Buckle up everyone! We're going into the dark part of the story.

I know that in the original storyline, Kat was a villain, but, that's not what will happen here. I want to remind everyone that this is AU. If I had left things as they were, it would not have meshed well with what happens next. Also, I think Catherine Sutherland is an awesome person and the thought of bashing her character in anyway just won't fly with me.

Rest assured that there is a villain or should i say villains, but they are of a different kind. As I said before, things are about to get rough, so strap in!

TRIGGER warning! These next two chapters deal with some emotional stuff and there is some course language, so please proceed with caution!

I guess that's it for now. Read on!

The Manor

Nighttime

All the kids were asleep, and it was just the adults on the back porch. The portable firepit was going and they all sat around it, looking into the fire.

"You know, I could easily have a permanent firepit built in." Conner said. "I've been looking for a way to contribute to this place."

"It's not a bad idea," Tommy said, "I'd be all for it."

"So, was there a reason for this little adult only thing?" Ethan asked.

Tommy nodded. "Yeah. We're continuing the story about Kim and I." He paused to look at Kat and Billy who were wrapped up in a blanket. "It's closely tied to Kat and Billy as well and this is the most comforting atmosphere for what comes next."

"Um, you guys don't have to tell this part, not if it's painful." Kira said frowning.

Tommy gave her a smile and shook his head. "It's ok, Kira. The four of us have talked about it, and we decided that it's best to just approach and confront it head on. It's difficult, but it's a part of who we are, and it's tied to the story of how we got the manor."

Trent whom had arrived a few minutes earlier, sat on the other side of Kira. He popped open a cold soda and took a sip.

"We're all ears, Dr. O." Ethan said as he held Melanie's hand.

Tommy looked at Billy. "You want to start?"

The blonde took a deep breath and looked at all of them. "We'd only had our ninjetti powers for a month before my mate walked into my life."

"Before I continue, I want to say that I love Kat with everything I am and the day she walked into my life, was the happiest one in my life."

After a pause he started again. "During those years, Ernie's juice bar and youth center was the place to be. Everyone showed up there to meet with friends and it seemed like we were always there. Naturally, it was the perfect place for this chapter of my life to begin. We were working on my most hated subject…US Government."

"I don't think that anyone enjoyed that class to be honest. Our teacher was monotone and he made us watch all kinds of speeches and they were boring as watching paint dry." Kimberly added.

"But the biggest reason for me hating that class came from the time that Kim ran against Veronica She-bitch."

"That's a harsh nickname." Kira commented.

"Maybe," Billy answered, "But it was well earned." He looked at Kim and nodded at her to continue.

Kim took a deep breath. "The only reason I even attempted to run for student government was to earn extra credit in Government class. I put everything I had into winning, but the she-bitch went too far. She went digging for dirt and found it; she spied on us making out. We both had our clothes on, but I was straddling Tommy's lap in the back of the Stingray. We weren't even on school property, but she found us and took a few snapshots.

She circulated the picture and my reputation as a whore fired up overnight. I came to school ready to give my speech and it was over before I knew it. By the end of the day, I was disqualified."

"For the pictures?"

Kimberly smirked. "No, for getting into a fight with Veronica. It wasn't my proudest moment but back then, reputation was very important to me, and it was the most un-rangerly thing I've everdone... though it was pretty satisfying. Tommy got me out of there as soon as he could and we spent the day burning off steam at the cabin.

Everyday from then on, I had to go through every day being called a whore and every derogatory name in the book. Mrs. Appleby was the only teacher that stood in my corner, but things got even more embarrassing when the school counselor called us into the office to talk about safe sex and abstinence."

"Damn, that was rough." Kira commented. "Now I understand what you were talking about that morning you came to my house."

Kimberly nodded. "That run in with Veronica wasn't the only one we'd have before we graduated from High School. She's unfortunately a part of the story as well…as much as I'd love to have really destroy her, Tommy convinced me to let it go. That whole debacle was just one of the reasons that we moved away from Angel Grove as soon as we graduated."

"And the other reason?" Melanie asked softly.

"You're about to find out." Kimberly replied as she leaned into Tommy's arms.

Billy gave his friend as small smile. "Sadly, Kim is right. Those tramps were always causing trouble and all the teachers except for Mrs. Appleby turned a blind eye. It was that same old rule that let those bitches get away with murder."

