Yep, I'm on a roll right now! You get another chapter. After having an awesome birthday, I'm feeling refreshed and ready to continue with the story.
This chapter is full of lemons and citrus, as well as brief foul language. I doubt you guys will mind when you find out why. As you guys might have figured out, this chapter is about Maverick and how he came to be...you know, besides having sex. Anyway, this chapter was a real joy to write and I hope you guys will enjoy it too!
(Continued from the last chapter)
In a plane 40,000 feet in the air
Coach Class section
Tommy sat in his seat next to the window with his son snuggled against his chest. He'd been fine for the most part and he prayed to the Great Power that it would stay that way and for a while, his son was happy to be in his arms and sucking contently on his pacifier. Sadly he found out just a few minutes after receiving their refreshments that flying with an infant was not as easy as he'd hoped for. Maverick was crying again; he was hungry and wanted his mother.
That was when the cranky woman in the business suit and coiffed hair stood up from her seat and confronted them.
"Can't you keep that brat quiet? Some of us paid loads of money for this plane ticket and we shouldn't have to put up with such racket!"
Kimberly had already positioned the blanket she kept over her shoulder in preparation to feed her son, but when the disgruntled woman spoke, she paused and looked up at the woman with fancy Gucci glasses with a withering look. "Well, bless your heart, Sweetie." She drawled in her best southern accent. "I'll surely do my very best to keep ma 5-month-old bundle of joy just as quiet as a church mouse. You be sure to do the same!"
The woman nodded and then realized what she'd just said and frowned. "How rude!"
Kimberly nodded, dropping the fake accent. "Yep, I totally agree! I find your attitude to be very negative and uncalled for. I'm pretty sure I paid the same fare per ticket for my family as you did and for all that money I spent, I'mthink my family and I deserve to be treated with the same respect. Sadly, it seems, that you are incapable of doing so as you've treated us with nothing but disrespect from the moment that my son started crying…like a whole 60 seconds ago."
The woman started to object but Kim was on a roll.
"You were so quick to put me in my place that you didn't even notice that I was already preparing to feed my son so that he'll sleep the rest of the way. Now, if you'd be so kind to turn back around, I can tend to my son and we both can have some peace and quiet for the rest of the flight."
The woman clucked her tongue. "Just as long as you cover up. No one wants to see…that."
Kimberly would have left the argument alone, if she hadn't heard the woman muttering under her breath about Trailer Trash ruining the flight for everyone one else.
There's no way she could have kept what came out of her mouth inside.
"You know, you talk a lot of smack for someone carrying around a Michael Kors knock off. I bet you paid at least 250 dollars for it off eBay and didn't even check to see if the seller was legitimate or not."
At the woman's startled look, Kimberly smirked and added. "Also, I'd check that prissy Victorian attitude while I was at it. Those airs you're putting on are as fake as that purse."
The woman huffed at her but said nothing as she sat down in her seat shaking her head.
Tommy chuckled softly at his wife as she accepted their baby and began to feed him. When the baby was quiet, he whispered, "That was magnificent, my beautiful Crane. You destroyed her."
Kim sighed. "I'm sooo ready to put the swords away for now, I'm still amped up from earlier; I guess it's too much to ask to be left in peace for a while."
Tommy chuckled at her and was about to suggest something, but Kim stopped him. "No handsome, I meant what I said before about joining the Mile-High club. I refuse to mess around in a bathroom where millions of people have taken a dump and or blown chunks. I can wait till after the kids are settled in to get rid of the energy."
Tommy laughed out loud. "I was kidding when I said that, Beautiful. Believe me, I'm not about to make love to you in such a dirty place. I know tonight's sleeping arrangements have been made and we're playing chaperones, but as soon as I can, I'll steal you away for a little while."
Kim sighed. "I know you will, Handsome."
Tommy kissed her one last time and left her to her thoughts, as he picked up his fitness magazine and began to read it.
In the quietness of the cabin, she began to revel in her memories again. Much more pleasant memories of the time before Maverick…and most likely the events leading up to her newborn's conception.
~Flashback~
Reef Side Mall
Roughly 17 months before
Tommy and Kayla walked hand in hand down the aisle of the sporting goods store. Kimberly followed them with the little shopping cart, enjoying the view. Most of the time, they would order this stuff online, but there were already in the mall, so they decided to go in as a family.
At this point, Kim had accepted that her daughter was a complete Daddy's girl. They walked hand in hand, both clearly excited by the same thing…MMA gloves that were pink and green. Clearly, they were for young girls to wear, and Kayla wanted them.
