedric's side for a bit or go day later to the date." Atomsk said.
"Actually I think we can do both… I did say that Cynthia set up a date with Emerald and Vanilla for tomorrow… but did we say in the chapter on when Azure would return in the chapter?" TME asked since this idea hitched on when Azure would return.
"Hmmm… I think a day. Given Azure's mission with the FBI." Atomsk said.
"Right so we go to the Day Azure returns which is the same day as Emerald and Vanilla's date." TME said when he was done with deciding on time frames now.
"Yeah that works." Atomsk said.
"Good." TME said as the scene shifts to Emerald waking with Amy in his arms…
Mobius/ Station square/ Emerald's room
"Hmmm…" Emerald muttered as he woke pretty early today since he was a bit excited to meet with Vanilla… unfortunately the time was well before the date… nothing on getting ready early though…
Emerald looks at Amy while he smiles at her… Wave had to head to her home since she was still a Babylon rogue and had to work on some things at her place… he looks to see the time and saw it was 10 minutes before the alarm starts so he gently kissed Amy on her head a few times to try and wake her gently.
Amy moans.
"5 more minutes, Emy dear."
"Oh but Amy… got 10 minutes before the alarm wakes you… just to check you have work today right?" Emerald asked while he gently pets Amy on her waist.
Amy groans before getting up.
"Yeah I do. I rather be a house girlfriend. At least I'm the only face you see when you come home."
Well sometimes… remember Korra?, may as well be our adopted daughter hehe… maybe you should spend time with her to get use to having a daughter of sorts." Emerald said in a teasing way as he snuggles with Amy to help cheer her up.
Amy did giggle.
"Well I am good with kids." She said as she felt better.
"Right… I need to get ready for my date with Vanilla though so I'll let you rest… or maybe we could help get one another clean before we leave for work?" Emerald said while he lightly nipped at Amy's neck teasingly.
Amy shudders before smirking.
"Take me to that bathroom stud. I'll get you… extra clean."
Emerald growls in an exciting way when he heard that… after he stopped the alarm and carried Amy to the bathroom, they took an hour or so to get… clean… and left the bathroom with Amy in a better mood wore her usual pink tank top and Cargo pants with her iconic shoes… after she ate breakfast knocking was heard at the door and when it opened, Korra, Cream, and Storm came by while Emerald looks confused.
"Hey Storm, you walk the duo here this early?" Emerald asked while he wondered where Vanilla was as Cream smiles.
"Yeah, Storm here was asked by momma to watch us… she said she has to get ready for today, she seemed to be in a good mood for some reason." Cream said while Emerald chuckles.
"Well Cream… thanks to some talk with cupid lending a hand… I managed to ask your mom on a date, believe it or not." Emerald said while he grins at Cream.
Cream was surprised.
"Really?" She said making Korra smirks.
"I don't think Emerald kid around like that. If things go well… may as well call him Papa Emerald."
"Hehe, well if things get that far Korra… may as well call Cream a sister in Law if anything does happen… your like an adopted daughter of mine after all… Amy may try and pamper you if you're not careful since she may live here a lot instead of her usual home." Emerald said while he grins at Korra.
Korra jolts when she heard that making Cream giggle and Storm chuckle.
After the announcement was made and things calmed… Storm looks at Emerald moved to poke him on the shoulder… Emerald was curious when Storm moved to whisper to Emerald while making sure it was low enough Cream couldn't pick it up.
''I think I know who the bird woman is. Name is Nami." Storm whispers.
Emerald got a somewhat serious look on his face.
"You serious?" Emerald whispered back as Storm nods.
"Yeah… took me a bit to remember her… the scar I heard about with the different colored eyes confused me, but after some time looking at that video, it clicked… Nami is a mobian similar to Jet, Wave, and me… I could be wrong but I haven't seen anyone else in the underworld with traits like hers… Jet called me earlier to ask me on if this was the right Nami… she is…" Storm said while Emerald nods.
"Great… I'll talk with Cedric later… thanks for the info Storm, you may have just helped this case immensely… still need to figure out who that other figure was… but if we find Nami… unless that was a simple goon… we should find the guy as well…" Emerald said before he grins.
"Well Storm considering you helped dropped the kids off this early, want some breakfast?... my treat for the good deed." Emerald said while giving Storm a message that he would give Storm a reward for the info.
"Hehe, sure. I can eat." Storm said.
