BOOM!

Something fell from the sky in the Zebra's enclosure inside the zoo. It was nighttime, and most of the workers had left the zoo.

Ning Ruogong was the only person aside from a senior that decided to work overnight, taking care of the animals in the zoo. It just so happened that he was close to the enclosure when he heard the small boom.

"Hey, Ning. Can you go check what that was?" the senior spoke from a little far away.

"Okay," Ning opened the lock to the cage and walked inside slowly, hoping the zebras were already asleep. Unfortunately, they weren't.

He looked at the middle of the pack and saw a small crater from something falling from the sky.

'Did an airplane drop a part?' he wondered. He walked a little closer and realized the thing at the center of the crater was a black cube with a very polished surface, reflecting a ton of light.

'What is that?' he got curious and got a little closer. The zebras had stepped to the side, afraid of the cube for some reason. Ning didn't see it though. He was too focused on the cube.

He reached the cube and wondered, 'is it hot? Spaceships burn on re-entry to the earth. I wonder if it burned a little the same way as well,' he decided to give it a little tap before touching it entirely.

TAP

'It's not hot. In fact, it's cold.' He was surprised. Suddenly, the cube started to glow up. Blue light shined from the cube for a second, and then it died down again.

'What was that?' he got curious and decided to pick it up. As he reached for it, suddenly, the cube practically melted to a black liquid and grabbed his hand.

"ARHHHH," he started screaming with horror and started to frantically shake his hands to get rid of the liquid.

"What happened, Ning?" the senior who was far away started shouting as he also heard Ning's scream.

Suddenly, Ning heard something in his mind.

Congratulations on obtaining the Energy system

All of the system's abilities are currently disabled

The system will activate once the condition is fulfilled

"ARHHH," he still screamed not knowing what was happening.

"Stop screaming Ning, or otherwise…" just as the senior was saying this, Ning heard a dozen or so footsteps as he looked to the side to see all the zebras rushing towards him.

As soon as they reached him, the zebras turned around and kicked him with their back legs from each side. His screams had scared them and they had come to defend themselves by getting rid of the 'threat'.

"No— " he couldn't even finish his sentence before he died.

Congratulations, You have died

The so-called system started to speak once more. Only, the user was no longer alive to listen to it speak.

The Energy System is now activated

You are being reincarnated by the system

Please choose a location for reincarnation

The host did not choose a location in time

The system has randomly chosen 'Southern continent of the planet Kumia' as the location for reincarnation

Teleporting

Teleportation Successful

You are now in the Southern continent

Congratulations. You have been reincarnated as an Energy

'Where am I?' Ning Ruogong opened his eyes, or at least he thought he did, but the surrounding was still dark. He could hear nothing, nor could he smell or taste anything. He couldn't even feel anything.

'Those zebras attacked me, right?… am I paralyzed ?' Ning started to wonder. 'Or am I dead? How?' he tried to remember as much as he could. He started replaying the events in his mind backward starting from when the zebras attacked him.

Suddenly, he remembered hearing a voice. Something about a … 'did it say System?'

Energy System is now available to you, Ning Ruogong

A voice sounded in his head. 'Who said that?' he shouted in his mind. His mouth didn't speak for some reason. Maybe he really was paralyzed or even dead.

I am the Energy System, a system that is a part of you

He heard the voice once more. 'Who are you?' he asked.

I am the Energy System, a system that is a part of you

The same answer repeated in his mind once more. He couldn't understand what was happening. 'What is an Energy system?' he asked.

An Energy system is a system that turns you into energy after your death.

As an Energy, you can live on forever without the worry for death anymore

'So I really did die,' he got sad. 'Are you saying I am energy right now? What does that mean? am I not a human now?' he asked.

Yes, you are now an Energy, who can never die, and only change

You can become a human after completing tasks for the system

'Hmm…' Ning got a little curious. 'What task?' he asked.

Please use the command 'Status' to check your tasks in the system

'Ok… Status'

Suddenly, he felt he could see light for the first time. A bunch of information appeared in his brain.

[Status

Energy: 1

Task: Collect 9 more energy

Reward: You gain auditory senses

Shop: LOCKED

The system will unlock in 3:22]

Ning saw the status and was surprised. 'What does it mean by Energy 1?' he asked the system.

The Energy counter represents how many energies you have. Energy is a currency for the Energy System. You can do many things with energy.

'Oh, and how do I gain more energy?' he asked.

You cannot collect energy yourself. You will have to depend on luck to gather the energies for now

'Oh,' he looked at the status once more. 'The shop is locked? Maybe it will unlock later after I get more energy. The system did say the energy was a currency. Where else would currencies be used if not in a shop.'

'What does it mean by the system will unlock? Isn't the system already unlocked?'

The system takes 5 minutes to unlock after activating

'Oh, it just activated then, huh. Guess I will wait for a bit.'

Report chapter

Ning Ruogong's parents had died at a very early age, and he had been sent to the orphanage. However, even his early age was already older than most of the other orphans in the orphanage. So, when the time came for adoption, the adopting couples would always choose the younger orphans and leave the older ones alone.

The longer the time went on, the older he got, so the chances of getting adopted were also fleeting. Soon, he completely stopped having hopes for adoption and just lived his life as normally as one could in an orphanage.

At the age of 18, he left the orphanage to live on his own. But that cost him a lot of money to live on his own, so he had decided to look for a job and by chance happened to find work in a zoo for looking after the animals in the nighttime. Since it was a night shift, the pay was better than the day shift.

So, he took the job without hesitation. Alas, after only working at the zoo for 3 months…

'I can't believe I died. It just doesn't feel real. And somehow I became a … whats the word— Sentient? Energy, that's just more unbelievable.' Ning was watching the timer go down, but there were still 2 minutes left.

'Hey, system! Is that status all there is to the system?' he asked.

There are other hidden functions that will reveal themselves as you gain more energy

'Oh, are these functions different from the locked shop?' he asked.

You can unlock shop whenever you want after gaining enough energy

Hidden functions unlock automatically after you reach a certain amount of energy

There can be other requirements than just energy to unlock hidden functions as well

'Oh, what kind of requirements?' he asked.

The system will not tell you

Ning snickered to himself and waited for the timer to end. 5— 4— 3— 2— 1.

The system has been unlocked

'Alright,' Ning was curious to see what would happen now. But he waited for more than a minute now, but nothing happened. The energy count was still at 1.

'Hey system, what is going on? Why am I not getting any Energy points?' he asked.

The only Energy type you can gather right now is Heat

You will have to wait until you come across some stray Heat to absorb it

'What do you mean by I can only gather Heat?' he asked.

At the early stage of the system, the host can only gather energy that is in the form of Heat

As the system progresses, more forms of energy can be gathered

'Can you tell me what these types of energies are?' he asked.

The only thing you are authorized to know is that the next form of energy is Sound

'Oh, sound huh. I wonder how it works,' just as he thought that the system spoke once more, except this time it wasn't answering his questions but, notifying him of something.

You have gained 1 Energy

'Wait, I got an Energy? Nice.' He said. He checked his status and it said that he had 2 energy now and required 8 more energy to unlock auditory functions.

He waited for more to arrive but it didn't. 'Hey system, why am I not getting any energy at all? Isn't energy everywhere in the world? How is it that I'm barely getting any?' he was really confused about that.

You can only gather energy that is equal or less in amount than you

The closer the energy is to you in amount, the lower the chances of you absorbing it.

'Oh,' he thought. 'So, I guess I will just have to wait to accumulate more and more, huh'

He waited for a few minutes before he finally got another energy. Now he had 3.

'Hmm…' he realized something. It had only been about 10 minutes, but somehow he had already gotten over his death or the fact that he had somehow turned into energy. He had also completely accepted that he now had this miraculous system that, according to itself, made him immortal.

'Hey system, Why don't I feel any sadness for dying? In fact, I don't feel any emotion at all. I am only emulating the emotions in the head. I can't actually feel them.' He said.

The system has suppressed most of your emotions

You can unlock them through your task later on

'Oh,' he said emotionless. Soon, the energy counter reached 5 and it only escalated from there. As he gained more and more energy, the chances of him getting energy would increase as well.

Before he knew it, he was at 8 energy. He waited for a while and got another notification.

You have gained 2 energy

Congratulations. You have unlocked Auditory sense

Burble. Burble.

He suddenly started hearing sounds. He couldn't tell which directions the sound was coming from, but he was definitely hearing them.

'Is that water?' he thought. The sound he was hearing sounded like something one would hear underwater. 'Hey system, where on earth are we exactly?' he asked.

You are not on earth. You are reincarnated in the Southern Continent of the Planet of Kumia

You are flowing down a mountain glacier right now

'Huh? Wait for a second, I'm not on earth anymore? Why didn't you say that earlier?' he was shocked.

The system provided you with the information long ago, would you like to see?

'Yeah, show me,' as soon as he said that, all the notifications he missed from his death started flowing into his head.

'So, I got teleported to another planet? Wait, is there even life on this planet?' he asked. If he had to live in this world without anything here, he would rather just die again.

Life is abundant in Kumia. The amount of human alone in Kumia is 303.245 times more than Earth

'So many? Are there humans near to me right now?'

Host will have to find that out himself

'Okay, I guess. Let's see what my next task is. Status.'

'Hey system, what is this directional hearing?' he asked.

You can tell the directions of sound

'Oh, that can be quite helpful. Right now every sound feels like it's coming from everywhere.'

You have gained 3 energy

'3 at once? Nice.' The gathering of energy was getting faster and faster now that he had overcome the initial hurdle. Slowly, the energy started to accumulate and he completed the tasks easily.

You have unlocked Directional Hearing

The all surrounding sound suddenly got separated and he could now hear them as if he were using his own 2 ears to hear them.

'Yeah, I'm definitely underwater. And I don't think it's flowing very fast too, or at least the sound should have been louder if I were,' he thought.

'Ah, the system did say I was in a glacier. Makes sense if I am moving slowly.'

He waited for more notifications to come up, but nothing happened. 10 minutes passed, but still, nothing happened.

'Hey, system. Why am I not getting any more energy?' he asked.

The amount of Heat energy in the glacier is very low

And the sun just went down so you have lost your primary source of Heat energy

'Wait, does that mean I will have to wait until the sun comes up tomorrow morning?' he thought. The system said nothing, so he assumed he was right.

'Oh god!' he dreaded having to waste 12 hours just listening to what sounded like someone gargling.

'Is there a way I can sleep?' he asked the system.

You can turn off your consciousness until a condition is fulfilled, in which case the system will wake you up

'Oh, then can you wake me up when the sun comes up?' he asked

Confirmed

Suddenly, he lost consciousness.

...ou up from your unconsciousness

He woke up to listen to part of what the notification had said.

'Why did you wake me up so soon, system? I thought I said to wake me after the sun comes up.' he hadn't even been able to get a wink of sleep before the system woke him up.

Your consciousness has remained shut for 11 hours and 45 minutes

'Huh? Did I sleep for so long? But I didn't even feel like I was asleep?' he said.

You cannot sleep. The system only shuts down your consciousness on your demand

'Oh,' he hadn't realized that. 'God, why is everything so cold?... cold?' he said as he realized what he had just said. Cold.

'Huh? I can feel cold? What's going on?' he asked.

You can feel temperatures thanks to your Thermoception

'What is that? And how do I have it?' he asked.

Thermoception lets you know the temperature of the objects around you

You unlocked it 5 hours and 23 minutes ago

'What? Status' he quickly opened the status page.

'203!?!?! How did I get so much energy?? Didn't you say I wouldn't get any more energy since the sun was down?' Without him knowing, overnight, his numbers had grown tenfold.

The sun is only the Primary source. There are other residual energies in the glacier itself

'Why can't I see what I have unlocked yet?' he asked.

You can. Would you like to?

'Yes, show me!!'

Energy: Unlock

10: Auditory Senses

25: Directional Hearing

50: Rotational Movement

100: Auditory Spatial Sense

200: Thermoception]

'Rotational Movement? Auditory Spatial Sense? What does that mean? Can you explain?' he asked the system.

Rotational Movement: You can turn yourself around in any direction.

Auditory Spatial Sense: You can tell how spacious your environment is by the sound they produce.

Ning heard what the system said and started to feel around him. He could tell he was still in the glacier by the gurgle of water and the cold temperature around him. However, being inside the water, he couldn't tell exactly how large the glacier was.

'Hey system, does movement sense mean I will be able to tell if I'm moving?' he asked.

Yes

'Alright, since the sun is up, I should be able to gather enough energy now' he thought and waited for more energy to gather up. Suddenly, he got a notification. 'Here it is,' he thought as he checked.

You have lost 2 Energy

'What? Wait… W-What? What do you mean I lost Energy? Why am I losing energy?' He started shouting. Why would he lose energy when the purpose of the system was to absorb and grow more energy.

Part of the Energy in the water left you when the water evaporated

'So, I can also lose energy and not just gain it?' he asked.

Yes. Your purpose is to use the system to grow as Energy despite constantly losing it

'I see. But, wouldn't it be hard for me to gain energy if I keep losing it?' he asked.

No. At some point, you will start absorbing more energy from the environment than you will lose it

As you keep gathering more and more energy, the energy you lose due to the environmental factors will start to become negligible

'That's a relief to hear.' He gained 4 more energy as he said that. As the sun started to grow higher and higher, he both gained and lost a bunch of energy.

Around 5 hours later, a little before noon, according to the system, he completed the task.

You have gained Movement Sense

'Oh, I can feel it. I can tell I'm moving somewhere. Why can't I tell the direction though?'

He checked his status and realized why. 'This stingy system. Why is it making me do so many tasks to unlock the simplest of senses.' He thought.

The next unlock at 1000 Energy was Directional Senses. 'Well, at least I should be able to tell which way I'm moving using the sounds for now' he thought.

He let the water in the glacier carry him away to hopefully reach warmer climates where he would be able to gather more heat energy.

Report chapter

Over the course of the day, as the sun stayed in the sky, the water around Ning heated a bit and managed to give him a little energy. But the heated water also evaporated taking away some energy as well.

It was a constant struggle of giving and take.

Slowly, fear started creeping upon him. 'Uhh… system. As Energy, I don't have my own body, I assume?'

You are correct

You are currently inhabiting a few drops of water

You can only ever stay inside a body with mass

'I thought so. Then, say, of the few drops of water I inhabit, what would happen if all but one drop remains? Do I lose all of the energy as the water vapor would float away from me?' he asked.

Your consciousness is not tied to specific energy

If the majority of the water you inhabit turns to steam, your consciousness would fly away with the steam as they always inhabit the body with the highest amount of energy

'Oh, so I don't have to worry about losing all of my energy?' he asked.

Correct. The most you can lose at once is half of your Energy

That relieved a lot of stress off of his head. Well, his figurative head. Even after the sun went down some hours later, he still hadn't gained 1000 energy.

As soon as the system complied, he felt his consciousness vanish and reappear just as the system was notifying him of waking up.

'I can pass eons in this way.' He was happy he wouldn't have to sit through the times when nothing happened. He suddenly noticed that he could tell what direction he was moving in.

He could hear a lot of water around him, and could somehow tell which way they were flowing from the directional information his senses gave him.

'Finally, I can tell which direction I'm moving, and not just the fact that I'm moving.' He opened his status page to check what the next task was.

He started to notice a difference in the temperature around him all of a sudden. 'The water is getting warmer than with the glacier. Hey, system. Are we out of the glacier? He asked.

Yes. You are now in a river formed from the glacier

'Yes, finally,' he thought. 'By the way, what is Gravitational Sense? Do I sense gravity? Doesn't every object technically have gravity? I hope I don't get bombarded with information about the different gravity,' he said.

No. Gravitational Senses will tell you the directed with the highest gravity

In simpler terms, you will be able to tell which way is down

'Oh. Now that I think about it, I can't really tell which way is down huh.' He had been getting tossed around so much in the water that it was impossible for him to tell which way was down even if he could.

'Uhh… system. I'm happy that I'm gaining so much energy, but is there a way to not get notified for every single Energy?' he asked. The continuous bombardment of notifications started to annoy him.

'Why am I getting annoyed? My emotions are supposed to be supressed.' He thought. But then realized he was probably just emulating it because he was used to getting annoyed over such things.

The system can not hide the notifications of you receiving the energy

The system can instead delay the notifications so that they are given to you after they have reached a certain amount in total

'Huh? What about setting the amount a very high number? is that allowed?' He wondered if he could use a loophole to bypass the system's restriction.

Yes

Would you like to set minimum energy?

'Yes,' he replied.

Please select the minimum amount of Energy you want your notifications to be of

'Hmm… let's just make it so it's 30 for now. I will increase it to much higher number if i really want to hide it.'

Notification changed successfully

System will now only show notifications after you have gained 30 Energy

He found peace after the notifications stopped coming. Once in a while, he got the notification that he gained 30 Energy, but that was it. Before he knew it, in the warm waters, he reached 2000 Energy.

Congratulations. You have gained Gravitational Senses

Suddenly, he felt a lurch within him that pulled him 'downward'. 'Ahhh… what's happening? I'm falling !! Help'

ZHOOM

He heard the sound of water hitting the water. He had accidentally unlocked his gravitational senses just as he was falling down a waterfall.

'God, that scared me. I forgot I am not a human for a moment there.' He thought.

"Yosely eawnlo wer penqla bir"

"Oelson iegsn eihs wor guen heisjer"

Suddenly, he started hearing something. He heard the splashes of water and along with that, he started hearing voices.

'Are those people? Hey system, Are those people near me?'

Yes

The system didn't elaborate. 'Can they see me? Can I SEE them?' he started to get more and more agitated. He turned towards the sound. By the voice, he could tell they were just kids. 'Are they kids who came out here for a swim in the middle of the day?' he thought.

They can see the water you inhabit. But they can't see you, the Energy

Please collect more Energy to unlock Visual senses

He heard the sound of the children get further away, as the river kept on flowing away. He heard a few more people along the way, but he could never stop around to listen to them for long enough.

'God. This is starting to get depressing a little. Hey, system. Can you wake me up when I'm not in the water anymore?' he asked.

Confirmed

And he lost consciousness.

Ning didn't realize how long it had really been since he was unconscious, but for him, it was only an instant. He woke up to hear part of the system's notification.

He suddenly started feeling like gravity wasn't a thing anymore. He could tell which direction was down, but he could feel himself completely ignoring gravity and going upwards.

His Thermoception also told him that his surrounding was very hot. Way hotter than even the warm water he had felt down the waterfall.

Most weird of all, he could feel this weird sensation around him. Like he was surrounded by something very soft.

'Why can I feel this?' He wondered. 'Status,' he opened his status page to check how far he had gotten along in his quest to gather Energy.

'Wait, What?' he was startled. The last thing he remembered was him getting Gravity sense not even a minute ago for him at 2000 points. Now he had reached above 5000 points.

He quickly opened the list of unlocks and realized he had unlocked something called Texture sense. 'Hey, system. What is this texture sense?' he asked.

Texture sense: Lets you know the texture of the object in contact with the object you inhabit.

'Hmm… so it's like normal human skin. I can already tell the temperature. Thanks to this now, I can tell what sort of object I'm touching. What else can a human skin do?' he started to emulate his sense of touch from when he was still a human.

'Temperature, texture…. Pain. Yes, that is one more. God, I hope I don't unlock pain. That would be so bad.'

'As for another one… hmm… what about being able to tell how much force something is pushing on your skin wi— Wait, is that what pressure sense is?' he quickly checked his status once more.

'Hey system, is pressure sense similar to a skin being able to tell when something is pushing on you?' just as he asked that, a huge howl of wind started tumbling him away. He could barely hear the confirmation from the system regarding his question.

'By the way system, where am I? What am I?' he asked.

You are currently in the sea between the Southern Continent and the Central continent

You are currently in steam

'Steam? Wait, no go back. You said I'm in the sea? How long was I asleep for?' he asked.

You have been unconscious for 12 days and 17 hours

Ning tried to understand what the system had just said, but he couldn't comprehend it at all. He stopped thinking about other things and focused on what the system had just said.

'12 and a half days? I've been asleep for nearly 13 days? Why didn't you wake me up earlier, system?'

Host's condition for waking up was when the host was no longer in water

It took host 12 days and 17 hours to leave water

Ning thought for a bit. 'I did say that, didn't I?' He thought for a bit more and realized that something didn't add up.

'Hey, system, why don't I have a lot of Energy? I should have gathered a ton during the many days I was unconscious, right?' he asked.

Due to the high temperature outside of the glacier, most of the energy you gained left you as they evaporated

'God, am I ever gonna enough energy to not worry about losing them?' he thought. Then he realized that he hadn't asked the system for an opinion on this matter directly.

'Hey, System. What ways are there to gather more energy?' he asked.

Water is a bad object to inhabit for energy

Please switch to another object for better energy conservation

'Hmm… I didn't think about that. How do I switch to another object.' He asked

Wait for it, or unlock Body Switch

He dreaded the answer to the question he was going to ask, 'And how do I unlock this Body Switch?'

Please gather more Energy

'Are you f*g kidding me?' he couldn't help but scream internally. He had felt like was making some progress, but he was back to step one.

The air carried him high into the air where he started feeling cold again. He could tell from the sound that he was in a very, very vast sky. He steadily gained more energy even as the air around him was getting colder.

When he asked why the system told him that the friction between the air and the steam was generating heat energy. Also, it was sunny outside and he was getting the full brunt of the sun.

As he reached higher and higher, he realized that he wasn't losing as much energy as when he was in the water. Even when condensed in the air, the steam was still together as water droplets.

Slowly, he started feeling cold. In fact, he could tell he himself was getting colder. 'No, not me, but the steam.' He needed to learn to differentiate himself from the object he inhabited.

He couldn't see what was happening and only heard some noises. Although the cold didn't harm him, it started making him feel uncomfortable.

Slowly, he started to feel gravity more and more. Suddenly, he stopped feeling gravity as he started rising up and then falling once more.

The kept on happening for a few more times where he would start falling, but then suddenly start flying up once more.

'Hey, system? What is happening to me?' he asked.

You have been caught in a massive thunderstorm

The steam you inhabit has changed to ice particle, and you are starting to gather a lot of supercooled water

The updraft in the thunderstorm is keeping you afloat, but not for long

Ning couldn't understand what the system meant. 'Can't you say what is happening in simpler terms?' he asked.

Yes. In simpler terms, you are going to now fall to the ground as hail

Report chapter

'Hail?' as soon as he heard the system say that, he started falling down with extreme speed. Along the way, he gathered more and more supercooled water droplets that froze as they came into contact with the hail.

The speed kept on increasing as the hail hadn't reached its terminal velocity yet. After a few seconds, he could finally sense that the hail was no longer accelerating. 'Have I reached my max speed?' he thought.

As he fell, he started to worry if he would get broken into a million pieces if he fell on something hard. That would mean that he would have to start all over again as he would inhabit the body with the largest amount of energy from the impact. The system pretty much promised that he would always only lose half of his energy at once.

But if he were to scatter into millions of pieces, even the largest amount of energy would most likely be many times less than half. 'But the system said half. Hey, system. What happens if I hit something very hard at this speed as a h— '

Boom

A massive sound came forth as he most definitely hit something very hard.

'— ail.' He had reached the ground before he could even finish his sentence. The system still answered him.

Energy would transfer between the two objects during collision

The object that ends up with a higher amount of energy is what you will inhabit

You are now inhabiting a Rock

You have gained 962 Energy

He got both the answers and the notification from the collision back to back. His very cold body suddenly started feeling warm once more, and he could feel the very uneven texture below him.

He could hear a lot of other crashes as more hails dropped around him.

You have gained 395 Energy

You have gained 251 Energy

You have gained 366 Energy

'Hide the energy notifications. make the threshold number in the millions.' he said immediately.

Hidden successfully

'What is happening, system? Why am I in a rock now?' he asked.

During your collision, the hail you were inhabiting broke into many pieces, and most of the energy in the hail turned into Heat energy and Sound energy that got absorbed by the rock, and alongside that, it absorbed you too

Ning weighed on the system's answer a bit and asked back, 'From what I remember learning back in the orphanage, they said that energy can neither be created, nor be destroyed, and only change its form. Is that true?'

Correct

'Then, how did I not only survive a collision with a rock but also instead gained energy from it. That doesn't sound right?' he asked.

You were not the only one falling

Your snowflake had gathered other droplets of water to form a massive hail

Since, the energy in those water was not in the form of heat, but rather potential energy, you could not gather them

However, when they struck the rock, most of those got transformed to heat energy, and you managed to gain it

'Oh, so in other words, I got lucky. If I had fallen as hail in a little bit smaller size, I would've had a net loss in the transition of energy.'

Yes

As more and more hails fell on top of the rock, he got another notification.

You have unlocked pressure sense

As soon as he unlocked that, he could now feel the force at which the hails were hitting the rock.

