D: Well well well! It's been like, forever?
K: Forever? It took you like an eternity to update this story if you didn't know!
D: Did I? I mean, it's really difficult to think of some ways to continue the story, especially if I'm having a hard time thinking of new words to improvise on this story.
Ic: He's got a point Kintaro… It's really tiring to think of ways to satisfy your readers, so…
It: I mean, there's a simple solution for that D-kun!
D: If it's food, then I don't need it, Itsuki!
It: Awww, darn it!
M: Anyway, who's going to read the reviews?
Y: Lemme do it! Lemme see…..
K: Oh yes Lance-san, of course I needed to break the 4th wall! Dang it, I wish my ending in the manga was like BokuBen, then I would've made the other quints happy!
D: Amongst the Quintuplets, which Quint do you want to be with anyway?
N: It's me, right Fuu-kun?
It: Oh well… time to eat again.
D: That's all you know what to do anyway.
It: Touché.
K: In all seriousness, I want them all, but if I had to choose… If the manga me have chosen me with Yotsuba, then in this story I want to be with Miku.
N: Tch.
Ic: Oh my?
M: Eh?!
D: Welp, you made her faint Kintaro. You know what to do.
K: Gotcha.
D: Anyway, let me do the disclaimer for now. IN NO WAY do I own The Quintessential Quintuplets. Rest assure that if I was, I'd probably let everyone be satisfied with the ending by letting Futaro be with all of them. They all deserve happiness not gonna lie. Now with that settled, sit back, and have fun reading Chapter 6 of the fanfic!
All of the quintuplets, excluding Futaro jaw-dropped from their places as they were shocked to see the dishes that was offered to them during the night. He had invited them to eat with him as thanks for delivering his package after they had received it. He was indifferent with the reaction of the quintuplets, causing him to raise an eyebrow before asking them if they weren't hungry at all.
"Are you guys not feeling well? Kintaro/Futaro inquired, as he noticed that they weren't touching the food, thinking that they might have thought it was poisoned or was going to make them sick.
"Oh, it's not that Kintaro-san." Ichika reassured him, while still eyeing at the food presented so elegantly at the food. "Are you sure that we can finish this today?" She asked with a hint of hesitation.
"I mean, I'd be glad if you guys would take out some as your breakfast for tomorrow." Kintaro finished as he urged the quintuplets to eat already.
"How do you know?" Nino asked after some silence.
"What do you mean?" Kintaro replied back, feigning ignorance that he did some research on their favorite foods and beverages.
"Don't act so stupid! I'm talking about the foods and drinks here! How do you know about what our favorites are?" She boomed outloud.
"Calm down Nino." Miku explained, whispering to her. "It might be a coincidence that he readied our favorite food, or it might be that Futaro knows what our favorite is, and might have told Kintaro about it."
"Well, that could explain it." Nino admitted defeat after exploding. "I'm sorry about that Uesugi." She bowed her head in shame for exploding someone who was just feeding them.
"Oh, it's no matter. I'm sorry if I creeped you out. This was just my way of saying thanks." He sweetly replied, his tone accompanying his expression with a smile. Safe to say, every quintuplet that saw the smile had a blush on their cheeks, apparently shy from what he blurted out to them.
"Well, since we're already here, let's dig in!" Itsuki gleefully said, as she didn't waste any time to talk more and dived right in into the foods that was offered to them. The table consisted of their favorite foods.
Kintaro on the other hand chuckled at the youngest Nakano Quintuplet's desire to feed on the food, knowing her large appetite, whether it be hotdogs or burgers. "Go help yourselves! There are other more foods if you want to have some more!" Kintaro said, as he took some ramen from that he personally prepared.
They wasted no time as they scoop out the food. The foods and beverages were presented in an elegant and orderly fashion, as if to say that he actually planned to cook their favorite dishes. Suffice to say, he did.