It was as they were looking at the gloves that the skinny toothpick with boobs strutted up to Tommy and began to flirt with him, completely neglecting Kayla who was watching with interest. Tommy was doing his best to be polite and trying to explain to the toothpick that he was only interested in getting the gloves for his daughter. But the salesgirl was being relentless, and Tommy was slowly losing his patience. He sighed and told her that he could find what he needed without her help, dismissing her.
When he went back to talking to Kayla, the shameless hussy reached out to touch his shoulder and Kimberly lost it.
She marched up to the girl and got in her face. "Hey, my husband dismissed you, he doesn't want your help and even if he did, we could find someone else who's not so handsy to help us."
The girl only flipped her hair and walked away, still swaying her hips in a way that had Kimberly fuming.
"There's nothing to be jealous of, My Love." Tommy said soothingly. "She's half my age and I'm pretty sure she's made from plastic."
Kimberly cursed softly under her breathe. "I'd like to shoot one of my power arrows through her chest till silicone comes spewing out. Don't these bitches notice wedding rings anymore?"
Tommy kissed her neck, with Kayla still watching them both. "Mommy? Daddy?"
Tommy looked down at her and then at Kimberly. "It's okay, Princess." Then he took Kimberly's hand. "She's not worth it, Beautiful. Let's just get the gloves and leave. We still have an entire day to spend as a family."
Kimberly gave him a fiery look and then sighed. "I'm sorry Handsome. I'm not myself…" She trailed off remembering that their daughter was with them.
Tommy shook his head. "Don't apologize, that barbie doll had no right hitting on me when I'm clearly with the two most beautiful girls in the store."
Kimberly smiled at him and pressed a kiss to his lips. "I'll do my best to hold this aggression in till we can be alone."
~End Flashback~
And boy did she ever. It was not easy holding her need at bay, and there had been times when Tommy would do something innocent, and she'd instantly find it absolutely sexy and suddenly want him all over again.
~Flashback~
Finally, the day ended, and Kayla was happily tucked away in her bed and sound asleep. Kimberly made sure of it. Her little Disney light show was going, and her nature CD was playing.
Kimberly walked into the master bedroom to see Tommy sitting up in bed, reading his MMA magazine. He looked up when she came into the room and smiled. "Our little Princess's asleep?"
Kimberly closed the door and locked it. "Yeah, fast asleep." When she turned to look at him, he'd put the magazine on the bedside table along with his readers and was focused on her.
God, she'd waited long enough for this. Her lust was blazing out of all control and she let it all out.
Tommy licked his lips as his gaze darkened. "I'm yours tonight."
Kimberly nodded as she stripped down to her bra and panties. She crawled onto the bed and towards her husband who's eyes were almost black to match her own. He'd thrown off the covers and she now straddled his lap.
Tommy licked his lips again, but this time, it was in hunger.
"You're mine every night, My lord Falcon. That bitch was touching what was mine and she's fucking lucky that I let her live!"
"I hated every moment of it. We are one and she overstepped her bounds."
"Yes, she did and now I'm reclaiming you."
"Do it!"
Kimberly kissed him heatedly and Tommy reached behind her with practiced hands and in no time, had her stripped bare and on display for his hungry eyes. He leaned forward to cup her breasts and Kim stopped him. She gripped his wrists firmly and pinned them against the headboard.
He was fully hard now and groaned shamelessly as she freed him from his shorts and fully slid down over him, claiming him…
~End flashback~
Tommy chuckled next to her and whispered. "Hey, Beautiful, could you please come back to me from Lusty land?"
Kimberly was thrown from her thoughts and looked up at her husband with a gasp.
"Huh?"
Tommy touched his forehead and then his chest. "We're in a public space, My love. Keep going down that path and our fellow passengers are going to discover there's an extra passenger on board."
Kimberly blushed at him. "Sorry, Tommy. I'm just really wound up right now. I started thinking about the night we conceived our baby boy."
Tommy chuckled again. "I just bet you did. You sure put a smile on my face."
Kimberly gave him a look and then took a deep breath. "You're right, we need to tone it down and think about something else." A second later she looked under the blanket and noticed that her son was fast asleep and snoring softly. Tommy unbuckled his seat belt and sat forward to hold his son so that Kimberly could put her shirt back in place.
As she got buckled back into her seat and Tommy handed the baby back, she stroked her son's hair and then found her thoughts going back to the moment they'd found out about their little baby.
~Flashback~
Little Kayla was at school and Tommy was at work. That just left her and Trini whom was carrying her own little bundle of joy. Jason was busy at the Dojo with Billy teaching their classes. Trini was all smiles as she pushed the cart with her baby girl in the carrier.
She'd always had a sunny personality but now that she was finally a mother after so many years of struggling, the smiles never stopped.