The downpour of the hails lasted a lot longer than he had anticipated. 'Hey, system. Where exactly are we now?' he asked.

You are on a rock in the ocean a few kilometers away from the shore to the southern continent

'Oh,' just as he said that another notification arrived.

You have unlocked Proprioception

'Wait I unlocked something already? That was fast. Man, I am loving these hail.' He quickly opened the status page.

'Sense part of my body?' he started focusing on the hails that were hitting him, and found out he could now tell exactly which part of the rock they were hitting.

'Huh. I didn't even realize I was missing it. Oh wow, this rock is huge isn't it.' He could finally sense the overall size of the rock he had inhabited. From his estimates, he was nearly spherical in shape with a diameter of 20 meters or so, and half of it submerged in the ocean.

He had gone from tiny drops of water to be in such a massive rock. He was realizing now why he was gaining so much energy.

By the time the hailstorm ended, he had about 30,000 energy in total and required 20,000 more for the next unlock. He slowly felt warm sunlight caress the entire rock as the clouds parted to give way to the sun.

The heat energy of the massive rock gathered was far more than he could've expected. He was gaining about 1000 energy every minute. The ocean water also took away some energy as the water-cooled down the rock, but they were inconsequential in front of the massive amount of gain.

The energy gain slowly went down every minute as he felt the sunlight hitting from a steep angle, meaning the sun was about to go down the horizon.

'Ah, just a little more and I could've completed the task. Sigh, I guess I will have to wait for tomorrow to unlock this unidirectional vision,' he said.

He had been excited for it after asking the system what it was and learning it would allow him to see at a 30 degrees angle in front of him. He didn't need eyes for them, as he didn't need skin to feel or ears to hear.

Night came and the air chilled. 'Guess I will sleep till tomorrow morning then. Hey system, wake me up when the sun comes up tomorrow.'

Confirmed

And he fell unconscious.

It had been 2 days since Ning started inhabiting the rock. No thunderstorm arrived after the first day, but that just meant he got to bask in sunlight from morning to evening.

He had already unlocked Unidirectional vision and could now see far off into the distance in a very acute range. His vision itself wasn't as good as he would have hoped for. It was clear for around 10 meters ahead of him, but after that his vision got fuzzy.

According to the system, his vision would get better, and he could see further by investing Energy into it once the shop was unlocked. That was his sole solace right now.

Far into the south, he could see a vague silhouette of what he assumed was the Southern Continent. Everywhere else, it was just a blue ocean. Funnily enough, he could see in an acute angle from anywhere in his body from any direction thanks to his Rotational Movement unlock, and he could see everywhere.

He could clearly see inside the water, he could have a half vision in water and half in the air. He could even see the sun now and didn't have to wince at it like he would when he was a human.

The world he was in now, that the system called Planet Kumia, was no different from earth, other than the fact that it was numerous times larger.

He was quite bored waiting for the energy to go up, so he decided to sleep once more when suddenly, he heard something flying up in the air. He tried to look up but realized that he was looking at the sun, so he couldn't see exactly what was flying.

'Does this world also have airplanes and helicopters?' he wondered. He waited for whatever it was to fly past the sun so he could see it properly.

When it finally did, he saw 2, very tiny silhouettes, flying towards him.

'Is that a bird? No, a plane?' when he finally saw what it was, he was shocked.

'It's a man!!,' if he had a jaw right now, it would be on the floor for sure. 'Wait! Humans are flying in this world? What is happening?'

The flying humans flew past him towards the southern continent. Just as they were about to reach the land, however, a giant tentacle shot out of the ocean, grabbing onto one of the flying humans.

Ning was far away, so he couldn't see exactly what was happening, but he saw bright lights shine that didn't pale in comparison to the sun. The humans flew in and out of the clutches of the giant sea monster steadily cutting off its tentacle.

Although he couldn't see, he could tell for sure that the people were most definitely using fire.

'How are they flying? Or using fire? Is it magic?' he couldn't figure out. A bit later, it seemed the fight was over and the humans had won. One of the humans brought the entire giant sea octopus out of the water, and as soon as it reached outside, it vanished.

'What? Why did it disappear? What is happening?' things just got more and more confusing for him.

'Hey, system. Does this world have magic?' he asked.

No. This is a cultivation world, not a magical world

'Cultivation?' he thought for a bit. 'Like those popular stories back on earth?' he asked.

Yes

'Uhh… system, I have never read those books. Is it possible you tell me what this cultivation thing exactly is?' he asked.

Cultivation is an intelligent being's journey to get stronger in search of long life, or maybe even immortality

'That… sounds awesome. Those people there used fire, I think. Is that a thing cultivators can do?' he asked.

Cultivators can use different abilities using an energy form called Qi, which is abundantly available in the Planet Kumia

For more knowledge on Cultivation, please visit the Shop

'Hmm… guess I'll have to wait until the shop is unlocked huh. I wonder when I can unlock the shop. Honestly, the next unlock seems a little useless.' He looked at his status once more and read the next unlock only to emulate disgust towards it.

His next unlock was Emotions. While, emotion by itself wasn't something bad, but having to unlock it and it taking up position for other more useful senses made him think it was useless.

'Well, I guess I don't have to emulate my emotions anymore, and can actually feel it.' He wasn't very far away from unlocking emotion. Just a couple of more hours of sunlight, and he should be able to unlock it.

'Qi huh, you said that's a form of energy. Was there Qi back on earth as well?' he asked.

No. Qi is a rare form of energy found in very few planets

'Oh, it's rare? How many planets have Qi in total?' he asked.

Infinite

'Huh? Infinite? I thought you said Qi was rare. How can infinite planets have Qi if it's rare?' he puzzled.

There are many more planets that don't have Qi than there are that have it

'Umm… how many planets are there in the universe exactly?' he decided to ask.

There are 68,180,268,153,211 planets in the universe with life on them

'So many?? Wait, but you said an infinite amount of them had Qi, right? Why are you contradicting yourself now?' the system was giving more and more confusing answers.

The planets in a universe are countable, however, there are an infinite number of universes

Yours is just one of them

'Ah' he finally understood. 'So the multiverse theory is true?'

Yes

'Can I ever visit the other universes?' he asked.

Traveling from one universe to another requires you to spend 10 supermassive Black Hole's worth of Energy

'Ah, hahaha,' he started laughing unenthusiastically. 'I guess I will stick to unlocking emotions for now. I wonder what sort of emotion I would have felt when I heard that.'

As such he spent a few more hours in the sun until he heard the notification.

Congratulations. You have unlocked Emotions

Ning felt bored. He didn't emulate boredom, he really felt bored. He had been waiting around in the rock for a few days now. The thunderstorm had come and gone by once more, while most of the other days were just cloudy. So, even the Energy he gained wasn't a lot.

Every single day, he would wake up at sunrise, hoping this day would be the one where he unlocked his next skill.

'Status' he opened his status page to see how far he was from the next unlock.

[Status

Energy: 126,524

Task: Collect 73,476 more energy

Reward: You gain Body Switch

Shop: LOCKED

According to the system, his next unlock was a skill that allowed him to change bodies. Which meant, he could leave this god-forsaken ocean.

He had come to realize soon enough that this wasn't even a good part of the ocean. The part he was on was elevated from the rest of the ocean, so he couldn't even see anything down below. Just 10 meters deep, and he would reach the sand.

That was just sad. He felt sad. He also felt angry that he felt sad. 'Why do I have to get emotions system? Can't you remove them? I was doing so well before. Now all I do is feel bored and sad, and then get angry about it.' He truly hated the fact that he had unlocked emotions.

The moment he had unlocked the emotions, he had started to feel incredibly sad and even cried internally at the fact that he had died. He only then realized how fake the emotions he was emulating really were.

He was sad that he had done nothing with his previous life. From an early age, he was left out of everything. His parents had died tragically and left him alone, the friends he barely made in the orphanage left him to get adopted with their new parents, and even life itself had left him now.

Since then, he had started to hate the emotions he had unlocked. 'Tell me system, do I really need these emotions?' he asked.

Yes

There have been many records of hosts, who didn't have emotions, going on to use the system to do terrible things to the universe they lived in

Giving emotions is a way of making the user empathetic so that they don't bring unnecessary harm to others

The system was created so that the hosts can live a carefree life, not destroy other life in the process

So, Hosts are forced to have emotions now, and the emotions are also amplified a bit

'Is that why I felt so incredibly sad even when I had already come to terms with the fact that I died?' he asked the question, but the system didn't answer. The system had no way of telling exactly how sad he was feeling.

'Okay,' he accepted the answer, and along with it, accepted the emotions.

Finally, the day after, another thunderstorm arrived bringing along another hailstorm. Ning was incredibly happy. He could tell he had never been this happy before. Even his happiness towards getting the energy had been amplified.

The hails were a bit smaller this time, so every hit only brought about 100 energy each. It would take a lot of time for him to gather 70,000 energy this way.

'Guess, I'm not getting the body switch skill today. Hopefully, its starts getting sunny again soon.' Just as he thought that he happened to look up at the sky and saw something flash.

BOOM

A bolt of massive lightning appeared out of nowhere, hitting the rock he inhabited. It left about a 40 centimeters wide hole, and along with that quite a few notifications.

You have lost 8624 Energy

You have gained 234,284 Energy

You have unlocked Body Switch

'Holy S*t, That scared me. What was that? A lightning strike?' he could feel the extremely hot hole the lightning had left on the rock's surface. He looked back at the notifications and realized he had reached his goal.

'Body Switch? Wait… I did it? YES!!! Haha, it's here. I did it,' he exclaimed as he became the happiest he had ever been since coming here.

'HAHA!! More, Hit me more' he shouted internally at the storm. But, another lightning never came towards him.

'Oh. Right, I forgot lightning doesn't hit something twice. I got unnecessarily happy.' He got a little sad again. His emotions were very fickle right now and changed as fast as a chameleon changing its color.

He waited until the thunderstorm was over. By now, he had gained about 20,000 Energy from the hails alone. 'Status' he checked what his next goal was.

[Status

Energy: 391,542

Task: Collect 108,458 more energy

Reward: You gain Sounds

Shop: LOCKED

'Sounds? What do sounds mean, system? I can already hear things though. That was the first thing I unlocked.'

You will know when it unlocks

'Why are you being so vague?' the system didn't answer, so he changed his question, 'Alright then, let's switch bodies. How do I do that?'

Please choose a non-living object you would like to change bodies with

'Non-living? Umm… how about a roof? They get a lot of sunlight, right? Oh, no-no, Wait, can you switch my bodies with one of those cultivator's clothes? I want to see them use their abilities and fly around and stuff.'

You can only switch with objects your current body is in contact with

'My current body? But the rock is in the middle of nowhere. The only thing in contact with it is the ocean water. And I thought you said water was a bad body, didn't you?' he was starting to feel angry.

Solid objects make for the best bodies. Liquids and gas can be easily separated, so you have a much higher chance of losing energy

'Then, that means I can't switch bodies with anything right now? F*k!! I was getting excited about nothing.'

He had been so excited to know that he could finally switch his bodies and go somewhere else. However, after learning that he could only do so with objects he was in contact with, his disappointment was immeasurable and his day was ruined.

Ning Ruogong looked at the cloudy sky and sighed to himself. 'No, sun today as well.' It had been a few days since the sun was out in the sky.

The energy he was gathering had gone back to the same slow days.

A seagull came flying towards the rock and perched on top of it. "BOO!" A massive sudden sound ran out from the rock, scaring the bird away.

'Ahahaha,' Ning laughed to himself. Every since unlocking the 'Sounds' unlock, he could start making sounds at the expense of a few hundred energy for each second.

That 'boo' just there had cost him 300 Energy. But he didn't mind that. The 'Sounds' unlock had also brought along another change in him. He could now absorb energy from sounds as well. More specifically, he could gather the energy of the vibrating molecules which usually carried along with the sounds.

While the ocean itself was pretty quiet, the waves hitting the rock would make enough noise for him to gather a few hundred with each big wave. However, he was also in a very shallow location in the ocean, so the waves were never really that high.

'Status' he even thought in a tired voice.

[Status

Energy: 632,000

The next upgrade was something called Parallel thinking. According to the system, it allowed the user to concentrate on two different things at once. Later on, he could also buy more mental strength to change his attention from 2 different things to 3, or 4. However, each upgrade cost exponentially more.

'Just one hail storm where the lightning hits me, and I would surely get it. I wonder how much energy the lightning bolt has? Hmm… that reminds me. Hey system, What's the next form of energy I will be able to absorb after sound?' he asked.

The next form of energy you can absorb will be revealed when you gain a human body

'Oh, then that means it's not that far away, right?' he asked.

System cannot confirm how far away the unlocks are

'Whatever,' he was happy that he would soon, well, relatively soon acquire the ability to become a human. 'Hmm… I wonder if I will have to possess another human to acquire the body, or the system will give me a new one.'

The system didn't answer anything. A few days went by and he finally got the sunny day he wanted. The warm heat on his 20 meters wide-body felt really great.

As he was sunbathing, he suddenly heard something. Something was making a lot of swooshing sounds in the air.

'No way!!!' he thought. He looked towards the sound and saw 2 people flying towards him from the ocean. Just as they were about to reach him, a giant fish jumped out of the water to bite at one of the people.

However, it seemed the people were prepared as they immediately dodged it and started throwing all kinds of magic attacks towards it. This fight was much closer to him, so Ning could see everything clearly.

'Wow,' he couldn't help but be entranced by the fight. The cultivators were tough, but the fish wasn't a slouch either. It suddenly jumped out once more and slapped one of the people with its tail.

'Oooh,' Ning internally winced as he was pretty sure that attack just now broke the man's right arm. The man wobbled a little as he tried to stabilize himself in the air. The person happened to near Ning now, so he could clearly see the man's mangled arms.

The man, however, didn't cry or even make a sound. It simply looked at the fish that was distracted by the other cultivator and took out his sword from its hilt in his waist.

The sword started glowing a frightening crimson red, and he tossed it towards the fish so fast, it created multiple sonic booms just on his arms.

You have gained 102,366 Energy

'Woah!, Just one of his attacks, and the sound alone gave me 100K energy. How much energy would I get if that thing really hit me?' he wondered.

The sword accurately hit the fish monster's head, blowing off a chunk of its head. The other cultivator started huffing very loudly as he was tired of fighting the fish alone.

"Losen eugb isen"

"Soeh"

Once again, they spoke languages that he didn't understand. They slowly flew towards him and sat down on his rock to rest. He could finally see them clearly.

Both of these men looked like they were in their 40s. The man with the mangled arms finally started showing pain on his face. Suddenly, he did something, and a small round object appeared in his hand.

' Is that a pearl?' he wondered. The man suddenly put it in his mouth and swallowed it.

'Woah, what was that?' he wondered. The system didn't seem to be answering any of his questions so he wondered if this was related to cultivation as well.

Suddenly, the man's arm which was entirely mangled started to change its shape. Slowly, the arm returned back to its clean, undamaged state. The only thing that was damaged now was his cloth.

The man slumped to the ground and sighed with relief.

'Hmm…' Ning started feeling something poking somewhere on him. He looked at what it was and realized it was that man's sword. Or more accurately, the sword scabbard.

'Wait,' he thought, 'That's an object touching me right? Hey, system. Can I switch body to that scabbard?' he asked excitedly.

It will cost you 5000 energy. Are you willing?

'Yes! Do it'

Confirmed

Suddenly, he felt his entire consciousness move from one body to another. His vision and proprioception were the two senses that gave him the most trouble as they took time to adapt.

Once he was done adapting, he looked around, he could finally see the rock he had been living on for the past few weeks. The men slowly started flying, and Ning could feel himself getting lighter. He looked towards the direction the two cultivators were flying.

'Southern Continent! Here I come.'

Report chapter

The blue ocean, the cool air brushing along his body, the unusual feeling of flying, and the sheer happiness at finally leaving the giant rock in the ocean. Multiple feelings passed over Ning Ruogong as he flew across the ocean towards the southern continent.

He looked towards the two men he was flying with and was amazed at how stoic they were. They weren't revealing a single bit of emotions at the fact that they were flying.

'Must be a usual thing for them,' He thought. He looked down at the deep blue ocean and saw a couple of fishes swimming by. It reminded him of the zoo he worked on. Part of the zoo had a small aquarium where small to medium fishes were kept. While his job was to look after the terrestrial animals, he would sometimes get to see the aquatic animals in their environment.

He wanted to switch bodies to the sword but decided not to for now. If he were inside the scabbard, he would miss the amazing view that was in front of him.

He looked to the front and saw a small beach near the shore followed by what was the largest forest he had ever seen. Even counting the rain forests he saw on the TV, they would pale in size to these. The cultivators were high enough that he could see the forest go on for what he felt was forever.

As soon as they reached the beach to the southern continent, the two cultivators suddenly sped up. They were hundreds of times faster than when they were flying in the ocean.

'Why are they speeding up only now? Is this forest so dangerous that they have to leave as quickly as they can? Or is the ocean so treacherous that they have to be careful about every step they take?' he could wonder however much he wanted, but he was not going to get the answer anytime soon.

The two men started talking once more for a brief period of time. Ning tried to listen to those words once more, and he was absolutely sure he had never even heard of a language that sounded like that.

'Hey, system. Can you translate what they are saying?' he asked.

System cannot directly assist in communication with other living beings

'Directly? If you can't then assist me indirectly' he said.

System can allow you to learn the language of the Planet of Kumia

'Oh, that's good. Alright, teach me.' He happily expected to immediately start understanding the two men now.

Please purchase 'Planet Kumia's Language' or 'Book of Languages' from the shop once it's unlocked

'What the hell? I thought you were going to teach me.' He got angry suddenly. He was fed up with hearing that everything required the shop to be opened, while it never told him what he had to do to open the shop.

System cannot directly assist in communication with other living beings

'So teach me the language counts as directly assisting? Sigh, alright.' He went back to looking at the giant forest. From time to time, he could see weird-looking animals that were unique to this world alone. However, whenever these animals saw the two men flying in the sky, they would immediately run to hide within the trees.

'Are these men so strong that the animals are running away from them?' he wondered. This took him to another train of thought. 'If they are very strong, they must output enormous amounts of energy while fighting. I wonder if I can absorb it while remaining in the scabbard. Wait, what if I switched bodies with the blade itself? Wouldn't I be able to gain a tremendous amount of energy?' he assumed his line of thinking was right.

'Hey, system. Switch my body with the blade in the scabbard.' He ordered the system.

The system cautions against switching bodies with a weapon

'Huh? I'm not allowed to? What happens if I switch body with a weapon?' he asked.

Weapons are tools made to pass energy from oneself to other objects

This usually means the energy in the weapons are gained from the user and transfers to the object they target

In essence, weapons are some of the worst choices to transfer bodies with

'Oh. Hmm… I think that makes sense.' It took him some time to understand what the system meant, but once he understood, he was fine with staying in the scabbard.

After an hour or so of flying at maximum speed, the two men arrived at a small city. The city was walled up towards the outside of the forest, while the buildings were on the other side.

The two men flew down to an open area with people wearing similar clothes. Almost as if they were wearing a uniform, each person had the same dress as the other. The clothes happened to be what these two men were wearing as well.

The grayish-blue cloth with a black sash around their waist. Only, these other people had white sash. Ning thought these men must be of some status to wear something different.

'Hmm… most of these people are just kids, aren't they? I thought they were adults because of their long hairs, but at most they are 25 at best.' He could see the youths come towards the men and greet them.

Ning watched as the two men were greeted with a bow by everyone they passed by. He couldn't understand what the language the people spoke, but even then he could understand just how respectful they were.

A young man came forward after the man called and both of these men passed along their swords to the young man. The young man bowed and left as he took Ning along with him.

'Huh? Where are they taking me?' he wondered. The young man walked for a few minutes before he came across a large building. He went inside the building and took out a metal necklace that he places on a wall.

Suddenly, the wall opened and Ning could see numerous swords and armors and all types of weapons in there. The young man walked inside and placed the sword alongside a wall.

'Huh?' before Ning could even understand what was happening, the young man left the room, leaving the scabbard Ning was in inside the room.

Ning started looking to his right, it was dark. His left was dark, so was his front and back. The entire room had no openings from where light could enter.

Ning started to freak out for a moment. 'Am I going to be stuck in here forever?' his panic had left him unable to think properly. After a minute or so after the panic slowly went away, he finally started using his head.

'Hmm… no, people will definitely come here for the different weapons and armors, right? I will just have to wait until then.'

An hour passed, and nobody came. Another hour passed and nobody came. Three hours passed, and Ning was done waiting. During this time, he realized in the darkroom, he neither gained energy nor lost it.

Ning looked to the ground he was touching, 'can I switch bodies with that?' he wondered. 'Hey, system. Can I switch bodies with the ground to go outside?' he asked.

Negative

You cannot switch bodies with the ground itself

You can only switch bodies with a lump of dirt on the ground

The ground is not considered a single entity, so you will have to switch bodies multiple times to get out of this room

The system wasn't stingy with answers when the question had nothing to do with the upcoming unlocks or something he could get from the shop. 'So the ground is a no-go, huh? What do I do then?' he thought for a brief second and came up with something.

'Hey, system. I'm going to sleep. Wake me up when that door opens, okay?' he said and fell unconscious.

Suddenly, he woke up once more to the sound of the half notifications from the system. He immediately looked towards the door and saw a small slit open, bringing in the much-needed light to the room.

The door then fully opened and 2 middle-aged men walked in. These men had a grayish-blue robe on them along with a black sash on their waist.

After they walked in, they made way for 3 teenagers to enter. They looked to be no older than 18 years old and wore the same clothes like the two men, except they had a white sash instead of a black one.

The two men spoke something that Ning couldn't understand, and the 3 teenagers nodded and walked towards the weapons along the wall.

Of the 3, 2 were young men and while the last one was a young lady. The young lady happened to walk towards him and started looking through the weapons just beside him. She picked a weapon, turned it around, felt its weight, and then put it down.

She did the same thing with the other weapons as well. When she reached him, she picked him up as well, when suddenly the two men said something that made the lady immediately gasp and put him down.

'No, NO! System, switch my body with whatever I am touching right now' he screamed internally.

Suddenly, he felt his whole consciousness shift bodies as he found a hard time adapting to the changed structure of himself. 'Where am I?' he wondered. He could never see the object he inhabited himself, so what he was currently in was a genuine question for him.

He suddenly started to feel something; something smooth all over him and also, he could feel two big lumps. 'Uhh…' if he had a face right now, one could visibly see his face shift from white to red. 'No way!!' he started to look in all directions, and finally realized, he was in the girl's robes right now.

Naughty thoughts started appearing in his head. 'Should I peek? NO! But, maybe a little. It won't do any harm right?' his curiosity took the better of him, and he slowly shifted his vision to take a peek. Unfortunately, or maybe, fortunately, the inside of the lady's robes was dark, so he couldn't see anything.

'Aww…' he was disappointed. 'Wait no!! Stop feeling like that. You are not a pervert' and also berated himself for feeling disappointed. His amplified emotions were quite hard to control right now.

The girl walked around the room looking for weapons, while Ning had a hard time focusing on the surrounding with everything he was physically feeling. Finally, the lady stopped across a thin rapier-like sword. The sword itself had a blue handle, and the sheath it was kept in was also a darker shade of blue.

The lady looked at it for a while, and nodded to herself, keeping it to herself. 'I can't do it anymore!!' Ning shouted to himself. 'System, switch body with the sheath.'

Confirmed

Once more, he felt his consciousness lurch forward and leave the robe only to enter the sheath. 'God that was so distracting.' He said to himself.

The girl and the other 2 young men walked outside, followed by the middle-aged two men. 'Ah, finally! I'm outside. I was scared for no reason earlier.' He thought to himself. He laughed a little remembering how panicked he was minutes ago.

'Oh, by the way, system, how long did I sleep this time?' he asked.

You were unconscious for 6 months, 14 days, and 5 hours

'What? I was unconscious for so long? Does that mean no one entered that room for half a year? What is that room exactly?' he wondered. He suddenly felt a chill on his body. He looked back towards the outside and was stunned by what he saw.

Snow was falling from the sky. The land was covered in snow, making everything white. The side of the buildings was frosted while their roof was also filled with snow. Black smoke rose out of the buildings.

'Snow…' he was surprised. This was his first time seeing snow. He had always lived in an area where it never snowed even during the winter, and he had only ever seen it on the TV.

Finally, seeing it in real life for the first time, he felt incredibly happy. He understood that the snow meant he would not get any heat energy from the sun, but he didn't care. Just seeing the snow was more than enough for him.

'Thank you system. If you hadn't brought me here, I would have probably never seen such a beautiful sight in my entire life.'

The system acknowledges your thankfulness

Report chapter

Ning looked at the surrounding buildings as he was brought along by the young girl in her sword. Snowflakes fell all around him, yet they never actually touched him. It was almost like the girl had an umbrella with her, blocking away all the snow.

