NOTE: I've been busy with exams which is why I haven't been updating. Those are now over, so I have time to work on all of my stories now. I also wanted to ask you guys what you all think of the new Dragon Ball game coming out. Dragon Ball: The Breakers, personally I'm looking forward to it. It's something new for a Dragon Ball game and I hope a beta for consoles comes out so that I can try it.
And I will be doing the GT movie, but that won't be in this fic. Because that's not a Z movie, it'll be in the "DBS Watches DBGT" fic.
Anyways, Enjoy and Review!
Chapter 12: Conversation(1)
Gohan watched as his wife used this opportunity to change Pan. His mind is occupied with everything that they've seen so far. "Hey, Videl?"
"Hm? Yes, Gohan?" She didn't turn around, but he had her attention.
"What do you think about everything we've seen so far? The viewings," He asked her. Videl's eyebrow perked at the tone of her husband's voice, sensing that something was on his mind.
"What do I think? Well, I find them pretty enjoyable," She answered honestly.
"Really?" He blinked, surprised.
"Of course! Why wouldn't I? It's been pretty thrilling and exciting to see all of the differences that those versions have gone through. Even if they're just snipits into their lives," Videl told him. She finished changing their baby and picked up the happy child.
"You don't feel as if perhaps they've made better choices?" He asked, a bit cross.
"Nope! And you shouldn't either, Gohan," She walked over to him. The Satan daughter placed a comforting hand on his cheek. "The version of you who fought Bojack isn't you, Gohan. As much as the two of you look the same, you'll both be leading different lives," She told him.
"I know, but he managed to do what I can't. He made Dad proud…"
"You don't think your Father is proud of you?" She asked, not believing his words for a second.
"No! I know he's proud of me! It's just…when Dad died against Cell he left the world in my hands. When the time came to be the savior that he believed me to be, I messed up again. Against Buu, Lord Beerus, Frieza, and I couldn't even help Trunks fight Black," Gohan's disappointment in himself was evident.
"But, that version of you managed to pull off a miracle against all of the odds. You feel as if he will continue doing what you couldn't do," Videl finished the rest of his thoughts.
"Yeah-"
"Idiot!"
Gohan backed away, shocked by her outburst. "I-Idiot…" He squeaked.
"It doesn't matter if some other version of you is super strong or super smart! He's not you, Gohan! Yes, you couldn't beat any of those guys, but your involvement still helped towards every victory. Just you being who you are and fighting even if you don't stand a chance is what we all love about you!" Videl pressed a finger against his chest.
Gohan froze in place as he stared into his wife's eyes, her burning passion filling his soul.
"You don't have to beat or fight any Gods, Magicians, Genies, Cyborgs, or Aliens for everyone to acknowledge you. All you have to be is Son Gohan," She finished with her beautiful smile.
Gohan took hold of Videl's hand and gently caressed it. "Thank you, Videl."
"No problem, my job as your wife is to knock some sense into you whenever you decide to be an idiot. Isn't that right, Pan?" She asked the laughing baby in her arms.
Pan clapped her hands, agreeing with her Mother. She made a noise as if agreeing that her Dad was being an idiot.
The Saiyan-Scholar chuckled at the two most important girls in his life. "All I have to be is Son Gohan."
"What's got you two down in the dumbs?" Roshi asked. He drank a can of beer as he stared at the dejected forms of Yamcha and Tien.
Yamcha looked over at his old Master. "...Nothing," He answered.
"They're thinking about how useless the other versions of them were," Oolong ripped the metaphorical bandaid off.
"Dude!" Yamcha yelled at him.
"What? You two were just gonna keep sulking until we started watching again," Oolong shrugged.
Roshi shook his head at the two. "Haven't you boys learned to not feel sorry for yourselves? Especially, since those two aren't even you," He reminded them.
"They are us, Master. Or at least a reminder of where we stand now. We were no help to Gohan during that fight and only left the kid to carry all of the responsibility," Tien glared at his own hands. Chiaotzu could only watch with a worried expression.
"Tien…" He whispered.
"So?" Roshi shrugged his shoulders.
Yamcha did a double take. "So!? Master Roshi, can't you see that we're just useless weight by the point! All of us who aren't Saiyans!"
"And? Why does that matter to you? You don't even fight anymore, Yamcha," Roshi pointed at Yamcha. He then turned his attention to Tien. "And you run a dojo to teach new young students martial arts. Why should it matter to the two of you if you're not strong enough to compete with the others anymore?" Roshi prompted them to speak.
