Chapter 17

Hermione ran fast through the grounds and caught up to where Tonks was standing, Remus almost at them.

"Where were you?" Tonks asked Hermione, who was trying to catch her breath.

"I just needed a break upstairs", Hermione waved her question away," I started thinking about Harry and Ron."

Tonks gave her a sympathy smile and wrapped an arm around the girl's shoulders. A moment of guilt swept through Hermione for using her friends as an excuse for her indiscretions with their sworn school enemy, but beggars can't be choosers.

"Do we have any ideas or is this another surprise?" Hermione asked. Last 'surprise' being there two recent additions.

"Just that it's another Slytherin", Tonks shrugged.

Hermione smirked," Aren't they all?"

Remus reached them quickly and jumped down from his spot atop the carriage and ran over to the door.

"It's an emergency, he needs help now", Remus threw open the door, and levitated the body of what appeared to be a boy out of the carriage. Hermione ran over and quickly started running her wand over the body. She could detect a faint heartbeat and silently thanked Merlin in her head for taking the time to learn first aid and pouring over medical books.

"Bring him to the dining room table", Hermione told Remus" Quickly."

"How did this happen?" Hermione started wiping the blood off the body. She had start administering potions and medicine as soon as the body touched the table. She told Luna and Tonks to keep all the students occupied, and in her mind, especially Draco.

Remus sighed and got her fresh, clean water again," We found him after a battle had occurred. He was left to die."

She started wiping off his face. His black hair was dirty and felt matted in some places. His cheekbones sharp, but his face rounder. With every wipe of blood and dirt, his appearance seemed obvious.

"It's Theodore Nott", Hermione muttered," 7th year, same as me. And they just left him to die. They left a kid to just die… I don't understand why they struggle to switch the light side when they leave kids to just die when they're done with them."

Hermione could feel herself wanting to cry and begged her body to not let the tears escape.

"Well, if you can make Draco Malfoy switch sides", Remus tried to ease her sadness," Then surely you'll be able to change any Death Eaters."

Hermione smirked and looked at the student that lied on the table before her. He had lost weight since she had last seen him. His skin looked sick and gaunt.

"Let's bring him to a room where he can rest more", Hermione instructed," We should keep him on a light sedation for now until I can further see if he has any internal injuries."

They brought him upstairs and placed him in a room next to Tonks.

"How is he doing?" Tonks peeked into the room as Remus laid him onto the bed.

"He will get better", Hermione sighed," With time. Just keep an ear out for him. I'll be back soon to administer more medicine."

"Thank you, Hermione", Tonks smiled," We would always be lost without you. Now go wash up! You're a mess."

Hermione looked down at her outfit and saw how much of his blood and dirt had moved onto her own clothes, arms, and most likely her face.

"Good idea", she grimaced and walked out of the room, but not before seeing Remus smile at his wife and give her a warm kiss hello. Regardless of the circumstances, she always loved his part of getting new recruitments… Seeing Tonks and Remus reunite. You could just feel the love between them, and she yearned for a love like that for her own. She stalked back to her room, exhausted from the day's activities. She felt bad that Luna's event had to get cut short. She saw the students being walked back in by Luna as she was walking out to meet Tonks. Hermione figured she should tell Luna what is going on, but from the highs and lows of today, her feet brought her to her own bedroom door. Opening the door, she wouldn't admit out loud she was disappointed that Draco wasn't there, but slightly relieved. Right after that though, however, she heard her bathroom door open.

"Surprise!" she heard him laugh," You thought I wouldn't be here.
She turned and smiled tiredly at him, but the smile fell when she saw horror wash across his face.

"Hermione, what happened!" he raced over to her and started looking all over her, lifting and moving different parts of her body," What did they do to you? Where are you bleeding?"

"It isn't my blood", she shook her head," It's Theodore Nott's. He was severely injured in battle and Remus rescued his body."

"Shit", Draco muttered. He stayed quiet for a moment and shrugged," Well serves him right. He was a shit fighter anyways."

Hermione frowned at him," Draco, that is an awful thing to say."

He rolled his eyes and smirked back at her," Awful? Sure… True? Yes and quite frankly, he's an ass."

"He's fighting for his life, Draco", Hermione told him. She didn't know whether to be indifferent or disgusted by his responses. She always thought Theo was his friend. This is Malfoy though, and she of all people know how cruel he can be.

Cruel...

He used to be so cruel to her and now he lusted for her.

"I don't wanna talk about that prick anymore", Draco looked down at her," I wanna get you out of these bloody clothes. Do you need help?"

She looked up at him with tired eyes and slowly shook her head. She didn't want to fight with him after today. He was becoming her safe space which made her heart swoon, but made her brain laugh.

He didn't break eye contact with her as he slowly lifted her blood-stained long sleeve shirt over her head. She was still wearing her bathing suit underneath. She saw him eye her hickeys and he smirked as his eyes met hers again.

"Would you like a shower, Granger?" he asked. His eyes were full of lust and his smile said mischief. She slowly nodded again, not trusting her voice now. He held her hand, walking backwards, pulling her with him, not breaking eye contact with her. She shut the door behind her as he went over and turned on the shower, steamy hot water coming out quickly. Hermione turned to face him and was almost against his chest. He raised his arms and smiled at her knowingly. Her breathing shallowed as she took his shirt off over his head and raked her eyes over his chest. He lifted her chin and kissed her. Pressing into her lips with his, his hand starting to undo the tie of her bathing suit, peeling it away from her.

Her hands quickly went to cover her exposed chest, but he pulled her hands down, not breaking their kiss. She moaned into his mouth as he kissed her harder, his tongue grazing her lips. She was aware that all she had on was the bathing suit bottoms.