The scenery quickly shifted as they left tall buildings and moved on to places where there were nothing but small huts. Ning looked to the distance towards where he just came from and saw the gigantic wall that blocked them from the forest in the north.

'So the big buildings are near the wall, while the smaller ones are far away from it. Is it because stronger cultivators live there and would be readily available to fight in case an animal comes through?' he wondered.

Ning then turned his vision towards the tall trees scattered across this little… 'Is this a village?' he wondered. At first, he had thought it was a big city after seeing the large buildings, but moving away from the buildings there were nothing but small huts and cottages. He couldn't tell if it was a city or a village anymore.

Although what it was called didn't matter. He looked to the sky to tell the time, but couldn't since it was very cloudy and couldn't tell where the sun was.

'Hey, system. Do you know what time it is?' he asked.

It is currently 4 in the afternoon

'Oh, then it must be getting dark soon.' The girl took him to an open spot with giant posts stuck on the ground across the field. She took out her new sword and smiled as she reveled in its brilliance. Ning could see the blue light reflected from her sword shine in her eyes.

She prepared herself and thrust the sword directly into the post.

DING

You have gained 530 energy

While the points he gained weren't a lot, by comparison, he was still surprised he managed to get so many points from a simple attack to the wood. The girl hit the wood a couple more times and even used an ability from the looks of it.

Satisfied with herself, she kept the sword back into its sheath. Ning could feel the heat coming off of the blade after striking the post with so much energy.

You have gained 760 energy

You have gained 594 energy

'Shut that off, system' he said knowing it would appear for a while.

Confirmed

The girl decided to return back toward the village. Along the way, people would see her and greet her. While Ning didn't really understand what they were saying, he did hear one word being repeated over and over. It was Freya.

'Is that her name?' he wondered. Seeing how she reacted to the word 'Freya', he was pretty confident it was indeed her name.

Freya walked back to a small hut, which admittedly looked better than most of the huts around her village. 'Does she have a special status in the village or something?' he couldn't help but wonder.

The inside was simple. There was a bed along a wall with a small carpet on the floor. There was only one window with pink curtains on it. And aside from a small closet, Ning couldn't see any other furniture in there.

'Do they not have a TV? Is this world primitive by any chance? Can't be right? They have flown people fighting monsters. They should be able to build TV and radio.' Ning couldn't imagine living in a world without TV. He remembered having so much fun watching the TV in the orphanage. If he couldn't have that once more, what was he going to do?

'Maybe I should get enough energy to return back to earth, huh.' He started making ideas but quickly forgot about it as he saw the young lady start to undress her robe.

'Wait! No. I'm still here.' He started freaking out a little but was immediately disappointed as he saw the lady just open her sash and sit on her bed with her two legs crossed and on top of each other.

'What is she doing? It looks so uncomfortable.' He watched as her breathing started getting slower and slower to a point where it was barely noticeable.

'Is she asleep?' just as he wondered that her clothes and hair started moving a little as if they were blown by air. He looked towards the door, but it was shut, and so was the window.

'Where is the air coming from?' he wondered. Suddenly, even light started shining from around her. It was in a very minute amount, but in the closed-off room, It was visible.

'Hey, system. What is she doing?' he asked. He was wondering if this was some sort of technique used by a cultivator.

The girl is cultivating

'Cultivating? Is she trying to become stronger than before? What are the lights around her?' he asked.

The lights are Qi

'Qi? The energy only available in Kumia and a few other planets right? Can I absorb Qi too?' he asked.

Please unlock the shop

'Oh, that means I can. Thanks for finally answering, system.' He watched as the girl steadily cultivate, whatever that was. After a while, he got bored.

He looked at his status.

'How do I gain so much energy in this climate? I guess I will have to stick with sound energy for now. Hopefully, the girl takes me out a lot.'

He waited for a bit longer but there was nothing happening. There wasn't even a single sound to give him a notification. 'Oh god, watching this is so boring. I wish she had a tv she could turn on right now. I want to watch some cartoons right now.'

'Hey, system. I'm going to sleep. Wake me up when the sun comes up in the sky again.' He said.

Confirmed he slowly felt himself getting drowsy and losing consciousness.

Report chapter

Ning felt his drowsy head clear as his consciousness started returning back to him.

'Ugh… I feel like my head hurts quite a bit more than usual. Is this what hangover feels like?'

'I know, right? Arghh… it's killing me.'

'I know,' Ning started going back and forth with himself.

'Hmm… did I just talk to myself?' he was surprised.

'That is so weird,' he answered himself.

'What the F*K!! Am I going mad? Why do I hear myself?'

'No way. I hope I'm not going mad. That would suck.'

' ' SYSTEM, WHAT IS GOING ON WITH ME?' ' two voices simultaneously asked at once inside Ning's head. Somehow, he felt like he was two different consciousness, merged into one.

You have unlocked Parallel Thinking

'This is parallel thinking? I thought I was only supposed to think twice as fast. Not have a weirdo shouting in my head.'

'Hey, you are the weirdo!! Stop talking so much. You are giving me a headache.'

'I am the main mind, you are just a part of me.'

'Hey, if anyone is the main one, it's me. Stop calling yourself the main one when you are just a copy.'

'Hey, System! Tell this idiot who the main one here is!!'

'Yeah, tell this idiot his place.'

You are both the main Ning Ruogong, yet neither of you is

You were both parts of the original Ning Ruogong with all of your original mental capability equally shared among yourself so you can process things faster

'Oh, then I'm not the original?'

'Hmm… wanna call a truce?'

' I don't mind.'

'Alright'

'Btw, system. Wasn't Parallel thinking supposed to be super far away for me in terms of energy?'

'I was thinking the exact same thing? Why did it suddenly unlock, system?'

You have completed the task

The system didn't elaborate any further.

'Do you remember how much energy we needed to unlock Parallel thinking?'

'Should have been around 200,000 right?'

'Yeah, I thought so too.'

'How do you suppose we got so much energy over the course of the night?'

'Exactly my question. Did the hut burn down in flames by any chance?'

Both of them immediately started looking outside. Unfortunately, they had to share the same vision, so they once more struggled as to who got to be in charge of it.

'Alright, let's settle it this way. We control the body every 6 hours and change seats after that, agreed?' one of them said.

'I was thinking exactly the same thing.' The other answered.

'Alright, let's rock-paper-scissor it.'

' ' Rock-Paper-Scissor ' '

'Haha, I won!!'

'Dammit,'

'Alright, sit back and enjoy the view for 6 hours,'

'Hey system, remind us to change every 6 hours we are conscious, okay?'

Affirmative

'Alright, let's name ourselves too, I will be Ning A, okay?'

'Why do you get to be Ning A? I want to be Ning A.'

'Alright, let's Rock-Paper-Scissor it too.'

' ' Ready? Rock-Paper-Scissor.' '

The Ning that was supposed to take a back seat, for now, won the battle and named himself Ning A, while the Ning that was supposed to be in control, for now, got named Ning B.

'Whatever, lemme see what's happening outside.'

He looked out of the sheath and saw that everything was normal. The girl named Freya was still cultivating and the windows were open with cool air blowing into the room.

'Hmm… did she change clothes overnight?'

'What? Did you want to watch it? Hehe

'No, I just— Shut up.'

Ning B looked outside the window and saw green trees a bit far away. He was shocked, 'Green trees? Not white? It's winter, isn't it?' As soon as he said that, he realized that the air coming through the window, while cool, was nowhere near as cold as it needed to be for it to be the winter.

'No way!'

'What does it mean?'

'System, how long were we asleep?' Ning B asked.

You were unconscious for 3 months, 11 days, and 13 hours

' ' What??!!!! ' '

Both of the Nings were shocked.

'Why would you do that system?'

'Yeah, you were supposed to wake us up in the morning, not 100 days later.'

Host's direct commands were 'Wake me up when the sun comes out'

Today is the first day the sun has come out of the clouds since winter

'But that wasn't what I meant with that.'

'Yeah, I meant for you to wake me up in the morning.'

This fault is on the host for not being clear

'Man, this system is stupid.'

'I know right. How dare it say it's our fault.'

'Yeah! How dare it.'

'So, what's the next unlock?'

'I don't know. Lemme check it. Status.'

'You just keep telling that.'

'At least say something different, goddammit.'

The two of them were surprisingly like-minded when it came to things they loved or hate. Though, it shouldn't be that surprising since they were both the same person after all.

Ning B started looking at the outside once more. He started feeling a little sad that he missed an entire 3 months of winter and snow, especially after he was so excited to see it. But, he consoled himself by saying he could see as many winters as he wanted later on.

Finally, after some time, Freya stood up from her cross-legged position and fixed her dress. After that, she walked up to her swords and carried both of the Nings outside of the door.

Sun shined brightly in the sky, giving off warm heat to everything it touched.

You have gained 100 Energy

Ning started getting notifications as soon as the sun rays fell upon the sheath he inhabited.

'Hmm… Maybe it isn't such a bad thing that we missed a hundred days after all.'

'We are finally inching closer and closer to unlocking shop. Hopefully, it is within the next 3 unlocks.'

Report chapter

The girl called Freya did nothing but go to the place with the wooden posts to train all day. There were a lot of people watching her train in the field.

'She must be really popular,' Ning A said.

'Yeah, look at all of her fans, cheering from the side,' Ning B said while looking at the different people rooting for her during her normal training.

During the training, the system notified them that it was time for them to change their control.

'Alright, you take the reign for a while,' Ning B said.

'Ah, finally I get to see whatever I want,' Ning A said.

Around late afternoon, Freya left her training to visit a building with a lot of books, where she spent nearly an hour looking through the books. In the end, she managed to find a book that she liked and got out of the building.

She returned back to her room and started reading it. Ning A was the one in charge right now, and he was curious as to what she was doing.

'You think she is reading a story?' he asked the other Ning.

'Maybe. If I was in such a boring place with nothing to do, then I would too.' Ning B replied.

The girl suddenly stood up and closed her eyes as she brought her right hand in front of her. She moved her hands a little and snowflakes started dropping from them.

'Woah! Magic.' Ning B said in shock.

'Yeah. Wait, no. Isn't this a cultivator's ability?' Ning A questioned.

'Right, has to be.' Ning B replied.

They both watched as Freya slowly started to create an ice sculpture out of the fallen snowflakes. As more and more snowflakes dropped, they gathered to form a humanoid form with a large sword.

She moved her hands a little and the ice sculpture moved out of nowhere and started swinging its blades around. This shocked both of them.

' ' A puppet? ' ' they both shouted at once.

Freya walked up to her sword, easily dodging the ice puppet that was swinging its sword around without rhyme or reason. She took the sword and took it out from its sheath and started walking back towards the ice puppet, leaving the sheath behind.

She started fighting the ice puppet in what looked like an intense battle. She dodged the puppet's attacks in what looked like impossible to them.

'Wow, she is amazing,' Ning A said.

Ning B just kept quiet and watched the fight.

After about half an hour of continuous battle, Freya lit up her sword, dealing massive damage to the ice sculpture and shattering it into countless pieces.

You have gained 3400 energy

The sound alone gave Ning a massive amount of energy. The training during the day had also provided a lot of energy, but never this big.

'She has gotten a lot stronger in the 3 months I was asleep, hasn't she?' Ning A said.

'I think so too. By the way, that magic right there

'You think we can just use her to gather energies? That should be alright, right?' Ning B said.

'Maybe. What if we went asleep once more and woke up a year later? Maybe we will have another unlock by then. That would be a much better idea, right?' Ning A said.

'Hmm… True, True. Let's do that. But, I have a question about the system first. Hey, system. Can we ever go back to being a single person again?' Ning B asked.

'That is a good question. Not being able to do what you want for 6 hours is too hard.' Ning A said.

You can use the shop for that

'The shop again?' Ning A said.

'How much further is that?' Ning B complained as well.

Please gather more energy to unlock the shop

The system gave an almost automated response to that question. Both of the Nings were used to it by now, so they didn't react to it much.

'Alright then, let's just go to sleep. It's kind of boring now.' Ning B said

'Yeah, system. Put us to sleep until we… uhh… until for 1 year?' Ning A asked.

'Hmm… no, what about 9 months. So we get to see the snow again?' Ning B said.

'Ooh, that's not a bad idea. I would love to see the snow again. Hey, system. Put us to sleep for 9 months.' Ning A said.

Confirmed

Slowly, both Ning started to wake up. 9 months had passed by, so they were expecting to have unlocked the next perk. The system had explained to them that the Omni-Directional vision meant that they had a constant vision over everything around them.

So, they were expecting to see the room they were just in around them. But what they actually saw was something totally different. It was something that could only be described as horrifying.

Numerous cries and screaming, bodies torn apart everywhere, red blood dying most of the snow in the ground.

'What is this?' Ning A said in a trembling voice.

'What the hell is this?' Ning B was also scared.

They also saw a bloodied Freya, who was now a bit older than 9 months ago. She was wearing a black sash around her robe, so she must've become someone important during their time asleep.

Thankfully, she was alive. At least for now.

Numerous notifications started ringing in their ears as the incoherent booms and clashes filled the battlefield. They quickly shut down the notifications and started focusing on the surrounding.

The first thing they noticed after that was that they were in the forests. The second thing was that there were a lot of people that were all fighting the monster-like animals in the jungle. The third thing they noticed was that the wall had been torn down by something and the hoard of monsters were entering there.

BOOM

A massive sound rang out in the sky. Both of the Nings immediately focused in the sky and saw a group of men fighting what looked like a flying tiger.

Freya moved her hand in front of her and 5 well-crafted ice puppets appeared in front of her, that started attacking the various monsters around them.

Freya on the other hand took her bloody self and little further and started fighting another animal.

Report chapter

The giant tiger in the sky roared so loudly that it shook the very ground. The booms that rang out from the fight between the many men flying in the sky and the tiger were amazing to look at with the various colored abilities getting thrown about.

On the ground, 2 of the 5 ice puppets that Freya had made had already been destroyed by the monsters they had been fighting. However, they had also managed to kill a lot of monsters as well

HUFF HUFF

Freya could barely catch a breath after she killed a monster as another one would pop up out of nowhere and she had to fight once more. Her blue clothes were dyed red with blood and it was impossible to tell which blood belonged to her and which got on her from killing a monster.

However, no matter how bloody she was, the sheath and the sword never had any blood stick to them. Blood would slip off of the sword and sheath, like it was oil on water.

Freya killed another monster. This time it was a monster that looked like a boar but with giant tusks. Another ice puppet had fallen, taking with it another dozen or so of the monsters.

She looked around and saw that there wasn't another monster coming for her, so she took a rest to get her breath back. He took a long and large breath each time she took in the air and sent it out.

Both of the Nings were both horrified and surprised at the current situation. They were horrified at how big of a disaster it was. With bodies were thrown everywhere, blood everywhere making one doubt if it even was winter any more, and the sheer sounds of cries and explosions. These were all things that Ning had never seen before, so both minds of Ning were currently horrified at this.

However, they were also surprised at how strong the girl they had stayed with for over a year was. She was singlehandedly killing dozens of monsters with herself and the ice puppets.

They were also surprised at how much Energy they were gaining from all the general chaos around them. Although the heat energy wasn't that high, the sound energy was a lot and they were happily absorbing it.

BOOM

Both Nings suddenly focused above them and saw the fight between the men and the flying tiger.

'Hmm… isn't there 1 less man up there?' Ning A asked.

'I think so, where is that guy?' Ning B asked.

They looked around the fight up above and didn't see another guy anywhere. From that, they could surmise what had happened to him. The person had either died or been critically injured and had to escape the fight.

There was also another possibility of the person either betraying the group and running away or just being a general coward and burring away. But seeing the entire village of similarly dressed people fight so bravely, giving away their lives to stop the hoard of monsters from entering the village, they let go of any thought that looked at these men in a negative light.

They didn't feel it was right to underplaying their glory by doubting them. Suddenly, another boom came from above them and they saw the tiger hit a man directly in the chest.

Although their vision wasn't the best, they clearly saw the man explode into a bunch of different pieces. He was without a doubt dead.

This was a horrifying scene that they hadn't expected to see. If they were in a human body right now, even if all the death and destruction didn't do it, that scene would definitely make them vomit.

Suddenly, they saw something moving near a tree. A monster directly came out of there. Its footsteps were hidden under the constant sound of the remaining 2 ice puppets fighting.

'Oh, no. It's behind her. We need to help her.' Ning A said.

'What do we do?' Ning B said.

'Let me in control for a bit.' Ning A said, which Ning B didn't deny.

Ning A didn't know the language of the land, but he still shouted in his own language, "Behind You". Freya was surprised at the foreign-sounding voice with a foreign language. She didn't know where it came from and immediately turned around as she got apprehensive.

The monster that was coming out stopped as it saw the girl turning around and meeting its eyes. The monster was a deer-like creature, however, instead of antlers, it was a goat horn. And instead of normal teeth, it had large sharp teeth with exceptionally large fangs.

The fur in its body was very brown and was camouflaged perfectly with the tree around it. Had it not been for Ning's shout, Freya would've most definitely fallen victim to the sneak attack of this chimera-like monster.

Freya was still out of breath, but she still got up with her sword at the ready. The ice puppets were thinning out the monsters, but there were still some and it would take a bit more time to be done with them.

Freya knew for sure that they would not be able to help her. But what worried her more was the fact that this monster was without a single doubt, the strongest monster she had fought today. Or perhaps in her entire lifetime.

She slowly brought up her sword as it started glowing slowly. Her chest heaved up and down with every single breath as she waited for the monster to make the first move.

The monster also seemed a little intelligent so it didn't directly attack and instead tested waters first. A weird-sounding growl came out of its mouth that quickly turned into a tempest of blades that shot her.

With a single wave of her sword, she turned the multitude of blades coming her way into a bunch of snowflakes. As the snowflakes fell down, she readied another of her attack and got ready to take the offensive.

However, the monster had vanished from her side. Suddenly, she felt a chill towards her right as massive fangs tried to bite her off from the side.

Report chapter

Freya immediately reacted and put her sword in between herself and the monster's fangs. Blocking it, she was sent back a few steps. The monster once more ran back. Freya didn't let it do that this time.

She used a weird technique to speed up herself and followed the monster. Suddenly, she brought two of her fingers together and they started to light up with yellow light. She then swiped along the shaft of her sword and turned the whole sword yellow.

She then targeted the monster and simply thrust her sword forward. A massive yellow energy shot out of her sword and flew at the monster. The monster however was quick to react and managed to dodge most of the attacks. The energy ended up hitting a clump of snow in the back and sending them flying in the air.

The monster took this opportunity to disappear once more. Freya got nervous and apprehensive. She started turning around, looking over her shoulders to see if she could spot the monster. She was further into the forest and the many trees helped camouflage the deer-like monster.

Suddenly, she spotted it moving through the corner of her eyes. She swung her sword right as it was coming and managed to cut open a large wound on its neck down to its chest. The monster, however, didn't stop and swung its paws right at the hand that was holding the sword.

Freya ended up losing her sword as it flew away from her hand.

Both of the Nings who were currently watching were shocked.

'No! She is going to die at this rate. She is already so wounded.' Ning A said with a bit of tremble in his voice.

Ning B just stayed quiet but he was also very worried about her at the moment.

'Isn't there anything else we can do?' Ning A started shouting.

'No. The most we can do is make another sound. But I don't think that is going to help anymore.' Ning B said with a saddened voice.

Neither of the Nings wanted to see the girl they were with for so long, dead. Maybe it was their amplified emotions that made them feel that way, or they were just being normal human beings that didn't want another human being to die. Either way, they wanted Freya to come out of this battle alive.

However, the prospects of that were looking grimmer by the moment. Fortunately, the monster was also wounded heavily now, so it was also taking really heavy breaths and its blood was dripping all over the snow, making the already red color darken by another shade.

The monster went for a final lunge at Freya who no longer had a weapon with her. In a moment of desperation, Freya took the sheath she had with her and used it as a sword. She used it to pierce right through the open wound on its neck right into the monster's wound.

The monster made a loud painful noise. Its right lungs were heavily damaged and it was huffing like a dog that was very hot. The ice puppets also happened to be done with the other monsters and were coming this way.

The monster, with its limited intelligence, saw that it was outnumbered and would die now, so it immediately turned around and ran away. It ran away with both of the Nings stuck to its chest.

'No, Where are you going you bastard? Just die.' Ning A shouted.

'Thank god she is safe,' Ning B said with a massive sigh of relief.

The monster ran a kilometer or two away and finally stopped as all the blood and oxygen loss caught up to its head. It slowly started getting drowsy and lost its consciousness, leaving its body to slowly die in the cold snow.

The Nings had turned off their notifications already, but they could still tell that they were receiving a lot of heat energy just by the hot blood around them. However, it was slowly getting colder and colder by the moment.

BOOM

Suddenly, a sonic boom appeared from above them as they saw the flying tiger running away at a very fast speed. A group of men appeared near but didn't follow any more. They seemed to have lost one more person even after that one man that had exploded into bits.

'Did that tiger lose? Did those cultivators win?' Ning A wondered.

'Has to be right. I don't see why else it would leave if it did not lose.' Ning B answered.

'Why were these monsters even here to attack? Did that tiger organize all of this? Are all of these animals intelligent by some chance?' Ning A wondered.

Suddenly, the sound of footsteps started appearing from nearby. Both Nings immediately looked in the direction of the sound and saw that a pack of wolves had appeared.

And they were greedily eying the dead monster in front of them.

'Wait, if they eat the monster and leave us here, we will never be able to leave.' Ning A said.

'Oh no, can we switch bodies with anything here?' Ning B said.

' I don't think so. It's only snow around here. Nothing else to switch our body with.' Ning A said.

The pack of wolves looked really hungry and came forward to eat at the monster. At first, they slowly nudged the monster to see if it was moving at all. After realizing that it was indeed dead by now, they started munching at it.

Bite after bite, they slowly tore away at the flesh of the monster and within minutes nothing but bones was left. Both of the Nings started to panic as to what they would do now that they no longer had someone to carry the sheath around, or any other object to switch bodies with.

After the hearty meal, one of the wolves started to howl in a loud voice. The rest of the wolves followed its lead and also howled loudly. The sound was loud enough to make both of the Nings dizzy. But, even through such a loud sound, they clearly heard the notification that popped up next.

Congratulation. You have unlocked Parasite ability

Congratulation. You have unlocked Parasite ability

' ' Huh ' ' Both of the Nings were suddenly surprised at the sudden and unexpected notification.

'Another unlock? ' Ning A said.

'Were we close to one already?' Ning B didn't hide his confusion either.

'Hey, system, What does this Parasite ability mean? Explain!!' Ning A shouted.

Parasite: Allows one to choose a living being as a host and siphon off energy from them

'Siphon off energy? Like stealing energy from the living being?' Ning A was surprised.

'No, No, before that. By host, do you mean we will be staying in the living animals?' Ning B asked.

'Oh, is parasite the body switch equivalent for living being?' Ning A thought.

Yes. You will change the body and live in a living being

However, you will not be able to control them or impact their decision making skill

'Did you hear it? We can leave now.' Ning A shouted.

'Yes! The system, does the animal has to be touching us to do this switch?' Ning B asked.

No, as long as the distance between Host and the living being is 10 meters, Host can use Parasite

'Alright, System. Use parasite on one of the wolves.' Ning A asked.

'No, use it on the leader, the one that shouted first.' Ning A immediately made another change to the order.

'Oh yeah, that would be better.' Ning A realized.

It will cost you 100,000 energy to use parasite, continue?

The cost of the transfer was so high that the cost made both of the Nings surprised and hesitant at first. But as soon as they thought about their situations for more than a few seconds, they realized that they had no choice. They could either hope for someone to come and pick up this sheath or go with the wolves.

The answer was obvious.

'Do it,' Ning A said.

'Yeah, do it fast,' Ning B chimed in as well.

Confirmed

Energy reached below threshold

Parasite ability locked until Hosts gather energy back up to the required threshold

The familiar feeling of body change washed over them as their consciousness vanished from the sword sheath and appeared in the wolf. Now that they were in the wolf, they couldn't see the wolf itself, but they could see the other wolves in the pact with their bloody faces.

'God, that looks nauseating.' Ning B said.

'Yeah, tell me about it.' Ning A shook his head in disgust. The pack of wolves started walking away, going deeper into the forest.

'Where are we going to end up this time?' Ning A questioned.

'Shouldn't we be in the same area? I remember reading that wolves usually have hunting areas that they don't change unless they are threatened by some stronger monster.' Ning B said.

'Well, looking at the monsters Freya had to fight, I would say they have pretty good reason to leave this area.' Ning A looked around and finally sighed. 'So we just move, once again. With no proper destination in mind, just going around where the wind takes us?'

'Makes me even question why I had to die in the first place. If they wanted me depressed, my previous life was doing that just fine.' Ning B said.