Tien sighed, closing and opening all three of his eyes. "I can still remember back when Goku and I were even. When it wouldn't be such a one sided match. Then, at the 23rd Tournament he had far surpassed me…no maybe further back. When he had defeated King Piccolo, he had already surpassed me at that point. I could only wake up and think 'When had I been relegated to the side-lines'. To watch others fight battles as I could only hope and pray that the worst wouldn't happen," Tien spoke, softly. His mind drifted back to his attempt at stalling Cell and Buu. To the recent Tournament of Power…was he really that useless?
Yamcha spoke up next. "It's not that I want to get back into fighting, nah, I've been done with that life for years now. But, when I saw Gohan at that age again, having to fight by himself against such powerful enemies…it irritates me. The kid never should've had so much responsibility thrown on his shoulders at that age. We failed as adults and as Goku's friends," Yamcha spat at himself. Puar floated next to Yamcha and frowned.
"Yamcha…"
TWACK!
TWACK!
"OW!" Both Tien and Yamcha gripped their heads after Roshi smacked them both with his cane. They glared at the old man who was busy huffing at them.
"Nonsense, you idiots! Have you learned nothing from me after all these years! Do you really think that any of your efforts have been nothing more than a waste!? So, you're not the strongest anymore, so what!? That doesn't mean that your presence or actions have no impact on those around you! Gohan and Goku both value the two of you as their friends, which means that no matter what you do they'll always appreciate you! You've never let anyone down, always remember that!" Roshi finished his speech.
"Whew, now I'm tired," The old man flopped down onto his seat.
Tien and Yamcha allowed his words to sink in and smiled. "He's right, ya know, I don't think Goku would ever fault us for anything," Yamcha said.
"Neither would Gohan, the two of them have hearts too big for something like that," Tien smirked. That's right, how could he forget. Even if his presence on the battlefield wasn't as much as it used to be, he'll always try his best. As well as teach his students to be strong, so that they can go out there and positively affect the world in their own ways.
"Why are you moping?" 18 asked, her voice monotone as ever.
Krillin looked up at his wife. "Just thinking," He replied. Her response was flicking him on his forehead.
"You do too much thinking for the most pointless of things," She rolled her eyes.
"I don't think it's pointless," He mumbled.
18 rolled her eyes again. "So, you got beat up a couple of times. That's nothing new for you, Krillin."
"Thanks-"
"Getting back up again after getting your ass kicked is also what you're most good at. Even when the world seems to be against you, that has never stopped you. Even when staring down a psychopathic bio-android in the eyes to protect a woman you barely even knew, you kept on trying. That's my strong Krillin," 18 finished her own speech.
The monk stared at her with wide eyes, he shouldn't be shocked at all. His wife was always good at reading his emotions, and being able to knock some sense into him. "Thanks, 18."
"Yeah, now don't make me talk so much again," 18 glared at him.
"R-Right!" Krillin chuckled, nervously.
Bulma watched as everyone returned to their seats in the theater. The TVM(Temporal Viewing Machine) had cooled down enough for them to continue their marathon of timeline watching. Coughing into her hands Bulma prepared to speak.
"Alright, everyone are you rea-"
"Just start it already!" Oolong's loud voice cut her off.
She sent a scathing glare in the pig's direction. "Shut it, you stupid Pig!" Bulma stomped her foot.
"Come on, Mom! Just start it up, we're sick of waiting!" Trunks also started shouting.
"Hurry it up, Woman! We don't have all day!" Vegeta joined in.
Bulma directed her glares at her husband and son. "Why you ungrateful little-"
"Hey, Bulma, why are you taking so long? I'm getting hungry!" Goku complained.
"Are you going to keep talking all day, Bulma?" Beerus joined in on the complaining.
"UGH! ALL OF YOU JUST SHUT UP! I'M STARTING IT NOW!" Bulma erupted at all of them. The blue scientist turned around and turned on the machine, then stomped over to her seat next to Vegeta. She sent a scathing glare at him, but the Saiyan Prince just ignored her.
The machine began to glow and illuminated the entire room. The screen turned on and a green and white double helix was shown. The screen then turned dark before words once more appeared on the screen.
BROLY: THE LEGENDARY SUPER SAIYAN
Chapter End
NOTE: These three conversations are the first of multiple I plan to do on the course of this fic. Goku's and Vegeta's own conversations will be saved for last. Anyway, look forward to the first part of Broly next chapter.
And yes, I will use Dub dialogue for it, so put down your damn pitchforks.
See ya next chapter!
