Author's Note: So updating is going to be a bit erratic throughout this whole rewrite. I've got quite a few chapters to go through and I am a slow writer. But I do hope that ya'll are enjoying the new version!

Warning! Attempted assault in this chapter.

Chapter Two

After the vision, Chiron ordered a strict training regime for campers old and new. He had deemed the vision to be one foretelling of a new calamity and wanted all the campers to be prepared. Those that had been in the Second Titan War had immediately paired off, sparring and developing new strategies. Percy was busy with various requests from the Gods. Due to her receiving the vision, they believed her to be at the center of another prophecy and wanted to train her accordingly. Each night she would come back exhausted, much to the concern of Katie and Clarisse.

"You need to take a break Percy; this constant training isn't doing you any good." Katie stated tending to some small wounds.

"She's right, you'll be no use on the battlefield if you're exhausted." Clarisse tacked on.

"I know, but with no other clues, they want to be prepared for anything. Besides, Dad is going to train me today, so it won't be that bad." Percy explained smiling at her friends.

"Yeah, your old man won't be trying to pound you into the ground." Clarisse cackled, knowing how some of the Gods were infatuated with her friend.

Percy and Katie groaned at the horrible innuendo, while Clarisse just laughed even louder, drawing the attention of every camper at the training arena. Smacking her hysterical friend on the back of the head, Percy began to make her way down to the beach. The sounds of campers practicing began to fade the closer she got to beach. She loved sneaking out at night to lay by the ocean, she did it so often that most people went straight there if she was missing. It was soothing for her to be around the sea; besides it offered a quick escape route if she needed it.

Just as she reached the turnoff for the beach loud voices caught her attention. At first, she thought that some campers had skipped training to go goof off, but the longer she listened the more worried she got. Afterall, the campers had been told to stay close to the center of camp just in case something happened and the longer she listened the more she realized that the voices were tinged with fear. Heading in the direction of the noise, Percy prepared to find herself in the middle of a couple's argument that had possibly gotten out of hand. It would not be the first time, put teenagers together and they start to pair off, a lot. What she wasn't prepared for was to find three grown adult males holding down two young female campers. The girls caught sight of her before the men did and cried out for help, causing the intruders to look up startled.

"Looks like we have another party member boys, what's your name sweet thing?"

"Let them go, they are minors and you are trespassing, leave now, this is your only warning."

The three men laughed at her words and the largest man stood up and began to walk over to her, a creepy smile on his face. The girls were still struggling to get free behind him, and looked like they were going to be able to escape if given time. Percy turned her attention to the one approaching her and prepared to fight him if he tried to pull anything stupider than he already was.

"I can't wait to party with you, I bet you're a screamer." He stated reaching out to grab Percy by her long braid.

"Don't even think about it flesh bag." Clarisse growled as she appeared behind Percy suddenly, dagger drawn.

"Just another party member, don't worry we won't leave you behind little girl."

Clarisse let out a small roar, throwing herself at the biggest male and knocking him on his ass. None of the men were expecting a fight and each one fell quickly under the daughter of wars ferocious onslaught. While Clarisse gave the men a much-needed beat down, Percy slipped past the fighting to check on the two younger girls and after finding that all they had were a few scraps and would be pretty bruised in the morning, she sent them to find Chiron and bring him back as fast as they could.

Both girls sprinted back to the safety of camp, catching the attention of nymphs, satyrs, and other campers as they nearly crashed into every obstacle on their way to the Big House. Both girls crashed through the doors of the Big House to find Chiron in a meeting with Ares, Dionysus, Apollo, and Aphrodite. Unsure what to do, both looked at each other for a clue on how to start and get the older girls the help that they needed.

"Lily, Tabitha, is something wrong?" Chiron asked, knowing both girls were not troublemakers.

"Three men, they entered the camp, Persephone and Clarisse are dealing with them."