They stayed silent for a while. Ning B finally spoke once again, 'How do you think we unlocked so fast?'

'Maybe we were already near the unlock? Maybe the one that came before — uh, what's its name, maybe that 360 seeing unlock was unlocked ages ago, and we were just unconscious and didn't know about it. ' Ning A said.

'Did we unlock anything else aside from that?' Ning B wondered.

'Let's just check. Hey system, show us the unlocks.' Ning A ordered the system.

'Hmm… doesn't seem like we unlocked anything aside from the Omni-Directional vision when we were asleep.' Ning A said.

'It's surprising that we somehow got nearly double of what we had gotten previously, in just one blink of an eye,' Ning B said.

'I mean, that one blink lasted 9 months, but you're right.' Ning A said.

'Parasite ability… didn't system say we would siphon off the Host's energy?' Ning B asked.

'Doesn't the system call us Hosts as well? Do you think it's siphoning off our energy as well?' Ning A said.

Immediately both of them started laughing. They had the same sense of humor, so when one said something funny, the other one would always end up laughing.

'Seriously system, where is that energy you promised us?' Ning A said.

Energy notifications are off right now

'Well, turn it back on then. Let us see.' Ning A said.

A continuous stream of notifications started ringing in their head. 'Alright, stop it.' Both of them said as they winced a little at that continuous sound.

'God, at this rate, we might actually end up unlocking the next skill as well,' Ning A said.

'That reminds me. What is the next skill? Hey system, show our status.'

Suddenly, a bunch of information appeared in their mind as they saw the status.

'No… No way, right? Am I dreaming?' Ning A was surprised.

'If you are dreaming, then I am dreaming too. Although I think that is correct. Oh my god. I can't wait for it.' Ning B said excitedly.

Shop: LOCKED

The unlock next in line was the long-awaited, Shop.

Report chapter

It had been a few days since the Nings had latched onto the wolf and went along with them. When they had learned that the next unlock would be the Shop, they had been very excited. But, soon their excitement went down the drain as they realized that they had a massive problem on their hand.

The world was still filled with snow, the only thing of color in the surroundings was the brown barks of the trees or the occasional green leaves. And those were all the Nings could see as well.

Nothing else. They could not see anything else.

'What are we gonna do now?' Ning A was troubled. The problem had started small and they hadn't seen the urgency at first. But as things escalated, the problem escalated as well.

'A tree? Or maybe we wait for something to pass by?' said Ning B. He was trying his best to come up with a solution as well.

Once more they looked out into the surrounding. While they all looked the same, the Nings knew that they had come dozens if not hundreds of kilometers away from where that village with the giant wall lied.

They weren't looking at the surroundings to see what there was. They were looking at the surroundings to see what wasn't there anymore.

The wolf pack.

When they had first hopped onto the wolf leader's body, they were overjoyed seeing the constant 450 energy they were getting from it. So, they had turned off the notification and lived freely, waiting for the shop to unlock within half a day. But when the shop didn't unlock, they were confused.

They had the system reopen the notifications and found out that they were getting barely 5 energy. At first, they were really surprised and shocked as to what could have caused this. But when the system explained what was happening, they finally settled down, simply shaking their head at what was happening.

According to the system, because they used the parasite ability, they were now in a parasitic relationship with the wolf. This meant, they were the only ones gaining anything from the relationship, and the wolf, which was the host, was slowly getting weaker and weaker and even possibly dying.

And it did die. According to their calculations, the wolf had given them around 3 hundred thousand energy before dying. Since they no longer had a host, the Nings had to use the parasite ability once more to get another host. And as such, they were in the body of another wolf.

However, they soon realized that these wolves only gave 300 energy. Maybe it was because they hadn't eaten in half a day and were lacking in energy, or maybe it was because the rest of the wolves weren't as good as the pack leader who gave them 400 energy. So, when, inevitably, the wolves started dying, they only got 2 Hundred Thousand before they had to use the parasite ability that cost them a hundred thousand energy.

In the end, each wolf only net them a hundred thousand energy in increment. While that was a lot of energy, looking at the zero wolves around them, they knew they had exhausted all of their sources of energy, and even the one they were on right now would die in few minutes.

'We need to think of something fast,' said Ning B with a voice full of frustration.

'Hmm… wait for a second,' Ning A said as he thought of something. 'Hey system, do we lose energy if this wolf dies?' they asked. Until now, they had kept on changing their hosts every time one was close to dying and hadn't needed to ask the question. Now that they did, the system finally answered.

You will not disappear or lose any energy

You will stay in the corpse of the animal until you switch bodies or snatch onto another body like a parasite

However, staying long term on a corpse is not recommended as the corpse can rot and you can lose energy that way

'Oh, that's good. That means we won't have to immediately look for another body.' Ning A said with a sigh of relief.

'Yeah. And since it's the winter season, I don't think we will have to worry about the wolf rotting for quite a while,' said Ning B as he added more relief to the levity.

The wolf finally died and the Nings stopped there as well. They didn't want to waste a hundred thousand energy on a tree that couldn't move, so they instead just decided to wait for another animal to walk by. They went unconscious, asking the system to wake them up when an animal or monster came by.

They woke up immediately to the cries of dozens of birds around them. There were at least 20 birds of the same species. They had a moderately small body but seemed bloodthirsty as they flew down to the dead wolf corpse and started to bite on it.

'Oh no! We are going to lose energy.' Ning B screamed.

'System, Parasite the closest bird,' Ning A shouted.

They immediately switch consciousness from the wolf to the bird. Within minutes, they devoured the wolf, leaving only bones intact. After they were done, they started flying away.

The birds flew in a batch, and Ning knew, the same fate that took place on the wolves would take place on these birds too. As they flew along with the birds, the Nings realized that the birds were dying once a day, instead of twice a day like the wolves.

'I think it's cause they keep eating food,' said Ning A.

'Yeah, the wolves never ate anything after the first day, did they?' Ning B chimed in as well.

However, that didn't matter to them. They were just here for the energy, and these carnivorous birds could go and die for all they cared.

Suddenly, the birds flew above a span of trees, and they were shown the scenic sights of the ocean once more. Both of them sighed once more and they said at the same time.

' ' Not again. ' '

It had been about 8 days since the Nings had been leeching off of the birds' bodies. The only problem was that the birds were very small compared to the wolves and couldn't give them as much energy before dying.

Each bird provided about 50 thousand extra energy before they died off. But, they also lasted for a day so the Nings were actually gathering energy far slower than when they were in the wolves.

The birds routinely flew over the shore of the ocean looking for dead carcases of aquatic creatures. Only when they didn't find them would they fly off to find dead carcases of creatures in the forest.

They never got closer to any living animals, so the Nings never got the chance to switch bodies with something better. By now they had already resigned to their fate and were waiting for all the birds to die and fall somewhere where they could switch to another creature.

However, for them to do that, they would have to wait until the last bird died off. These birds were not only carnivorous, but they were also cannibals. Whenever a bird died off, they would feast on their own kind. The Nings felt like throwing up every time they saw. But, slowly and surely, they were getting used to deaths and corpses.

Together with the attack at the village, their time with the wolves and now with the birds, they had seen enough death that they were slowly getting calloused towards it. Soon, they knew that they would see something die before them and at that time, even with the amplified emotions, they would feel absolutely nothing about it.

Time passed once more. Now, there were only half a dozen birds or so left. The Nings were getting pretty bored now.

'Hey, can't we just switch to the trees? I hate these birds,' said Ning B as he looked at the 5 birds that were flying around him.

'Just wait. After all 6 of them die, we will have 3 hundred thousand more energy. We can easily change bodies after that. It's just better objectively,' said Ning A. Although, he was incredibly bored as well.

'Oh yeah? And what if the final bird dies somewhere, where there is no tree around? Do we switch bodies with the dirt?' said Ning B. He was a little angry at Ning A.

Ning A ignored the anger in Ning B. He could empathize with him on this matter. He too was afraid that this would happen and they would forever be stuck there, waiting as the corpse of the bird rots and they lose all of their energy.

'We will just have to wait and see,' said Ning A.

Once more, the birds did their round trip and arrived at the ocean shore. They searched around the beach looking for any washed-up carcases. The beach was very long, and it took them nearly 3 days just to go from one end to the other.

Suddenly, Ning A noticed something in the ocean. A second later Ning B noticed it as well. And it didn't take the birds long after to notice it as well. The birds were good at noticing stuff, but what was happening in the ocean didn't require amazing eyesight or anything. Even the Nings with their terrible vision could see what was happening.

To be fair, who wouldn't notice a large patch of red in the middle of the blue ocean.

'Is that blood?' Ning A said as he waited for the birds to go closer so that he could see what it was.

'I think so. But, isn't that a bit too red?' Ning B asked.

'That does kind of looks like the blood we saw on the snow though. Just a little bit diluted due to the water, I believe.' Ning A said.

'Hmm… that makes sense. Just what could've died there for it to produce such a large pool of blood?' Ning B wondered.

The birds flew closer to see if they could pick off any dead fishes or creatures in the ocean. They flew over the red patch of water and the Nings watched the furious splashes of water underneath them due to the many fishes that too had gathered to find themselves some food.

'I don't see anything dead, do you?' asked Ning A.

Ning B looked around a little and answered, 'No. I don't see anything either.'

'Just what was dead then? Or are we mistaken about something dying ?' Ning A wondered.

'Something has to have died. Why would so much red be here then? Even the fishes are here for the food.' Ning B said.

Ning A suddenly realized something. 'If there is so much red, yet there is no corpse here. That could only mean that this is— '

A gigantic mouth jumped out of the ocean, devouring the entire school of fishes that were near the red spot, including the birds up in the sky.

'— a trap.' Before he could even finish his sentence fully, the Nings had been swallowed by a gigantic fish. The Nings felt hot, acid-like substance burning the bodies of the bird they were in as they were both corroding and drowning in the stomach of the monster.

'System, quick!! Use parasite on the giant monster, or we will lose all of our energy before we know it.' Ning A shouted with urgency in his voice.

It will cost you 100,000 energy. Are you sure?

'Just f*king do it!!' Ning A shouted angrily at the system which was taking time following his orders with stupid questions. Suddenly, they felt their consciousness lurch as they shifted from the dying bird to the giant fish. Immediately, their sense of touch went from burning and corroding to the deep coldness of the ocean.

The Nings took a sigh of relief realizing they didn't end up getting torn apart in the fish's body. They looked outside at the cold nothingness of the ocean as Ning A said.

'We walked along the forest. Then we flew high, up above.'

Ning B followed, 'I guess it's time we go dive in the ocean as well.'

Report chapter

'Oh, I see lights again,' said Ning A as he looked in the waters outside.

'Hmm… oh, is it time again?' wondered Ning B as he saw the light start to shine brighter high above them.

'It's going to do it again,' said Ning A.

The fish they were leeching off of suddenly pumped out a massive sprout of blood-like red liquid from above its head. The red liquid flowed out to the water above and completely painted the surface red.

Although the liquid wasn't blood, it still smelled like one and attracted multiple fishes and birds towards it. The giant fish would wait for a while so that more fishes would gather and when there were a lot of them, it would immediately jump out of the water, devouring the lives in the entire area.

The Nings felt the many different fishes splashing about in the giant fish's stomach. However, they weren't sad at all. In fact, they were quite happy about it. A full stomach of fishes for the giant fish meant a lot of energy for them.

The giant fish's body didn't produce as much energy as they would've hoped for its size, but it still produced about a hundred thousand energy every single day.

By now, they had been in the giant fish for over a month and had been roaming the depths of the ocean, watching the giant fish kill anything in its track and eat it.

The Nings were amazed at how diverse the creatures on the seafloor were. Also, they were incredibly high in number. Even after all the deaths and preying they had seen, they were surprised at the number of fish and other aquatic animals they would see every single hour.

'How much longer?' Ning B asked in an impatient voice.

'Should be any time now,' said Ning A calmly.

'Argh… I can't wait, Status,' Ning B shouted.

[Status

Energy: 9,986,148

Task: Collect 13,852 more energy

Reward: You unlock Shop

Shop: LOCKED

After being a month in the giant fish, they were nearly done with unlocking the shop. Just a little longer and they would unlock it.

'Oh god, it's still nearly 14 thousand energy away,' Ning B said dejectedly.

'Yeah, but the fish also just ate. He will get more energy now, just wait,' said Ning A.

As time progressed forward, they felt more and more anxious about everything. The longer it went on, the slower they felt it was moving.

'How much longer??' Ning B was getting really anxious now.

'Just a little— ' before Ning A could even reply anything, a notification went off in their head.

Congratulation

The Energy System is undergoing a change

Unlock Successful

Shop has been permanently unlocked

The Nings were speechless for a second. They didn't know what to say about anything. As soon as he could speak once more, Ning A said.

'Uhh… status.'

[Status

Name: Ning Ruogong

Energy: 0

Skills: None

'…what?' the Nings were very surprised and confused. Different pieces of information were sent towards them at once and that was too much for them to handle.

'What is going on?' they tried to understand what had just happened but were failing without a single answer. 0 energy? System change? Skills? Permanent Unlocks? Checkpoint? Their speed of comprehension wasn't keeping up with how fast the questions were flying through their head.

They calmed down a little and took the problems head-on, one at a time. Ning A proceeded to question the systems about the various different things.

'System, why do I have no energy?' he asked.

All the gathered Energy has been spent to unlock SHOP

Please gather the Energies once more

'So, if I have no energies, how can I still feel, touch, smell, and sense the various different things?' he asked.

The you just before spending all the energy was saved as a checkpoint for you

Meaning, if you ever lose your energies, you won't lose your unlocks

All the unlocks you made before unlocking the shop have been permanently unlocked

When the Nings heard about this, they became incredibly happy. They had suffered back in the forest where after they used parasite on the wolf, they had spent a lot of energy, so their parasite skill was locked until their energy was back and past the unlock level for that ability.

Now, even when they had 0 energy, they didn't have to worry about losing their senses and energy. This was an incredible gift from the system.

'So, why did the system change?' Ning B asked.

You are past the initial phase of the system where your purpose was to unlock the shop

Now, the true system has been revealed to you

'True system? Does that mean everything we knew about the system before was fake?' Ning B asked while completely stupefied at the system's answer.

No

The previous system was a tutorial, meant to teach you how the system worked

Now that the shop has been unlocked, you will see the true power of the system

The Nings stayed silent. The true system was finally showing itself to them? They couldn't understand what it meant, but they started feeling a bit excited after all.

'So what happened to the tasks? Why are they replaced with the skills thingy,' Ning A asked.

The tasks were the main methods to teach you how to gather Energy

Now that you know it, the tasks are no longer required

The skills are techniques and abilities you buy from shop

'Huh? You can buy techniques and abilities from the shop?' Ning A said in surprise.

'Wait!! Is it like superpowers? Can we get superpowers using the shop?' Ning B asked.

Yes

'Oh my god,' Ning A said after hearing this. If he could become like those cultivators that flew and fought, he would be incredibly happy going forward.

'Alright, tell us right now then. What is there in the shop for us to buy then?' Ning B asked. The system simply replied.

Nothing

Nothing

The Nings got a very unexpected answer from the system.

'Huh? What do you mean by nothing? Does the shop have nothing to sell to us?' Ning A asked the system.

Correct

The Nings got more confused. The system kept hyping up the shop for over a year now, and yet when they finally unlocked it, it said there was nothing in the shop to sell them.

Ning B thought of something. 'Wait, didn't the system say that the Energy was the currency for the shop? Maybe we just don't have enough energy to buy anything.'

Ning A felt that this was a logical conclusion that anyone could come to, so he asked, 'Hey, system. Is our current energy too low to buy anything?' he asked.

Yes, Everything in the shop costs a minimum of 5000 Energy

' Oh, now we're getting somewhere,' Ning A said sighing in relief to himself.

'Thank god it's just that we have low energy. I might have had a heart attack if there was literally nothing in the shop.' Ning B sighed in relief too. Even as a form of energy, these guys talked like they were in their own bodies.

'Alright, then. Tell us, what is there in the shop for us to buy once we gain enough energy.' Ning A made sure to use the correct words so that the shop couldn't use a loophole to give them its stupid answers again.

Nothing

The system repeated the same answer.

'Hmm… again? Is there really nothing in the shop or did I say something wrong?' he wondered.

'Let me try,' said Ning B as he asked the same question using a different but simpler sentence.

'Hey, system. What exactly can we buy with the shop?' he asked.

Anything that is not energy itself

Finally, the system gave them a different answer.

Ning B sent a smug smile towards Ning A. Even without looking, Ning A could tell just how smug that smile was. He ignored Ning B and asked the system,

'What do you mean by Anything? Can you give us some examples?'

Any physical object, skill, or knowledge can be bought from the shop

Both the Nings got shocked for a second. 'Any object? Skill? Knowledge? Is there even anything else in the universe?' Ning A wondered.

'If there is, then I can't think of one,' said Ning B.

Ning A thought of something that he would want to buy. Ning B did the same thing as well.

'I want to be a human,' Ning A screamed.

'I want to control the fish,' Ning B shouted.

They immediately got angry at the other person.

'Idiot, don't you want us to have a body?' Ning A shouted at him. The cold, deepness of the ocean was too boring for him now. He had seen a lot and was now used to it.

'You are the idiotic one. What do you want to do with the body? Drown?' asked Ning B in frustration. Getting a body this deep in the ocean floor would not just drown them, but it would crush them to death as well.

Ning A fell into contemplation. Ning B was right, however, if they spent all their energy on controlling the fish, then by the time they left the ocean, they would barely have anything.

'Alright, let's call a truce. I have an idea that could work in our favor,' said Ning A. He looked very confident about it.

Ning B got curious, 'Very well. Tell me the idea and if I like it, I will call a truce as well.'

Ning A took a moment before he finally spoke, 'Let's merge.' 'What?' Ning B didn't realize what he meant at first, but when he finally did, he was stunned.

Out of all the things he thought Ning A was going to suggest, he hadn't expected that to be one of them.

But after a moment of contemplation, he thought that this was the correct idea. 'Alright, let's do it. Let's merge.' He said.

Ning A asked the system,' Hey system, we want to merge back together into one person, can we buy that?'

Personality Merge will cost you 150,000 energy. Do you want to buy it?

'Uh… maybe not merging the personality exactly, can we just get like a single mind that can think of two things at once, instead of the two thoughts having their own mind?'

Simultaneous Thinking will cost you 1,250,000 energy. Do you want to buy it?

'Oh wow, that is much expensive than we expected. What do we do now?' Ning A turned towards Ning B and asked.

'I don't know. Maybe we should just wait until we have enough energy?' said Ning B.

'We should do that. System, Is it possible for us to buy the… uhh… Simultaneous Thinking skill automatically when we reach the energy?' Ning A asked.

Would you like to put 'Simultaneous Thinking' to your Auto Buy list?

'There is such a thing?' both of the Nings got surprised. 'Can that buy it even when we are unconscious?' asked Ning A.

Yes. Auto Buy list buys everything automatically once the Energy requirements have been reached.

You can set priority for the items in the order they should be auto bought using the Auto Buy List by ordering the list in ascending order of which should be bought first

'Alright then, Add Simultaneous Thinking into the Auto Buy List. ' Ning A said.

' Simultaneous Thinking' has been added to your Auto Buy list

Would you like the set the order of the list?

The system asked even when it had a single item. 'No thanks,' said Ning A.

'Alright system. Put us to sleep now. Wake us up when 'Simultaneous Thinking' has been bought or, I don't know when this fish dies? I guess.'

Confirmed

Slowly the two Nings started losing consciousness. But even as they lost it, they realized that, unless they asked the system to split their mind into two different personalities, this was probably the last time there were going to be two different Nings.

And as they thought that, they lost consciousness.

Report chapter

Ning slowly came back to consciousness as he heard the back half of the system's response. A second ago, he had gone to sleep while there were still two of them, yet now, that should have changed.

'You there?' he asked knowing there would be no one, yet when an answer didn't arrive, he felt kinda melancholic about it.

'Who am I?' he thought. 'Am I Ning A or Ning B?' he tried to think. It didn't take him very long to come up with the answer. He was neither, and he was both.

The two halves were originally he himself, so when returned back, it would still just be him. Thanks to his brain multitasking, it didn't take him very long to realize that.

'So I got Simultaneous Thinking?' he wondered. While he could tell he was thinking fast, he still wanted visual proof. 'Status'.

[Status

Name: Ning Ruogong

Energy: 468

Skills: Simultaneous Thinking

It was there. 'So, it's considered a skill as well, huh?' he thought. He looked around the fish to see if it was still going. The fish hadn't stopped at all. 'Hey, System. How long was I asleep this time around?' he asked.

You were unconscious for 13 days, 11 hours, and 21 minutes

'Oh! That's not as long as I thought it would be. Alright then, time to do the thing I merged back together for. Let me come up with some things to buy from the shop.'

'Hmm… I certainly want to fly and do the various things a cultivator does, but I need to think of escaping from here first. Let's see what ways are there to get out of the sea…'

Ning started to brainstorm things he could buy from the shop to escape from the deep trenches of the ocean.

'Hmm… how about controlling the fish? That could certainly work' he thought. 'Ah, but there is that same problem of what to do once I control it. I can't go back to the land this way. Still, let's see how much it costs.'

'Hey, system. What is the cost of controlling this fish?' he asked.

Controlling the fish will cost 2000 Energy per minute

'Huh? Per-minute? You sell in minutes too? Do I get a wholesale discount then?' he asked jokingly.

Permanent unlocking of 'Fish Control' will cost you 26,700,000 Energy

'What? Why so expensive?' he was stunned. That was about 13,000 minutes worth of controlling the fish. He didn't need that many minutes to reach the land and leave.

'Why is it so expensive? Is it because it's permanent?' he asked.

Permanent Unlocks come with increased costs

Fish Control allows you to control all fishes you see

'Oh. That's quite a good ability then. Should I use the temporary version?' he started wondering. However, instead of thinking about what the temporary version did, he started thinking about what he would do once he had it.

'Where would I even go? I don't know the map or the directions of the sea. Controlling the fish is not a very good idea then,' he thought.

'Hmm… map… Hey, system. Can I get a map of the planet?' he asked.

Maps come in 5 types

Basic: Costs 150,000 energy

Beginner: 1,500,000 energy

Intermediate: 15,000,000 energy

Advanced: 150,000,000 energy

Omniscient: 1,500,000,000 energy

'Woah! That's a lot. Why are they in 5 different types?' asked Ning.

Maps belongs to the Knowledge category

Products in Knowledge category are sold based on the amount of information they provide

'I see. Oh god, even intermediate costs more than I have ever made. I think I will have to start with the basic map. Add the basic map to the Auto Buy List,' he ordered the system.

Confirmed. 'Basic Map' added to Auto Buy List

Would you like the set the order of the list?

'Ask me that only when there is more than a single item on that list,' Ning said as he got a little annoyed.

Confirmed

'Let's see what else can I use to get out of here… hmm' he thought for a few moments. Controlling the fish was now out of question. Jumping from one fish to another was a very nonefficient method as well.

'Can I make a human body? Can I get away with that? No right? It would be destroyed in the water. I should keep that idea for once I get off of here.' He thought.

'Flying… is a bad idea,' he felt like he was in a slump. He wasn't the most creative with skills and abilities. Little of what he knew was from the random shows that they would show in the orphanage. He didn't get to read that many books or watch the different movies and cartoons like the non-orphan kids did.

'Well, if I wasn't an orphan, then many things would've been different. I would've had parents for one. I wouldn't have to have such a mediocre childhood. Maybe I would have had a group of friends that never left me. Maybe I wouldn't have to work in that stupid zoo just to live at 18 years of age. If that never happened, I would've probably never died and would never have been teleported he— ' he suddenly stopped.

'Teleport. That's it!! Teleport. I should teleport out of here. That way I won't have to think about how to get there and can just go there,' he thought.

'Hey, system. How much does it cost me to teleport to a land,' he asked.

Teleporting will cost you energy depending on the distance and target of your teleport

'Uhh… I should probably just teleport to the shortest distance where there is a land. Where is the shortest distance?'

Shortest distance is 1247 Km and 324m away, and moving

'Moving? Ah, that's right. The fish is moving. Will be hard to guess depending on that. How much will it cost to teleport 1500 km away?'

For the fish, it will cost you 12,000,000 energy

'What do you mean, for the fish?' he asked.

You can only teleport by teleporting the object you inhabit as the target of teleport

'Urghh… I will have to come up with something then, this fish might take too much energy to teleport.'

Report chapter

'Status,' Ning said as he looked at he asked the system to bring up his current status.

[Status

Name: Ning Ruogong

Energy: 5,238,658

Skills: Simultaneous Thinking, Basic Map

'Alright. I have 5.2 million energy right now. I can do this. Believe in yourself,' Ning said to himself trying to hype himself up for what he was about to do next.

