Author's Note: I'm sorry to say that I have no longer have a Beta Reader, this is what Slicerness had to say: Beta reading in general has been something I've just lost the passion for in the past few months, and the truth is that your stuff involves a lot more work than everything else I've been requested to do.

So I'm now without a Beta Reader, and so these stories will be rough until I find a new Beta Reader. Slice was able to tell me what my bad habits were: Repeating myself, writing the tense - past, present, future tense - sentence structure, and also using the same words a lot. Another problem he found was that I often don't keep characters in-character too, like Harry and the Veela vault incident. As before he worked on it, Harry was going to act both wildly out of character and door knob humping retarded. He also said I should write the scene around the characters, don't shove the characters into already decided roles in a situation. Another thing he said was about names, I use names when I could be using he or she and descriptive words.

So I would like to ask if any of you are willing to Beta Read for this story - and my other works too - and help me with these problems, to either leave a review, PM me and e-mail me at dark_harry_fan at hotmail dot com

One last thing, although I want someone to help with the problems mentioned above, I would like it if the Beta Reader could help coming up with new ideas and plot for my stories, and is willing to help with adding, changing and removing things to make my work better. I ask as I find that Beta Reader, who have a new set of eyes to the story, and might be able to find things that I missed.

Chapter Fifteen!

The Krakken - Part 2 (From Season 1 Episode 3)

6th of June 2001:

It took just a little longer than two hours for everyone that was in the water during the Krakken attack to be checked out. Everyone was thankfully unharmed, scratches and small bruises aside, so they were all ushered back to wherever they were staying/parked. Most left without any prompting at all out of fear, while others got as far as the police suggesting they leave before their curiosity fizzled out. Only the Tennysons and a hand full of people stayed behind, because they were in RV's. Only the Tennysons were even considering leaving their vehicle until the police said it was clear though.

"See, I told you so." Harry said smugly, happy that he was proved right, "That was the same thing that tried to eat me last night. Me and Shaw were right."

"Just you two were right about the Krakken, doesn't mean I'm wrong about Shaw." Max began, "I would like you to stay away from the man, he could be dangerous."

"Oh don't worry about that. I agree completely, the guy is nuts." Harry placated the man.

"I think its best that we leave this to the experts." Max explained reasonably, "Like those Friends of Fish guys, its too dangerous for us to face the creature, just in case it attacks us."

"Dangerous?" Harry asked confused a bit, holding up left arm, Omnitrix glowing upon it. "No offence Grandpa, but with the Omnitrix, how can it be any more dangerous than what we've already seen?"

Just because he made a valid point didn't mean that Max wanted to put his Grandchildren into any real danger. Like facing a giant monster Krakken. He would have understood if there was no other option or if they had Plumber training to deal with such things. But they were his grandkids.

"I'm sorry Harry, but this is going to have to be the one that got away. Just let the Friends of Fish guys handle this."

Before Harry could voice his thoughts about the Friends of Fish, Captain Shaw came along muttering, "Those low down, no good fish kissers."

Turning around, Harry asked, "Captain Shaw, what is it?"

"The nerve of those environmentalists punks!" Shaw said darkly, "They shut down the whole lake. Nobody tells me where I can sail, and nobody is going to stop me from the catch of the century. Nobody!" And with those crazed words the captain walked away.

"Damn, he really has lost it," Harry said and blinked. Knowing the man was crazy and actually seeing it were two very different things.

"Language. But that's why I don't want you near him son." Grandpa Max said softly.

"I won't be." Harry replied. Turning his gaze towards his cousin he noticed Gwen's looking at him suspiciously, "What? You think I'll sneak out and follow the guy? I don't think so. Anyway, I still think we should find out why the Krakken was attacking people. It was way too focused on that crate to be a coincidence."

"And I say let Friends of Fish deal with it." Max said firmly, "It's too dangerous. I thought you didn't want to be a hero?"

"I don't." Harry said, "But at the same time I don't trust those Friends of Fish guys, I think they're part of the problem. Like I said before, the Krakken was completely focused on the crate, it didn't even try and fight back. I don't know what was inside it, that Melville guy said it was some expensive equipment they needed for their studies, but I don't believe him. He sounded so rehearsed when he answered me. I'm willing to bet those guys are most like the reason that the Krakken is attacking people. It could be possible they aren't who they say they are."

"Come on Harry." Gwen said in disbelief, "Do you really think that those guy are the bad guys here?"

"I have to agree with Gwen, Harry." Max supported, "I don't think they're here for anything else but to study like they said."