"Oh my?" Ichika blurted as she tasted the food that she scooped earlier. If one doesn't like this kind of dish, it would really look appalling and terrifyingly disgusting, but to her? It's one of her favorite food. It consisted of small meats that was accompanied with viscous brown liquid, much akin to a gloopy ketchup.
'When did Kintaro-kun learn how to create this?' She thought as she continued to eat in a respectful manner, being the eldest quint and all.
"How was it Ichika-san?" Kintaro asked, hoping to get a review from his dish. It took him some time to learn how to cook ever since he "disappeared", which was not too long ago.
"It's actually delicious Kintaro-kun!" Ichika beamed, evidently satisfied with his cooking, much to his pleasure. She never tasted anything like what he prepared before, and to say that this was delicious was practically an understatement. 'It's really delicious!' She thought as she took another bite into his dish. It was like as if the World Renowned Chef blessed his cooking and made it all too scrumptious to finish.
"My turn!" Nino wasted no time as she dived into her favorite dish, which was pancakes that looked heart-shaped. She took three flaps of said pancakes and placed it on her empty plate. However, she noticed that something was missing that could make the pancake's taste much better.
"Uesugi, do you have any syrup?" She asked.
"Hm?" He glanced at her plate. Indeed, it was missing the iconic butter and maple syrup that could intensify the pancake's dish. "Oh, let me just get it." He offered, but Nino denied, saying that it would be embarrassing to ask the host to get it when she has her own hands and feet to use.
"It's fine! Just tell me where it's placed." Nino reassured. She didn't want to feel anymore shame than because of the event that transpired not too a while ago.
"Trust me, I have a plan so you can enjoy the pancakes." He sweetly smiled at her, causing the long scarlet-haired Nakano to blush, much to the amusement of everyone excluding the host.
'Oh my?' Ichika glanced at her quint. She was surprised to see her being meek. 'I guess Kintaro-kun is starting to have an impact on her personality.' She silently said as she continued to drown in euphoria as she eats her favorite food with no delay.
Kintaro stood up and went to the kitchen to get what Nino wanted, leaving all the quintuplets to look at the fleeing silhouette that was shrinking and shrinking until it became a silhouette no more. After the coast was clear, they started to gossip about it.
"Wow, he's really different from Uesugi-san." Yotsuba said after swallowing some bits of chicken glazed in her favorite fruit, mandarins. The taste of the mandarin glazed chicken was showing at the carrot-haired quints face: Utter Satisfaction. Her face depicted something how Itsuki were to eat her favorite foods, especially her favorite meat.
"Kind of reminds me Futaro, but much better." Miku added. Of course, being the Matcha girl out of all the quintuplet, she dived into the sweet cake flavored Matcha that she was addicted to.
"I know right? I can't help but fall in love with him! It's like the upgraded version of Uesugi!" Nino heartily giggled, probably feeling butterflies in her stomach at how he can be the perfect husband to wed. Wait, what? Where did that come from? It's kind of hard to believe at a perfect guy like him and falling for him like it was love at first sight.
"I wonder if he already has a significant other." Miku said, dropping her fork on the table and looking at her quints. By the looks of it, the quints gave her a quizzing stare that bore down on her as if she was doing a red-seat session.
"It's plausible, especially how he looks so cool with his yellow hair and golden eyes." Nino said, starting to daydream the things she could do with the "almost" perfect replica of Futaro, never knowing that they were just the same persona all along.
"Falling for someone who resembles Futaro, eh Nino?" Ichika teased. She decided that this was a perfect opportunity to joke around and rile up the 2nd oldest quintuplet.
"E-eh? Don't make things up. As if I'd fall for someone like him!" Nino said with a hint of exasperation in her face. She wonders where Ichika learnt to tease like that. It's as if she knows how to press the button of every people she knows. Or in this case rather, every quint.
"Sheesh Nino, you already have Uesugi-san in your heart. Don't tell me you're going to aim for Uesugi-san?" Yotsuba said, after she swallowed the piece of chicken.
"Me? I'd rather stay loyal to the one that I originally set my eyes and heart on!" Nino exclaimed, clearly referring to the ex-tutor.