Emerald nods before he moved to make more food, as Storm sits on a chair, Storm, Korra, Cream, and Emerald got ready to eat since Emerald didn't eat yet as Amy looks at Cream.
"See you later Cream, hopefully you and Korra will get to school safely with your big strong bodyguard here." Amy said while she tapped Storm on the chest with her knuckles lightly.
Storm blushes as Korra grins.
"We'll get there alright and any thugs get to us, I got two dads that can take care of them."
"Ah!... you hear that Amy, Korra think I'm a good Father!" Emerald dramatically said while he had a hand on his chest.
Korra blush when she realizes what she said making Cream giggle.
"Then I guess Mrs. Amy would be your other mommy too."
"Hehe, oh like you wouldn't enjoy it Cream… after all if I get in a relationship with Vanilla, Amy would as well… making her a fun stepmom or something for you as well… gotta admit… a crazy yet fun family tree." Emerald said with a grin on his face.
Cream blushes making Storm chuckle.
"Now this is funny."
"Not as funny as Vanilla making you blush a lot Storm." Korra said making Emerald blink.
"Oh really?... well know I asked her out first big guy so want to try and wow Vanilla, will need to wait for your turn." Emerald said with an amused grin.
Storm jolt making Amy chuckle.
"Seems Vanilla is more popular than we thought."
"Well to be fair she is a lovely woman so I'm not surprised she has the eyes of others… but I will say this Storm… I will do everything I can to win her heart… what sayeth thou in your means of winning her over besides thous skills with the Extreame gear and strength!" Emerald said before going WAAAAY midevil in the way he talked for dramatic effect.
Storm was confused.
"What?" He said making Korra sweatdrop.
"No one talks like that like… at all."
Emerald sweatdrops as he had a half lidded look.
"OK… truce before things get comical, Storm?... I take Vanilla out first as intended, you ask her out on a date and we see who does better, deal?" Emerald said while he held a hand out for Storm to shake.
"Oh okay." Storm said as he shook Emerald's hand before remembering something.
"Wait what about that Croc man that likes her?"
"Croc man?" Emerald asked for a moment before he looks at Cream.
"He talking about Vector right?... what about him?" Emerald asked while Cream looks thoughtful.
"Well… Momma and Vector tried to date a few times but for some reason they stopped seeing one another… not sure why… heard he was dating this nice Alligator woman though." Cream said with a smile on her face.
"Really? Well that's good for him." Amy said.
"Yup, though not sure if Mr. Vector goes with the Echidna tradition so he could try and come for Mama… honestly I'm would be surprised if Mr. Vector doesn't try something with Momma… feels like one of those Drama's I watch." Cream said while many sweatdrop.
"What kind of Drama do you watch for that?... know what… I'll ask later… for now you all should finish eating and let Storm take you to school… I need to head to the SSPD to talk with Cedric on serious business and Amy has to get back to her construction work." Emerald said showing everyone would be busy now.
"Yeah… though I want to know what you saw." Korra said.
"You mean the Drama?... oh I can talk about it at school during Lunch, Momma gave me a large boxed lunch for the two of us to share." Cream said showing her backpack had a large box like bag next to it.
"Nice. Let's go!" Korra said before Storm escorted Korra and Cream to school.
"Guess I'll see you later, Emy." Amy said.
"See you… after I stop by the SSPD, wish me luck with Vanilla and stuff." Emerald said as he kissed Amy goodbye as he went to lock the door after he and Amy got fully ready and Emerald got dressed and he left for the SSPD after getting Cynthia when she got last minute charging… when he got there he looks confused when he saw a few people looking a bit worried or rushed as he walked through the precinct and when he got to Cedric's office, he knocked to see if Cedric was inside.
"Come in Emerald." Said a voice belonging to Cedric.
Emerald was a bit surprised Cedric recognized him when he wasn't in the room yet… guess Cedric got a knack for knowing a person by the knocking sounds… when Emerald entered, he saw Cedric looking a bit worried as he looks at various papers.
"Uhhh… hey Cedric, how you uh… doing?... why does the entire building feel like its about to have the worst day of its life?" Emerald asked since he saw many people rushing here or there.
"Well… with the FBI coming, they're gonna try to take over the case considering that Kimba is a diplomat of sorts. He might be from another planet but FBI has their own special field there." Cedric said as he grumbles.
"I'm gonna kill the bastard that told them our case."