It had been nearly 2 months since he had come to being himself once more. He was still planning on teleporting somewhere, but either needed a smaller host or greater amount of energy. Since a greater amount of energy wasn't possible at the moment, he could only hope to use any smaller fishes he came by.

But even that was pretty much impossible. Most of the fishes he came by were either too small and couldn't give him enough energy to teleport, or would be eaten by big fish. There was only one way to do the teleportation he had thought of.

He would have to jump into one of the creatures the big fish ate, and then teleport to the nearest land. After that, he would have to jump to something else, since sea creatures on land didn't last very long.

To know where he was at all times, he would ask the system about the distance to the nearest land from time to time. He tried to make sense of that information using the basic map he had unlocked, but the system would either tell him he was close to just Land, or he was in the ocean.

It didn't give the ocean a name for some reason like it did to the rest of the continents.

'At least tell me what continent is closest,' he asked once more but the system remained silent. Suddenly, he saw light up above. 'Is it starting to surface?' he wondered.

Suddenly, blood-like red liquid started appearing once more. 'It is!' he started to get excited. 'System. What's the closest distance?' he asked.

Shortest distance is 1388 Km and 581m away, and moving

'Alright, should be doable,' he thought. Fishes and other aquatic animals started conversing on the red spot in the ocean where the blood-red liquid had surfaced.

Then, the fish started moving. It suddenly changed its course upwards and sped up to a very fast speed. Just as it reached the surface, it opened its mouth and swallowed all the creatures up at the surface.

Ning used all of his processing power to look for fishes that were small enough to not require that much energy, but big enough where he won't lose energy when he ends up in a precarious place.

Suddenly, he saw a small fish. It was small comparatively. The fish was still very big at about 2 meters in length, and to Ning, it was a perfect size.

'System, use parasite skill on the fish,' he ordered.

Parasite skill will cost you 100,000 energy, are you sure?

'Yes. Do it,' he said.

Confirmed

This was where he had to work fast. The familiar feeling of his body getting ripped from one object to another returned once more. As soon as his mind understood that he was in the other fish, he ordered, 'Teleport to the nearest land.'

Teleportation will cost you 4,348,000, are you sure?

'Yes,' he said.

Confirmed

Light shined all around him as his left side start to heat up. 'Is this the effect of teleportation?' he wondered. Then, he saw what was really lit up or what was really burning.

'What? It's already done?' he was surprised. He didn't feel anything happen, yet he had already teleported. The sun was shining brightly lighting up everything around him. It was midday and the sun was at the zenith, so it was heating up all the sand, making the left side of the fish very hot.

The fish started to flap around as it no longer was in the water and was starting to die. Ning didn't care however, the only thing that mattered to him was what was around him.

He looked to the ocean that was behind him and the blue water within it. He was on a beach at least a dozen miles long for sure. He looked away from the ocean and saw the vibrant green forest.

'Am I at the southern continent again?' he wondered. But then, he looked at the tree and was surprised. 'Is that a coconut tree?' there were no trees on the beach of the southern continent, so it couldn't be that.

'Hey, system. What continent are we in?' he asked.

You are in the northern continent

The system's information would've made his jaw drop if he ever had one. 'The northern continent?' that big fish brought us that far away?' he was truly shocked. He processed the information he was just given, and in half the time it would've normally taken, came up with the answer to his own question.

'Since there are only 3 continents in the Planet Kumia, the giant fish must swim around the central continent and occasionally reach the other continents.'

Central Continent, Northern Continent, and Southern Continent were the 3 continents of Planet Kumia. The Northern continent was a large landmass on the northern hemisphere, and the Southern Continent was a large landmass on the southern hemisphere.

The central continent was half split between the two hemispheres, but since it didn't go around the equator, it was only on one half of the planet, while the other half was filled with the ocean that was nameless at the moment.

The fish was still flapping about as it started to die. Ning started to worry that he would be stuck once more, but suddenly, he started hearing noises and footsteps.

'Hmm… what sort of monster is that? It sounds like it has a lot of feet,' he thought. As the sound of the footsteps finally stopped, Ning finally saw what they were. With a big smile on his imaginary face, he said, 'Humans.'

A large group of humans had just arrived at the beach.

Report chapter

Ning looked at the group of humans coming his way. They all had black skin and barely any clothes on them. 'Aboriginals?' he wondered. The group was full of men and women as all of them carried spears with them.

The men were carrying something behind their back, but Ning couldn't see it from this position. 'Should I use the parasite skill on one of these humans?' he started wondering.

The thought of the humans dying just like those birds and wolves made him want to vomit. 'No, I should just jump into one of their other objects. But what? They are barely wearing any clothes at all, and the system said weapons are a bad idea to get into, so I can't switch to their halberds either.'

As the people came closer, he started seeing them more clearly. 'Woah,' he was shocked as he saw the very well-built body of both the men and women.

"Sod dune gieny hsue," said one of the men with an unkempt beard and hair. 'Do they not take care of their facial hairs?' he wondered as he looked at all of the men and their unkempt hairs.

He looked towards the women and saw that they had silky smooth hairs, all properly tied down. 'Yeah, it's just the men being lazy,' he thought.

The man who spoke earlier came close to him and squatted to look at the fish. He seemed to have the largest body out of all the people here and seemed to be the leader of the sort. So, as soon as he squatted down near the fish, all the other people made a circle around him.

"Nsoe guwn hwle dhoen sdbe…" he started talking as he said something in a language Ning couldn't understand.

'Uhh… System, can you translate what they're saying?' he asked.

'Oh, that's right. I can do that. Show me what I can buy.' He asked.

'What the hell, why is it so expensive?' he asked in surprise. He had never even seen numbers that high in his past life.

All Language includes every language spoken in every single world in every single universe

Since it is a basic need to communicate, the system provides languages at a very cheap price

'That's cheap?' he was stunned at what the system had just said. 'Show me the status, how much energy do I have?' he ordered.

'Uhh… I need the energy to transfer later on and I don't know how much I will need it. so it might be better to just take the cheaper ones for now. Give me the beginner Klavis language,' said Ning as he ordered the system

Confirmed

"But how did a fish come so far away from the sea?" one of the women asked.

"Maybe god send it here. Maybe we blessed by the Inikaka," A man said.

"Stop speaking," the leader said, "Hyesi, take this fish and go back to the village. We will return after we are done with work here," the leader said.

A small boy, barely at the age of 12 walked out from behind the group of men and women. He was also bare-chested like all the men, and only had a small piece of cloth around his waist, hiding his privates.

'What? Are they gonna make this little kid take this giant fish back home? Are they insane?' Ning was surprised as he heard the leader man order the little kid to take the 2 meters long fish, which probably weighed somewhere around 150 kilograms in his opinion.

Yet the boy simply nodded and said, "Okay, chief. He walked up to the fish and took out his own spear. In a single thrust, he speared through the fish. And then he did something that dropped Ning's figurative jaw.

The boy easily started to pick up the fish with his spear and put it on his back. 'What? What? How is this kid so strong? Is he a cultivator as well? Is he using Qi too?' he started asking questions to which he knew the answers would never come.

However, the system surprised him this time. It actually did answer.

They are cultivators. But they do not use Qi

'Huh? Cultivator, but doesn't use Qi? What do you mean? Don't all cultivators use Qi?' he asked.

These are body cultivators

They temper their bodies to be as strong, if not stronger than people that use Qi

'Oh, can they fly and shoot fire and stuff too?' Ning asked.

No. They only cultivate their bodies, so they do not have any Qi related abilities

'Hmm… so how do they do it? How do they cultivate bodies?' he tried his luck with the question.

Please buy more information on Cultivation from the system

'Ah, there it is.' He thought. The little boy called Hyesi started walking back to where he had come from. Ning was curious to see where this group of Aboriginal-looking cultivators lived.

The boy walked out of the beach and into the forest which seemed to be mostly filled with coconut and palm trees. Finally, after a few minutes, the forest cleared and Ning saw a simplistic, yet beautiful village made up of mostly stones.

There were little kids playing around the middle of the village, men training with each other, women drying something in the sun, etc. As soon as Hyesi walked into the village, the group of kids that were running around in the middle suddenly saw him and ran in his direction.

When they reached him, one of the little girls started asking him, "Brother Hyesi, Brother Hyesi, Did you catch that fish?"

Report chapter

Ning couldn't tell what most of the children looked like, but he could see a couple of them snickering as the little girl asked the question.

"No, The leader found it on the beach, and I was made to bring it here." There was a sort of emotion in Hyesi's voice that Ning couldn't identify at first.

"See! I told you he couldn't kill such a fish. It was a leader who did that," the little girl said as she started leaving.

"Yeah, he is so weak," another kid said. Soon the kid all said something about Hyesi being weak and left.

'Weak? This guy? He picked up a fish over 100kgs in weight like it was nothing and they are calling him weak?' Ning was surprised at what the kids were saying.

Hyesi slumped his shoulders as he walked away from the center of the village. When he reached one of the stone homes, he took the fish inside and dropped it along the wall.

Ning saw that there were many other such fishes encased in some white sand-like object in the room. 'Is that salt?' he thought. He did remember reading something about salt being preservatives. Maybe that was what it was.

The boy called Hyesi started to pull on the spear to lodge it out of the fish.

'Oh no, system. Switch body with that spear right now,' he ordered.

The system does not recommend you switch bodies with a weapon

'Just do it,' he said as he was a little frustrated.

Confirmed

His consciousness shifted to the weapon that was then taken away by Hyesi as he went out of the room.

"Hey, Hyesi. Why did you return so fast? What happened to killing Fufuliki? Did the leader send you back because you were so weak?" an old man bluntly asked him. Even though the man was old, he seemed to be full of vigor and had a body as good if not better than all the men he had seen in the village.

"No. We found a fish on the beach and the leader made me bring it back. The rest of them went to kill the Fufuliki," said Hyesi. It seemed he was used to being insulted about his strength on a daily basis.

"Good. Good. We need to kill that demon as quickly as possible. Or we will start to starve to death." The old man then returned to his own thing and ignored Hyesi.

Ning listened to all of this with intense curiosity. 'Demon? Fufuliki? What are those?' he started wondering.

Hyesi then returned to a small home, made up of similar stones as all the other homes. Inside was a tall and buff, black skin woman currently doing something with a bunch of quartz-like stones.

"Hyesi? Why did you return so soon my son?" she asked and then immediately asked once more with a serious face, "You did not run from your duties, did you?"

Hyesi immediately started shaking his head, saying, "No, no, no, mother," and started explaining once more what had happened.

"I see. Alright then, go do your training. I will finish this and give this to you tomorrow," she said.

Hyesi put the spear along the side of the wall and went somewhere. Ning didn't know what to do now. He didn't want to move onto the humans, but it started to feel like he had no choice.

'Oh, what if…' he looked at the woman in front of him working with the stones. 'I'm a genius,' he thought.

'Hey system, use the parasite ability on that woman over there, and then switch body to the biggest stone in her hand,' said Ning.

Confirmed

The system didn't ask for any confirmations and immediately did what it was asked to do. Ning immediately felt his consciousness shift, then once more felt it shift again.

'Oh, god. I feel like throwing up,' he thought. Suddenly, he felt something poke at him. 'What the hell?' he looked towards the direction of what was poking him and was shocked to see that the mother was currently trying to poke a hole through the stone.

And before he could even do anything, she succeeded. 'Oh my god!! System, how much energy did I just lose?' he asked as he felt a giant wire pass through him.

You lost 12,000 energy

'That is so much. Why did you have to switch me to something that was being pierced?' he started making complaints.

This stone was the largest one as per your orders

'I— you didn't have to answer that,' Ning said as he felt hurt at so much energy being lost. 'Open status,'

'Oh, I still have more than I thought I would have.' He was surprised to see the nearly million energy he had. 'Hmm… should I buy something else?' he started to wonder.

'No, I should instead focus on leaving this place somehow, but I don't want to teleport.' He started thinking of various ways to leave, but only one idea felt like it was the best one.

'I need a human body,' he thought.

'Hey system, how much energy do you require to make a human body?' he asked.

A Human body's cost depends on the specifications

'The specifications? Like height and weight?' he asked.

More than just height and weight. The color of your skin, the color of your hair, the amount of hair you have, the age of your body, the mental processing capabilities of your body, and many more.

'Uhh… that's a bit too much for me to think about. How about for the exact body I had back on earth?' he asked.

A mediocre human body will cost you 100,000,000 energy

'Mediocre— how dare you? Also, why is it so expensive when it's mediocre? ' He questioned.

Creating mass out of energy requires a lot of energy

Do you want to add it to the Auto Buy list?

'Can I add all of those modifications you asked about before even after I get my new body?' he asked.

Yes. Any changes are possible with the system

Ning sighed in relief as he said, 'I see. That's a relief then. Add it to the Auto Buy list.'

The night was upon them all as the only light in the village was from the stars. Not even the moon was out this day.

Hyesi's mother, whose name was 'Belini', had moved out of her house and was sitting outside in the dark, continuing to make her ornaments.

She would first take a stone and rough it around the edges using nothing but her hands and then use a really thin fishbone, that was sharper than a needle to pierce through it.

It took her a lot of time to shape the stones in a preferable shape, so she still wasn't finished with it.

Ning looked away from her and into the village. Everything was the same. There was nothing but darkness.

'Is body cultivation really so good, that they don't even require light to see anymore?' he wondered. He had asked the system about it, and all it had said was that it was thanks to body cultivation.

Hyesi finally returned home, easily finding his way in the dark. 'I want night vision too.' Ning started to complain seeing everyone fine in the darkness.

He had asked the system, and it had said a ridiculous amount of price for it. Right now, he was collecting for a human body, so he decided to not waste any energy on anything else.

"Are you done for the day, son?" Belini asked Hyesi.

"Yes, mother. I am done." He replied.

Ning was surprised at how formal their talk was. 'Or maybe it's just because I have beginner-level language so I can't understand any of the internal nuances,' he wondered.

"Alright, go and sleep. Only when you sleep after a long day of work can you grow," said Belini.

Ning thought he could see the silhouette of Hyesi nod to his mother and go back in. 'Are they not going to eat? I haven't seen them eat anything?' he wondered.

There was an entire fish in the other room, yet they were going to sleep with an empty stomach. This really surprised Ning.

Belini finally finished making the ornament. It was a necklace that she made using stones and some sort of very durable thread. She put the necklace on a table and laid down on the floor outside the house and fell asleep using one of the rocks as a pillow.

'These people are monsters. Is their body so strong that they don't even need a proper bed anymore? And what if it rains? What then?' he was getting more and more dumbfounded by seeing the daily life of these tribes of people.

Ning decided to sleep too, so he ordered the system to wake him up when the mother woke up or when the sun rose tomorrow. He made sure to say 'tomorrow' since the system liked twisting his words and making his sleep forever.

Early in the morning, Ning came back to consciousness. He looked at the sky and saw that it was just before dawn. 'So, the mother is awake?'

He looked around to see that the mother was already on her feet doing some sort of funny maneuvers. It looked like exercise, but it also looked like she was dancing.

As the sun started coming up more and more, he saw that nearly everyone in the village was doing that. Even Hyesi was a little bit away from him, doing the same thing.

'What are they doing so early in the morning? Exercising or dancing?' he was really confused.

They are cultivating their body

'This is how one cultivates their body? By dancing?' he was surprised.

There are many ways to cultivate the body

The Klavians use this particular method

Slowly everyone that was doing these routines started to glow a little. Some white light started coming off of their skin.

'Are they succeeding?' he was surprised. He looked around to see that everyone was glowing a little now. The higher the sun came up to the horizon, the more they glowed.

Everyone except a single boy, Hyesi. He was still dark with no glow at all.

The sun came up higher and higher into the sky and just as it came out of the horizon, the light coming off of everyone's body peaked. As the sun came up more and more, their body's lights started dying down, until the sun was fully out of hiding and in the sky.

Everyone, including Hyesi, turned to the sun and got on their knees. They placed their foreheads on the ground and screamed in unison.

"Thank you for your blessing, O bright Inikaka."

Everyone started standing up and going back to their own things. "Come here," Belini said as she called Hyesi towards her.

She took the necklace Ning was in and put it around Hyesi. "This is something I made for you. Congratulations on living for 13 years, my son."

Hyesi looked at the dark blue stones around his neck and said, "Thank you mother, for giving birth to me."

"Come here," Belini said as she gave Hyesi a tight hug. "Ow, ow, ow. Mother, you're hurting me." Hyesi screamed.

"Inikaka's shadows boy, go train some more. You are very weak." Belini said and left Hyesi to go train.

Hyesi left towards the palm forest to train. Ning was curious to see what this training was and looked forward to it. But when he saw what it was, he was greatly disappointed.

All Hyesi did was climb up a tree and dropped on his back. Once he got up, he would once more climb up the tree and jump down on his back.

Ning sighed when he saw this. He was expecting some sort of body training regime where the young man would do push-ups, sit up, squats, and a lot of running, but all he did was climb up the tree and fall down.

Hyesi got up from the ground. He was about to stand up and climb back up the tree when he suddenly heard a voice in his ears.

"Hey boy, Do you want me to help you become stronger?"

Report chapter

"Huh?" Hyesi looked around, surprised to suddenly hear someone talking.

"Is someone there?" he said as he looked around the forest, trying to see if anyone was there. When he saw no one, he went around the back of the trees to see if one of the little kids was hiding there, teasing him because he was so weak.

Once he didn't find anyone, he just said, "Weird," and went back to climbing the tree.

"Are you listening kid? Stop climbing the tree!! I can help you get stronger," another voice came out of nowhere.

"Who's there?" Hyesi got more apprehensive and started looking around more.

"Not there, down here," Ning spoke from the necklace, directing Hyesi's attention towards himself. Hyesi looked down but didn't immediately think of the necklace as the source of the voice.

"Who are you? Where are you speaking from?" he asked.

Ning thought for a moment and said, "I am a gift from your mother to you. I live in the necklace and can make you stronger, boy."

"You live in my necklace? How…?" Hyesi couldn't believe it.

"I… " Ning quickly thought for a bit and immediately responded," am your friend, your guardian, your god!!" Ning immediately started cringing at himself for saying such ridiculous things.

Hyesi, however, believed it immediately. "You are a god? Are you… Inikaka?" asked Hyesi, with a face full of innocent surprise.

"Ini… kaka? Uhh… yea… yeah, yeah. That is I," Ning started to lie.

Hyesi immediately got onto his knees, head on the ground, and started crying, "O great and bright Inikaka, please help your powerless child. Please help me get stronger."

Ning was surprised at how quickly Hyesi accepted the fact that he was a god. 'Inikaka… wasn't that what they worshipped this morning? Is that what he thinks I am?' he wondered.

"Get up child, I cannot help you get stronger," Ning said, which made Hyesi immediately lose all hope.

"However, I can give you the ability to get stronger in exchange for you doing something of your own." Ning was currently in a very small stone, so the amount of energy he lost from speaking was very low.

Thus he spoke to Hyesi as if there was no end.

"I have to do something?" Hyesi asked confused.

"Yes. Do what I say and I can give you the power to get stronger." Ning replied.

"Yes, Please tell me what I have to do." Hyesi pleaded for some answers.

"Uhh… for now, sit down and meditate until I tell you what to do," Ning said and went silent.

Hyesi did as Ning asked and sat down on the sand, next to a palm tree, and started meditating. He had just seen a ray of hope and fully did whatever was required to make that ray brighter.

'Geez, that kid is quite gullible. I had expected I would have to lie a bit more, but just saying that I am ina… iniki… whatever it was, he immediately accepted it.'

'Alright, system. Can you tell me what is wrong with this boy? Why is he considered weak among the villagers here?' Ning asked the system.

His entire plan depended on him having enough energy to get information from the system and was hoping the system did not disappoint him.

Please buy the information from the Shop

'I know. Show me the information I can buy,' Ning said annoyed at the system.

Here are the information you can buy

Beginner: 5,000 Energy

Intermediate: 50,000 Energy

Advanced: 500,000 Energy

Omniscient: 5,000,000 Energy

'Hmm... Where is basic?' Ning asked.

Since the lowest cost is 5,000. Only items at that price or above are shown

Ning didn't even hesitate as he said, "Give me the intermediate one." A bunch of knowledge transferred into his mind as he learned what was wrong with Hyesi.

'I see,' he thought.

The cultivation technique that Hyesi and the rest of the villagers used was called the 'Sun God's Morning Cleansing technique'. Every morning, they would have to perform a series of prepare their bodies to take on the first sunlight of the day.

They would use the time between the sun first pops out until it's fully out to cleanse the villager's body and it helped them get stronger. All of the villagers got a varying level of strength from doing this every day, but none of them were ever as weak as Hyesi.

That was because of Hyesi's body itself. The Sun God's Morning Cleansing Technique used the Yang energy of the sun to cleanse everyone's body. Hyesi's body, however, was mostly of Yin Constitution. Meaning, every night, his body would gather Yin within him and when he used the cleansing technique, most of it would be lost due to the Yin and Yang canceling themselves.

While the remaining yang energy was barely enough to make him as strong as he is.

'So, if I can somehow take out the Yin energy from his body every night before the sun comes up, he can do it, right?' he asked the system with no answer.

'Hey system, how can I get rid of the Yin energy?' he asked.

There are multiple ways

Introduce yang energy of your own to cancel out the yin energy

Teach the kid a technique to get rid of the Yin energy himself

Absorb the yin energy yourself and convert it into your own energy

'Hmm… The first one just doesn't make sense for me to do. I don't think wasting my own energy is the way to go here. The second one looks like it's the best one for the kid, however, hehehe… I'm not doing it for the kid.'

'System, show me how I can absorb the yin energy?' he asked the system.

You can buy the 'Yin to heat conversion technique' for 22,000,000 energy or 'Yin to sound conversion technique' for 20,000,000 energy

'Hmm… sound doesn't work as well since I don't want to wake people up overnight. That means I will have to go with heat conversion. That will cost me a lot of energy, which I don't have right now.'

'Guess it's time for the kid to do his part of the deal.'

Report chapter

Hyesi was still sitting on the sand with his eyes closed, meditating as per his god's orders. He didn't know how long he would have to wait before his god started giving him orders, but he would wait without question. After a little while, he finally heard his god's voice again.

"Hyesi, It is time. Do what I say and I will give you the strength you so wish for." Ning had finally learned what he had to do and was going to use Hyesi to benefit himself.

"What is it, O great and bright, Inikaka? This child of yours will do whatever it is that you want me to do." Hyesi immediately replied with absolutely no hesitation. In his mind, he had absolutely accepted Ning as his god.

"Yes. I know what problem you have. I know why you are so weak, to remove those weaknesses, I will require your assistance. As my loyal follower, will you do what I ask?" Ning asked.

"Yes, Inikaka. Just give me the orders." Hyesi was ready to do anything.

"Okay, then…" Ning turned around to look around the forest. He didn't see any trees that could have wood that could be burned. 'Guess I will have to work with dried-up leaves and coconut shells,' he thought.

"Go and collect all of those dried leaves and those coconut shells and bring them to a secure location where nobody would come to," Ning ordered him.

Hyesi did exactly as ordered and started collecting all the dried-up leaves and coconut shells. There were way too many of them and Hyesi easily collected them.

He took them all to a secure location near a beach on the other side of the island. He dropped everything on the beach and asked,

"Is that what you want, bright Inikaka?"

Ning looked at the materials down below and thought a bit. 'Hmm… maybe it will be better to get more so I can keep the flames going on for longer,' he thought.

"This is nearly not enough. I will require much more than this. Gather a lot more." Ning ordered.

Hyesi went back to the forest to gather some more of the materials. Thankfully, there were just too many of them, and Hyesi didn't have to make many long trips to increase the size of the materials.

Once all of this was gathered, Ning finally said, "Good Job, now the real fun part begins." Hyesi waited for his god's orders for a while before he heard,

"Alright, now make some fire."

Hyesi got a little confused at that part. Ning looked at him and his confused face. A little nervous, he decided to ask, "What? Do you not know what fire is?" he hoped that the aboriginals didn't know what fire was.

'Thinking back now, they didn't even light anything yesterday. Do they really not know what fire is?' he started to get worried.

"I do know fire is, bright Inikaka. But why would you require me to make fire for you? Aren't you the god of light and fire yourself?" Hyesi asked.

Hearing the question, Ning immediately got scared. 'Have I been caught? Sh*t.' He slowly turned to look at Hyesi again and sighed with relief when he realized his face only had confusion and no traces of suspicion.

"Yes, Yes. I am, but I do not want to do it. So, do it yourself," Ning said.

"Please show your child your powers, great Inikaka. I want to see your power." Hyesi immediately got on his knees and started bowing with his head on the ground.

'Uhh… dammit.'

"Alright, pile up a little of those leaves in a place," Ning ordered.