"If they didn't see it, it didn't happen." Ethan said softly.

"Yep, that's the one." Billy answered. "Anyway, on that day in the youth center, we were studying and having our smoothies when the bitch squad walked in...Kat was with them. Like I said, she was simply the innocent newcomer trying to find her way in a new place."

"Yeah, I was the brand new transfer student and they had actually been assigned to show me around the school." Kat added with a frown. "I'm usually pretty perceptive and there was something not right behind those fake smiles."

-Flashback-

"The bitch squad's here. Looks like they've got another recruit."

It was bad enough that those two girls from before were with them, but now there was another girl that could pass for a barbie with them.

Kimberly looked back at Billy and saw that he'd gone very still.

"Earth to Wolf-Boy." She said a little louder.

Tommy also noticed. He looked at Billy and then followed his gaze. He was looking at a very beautiful blonde girl. He frowned seeing who she was hanging out with.

"Billy, what are you doing. Those girls are bad news." Rocky added.

"It's her." He whispered softly.

"You've got to be kidding. The barbie?" Rocky clarified.

Billy growled softly at his packmate that had dared insult his mate.

"There's your answer." Aisha said softly.

"Billy are you sure?" Kimberly asked him. "I won't stop you, but I need to keep you safe."

At her words, Billy blew out a breath. "She's not one of them, look at her body language."

Kimberly did so, and she noted that while the other bitches were listening avidly to what Veronica was saying, the barbie girl was not. She listened, but she looked skeptical. She was sitting with them, but she was not leaning into the conversation like the other girls were.

She looked back at Billy. "Ok, I'm going to check things out. "Sha, you coming?"

"You bet." Aisha said as she got up and shadowed her friend.

When they got up to the juice bar, the whispers started. Ernie was nowhere in sight, but Sabrina was there, and she stepped up to the bar to take Kimberly's order. She was a wisp of a girl with black hair styled with a pixe cut and green eyes. She was usually friendly and had a sunny disposition, but as Kim and Aisha approached, she gave them a warning look.

"OMG, there's the whore of Angel Grove High." Veronica whispered.

"Ugh, she even smells like one. What the hell is that perfume she's wearing?" The second girl, whose named was Pauline asked. She tossed her glossy brown hair to the side and looked at them with contempt.

"I think it's called Ode De'Tramp. You get it at Skanks R Us." Veronica answered with a sneer.

Kimberly paused and looked up at them. Aisha smirked at her friend; she didn't say anything but she stood a little behind Kimberly as her silent backup.

"Oh god, it's coming over." Added the third girl. Her name was Andi and she had black, very curly hair.

They all wore expensive clothing and spent their free time at the mall primping. They were practically a walking advertisement for Privileged Snobs of America.

Kimberly walked up to them and leaned on the other side of the counter. "You keep using that word…'whore'. I don't think it means what you think it does." She paused and looked up at them. "You see, a whore is a woman of ill repute that sleeps with numerous partners for free, whether for the purpose of winning the school election or because she just can't settle on who's cock she enjoys the most."

The barbie's eyebrow rose at the use of the C word.

"Me, on the other hand. I've only had sex with one man, and that man is the one I'm engaged to." She paused and looked at Veronica. "You see, Bitches, I'm marrying him." Saying this, she held up her hand so that the girls could see her engagement ring.

Then she looked at the blonde girl. "You're new here, right?"

The girl nodded. "I'm Kat Hillard. I just moved her from Australia."

Kimberly nodded. "Hi, Kat, I'm Kimberly Hart. Welcome to Angel Grove. May I offer you some friendly advice?"

When Kat nodded. Kimberly continued. "These girls are bad news and you seem like a very sweet girl. If I were in your shoes, I'd vacate this group before they start poisoning you." With a satisfied smirk, Kimberly turned her back, flicked her hair over her shoulder and walked away.

When she got back to their table, she looked at Billy. "Her name is Kat Hillard, she's a transfer student from Australia and she seems really sweet."

Billy nodded and focused back on his smoothie.

Tommy gathered kim into his arms. "I could feel the mischief through our bond. What exactly did you say?"

Aisha couldn't hold her laughter in any longer. "She was fabulous. Let me tell you all about it."

When she'd finished Tommy grinned at Kimberly. "I love you, Kimberly Hart."

