Okay! This is a story idea by Tracie Adams and she wanted me to help write it. These are her ideas and we really hope that you like this story. It is called Descendants of the Gods. Please let me know what you think!
Demigods. What can we say? They are a handful. They break the rules, run around like they know everything, and think they are invincible. Especially my daughter, Mal. She is a fireball, and that would be putting it lightly. I don't know how many times I have found her breaking the rules with her friends, or should I say cousins, I can't decipher our family tree anymore. We're a mess. But, moving on. Our story begins with my Mal and her friends talking about how bored they were. Which makes no sense to me because WE ARE GODS, but let's get this ball rolling.
"What do you want to do today?" Uma asked as she started to kick her feet back and forth in the water.
"What is there to do, other than sit here and be bored," Mal said as she sat down and started to sketch in her book.
"We could go fix our hair," Evie said as she started to comb through her long black hair with her fingers.
"No offense, Evie, but I would rather shave my head, before we sat around and did our hair again," Mal said.
"We could go over battle strategies," Audrey suggested.
"We could also drown ourselves," Uma said. "Enough with the "miss tough" stuff, and just relax."
Doug flew down and stood on a rock as the girls turned to look at them.
"Hello, ladies," he said as he sat down and kicked his shoes off. "What have you been up to today?"
"The same thing we do everyday," Mal said with a kind smile. "Absolutely nothing," she said as she turned her smile into a frown.
"I would rather relax like you than fly around with my dad all of the time," he said. "I hate going down to earth."
"Why? Is it bad?" Evie asked as she leaned her head on Doug's shoulder.
"No," he said as he shook his head. "I should say, I hate going to earth, because I hate leaving it."
"Why?"
"It's an interesting place," he said. "There is so much to do and see. You could spend years down there and not do or see everything."
Mal and Uma shared a look, telling each other that they were thinking the same thing.
"No," Doug said as he shook his head. "I know those looks, and if you two go down there, your dads are going to kill you. And that is saying something for you Mal, because you are the daughter of the God of Death."
"Ooooo," she said. "I'm so scared. What is he going to do?"
"He can't really do anything," Evie said. "He is a sap when it comes to Mal, and she has him wrapped around her finger."
"I am not helping you sneak down to earth, just to be smot by your uncle. No way. No how."
"Well one," Uma said as she held up a finger. "We didn't ask for your help. And two, we don't need your help."
"How…"
"Don't worry about it," Mal said as she smirked to herself. "We got everything covered."
Later that night Mal and Uma walked to the gate of Olympus, only to be stopped by Audrey.
"You guys aren't serious," she said, making them turn to look at her. "You guys aren't really going down there."
"We're bored," Uma said. "And we are only going to be gone for a couple of hours. What is the harm?"
"The harm is that you both are going to be seriously in trouble with Zeus."
"I am not afraid of lightning butt," Mal said. "And if we get caught, we will do what we do best."
"Ask for forgiveness," Uma said, finishing Mal's statement.
"Fine, but don't come crying to me when you two get your butts hit with a lightning bolt."
Audrey turned and walked away from them, leaving Mal and Uma to walk through the gates of Olympus.
"Wish me luck," Uma said as she turned into a rainfall, and fell down to earth.
Mal smiled before she consumed herself in purple flames. Her feet hit something hard, and when the flames cleared, she found herself standing in a narrow passageway. The floor was wet and uneven, there was a big smelly metal box, and she heard hissing coming from the shadows.
"And why did Doug find this place appealing?" She asked as she walked out of the alleyway, and toward a lighter part of earth.
There weren't many people walking around, but there were a couple of people, and Mal thought that they were dressed funny. Or more of Mal being dressed funny. She looked around and saw how people were dressed, and decided she needed to blend it. She moved into a dark corner, before consuming herself in smoke, and when she stepped out she was wearing a pair of crop mom jeans, a blue tank top, and a black leather jacket. Her hair was still purple and a pair of birkenstocks. She walked out into the world, and started to roam around, not knowing where she was going. There were people laughing and smiling, not just lying around being bored. She walked through this small forest that had a pathway and benches along it. She heard people talking and a little girl had called it a park, making Mal assume that she was walking through a park. She walked for what felt like hours just admiring all the things around her. She stopped in her tracks when she saw a small bookshop that was called 'Timeless Tales of Gods and Heroes'. She walked up to the door and when she stepped inside, a bell dinged, making her jump.
"Hello?" A man said, making Malturn to see a man pop up from behind a counter.
He had honey brown hair and hazel green eyes. Mal looked at him with a curious look as he gave her a king smile.
"What can I help you with?" He asked.
Mal shook her head. "I am just here to look," she said.
"Okay," he said as he nodded his head and walked from around the counter. "Have a look around and let me know if you need any help. My name is Ben."
Mal gave him a nod, before she started to wander around the store. This was more than just a bookstore. There were tapestries, mock jewelry that was almost identical to ones her family wore, and so much more.
"Something caught your eye?" Ben asked as he walked up behind Mal.
"I was just looking at the jewelry you sold," she said as she picked up a pendant that looked just like the one she was wearing.
"I like that one," he said, making her turn to look at him. "It's actually one of my favorites, and I am not saying that because this is my store."
Mal chuckled at the joke, before she put the pendant down and touched the one that was around her neck.
"I see you are a Greek God lover too?" He asked as he started to move some of the books around on the shelves.
"You could say that," Mal said as she nodded her head.
"May I see?" He asked as he pointed to her necklace.
"Um… sure," she said as she moved her hand to let him observe her necklace.
"It's beautiful," he said. "The pendant of Lord Hades, God of the Dead."
"How did you know that?" She asked.
"Well, I am a Greek God enthusiast," he told her. "And Lord hades is my favorite."
Mal tried not to chuckle, hearing her dad being someone's favorite. She didn't know how much he knew, but she wanted to know what people on earth thought of them.
"What do you know about them?" Mal asked as she turned and leaned against a table.
"What do you want to know?" He asked as he smiled down at her.
"Enlighten me."
Ben pulled out a chair for her and they both sat down and talked for a while. Mal was impressed by his knowledge, and as they talked she wanted to know more about him.
I am working on Time for Changes and Connections! I am hopefully going to have them up and ready in the next week!
Until next time my lovies! xoxo GM