Most days, Trini was at the Martial Arts studio running the office, but today was Kat's turn to man things so that left her with a free day to hang out and drink high priced coffee and eat brunch with her best friend.
"So, what are we shopping for today?"
Just some basic groceries and…a pregnancy test…a few of them…"
Trini's eyes widened. "You think you're pregnant again?"
Kimberly nodded. "I think so, I've been feeling really drained lately and it's no secret how often Tommy and I mess around. We haven't been using any protection and I ditched my pills again…"
Trini hugged her best friend. "I really hope so!"
Kimberly grinned. "Me too. Who'd have thought that lightning could strike twice!"
Later that day, Kimberly paced the room as she waited for the test results. Trini sat on the couch feeding her daughter and smiling at her best friend.
Just about the time that the timer went off, Tommy walked through the door and stopped to watch his wife pace.
"Hello, ladies. What's going on?"
Trini smiled up at their fearless leader but shook her head and pointed at Kimberly.
Tommy walked up to his wife and looked at her. "What's happening? I felt your anxiety…it was kind of muted and…" he trailed off and looked at his wife's expression. "Are you okay?"
Kimberly nodded at him and then looked at the bathroom again. "I'm waiting to see if lightening can strike twice."
Tommy looked totally confused. "Lightening?"
Kimberly nodded as the timer went off; then Tommy suddenly understood what Kim was implying. "Beautiful, are you pregnant again?"
Kimberly sighed. "I might be…that's what the tests are for."
Tommy nodded and gathered her into his arms. "That would be awesome! Do you want me to go and check for you?"
Kimberly laughed at her husband and nodded. "No, I can check it myself."
Taking a deep breath, she walked into the bathroom and looked at the tests on the sink…all three of them were positive."
Tommy walked in and wrapped his arms around her waist. "So, what's the verdict?"
"All positive. But we've had false positives before...I'm not sure I should trust them."
Tommy grinned and kissed her neck. "Then we'll go see your lady doctor and get another test."
~End flashback~
Tommy had been over the moon when they got the positive result. They were pregnant again just as she expected, Tommy went right back into expectant daddy mode though he had to tone it down a little until they had the time to tell their daughter about her big promotion.
If Kim thought Tommy was ecstatic before, the day they found out they were having a boy, he was over the moon.
~Flashback~
Kimberly laid on the exam table with Tommy sitting on the chair next to her with Kayla on his lap. They'd taken her out of school for the day and Tommy had found a substitute to teach his class. They'd be thrilled that it was another movie day for them.
Dr. Jacobs turned the lights out and turned on the machine. She was a kind lady and full of laughter. What made them both love her so much was that she included Kayla in their conversation. She explained what the machine and showed her how the probe worked, and Kayla looked at her with eyes of wonder as she heard the baby's heartbeat for the first time.
"That's him?"
"Well, that could be his or her heartbeat, that's what we're going to find out next!"
A few minutes later they had the results. "Have Mommy and Daddy explained the differences between a boy and a girl?"
"Only the basics." Tommy answered for her.
The doctor nodded and looked at Kayla before pointing at the image on the screen. "Well, this little thing right there, means you're going to have a little brother in 5 more months."
Tommy couldn't hide his grin as he asked the thing on every dad's mind. "Is he healthy?"
The doctor took another look at the sonogram. "He moving right along, I don't see anything abnormal from his scans and Kim's blood work came back exactly how I expected it to."
After giving Kim a warm towel to wipe the gel off, she walked over to her printer to retrieve the pictures.
Tommy leaned over and kissed his mate's cheek and hugged his daughter. "So, I guess we need to decide which name to go with."
~End flashback~
Maverick was what they decided on. They'd put a whole list together of potential boy names…but Maverick stuck out.
Kimberly had always loved the movie Top Gun; it was one of a few movies they both enjoyed. Kim loved the volleyball scene and the hot love scene, and Tommy enjoyed watching the aerial battle scenes. It really reminded them both of their time in their Falcon and Crane zords. Not that anyone outside of their ranger family understood that.
When Maverick made his debut, on May the twenty-fourth, and the nurses asked for his name, Tommy told her it was Maverick Diesel Oliver. She gave him an odd look and asked how they came up with such an odd name. Tommy looked at his wife and son with pride and then answered. "We named him that in hopes that he'd be confident enough to do his own thing and not go along with the crowd. Should he ever be faced with a tough decision, we are hoping that he'd make the right decision and not take the easy way out."
What Kim didn't say in front of anybody but her husband, was that she already knew that their son would be a rebel. It was inevitable simply because he was the offspring of both the Pink Death Warrior and the legendary Tommy Oliver. How could he be anything less than a warrior for good?