-End Flashback-

"So wait, you really said that to those Plastics?" Kira clarified. "That's so badass!"

Kimberly nodded. "Yeah, by that time, my reputation was beyond repair. When you get to that point, you find that you just don't care about what people think of you anymore. I hadn't been the goody two shoes for a while and by the time of the clash with the plastics, I found that what people said about me, just didn't matter me anymore."

"I was secure in my identity and when that happens, the words of those losers just don't hit their mark anymore. The real reason I'd gone up there was to find out who Kat was for the sake of my friend. Getting to take those bimbos down was a bonus."

"So, what happened next?" Kira asked.

"Well, it didn't take long for me to see that Kimberly was absolutely right to warn me." Kat said with a smile. "I felt no loyalty to that group whatsoever. The next day, I approached Kimberly to thank her and before I knew it, we'd begun a beautiful friendship. As for Billy, it took a while for our relationship to get started. We'd been friendly with each other but he'd been slow to make a move…to slow for my liking."

"Hey, I've never been comfortable around other women save for Kimberly and those on my team." Billy defended himself. "And you were a gorgeous amazon to my eyes."

"But you did make a move, obviously." Ethan prompted.

Billy nodded. "Yeah, I did."

-Flashback-

Billy walked through the double doors of the School. He was determined to make a move that day. The spring dance was only a couple weeks away…and he wanted to ask her to be his date.

Up ahead, he saw her at her locker with Hank, the captain of the wrestling team lurking over her shoulder. He was average height and had had a buzz cut. He had a square jaw and well defined muscles; to most girls he was the stereotypical hunk.

Billy stopped short, unsure of what to think.

He watched as Kat laughed at something he'd said, and then shook her head. Closing her locker door, she tried to walk away, but Hank grabbed her arm.

"Hey, let go of me!" She exclaimed.

"Not until you agree to go with me. What, are you going to choose that Loser, Cranston?"

"Let go of me, that hurts!"

Rocky had just gotten there to see things go down. He watched as Billy dropped his backpack and strode to Katherine's side.

"Hey, I heard my name." When Hank looked at him. Billy punched him without warning. The bully let go of Kat and fell to the floor holding his nose.

Kat backed away as Billy stood over his prey. "When a lady says to let go of her, you let go. She's obviously not into you and that should be all you need to know."

When Hank got up, Billy sighed seeing his next moves a mile away. When the wrestler charged, Billy simply moved aside and Hank ran into a nearby locker head first.

When Hank got up and turned to him, Billy shook his head in resignation. When the bully ran at him again, Billy brought his knee up and caught him in the midsection, dropping him to the ground. Hank groaned and held his stomach.

"What is going on here?" Caplan said as he broke the crowd up.

"This idiot broke my nose!" Hank complained.

Kat spoke up then. "Mr. Caplan, Hank was hurting me! Look I have a bruise now!" When Mr. Kaplan turned to her, she showed him her arm where her skin was starting to show signs of discoloration. "Billy was protecting me!"

"It's true, Sir." One of the students said pushing through the front of the crowd. She was another student and one of the few Goths kids in the school. "I saw everything!" When there were many other echoes of the same thing, the principal sighed. "Ok, that's enough, get to class, first hour starts soon."

When the crowd dissipated, Caplan looked at the two boys. "Mr. Cranston, would you escort Miss Hillard to the nurse's office?"

As they walked away, they could hear Hank getting a detention.

"Thank you for helping me, Billy." Kat said softly

"You're welcome. Are you okay?"

"Other than my wrist, I'm fine."

"I'm sorry…for not asking you to the Spring Dance sooner."

"Yes, I'll go with you."

Billy and Kat stopped in the hall and looked at each other.

"I wanted to do this formally, but Kat, would you go with me to the Spring Dance."

"Absolutely."

"Excellent!"

End Flashback

And then what happened?" Kira wanted to know.

"It was a nice dance," Adam answered, "Sadly, I was the odd man out, so we made the dance a group thing and a few girls did ask me to dance. In the back of my mind, I wondered if any of them were my mate, but there weren't any sparks. It was a fun night, but I was glad when it was over."

"For us, it was a magical night." Kat interjected. "That night, I knew something had changed. But I didn't understand what that something was. It wasn't until I got thrown into the middle of the fight that I was told everything."