"Well I guess I should tell them that if they want a good clue I found out about recently, they should keep us in the Case at least since I've been working hard to get clues when I can." Emerald said with a grin when he walked to the desk.
"Found a name on one of the perps that killed Kimba thanks to Storm and Jet… her name is Nami… made double sure about that." Emerald said with a fanged grin on his face.
Cedric blinked when he heard that.
"Nami?… odd hearing a name like that reminds me of an old friend I knew. Odds are slim."
"Well if you knew that Nami, doubt she would be the same as the Nami I'm hearing of, scar on her stomach area or side, and different colored eyes on her head… bird mobian similar to the Babylon Rogues as well." Emerald said while he had his hands in his pockets.
However… Cedric's eyes widened.
"S-Scar to the side… no." He said before he went to his drawer and pulled out a photo of sorts.
"Emerald… tell me this isn't her." He said as he shows Emerald a picture.
Turns out it was him when he was into extreme gear in his younger years and he was with two girls. One that looked like Sally Acorn, maybe a relative and the other…
"Uh…. want me to lie or shut it?... because I can't exactly say she doesn't look like the person on the video… granted a bit dark but uh… yeah… sorry Cedric but that woman looks a lot like this one here if the features match." Emerald said while he rubs his head when the person on the picture, no with details despite being a bit younger looking was indeed one of the two perps… Nami… she had almost black feathers, different colored eyes, and had a scar on her side matching the scar with Nami in the Video.
Cedric grumbles.
"Shit… what the hell did she got herself into? And before you ask Emerald, I haven't spoken to her in years. Not since the last time the three of us raced."
"Well that would explain who that person is than." A female voice said making the duo jolt and look back to see a Black furred cat mobian woman with blood red eyes, red highlights in her fure, and had a serious expression on her face… she looked a lot like Korra.
"Huh… who is this lovely lady?... looks a lot like Korra for some reason though…" Emerald said when he rubs his chin.
Cedric sighs.
"Emerald… say hello to Korra's mother, my wife, Azure."
"Wait what?" Emerald said with wide eyes as Azure walked forward with an amused look.
"Indeed, I'm the one with the firepower Korra inherited… so better watch it Fox boy otherwise I maybe too much for you to handle since I may have to reward you for keeping an eye… well one organic at least on Korra… sorry you had to put up with a fireball like her… she can be a bit of a handful sometimes… especially since you got her some extreme gear…" Azure said while Emerald blinks.
"H-How…" Emerald tried to ask while Azure raised an eyebrow.
"FBI… we can get a lot of info from traffic cameras… more so we're allowed to given the recent killing of an ambassador… while I would give some issues, we have more pressing matters now than Korra having a way to at least get home safely since without her firepowers, would be just a speedy kitten compared to Cedric and I." Azure states while she had a hand on her hip.
Cedric was sweating bullets.
"R-Right… it's lovely to see you here, honey. You look great." He said but felt he was in trouble.
"Thank you dear…. Oh and thank you for this… once I get this Nami person and the Video to make a good aged up picture with your departments perp drawers, we can get to work in locating this Nami person, if she is the same person working in the underground, should be simple to find her as long as we are careful in doing so…" Azure said as she took the picture of Cedric, Nami, and the Chipmunk Mobian woman from Cedric and carefully pockets it.
"Hold on… what about us with the case?" Emerald asked while Azure hums.
"Well considering Cynthia is both a byproduct of police tech and FBI tech if Cedric never told you, may as well have you continue the case since your doing well in locating clues… Cedric and the rest however… aside from video work and autopsies… were you able to find anything else of importance for the case?" Azure asked while she crossed her arms.
Cedric rubbed the back of his head as he felt beyond troubled now.
"Well, Cynthia and Emerald reported that there was a key of sorts inside the body. It was of Echidna origin from the looks of it."
"We already know that, sent a few agents to Angel Island to help Knuckles with sorting out things since a few agents are well studied in ancient Echidian… I also sent a few agents to guard Korra's school just in case… I also made a call thanks to Cynthia in talking with Wave of the Babylon Rogues and she agreed to make us a copy of the key as long as we don't bother her or her team much… granted will still keep an eye on them based on past activities but if they can help with this case, can overlook the more… theft of ruins type stuff they did recently…" Azure said while Emerald blinks and gave Cynthia a irked thought.
"And when did that talk happen?" Emerald thought since he figured Cynthia would tell him something important like that.
Cynthia chuckles nervously.