Hyesi immediately got to work. He started to separate a little of the materials from the pile and put it in a small half a meter deep hole be dug with his arms.

"It is done, bright Inikaka. Please burn it now to show your child some of your powers."

'Goddammit, what did I get myself into?' Ning started to complain.

'System, can you help me make flames?' he asked.

You can buy the ability to create fire from the shop

'Uhh… how much does it cost? Show me the lowest one.'

Candle Fire: 5,000 Energy

'Urghh… I guess that's not too bad. Alright, buy it. '

Candle Fire has been successfully bought

Ning checked his system and Candle Fire was there as a technique. 'Okay, now I do I use it, system?' he asked.

You can create a candle fire up to 2 meters away from you with just a thought

Every second of candle fire costs you 500 energy

You will not gain any energy from the heat produced directly by your fire

'Alright then.'

"Lower yourself a little, Hyesi," Ning ordered. Hyesi dropped himself to the ground and waited for his god to do something.

'A thought, huh.' Ning prepared himself and imagined a fire burning on top of the pile of leaves. Suddenly, a small tongue of fire appeared above the pile of leaves and it started burning it.

Ning immediately stopped his Candle Fire, but the rest of the fire kept on burning.

"You are so powerful, great Inikaka." Hyesi was awed. This was the first time he had seen magical ability from what Ning could see.

'Poor child. He doesn't even know magic exists.' Ning started to pity Hyesi's ignorance.

"Alright now. Put the necklace in the fire and add a little more fuel in it." Ning ordered Hyesi, as he got himself ready to be thrown into the fire.

'I should gain a lot of energy from this right?' he wondered.

"I cannot do that, bright Inikaka. This is a gift from my mother. I cannot sully her by throwing her gift into the fire like that. As someone who was given birth by her, that would be very disrespectful," Hyesi seemed adamant on not throwing his necklace into the fire, and it didn't seem like Ning could persuade him to do so either.

'Sh*t. I might have to come up with another idea then.'

Report chapter

Ning tried to think of something since Hyesi refused to throw his necklace into the fire.

"Okay, how about this then. Search for a giant stone somewhere, and bring it back to the fire." Ning decided to use an alternative method. Hyesi complied and ran off along the beach to start finding giant rocks.

"Does this work, bright Inikaka?" he asked holding a stone about double the size of his palms. Ning looked at the childish palms holding the average-looking stones.

"Try and see if there are bigger ones. The bigger the better." Now that he was forced to search for new rock, he decided to use one that had the most surface area, so that it could gather the most heat.

Hyesi searched around for a few more minutes before he found a rock that satisfied Ning. "What should I do now, bright Inikaka?"

"Bring it back to the site where the fire is," Ning said. Hyesi practically ran off and reached the fire within a minute. "We are here, Inikaka. What should I do now?"

Ning thought for a moment and said, "Let me bless that rock and give it my powers. Touch that rock with your necklace."

Hyesi complied and brought the stone to his chest, slowly touching it to his necklace.

'Give me full authority to use the body switch whenever I want to, system,' Ning ordered and waited for the system's affirmation.

You have always had this ability

'What? Why did you make me ask every time then?' Ning got unusually annoyed.

The system never said you had to ask

You did that yourself

'Whatever. How do I use it then? Is it like the Candle Fire?' he asked.

Yes

'Alright then. Think of yourself as jumping into that stone.' He started to visualize it and within a split second, he felt his consciousness shifting.

'I did it!' he shouted internally. He wanted to make an external shout as well but decided against it.

"Alright, lower this rock into that pit of fire now." He waited for Hyesi to respond after commanding him.

Hyesi did as asked and placed the rock into the fire.

'Ah… YES. Finally. Finally, I can get energy whenever I want. Hey system, show me the energy values per second.'

Confirmed

You have gained 150 energy

You have gained 150 energy

You have gained 150 energy

You have gained 150 energy

'Stop,' Ning said as the energy intake continued to flow in.

'System, what is going on? Why am I taking in so less energy?' he asked.

The rock is only surrounded in a small area with actual flames

Most of the flames are just going away with the heated wind.

'What? That's bullsh*t. How long will it take me then?' he started to count the numbers in his head.

At 150 energy every second, he would get 9000 energy every minute. Which wasn't very bad. If he could keep it up, he could gain 560,000 energy in an hour.

'Well, that's not really bad I guess. "Hyesi, look after the flame and add more of those dried leaves when it's starting to burn away, okay?"

Hyesi got alert as soon as he heard it. "I understand, O bright Inikaka." He immediately got to work. Every time the fire would get low, he would add more dried leaves and coconut shells from the pile.

Ning, however, didn't see any of it. 'System, wake me up when the fire stops burning here, okay?'

confirmed

Ning went unconscious. When he got back to consciousness, he didn't know how long of a time had passed.

'The system didn't play a trick on me and kept me sleeping for months on end again, did it?' he thought. 'Nah, no way.'

'Huh? That's more energy than what I would've imagined, but somehow, I'm still disappointed,' Ning said as he looked at the status.

'At this rate, it will take me … uhh… 6 days to get the 22 million energy.' Ning sighed at the thought of having to do this every day for 6 more days.

'System, how long was I out this time?' he asked.

You were unconscious for 3 hours and 34 minutes

'That's … a surprisingly normal amount you've said for the first time, system. But, wait a second. How did I get 2.5 million energy in 3 and a half hours? Shouldn't it have been 5 hours?' he asked.

You gained 2.5 million energy in 2 hours and 12 minutes

'Huh? It didn't even require that long? What is going on?' Ning asked as he was greatly confused.

You've discovered daily caps

You can earn maximum energy of 2.5 million every 24 hours

You will have to wait 24 hours after reaching your cap to gain more energy

'What? Why didn't you tell me this before?' asked Ning, rightfully frustrated.

You have never received this much energy in a single day

'Has it always been here then?' he asked.

Yes

It was kept unknown until the first day you gathered over 2.5 million in 24 hours

You can increase the cap through the shop

'Well, Sh*t. Guess I have nothing to do for another day then.' He looked around and saw Hyesi just standing there looking at the now extinguished fire.

"Kid, put your necklace on top of this rock." He needed to go back into the necklace. Hyesi did as asked and took off his necklace and put it on top of the very hot rock. Apparently, he didn't care much for the heat.

Ning switched bodies on his own, without any help from the system. He was getting used to it.

"Alright, you did well for today. You will have to do this for a week and I can make you strong after that." Ning felt bad having to make the kid wait for another week before helping him.

"Go do whatever you have to for now."

After hearing Ning's orders, Hyesi went back to climbing up the tree and falling down to make his body stronger. Ning just sighed as he watched the kid do that.

"What are you trying to do kid?" he couldn't help but ask.

"Oh, Inikaka, I'm trying to jump up and down the tree so that I can be stronger." Hyesi's answer made no sense to Ning. So, he decided to ask,

"And what does that do? Does jumping up and down the tree make you stronger?"

"Yes. Only when a klavian is able to not feel any pain from falling down from the top of a tree are they considered to have become strong. So, I have been climbing up and down so I can not feel any pain at all."

Ning was surprised at that answer, "Oh, and is it working? Are you getting stronger?"

"Yes," Hyesi said with a smile. He seemed to be pretty happy with the result. Ning was even more surprised to hear that such an idiotic method was working.

"Wait, are you really getting stronger? Can you now hit harder or carry more weight?" Ning decided to ask.

"Well, Inikaka, not really. I am getting stronger but I cannot do those things yet. Maybe it will come to me soon." Hyesi said as he got gloomy again.

"They why do you say you are getting stronger?"

Hyesi thought for a moment and answered, "Ever since I learned that you are strong only when you don't feel pain after falling from the top of the tree, I have been doing that every day. Although it used to hurt a lot at first, slowly I have been able to feel less and less pain. The more I fall, the less pain I feel. So I should be getting stronger right?"

Ning was silent for a moment. 'Holy Sh*t! This kid has fallen so much that he is already getting numb to the pain.'

"How long have you been doing this for?" he asked.

Hyesi counted the days and answered, "About halfway between my last day of birth and today."

'Halfway? So six months? This kid has been doing this for six months huh. Poor kid, not even the villagers tell him what to do.'

"Alright, I will teach you a faster way to get stronger. Do what I say and you will get strong."

"Yes, Inikaka." Hyesi would obey every single one of his god's words.

For the entire day, Ning made Hyesi do multiple different exercises. He made him squat a few hundred times, push up for another few hundred times. Same with sit-ups.

He also made him run straight through the forest from one end of the island to the other. The distance that Hyesi ran was about 2-3 kilometers in length. After learning from Hyesi that the island was circular in shape, he could finally envision exactly how big the island was.

Instead of running through the middle, Ning made Hyesi run around the beach now. Hyesi was doing that when he saw a few figures far away. He immediately ran towards there.

'Who are they?' Ning thought as he saw the people from far away too.

"Chief, everyone, are you people fine?" Hyesi asked as soon as he reached the people.

'Chief?' Ning finally recognized who these people were. He had only seen a glimpse before he was taken away, but he remembered the leader of the group that found him.

He looked at the disheveled faces of everyone in the group. 'Why do they look like they went through a war? Didn't they just come here to fish?' Ning thought as he looked at the nets and spears the members of the group were holding.

'Oh right, they were talking about killing something back in the village? Is that what they fought?' Ning looked around the beach looking for corpses but saw none.

'Where is their target?' he wondered. In his mind, the people here were super strong and could kill anything that they wanted to.

"Oh, why are you here, Hyesi?" one of the ladies asked.

"I was trying to become stronger by running around the beach," Hyesi said. If Ning hadn't told him to not talk about him when Hyesi first ran through the forest, he might have revealed it just now.

"Go back, boy. The demon can come back at any moment now. We were lucky we sent you back yesterday. Otherwise, You, with your weak body, would've surely died today." The chief started speaking as soon as he saw Hyesi.

Hyesi's eyes turned wild. " You people fought Fufuliki?" he asked.

"Yes. We met the demon and fought with it. However, we were wrong. The demon has grown and become much stronger than we had expected him to be. And his enchantments have gotten even stronger."

"At this rate, we might have to return empty-handed as well," the chief said.

BOOM

Suddenly, a sound rang out from the ocean.

"Run!!" the chief shouted at Hyesi. Hyesi didn't waste a moment. He knew he was weak and so, the moment the chief shouted, he ran.

Ning only got to see a column of water shoot out from the ocean as something popped out from underneath. But because Hyesi turned his back towards the ocean, he could no longer see anything.

Within a few minutes, Hyesi returned back home. The people in the village saw him running frantically, and asked him what was going on. All Hyesi could say was what the chief had told him.

When the people heard that the demon named Fufuliki was stronger than they had imagined, they started to get worried. Belini came to Hyesi and hugged him

"It's okay, son. You did well running away. If the demon is strong, then you would've only been a hamper at best or died at worst." Belini tried to comfort Hyesi, but that just seemed like an insult to him.

"I promise mother. I will get stronger than I am currently, and I will surely kill the demon Fufuliki."

Late at night, Hyesi was staying outside of his stone house with his mother. Ning was still wondering why they weren't eating any of the food there.

'Do body cultivators not really require food at all?' he was still quite affected by this piece of thought. He couldn't imagine what it would be like to live without eating anything.

'Oh wait…. Hahaha. Aren't I doing the same thing?' he started laughing in his head. He looked around the village. And although he couldn't see anything at night, today had some moonlight and wasn't completely dark like yesterday.

He saw all the villagers, some 40 people, sit outside the dozen or so houses. Although he couldn't see any children, so they must've been asleep by now. After all, they had to wake up before sunrise to do their daily cultivation.

Suddenly, a bunch of footsteps sounds from far away. Many people straggled along the forest, entering the village.

"Lord Ikinaka, are you guys okay? We heard what Hyesi said. Is it true that Fufuliki is much stronger than we thought?" An old man started speaking the moment the group of people entered the forest.

"Inikaka had mercy on us that we lost none of you," said a middle aged woman, who stood up and walked up to the leader and gave him a hug.

"Don't worry my light, We will never die to that demon." The leader reassured, who Ning assumed, was his wife. "Let the people settle, we will talk later. Also, cook a fish for today. The people are tired and hungry from their fight with the demon."

A woman stood up and immediately walked up to the storeroom where the fishes were kept and brought out one of the fish that was encased in salt.

Someone lit a fire using a few stones and dried leaves and they hung the fish directly on top of the flame. Ning looked at Hyesi, a little annoyed that he made him learn Candle Fire when making flames was so easy for the villagers.

'I'm gonna make him work way more tomorrow,' he thought. After the fish was cooked, it was first served to the leader, then to the people who fought and then to the rest of the villagers. They enjoyed the meal and went to sleep.

Similar to yesterday, everyone woke up early in the morning to do the same routine. They would perform some sort of dance preparing for the sun to rise, and after it was done rising above the horizon, they would stop.

This time, Ning understood what was going on.

'System, if these people are succeeding in cultivating their bodies, does it mean that their body produces no Yin?' he asked.

Please buy the information from shop

'Sigh. How much does the basic yin and yang bodies explanation cost?' he asked.

Basic Yin and Yang body knowledge costs 45,000 Energy

'Ummm… I can get that easily. Buy it.' Ning suddenly knew that there was information in his head as if he knew them all along.

Most people were born with a body that produced both Yin and Yang. These people's Yin and Yang canceled each other out and they remained with a normal body.

Some people, however, were born with bodies that produced one in excess over the other.

In the case of some people, they produced more Yin, which destroyed all the yang in their body, leaving them with a Yin Constitution. These people don't succeed in the cultivation method of the Klavians.

Hyesi was one of these.

On the other hand, there were also people born with excess Yang, which destroyed all of the Yin in their body, leaving them with only Yang.

'Wait, do these people succeed the most? Hey system, What body type helps the Klavians the most?' he asked the system.

Please buy the answer from shop

'Even for this?' he proceeded to buy the advanced knowledge which cost him 20,000 Energy.

'Huh? So Yang Constitutions are bad as well?' he was shocked to learn that since their bodies were already accustomed to yang, they didn't get as much benefit from the cultivation method.

The only people who got the most benefit were people with neither Yang Qi nor Yin Qi.

Days started passing by. In just a few minutes, Ning's cooldown for gaining more energy would be off of the 24 hours cooldown. He happily waited for that with Hyesi who seemed a little distracted.

"What's wrong?" Ning asked.

"No-nothing. I'm fine," Hyesi replied in the most obvious manner.

"Tell me what you're thinking?" Ning asked.

"Bright Inikaka, you told me you would give me strength in 6 days, yet it has already been 7 days. I am started to doubt your words now." Due to Ning's 24 hour penalty, he wasn't able to do the same task starting at the same time the next day.

So, inevitably, it had been pushed back a few days, since most of the time, the fire burned till the night, and Hyesi had to return home by then.

"It's okay. I just… uh… I overestimated how good you were. But you were really weak so I had to increase your tasks by a few more days."

Hyesi started to get gloomy when he heard that. Everyone called him weak in the village and now even his own god was starting to do so.

Ning saw his gloomy face and immediately spoke, "That does not mean you will forever remain weak, however. I will make you stronger starting tomorrow morning. Count on your god's words."

Hyesi's face returned back to normal. "Yes, bright Inikaka." He proceeded to do the task that he had been accustomed to for the last 8 days.

Ning however, opened his status to check how close he was. 'Status'

Ning smiled as he saw that he had less than 2 million energy required to reach the 22 million to unlock the Yin to heat transformation skill.

"Here we go Hyesi. Starting tomorrow, you will start getting ridiculously strong."

Ning woke up from his 'sleep' as the fire around his died down. He looked around and only saw ashes remaining from the leaves that Hyesi had put on him.

'Did I reach it?' he wondered. 'Status'

"YES, I did it," he shouted out of the stone inside the fire hole. "Inikaka?," Hyesi came to his side, with his necklace already in his hand.

"Uhh… I mean, WE did it. Good job Hyesi, Now you will become strong starting today."

Hyesi's eyes turned wide when he heard this. "You are not lying, are you, Inikaka?" he asked.

"Of course not. Have I ever lied to you? Look at everything I have made you do. Doing up and down, running around, picking up rocks. Hasn't that made you strong?" Ning sounded as if Hyesi had just said something very offensive.

"That is true, Inikaka. I feel like I have become much stronger. Yes, I will believe you then." Hyesi let go of any doubt he had.

"Good," Ning said with annoyance in his voice as he quickly switched to Hyesi's necklace.

On the inside, however, he was feeling different. 'Holy hell, this kid doubts a lot. System, give me that ability now.'

Do you wish to purchase 'Yin to Heat conversion' skill for 22,000,000 Energy?

'Yes, buy it.'

Confirmed

Ning felt like something was added to his head. 'Status,' He opened his status again.

'Well, I don't have that much energy remaining. I will have to find a way to get stronger faster.' He started thinking of ways to gain energy, besides the obvious 'burn in the fire' method.

'Oh, that's right. I can increase the cap perhaps? System, tell me, how can I increase the cap of energy I can gain in a day?'

You can buy increased cap from the shop

'Oh, right. You mentioned that. Show me the shop then.'

Double the Cap with 25 million Heat Energy

Double the cap with 25 million Sound Energy

Other sources of energy not unlocked

'Huh? Heat energy and Sound energy? Why are the energy type separated, system?' he asked.

Increase of energy gain cap can only be bought with specific energy type

'Oh, and how much of each energy type of energy do I have?' he asked.

Please buy the Separated Energy tab from the shop

'Huh? You can't tell me? And how much is that gonna cost me?' he asked.

Separated Energy tab can be purchased for 10 million energy

'Goddammit system, You suck. Now you're going to tell me that I need to buy that before I can increase the energy gain cap, aren't you?' he asked.

You do not need to buy the Separated Energy tab to use the separate energies

You only need it to view how much you have at the moment

'Oh thank god. Alright, now that I have this technique, I should start helping this kid. I wonder if I just have to use it like the Candle Fire. By the way system, are there any limitations to this technique? Actually, how does his skill work?' he asked.

The skill has an area of 5 meters, inside which you can swallow all the Yin in the surrounding to yourself and turn them to heat energy

Heat energy that is not swallowed will return to Yin energy

It will not cost you energy to use this skill, but will increase your mental fatigue

'Hmm… doesn't sound too bad.' He decided to use it immediately. "Kid, stop there. I will do something to your body that will make you stronger starting tomorrow morning."

Excitement appeared on Hyesi's face. He couldn't keep his emotions as he asked, "Ri- Right now, Inikaka?"

"Yes, sit down and let me start." Hyesi immediately complied as he sat down on the sand and waited for whatever his god was going to do.

Ning on the other hand imagined himself taking a deep breath and activated the technique.

"Mmm…" Hyesi sounded. He had seemingly felt something moving in his body. Ning couldn't see anything, but he could feel a sort of very unnatural coldness on his body. It didn't seem like the coldness of a low temperature, but something else entirely.

'Is this Yin?' Ning wondered. Suddenly, the coldness started to turn into heat. This was the genuine and natural heat that he was used to. As he kept gathering the Yin, the heat increased as well.

Since the heat was all concentrated on the stone in the necklace he inhabited, Hyesi started to feel the heat too. He started to feel uncomfortable. Even he, who could touch a stone that was burning for hours on end as if it was barely hot, was starting to have problems with the heat.

Then, Ning felt that the energy he was gathering had stopped, so he stopped as well. Suddenly, all the heat energy he had gathered immediately turned back to normal yin again.

Some even traveled back to Hyesi, making him feel uncomfortable. When Ning finally realized what had happened, he started shouting,

'Stupid!! Stupid!. How could I forget that I was already capped for today? I can't absorb any more energy. Ah, god I'm so stupid. Sigh, I will have to tell that kid some other lie now.'

"Hyesi, are you alright?" he asked.

"Bright Inikaka… I… You... You finally showed this child of yours your true strength, didn't you? That fire burning in my chest just now, that was your true power wasn't it?" Hyesi said with the utmost reverence.

Ning was shocked for a while but then realized what had happened when he heard the word 'fire burning in the chest'. ' Ah shit, did I hurt the kind?' he thought.

He waited for a moment for Hyesi to finish praising him and then said, " Yes. That was my power. In fact, that was just a hint at what I could do. "

"Just wait until tomorrow morning to see my real power. I will show you just how strong you can be with my assistance."

Report chapter

'Today is not gonna work either, is it?' he wondered. He would have to wait until late into the day for his Yin to Heat conversion technique to work.

It was just before the dawn right now and Hyesi and his mother had already awoken. Ning was also awoken by the system at the same time. Since he couldn't absorb any energy, he felt really bored and had gone to sleep.

Slowly, more and more of the villagers started to wake up, ready to cultivate as more and more light started arising from the horizon.

Everyone started doing their daily routine waiting for the first light of the day to arrive. Ning got to working on his own thing.

'It will be up any minutes now,' he thought as he looked at the horizon and realized that the sun would be up at any minute now.

He started concentrating and used the technique. A sudden unnatural coldness started to converge on the stone that he inhabited. All yin from a 5 meter radius was now on him.

This meant that everyone close to Hyesi had their Yin energy taken out of them.

The sun slowly started rising from the east. Just then, all the yin energy that Ning had collected also started to turn to heat energy, staying around the stone in the necklace.

Yang energy came from the sun and started washing over the bodies of the different people in the village. Hyesi shuddered a little as he felt the most impact from the pure yang energy.

The pain on the outside let him know that his god was looking after him, while the pain inside of him told him that his god was also helping him from the inside.

He felt a sudden surge of strength as the yang energy finally finished cleansing his body. He abruptly opened his eyes as coldness tried to enter him after his god was done blessing his body.

Ning had stopped using the technique as the mental fatigue from it was starting to catch up to him. 'Oh god that is so hard to keep up. You do all that to collect the Yin, turning it into heat, and in the end, it doesn't even matter.'

The heat around him had already gone back to being Yin. Some of it disappeared in the atmosphere, while some tried to enter the closest body without the sunlight in it, Hyesi.

Hyesi shuddered as some managed to get inside him, while some remained outside. He balanced himself and got down on his knees, like everybody else, to pray and thank the sun god, Inikaka.

Hyesi walked into the forest like everyday, and started to reflexively pick up the dried leaves.

"What are you doing?" Ning asked.

"Picking up the dried leaves for your fire, Inikaka."

"Oh, you won't need to do that anymore. I will let you know if I require it again. For today, you are free to do whatever you want. Although, tell me, Did that work? Did I help you or not?" Ning was genuinely curious.

"I think so, Inikaka. I feel like you have helped me tremendously," Hyesi said as he made a fist, feeling the power within.

"Good, Good," Ning said, "We keep doing this for a while an you will be incredibly strong. You will surpass your mother in no time." Ning tried to hype up Hyesi.

'Although, that might not happen. Given that his mother is always within 5 meters of him during the morning cultivation, she might end up becoming the strongest at this rate. He will never get to be the man of the house. Speaking of which…'

"Hey, Hyesi. I haven't seen your father around. Where is he?" Ning decided to ask.

"My father? I heard he died in a fishing accident when I was young," said Hyesi.

"Oh, how did he die in a fishing accident?" Ning asked. 'Aren't most people here super tough? What sort of fishing accident kills them?' he wondered.

"Apparently, my father always had a weak body, even weaker than mine and one day he ended up having to fight a giant fish near the ocean and was taken down by the fish. I was around 2 years old when this happened."

"Hmm…" Ning got curious, "and your grandfather?" he asked.

"Mother's father is still alive, in the village. But my father's father was dead before I was even born. They say he too was weak. In fact, in my entire lineage, despite being very weak, I am the strongest," Hyesi seemed both proud and sad while saying that.

' Everyone in the male side of the family weak? Is this a hereditary case of Yin Constitution?' he wondered. "Don't worry, You won't be weak anymore."

Ning just made Hyesi do normal, for the Klavians at least, exercises. He didn't bother absorbing any energy as he wanted to do that tomorrow morning.

The day quickly went by and night came. Since they came back, the leader's group hadn't left again. Although, they seemed to be making plans to attack the demon in the water once more.

Night went by as well and morning arrived before anyone knew. Hyesi woke up from his sleep. So did Ning. The villagers started to slowly gather outside their homes, ready to perform the morning routines. Even the children were awake.

As the sun started to let them know it was coming, the Klavians proceeded to do their morning cultivation. Slowly their body started to glow.

'Now is a good time,' Ning thought as he activated his Yin to Heat conversion technique. Slowly, Yin started gathering around him, turning into heat.

You have gained 23,000 Energy

You have gained 23,000 Energy

The mental stress from the technique today was far worse than anything he had felt during the last two times. 'Is it because I am actually absorbing the heat?' he wondered.

Before the sun even rose up, he hit the Cap. The sun finally rose up after a few minutes and the energy washed over everyone's body. Hyesi felt his strength increase once more.

