Howdy team, welcome to this late-night edition of AWTF! Sorry, this is a bit late, but had a lot of stuff going on today so it got postponed. I hope you enjoy this chapter and don't forget to Follow, Favorite, and Review!
I don't own ATLA
Fire Lord Ozai was, for once, in a good mood. He had enjoyed his tea, had sliced rhino for breakfast, and even received word that a new shipment of mail was going to be arriving today. Much to the surprise of everyone, he actually was quite fond of his mailman. In fact, he often gave the man a raise and made sure that his family was doing well.
He found that this was one of the few bright spots of his day. With having to deal with ways to conquer the world and bring down the Earth Kingdom, he was frequently stressed. So, whenever he got to see the timid man, it brightened up his day.
Today, Ozai found himself planted at his desk in his office reading documents when he heard a knock on his door. He knew who it was and smiled. "Come in!" he shouted as he cleared off his desk.
Pangi nervously shuffled through the door and made his way to the desk where his boss sat. He knew that, for some out of this world reason, the Fire Lord actually liked him, so he attempted to keep it that way as long as possible.
"Your mail is here, my Lord," Pangi stated as he handed the mail over.
"Sit, Pangi," Ozai ordered as he grabbed the letters and started to open them. "How have you been? Are the wife and kids doing alright?"
"Y-yes...Nata is doing w-well, and the triplets are doing fine as well," Pangi stammered as he grabbed the cup that was meant for him to drink.
"Good," Ozai said as he sipped his tea and read. "And your son, he is seven, right?"
"Y-yes, my Lord. He is in the second grade at the Royal Academy. Th-thank y-you again for doing that for us," Pangi replied as he tried to smile at his leader.
"Oh, it was no problem. I couldn't have one of my favorite workers struggling to afford school."
"Yes, b-but you didn't have to."
"I know, but I wanted to. Now, I know you have work to do, so I won't keep you for very long," Ozai said with a smile on his face, which made the poor man shiver.
Pangi immediately got up, bowed, and ran to the nearest exit. Ozai chuckled and continued to drink his tea. "It is so damn easy to make him uncomfortable, it's funny," he said to himself as he continued to read the many reports that he had received.
After a few hours of reading the reports, Fire Lord Ozai stumbled upon some interesting information from Boiling Rock. He read the report and placed it down on the table so that he could examine the pile of letters and reports that he had yet to read.
"Hmm...apparently, we have a new prisoner that is a person of interest for the Fire Nation," Ozai mumbled to himself whilst flinging papers everywhere. After a few minutes of searching, he finally found the document that he was looking for. He read the title and smiled as he opened the letter.
Fire Lord Ozai,
There are several new prisoners that could be useful to the Fire Nation's War effort. Below is a list of all of the new prisoners; although, we took the liberty of already preparing the most dangerous of the prisoners for departure. We await your future orders.
Boiling Rock Prison Management.

Ozai immediately spat out the tea that he was originally drinking and reread the last line: Avatar. They actually captured him? Why isn't Azula on this list? Or those other two girls? His thoughts became more frantic as he quickly scanned through the documents that were from Boiling Rock.
Fire Lord Ozai,
By the time you will have received this letter, approximately eight days will have passed since the breakout of Boiling Rock.
This immediately got Ozai's attention. He widened his eyes and began to read the letter with a newfound intensity. He scowled as he tried to find the letter that he was looking for. C'mon! Where is that damn report? It should be here! he angrily thought as he quickly skimmed through tens of documents. After what felt like eternity, he finally found the report he was looking for.
At approximately 1228 hours, explosions rocked the facility. We tracked the explosions to the base of some of the supports of the island. I had a few of our agents perform a sweep and investigation of the area. Additionally, we located a large amount of carved bed frames and what seemed like a binding agent made out of paper and clothing. We also spotted numerous maps and other weapons in the cavern as well.
After the explosions were set off, Captain Zaine ordered for the immediate capture of the Avatar and the Princess. We sent agents to their room after the battle and found numerous dead bodies. We know that they seperated and had outside help when escaping. We know this because we have eye-witness reports that the Avatar threw Azula onto the sky bison. Afterwards, the Avatar sent the bison up in the air while he tried to delay the Snufferes himself. We noticed that he did not go into the Avatar state. We also received word that he hugged, kissed, and said 'I love you' to her numerous times. We can now confirm that there is a heavy sense of romance between them.
We do not know where the Avatar sent her friend. However, Commander Dai and Captain Zaine left shortly after the investigation so that they could manage a good lead. The closest place for a Fire Nation fleet is a three-day boat ride away. Hopefully, they will send word soon.
We currently have the Avatar sedated and locked away in a cell, currently awaiting orders from you as to the future actions to be dealt to him. If it were up to me, I would send him to the Earth Kingdom. His friends are likely attempting to find him, so send him to a place where firebenders are not.
