I woke up and was confused at first as to why there was a cat on my chest. I looked down to see Kuro lying on me.
"I don't remember inviting you," I said, giving him a small pet. I sat up and he jumped down. I then got off my bed and started doing push ups when he jumped and sat on my back. "Thanks for the help," I said, sarcastically.
"Mrow," he said, pawing at my back.
I went back to doing push ups figuring this was going to be my new normal. After I did all of my push ups I wiggled Kuro off my back as I started my sit ups. I finished my work out and checked to see it was an hour later than I normally get up. I walked out to see Mrs. Nemuri getting ready to knock on the door.
"Oh, thought I heard something there. Kuro pay you a visit?" she asked.
"Yeah," I said, rubbing my eye. "So, what's the plan?"
"Well, there's coffee and food down stairs. I'm heading out for a teacher's meeting and Nari will be on patrol in a few hours. You can go to your old apartment and start gathering what you want to bring over and we can go pick you up," she said.
"Alright, I think I will, thanks," I said, walking down stairs to the kitchen to see Mrs. Nari drinking a cup of coffee. "Hello," I said.
"Hey, there's a plate for you," she said, motioning to a plate with bacon and eggs.
"Thank you," I said, taking it and going to sit at the table. I ate the food that was amazing and then grabbed my bag with my keys in it. "I'm going to head to my apartment. I'll send a message when I'm done," I said, walking out the door.
I found the station and got on accidentally bumping into someone. When I went to apologize they were gone. I sat down in an empty seat and slowly I got more and more tired. Eventually the darkness of unconsciousness took me over. I opened my eyes to see a bright light.
"Ah, good you're awake young lady," a man said.
"Huh?" I asked before squeaking as the voice that came out was much higher than my own.
"Are you alright?" the man asked, revealing himself to be a doctor. "You fell asleep on the train and when you wouldn't wake up you were brought here. We checked your bag but only found who I guess is your brother's student ID."
"Um, a-actually that's mine," I said, my voice obviously female.
"O-oh?" he asked.
"Um, when I got on the train I was male, I'm guessing I'm female now," I said, looking at my chest to see two bumps that weren't there before.
"Um, a-alright I'll be honest. I've never seen or heard of anything like this, could it be tied to your quirk?" the doctor asked.
"I don't think so. It could be someone else's quick and they accidentally activated it on me," I guessed.
"That could be possible. I'll go ask some other people, your phone is in your bag if you need to call anyone," the doctor said, walking out.
I grabbed my phone and realized it was almost dinner time. I quickly called Mrs. Nari.
"Where the hell are you?" she asked.
"Um, Mustafu hospital. I'll explain when you get here," I said.
"Alright, we'll be there in a bit. You better be fine," she said.
"I'm something," I offered.
"Just tell us the room and we'll be there soon. We're at the apartment," she sighed.
"Room 616," I said, looking at the number above the door.
"Alright, we'll be there soon," she said, hanging up.
After a few minutes the door opened and Mrs. Nari and Mrs. Nemuri walked in.
"Izuku?" Mrs. Nari asked.
"Yeah, um, so I got hit by a gender swapping quirk on the train and fell asleep and woke up here," I said.
"Well, I guess we can forgive you, but now there are some questions we need to ask," Mrs. Nemuri said. "If this is permanent are you going to be looking to be changed back into a male?"
"I-I don't know. We don't know if this is permanent or not so we should wait a day or two before making any big decisions," I said. "If it doesn't go away in a day or two we'll come back to this, is that alright?"
"Yes, now do you want to come home or stay?" Mrs. Nari asked.
"Um, if possible go back to your house," I said.
"Well, you are free to go," the doctor said, walking back in. "Other than the obvious change we did some blood work and as of right now you are genetically female. We've never heard of a quirk that has the power to change someone's genetics and the registry didn't help much either. We're not sure what to do except let you go home," he said, rubbing the back of his neck.
"I think we'll take them home, thank you," Mrs. Nari said, looking at me.
"I'll get the papers filled out," the doctor said, walking out.
"So, um, this is going to be awkward for a few days," I said.
"Why, going to feel like you're peaking at yourself?" Mrs. Nemuri asked, a grin on her face.
