The next morning, Kuroko awoke around 7:00, which he realized would give him enough time to get ready and actually make himself something to eat. Normally, Kuroko would wake up around eight which didn't give him time to do anything other than change. Having to walk to school didn't help his situation either.

Standing up and walking toward the door, Kuroko made his way downstairs toward the kitchen. His apartment wasn't very big, just enough for one person. That one person being himself.

The blunette quickly made himself some miso soup. Nothing big or exciting. It's not like he ate much, anyways.

From there on, Kuroko ate quickly before racing back up the stairs. Ironing his uniform, the blunette dressed prior to grabbing his backpack and exiting his apartment. After locking up, Kuroko started off toward the direction of his high school. The one place that kept him from enjoying his peaceful home.

The walk wasn't very long but it was extensive enough for the blunette to ensure he leaves at least 30 minutes before class starts. It's not like Kuroko hung out with anyone before class anyways, so he didn't need to make an appearance super early.

He preferred staying hidden and unnoticed.

Upon arrival, Kuroko entered the school before briskly heading to his locker. Just as he was about to reach it, a voice had him jumping in surprise. "Tetsu, there you are! I took you as the type to come to school early, but I guess I was wrong. Man, I came here on time for nothin'," Aomine said as he approached the blunette, abruptly drawing attention toward the two.

"Aomine-kun, please lower your voice," Kuroko crimped into himself as multiple eyes watched them queerly. "You are attracting attention toward us."

It was true! Kuroko could hear the whispers from around them, already! Obviously, it was odd to see the popular basketball player interacting with the, usually unnoticeable, Kuroko Tetsuya. The blunette was almost 100% sure most of the kids lining the hallways had never even acknowledged him before.

"Hah~? What's the big deal? You scared of people or somethin'?" Aomine teased as he leaned toward the blunette with a smirk. Kuroko huffed in response. This ganguro was rather annoying sometimes.

Turning away, Kuroko unlocked his locker and pulled out his required textbooks. Aomine watched him silently.

"Is there something you need, Aomine-kun?" Kuroko queried as irritation laced his tone. Aomine's staring was getting on his nerves.

"I wanted to ask if you could help me study during lunch," Aomine explained as he picked his ear with his pinky. "Of course lunch is my favorite period of the day, however, I'd rather not have to spend too much time working on homework after school. I like my sleep, thank you very much."

Kuroko rolled his eyes but replied with a nod. He wasn't gonna refuse. If Aomine wanted to study at lunch, then they'd study at lunch. The less time they worked after school, the more he got to himself, anyways. Aomine probably assumed the same thing.

The navy-haired teen grinned and slapped Kuroko on the back appreciatively. "Thanks, Tetsu! You're the best! How about I walk you to class?"

Kuroko just shrugged as he started off toward his first period. "Are you going to attend today, Aomine-kun?"

Aomine groaned as he rested his hands behind his head. "I guess~ I might as well start this 'tutoring' by taking part in class. Hopefully, that will get me back on the sensei's good side. It might take some time, though."

Kuroko smiled slightly before glancing back ahead of them. "That's good, Aomine-kun."

In addition to working for the library committee, Kuroko has begun helping out the student council. Regardless if he was a member or not, the blunette was rather helpful to them. Kuroko was good with books and writing so he took up the job of sorting out folders that held upcoming event plans, as well as making posters for them.

It wasn't the most exciting but it gave Kuroko something to do during his free time. The teal-head didn't interact with the student council much so you can imagine how shocked he was when Koganei-senpai, one of his upperclassmen and members of the council, asked if he could help out a bit.

Kuroko reluctantly complied. The blunette was clueless as to how the student council even knew him, let alone why they would ask him. Kuroko had just cast those thoughts aside at the time, not finding them important.

It was only yesterday that Koganie-senpai had asked but it felt like forever ago. Yesterday, while waiting for Kise, Kuroko was held up in a teacher's classroom working on a poster for the upcoming Inter-high.

It was fun, he had to admit, yet he was surrounded by multiple students. Students he had never met before! At first, most of them hadn't noticed him, like usual. But as time went on, they all started conversations with him. Some simple, some explicit. Nothing too drastic, though.

The blunette didn't mind the attention at the moment. It was better than sitting in awkward silence while everyone else ignored him.

Shaking off his recollection of yesterday's events, Kuroko continued on his way toward the student council office. He may have been a first-year, but he was actually rather familiar with the school grounds. Having searched around the school for possible hiding spots on the first day, came in handy.

Upon arrival, Kuroko knocked on the office door before patiently waiting in silence. Not too long after, the door swung open to reveal a brunette male tilting his head at him. "Can I help you?"

"Domo. I am Kuroko Tetsuya. Koganei-senpai instructed me to pick up some folders containing possible fundraisers and club events," the blunette explained. Eyeing the brunette, Kuroko assumed he was a first-year as well. He was almost positive he'd seen the other before.

"Right! Koganei-senpai notified me that you'd be coming by. I'm Furihata Kouki, by the way! Just give me one second, Kuroko-kun," with a bow, Furihata raced off into the office. Kuroko could hear shuffling from inside, which he assumed was the teen rummaging through the file cabinets.

"Here you go! These are the plans pertaining to the clubs," Furihata held out a pile of binders which Kuroko took appreciatively. "And these hold information about the fundraisers," the blunette was handed another pile of binders.

"I assume Koganei-senpai informed you on what needs to be done concerning those," the brunette eyed Kuroko with a raised brow. Kuroko nodded in return. "Yes. Thank you Furihata-kun."

"It's no problem. I really appreciate the help Kuroko-kun! The student council has been so busy preparing for the upcoming basketball tournaments, we could use all the help we can get. Even though you aren't a member, I value your determination to assist us. Now, I must get back to writing down the clubs. Have a nice day, Kuroko-kun and please have those in by the end of the day," Furihata bowed again before turning and shutting the door. Kuroko smiled softly to himself.

