Chapter 14: The Boy

Darkness had fallen by the time Tae-Jun gave up on his search for Yona. Hak, had wrapped his sleeveless tunic jacket around her as she had fallen asleep against his side. Their hiding place seemed to be perfect in evading the nimwit and his soldiers. However, come morning he wasn't sure where to begin looking for Zeno. The Ouryuu warrior seemed to have vanished into thin air. He lost sight of the blonde after running with Yona.

Sighing he decided to try and get some sleep, unfortunately sleep evaded him. Nightmares instead; plagued the young man. In his dreams he saw Su-won killing King Il and then turn his blade upon Yona. He saw Kouka burning from division and four lights trying, but failing to stop a darkness that was trying to consume everything in its path.

Opening his eyes, Hak saw where he was and that he had the tightest grip upon Yona, keeping her safe and secure at his side; even in his sleep. Sweat glistened down his face as it fell down from his forehead. The dreams had seemed so real. Leaning his head back against the rock wall behind him, Hak sighed in relief because they hadn't been real; just something his mind had come up with.

Lifting his eyes towards the sky above them, Hak could see the red gleaming light signaling that morning had finally come. Looking back at Yona, Hak decided to let her sleep just a little longer. She had already been through so much, she deserved a little more sleep.

By the time Yona woke up the sun was already up in the sky. Hak led her over to the entrance of their hide away. He was the first out. Before letting her follow him, Hak held his hand out behind himself. Silently telling her not to follow. Listening to the animals and morning sounds around them, Hak could hear a almost silent crunching of gravel beneath feet. Moving quickly and quietly towards a bend in the path, Hak brought his weapon around and next to the neck of the unknown person approaching their position.

A young man with auburn colored hair stopped in his tracks. "Gah!" he cried out in surprise before jumping backwards away from the blade.

Hak quickly grabbed the young man to stop him from falling off the cliff's edge. "Careful!" he yelled at the boy.

"Says the man who almost cut off my head!" the youth yelled back.

"A kid shouldn't be sneaking around at this hour." Hak retorted as he felt Yona come up behind him.

The boy's eyes widened. "You must be Yona." Hak's hand tightened on his weapon. "Zeno sent me to find you." He stated quickly once he saw Hak's grip tighten on the large weapon.

"You know Zeno?" Yona inquired as she stepped out from behind Hak.

The young man sighed. "Not quite." He shook his head. "Stupid Ik-su says he's important, and wanted me to go find his companions." He stated sounding annoyed.

"Oh." Yona said sounding a bit disappointed before bowing to him. "Thank-you for finding us." Hak noticed the look of shock in the youth's eyes when she bowed to him before a light blush crossed his face.

Turning in embarrassment he spoke. "Y-Yeah. You're welcome." He crossed his arms over his chest. "You're just lucky I'm a genius when it comes to finding things." He began to walk away. "By the way, I'm Yun. You're friend is this way." He continued to walk away with a light blush on his face as the two childhood friends began to follow.