Report chapter

'Ah!! I didn't manage to do it in time.' Ning lamented as he watched the sunrise above the horizon. It had been over 10 days since he started absorbing the Yin energy as heat.

Every time he used his Yin to Heat conversion technique, he would spend a few minutes to reach the energy cap for the day. Starting with the time he reached the cap, he would then have a 24 hours period where he couldn't absorb anything else.

After 10 days of continuous conversion and absorption, he had reached a moment in time where the 24 hours weren't over even though the sun was already up.

The group of people started to kneel down on their knees and pray to their god in the sky. Hyesi did too.

Hyesi walked away from the group and walked towards the forest. He had tried the 'Falling from the tree without pain' test a few times already and had realized that he had in fact become very strong.

"Thank you for helping me today as well, Inikaka." Hyesi was genuinely happy with how strong he had become. In just 10 days, he was starting to catch up to some of the adults.

"You don't have to worry child. I did what I promised. You helped me earlier, so it is my turn to help you."

"But I have received more help than I gave, Inikaka. Please tell me what I can do for you and I will do it," Hyesi even fell onto his knees and banged his head on the ground.

'Hmm…' Ning started to think of what he would require next. 'The moment I get a body, I would stand out in this group. I should find myself a separate place to live until I can get strong enough to leave this place. '

"Alright, here is what you need to do." Ning started to give him orders regarding his next set of tasks. Hyesi immediately got on it.

Ning on the other hand decided to think of ways to gain more energy so he could speed up the process. 'Hmm… do I have enough for increasing the cap?' he wondered.

'Status'.

[Status

Name: Ning Ruogong

Energy: 25,952,548

Skills: Simultaneous Thinking, Basic Map, Beginner's Klavis Language, Candle Fire, Yin to Heat conversion

'Hmm… it has in fact been 10 days. So 25 million is accurate. But still, it quite amazing seeing so much energy at once.' Ning felt a little excited when thinking that he had done basically nothing and increased his energy so much.

'Ahh... Yin to Heat conversion technique is the best decision I have ever made. System, how much is the energy gain cap price again?' he asked.

Double the Cap with 25 million Heat Energy

Double the cap with 25 million Sound Energy

'Ah, right. I only absorbed heat for the last 10 days, so the energy amount must be enough, right? System, Buy the double cap with 25 million Heat energy.'

Buying it will double your energy cap, are you sure?

'Oh, it seems I have enough energy. Yes, buy it.'

Confirmed

Energy gain cap has increased from 2.5 Million to 5 million

'Ah, nice. Do the price for future energy gain change now system?' he asked.

Prices for Energy gain cap increase have been modified

Double the Cap with 250 million Heat Energy

Double the cap with 25 million Sound Energy

'Ah, only the one I used to buy increased in amount. That should be enough. I should look into buying the next cap with 25 million sound energy. Although that might take a lot to gather.'

Ning wondered if he should buy the Yin to sound conversion technique as well, but that seemed like a bad idea. 'Nah, it costs too much, and I already have the heat one.'

'So now that I have another 2.5 million energy I can gather, should I do it now? Or wait for tomorrow morning?' he couldn't decide.

'Ah, whatever. I will do it now, it's not like I will have to gather when Hyesi is cultivating. As long as I gather the yin out of his body, that should be enough,' he thought.

Ning decided to start right there. Immediately, yin energy started to gather around the stone he inhabited.

"Inikaka?" Hyesi was startled as he was on his way to do what Ning had asked. Getting no response, he decided to wait for a while.

Ning on the other hand was focused at the moment. Slowly the coldness around him turned to heat as he started gaining energy. However, the energy he gained was very low compared to what he got in the morning with Hyesi.

'Hmm… is it because I already absorbed most of his Yin this morning that I am not getting any? Not even the surrounding has that much Yin anymore. Urghh… I shouldn't have done it after sunrise. The sun's yang energy has probably dissipated most of the yin energy that gathered here overnight.'

He had done something without thinking and ended up failing at what he had decided to do. 'I should stop being so impulsive.sigh.' He checked his energy and realized that he didn't even manage to get a million energy from the yin to heat conversion right there.

Hyesi felt that whatever his god was doing had stopped and asked, "Were you helping me again, Inikaka?" he asked.

'Helping him? What?' Ning was surprised for a second but realized soon enough what he meant.

"Ah right, I just decided to see if I can help you when you weren't cultivating and it seems you can't become strong." Ning decided to lie once more.

"I'm sorry for disappointing you, Inikaka," Hyesi said with a sad face.

"Don't worry about it, go on your way. You still have a job to do, remember?" Ning consoled him.

Hyesi struck his palm with his fist in realization and said, "Ah, right Inikaka. I almost forgot. I will do it quickly. I promise, by the end of the day, I will have a small house ready for you."

Report chapter

Over a kilometers away from the village, Hyesi was doing his best to dig a large hole on the ground. He had already gathered a lot of giant stones from near the beach and was ready to build Ning a home.

Ning, however, was still unsure how long it would take for him to use it. However, since he was starting to get 5 million energy every day now, so it was going to get faster for sure.

'Will I get ostracized from the village when they see my white skin?' he was worried. He didn't really want to change what he looked like, but it seemed he would have to.

'Hey, System. Can I remove something later on if I wanted to?' he asked.

Anything is possible with the shop

That gave him some relief. 'But I don't even know if they will accept me. They don't seem like they are used to visitors. So it might be a bad idea to just introduce myself to them.'

Hyesi continued building a house for Ning. Ning wanted to live in this house for a while before going to the village. Or maybe even never going there. He might instead directly leave the island and go to the main continent. At least that was what he had thought at the moment.

By nightfall, Hyesi completed the house. The stone house wasn't anything fancy. It wasn't even as good as an igloo. But, Ning thought it was okay for what it was supposed to do.

"Let's go back. We will return tomorrow to hide it with dried leaves and stuff," Ning said.

"Okay, Inikaka," Hyesi complied with his orders.

It was dark the way back, and Ning could see nothing. But Hyesi could and Ning was jealous about that. 'Should I buy night vision?' he wondered.

'Uhh… it should come to be of help, right?' he deliberated. 'Whatever, it's not like I won't have time to do other things. I can live forever, making some investments now would be a good choice.'

'Hey, System. How much does Night vision cost?' he asked. 'Actually, on that note. I need to increase my vision clarity as well.'

There are 3 levels of Night Vision

Night Vision I : 500,000 Energy

Night Vision II: 5,000,000 Energy

Night Vision III: 50,000,000 Energy

'Huh, 3? What is the difference between them?' he asked.

Night Vision I is Infra-Red vision. It shows the images in gray

Night Vision II amplifies normal night light to give as close to day-like vision as possible

Night Vision III shows you vision even in places with no light

'Oh wow. Night Vision III is kind of amazing. I should get that sometime,' he thought.

'Alright, buy Night vision I and show me the distances I can buy for my vision.'

Confirmed

Congratulations, You have obtained Night Vision I

You can buy focus distance of your vision for 200,000 Energy per meter

'That's 5 meters per million right? Hmm… since I have over 5 million, maybe… no. Give me 3 million worth of extra focus distance.'

Ning decided to look outside. 'Woah', suddenly he could see in the dark. It looked gray like those movies he saw on the TV. He could also see much further with clarity.

'Finally, I can see more than 10 meters ahead of me clearly.'

Ning checked how much energy he had left now. 'Status'

'Hmm… I still have quite a bit of energy left. I wonder what I should get.'

While he was thinking, Hyesi suddenly spoke, "Oh, they must be cooking fish again. Let's hurry up, Inikaka." He said.

"Hmm…" Ning tried to look in the direction of the village's center, but it was hidden amongst the trees and the buildings. "How can you tell they are cooking a fish? You shouldn't be able to see the center of the village from here," he asked.

"Of course it's because I smelled the fish, Inikaka," Hyesi said nonchalantly.

'Smell? Oh, God!! That's right, smell. System, why didn't you give me the smell sense yet?' he asked.

Hosts have never had requirements for olfactory senses which were provided with the human bodies most of them created

You can buy the sense, but the system suggests you just wait for the body

'Uhh… I guess that is true. I should be able to get my body in 20 or so days.'

Hyesi was already given some of the fish and was eating it. "Do you like eating fish?" Ning asked in a whisper after seeing him hungrily munching on the fish.

"Like? Not really. Although I don't dislike it either. It's just food," Hyesi said.

"Then why are you gobbling it down so fast," Ning chuckled a little as he asked.

"Oh, that is cause I was hungry. I haven't eaten in a few days, you know," Hyesi said with a smile as he finished the fish.

"You guys get hungry? Then why don't you eat every day?" Ning asked.

"What are you saying, Inikaka? Of course, we get hungry. But, we don't have anything to eat," he said.

"What about the fish in the storage room?" Ning asked.

"Oh, those are our stocks for when the cold days come. You don't show up for many days during the cold days and we don't get to cultivate. So we need to sustain ourselves with food in shorter intervals," Hyesi said.

'Oh, so they don't have much to eat because they prepare for winter huh. No wonder they have the fish encased in salt in the storeroom. But…' Ning wondered.

"Hey, Hyesi. Why don't you guys just get more fish then? You are near the ocean. You can get one whenever you want right?" he asked.

"We cannot, Inikaka. Due to that damned demon, Fufuliki, all the fishes in the area have run away. We rarely get any fish due to him," Hyesi replied as he gritted his teeth.

'I see… I wonder if I can do something to help them.'

Report chapter

Everyone went to sleep outside their home and only Ning was wide awake looking at everything in black and white. 'Feels like I'm watching an old movie,' he thought.

He looked at Hyesi, who too had started to sleep outside after getting stronger, sleeping with a smile on his face. 'He must've really liked the fish,' Ning thought as he looked at the young boy.

He looked at the other villagers, and they were mostly asleep with smiles as well. 'Can I really do anything to help?' he wondered. In his mind, the only method was to directly kill what they called the Demon and be done with it. Fishes would return and they would get some more food.

But that wasn't a choice for right now. No one in the village had enough strength to fight the demon and it would take Ning forever to get enough energy to be strong or make Hyesi strong enough to fight the demon.

'Hmm… why don't they eat coconut?' he wondered. He looked around and remembered they were all asleep. 'Ah, I guess I will ask Hyesi tomorrow.' Ning went to sleep as well.

Early in the morning, the system woke up Ning just as Hyesi and the rest started to wake up. Ning looked at the horizon and realized that the sun was still a bit away from rising.

'Let's see, since I collected 2.5 million energy after sunrise yesterday and increasing my cap to 5 million, I still haven't capped out for the day. So, If I were to collect right now, I would be capped and would have to wait for 24 more hours, right? Hmm… I guess my best choice is to not collect right now so that I can do it in a few hours,' he thought.

Everyone started cultivating the Sun God's Morning Cleansing technique. Sun came up and washed them over with its yang. Hyesi frowned as he didn't feel his god doing anything for him today. 'Is something wrong with Inikaka?' he thought.

Ning on the other hand was jolly, waiting for a few more minutes to collect 4 million energy at once. 'Wait, I can collect 5 million if I wait for some more minutes, right?'

Hyesi started to walk out of the village to go to the jungle when suddenly, he heard, "Wait Hyesi, go back inside your house for a few more minutes."

Hyesi immediately stopped when he heard his god. "Is something wrong, Inikaka? You didn't help me today either," he asked.

"I was too busy thinking of something and forgot to help you. Go back to your house and I will do it again," Ning said.

Hyesi made no objections and went back to his stone house. His mother looked at him weirdly for returning inside his house but made no comment about it.

After a few minutes, Ning collected 5 million energy from the Yin that was in Hyesi's body and inside the house itself. "Alright, we can go now."

"Did that help me this time, Inikaka?" Hyesi asked. Ning had said yesterday that it didn't help him, but he had still decided to help him once more.

"It doesn't matter if it helped you right now or not, in the long term, it will help you," Ning said something that was sort of true, but mostly a lie.

Hyesi still accepted it and walked to the jungle. His task today was to collect different dried leaves and use them to cover Inikaka's home that he was making.

Ning looked at the different coconut shells and decided to ask the question. "Hyesi, Why don't you guys eat coconut?" he asked.

"What's a coconut, Inikaka?" Hyesi asked.

"These things inside these shells, don't you eat those," he asked.

"Ah, you mean Jebiento, yes we drink their water," Hyesi said.

'Jebiento? Is there some sort of language problem here?' he wondered. 'Hey system, what's the price for the next Klavis language?' he asked.

Intermediate Klavis Language costs 1,500,000

'Alright, buy it.'

Confirmed

Beginner's Klavis Language advances to Intermediate Klavis Language

'Ok, this should work now.'

"Say that once again," he asked.

"Oh, I said we drink the coconut's water," Hyesi replied.

"Does that mean you've never eaten the flesh of a ripe coconut?" he asked.

"Ripe coconut? I don't know about that, Inikaka. We just take the green ones and break them for water. After all, we can't live without water," Hyesi said.

"Yeah, but why coconut? Why don't you drink the other water, and leave coconut for food?" Ning asked.

"Other water?" Hyesi fell into thought and said, " Aside from the occasional rain, there is no other water, Inikaka."

"What about the ocean water?" he asked.

"Those are salty, Inikaka. It just makes use more thirsty. We just use it to get salt to preserve fish for winter."

"Just salt? Oh, you guys don't know how to get drinkable water from saltwater, do you?" Ning realized. 'But can I even teach them how? There are no materials here.' He thought.

'Maybe I will have to use the system or something,' he thought. He tried to remember how exactly he could help them get drinking water from seawater on such a deserted island without suddenly introducing plastic or metallic materials.

'That is going to be troublesome,' he thought. 'Let's just focus on the food aspect for now. Since they have a temporary source of water, it should be fine,' he thought.

After collecting the different dried leaves, Hyesi walked to Ning's house and started laying it around the stone house to camouflage it as much as possible. It would also work as protection from the elements.

"Dried leaves won't last that long though, will it?" Ning asked.

"Yeah, it would be good if we could get those giant leaves from the other island. Those would be perfect to cover your house Inikaka," Hyesi said.

"Huh?" Ning was suddenly shocked at what he had just heard. "Another island?" he asked.

"Yes, Inikaka. The island that's just a little over there," Hyesi said as he pointed towards a direction.

Report chapter

Ning looked in the direction Hyesi was pointing at, but all he could see were the tall palm and coconut trees. There was nothing else visible from his location, not even the ocean.

"You are saying there is an island in that direction?" he asked once more to be sure.

"Yes, Inikaka. There is an island in that direction that takes a short time to get there," Hyesi replied.

"And you are saying there are big leaves there. Are the plants there different from these?" he asked.

"Yes, very different. The trees there are thick and strong, there are also small trees that grow in a bunch, and weirdest of all Inikaka, there are even small trees that grow just a little bit off the land. Walking on those feels so much better than the sand. I used to go there all the time with the chief and others," Hyesi started reminiscing of the old days.

'Small trees? Is he talking about grasses and bushes?' Ning thought. 'If that is so, then there should be possibilities of food there.'

"Why did you guys go there?" he asked.

"We? We went there to get the giant leaves for the houses, or the strong wood for spear shaft, or small, strong rocks for spearheads. Sometimes, we went there to even kill some animals for their meat." Hyesi's mouth nearly watered when he said meat.

'Sounds like the vegetation there is much better than here. There is even wildlife there.' Ning decided to continue asking more questions.

"And you guys don't go there anymore? Why?" he asked.

"Inikaka, as I said, the demon, Fufuliki won't let us go even near the ocean. So, for the last 2 years, we have been unable to go anywhere." Hyesi started to feel sad.

"Hmm…" Ning thought for a second and asked another question. "If there really was meat there and sticks and leaves there, why don't you guys stay there? Why stay on this island where even water is hard to get."

"But, Inikaka. The trees there are so big that it is impossible to see you until it's very late. So, we can't cultivate at all. And if we can't cultivate, we will die to even the fishes." Hyesi's words had truth in them.

'I see. That makes sense. I wonder how the other island is like. I should go visit it,' he thought. He was really intrigued by the description of the island and wanted to see it.

'I should actually wait until I have a little more energy. I will then teleport there to see if there is anything in there that can help me find some food for these poor people. That should be a good alternative until I can get strong enough to defeat whatever that demon is.'

Hyesi completed covering the stone home with different dried leaves. It didn't look very good, but it was workable and Ning accepted it.

During the next dozen or so days, Ning helped Hyesi cultivate, and gain energy for himself. Hyesi's progress during these times had been incredible. Even Ning himself was surprised just how much devouring the Yin and letting a yang free and yin free body cultivate the Sun god's Morning Cleansing technique helped a weak person.

The increase in strength was at least 50 times faster than the last few times. In just about 25 days of him being here, he had helped Hyesi get as strong as 3 years' worth of progress.

However, the one that got stronger than him, was his mother, Belini. Although her progress wasn't as good as Hyesi's, she still progressed by a year or so worth of cultivation. The already strong mother had gotten even stronger.

Thinking that now Hyesi was strong enough to not be called one, Ning decided to visit the new island he was so desperate to go to. He looked at his status one last time before going to the next island.

'Damn, I'm so close to getting a body,' he thought. 'But, even if I do get a body, I will still have to earn more points to make that body any usable at this state. And I would probably also need food to eat to maintain that body.' He thought of all the requirements for maintaining a healthy body.

'Hey, system. If I get a new body, and I need to switch it later, does that body die or can I use it again?' he asked.

If you leave the body and don't return, the body will go on to rot like every dead body

'Sh*t! That's pretty bad. Still, if I want to visit the world like a regular person, I will need a body. Uhh… never mind, I will think about it when the time comes. For now, I will need to go to that island.'

He took Hyesi to the home he had built and asked him to put a small stone on the ground. Ning was planning to use this stone as a source for the teleport.

The inside of the house was nice with dried leaves laid down on the ground and had a very clean look to it. Ning had already laid down in the middle of the room in the small stone.

He then spoke, "Hyesi, I will be leaving for a short time. I do not know how long it will take, but I will return. Come back here every day to check if I am back or not."

"I understand, Inikaka. I will do as you say every day." Hyesi bowed with his head on the ground.

"Alright then. I am leaving now. When I come back, I will help you personally fight the demon-like you always wanted to."

Hyesi got unusually emotional after hearing this and started nodding furiously.

"Alright then, I'm off."

'System, teleport.'

Confirmed

The stone vanished from in front of Hyesi.

Report chapter

The nearest island is 8.3 kilometers away from here

'Teleport' Ning said.

It will cost you 22,000 Energy. Are you sure?

'So cheap? Yes of course. Do it.'

Confirmed

One second Ning was looking at Hyesi and his curious look, and the other minute, he was on a beach, looking straight at the blue ocean.

'So, this is the other island huh.' He looked at the opposite side and saw the island with the vegetation from what he had previously expected. 'It looks exactly like what I imagined it would.'

'Oh yeah, system. That teleport was quite cheap. Can you tell me why?' he asked.

Teleport costs you based on the distance of travel and weight of the object you inhabit

Total energy cost for teleport is Total distance in kilometers times 2000 plus Total weight in kilograms times 15000

'That's … no wonder it's so cheap now. By the way, what is the cost for permanent teleportation?' he asked.

Permanent Unlock of Teleportation costs 10,000,000,000 Energy

Permanent Unlock of Teleportation will only cost energy for distance traveled and can be used with objects of any weight

However, Permanent Teleportation will not allow you to leave off of a planet unless you have 10% of that planet's energy

'Yikes, that will probably take quite long,' he thought. 'Oh, yeah, you said this place is about 8 kilometers away from the other island right? Hmm…' he tried to think of something but couldn't.

'Does the map not gain distance, system?' he asked.

Maps start getting distance with Beginner's Map

'Oh, I should buy it too I guess. Alright, buy the beginner's map of planet Kumia then.'

It will cost you 1,500,000 energy. Are you sure?

'Huh, for some reason I had remembered it being more expensive. Is my sense of what's a lot and what's little changed so much?' he wondered. 'Yes buy it.'

Confirmed

Suddenly, a hoard of information appeared in his brain.

'Oh… OH….OHHHH,' he screamed in his mind as he saw the numbers on the map now. The map in his mind was a bit clearer and bigger. Now he could easily see the individual islands strewn about in the giant ocean.

He looked at the circular shape of the Northern continent, covering the majority of the northern hemisphere. He then looked at the many islands and started calculating their distances.

It took him but a moment to realize that deducing his location through this map was impossible. There were hundreds if not thousands of such islands, so he would have to use another information to find his current location.

'Holy Sh*t. This world is so big. No wonder it can host so many humans. System, what is this size compared to earth?' he asked.

Planet Kumia has 23 times the surface area of Earth and can thus hold many humans

'I see. It will take me quite a while to get around this land then,' he thought.

Suddenly, something came to the beach. A bear-like a creature, looking for food left by the ocean. It sniffed everywhere along the beach and eventually got close to the stone.

'Alright, let's go see how this island really is on the inside.' Without any hesitation, he used the parasite on the bear and started riding it wherever it decided to go.

'System, can you mark the last location I was in the other island as some sort of checkpoint?' he asked.

Done

'Oh. I thought it would've cost me energy. Think not.'

The bear found some dead fish that had been washed up and ate it. Afterward, it went back to the jungle. Ning looked at all the different plants and wildlife inside the jungle and felt a little nostalgic as it reminded him of the animals back in the zoo.

The inside of the zoo was usually made to resemble the habitat of the animal that was kept inside, so most of the animal cages had trees in them.

'It would be quite hard to do anything if there were Tigers or lions in here. What if they are strong like those in the Southern Continent?' he wondered.

Thankfully, there weren't many animals that seemed to be predatory in nature, so he should be fine for now. When Ning reached, what he thought should be the middle of the island, he used parasite on a large tree and started using it as his host.

The tree was tall, much taller than the other trees, so he could see out into the ocean far away. He even managed to see a vague image of what looked like the island Hyesi and his people lived in.

He then looked at the opposite side and saw nothing but trees, large dense trees that left no sunlight inside. 'No wonder they didn't want to stay here. It would be a horrible place for them,' he thought.

'Hmm… now that I'm here, what should I do for them? Should I go find some trees with food, or should I kill some animals? How do I even do those things, to begin with?' he wondered.

'Hmm… should I learn some skills like telekinesis? System, what's the cost for Telekinesis?' he asked.

Telekinesis skill costs 240,000,000 Energy

'I guess I'm not learning that anytime soon then. Hmm… should I just continue with my plan to get a human body then? That should be faster,' he thought. Then, he looked around the jungle, with its thousands of trees, thousands of animals, and god knows how many insects are in there.

'Yeah, no. The body is a no-go for a while. how would I even keep my body safe after making it? Hm… I think I should go for Telekinesis for now. That or find some sort of animal with good dexterity and control its body. That could work too.'

'Ahhh, I feel too mentally fatigued right now. I will just go to sleep and think about it later. System, wake me up when I can start absorbing energy again,' he ordered.

Confirmed

Slowly, he lost consciousness and fell asleep.

Report chapter

Ning opened his eyes just as he went unconscious, and was back to consciousness. Although it felt instantaneous to him, he knew some time had passed. That was how it always was.

He looked at the jungle below and saw surprised at how dark it just was. He looked at the sky and could see some hints of light towards the east, but there was absolutely no way to know that in the jungle.

'I didn't think it would be so bad for them. The Klavians would've died by now if they had lived in such a dense forest.' He looked around for a few more minutes and decided to do what he had woken up for.

He was going to collect energy while it was still night. With a single thought, the Yin to Heat conversion technique started working,

Hyesi was not around, so he was worried that there wouldn't be enough Yin in the air to completely fill his cap, but oh how wrong he was.

When he had been using this technique around Hyesi, he had been staying in the small stone bead on his necklace. So, when the technique started, the 5-meter radius it covered was good, but not a lot.

However, now that he was in a gigantic tree. One of the biggest ones he had ever seen, the 5-meter radius that started at the surface of the tree, covered an overall volume of at least 50 times that of the small bead.

The tree immediately started heating and Ning collected 5 million energy before 10 seconds even passed. Ning let the remaining Yin go away since he had no use for it anymore.

'Ah, that was good. Huh… what is this heat? Didn't I already let go of the technique?' he thought as he looked out and saw that most of the dried trees at the top had started catching on fire.

'Well… that's bad,' he thought. ' Wait, will that fire spread and destroy everything in the area? First of all, if it all burns away, then I will be in danger of losing all this energy as well. I need to get rid of that fire soon. System, any ideas?' he asked urgently.

You can shoot water at the top and extinguish the fire

You can shoot out CO2 gas to extinguish the fire

you can shoot out …

… to extinguish the fire

The system suggested multiple different ways to extinguish the fire. 'Which one has the cheapest skill in the shop?' he asked.