Turning back down the hall, Kuroko started off back toward the library. He should have been there ten minutes ago, but he had decided on gathering the council work so he could get it done during his second period 'break'. It's not like anyone enters the library during this time, anyways.

On his way there, Kuroko turned the corner only to be interrupted by someone crashing into him. Dropping all the binders on the floor, the blunette rubbed his sore behind and glanced at the person whom he bumped into. He sensed dejavu.

"Apologies. I didn't see you there," Kuroko moved to sit on his knees as he bowed apologetically. Inspecting the male, Kuroko took notice of red hair and heterochromatic eyes glaring at him.

"You should watch where you are going next time," the person directed, standing up and dusting any possible dirt from his pants. The reply annoyed Kuroko a bit. This guy could have at least said 'sorry', but instead he chose to be an arrogant prick.

"Well, excuse me~ It didn't seem as if you were paying attention either, Akashi-kun," Kuroko knew exactly who this person was. The two shared a few classes together, but the blunette was positive the basketball captain hadn't acknowledged him once. Just like everyone else.

Kuroko wasn't the biggest fan of the male. Akashi was always condescending and commanding. Not to mention, he was a huge know-it-all that just loved to brag about how he was smarter than everyone else.

Akashi watched as Kuroko collected his fallen items with a raised eyebrow. "I'm assuming you are in my class, considering you know my name." And there it was. That stupid egotism. Akashi always acted as if he knew everything.

Sighing, Kuroko decided to ignore the redhead and stood up, having assembled his binders again. Oh. He forgot to mention. Akashi Seijuro was also the student council president.

"Yes. It seems you aren't very watchful of your surroundings, Akashi-kun. Otherwise, you would know we share multiple classes together," Kuroko spouted out on impulse. Did he really just talk to someone that way? Since when could he be so rude?!

Akashi scoffed and smirked at him. "I would like to inform you that I am dreadfully aware of the obvious fact that you are in my class. However, my attention isn't directed to people below me. For I am absolute." There was another thing Kuroko disliked about the guy. His obvious god-complex.

With a roll of his eyes, Kuroko maneuvered to walk around the redhead, but froze when Akashi grabbed at one of the binders in his arms.

"You are helping the council?" Akashi flipped through the folder. "Sorting and expunging clubs and fundraiser events, I see.." the captain glanced at the irate blunette and smirked. "Sure you can handle it? You aren't a member so I can have someone else take up this job."

Kuroko scoffed at that. "Of course I can. I don't see why I wouldn't be able to. I am fully capable of helping out the council even if I'm not a member."

Akashi dropped the binder back on top of the pile Kuroko was carrying. "If you're certain, I won't stop you. Just don't screw things up, got it?"

The teal-head narrowed his eyes warningly. "Don't assume such things about someone you barely know, Akashi-kun. You aren't one to talk. Having to ask someone not involved with your student council for help? How sad. Can't handle it on your own?" Kuroko teased, a small smirk growing on his face.

The blunette didn't know where all his confidence was coming from. He guessed talking to someone he dislikes brings this side of him out. Could he really resent Akashi this much, though?

Akashi leaned over Kuroko threateningly. "Are you assuming I am incapable of running my council? I have everything under control. You don't know the power I hold as student council president and captain of Teiko's boys basketball team. Don't test me, Tetsuya."

So the redhead did know who he was. Shocking.

Kuroko averted his gaze without a response. Akashi was really starting to get on his nerves.

"As I thought. I shall take my leave then. Make sure you get those done by lunch, understand me?" the redhead ordered turning his back to the blunette.

Kuroko frowned deeply. "Furihata-kun told me I had all day."

Akashi glanced at Kuroko from over his shoulder. "He isn't the council president. I am. So you shall do as I say."

Kuroko just nodded with a roll of his eyes. "Yes, Akashi-kun."

The captain smirked at him before stalking off toward the student council office. Kuroko just watched him go before begrudgingly making his way to the library.

Great. Now he was in a bad mood.

xXx

Akashi's smirk dropped as he rounded the corner. That blunette dared talk to him in such a way? He was Akashi Seijuro. No one spoke to him in such a manner, yet that damn Kuroko Tetsuya had!

The captain knew who he was of course. With his emperor eye, it was hard to overlook someone with hair as blue as the sky. Akashi had noticed the teen's lack of presence, though. When Akashi first heard of the male, even with his emperor eye, it took him a bit to become fully conscious of the blunette's presence.

Now, though, Akashi was always able to spot the teen, no matter the amount of people in the class. One thing irked Akashi, though. As reluctant as he was to admit, Kuroko was sharp. The blunette aced all his classes yet he never appeared to be invested in the class.

Akashi despised people that never put their intelligence to use. It's such a waste.

Akashi had done some research and discovered Kuroko wasn't in any clubs, nor cram programs. The only, slightly, remote activity the blunette had was the library committee. It wasn't that big an accomplishment, though.

Akashi was always the type to put his knowledge to use. The redhead was good at practically everything.

School, sports, games, etc. The list went on. Akashi was proud of how far he had gotten. Yet, that damn blunette always interjected his thoughts. He didn't understand people like him. People that just sit around; not getting involved or even try using their smarts.

Kuroko was the definition of indolent in Akashi's eyes and he was set on educating him on that Maybe then, it would encourage the blunette to finally put himself to use.

To be fair, learning Kuroko was helping out the council shed some new light on the redhead's view of Kuroko. However, the blunette's attitude and tone was a total turn off.

That whole interaction annoyed Akashi to great lengths. Kuroko would pay for disrespecting Akashi Seijuro.