"Too much Nem, tone down the R-18 a bit," Mrs. Nari said.
"Alright, it was too perfect not to mention," she whined.
"I-it's fine," I said, my cheeks redder than my shoes.
"Alright, you're good to go, here are some clothes for you," the doctor said, walking in with a bag. He set it down at the end before walking out.
"Thank you," I said, taking it and going to the bathroom to change. I eventually got all my clothes off and looked at the mirror confirming what I knew. I had all the parts of a female and my hair was longer. I got the shorts on and after a moment I put the loose fitting t-shirt on over top and walked out.
"You look like a kid wearing their parent's clothes," Mrs. Nari said, giggling a bit.
"Thanks," I deadpanned.
We went out and got into their car and made our way back to their house. I went up to my room and collapsed on the bed. I laid there for a few minutes before there was a knock.
"Izuku?" Mrs. Nemuri asked.
"Yeah?" I replied.
"Can I come in?" she requested.
"Sure," I said, getting up.
"How are you feeling, and I don't mean physically, mentaly?" she asked, opening the door and sitting next to me on the bed.
"Honestly, confused, worried, but oddly more comfortable than ever," I said.
"What do you mean by that?"
"I never really felt comfortable in my own skin. I always thought it was because I was quirkless and then maybe because of how much I got bullied, but now I just feel right if that makes sense?"
"Actually, it does. I know someone who's a pro hero and didn't feel right in their skin, so they got a surgery and physically became the other gender to 'fix' the mistake at birth. They're actually in the top ten, but I won't say who. Do you think that this is who you were always supposed to be perhaps?" she asked, looking at me.
"Think so, I think I might've meant to be a girl my whole life," I said, looking down at my new body.
"Well, how about this? If it doesn't wear off and is permanent then all's well. If it does, we can take you to the hospital and have the surgery done. The next question I have is do you want to change your name? Izuku is a boy's name but you can keep it if you want," Mrs. Nemuri explained.
"I-I think I do, but what would I change it to?" I asked, trying to think of a name.
"Well, if you want to stick close to your original name you can change your name to Izumi to give it a more female feel. If you want to completely change it then we can sit down and brainstorm."
"I think I'll go with Izumi," I said, feeling a sense of belonging with it.
"Well then, Izumi, let's go get some food," Nemuri said, nudging me a bit.
"Alright," I said, smiling. The two of us got up and made our way downstairs to the dining room.
"So, what's the verdict or is the jury still out?" Nari asked, setting plates of food down.
"I am now Izumi Fukihara or Kayama, I haven't decided which yet," I said.
"Wait, what?!" both of them asked.
"Pfft, sorry it was the perfect timing, I couldn't help myself," I laughed.
"Well," Nari said, looking at her wife. "We were going to bring this up in the future but since you kinda already did. How would you feel about that happening?"
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"What Nari is saying is, how would you feel about us not being your guardians, but parents, family," Nemuri explained.
I watched as a moment flashed through my head. It was me looking at my mom standing next to a girl with medium length curly black hair and emerald eyes like my mother's. I blinked and saw Nemuri and Nari standing where my mom was but the girl was still there too. I blinked again and was back in the house.
"Y-yes," I said, a couple of tears falling. They weren't tears of sadness, but tears of happiness because I finally had a family again.
"Awe!" Nemuri said, pulling me into a big hug that Nari joined in.
We stood there for a good minute, but I felt as if someone was missing. Eventually we broke apart and sat down to eat.
"So, what do you want your last name to be?" Nemuri asked.
"Hmm, what sounds better, Izumi Fukihara or Izumi Kayama?" I asked.
"I'd have to say Izumi Kayama," Nari said.
"I'm in agreement, and not just because it's my last name," Numuri joked, with a smirk.
"Izumi Kayama, I like the sound of it," I said, testing how it sounded. "So, what's going to be tomorrow's plan?"
"Well, one of two things," Nari said. "One, we all go to the court and make you our legal daughter, or two, we drive you to the apartment and go through what you want to take."