"So, you don't mind if one of us swoop him?" Ichika asked, further teasing the scarlet quintuplet that was "still" waiting for the said "condiments" that was taking so long, but she didn't mind. It was already rude for exploding on him a while ago, but she has to calm herself down so his first impression of them, or rather… "Her" doesn't go into the negative side of things.
"I mean, I already have Uesugi to myself, why would I?" Nino shrugged. She was confident, TOO confident to her sister's point of view, which they admired and wished that they had the same confidence as her. Ichika has her confidence as well, but not too much as opposed to Nino.
Miku gave Nino a bit of a glare, much to her sister's unawareness, that she isn't the only one who has his heart and love. She quickly hid the glare and went back to eating. 'Goodluck Nino, you're gonna need it.' Her face wasn't betraying any emotions. Outside, she was rooting for her Quint to have a good future with him, and she'll be supporting them along the way. Inside though, she was wishing that she'll be the one to be able to get his heart and love.
To their obliviousness, someone was eavesdropping due to their boldness and loud voices. He wasn't able to contain the fluttering feeling in his heart because of what, or who they were talking about.
'They all have feelings for me? No, this can't be happening. It isn't true. Or is it? Nino seems a bit too adamant on my feelings for her.' He felt his heart skip a beat after the audacious sincerity the quint showed.
'No! I might as well ask her about it, but how should I do it?' He scratched his head, hanging it in defeat.
"Tch, I need to focus on getting what I needed here in the first place." He silently clicked his tongue, and shook his head. He needs to get his head out of the gutter, and get what the 2nd quintuplet wanted in the first place: A Syrup.
He went on to the pantry to find some of his condiments. Some was homemade, and some was store-bought.
'This should be enough. I don't think Nino was much of an eater compared to Itsuki.' He silently thought. He placed all of the condiments, which included Maple Syrup, Butter, and other flavors of syrups, including Strawberry, Blueberry, Caramel, Matcha, and many more.
'Oh shoot, this is too many!' He realized after he wasn't able to get majority of the condiments that was hiding in his pantries. Yes, he has much more flavors, but he went on to decide which flavor they wanted. He determined the flavor judging by what food they wanted. He went to retrieve, just in case they wanted to take some pancakes as well and try the other flavors.
'I think I'm all set!' He thought, as he went to place some condiments on the tray and went back to the table.
"I'm back!" Kintaro blurted out, which surprised the quintuplets since they were still talking about him and his resemblance to their tutor.
"W-welcome back Kintaro-san." Ichika stuttered, clearly shock from his sudden appearance.
"Sorry it took so long!" He sheepishly said, as he placed the tray in front of Nino.
What she saw was overkill.
"W-what? I thought I said I only needed syrup. I never t-thought it would be t-this much!" Nino said, staring at the vast varieties of syrup that was placed in front of her.
Kintaro smirked and said "Well, I would think that you would only want to have some good old fashion maple syrup, but I decided to take it up a notch and offer you some other condiments that you want to try too."
"Hm?" Miku was minding her own business, until she saw a word that was written on the bottle. "What's that Kintaro?" She pointed to a weird looking bottle. It looked like a gloopy green substance, which intrigued the Headphone quintuplet.
"Oh that? It's Matcha. It's one of my favorite syrups!" He proudly said. He took pride in his cooking, which he never did before. He remembered the time that Miku baked some croquettes, and Yotsuba and he were baffled from its appearance. It tasted good to him, when he didn't have any experience of cooking.
'I might have to teach Miku about baking when this shenanigans are done.' He silently sighed, cringing at the thought of eating another burnt croquette that looked like charcoal at a single glance.
"Can I try?" Miku said, eager to taste the matcha syrup. Being a matcha girl, she doesn't get enough of matcha things.
Kintaro saw the glistening eyes Miku was emitting. He wasn't going to decline anything that Miku had asked of him. For him, it was too cute to deny.
