Kuroko was expecting to have a normal day today. It was a Wednesday. The most boring day of the week. He looked forward to helping Aomine with his chem homework and spend the rest of the day by himself.
However, when Kuroko arrived at the school that day, he found the immodest student council president, hanging by his locker. Kuroko knew exactly what that meant. The blunette begrudgingly went past him, in addition to ignoring him, and opened his locker. Akashi just watched him without saying anything.
The staring began unnerving him. What did the captain want anyway?
"Did you need something, president," Kuroko used that same mocking tone; the one he's been owning ever since he first spoke with Akashi. Well 'spoke with' would be an understatement.
"Yes. I need you to make a poster for the inter-high. This one is to be directly made by you and you only. It must be done by tomorrow," Akashi apprised, face expressionless. "The tournament is coming up next week and fundraiser booths have already been set up in the quad. We need a banner to hang in the court for our fans to cheer us on."
Kuroko rolled his eyes but nodded in agreement. He shouldn't have expected anything less. It's just like Akashi to call the other students his 'fans'.
"I'll take that as a 'yes'. Not like you had a choice, anyways," Akashi voiced with a smirk. "See you later, chibi-chan." With that, the redhead stalked away.
Kuroko grumbled under his breath. That guy was starting to piss him off. Why had he gone to Kuroko for something so simple? 'Cause he was expendable? Yeah, that was most likely the reason. The other student council members were probably busy running the booths, anyways.
Kuroko didn't mind, but the way Akashi ensued it-that riled him up. With a sigh, the teal-head swiftly grabbed his books before heading to his first period.
First period went quickly. The blunette was thankful for that. Right now, all he had to worry about was getting the equipment for the poster before collecting his stock of books and heading to the library. Kuroko had everything planned in his mind.
First, he would gather the poster materials, collect the books, stock the library shelves, and relax until the third period started. He decided on starting the banner when he got home. It would give him more time to focus and he was better working at home than at school; no matter how ironic as that sounds.
The blunette didn't fancy the idea of possibly running into the redheaded captain again, but did he have a choice? Nope. It would be more logical to get the supplies during his 'free' period, anyways.
Finally arriving at the council office, Kuroko rapped his knuckles on the door, waiting patiently. Soon the door flew open, this time Koganei-senpai appeared with a gleaming smile. "Kuroko-chan! Akashi-kun said you'd be coming to pick some stuff up, but I didn't know he meant this soon!"
Kuroko smiled softly at the male. Koganei's energy was always infectious.
"Yes, Koganei-senpai. Akashi-kun wants me to make a banner for the inter-high," the blunette explained simply. Koganei nodded in understanding. "Let me get those for you. One sec!"
Soon, the brunette returned holding a large rolled up sheet of paper and a small bag of, what Kuroko assumed, markers and pencils. Kuroko certainly didn't need them, only the paper, but he wasn't one to complain. Free markers were free markers, dammit.
"Thank you, Koganei-senpai. I'll be sure to have this returned, finished, by tomorrow morning," Kuroko assured with a small smile, to which Koganei returned. "I believe in you Kuroko-chan!"
Kuroko walked away as the door slammed shut. Now, off to the library. The blunette chose to drop off his stuff before collecting the books. It'd be arduous carrying around a bunch of supplies while moving from class to class.
Once everything was set up neatly at the library, Kuroko hurried to each classroom. A cart of books were sitting outside each room and the blunette made sure to grab every single one. There weren't as many as before (unlike when he first ran into Aomine) but there was a decent amount.
Trekking back toward the library, Kuroko was thankful he hadn't bumped into anyone, yet. Aomine and Akashi were one thing, but anyone else would have had the blunette indignant for being interrupted, again.
Upon arrival, Kuroko opened the door tacitly and swiftly stocked the shelves. After running around so much, Kuroko definitely needed a break. The blunette had a relatively low stamina-which happens to be one of the reasons he never joined any sports. He could never handle them.
Kuroko slumped into one of the chairs surrounding the table that held his stuff as he exhaled desultory. Resting his head between his crossed arms, the teal-head's eyes started to feel heavy.
A nap would do him some good. He will, in all likelihood, spend lunch tutoring Aomine again, not to mention, work on that stupid poster after school. So might as well get some rest now. Just as Kuroko was about to shut his eyes, the all too familiar sound of a school bell had him groaning in protest.
Great... Second period just ended.

"Uh, Kurokocchi... Are you okay?" Kise's concerned, yet amused voice had Kuroko rolling his eyes as he slumped onto the cafeteria bench. "What do you think?"
"You look like hell!" Aomine quipped as he took a seat next to the blunette. "Didn't get enough sleep or somethin'?" The tan-teen would have been concerned if he hadn't noticed the large poster board set at Kuroko's feet.
Another project? Student council maybe?