"I think we should wait on the first one because we will also have to change my legal gender and name. Also quirks don't last longer than a day when used on others unless it's permanent," I recalled from a book I read a year ago on them. "I forgot I read that in a book a year ago. If we wait and it doesn't wear off then it's permanent."
"Well, let's get you moved into your new house tomorrow. Anything you don't want to keep we can sell," Nari said.
"Um, actually someone else, one of my mom's good friends, should also come. I can send a message explaining everything," I said, remembering Aunt Mitsuki.
"Alright, Nem and I will probably just stay back and help carry things to the car," Nari explained.
"Yeah, we don't know what should come or what should be sold," Nemuri agreed.
"Alright, tomorrow then," I said, going back to my food. I finished and walked up to my room pulling my phone out and called a number I hadn't in years.
"Izuku, Katsuki told me about what happened at school, are you alright?" Aunt Mitsuki asked.
"I'm fine," I said. "Um, so apparently with my dad living across seas I should be in foster care."
"We'll take you," she said.
"There's no need, a couple of my teachers who are heroes have already become my guardians and they might be adopting me," I said, smiling at the thoughts.
"Do you have a sore throat or something?" she asked.
"No, what I was calling about was tomorrow we are planning on getting what I want and I was going to ask if you wanted to come grab anything of my mom's since you two were good friends."
"I'll come but there isn't anything I would ever want to take. I want to meet these heroes and see if they pass my approval," she said. "Do you want me to have Katsuki come too?"
"No, I know his arm probably isn't at full strength and so I don't want him to get hurt anymore. I still feel bad about it."
"It's his fault, I told him not to put them on his costume but he insisted. Also I heard your quirk finally awoken, that's amazing. So it's a strength enhancer?" she asked.
"Um, we aren't fully sure as some more abilities have come to be during the USJ," I said.
"Well, I'll meet you there tomorrow, bye!" she said, hanging up.
"Well, oh," I said, looking down and realizing something. "I don't have any female clothes."
"We can fix that with a quick visit to the mall, they're open all night," Nemuri said, walking in. "The door was open and I couldn't help but hear."
"Thanks, so are we going now or what?" I asked.
"I'll go check with Nari but we should be good," she said, walking down. "Yep!"
Laughing I put my shoes on realizing they were a little big. I then realized that I was going to need to adjust my whole costume. I went downstairs to see both of them kissing.
"Ew," I said, turning around.
"Get used to it kid, she's R-18 for life and this is just the pg stuff," Nari said.
"Hey, that was completely you," Nemuri said.
"Let's get going," Nari said, completely ignoring the statement.
"What did I agree to?" I asked myself, walking down and getting in the back seat.
We drove to Wookies in Tokyo and started going through the different stores. We were in a girls underwear store and my face was redder than a tomato.
"You realize you are a female now right?" Nemuri whispered in my ear.
"Doesn't make it any less weird for me," I said, looking at some bras. "Um, how do I know what size to get?" I asked.
"Hmm, this should do," Nari said, grabbing a plain forest green one. "Get pairs that will match this," she said, pointing at the corner that read 34B.
"Thank you," I said, looking back at the rows.
"Hey, Mrs. Fukihara and Mrs. Kayama," a voice that froze my bones said.
"Ah, young Ashido, how are you?" Nemuri asked.
"Pretty good, I need a new sports bra after my last one go ruined during the thing," she said, getting unusually quiet. "Oh, sorry, who are you? I'm Mina Ashido," she said, turning to me.
"O-oh, I'm Izumi Kayama," I said, remembering the plan.
"Wait, Kayama, are you Mrs. Kayama's niece or something?" she asked, confused.
"Actually, to let you in on a little secret," Nemuri said. "Nari and I are married and we're adopting her."
"O-oh, that's why you two always interact oddly with each other," Ashido said. "Oh, are you here to help her with some shopping, I shouldn't have bothered you sorry."
"It's alright, it's nice to see you getting something done during the break. Well, we need to continue so we'll be seeing you later," Nari said.
"Yeah, also don't worry, I'll keep your secret," she said, walking off.
"That was, something. When classes start back things are going to be weird for me," I sighed.
"Hey, it's alright because you'll have two amazing moms there to help you," Nemuri said.