"Draco", she muttered against his lips," I don't know if I'm ready."

"We're not doing that", he assured her," But I do want to see you."

He dipped his bands underneath the bottoms and slowly moved them down, so they fell at her ankles. He broke their kiss and stepped back to look at her. His eyes moving down her body, drinking her in slowly as he eyes met hers again. He wasn't smiling. He wasn't frowning. She couldn't read his expression and it bothered her deeply.

"Is- Is there something wrong?" Hermione started to cover herself with her hands.

Draco slowly shook his head," No, Granger. Nothing is wrong with you at all."

She squeaked as he pulled her to him roughly and dove his hands into her hair. He held her against his lips as he growled," Untie my shorts."

Her heart was hammering in her chest and her fingers were shaking as she fumbled with the tie. She loosened them and dared not to look down as she pushed them down his legs, letting them fall to the floor, but she could feel it against her. He slowly walked them into the shower, kissing her neck and shoulders along the way. The heat stung her skin as the water rained over them.

"Do you like this?" he bit up and down her neck, his hands kneading her and rubbing her.

"Yes", she croaked out, holding onto his back. He turned her around so her back was against his chest, sucking at her neck, his hands ran down her body and cupped her. She moaned as he started rubbing her most sensitive spot and started grinding against his hand.

"Do you like this?" he whispered in her ear, nipping it after. She shook her head and moaned louder.

"Use your words, Granger", he moaned.

"Yes", she gasped," I like it."

"Reach around", he growled," Reach around and hold me."

Her mind must have been completely gone because she just blindly followed orders, reaching around her back and grasping him there. She had never seen one in person, but she felt how big he was.

"Move her hand, up and down", he instructed. He started matching her moans as she started, and she felt how much he wanted her too. She looked down at his arm still rubbing her, now entering her with two fingers and saw the mark. The Dark Mark. He had gotten it and there it was, staring at her in the face as his fingers moved in her and her hand grasp him.

It's just a mark she told herself… It doesn't define him.

She knew he was changing already. He wouldn't be in here with her if he hadn't.

"I'm going to come, Hermione", he grunted, snapping her thoughts," I need you to come."

He started rubbing her faster and her knees started buckling. She hit her climax and squeezed her eyes shit tightly, clenching his hand between her thighs.

"Oh, Draco", she moaned. She felt him let out a moan as she felt hotness land on her backside, his head resting against the back of hers. Their chests heaving as his hands gripped her waist.

"You have no idea how bad I needed that", he laughed out," I was tired of doing it myself."

She smirked and turned around, letting the water wash her backside and wrapped her arms around his neck. His cheeks were flushed, and his eyes were misty with lust. He smiled, leaning his forehead against hers, pulling her body against his.

"I worship you."

Blaise frowned, fiddling with a button on his jumper, waiting for breakfast to appear in front of him. The problem was no one was there. He thought after the abrupt ending of their activity yesterday with Remus showing up, people would be buzzing about who the new addition was. He peeked out his door and saw Draco leave Hermione's room, a satisfied smile on his friend's face between his rosy cheeks and decided it was a good look for him. Draco needed more color in his face.

"Where is everyone?"

Speak of the devil and he shall appear.

"I literally have no idea", Blaise huffed," And I don't know how to cook breakfast."

"Do you know how to cook anything or just breakfast?" Draco scoffed.

"Like you know how to cook anything either!" Blaise admonished," What have you ever made besides people being miserable?"

"Oh, you wound me so", Draco rolled his eyes," Where is Looney Bird? I bet she can cook."

"Don't call her that", Blaise rolled his eyes," And I don't know where she is. Maybe the bookworm can cook us something. Would you say she's up yet?"

Draco glared at his friend," How would I know?"

Blaise shrugged," I don't know… Just thought you might. Thought I saw you near her door this morning is all."

"Nope", Draco answered sharply," Must've been someone else."

"Must've been", Blaise muttered.

"Good morning to you both", they heard and saw Luna walking towards them," How are you both today?"

"I'm doing great!" Blaise startled her with his exclamation that was dripping in sarcasm.

"Blaise is upset because no one is here to cook him eggs and toast", Draco sneered.

"It's Saturday", Luna informed them," Just like normal school, people take weekends off here for personal time."

Blaise and Draco looked at each other in surprise. They had no idea what date it was, let alone what day.

"But if you two would like, I can teach you how to make pancakes", Luna smiled.

Hermione was about to enter the kitchen when she heard shouting.

"Draco, you burned the one side!"

"No, I didn't! It was your job to flip it, idiot! I am in charge of eggs."

"Draco, it isn't nice to call people names.

"Yeah, ferret!"

"Blaise, you too! It's just breakfast."

"What's going on in here?" Hermione laughed and walked in on a disaster.

"We're making breakfast!" Luna exclaimed with a smile.

"Is that what this is?" Hermione chuckled at Draco frowning, glowering at her with flour on his face.

"Yeah, it would be anyways if Blaise didn't burn everything", Draco frowned," We were gonna surprise you."

"You were gonna surprise her", Blaise rolled his eyes," I'm just hungry."

"I can't eat anyways", Hermione waved away the smell of burnt pancakes," I gotta go do treatments and remedies. I'll see you guys later."

"Treatments for what?" Blaise asked once Hermione was out of ear shot. Draco didn't say anything, just focused on his pancake waiting to see the bubbles so he could flip it.

"We have a new student", Luna informed him," But he is injured so Hermione is treating him."

"Do I get to know who it is? Blaise inquired. His interest was piqued. Who could it be and were they friends?

"Theodore Nott", Luna smiled at him.

Nope. Definitely not friends.