"Let's just get started on your homework, yeah?" Kuroko replied sternly. Aomine chuckled with a nod. "Sure, whatever you say boss."
As the two started working, Kise tuned them out, his attention too absorbed in observing the sizable, rolled up sheet of paper. He raised an eyebrow in thought and question. He knew for a fact that Kuroko wasn't involved in any clubs or sports, so why did he have such a thing? It's not as if Kuroko told him a whole lot, but he would know if the blunette had joined any type of activity.
"Hey Kurokocchi, so sorry to interrupt but... What is that?" the blonde model pointed a dainty finger at the blunette's heap of items. "Did you happen to join a club without my knowledge?! Why didn't you tell me, Kurokocchi?! I would have joined with you if I had known!"
Kuroko exhaled while rubbing his temples. He will undoubtedly be going to sleep with a headache tonight. "No Kise-kun, I didn't join a club. These are supplies for a banner I am making for the upcoming Inter-high."
Both Kise and Aomine gasped in surprise and solace. "You are making a poster for us, Kurokocchi?! How nice of you~," the blonde commended with an overjoyed smile. Kuroko shook his head amusedly.
"Does that mean you will be attending our games too, Tetsu?" Aomine grinned with a questionable glint in his eyes. Kuroko looked down dolefully. "No, Aomine-kun. I don't think so."
"Aw~ Why Kurokocchi~?!" Kise whined with a pout. "I was looking forward to you cheering me on~!" the blunette laughed softly with a downhearted smile. "I'm sorry, Kise-kun. Basketball just brings back some bad memories..."
"Oh, I'm sorry Kurokocchi! Is it about Ogiwara-kun?" Kise looked down apologetically. Feeling bad, Kuroko shook his head with an endearing smile. "It's alright, Kise-kun. Honest. I'll come to your game if I get the chance, alright?"
"Yay~ Thanks Kurokocchi!"
Aomine looked between the two conversing teens with a dejected expression. "I'm so confused right now," the navy-head cut in with an awkward chuckle, placing a hand behind his head. Kise and Kuroko laughed softly.
"Don't worry about it, Aomine-kun. It's not important. Like I told Kise-kun, I'll attend the game if I get the chance," Kuroko assured. Aomine wasn't very convinced, but he let it go. "Whatever you say."
xXx
"Hey Tetsu, I didn't expect you to wait for us today! Not that I'm ungrateful or anything!" The navy-haired teen exclaimed as he ran up to the awaiting blunette. "I couldn't let you and Kise-kun kill each other while I'm not around," Kuroko replied simply with a shrug. Aomine scoffed in return.
"We're not children, y'know! We can take care of ourselves..." the ganguro groused as the blonde model came up to them. "Thanks for waiting, Kurokocchi!"
"Hello, Kise-kun," Kuroko greeted with a small wave before facing the navy-head. "Aomine-kun, did you need me to tutor you some more? I have a bit of free-time."
Aomine crossed his arms mockingly "Why would I need more help! We already finished the homework during lunch!" Kuroko rolled his eyes. "That was only the first three periods, Aomine-kun. You still have three other classes y'know."
The blonde barked out a laugh before slapping a hand to his mouth jeeringly. "Aominecchi is stupid!"
Aomine dove for Kise's head but the model ducked just in time.
"Shut it you pompous pretty boy!"
"Wah~ Aominecchi is mean~!"
Kuroko sighed while rubbing his temples. "Please calm down Aomine-kun. KIse-kun was just saying you are inferior to him when it comes to school. Nothing to get ashamed about," the blunette explained, sarcastically. Aomine felt a vein pop on his forehead.
These bastards!
"You know wh-!" The power forward's reply was rudely interrupted by a teasing voice.
"Wow Tetsuya, I didn't expect you to be so rude. Especially toward your dear friends," Akashi's snarky comment had Kuroko narrowing his eyes, annoyed.
"Hello, Akashi-kun. Is there something that you need?" the teal-head averted his gaze, trying to calm his boiling irritation. "If it's about the banner, I'll have it turned in by tomorrow morning."
Akashi chuckled with a playful smirk. "What? I can't greet my teammates' friends? Is it such a crime?" Kuroko just grumbled to himself.
"Akashicchi, you know Kurokocchi?" Kise blurted in surprise as he glanced between the two shorter teens. "You never told me this Kurokocchi!"
"I thought it was implied when I mentioned the poster to you, Kise-kun," Kuroko exhaled as he rubbed his aching temples, again. The blonde model just blinked with a tilt of his head. "Was it?"
"Idiot," Aomine commented with a sigh.
"So mean!"
Kuroko focused his attention back onto the redhead captain. "If there isn't anything else you wanna say, we shall be off. Let's go Kise-kun, Aomine-kun." As the blunette turned to leave the council president piped up, making Kuroko freeze.