"I know, now, let's get to work on getting me more than just underwear," I said.
"You forgot to get some very needed things," Nemuri said, handing me a couple of lacey sets.
"R-really?"
"Yes, it isn't a bad idea to have some if you ever want to wear them," she said.
"Fine, but don't be surprised if I never wear them," I said, adding them to the pile.
We bought the ones I chose along with the lacey ones and a few sports bras and then we went out to get me some shirts that fit me, a couple of crop tops, some shorts, pants, a pair of booty shorts, a skirt, leggings, and shoes so I had all the basics.
"We can go get you more but this will be good for a week or two," Nari said, looking at the bags we had.
"Yeah, let's head back now. Tomorrow's a lot of moving," Nemuri said.
We all loaded up in the car and drove back to the house. We brought all the bags to my room before we all went to bed.
"Hmm, I guess mom was right, she did have two daughters," the female voice I heard before said.
"Who are you?" I thought.
"Don't you remember me? Did mom not mention me after the accident?" the voice asked.
"What?" I asked, waking up to something playing bongos on my chest. I looked down to see Kuro. "Having fun?"
"Mrow," he said, jumping off of me.
"What was that dream, and who was that?" I asked myself. I quickly got dressed(figuring the bra out was fun) and made my way down stairs.
"Ah, there you are, how did you sleep?" Nari asked.
"Pretty good, had a strange dream but other than that it was uneventful," I said. "I'm ready to go when you are," I added.
"After coffee," Nemuri said, drinking a steaming cup.
"Alright," I said, slightly grinning at the fact that she wasn't fully awake and therefore wasn't R-18 at the moment.
"Give it a couple of minutes and she'll be good," Nari said.
We sat down talking about random things while Nemuri finished her coffee. When she was done we loaded up into the car and I sent a message to Aunt Mitsuki. We drove all the way to the apartment and I saw Aunt Mitsuki standing outside of her car.
"Um, hey Aunt Mitsuki," I said, getting out and walking up to her.
"Izuku?" she asked, confused at how I looked. "Since when were you a girl?"
"Um, yesterday. I got hit by a quirk on the train and now I'm female. I'm pretty sure it's permanent as it hasn't reverted," I said. "Also, I'm going by Izumi now."
"Pfft, I guess Inko was right all along," she said, laughing.
"What do you mean?" Nari asked, walking up. "I'm Nari Fukihara by the way, also the hero Iron Sage."
"I'm Nemuri Kayama, Midnight," Nemuri introduced.
"Mitsuki Bakugou, I guess you teach my son too," Aunt Mitsuki said, introducing herself. "I guess if you're both also teachers I can trust you. Inko always said she was going to have two beautiful young girls, I guess she was right with your older sister and yourself," she said.
"Older sister?" I asked. "I never had an older sister."
"She was around five years older than you. When you were around two she got in an accident and went missing. Inko blamed herself and your father was so heartbroken he left. He never wanted to see the place where his only daughter was lost again. The odd part is Inko said she felt as if she never truly left. I forgot she never told you."
"Why wouldn't she?" I asked.
"When you were declared quirkless your mom thought you would feel bad to know your older sister did have a quirk and it might cause you to resent everyone in your family. Well, I've made my determination on you two," Aunt Mitsuki said, looking at the two heroes. "You seem like good people and from what my son's said about your classes and I can tell by the way you reacted to that information that you will keep her safe. I'll trust you, just make sure she keeps in contact. Also, don't get cocky brat," she said, ruffling my hair.
"I won't, thank you for telling me about my older sister, what was her name?" I asked.
"Hina, well I gotta go make sure Katsuki isn't over doing it with his arm. See you later," she said, getting into her car.
"Wow, I had an older sister," I said, amazed. "I wonder how she went missing."
"We can do some looking into that later, let's get to work on the house," Nari said.
We all went up. I started putting my books and most of my merch into boxes. I then got to my mom's room and took a breath as I opened the door. It looked just the same as when I went in previously while my mom was alive. There wasn't much in here except for the closet that I wanted to go through. I started taking out the boxes, finding some pictures of a younger version of the girl from my visions holding what looked like a baby me. I then saw a thin curved katana in a dark blue sheath with black cloth on the handle. I grabbed it and went into the open space of the room.