"When you and Amy slept. Azure told me not to say a word when she got there."
"Traitor." Emerald thought as he went back to look at Azure while she said this.
"I'll be taking command of this mission from now on Cedric, got approval by the Government to do so, not like I don't trust you but I have some reports saying that there maybe moles in your department since some reports are not making sense when we dig some info up on some reports… and no I'm not talking about the guy I have working here, he just makes sure that things are going well and if this Emerald guy tries anything with Korra, I would come there instantly and burn him to a crisp." Azure said while Emerald blinks.
"Are you calling me… lady I see Korra like a step daughter!... don't care if you're FBI… I could sue your ass if you make accusations with no proof on that, I can use the damn law myself!" Emerald growls while he didn't like being called a pedofile with Korra of all kids.
Cedric slams his fist on his desk.
"Enough… Azure, Emerald has taken care of Korra for us. He would never do anything inappropriate to her. Besides, I had Cynthia make sure she tells me anything if something bad happened to her."
"I see, well my apologies Emerald, it's just been awhile since I saw my daughter… though considering the stuff I heard about you… Amy… Wave… soon to be Vanilla the Rabbit… couldn't blame me for getting a bit worried… there was even a date with Maite and Elaine that you had with them… can't really blame me for getting a bit cautious." Azure said while Emerald sweatdrops when he couldn't say much about that.
Cedric did have a sad look as he goes to his wife and hugs her.
"There there, love. I know you mean well. Korra has missed us terribly. Maybe after her school finishes, I can have someone bring her here or we pick her up ourselves. Give a little surprise."
"Hmmm maybe… why not let Emerald do that since I doubt his date with Vanilla will take long… aside from getting a suspects name and a few clues… nothing else on his plans for today right?" Azure said as Emerald raised a hand.
"You…" Emerald said as he lowered his hand.
"Got a freaking point…" Emerald muttered while he couldn't counter what Azure said… seems Azure had a win for everything she said.
"Then it's settled. Sorry Emerald but right now, since I can't do any, you have to help assist the FBI with the case. I mean I could call someone to ask if they saw Nami but that's all I can do since she and I haven't spoken for a long time." Cedric said.
Though before more could be said, the door was kicked opened making everyone jolt.
"OK who is the wise guy who fucking decided that the police won't be able to do jack shit!?" The trio heard making them look to see a rather aggressive female officer… closest thing the Mobian woman looked like was a Green quilled or at least Quill looking mobian who looked realy similar to a Hedgehog but she was actually a Mobian species, a rare one called a Tenrec… this was Surge the Tenrec, or just Surge on her ID tag… she was a weapon specialist of the SSPD who worked to make sure weapons were ready for use by any and all police officers to use… she had electic powers similar to Cedric but unlike Cedric she was more up close and personal with her powers unlike Cedric who was more reflex and stealth like in his use.
Cedric facepalm.
"Surge… what the hell?"
"I should be asking the same thing captain… I thought the FBI didn't have authority to take over cases unless it was a serious matter that involved more than just a town." Surge said while Azure raised an eyebrow at her sparking body.
"New officer of yours Cedric?... looks a bit young and pretty rash since this deals with an ambassador who got killed in a grusome manner… she a rookie or something?" Azure said when she raised an eyebrow at Surge.
Surge raised an eyebrow.
"Do I look like a rookie toots?" She said.
"Surge!… Don't talk to my wife like that… remember what happened the last time you got in trouble… I'm sure we don't want a repeat." Credic said with a serious look.
"Hey first of all that guy had it coming since he grabbed my ass without permission… hell even if I did ignore it, guy was a slob who had it coming, I won that court case since evidence showed I was in the right to defend myself by slugging him as hard as I wanted… second your wife?... didn't know she worked for the Fucking FBI… am I suppose to show respect to her or something?... fuck that, you know me better than some Cedric and I don't give a shit on rank unless it earned… if she can kick my ass, fine I'll give her respect, if not than I'll say what I want to her and-Ugh!" Surge said as Azure sighs and with shocking speed moved to kick Surge in the gut and before Surge could move Azure had a foot on her stomach as she looks at Surge with a raised eyebrow.
"Before you call cheap shot… you were antagonizing me… am I suppose to ignore uncalled provocations… or do what you do and let my anger get the better of me like I did now?" Azure retorically asked while she gave Surge a look she wouldn't take shit from her more or less.
Surge struggles a bit making Cedric shake his head.