The Holiday Inn
Portland OR
Midnight
Tommy woke up from a deep sleep, feeling his mate's restlessness. He was shaking himself, though not as bad as he had the first couple months after their soul fusion. It was so needy and he knew exactly what the issue was.
Kimberly was struggling with their separation, and if he was honest, he was too. It had literally been a couple of years since they'd slept so far from each other; during the time of his imprisonment in the amber and then when he'd been in a coma. It had been pure torture for the both of them. He'd felt his mate's distress and could do nothing to soothe her. He'd been told later by Conner that Kimberly had been out cold as well and Kayla was just beside herself in distress.
He'd sworn to his mate that she'd never feel that distress again…and then this happened. They were separated by a floor. He lay there for a moment more before he reached for his cellphone that had begun to ring.
"Kim?"
Her voice broke." I'm sorry, Tommy. I need you…I'm not sure I can last till morning."
Tommy sighed. "Hang in there, Beautiful. I'm going to see if I can find a room for the night. Tomorrow, we're going to look for another hotel to stay at. I won't put you through this again."
"Ok, I'm getting dressed again. I'll be waiting for you."
Tommy hung up, got dressed and walked to the dresser where he'd put his keycard and wallet.
As he did, he saw that Kyle was in his bed wide awake. "Pyre, are you okay?"
The teenager shook his head. "I need her…I can't take this. I feel like I'm going to have a heart attack."
Tommy sighed again and ran a hand through his hair. "Ok, I'm not much better right now. Just hang in there and let me see what I can do."
As he walked towards the front desk, he saw that Autumn was pacing the hallway in front of their room. She looked troubled and conflicted.
"I can feel him…he needs me. But I know that you guys are in there. I don't know what to do."
Tommy sighed again. "Okay, go ahead and go to him, but remember that Paladin is in there too. Do what you need to do to calm him down, but keep it G rated until I can figure out alternative sleeping arrangements."
Autumn nodded and walked into the room, closing the door behind her.
When he got the front desk, he saw the night clerk typing on her computer. She looked like a very sweet older lady that had come out of retirement just because she was bored to death at home.
"Good evening. What can I do for you?"
"I need to book another room…our current sleeping arrangements aren't working for us."
"Is there something wrong with your rooms?" the sweet lady asked in a confused voice.
"No, I just need my wife and she's sharing a room with teenagers."
The clerk gave him a knowing smile and nodded. "You're in luck. We've had a last-minute cancellation. It's an economy room, not as fancy as the suite, but it's something."
"I'll take it." Tommy said with a relived smile. He pulled out his credit card and handed it over. This trip was getting to be expensive.
"Very good sir. All we need is for you to sign this receipt and you're all set for the night." When Tommy sighed the receipt, she handed over the keycard. "The room is a ready for you and your bride. Is there anything else I can do for you?"
"No, I don't think so." Tommy said as he took the keycard and slipped it into his pocket. Now all he needed to do what find a place for Katsume. He pulled out his cellphone and called Trent. Surprisingly, he sounded like he was wide awake.
"Dr. O, what are you doing up?"
"The sleeping arrangements aren't working out. We're needing to switch things up."
"I'm assuming this has to do with the soul fusion?"
"That's the basics of it. Pyre and Wyvern are having the same issue. I booked another room for the night, but I don't think your son wants to witness what the other miscreants are getting into."
"Too late for that." Paladin said as he walked up to them. "I had to grab my cellphone and get out of there really quick."
"Send him up." Trent said. "I'll pull out the sleep couch. There's already a blanket and I can give him my extra pillow."
"Ok, good deal. I'll be right up."
The extra room for the night
Kimberly walked into the room with their baby in tow. Tommy followed behind her with their portable crib slung over his arm. In no time, it was set up and their child was fast asleep.
Kimberly was shaking with need and that same look on her from before was on her face; absolutely starving for him. He walked over to her and pulled her shirt over her head.
She gripped his shirt and he nodded, helping her take it off.
There was no foreplay for them as she pulled the zipper down and reached for him. He stopped her. "Not yet, Beautiful. Get on the bed while I get the foil packet. The last thing we need is to get you knocked up so soon.
Kimberly nodded breathlessly as she climbed onto the bed, completely naked.
It wasn't long before he was hovering over her. She panted his name and he nodded. "Hang on tight, Baby. I'm going to take care of you tonight."
I hope you all enjoyed this chapter. I've had a few people ask why Tommy and Kim named their son Maverick. I hope I've explained it to everyone's satisfaction. Constructive reviews are appreciated and welcomed. I'm going to get working on the next chapter of 9 Months so that these stories will be synced up.
See you next chapter!