"This wouldn't be the first time someone's pretended to be a marine biologist or an animal researcher just so they could capture or poach the animal in question without being suspected until long after the crime." Harry argued, crossing his arms.

"Harry, you have a dark outlook on life." Max said sadly as he looked at his Grandson.

"No, I can just see the world for what it is." Harry informed them, "A dark place full of violence and corruption. People do whatever they want or can get away with to make easy money; it's just the way things are. Still, If you don't believe me why don't we look these guys up? Every reputable organization has a site these days to spread their message. It'll probably take five minutes tops to see if they're the real deal or not."

"Fine, we can use Gwen's laptop." Max answered, hoping that they were the real deal, "And if they are the real deal, we leave the Krakken to them. Deal, Harry?"

"Sure, we'll leave and go get some ice cream or something." Harry replied sarcastically, "When I'm proven right and they're big phonies we can get some answers from their base. Hopefully we can stop the Krakken from attacking, I don't want to find a way to kill the thing."

"Harry! You can't kill such a rare creature, no matter what." Gwen yelled. The lake monster was surely an endangered species, killing it might even wipe out the species.

"I don't see how I have much choice Gwen! Endangered or not, if it's going to act like a rabid animal then it needs to be put down like one." Harry argued just as heatedly.

"Kids, It doesn't matter who's right. The situation isn't good, and there is no right answer here. Let's just get the laptop and do a little searching.

Half an hour later, Gwen was hunched over her laptop with narrowed eyes still looking the up Friends of Fish group. "Nothing. they have absolutely nothing. No site, no forum, no youtube account, not even a yahoo group or google circle! No legitimate organization would operate without at the very least a really badly build website." Gwen explained to her grandpa, having had to deal with her school's terrible website a few times in her life. "In fact, all I've managed to find is information about Jonah Melville," She turned her laptop around so the others could see, the screen displaying a picture of the man. "Jonah isn't a friend to any wildlife, he's a well known hunter that poaches rare animal, crates them up and sells them to private collectors."

Harry took a deep breath, barely resisting the urge to cry "I told you so!" through sheer force of will. Instead, he worked hard to work things out in his head. After a few moments, Harry came up with something, "I might know what was in the crate that the Krakken took, and if I'm right, we might need to act quickly. I think it was a Krakken egg, or eggs, if they lay more than one. That would explain why it was attacking so intently, she wanted to get her babies back. And if Jonah did take her, we need to get the eggs before he leaves the area, or the Krakken could start searching the seas to find them and attack anything she comes across in her search."

Max nodded grimly, that sounded like a very good depiction of a worst possible scenario. "Okay, I'll call the Rangers and tell them what we know. We'll head out, I'm sure there is a boat we can 'borrow' for a while."

"I'm not sure where they could be though." Harry admitted.

"They had a boat, so we can assume they have a base, or at the very least an outpost of some kind by the water. Someplace that's abandoned and out of the way." Gwen theorized.

Max thought about this for a moment, before saying, "Harry, you said earlier that the crates were marked 'cannery', right?" Harry nodded, as his Grandpa went on to say, "Well I heard that there's an abandoned cannery nearby that no one has used for years. That sounds like a good place to look first."

"A good a start as any." Gwen shrugged.

That decided, Max called in the local Rangers before the three of them went down to the docks and 'borrowed' a boat to go to the cannery.

o0OoO0o

It was about half an hour before they got to this cannery that Max talked about. And the cannery that they thought was abandoned; was not. There were at least two boats at the docks and movement all around them; people moving crates, boxes and other equipment. They could also see a few tubes that seemed to be fill with what they suspected to be Krakken's eggs, but they could also see different kinds of sea animals within the tubes.

Although they were far off, so as not to be seen, they could see the upper window of the cannery; where captain Shaw was tied up in a chair and looked beaten. Seeing this Harry scoffed as he said, "Looks like our own Captain Ahab couldn't let his Moby Dick go and has gotten himself into trouble," as he saw the shock on his Grandpa's and cousin's faces he added, "What? I do read too you know and I've read Moby Dick. If I remember rightly, Ahab literally gets killed by his own harpoon and symbolically killed by his own obsession with revenge. Anyway, lets forget about me reading Moby Dick and work on what we're going to do. I say once we can get close enough not to be seen, I turn into my fish alien, and you two get Shaw and get him out of there. If possible, keep those fools busy too."

It was Max who first got over the shock of Harry reading such a book like Moby Dick; and said, "Sure Harry, that sounds like a good idea."

