Chapter 6: Insecurity

She was awoken to screams coming from the other room.

Miku got up immediately after she heard the screams. Struggling through her covers and alerted body movements made her strained until she opened her bedroom door. She found Crypton Security handcuffing Neru while she was kneeling on the living room floor.

Miku gasped with shock, as she saw them carry her away without a word or a movement of anyone else from the other rooms. They witnessed the same, completely stunned as well.

Her heart was racing. She was knocked down to her bedroom frame with the stress of her weak body. Why? Miku asked herself. How?

Security kept asking her how she managed to get in. They scolded her and threatened to send her away to jail but she wouldn't answer.

There were a lot of things on her mind that she couldn't grasp. Everything was getting worse, everything she had done to stay out of their way, trying to move out of there, but failed. Even starting to respect everyone more, all for what?

The security kept asking her, becoming impatient with her. They were even more angry at the fact that she was there when Miku collapsed. They were suspecting it was her all along, she kept coming back to do Miku harm, or even try to sabotage their studio. They had rumors of someone entering through the facility without their notice.

Executives of the industry had entered and decided to put Neru at the center of their discussion. They wonder if she was the cause of Miku's disappearance. All of the staff of Crypton, including the singers, are not allowed to have outside influences. They have been exposed as they searched the Complex, and have found various products, personal belongings, and money within the premises. They had convincing evidence that they belonged to her and got everyone involved with her and her knowledge of the outside. Plaguing them with curiosity, questioning their work environment, and illness with her filth.

They had all agreed to send Neru into a penitentiary until they conduct a full investigation on Neru.

As Neru began to regret all the damage done to them.

MEIKO had gotten word from their manager, and she was led off having to do reports and meetings on the singers. It seems they've concluded that Neru was the cause of the confusion and for the events that occured, MEIKO thought.

It worried her. What do they plan to do with her? She thought to herself. How was she caught? She was always so careful.

As MEIKO kept to her mind of her thoughts, she spotted Luka from the end of the hallway. She wanted MEIKO to see her and her nasty grin. She looked back with anger.

"You did this, didn't you?" MEIKO asked.

Luka walked in slowly, having been pleased to see her suffer.

"I did what I had to do." Luka spoke with a smile. "Because of Neru, we were suffering. Now, we are good."

MEIKO got up to her face and wanted to use force against her but held back.

"You know I'm right. She was the cause of everything." Luka continued. "Now that she's out of here, they will stop harassing you, we will get back to our normal lives, and there will be no blame put on all of us for the events that happened."

MEIKO cried.

"Neru..." MEIKO sobbed.

"She will be fine, it's not what she wanted, but she won't have to struggle with us anymore."

"Shut up!" MEIKO yelled, as she bolted down the hallway.

Luka chuckled.

"Luka?" A voice was heard from behind her.

Luka turned around to find Miku, she had tears in her eyes.

"You took Neru away?" Miku asked.

"Yes. I did." Luka answered.

Miku got angry with her and kept asking why she did it as she was slamming her fists in her chest.

Luka held her up, placing her hands on her shoulders.

"Look at me Miku!" As Miku looked up at her violet eyes. "She was in trouble. She caused all of this."

"No! She didn't. It was something else!" Miku yelled.

"Neru put it into your mind of what was bothering you!" Luka argued, as she held Miku's head. "She made you think you were going crazy!" Luka kept going on with her reasoning, as Miku was trying to not hear it. She would cover up her ears, but Luka kept them from her head. "The things she was feeding you, telling you things you didn't need to hear. It was all her!"

"Luka, stop!" Kagamine said, as they entered the living room.

Kaito stopped in to see.

MEIKO could hear Luka telling them it was Neru's fault they were failing.

"Neru manipulated our lives, and it messed us up. We were all fine and happy before she showed up. She gave us things we shouldn't have, and told us about the world, but we didn't need to know because we are already taken care of here."

In a way, she was right.

Neru sat inside a locked room, it was quiet and cold unlike her room which she felt she took for granted. Everything from her behavior, from her actions, she was starting to think she was the actual threat to the singers.

Maybe they were allergic to the outside food. Neru thought. Not to mention Haku, because that name haunted Miku and caused her to get sick and it drove her to insanity. Even MEIKO was forced to meet with her superiors over every issue that happened.

Neru was starting to believe in their words and was starting to feel like this was her punishment for everything. Even though Miku could have died without her being there to see her. MEIKO would have never gotten the help she needed to take care of them. Even though it caused them so much damage, it did help them overcome some things that were hidden for so long. Even then, it did open their eyes to the industry. What they were capable of doing.

None of it mattered now, since she's out of there and they could easily get back to their normal lives without her.

Just as she was beginning to accept her fate, she was visited by a familiar face.

"H-Haku?" Neru said softly.

"Neru." Haku said.

"Haku, what are you doing here?" Neru asked.

"You saved me, so I must return the favor." Haku said softly.