"Ok, so what about this is so dark?" Conner asked.

"It's what happened just before school ended that makes things dark." Tommy said softly.

When Kimberly's breath hitched, her mate hugged her tightly.

"Around the time that school was about to end for the summer, I heard that Gunther Schmitt was coming into town. He's a famous gymnastics coach.

I had no plans to join his team, but when I met him, he offered to give me some pointers to improve my technique. I met with him for an hour or two while he was in town and he gave some great advice. He did offer me a spot, but I knew that I was needed here more. I'm one with Tommy and if I left, Tommy would follow me, and the team needed him. Lord Zedd and Rita was getting more and more viscous in their attacks and leaving would be detrimental to the team. So, when the time came, I respectfully declined."

"Around that same time, I had become weak and even passed out during a battle against the Tengas. I was a little nauseated but I just passed if off as not drinking enough water and not eating enough carbs."

"Then, came the day I was attacked. We showed up to school early the day of the final exams and I wanted to do some extra studying in library. Anyway, I had gone to the bathroom and that's when they came after me."

"Veronica had her bitch squad grab me when I came out of the stall and beat me up. By the time they were done, I was bleeding everywhere. At some point, I was thrown into the bathroom mirror, so I was cut up along with being black and blue everywhere."

Tommy hugged her close and kissed her head.

"I felt her distress through our bond and rushed in. Thankfully, the school nurse was in her office and was able to call 911 for us.

It wasn't until we were at the hospital and Kim had been admitted for observation that we got the bad news.

-Flashback-

Tommy was sitting at Kim's bedside when the doctor walked in. He looked to be in his early 40's with tousled light brown hair and a neatly trimmed beard. Had they not been in a state of worry and agitation, they'd have noticed that he looked like he belonged in a rock band and that he had more than a few neck tattoos that were just barely hidden under his white button down shirt and lab coat.

When he walked in, he gave them both looks of compassion. "Hi. I'm Dr. Jensons. I'm an ER physician here at Angel Grove Memorial." He looked at Tommy. "Are you her immeditate family?"

"My name is Tommy Oliver. I'm her fiancé. Her dad is on his way in from a business trip in Michigan. Her mother isn't in the picture anymore."

The handsome ER doctor nodded. "Ok." He paused and laid the patient file on the table, and then sat gingerly on the edge of the bed.

"You both seem like strong young people and this isn't going to be easy to hear."

Tommy gave Kimberly a worried look and then looked at the Doctor. "How bad is she?"

"Well, the injuries she sustained from the beatdown are not as severe as they could have been." He paused and looked at Kimberly. "You should recover from that soon, but, I suggest that you take a week or two of rest and refrain from any vigorous activity. The only positive thing that came from this incident is that it happened during the last week or two of school, so you should have the whole summer to recover."

Tommy looked at Kim and kissed her forehead.

The doctor watched the intimate moment for a moment and then continued.

"What I'm going to tell you next isn't going to be easy for you to hear."

"What is it?"

"With the direct hit you took to the stomach, you've suffered a miscarriage. I don't know if you were seeing an OBGYN, but I suggest you follow up with…" he trailed off seeing a look of shock on their faces.

"You didn't know."

"No sir, we had no idea. We use protection every time."

The doctor nodded. "Well, sometimes, even when you're being responsible, pregnancy can still happen."

-End Flashback-

It was a shock to us to find all that stuff out, but to be honest, it worked out for the best. We would have been more devastated if we'd known about it. Sure, we mourned for about a week over what might have been, but ultimately, we still had a city to defend and with arrival of Master Vile, the sire of Rita and her Brother Rito, we had very little time to rest."

"Thanks to the Great Power, Kim healed faster than we expected and before we knew it, she was back in the cockpit and fighting alongside us."

"But what about the Bitch Squad?" Kira prompted. "Tell me you got revenge for what they did."

Kim opened her mouth but then the baby monitor went off a baby's cry was heard. "That's Mav." She said. "I guess it's time for his feeding."

"I'll go with you, they don't need us to finish the story." Tommy added as he got up.

Kim gave him a grateful look and they both got up and headed to the house.

When they were gone, the younger adults looked towards Billy and Kat. "So, what happened next?" Trent asked in a tight voice.

Billy took a long sip of his drink and then gave them a serious look.

"Things got really ugly."