And so that's what they did, with the trio got as close as they could without being seen, then on the edge of the boat Harry transformed into his fish alien. As he looked into the lake, from the moonlight reflection of the water, he saw his alien form.

Once he transformed into the fish alien, Harry dropped into murky depths of the lake. Looking up he said, "You be care you two get Shaw and get out, don't do anything too foolish or get caught too."

"You also be careful too Harry," Max said in concern for his Godson. And so as Max and Gwen left to save Shaw, Harry went off to deal with Jonah and his group and get the Krakken's eggs back. Not only that, but to make as much disposition so that Max and Gwen wouldn't be detected.

Whilst Harry was swimming towards the cannery, Max drove the boat closer to the cannery. As they did, they saw a high-tech diving gear being lifted out of the waters by a crane, the diving gear was holding a round slimey object, what Max and Gwen suspected to be a Krakken's egg. As the diving gear was put on the dock of the cannery, it placed the egg into a tube which had another egg in it. As they got under the cannery, they found a ladder that went up to a hatch, so docking the boat at the ladder, Max and Gwen went up it to the decks of the cannery.

Meanwhile as Harry was about to jump up to the dock of the cannery, the Krakken jumped up to the cannery destroying parts of it to get her eggs. However, seeing the Krakken, Jonah decided that seeing the mother was there, he would try and capture it too and so getting back into the high-tech diving gear - as his crew kept the Krakken busy, by shooting with high stun guns.

Once Jonah was in his diving gear, he took hold of the tube with the Krakken's egg in, as the crane pulled him away as Jonah used the stunners on the diving gear to stun the Krakken. However, Harry was able to jump out of the water and onto the high-tech diving gear, and said, "If you want to deal with a monster, try me on for size," and then feeling the instincts of this alien, bit into the arm of the diving gear. Harry could feel his jaws slowly going through the hard metal, as he pulled the arm away. As he did, the claw that was holding the tube dropped it and and Harry had to jump down to catch it.

Harry was about to catch the tube, but only for a few seconds as the crane moved the diving gear, towards him so that Jonah could hit him and doing so making Harry drop the glass tube onto the cannery and breaking it. As the glass broke, the eggs rolled along the cannery, onto the edge of a plank of wood. But as Jonah and Harry went after the eggs, the Krakken used its tail to pick up the eggs.

However, as she did so, the crane quickly moved the diving gear to get it, and Harry could hear Jonah cry out, "My eggs!"

"There aren't your eggs," Harry shouted out as he tackled Jonah. As he did so, they knocked the eggs into the water, not wanting the eggs to be damaged and have the Krakken going on a rampage, Harry jumped ahead and caught the eggs. However, the crane dropped the diving gear into the water, where Jonah began to attack him.

"Rescuing baby's very heroic," said Jonah sarcastically, "but not very smart." And with that give one powerful punch knocking out backwards, making him drop the eggs again and allowing Jonah to pick them up.

As Harry shook his head to return his focus, Harry swim after the egg and pull the diving gear back, as he did so, Harry said, "I'm not doing this to be heroic or become a hero, I don't give a damn about that, in fact if you hadn't put people's live at risk, I wouldn't care what you were up to - all I care about is people getting hurt unneededly. Do you care that the Krakken would tear apart the seas to try and find her eggs?"

"No, by that time I'll be on my own personal island by then," Jonah explained just as he shot a spare at Harry, which made Harry let go of the diving gear dodge the spare. As Harry let go of the diving gear, Jonah sped off to get away from Harry and the Krakken.

However, this alien was built for underwater, and so speed was his thing here, and so it wasn't long before Harry caught up with Jonah once again. As Harry caught up with Jonah, they got into a rumble before Harry used his tail to hit the driving gear to knock the eggs free from its clews. With the eggs in hand, he placed them in his mouth so that his hands were free to fight, and swim away so that Jonah couldn't get the eggs again.

But as Harry was swimming away, he was attacked by the Krakken's tentacles to get to her eggs. Once she had her eggs, she began to swim away, but the fool Jonah went after the mother and the eggs. As Jonah went after them, he used some kind of soundwave to make the Krakken to drop her eggs, which he caught as the eggs fill. As Jonah began to swim away with the eggs again, up to the surface, Harry was able to quickly to catch up with him and tried to get the eggs from Jonah.

But it wasn't to be this time, as Jonah was able to dodge Harry as the alien fish tried to get him, and was able to counter with his own attack and took hold of Harry with his right claw and with the speed of the driving gear, tomporne Harry to the floor of the lake. He hit the alien into a boat, and making a gun appear from his right arm, sneered, "I don't know who the fuck you are, but you're being a pain, it's time to finish you."