"But of course, help yourself!" Kintaro said, to Miku's delight.
"Can we try as well Uesugi-kun?" Itsuki said, looking at the neat arrangement of the condiments that was well presented into the table.
"I don't have any meat-flavored syrups though." He joked, with a subtle smile. Who knew he can still joke around this moment?
"Oh, it's fine! I'll just take this syrup then." Itsuki proceeded to take the caramel syrup. She urged the other two quintuplet, namely Yotsuba and Ichika to get their flavored syrup.
"Looks like we're going to run out of Pancakes. Let me get some more!" Kintaro said, dashing back to the kitchen and coming back with a plate full of pancakes. The simple, or overkill dinner became a pancake party, much to his amusement. "Let's enjoy the pancake, with her hand raised gripping a bottle of Mandarin syrup.
They enjoyed the pancake party that was so sudden. They acted as if they were already friends from the start, or rather, soon to be husband and "wives".
After some time, they were all finished eating, and didn't want to disturb anymore.
Kintaro took all the finished plates and dishes that were already empty ever since they had a certain red-haired quint who finished all of it due to the taste of the food being divine and such.
'I think it's time to talk about their tutor and if they wanted to get tutored again.' He said, remembering what the letter had told him to do.
"Hey guys!" He exclaimed, which all of the quints looked at him with curiosity. After getting their attention, he asked about how their studies were going. "How are you guys coming up with your studies?"
"Ehehehe, about that…" Yotsuba started. She was twirling her hair while looking at the floor.
"When Uesugi disappeared, we were doing fine until the exam appeared. As soon as we got our results…" Nino said with a hint of pride.
"We kinda passed?" Ichika continued.
"What do you mean we "kinda" passed? We all worked our heads off until we weren't able to take it anymore!" Itsuki blurted out, with a pout in her face that screams for "hiring tutor".
"Basically… We failed some of the subjects, and passed some of them." Miku finished, with a deadpan expression.
'Great! They're still idiots!' Kintaro wanted to smash his head into the walls since his tutoring doesn't have much effect on the quintuplets.
"But now, we're currently looking for a new tutor since our dad told us to find one." Ichika said, as she was preparing her things before going home. It was already 10PM outside, and they were tired not because of the host, but because they were sleepy and already full from what they ate.
'Now's my chance!' Kintaro said, getting the opportunity to be able to offer his tutoring once again.
"How would you guys like to learn with me? As far as I'm concerned, my cousin and I have high scores, except mine was a bit higher than him." He offered
"Oh, we don't want to bother you anymore Uesugi." Nino retorted.
"But I insist! I always want to tutor five beautiful quints who fell in love with my cousin after all!" He sweetly suggested, making them blush with their faces the same color as a tomato. They blushed, either because of them being called "beautiful" or it was evident that they all had feelings for the missing black haired tutor that was standing in front of them, but they just don't know it. All of them tried to deny though, to no avail.
"W-we aren't!" Ichika said.
"W-well, maybe I am!" Nino said, trying to suggest that what he said wasn't any lie, at least when it comes to her.
"…" Miku, being the shy introverted said nothing, just a reddish blush on her face.
"Ehehehe…" Yotsuba meekly laughed, not knowing how to react.
"S-stop with that nonsense Uesugi-kun!" Itsuki tried her best to deny the accusation, but Kintaro knew that his statement hit the spot, right in the bulleye.
"Hahaha, whatever you say." He softly replied, much to the quintuplets faces full of blush redder than before.
"Anyway, I'll call dad if he's alright with it." Ichika said. She retrieved her phone from her bag and called a specific person, named "dad" in her contacts. After some time, the call ended and she faced to confront her sisters and him as well.
"Well, our dad says that he'll be glad to accept you, ONLY IF," She started, goving the gold-haired boy an ultimatum.
'Another ultimatum? Such a classic move Nakano-san.' He smiled at his thoughts. He reminisced the time that he had to make them pass or else the tutor will be cut off, and his debts will remain unpaid.