"Give up Surge. My wife can kick ass. She's a mega alpha blackbelt. It's a real rank." He said.
Surge however growls as she actually lit her body up with electrical power making Azure step back.
"Why you… why I auta…" Surge said while she stopped when Emerald aimed some kind of fancy looking gun at Surge's back while Cynthia was in her red eye mode.
"Easy there Surge… got a powerful tranq strong enough to knock even you out for a few hours… you know my aim better than most from making these guns with Shunpei's aid so you know I won't miss even if you move to avoid… so why not take a moment to calm down and we can all walk from here without making a scene." Emerald said while he pulled the hammer of the gun back while he gave Surge a look he would fire the tranq bullet if needed.
Surge grumbles a bit.
"Fine." She said before powering down.
Emerald takes a moment to see if Surge would pull anything and he grins when he puts his gun away.
"Well nice… considering I won a bet against you for a high score, would hate to not be able to cash it in if you were knocked out, may as well help with you calming down later after my date with Vanilla." Emerald said while he grins at Surge teasingly.
Surge would have blushed but scoffed.
"Dream on." She said.
Cedric sweatdrops.
"Enough with the flirting. Now Surge, aside from that dumbass move you tried to do, the Governor has agreed to let the FBI handle the Kimba case. All of us besides Emerald are not involved in this no more."
"Well depending on how things go, that could change, especially since my agents are a bit scattered handling various matters around Station Square like the Key with Knuckles and other places like Korra's school and the Babylon Rogues… Surge was it?... to show I'm not a complete issue with you, as long as you can follow through with a test or two of mine, I'll let you work on the case as long as you can do 3 things… first of all show your skills in a mock battle test with one of my agents… 2… see how well you follow orders… and 3… you pretty much work with Emerald here until I can decide where you work better at… a hot head like yourself needs to know this doesn't just effect station square… it can effect the entire world more or less… were dealing with a killer who killed an ambassador from another planet… if peace between two worlds is not important for the Government to get involved, I don't know what." Azure said when she gave Surge a serious look.
Surge was not phased by that.
"Fine. I'll play along."
"Good… we can start your test in 4 days… need to make sure we have all matters settled beforehand… until than try and act like a professional SSPD officer." Azure said as she pulled out some sunglasses from a pocket and put them on as she kissed Cedric on the lips.
A moment later she pulled back and smiles at Cedric.
"I'll see you later sweetie, I'll make sure that Korra makes it to Emerald's place later and if he isn't there… well I'll just play babysitter with my baby girl." Azure said while she moved to walk out of the room with swaying hips.
The trio watches Azure leave making Cedric chuckle lightly.
"So glad she's my wife."
Surge rolls her eyes as Emerald chuckles.
"Hehe, well you married her and know her best… tell you what Captain, why not take the day off at least since Cynthia tells me you have been running yourself ragged lately… no good will come from working day in and out… besides your wife seeing Korra you should be there as well to spend the day together as a family…" Emerald said before he looks at Surge.
"And Surge, try and give Cedric a break, guy is doing his best, you know him well enough he wouldn't give up the case without one hell of a fight right?" Emerald said while he looks at the easily irritable Tenrec.
Surge rolls her eyes.
"Yeah alright. Out of all the pussies here in this precinct, he I can respect."
"Hehe, nice… though I gotta say, what does it take for you to act mannered around someone?, honestly would be pretty hard to find a guy or girl that you may like… won't lie I wouldn't mind trying my hand later after my date with Vanilla… may not be powered like you or Cedric but I still have a killer shot with or without Cynthia so my skills are legit hehe." Emerald said as he looks at Cedric.
"Anyway Cedric I'll be going now, see you later, if you need anything, give me a call alright?" Emerald said while he starts to walk from the office.
Cedric sighs as he looks at Surge.
"Why must you always cause a ruckus Surge? You do know I do my best to look after you to not get in trouble."
"Yeah well I was raised to not take shit from anyone without good reason, why let these FBI guys walk all over you!?... FBI or wife or not, you never let others push you around like this, we had messier cases before so why makes this one so different besides an alien guy getting killed?" Surge said when she saw a lot of stuff so made sense why she was against the FBI, to her may as well have no business butting in on home turf stuff.
Cedric rubs his chin.
"Look, I love my wife but… you're not the only one not liking this. So far we have had things handled but some idiot tells the FBI about the case. I don't know what's going on but somethings up.