Chiron froze momentarily before lunging out the door, followed quickly by the four Gods. This wasn't the first time that a mortal had wandered close to the camp and managed to bypass the boundaries that kept it hidden. But none of the previous encounters had ended well. The last time something like this had happened, two campers had been killed and an entire town had been set on fire. He had to make sure that none of the campers were harmed during this encounter, he also had to find a way to enforce the barrier.

Following the shouting that became audible the closer to the woods he got, Chiron finally found Percy, Clarisse, and the three intruders. The girls appeared unharmed, which he would have the Apollo cabin double check, just incredibly upset. Clarisse appeared inches away from stabbing all three men with her dagger and Percy was pale, but also angry. He needed to talk with the Gods about the training schedule they had her on, the child needed to rest.

"Fuckin' freaks, should have just made off with those dumb bitches."

"I would keep quiet if I were you boy, it'll only hurt worse the longer you run your mouth." Ares drawled walking over to kick the male in the chest.

"Percy, what happened?" Chiron inquired trying to keep everything under control.

"I was headed down to the beach to meet up with Dad and I heard some voices. I thought a couple of campers had sneaked off, so I just wanted to send them back. Instead, I found these three trying to force themselves on two younger campers. Clarisse arrived not long after I found them."

Thunder rumbled overhead violently as Percy tried desperately to keep her temper in check. Her abilities always had a habit of going haywire when she lost her temper, apparently a trait she picked up from her father. But, between the ongoing, nonstop training, lack of sleep, and worry over this new prophecy, her control was shot and nowhere near her usual standards. The ground shaking violently let the others know that she was close to losing control and they needed to finish this fast.

"I followed Percy when I noticed she had left her bag, figured I could bring it to her and maybe get the jump on her. Found these guys offering to show Percy and those girls a good time. Can I stab them yet?" Clarisse added, ignoring the men as they started yelling.

"ENOUGH!"

Ares' bellow made everyone in the clearing back up a few steps. Summoning one of his swords, he stalked over to the intruders, who had now started pleading for mercy and stating over and over that they would never do anything like this again. Chiron shuffled in place as he tried to find a reason to stop the God of War from killing the men, but his mind kept drawing a blank.

"Stop."

Ares looked over at Percy, who was looking more drained than he remembered her ever being. Maybe they should lay off the training for a bit, wasn't any fun when she could keep up in a fight. He did give her a silent snarl for trying to stop him and lifted his sword to strike the first blow, when the ground under his feet moved, causing him to stumble slightly.

"Death is quick, they won't learn anything from a quick death. They need to be punished first."

"She has a point, these little boys will never learn, no matter how many lives they live, if you just chop their heads off." Aphrodite stated as she laid her hand on Ares' shoulder.

"It would be simple to turn the fools into animals, put them to work around the camp for a few decades." Dionysus suggested, ready to get this whole mess over with and go to sleep.

"Bind them to the camp, ensure that they will never be able to leave or hurt the campers. Add in that while they may be injured, they won't die until they serve their sentence to the camp." Apollo mused liking the idea.

"Let us go you fucking freaks! You've had your fun!"

"Yeah, if we go missing people are going to go looking for us!"

"Not if they don't remember you." Aphrodite countered smiling.

"Then we agree, for the crimes they attempted to commit and did commit against the children of the Gods, you will be stripped of your mortal form. You will be confined to the camp for a period of 100 years. You will not die before then and will perform any task placed on you by God, camper, nymph, or satyr." Apollo announced as all four Gods surrounded the men.

Light enveloped the three, the yelling quickly changing to frantic braying. As the light died down, everyone managed to see that in the place of three men, three donkeys had taken their place. Clarisse stifled a laugh at their new form and nudged Percy who let out a little giggle.

"At least now they will be of some use to the world."

"Shush."

Two nymphs approached the group and with the help of a few satyrs, they managed to get the donkeys moving towards the direction of the stables. Every so often one of the donkeys would try to kick out and would receive a hard knock to their head. Some campers started following, before they were stopped and directed back to the training area. Percy finally felt the tension begin to leave her body and exhaustion take over and collapsed to the ground where she sat with her head on her knees.