Ozai immediately raised an eyebrow at the suggestion. Yet, the more he thought about it, the more he liked the idea. He was originally going to keep him close to the Fire Nation and, by extension, himself. However, the new idea seemed more secure.
"Those girls are probably going to come back here," Ozai reasoned quietly with himself. "They are going to want to come snooping for any information that they possibly can get on the next stages of the plan." Then, an idea entered into his head, causing him to write down new orders for the others. "What if I moved the entire Snuffer division of the Fire Nation military to Ba Sing Se? That way, the Avatar is protected and if they do find a way to get to him, we have our elite there to catch them."
After stamping the final letter and folding it, he placed it into an envelope and summoned a servant. "Take this and deliver it to Boiling Rock."
"At once, my Lord," the servant replied as they ran towards the mail room.
He later called another servant to summon the commander of the Snufferes and to meet him in his office. After a few minutes, a man in the classic red and black armor of the Snufferes arrived. The man was tall and bore a large amount of muscle. He immediately fell to one knee at the sight of the Fire Lord and bowed low.
"My Lord, what is it that you require of me?" the man asked in a distorted voice.
"I want you to relocate the entire Snufferes division to Ba Sing Se," Ozai commanded as he stared at the map on the wall. "How long would that take?"
"With all due respect, we would need to pack up everything and move halfway around the world. It would take a long time to mo-"
"How...long...would...it...take?" Ozai drew out coldly as he balled up his fist. He did not like the chain of command saying that things were impossible or that they would take long.
"If we started right now, we could have the base moved and packed onto three ships in eight hours. We would need to go full speed, so it would take about three weeks," the Snuffer commander calculated in his head.
"So, why did it take two months for us to move Azula?" Ozai queried as he continued to pace around his office.
"You wanted to keep tabs on her. If I remember correctly, there was another ship that made the trip in two weeks. We would need the extra week so we could transport our supplies to Ba Sing Se by train or by caravan."
"Alright; get it done. I expect to be on a ship by the end of today," Ozai ordered as he dismissed the man. The commander bowed to his leader and quickly exited the room, leaving Ozai looking at the map and smirking to himself.
"Let's see you try to find him now, daughter."
Azula was meditating on the same slab that she used to meet Avatar Yangchen. She had been visiting there for the past week and a half in an attempt to locate Aang.
When she was not searching, she was trying to create what she was calling a "balloon". Her idea worked by having a Firebender bend fire into a funnel in the center of the balloon, as hot air causes the balloon to travel upwards and downwards when the air heats or cools inside.
Azula, along with Suki, Toph, Mai, and Sokka were working around the clock to try and build the balloon so that they could get out of the open and start to look for Aang. She desired to go out and do it herself, but she had been convinced that it would not be good for her health if she swam across the ocean to try and find her boyfriend.
Everyone else was actually starting to get worried about the Princess. She was not eating, sleeping, nor meditating; her focus was strictly on the balloon. Toph had attempted to get Azula to at least take a nap, but it did not help much. All she wanted to do was work on the balloon.
One day, Sokka, Ty Lee, Suki, and Mai were gathered outside of the door to the meditation room. They were all waiting for her to get out so they could force her to sleep and eat something.
"Should we just barge in and wake her up?" Suki asked as she glanced inside the room to find the Firebender peacefully meditating.
"Yeah, she's been there for hours. You can see the sweat on her face from concentration," Ty Lee commented as she pointed to the damp clothing her friend was wearing.
"Maybe a trip to the bathhouse is in order," Mai suggested while looking at her own clothing, which also appeared quite dirty.
"I think that's a great idea," Sokka said as he started to walk into the room. "Toph already separated the pool so that Zuko and I could bathe in peace, so why don't you all do that today? I mean, we have most of the body of the balloon built and Azula just needs to weld the pieces together."
Azula was in the same field that she was in with Aang the first time they went for this technique. She could hear almost a faint whisper of someone breathing, but nothing else.
"Aang?" she called out to him. No reply. "Aang? I need you my love!" she continued to call as she continued to wander aimlessly across the wide open space. "I need you here. I need to find you, Aang!"
Suddenly she felt her mind getting pulled towards her body and she panicked, putting all her might into concentrating as hard as possible to stay in the Spirit World. Nonetheless, her mind kept getting pulled.
Azula immediately opened her eyes and groaned. She clutched her head in pain and blinked a few times. Once her eyes came into focus, she found herself staring at the concerned- and worry-filled eyes of her friends.
"Hey, Zu, how are you feeling?" Suki asked as she went to help the girl up.
"I'm fine...why are you here? I needed more time to try and find him," said Azula sternly as she stood up.
"Look, you've been in here for almost ten hours," Toph bluntly stated. "You're not sleeping and you're not eating. Bending takes up energy and you're not letting your body get rest."
