Chapter 2

It was cold and his head was spinning. He just kept getting colder and colder and feeling a strange burning sensation in different parts of his body. He couldn't bear to move it hurt too badly. In the distance he could hear sirens. He could also hear someone screaming his name. "Tamaki, Tamaki wake up." His frantic coworker was screaming his name and shaking his shoulder but he'd lost too much blood to be able to respond to her frantic attempts to wake him. The paramedics and the police burst into the store at the same time an officer gently pulling her away as the paramedics began their work. The police gently pulled his coworker Caitlin aside for an interview as the paramedics loaded Tamaki onto a gurney. "We need to get him into the ambulance to start a blood transfusion." They wheeled him out as he let out a small moan from the pain but still not conscious. That's when Caitlin saw his abandoned cellphone. He must have dropped it. Perhaps there was someone in his contacts she could reach to let them know what happened. She picked up the phone and put it in her pocket as the police escorted her to the back room.

The police let her out of the back room an hour later and told her to go home. That's when she took the phone out of her pocket. She looked at seeing that everything in it was in Japanese. At least the pictures were the same. She clicked on the little green phone scrolling and picking a name at random hoping for the best. "What do you want Tamaki I was sleeping." A disgruntled sounding teenager answered the phone. Caitlin was suddenly a lot more nervous since the person who answered sounded so angry. "Umm hello, my name is Caitlin Mooreand I work with Tamki at Smarty Pants Pets. There there was an accident. And Tamaki Tamaki." She burst into tears finally from the shock and the emotional severity of the situation. Kyoa suddenly sat up and put his phone on speaker. He took a few deep breathes before turning on his host club charm to help smooth over the situation and figure out what happened. Teenage girls were hard enough to understand. Ones that were crying uncontrollably were even harder. "Caitling correct? My name is Kyoa Ootari, I'm Tamakis roommate. Would you mind telling me a little bit more about the nature of the accident?" The idiot probably fell on a wet floor and cracked his head open or something. Kyoa thought to himself. "There there was a robbery and Tamaki was shot three times, they they took him away in an ambulance. He he lost a lot of blood and he wasn't answering me when I tried to wake him up." She was still crying and sounded shaken. Kyoa was shocked to. He would have to call Haruhi after this. The fact that he had even gotten called was a lucky break. "Do you know what hospital they took him to Caitlin?" Caitlin thought for a moment. "Probably , it's the closet." "Thank you Caitlin. Try to get some rest I'll get in touch with Tamakis family for you." WIth that he ended the call.

The next thing he did was call for his private car driver and all. He didn't care how late it was, he'd have to get to the hospital somehow and he should bring Haruhi. Her and Tamki were a thing after all. For a moment he debated on calling the twins as well but thought better of it. They lived on the other side of town and it'd be to much of a hassle to bring everyone. He'd letthem know in the morning once it was confirmed that Tamaki was okay. He dialed the familiar number hoping that Haruhi would actually pick up his call. She did answer on the last ring. "Hello?" She sounded a bit confused to be hearing from Kyoa. "Haruhi, I need you to get ready, there's been an accident and Tamaki is in the hospital. I'm coming to get you." Kyoa was running out of the penthouse apartment he shared with Tamaki at the Souh Grand Hotel.

Haruhi dropped her cellphone from shock and picked it up shaking slightly. "What happed? Is he okay?" Kyoa sighed as he climbed into the back of his private limo with the Ootari group logo plastered on the side. "I don't know, I only know that the store where he works was robbed and he was shot several times. That's all his coworker was able to tell me." He told the driver the address for Haruhis host family and told him it was urgent and the sped off. "I should be there in less then ten minutes, I believe he's at St. Josephs." He hung up and sighed.

Haruhi was scrambling around the room to get ready. Tamaki was in the hospital. He'd been shot, and it was her fault. It was all her fault for calling him an immature baby. That's what had gotten the idea to get a job in his head in the first place, and now he'd gotten shot on the job. She was going through an array of upsetting emotions as she changed out of her pajamas into her street clothes. Fear, sadness and guilt were raging through Haruhi Fujioka like a storm.

The last thing she did before Kyoa arrived was open her desk drawer and pulled out a purple hair clip shaped like a was a rather large and silly looking clip and obviously had been made for little girls not a teenager, but she put it in her hair anyway for Tamaki. It was one of many hair clips Tamaki had tried to give her, but this one, silly as it was, it was the only one she accepted and kept. This one as silly as it was was special. Tamaki had bought it for her with his first paycheck with money he had earned himself. That meant something to Haruhi and silly as it looked she would wear it proudly for him. Although right now she felt like she would do anything for him. She heard Kyoa pull up just as she finished putting the clip in. She grabbed her small yellow backpack and slipped on her tennis shoes and started to run downstairs only to be stopped by Claire.

"And where do you think you are going, Haruhi? It's past your curfew." Claire stood at the bottom of the stairs, arms crossed. Haruhi took a deep breath. This was an unexpected hurtle but she could handle it. "It's Tamaki, he was he he's in the hospital. Claire please." She stumbled over the words still comprehending the news herself, tears welling up in her eyes. Saying it outloud made it so much more real. Claire looked, seeing the tears softening a bit. "Please let me go to the hospital, he doesn't have family here, just me and his friends. We're all he has." More tears fell as Mary sauntered down the stairs. She'd been at her door listening. "You should let her go mom. I'll go with her, after all I'm Tamakis friend to afterall, and like Haruhi just said Friends are all he has." Mary gave a fake smile as Claire clapped her hands. "Yes Mary that's what I want to see, you showing kindness to our foriegn guests. Go on both of you, but don't stay to late you both have school in the morning." .

Mary smirked as Haruhi wiped her eyes heading outside towards Kyoas car. At least she was going and Kyoa would be there as well so hopefully he could somehow distract Mary. Haruhi walked out not waiting for Mary as she climbed into the back of the limo sitting next to Kyoa. He actually looked worried himself and didn't look as cool and suave as he normally did. Although he did look calm and just seeing one of her friends faces had a calming influence. That's when Mary threw herself into the back of the limo sitting as close to Kyoa as was physically possible. He wasn't as cute or charming as Kyoa but he was still just as if not more rich then Tamaki. It wouldn't hurt to have them both in her back pocket. "Hi Kyoa so nice to finally see you again." Mary laid it on thick as they drove to the hospital. Kyoa was polite yet cool as Mary tried to flirt with him. Haruhi tried not to gag.

They pulled into the hospital parking lot and the driver pulled into a visitors spot and came and opened Haruhis door. Haruhi climbed out and Marry tried to follow but Kyoa grabbed her arm. "Let's let the two of them have a few minutes alone first. We can go up in a little bit." Kyoa did not let go of Mary's wrist until Haruhi was inside the hospital.

"Why the hell should we give them alone time. It's not like they can do anything. Plus look at me! Tamaki and I are a much better match then plain jane Haruhi. I'm beautiful and popular and my family is well off. Him and I are a perfect match. Just wait and see he'll bedating me before you know it and Haruhi will just be a thing of the past." Mary fluffed her hair casually expecting Kyoa to agree with her. But instead Kyoa Ootari began to laugh. "If you think that then you don't know Tamaki."