Ichika continued "if you show him how well you can handle us all and if the grades were satisfactory. If it was, then he'll have no problems of you being and continuing our tutor." She finished her sentence with a bit of rush.
"Seems alright to me!" He said, pounding his chest with pride. He's confident of his grades, ever since it raised drastically. "So, when do you guys want to start?"
"Probably this coming week?" Itsuki suggested, implying that they had to get ready for him.
"Sounds good!" He nodded with understanding.
"Anyway, it's time that we go back Uesugi-san. It's getting late after all!" Yotsuba said, with a bit of disappointment. She still wanted to hang out in his condominium that was well ventilated and full of food, as if it was already a paradise for her.
He noticed the expression of the ribbon-quintuplet and placed his hand on her shoulders. "Don't worry, you guys are free to visit here. Just contact me, and I'll be welcoming you." He said with a smile.
'There it is again, the warm feeling in my heart…' Yotsuba said, as she fiddled her fingers from the alienating feeling. She never felt like this before except when it comes to Futaro.
"We'll gladly come back here if you're going to allow us." Miku said, with her iconic glistening eyes.
"Of course, come back again!" He said, getting the door for them.
"Thanks again Kintaro-san!" Ichika said, waving at the host. It was a relief that they were done with it. She was sleepy because of the food that she ate. It made her full. 'I guess I'm not eating tomorrow.' She said as she patted her stomach, full of food. If someone saw her, they might misunderstand that she was pregnant when in reality she was just full.
In the elevator, a quint noticed something was missing from her bag.
"Oh shoot, I forgot something in Kintaro-kun's place! You guys go ahead!" A quintuplet exclaimed, while the elevator was going down to the lobby.
"Sure sure! Just take care, alright?"
"Yup!"
When the elevator had arrived at the lobby, all but one quintuplet remained and pressed the button to close and the location was where the event happened not too long ago.
'Looks like I manage to convince them. I'm sorry but I want to get a headstart on him.' She silently said, as if the puzzle was already fixed in her brain, much to her sister's obliviousness.
At the room, Kintaro was finished cleaning the dishes until he heard a doorbell.
'Hm? Is this one of those letters again?' He wondered. Who was knocking in the door at this time of night?
'I thought they were already gone? Did someone leave something in the room?' "Welp, might as well!" He said and went to open the door to see a quintuplet standing on the door.
"Did you for-" before he can even finish his sentence, the mysterious quint went inside, and pushed him. Before he can even retort, she managed to lock the door with a blur and straddled against his stomach.
"How are you doing Kintaro? Or should I say, Fu~ta~ro?
"What?"
D: Holy Macaroni, I finally finished this chapter. It took me so long to do this, since internet was acting badly before.
K: True, and I don't even know what to say here in this anymore.
Quints: Ditto.
D: Oh yeah, before this chapter ends, let me give you guys the challenges that Kintaro had and will be facing in the few chapters.
Ic: He had to drop out of school and disappear on us.
N: He had to legally change his identity back to Kintaro.
M: He had to convince us to let him tutor us in replacement to "Futaro"
D: Which I'd say was fairly easy for a guy like him. Heh.
K: Shut it, no one wants to hear you.
D: I'm not even talking here! Anyway…
Y: The next challenge, will take up one to five chapters, depending on what the writer or reader wants. It's either we will have a separate chapter, containing our dates with him. or just make it a 15k to 20k word with just one chapter, each scene will be 3k to 5k each.
It: The last one is…. Wait, what's the last one?
D: Something that would either help your relationship flourish or deteriorate. Either way, the three challenges are done. With that being said, I'm thinking of doing a Date a Live Fanfic, where S-
K: Ok, that's it for today folks! Thanks for reading!
D: How rude!
PS: I might or might not ask someone to co-author with me for the next fanfic that I'm about to write. The anime's Date A Live, but Shido has to date sixteen spirits including the in-game spirits. So, yeah! I hope you guys had a fun time reading, and let me suffer more that I want to finish this already.