"I feel like I could sleep for a week." She mumbled as the crowd left.

"Maybe if you did, things would calm down for a bit." Clarisse joked sitting down next to her.

"Fuck you, Thalia and Nico would take up my cause."

"They aren't pure chaos and attract trouble the way you do. They wouldn't be able to cause near the same about of trouble that you can naturally."

Both girls laughed at the idea of Nico summoning skeletons to cause mischief and instead causing nightmares and a large mess that they would be forced to clean up. Thalia would get the younger Hunters to help play pranks around the camp, but they wouldn't be able to cause near enough chaos. Clarisse would help of course; the camp would be dull otherwise and she enjoyed causing trouble just like the others. Katie would just watch from the sidelines eating popcorn.

"I had better get down to the beach, I'm sure Dad has already arrived and wondering why I didn't call him." Percy stated climbing to her feet.

"Good luck, hopefully we won't have to launch a rescue when your daddy finds out about what happened."

"Then let's hope he doesn't find out."

Percy left her friend laughing on the forest floor as she finally made her way to the beach. Unfortunately, she had been correct, Poseidon was waiting for her and looked a cross between worried and upset. Damn, there went any chance of her being able to gloss over how long it had taken her to get here. Maybe he wouldn't ask, but this was her father, of course he would ask.

"Persephone where have you been! I was starting to worry!"

"Sorry Dad, there was a small problem at the camp and I needed to help. But everything is fine and I'm ready to start training."

"Okay, I hope the others aren't taking advantage of your time. But let's start seeing where you are with your water manipulation."

Father and daughter worked together as night fell. Both were unaware that it would be the last time they would see each other and interact in person for months to come. But the stars witnessed the Sea God fawn over his daughter and start telling her stories of ancient times as the training devolved from lessons on water manipulation into a father/daughter bonding session. Neither wanted to leave the other and eventually Percy fell asleep on her fathers' shoulder, Poseidon didn't move and instead looked up at the stars and wished silently that his daughter always be safe and happy.

The Void

"It's time, Persephone must be transported to Thedas now."

"She isn't ready, Poseidon hasn't taught her enough, she needs more time."

"We can't put this off anymore, time is running out, if we don't do it now then the damage might be irreparable. Persephone is a survivor; we will be watching over her and eventually the Gods will be allowed to help."

"I guess, I'm just worried about how the Chantry will treat her, we know what they do to those who are different."

"Enough, Persephone will enter the world of Thedas in three days' time. Now let us finish the preparations."

Nodding in agreement the other figure continued to help finish the preparations that would bring Persephone to Thedas. While they did so, both figures prayed silently that they were making the right choice. To tear a young woman from her home, her family, and her friends to fight in a new world, a new war, with no allies to call her own. She would be forced to defend herself, her heritage, and her way of life, with no help. In some ways her circumstances would mirror the Dalish, but even they would balk at the idea of a pantheon that wasn't of Elven origin.

But maybe she would thrive, there were many denouncing the Chantry. Most were poor, Elven, or Mages, those that had long been pushed down and talked over in the past. But due to the rebellion their voices were getting louder by the day. The Chantry's greed was also biting them hard, demanding tributes, but refusing to help those that needed it. They would tear apart families when the poor came to them for healing, or when a woman approached needing assistance delivering her child. Taking the youngest to be wards of the Chantry, claiming they were thinking of the children's future, but lying to the children saying that their families were dead, or no longer wanted them.

Recently, large groups of common folk could be found fighting against city guards and Chantry disciples when word spread that the Chantry refused to allow a poor family to keep their baby that they had helped deliver. Or the when they demanded that the family abandon the person in need of healing. Now that the world had been plunged into a war that many had predicted years ago. There was a chance to provide the change that Thedas desperately needed. Persephone Jackson would be a beacon of hope and with her life experiences and knowledge, she would be able to deal with any Chantry pettiness and put the peoples fears to rest.