"I didn't know mom had a katana," I said, pulling the blade out of the sheath. There was a low blue glow from the blade for a moment before it died down.
"Finally, you found me," the voice from my dreams said in front of me.
"Huh?" I asked, looking up to see the girl from my vision. "Who are you?" I asked, backing away as the sword fell.
"Wait, no, dang it. My first chance to talk to my younger sibling and they're scared of me," she sighed.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Wait, you can still see me? But I thought you had to be holding the sword to see me?" she said, tilting her head at me.
"Who are you and why are you in my mom's room?" I asked.
"You mean our mom's room. I'm your older sister, Hina Midoriya," she said.
"Izumi, what's going on?" Nemuri asked, walking in.
"She says she's my sister," I said, pointing at Hina.
"Who?" Nemuri asked, confused.
"They can't see me, have her hold the sword," Hina explained.
"Um, hold this," I said, holding the katana up.
"Alright," Nemuri said, taking the sword.
"Hi," Hina said.
"Oh, um, hello," Nemuri said, visibly confused at the sight.
"Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. The katana was in my mom's closet and when I drew it she appeared," I said.
"How did this happen to you?" Nemuri asked.
"It's a long story, you might want to get the other hero in here," she said. "And maybe call someone who knows more about magic."
"Nari, call Strange and have him come here," Nemuri called out.
"Why?" Nari asked, walking and seeing the katana.
"Take this."
"Alright," Nari said, taking the katana.
"Hi," Hina said.
"Oh, I see why," Nari said.
"Wait, where did she go?" Nemuri asked.
"Wait, you can't see me anymore?" Hina asked, looking at Nemuri.
"I'm guessing not," Nari said, looking at Nemuri who didn't react.
"What?" Nemuri asked.
"Why can I still see her though?" I asked, looking at Hina and then Nemuri and Nari.
"I'll make a quirk call," Nari said, setting the katana down and pulling her phone out and walking out of the room.
"I can still see you but not hold the katana," I said, looking at it lying on the ground and Hina who sat on the bed.
"Maybe because we're family, also, you're going by Izumi now right?" Hina asked.
"Yeah, I guess this is weird for you, your little brother becoming your little sister," I said.
"Eh, I've been trapped in a sword since I was seven so it isn't that weird," Hina said. "Are you happy this way?"
"Yeah, it just feels right," I explained.
"Then I'm happy too," she said, tucking her hair behind her ear.
"This is odd hearing only half of a conversation," Nemuri said, looking at me.
"I totally forgot she was in here," Hina said.
"Sorry, Nemuri," I apologized.
"It's fine, just weird," she said, smiling a bit.
"So, why did you ask me to come here?" a low voice asked.
"I'll show you, come with me Stephen," Nari said, walking in with a man with black hair and a goatee in blue robes, a red cloak, and a golden eye shaped amulet around his neck.
"Um, hello," I said, looking at the man.
"Ah, I'm assuming you're who I've been told about, Nari's successor. I'm Dr. Stephen Strange," he said.
"Wait, you're the hero Dr. Strange," I said, realizing who he was.
"Yes, I am also reigning Sorcerer Supreme. What do you know of the magic arts?"
"You mean magic quirks?" I asked.
"You don't know? With your power I would think you would know more about it. Wait, didn't you say they were a male?" Dr. Strange asked Nari.
"She was, she turned into a girl through a quirk yesterday, we aren't sure how?" Nemuri said.
"Oh, well it could be a quirk that fixes things. I can sense spirits, and you were born with a female spirit but in a male's body, it's not all that rare. Well, anyways let me tell you about magic and the truth kept from most of the world and only select heroes know. Magic quirks aren't real, magic is the use of energy from either one's self, the world around them, demons, or another source. My protege Negi who you have met uses magic from himself and is classified as a Wizard. I draw my power from the world around us and even objects like that relic over there," he said, pointing to the katana.
"Relic?"
"Objects imbued with magic. I would say you have a history of magic users in your family. Now, I've never seen or heard of this relic," he said, picking it up.