The Princess glared back. "I'm fine," she restated firmly as she took a step to get off of the platform.
"Azula, you look like shit," Mai droned with a frown on her face.
"I need to keep going! I...we...need to find Aang," Azula replied as she pushed herself off of Ty Lee and slowly started to make her way out of the room, only to be encased in stone.
"If you don't rest, I'm gonna destroy this altar," Toph threatened as she held out her hands.
"You wouldn't," Azula muttered through gritted teeth as she worked to heat up the rock to free herself.
"Try me," Toph dared as she lifted up a ball of stone above the altar.
Azula looked on in horror and finally gave in. She stopped struggling and looked down defeatedly. "Fine. I'll eat and sleep, but please don't destroy that altar. It's the only way I can talk to Aang. Please, Toph, I beg you!" Tears started to run down her face.
Everyone looked at her with a strong sense of empathy. They all knew how much finding Aang meant to Azula and have been doing the best they could to make sure that the process would be quick.
Toph finally let go of all the stone that was surrounding her friend. The group walked her back to the main camp where they had prepared a meal for her. It consisted of some dried beef, water, fruit, and lots of nuts. Azula stared at the food briefly, immediately devouring everything in sight soon after.
Everyone smiled as they saw their friend progressing to get better and eating more than just an apple every few days. They even sat by the fire and ate a light snack as she ate.
"Wow. She really is a pig."
Azula immediately balled up her fist and sat up. She was glad that she did get something to eat because now she felt much better and could definitely whoop some ass. She looked around and found her brother looking down on her.
"Have something to say, brother?" she asked as she took a bite out of her apple.
"I was just saying that you're a pig," Zuko repeated. "You're ugly, fat, and a slob. I mean, look at the way you're eating! And to think they all believe that the Avatar actually liked you." He did a final scoff and walked away.
He kept walking, only to soon be pelted with a fireball square in the back. He turned around and saw that Azula was in a fighting stance and was prepared to send more fire back at him.
"Shut the fuck up!" Azula screamed as she sprinted towards her brother. She launched multiple fireballs in rapid succession. "I'm sick and tired of your comments about my body and about Aang!"
"Oh? And why is that? Does he need to hide behind the big bad Azula?!" Zuko taunted as he dodged the fireballs. He launched a flame kick at the girl's head.
Azula blocked it quickly with her forearm. "Sometimes I wonder why I didn't kill you when we were younger," she grumbled as she grabbed Zuko's foot and slammed him back down onto the ground. "And to answer your question: I'm assuming we are talking about two different Aang's, because I'm pretty sure he was the one to beat your ass the first time!" At this, she delivered a fire-enhanced punch to the boy's stomach.
Zuko recovered and twirled his arms around, creating a golden cyclone of fire. He launched it at Azula, who was able to easily slice through it, launching multiple torrents of fire towards the boy afterwards. She knew that Zuko would dodge them, so she flew towards him and chopped him hard in the neck, grabbing his arm and dislocating it, all while slamming him head-first into the ground.
"And stay down, you fucking asshat!" Azula cried as she dusted the dirt off of her clothing. She then returned to her friends and went back to casually eating her food. She looked around and noticed the group was still staring at her with widened eyes. "What?"
"You just effortlessly beat Zuko's ass," Sokka said, awestruck as he stared at the Firebender.
Azula merely shrugged her shoulders. "I mean, he wasn't that hard to figure out. Just get him slightly off-balance and he's toast," she explained nonchalantly as she bit into another apple.
"Yeah, but you did it so easily," Suki commented.
"Like I said, once you figure him out, he's very easy to deal with," Azula calmly stated with a smirk on her face.
"Would you be able to do the same with all of us?" Toph asked with a smirk of her own. She had not had a chance to fight Azula, so she was eager to see how she stacked up against her.
"No, you all are much harder to figure out," the Princess replied. "It would be a very nice challenge to have to fight you, but thankfully, we will never have to do that."
"Yeah, but still, with your physique, it's very hard to imagine you moving like...well...that!" Suki mentioned.
Azula laughed and took a sip of water. "What, you think that just because I'm a little tubby that I can't fight still? I was the best Firebender in the Fire Nation, only second to Ozai himself. If anything, it actually makes my attacks much stronger since fat is a very good insulator and makes the body run warm. Plus, Aang seems to like it," she added with a smirk on her face.
"Interesting," Sokka said as he looked at Suki with a smile.
"Don't even think about it!" Suki shot back as she wacked him over the head, causing everyone to laugh even more.
Everyone continued to eat and laugh late into the night as they enjoyed their breaks from their designated projects. They even convinced Azula to start taking more breaks and to keep up her health. Once everyone was content, they parted ways to their respective tents, ready to fall asleep and prepare for what the next day would bring them.