However, luck was on Harry's side this time, as he was able to catch sight of an anchor attached to a chain "I don't think so," Harry said with a smirk, as he reach his right hand up to get hold of the chain and srang it at the driving gear. However, Jonah was able to dodge the attack once again, but instead of attacking, he tried to run away with the eggs again.

But Harry wasn't having any of this and so began to spin the chain before letting go of it, as he did the anchor span round the right arm of the driving gear and seeing this Harry pulled on the chain with all of his strength. As he did so, one of the arms of the gear was pulled right off.

With a arm removed, the driving gear short circuit, and the arms that were holding the eggs, dropped the eggs. Seeing this, Harry quickly caught them as the Krakken reappeared again, and as he put them I'm his mouth, he swum away.

With the Krakken behind him, Harry lead the mother to a boat graveyard, where Harry placed the eggs on the ground and said, "Here's your eggs, take them and leave."

The Lake Monster seemed to understood Harry, as that's what it was going to do. However, as the mother picked her eggs up with her tentacles, Jonah seemed to have his driving gear working, as he was driving to get the eggs. However, the Krakken was ready for Jonah this time, as she caught him with her tentacles and tore the driving gear apart.

Although Jonah wasn't going to give up without a fight, foolishly he pulled a knife from his boot and stab the Krakken's teeth. To no surprise, the knife broke into two, and the angry mother was about to eat him. Seeing this Harry thought that it was nothing more than he deserved, but he knew that if it happened the Krakken would be hunted down. So getting in between mother and a fool, Harry looked at the Lake Monster in the eyes and said, "Don't do this, I'll deal with him."

The Krakken looked between him and the one who dared to take her eggs for a few moments, be turning to her eggs and picking them up and swimming away. As the Krakken swum away, Harry turned to Jonah and sighed as he asked him with a smirk, "So what am I going to do about you?"

All Jonah could do was shrug, as Harry punched him a few feet away from him, knocking him out. Once Jonah was knocked, Harry took hold of him and swum up to the surface where he placed the older man on a broken plank of wood, and said with a smirk, "Hang out to dry here, the police will come soon to take you to dry land."

Once Harry did this, he looked round to see the damage that was made, and saw that the cannery was partly damaged. And saw that his Grandpa Max and Gwen was in their boat with Captain Shaw, sealing away from the cannery. Harry thought he would have a look round. As Harry got out of the water, the omnitrix timed out and Harry returned to his human form.

For about ten minutes, Harry looked round the cannery, and found a group of men knocked out and tried up, Harry realized that this was Gwen and their Grand's doing. This wasn't the only thing that he found, he saw many other tanks, cages and other containers all full of animals. Harry wondered if this was some kind of halfway point, where they dropped animals off here for a short while before sending them off wherever they were going to be sold off. Harry also found the place that they kept their items, plans and other staff. He also found a few thousand dollars on in an open safe, and Harry thought he would take a few hundred dollars. It wasn't like these lot were going to miss it with where they were going, and Harry could use it more for him and Gwen with the food they would need for this summer.

Just as Harry got the money and left the cannery, the police/rangers arrived to pick up Jonah and his crew. But as he got back to the rustbucket, after seeing Shaw off, he got some bad news that they would be at their Great Aunt Vera tomorrow for the the next few days. Both Harry, as he thought this would be boring seeing that their Great Aunt Vera was old and lived in a Retirement Home Area. Whilst Harry continues to complain about Grandpa's decision, saying that the visit does not relate to anything fun. Gwen, however, loves to be with Vera, but Harry just makes it worse by negatively commenting on her claim. However, after a while Harry realized that no amount of complaining would change the fact that they were going to Vera's for a few days, Harry went to bed as Grandpa Max and Gwen talked about seeing Vera once again

To Be Continued!

Author's Notes: Here ends the second and last part of two of The Krakken, I hope you like the story so far and the changes that I've done. I apologize for the long delay, planned to update this sooner, but my laptop stopped working - it wouldn't turn on - and so it has been in the shop. So I've been doing this and Mishap on my phone, and my dad's laptop when I can get on it.

Anyway, I hope you like the chapter, and if you would like to spend a few more minutes to review and let me know if you have any ideas for the next chapter, as the more ideas I get will help me write faster. On my Forum - link can be found on my profile on fanfiction - you see the latest of what is happening in my works.

As for Harry becoming an anti-hero, it wasn't going to happen right away, but over time, so I would like to hear ideas on how this could lead up to this - so thoughts on how he should act and look - clothes wise and maybe appearance too.