"Um, hello?" Hina asked.
"Well then, this is quite strange. Your soul is residing in this katana, how?" Dr. Strange asked, looking at Hina.
"Um, can you help me with an astral projection so I only need to tell this once?" she asked.
"Ah, yes, I think I see," he said, sending a wave of golden energy through the sword.
"What was that?" I asked, looking at what he did.
"You can see my magic energy? Your family must've been sorcerers."
"We were, well, our mom was," Hina said.
"Wow, she's actually astral projecting," Nemuri said.
"Wait, you two know about magic?" I asked, looking at my guardians.
"Most teachers at UA know, I taught most of them about it," Dr. Strange said. "Now continue if you may," he said, looking at Hina.
"Well, mom was training me to use my magic, specifically to fuse it with my quirk flame sword which allowed me to coat a sword or stick in flames of different temperatures and colors. She went to pick Izuku up from the Bakugou's and I tried doing it with the katana she had gotten me. I forced too much magic in as I was only seven and still learning. I ended up somehow fusing my body and soul into the sword. When mom got back and saw it she sensed my powers in it and feared that if she were to touch it my magic and soul would be lost forever so she sealed it and I kinda went to sleep even though I could sense Izuku. A couple weeks ago it changed, I regained most of my consciousness. I reached out to Izuku through his dreams but I guess mom never got to teach him before dying and dad knew nothing of magic," Hina explained. "I don't know why Izumi can see me even if she isn't holding the sword."
"Because, there is a magical bond between siblings and more so between siblings with natural access to magic. The two of your magic energy's are connected and because of this she can see you and even be the only one who can truly use this relic you not only made but trapped yourself in. I can do some research with the help of Wong and see if we can find a way to get you out. Until then. Izumi could carry the katana with her and while I'll explain everything to Nezu he can help us come up with a good explanation that works with why only Izumi can use the sword fully," Dr. Strange explained. "Oh, also how's Kuro? I'm still amazed that a demon cat decided to stay with you."
"Wait, he's an actual demon cat?" I asked.
"Trust me, your world will be opened wide in the coming months. Actually, you can also have Kuro join her as hero companion so she can tell when something is supernatural. Nezu most likely won't have any issues," Dr. Strange added.
"Knowing him he already knows and has four different ideas," Nari said.
"Actually I only have three," Principal Nezu said, walking out of an orange circle that was sparking into existence. "Of course they are three amazing ones."
"I still don't know how you do that without a sling ring," Dr. Strange said.
"So, young Izumi Kayama knows about our world and her sister is also part of it," he said, looking at Hina. "We can easily say they both have magic quirks and her sister's transmuted her body into a sword as magic quirks are known to possibly bend reality with transformations. We can then say young Izumi is learning to control her natural powers and her magic requires no incantations but that's why she's the only one that can use the katana. Also if I am correct there is a way for her sister to temporarily get a body. With relics like this there are stages, I would say that the first stage is she can use her quirk on the sword, the second might be able to give her a body and she can fight with the sword giving Izumi the ability to deal with more, the way to activate this stage is a mystery however," Nezu said.
"Are we sure his quirk is just his mind?" I asked.
"Well, it does help that I use magic to increase my thinking speed at times," the principal explained.
"That's not what I, whatever," I sighed.
"Just don't question it," Nemuri said.
"We learned that lesson years ago," Nari added.
AN-
So, this added some of the biggest changes compared to the first fic. From here on things will be changing and going in a different direction at times. A lot to unpack in this chapter and I'll admit a couple of things were rushed but I couldn't find a better place to end this chapter than here. So, Izumi has magic but she won't be a sorcerer like Strange or a wizard like Negi. She will be using her magic to help her sister Hina to astral project and do a couple of other things. Also, for the bra size I had the most awkward conversation with my sister asking how they worked and figuring out what Izumi's would be so you can't say I didn't sacrifice my dignity for this. Next chapter will have a small time skip(one day) and will have another big reveal(unless you've read the last fic) and be hilarious. Also I totally see Nezu using magic and the next chapter will give a different way for them to explain Izumi's full power and "magic" quirk that is slightly less bs than Nezu's explanation.