"Off so soon? Why don't we hang out a bit? Y'know... the four of us!" The suggestion had Kise and Aomine snapping their attention toward Akashi, appalled.
"Seriously, Akashi? You wanna hang out with us?" the navy-head questioned, startled. To his left, Kise was a stuttering mess.
"W-wait! What a-about Midorimacchi and Murasakibaracchi?" the blonde exclaimed. Akashi shook his head in response. "Don't worry about them. They already went home."
Kuroko groaned as he slapped a hand to his forehead. "What brought this up all of a sudden, Akashi-kun?"
The redhead offered Kuroko an alluring expression which, in turn, left the blunette slightly red. "Like I said before. I want to be formally introduced to my teammates' good friend. They talk highly of you, however, from what I've seen, you aren't that way with me."
Kuroko's brow twitched in annoyance. "Oh, I'm sorry~" the teal-head hissed sarcastically. "But, you're not the most perfect person either, president."
"Well excuse me, chibi-chan, but you should know by now that I am absolute. Concluding that I am perfect," Akashi crossed his arms menacingly with a sinister smirk. Aomine and Kise watched the two with wide, shocked, eyes.
The teal-head rolled his eyes again at the remark. "Conceited as always, president." The reply had Akashi narrowing his eyes warningly.
"Ah! A-akashicchi! He didn't mean it, right Kurokocchi?!" Kise interrupted briskly, as he slapped a hand over the blunette's mouth. Kuroko glanced at the male in displeasure before swatting the hand away.
"No, Kise-kun. I meant every word of it," Kuroko replied simply while crossing his arms defiantly. Seeing Akashi's constricted expression, Kise rubbed his nape awkwardly. "K-kurokocchi... What's gotten into you today?"
"It's fine, Ryouta. He's always like this when we meet," Akashi explained, causing the blunette to sneer. "I wouldn't act this way if you'd show me a little respect! The first time we met, face to face, you shamed me for bumping into you!"
The redhead shrugged. "Semantics. I don't regret my decisions. You simply should have watched where you were going."
Kuroko growled threateningly before being grabbed by the brittle ganguro. "Calm down there, Tetsu... Sorry Akashi but I think we are gonna head home..."
Akashi sighed half-heartedly. "I guess it can't be helped. Daiki, Ryouta, make sure Tetsuya gets home safe, alright?" The last part came out sarcastically which didn't help ease the teal-head's anger.
"W-will do, Akashicchi! Have a nice night!" Kise waved to the descending redhead sheepishly.
"Ditto."
xXx
"Kurokocchi, what was that?! Are you insane?!" the blonde model exclaimed, shaking the blunette by his shoulders, comically. Kuroko weakly slapped Kise's arms, silently asking him to stop.
"Kise has a point though, Tetsu. I've never seen you so... rude? It was odd... Not to mention, it was directed toward Akashi! I'm surprised he didn't pummel you!" Aomine cut in while crossing his arms. Kuroko averted his gaze, ashamed.
"I apologize for my behavior, Kise-kun, Aomine-kun. Akashi-kun just gets on my nerves, sometimes..." Kuroko explained as he rubbed his arm, self-consciously.
The power forward chuckled softly. "It's fine, Tetsu. Just... shocking." Kise nodded his head, dramatically, in agreement. "I concur! You shouldn't talk to Akashicchi like that! He might get angry!"
"Ha! I'm shocked he didn't get mad with Tetsu talking to him like that! Like damn! If that was me, I would have been sliced to pieces by his fucking scissors!" Aomine exclaimed jokingly while scratching the back of his head, amused.
Kuroko looked to the side, uneasy. "I've talked to him a few times over the last few days... I mean he was the person that assigned me to make the banner for the inter-high."
"Yeah but... Do you two always talk to each other like... that, though?" the navy-head asked with a horror-stricken expression planted on his face. Kuroko shrugged plainly. "I guess..?"
"Wait seriously?! Akashicchi lets you get away with talking to him in such a way?! How many times have you two interacted these last few days?!" the blonde quieres, astonished.
The blunette raised a finger to his chin in thought. "Three times, I think..."
"That's three too many!" Aomine screeched, causing Kuroko to sigh. "It's not a big deal..."
"It's not a... It's not a big deal?! Of course it is! Akashi never let-!" the navy-head's response was cut off by Kise. "Aominecchi... you are scaring Kurokocchi. Please don't be so dramatic."
"Oh~! You'd know 'dramatic', huh?!" Aomine snapped, pissed for being interrupted.
"Hey, I'm not dramatic, Aominecchi!" the blonde wailed before the two started arguing, nonsensically. Off to the side, the blunette stood exasperatedly while rubbing his temples, again. "I'm just gonna head home. See you two tomorrow..."
With that, Kuroko was gone.
