Chapter 25: The Pirates

Yona felt her face flush as the captain of the pirates looked at her. The question still ringing in her mind. What can you do? That was a good question. She wasn't a fighter, she barely could shoot more than a hundred arrows in a night. She couldn't fight with a sword or with her hands. She couldn't cook very well. Wasn't a healer. What could she do? Yona felt embarrassed. She had gone her whole life thinking her life would already be planned out for her and now it felt like everything was spiraling out of control and nothing had been the same since that night.

"Miss doesn't fight." Zeno spoke catching the captain's attention. "However, if you want our help; she stays."

Gigan looked at the faces of each of the young men. It was true that her men were in desperate need of help and these boys could definitely do some damage. The girl looked like she could have potential but as to what, Gigan wasn't sure. She saw the red hair of the girl and knew exactly who she was. She had heard rumors of what truly transpired in the capital. That the king was killed by his nephew and not the wind general, who she believed to be the dark haired boy that Jae-ha was so interested in.

Gigan took a puff from her pipe. "My men have been hurt from the exercise that your people have just put them through." she stated as she eyed the girl carefully. "I want you to go and get the medicinal plant used to treat their wounds. It only grows on the ledge of a cliff under a tree." She saw Jae-ha twitch as she spoke and smirked. She was certain he'd be leaving with this girl once things were said and done.

"I'll do it." Yona said full of confidence.

Gigan saw the young men open their months to object. She wants to prove to them and herself she can do it. Gigan thought as she listened to the young men yell out their frustration. It was interesting to see that the blonde youth and dark haired young man were the loudest in protesting against her going to get the drug.

"Enough!" she yelled at the group. Looking at Yona, Given looked at her. "You'll leave in the morning. Jae-ha will take you to the cliffs where you get the senjuso." She blew out the smoke from her latest puff from her pipe. "You get the drug, you'll prove to me you are worthy of helping us." With those words she walked away leaving Yona and her group to handle the injuries they had caused.

Several hours after coming aboard the ship, Yona found herself looking up towards the sky. The bright stars seemed to shine even brighter than usual. What if I can't do it? she thought, doubting herself. What if I fall into the sea? Jae-ha is to take me there but he hates me. He thinks I want to control him. She knew everyone thought she was the reincarnation of Hiryuu, but even if she was his reincarnation, she was also Yona. She had fumbled with the words when Gigan had asked her what she could do. The truth was, she didn't really know what she could do.

I want to be useful. I want to have the same strength Hak has. I don't want to be burden. Looking at her hands, Yona could feel them shake slightly. I don't want to be afraid anymore.

Above her, in the crowd nest, Jae-ha sat watching her. Hating the feeling the blood in him gave him. He wanted to hold her against his body and keep her to himself. Grasping his head with his hand, Jae-ha groaned at the feelings he was having. The thought of something bad happening to her or someone like Yang Kum-ji touching her, made his blood boil with an anger unlike anything he'd ever felt. He didn't like this. He didn't like it at all.

M-Angel: It's nice to finally be able to put out a new chapter. Been without internet for a little over a week. Finally moved into my own place. Kind of filled with anxiety, excitement and worry; but mostly excited. Hope this chapter was good for everyone. ^_^