You can buy 'Water shot' for temporary 1-time use for 200,000 energy

'Arghh,' it bled his figurative heart to spend such a high amount of energy, but he couldn't do anything about it for now. 'Alright, do it. Extinguish that fire.' He ordered the system.

confirmed

A stream of water appeared out of nowhere and fell directly onto the bunch of burning dry leaves, extinguishing the fire. 'That was close,' he thought and looked for any more possible fires.

After a few minutes of not finding any, he looked around and thought, 'I should do what I set out for, and get some food for those poor guys. Although, again, the same problem is here. Do I get the human body first, or the telekinesis, or just control an animal's body?' he started thinking.

By now, the sun was halfway up the horizon. 'Wait for a second, even if I do get foods, what do I do with them? Let them rot while I gather more? I need to find something to keep the food while I search for more. Hmm, is a refrigerator an option by any chance? Probably not,' he thought.

Unable to find any ideas as to do what with the food when he did find them, he resorted to his only way of finding a possible solution every time, the system.

'Hey, system. Do you have any idea how I can store foods without them rotting?' he asked.

System highly suggests you buy Interdimensional Storage with Stopped Time

'Oh, Right. Interdimensional Storage, how come I didn't think of that?' he would've face palmed himself if he had either of those. 'How much does it costs then?' he asked.

Interdimensional Storage costs 500,000 Energy for every kilogram of items stored

With Stopped time, the price is increased to 10 times

So, it costs 5,000,000 per kilograms

'Geez, that's a lot. Thankfully, I can a few of those for now. Buy 5 kilogram worth of it,' he ordered the system.

Buying Interdimensional Storage with Stopped Time (5 kilograms) for 25,000,000 Energy, are you sure?

'Yes,' he said.

Ning didn't feel anything. 'Do I have it? Let's check the skills list. Status.'

'It is there, I should try using it on something,' he thought as started looking for something to store. He looked at a couple of stones at the bottom of the tree and decided to use them for the experiment.

'Alright, so I just think about it yes?' he started concentrating on the stones, imagining them disappearing to some faraway place.

Suddenly, the few small pebbles and stones in the ground suddenly floated in the air and came straight towards Ning. He was scared for a second, thinking it will hit him, but before it could, the stones disappeared.

'Wha-What? Why did they come toward me? System, what just happened?' he asked.

The Dimensions where the storage lies is inside you

'Oh, so that's why they came towards me? You should have warned me. I was scared for no reason.' Just as he said that a small rabbit-like animal came hopping around the tree he inhabited.

'Alright, let's go and see what else I can find in this forest. I should come across some food, right?' Thinking so, he let the rabbit take him around the forest.

Report chapter

Ning had been looking around the places the rabbit took him when he happened to see something red on a bush. 'Hmm… is that a berry?' he was surprised to find some so easily. He looked more carefully and realized the bush had a bunch of red berries, all bunched up in small sections.

'Nice, I found some berries. That should help them a bit.' Ning started getting happy. Coincidentally, the rabbit jumped towards the berry's bush as well.

'Hmm… what is that dry lump over there?' he wondered but didn't care much about what he saw. The rabbit reached the bush and climbed over the dry lumps on the ground to eat some berry.

Ning was ecstatic at reaching the berries. 'Alright, so I just have to put them inside the storage. Can I do that while they are still attached to the plant?' he wondered.

'Trying won't hurt,' he thought and started concentrating on making the berries go into his storage. He tried for a bit, but it didn't work at all.

'Sh*t. I will have to think of something else. Uh… what if I pick it off of the tree first? No, I don't have hands or telekinesis for that. If I could just cut it off the tree… hmm… that could work. Hey, system! Do you have something to cut those small vines those berries are attached to?' he asked.

System suggests you get the skill 'Air Cutter'

'Air Cutter? Cutting the air?' he was confused. 'Oh, wait, using air to cut? Is that it?'

Yes. You send a sharp slash made up of Air and cut whatever is in the way

'What's the price then?' he asked.

Air Cutter costs 5,000,000 Energy

'Huh? That's… surprisingly cheap. Considering how useful it is. Well, compared to Candle fire, it's not. But that costs energy to use as wel— Wait! Don't tell me this one does too?' Ning asked nervously.

Air Cutter uses 200 energy per centimeter of the cut and 2000 energy per 5 meters of distance traveled

Distance of fewer than 5 meters has no distance-based cost

Remaining energy costs based on the power of the slash

'Oh, it's not as bad as fire then. Alright, buy it,' he ordered the system.

Confirmed

Congratulations. You have successfully obtained 'Air Cutter'

'Oooh, nice. Alright, let's chop that vine then,' he thought. 'Distance won't cost energy for now, and since that vine is so tiny, I doubt I would even need more than 1 cm of length. This should be a piece of cake,' he thought.

He concentrated on the little vine that held one of the bunch of berries. With a single thought, a small, barely visible slash originated from him, traveling to the vine. And in a single slash, it cut it.

The bunch of berries started falling, and before it even fell to the ground it started changing trajectory. It flew straight towards the rabbit and then disappeared.

'Yes!' Ning shouted excitedly. Just as the berries had fallen, he had sent the berries to Interdimensional Storage. 'Thank god it works now that the berries aren't connected to the vine.'

He then proceeded to collect more berries. He would send the Air Cutter flying towards the vine and use his storage ability to store them before they even fell.

He was really excited. He collected them for a while before something happened. 'Why do I feel so bloated? Almost like I ate too much,' he thought.

'System, what is going on?' he asked.

Interdimensional Storage with Stopped Time is at full Capacity

'Oh, we're full already? So we collected all 5 KGs of berries. That was quite fast. Guess that's it then.' He decided to wait for the rabbit to finish eating and then leave.

He waited for a few minutes. Slowly, the few minutes turned to a lot of minutes. Which seemed to extend as well.

'What is going on?' he looked outside and saw that the rabbit wasn't moving at all. It wasn't even eating. 'What's wrong with it?' he thought as he looked at it.

The rabbit had half a chewed berry, with some froth at the mouth. And it was absolutely not breathing. 'Huh? What's wrong?' he was shocked. 'Is it dead?' he thought.

It was then that something caught his eyes. It was one of the dry lumps that were on the ground. It looked surprisingly like a…

'A rabbit?' he then turned to another lump. This one looked like a bird. Another one looked like a squirrel. Another one looked like something else.

All in all, every single one of the dry lumps was in the shape of some sort of animal. They were all corpses left out after dying.

'Does that mean...,' a frightening thought appeared in his mind. 'Are these berries poisonous?' he thought. 'System, are these berries poisonous?' he asked.

Yes

The system confirmed his suspicions.

'Oh my god. I would've killed that entire village of people if I hadn't seen these dead animals.' He could feel just how scared he was right now. 'That was a close call. I will need to get rid of all of those berries I collected.'

'How do I do that though?' he fell into a small problem. 'System, how do I throw out the items in my storage?' he asked.

Taking items out of storage is the same as storing them

You have an all-seeing eye over everything in your Interdimensional storage

You can see everything in your storage with a single thought and choose what to take out

'Do I? Let's see.' He concentrated on trying to see if he could see into his storage. Suddenly, a bunch of information started popping into his mind.

'Woah. I do.'

It was as if he knew everything about his storage. He knew that there were 244 berries in 16 different vines. He could also see the 6 stones he collected just this morning.

He tried thinking of throwing every single item out in the wild, and suddenly the entirety of his storage poured out. All the berries and stones were out in the field.

And finally, Ning stopped feeling so bloated.

'Wow, that honestly feels so much better.'

Ning looked at the bunch of red berries in front of him and cringed as he thought of the possibilities if he had in fact taken it back to the people.

'Alright, let's stop thinking about that and see what I should do now,' he thought. Now that he was inside a dead rabbit, he would have to do something to get out of here.

'What should I do? Do I wait for another animal to come by?' he wondered for a few seconds. Then he thought of something.

'Wait, what am I saying? Idiot, I can just teleport. It doesn't even cost that much. Should I carry this rabbit's corpse though?' he wondered.

He looked around and saw the bunch of stones near. 'Maybe traveling in a stone would be more efficient and conserve more energy,' he thought.

'How do I touch it though? It's so far away,' he thought. 'Hey, system. Can I change the range of Body Switch?' he asked.

Yes

Every meter increment to Body Switch range is 8,000,000 Energy

'Damn, why so expensive?' he asked.

But the system did not answer. Ning fell into a dilemma. 'Status,' he said.

'Hmm… I can afford it, I guess,' he thought. 'Alright, buy a meter of range.'

Confirmed

'Alright, let's switch.' He focused on one of the small stones laid around on the ground and felt his entire consciousness flow into it.

'Time to teleport around the island,' he thought. He started to choose the small distances and teleport around for now. He would stop once he found an animal close by.

Since he had inhabited something with a small mass and the distance he was going to travel wasn't that far away, the teleports ended up costing as low as 10,000 per jump.

After teleporting for a few minutes, he came across another bush with a bunch of berries in it. However, this time the berries looked dark blue, almost black.

'Are these poisonous as well? Uh, System. You got any knowledge on berries?' he asked.

Here are the Knowledge on berries you can buy

Basic Berry Knowledge : 15,000 Energy

Beginner Berry Knowledge: 150,000 energy

Intermediate Berry Knowledge: 1,500,000 energy

Advanced Berry Knowledge: 15,000,000 energy

Omniscient Berry Knowledge: 150,000,000 energy

'Hmm… should I get the beginner? But intermediate is at a reasonable price as well. I think I can afford that. Alright, Buy the intermediate one system,' he ordered.

Confirmed

Suddenly, a load of information popped into his head. He looked at the blue-black berries in front of him. 'Oh, so these are edible huh. Looks like they are from a family of blueberries available only on this planet.'

The information he got was quite extensive.

'Alright, then. Let's gather these.' He once more teleports to be right near the berry's bush and started using Air Cutter to cut those stalks.

The blue-black berries were less bunched up than the previous red ones, so he had to use more Air Cutter. After each berry fell to the ground, he started to store then.

Within a few minutes, he got bloated.

'Urghh… I only have about 35 million energy now. I used up more than half of what I had gathered back in Hyesi's village. What should I do now?' he wondered.

'Should I go back and deliver these berries?' he wondered. 'Hyesi should come by every day to check the house, so if I teleport there, he should come to find me. Even if he doesn't, I can go teleport and find him.'

'Urghh… but then I will have to come back again and that would cost twice the energy. Hmm…' he started thinking of some ideas.

'Ah. Hey, the system can I teleport these berries without me inhabiting them?' he asked.

Yes

Teleportation can teleport any object

'Alright then, Remember the house I told you to mark? I need to send all of my berries there. Can you do it?' he asked.

Yes

Teleporting 5Kg berries will cost 94000 energy, are you sure

'Woah, that is more expensive than I was expecting. Although since they are 5 KGs so I guess that makes sense. But wait, don't I have to take them out before you teleport them?' he asked.

Teleportation does not require a host to take the items out of his Interdimensional storage

'Oh, that's quite handy. Yes, do it then.'

Confirmed

'Yes, let's go find some more berries.' Ning started teleporting around the forest looking at the different sceneries from time to time. Some places had more dense trees, while, some were just open fields that could be called a meadow, if not for the huge bushes.

There were other fruits and vegetables aside from the berries as well. However, these were clearly fruits so he didn't have to worry about checking them.

'God. I wish I could taste mangoes again. I will have to make sure the jungle is secure and get my human body. Although, getting telekinesis first might be the better idea.'

'Also, I will need to get a strong body and cultivate it to make it even stronger. Hehehe, I wonder what those islanders would think if I fly back there.' He started giggling like a child.

He came across a few different animals during his teleportations. Some bears, some wolves, some deer. But none looked like they would be a good choice to jump into right now, so he stuck to teleporting as a stone.

Over the course of the entire day, he ended up gathering over 25 KGs of fruits for the villagers and spent anywhere from 90 thousand to 100 thousand energy to transfer it, depending on the difference in distance to the target.

Finally, when night fell, he felt mentally exhausted by the day's work and decided to fall asleep.

'System, you know the drill. Wake me up when the energy cap cooldown is over. Okay?'

Confirmed

Slowly, he lost consciousness.

A few days had passed by now. The days were so dull, that Ning didn't even bother keeping track of it. Every day, he would wake up early in the morning and absorb 5,000,000 energy as soon as the max energy cooldown was gone.

He spent the rest of his days teleporting around, searching for more food to send back to those villagers. Everything he had sent until now was just fruits. There was nothing else on this island to send.

He had spent a few million energies increasing the weight limit of his Interdimensional storage so that he could send back more things at once and not waste energy on multiple trips.

He had been to every single part of the jungle by now and truly knew just how scary it was. The animals he met at the start were nothing compared to the monsters that stayed deep inside the forest.

However, they were only scary for him. For the villagers who could lift rocks like it was nothing and had muscles harder than steel, these monsters were probably as cute as pets.

Ning was bored of teleporting around now. Since he knew there was nothing here, he wanted to go back.

'Hmm…' he looked up as he heard something. A crow-like bird with black feathers and white talons landed on the ground next to him. It was there for the berries that he had just sent back.

Since there were still some, the bird started eating it.

'Woah, that's a huge bird,' he thought. The bird was larger than an ostrich that was kept in the zoo. It looked like a crow too.

'Damn, this bird would be enough to feed the entire village. It's probably heavier than that fish,' he thought. It was then a thought occurred to his mind.

'Should I kill this bird?' he thought. Instinctively, he wanted to jump into the bird and start absorbing its energy until it died from it, but he remembered that he was capped out on absorbing energy, so he couldn't do that.

'Then, will Air Cutter be enough?' he wondered. 'Let's try it.' He targeted the bird and decided to release a rather large air cutter. He released 50,000 energy worth of Air Cutter.

He spent 40,000 to make it 2 meters long to encompass the bird's size and spent the remaining 10,000 energy to increase its damage.

SWISH

The slash flew out of the air and landed on the bird.

KAW

The bird shouted out loud. The slash managed barely dig in deep enough to show blood, but not enough to harm it in any significant way.

'Sh*t,' Ning thought. Seeing the bird trying to run away he immediately used another Air Cutter towards the bird. Only this time, he used 100,000 Energy.

With a 6 times more powerful attack, the slash in the air flew directly to the bird and chopped the bird in half which still managing to fly a bit further before disappearing.

'Whew,' Ning sighed as he saw the bird fall into two parts. 'Damn. It nearly got away,' he thought. He looked at the innards of the beast spilling a bit and cringed.

'Oh god. It looks worse than inside that fish's stomach or those many birds devouring their prey.'

Now it was time to do something about the corpse. He had managed to kill it, but now he needed to send it back to the other island. But the bird was too big and too heavy to put into his storage. So, he started to get worried.

'Hey, System. Can I teleport that carcass back to the other place without storing it in my storage?' he asked.

Yes

'Oh, nice. Although, it looks quite heavy. How much will it cost?' he asked.

It will cost you 1,692,000 Energy

'Woah, it's that heavy?' he thought. 'Although… if I do send it now, I can spend the rest of the day freely. Hehe, I can just send them some monsters once a day, and it will be enough,' he thought.

'Alright, send it.' He watched the corpse, expecting it to disappear from in front of his eyes, however, nothing of that sort happened. Instead, he just got a notification from the system.

You must be in contact with the object you want to teleport

'Sheesh. You could've told me earlier. Alright, teleport me to the top of that object,' he said. The stone he inhabited vanished from the spot appearing on top of the two halves of the bird's corpse. Thankfully, the two halves were stacked on top of each other, so he didn't have to worry about individually sending both of the halves.

'Okay, can you send it now?' he asked.

yes

'Finally. Alright. Do it,' he said. Only then did the bird's corpse disappeared from in front of his sight.

'Now that that is done, what else should I do?' he started to wonder. 'Should I go kill more monsters and send it back to the villagers?' he thought. That was the idea he had come up with within the moment, but now he had to think if that was a good idea or not.

He thought for a second and said, 'Their problem is not that they have no food and require my help. Their real problem is the demon they call Fufuliki. If I can somehow get rid of that demon, I won't have to kill all of these monsters at all. They could do it themselves. They are probably far stronger than I am.'

'Okay then, for now, I will just gather some food once in a while and send it back. While I will conserve energy and buy something useful for myself. Hmm… maybe it might even be a good idea to try and increase the cap using sound energy somehow,' he thought.

'That settles it then. No more fully focusing on helping those humans. I will now start to use the energy for myself and get myself Telekinesis and the human body as fast as possible.'

Report chapter

Telekinesis. The ability to move objects through space by just using your thought. Many people fantasized about having telekinetic powers, but all of those were mostly just that, fantasy. Until now.

Ning was currently inhabiting a giant rock in the middle of open space. He had found this place on random teleportation and realized that this was quite a good location for farming something. He was tired of sending back food to the villagers and had decided to just leave a farm for them.

While doing that, he would also unlock everything else necessary for his own progress. A little more than a month had passed since he had decided to change his approach to the matter after sending the bird's corpse to the villagers and had gathered a large amount of energy.

The first thing he had done when he gathered 250 Million energy was up the cap of the daily energy gain. It was now at 10 million per day. The next one was surprisingly at 10 billion instead of 2.5 Billion.

He had then spent some more days gathering a lot of energy. When he finally did, the thing he had done was buy the telekinesis skill when he reached 240 million energy. That was a few hours ago.

He was currently using Telekinesis to take large wooden spikes he had made use of air cutter from the trees all around him and placing them around the perimeter of this place. He didn't want monsters to destroy the fields, so he was making fences with the wooden spikes by sending them high into the air and letting them drop.

In this way, he was halfway done with the spikes. It was at this point that his head started getting dizzy so he stopped.

'God, that took a lot of mental strength,' Ning thought. Telekinesis was a weird ability. It usage was a hybrid between the other techniques and was based around the weight of the object the host inhabited.

If the inhabited object had a higher mass than the target of telekinesis, then Ning would require mental energy to move it.

If the inhabited object had a lower mass than the target of telekinesis, then Ning would require energy to move it.

Both Mental energy and normal energy were expended depending on the mass of the target of telekinesis, regardless of the body he inhabited. So, right now, he was inside a giant rock, so that he would only have to use mental energy and not waste any of his actual energy.

Ning rested for a while and jumped into a small pebble to teleport to a nearby tree. He used Air Cutter to cut the trees into logs and cut them once more into spikes. He then used telekinesis to hurl the wooden spikes back into the field and himself teleported back to it. After jumping back into the giant rock, he decided to take a bit of rest.

He started thinking about what he could do next after this was done. 'I can leave anytime I want, can't I?' he thought. 'But I don't want to leave these villagers just like that, hungry and all. I will have to help them defeat that demon or whatever it is.'

'Sigh, I will have to get a body soon… but I will need one that won't die very easily. Otherwise, there would be no point in making one. Maybe I should make one that can cultivate.' He started to feel some sort of excitement.

'Hey system, can any human body cultivate?' he asked.

No. You need a body with spiritual root to cultivate

Otherwise, it can only cultivate its body

'Hmm… I can't do much with body cultivation. Honestly, it also looks so boring, doing the same thing all day long. I should just get a normal body that can cultivate. Alright, let's get this spiritual root thingy. How much does it cost system?' he asked.

Spiritual roots span from 200 Million Energy to 500 Billion Energy

'Woah!! Why such a big gap?' he asked.

Depending on the quality of the spiritual root, it helps a cultivator in their journey of cultivation

'Sigh. Alright, I will buy these later then.'

Ning continued to rest for a while longer. After resting for a while, he was back to full mental capability and had gone back to continue with the task. By the end of the day, he had all of the wooden spikes planted around the perimeter of the field.

'That's enough for today,' he thought and went to sleep.

Early in the morning, just as the cooldown for the cap was over, Ning woke up. As soon as he woke up, he started to suck in the Yin from the surroundings to convert it into heat energy. Unfortunately, he only managed to gain 2 million energy.

'Shit, the area is too open and the sun clears away the yin too fast.' He hopped into a little stone and teleported randomly deep into the jungle. Once he was at a location full of shades he continued the absorption once more.

The little stone had little surface area, so it took quite a while to gather the yin and convert it into heat. After a few minutes, he was finally done. 'Alright, let's go back and continue the work,' he thought.

Once more, he teleported back to the field and took a sharp wooden log. Today he was going to make the actual field.

'This would be so much easier if there was a tractor or even just a hoe. But I guess I gotta make do with this.' He started to carve the ground using his mental strength. Carving the ground was much more taxing than simply just dropping the logs from a great height, so he had to take a lot more breaks than he would have hoped to.

However, with those breaks, he managed to carve the entire field, and by the end of the day, the field was ready for stuff to grow in.

'Now I just need some water and seed.'

'Status'

Ning decided to check his status to see if he was prepared for everything. A status screen appeared in his mind.

[Status

Name: Ning Ruogong

Energy, 33,284,584

Skills: Simultaneous Thinking, Beginner's Map, Intermediate Klavis Language, Candle Fire, Yin to Heat conversion technique, Night Vision I, Interdimensional Storage (Stopped Time; 12 KG), Air Cutter, Telekinesis]

'Sh*t. I need to collect more energy. Just the Telekinesis alone took so much energy. I don't know how much more I will be needing. Especially, now that I have decided to make a body that can cultivate.'

He looked around the field and saw that it was ready for the water. So his next task was to find water for the field. He started thinking about the Beginner's Agriculture knowledge he had bought to look for some ideas.

'Hmm… I need crops that can grow without water, but I don't know how useful it can be for those people. Can they even grow them? Let's just find a source for water,' he started thinking again.

'If only I could use seawater for irrigation, but those just destroy the plants with the excessive amounts of salt in them instead. I will never be able to grow anything,' he thought. But then, he thought of something.

'Unless… Unless I can turn that seawater into normal water. I could probably do that with normal evaporation and distillation, but that will take too long. I need to use what I can. Uhh… system, I need a filtration ability. Is there anything in the shop for that?' he asked.

Yes

You can buy Filtration Knowledge to do it on your own

You can also buy Water Filtration skill, to filter anything from water

You can also buy Liquid Filtration skill to separate anything from any other liquid

Ning looked at the 3 different choices and thought, 'Hmm… the first one is out of the question. If I had to do it myself, I wouldn't need the system in the first place. Let's see, the second one is appropriate, but it kind of looks like 3rd one is the best option here since it works with more than just water.'

'Wait a second, System, can I even use the 2nd one? Most liquids contain water, so is there a chance that the 2nd one is unusable because most water isn't water, but a different liquid?' he asked.

Anything with over 95% water content, is considered water

'Okay, that is quite good. What's the price for the Liquid filtration then,' he asked.

Liquid filtration costs 18,000,000,000

'Wha— Why is that more expensive than everything I've bought till now?' he asked. The liquid filtration system was more expensive than even the next cap extension he could buy using heat energy.

'What is the price for Water Filtration then?' he asked.

Water Filtration costs 36,000,000 Energy

'That's quite good, but sigh, I will have to collect more energy again. I wish I could up the cap again so that I can collect more energy every single day,' he thought. His next cost for heat energy unlock was 10 Billion heat energy, while the sound energy could still buy things at 10 Million, which was very cheap.

' I wish I could see what amount of sound energy I had. Urh… I should have bought the separated energy when I had the chance. What was the price of it again?' he asked.

Separated Energy costs 10 Million Energy

'It's quite cheap too by the current standard. Urghh… let's just stop for today and gather more energy for the next few days,' he decided and went to sleep.

Over the course of the next few days, he did nothing but absorb heat energy when he woke up and immediately went to sleep. About 10 days passed, but to him, it felt like he was an hour at most.

'Alright, system. Buy Separated Energy,' he ordered.

Separated Energy costs 10 Million energy, are you sure

'Yes.'

Congratulations, you've bought Separated Energy

'Nice. How do I check it now?' he wondered. He tried to think about using the skill, but it didn't work. 'System, how does this work?' he asked.

Separated Energy is attached to Status. Please check Status

'Oh, alright. Status.'

'Oh god! I have so little Sound Energy. I should do something about it. Hey, system Is there a way to preserve this?' he asked.

Yes

You can specify which Energy to be used to buy the skills now that you have Separated Energy

'Nice,' he screamed in happiness. 'Then, use the heat energy to buy Water Filtration.'

Water Filtration costs 36,000,000 Energy, are you sure

'Stop asking stupid questions every time and just buy it when I tell you to do,' he got annoyed.

Confirmed

Congratulations, You have bought the skill Water Filtration

'Alright, explain. How does this work? Is it mental energy or normal energy?' he asked.

You use Energy to filter any liquid above 80% in water content and remove the rest of the content from the water. You can select what contents to remove and what to keep

Each liter of the water separated costs 20,000 Energy

You will have to be in contact with the water to filter it

'20,000 Energy per liter?' he was shocked at the ridiculous price. He turned to look around the field and slowly looked through the area. From his estimation, this large field would require at least 1000 liters of water if not more.

Moreover, he couldn't just drown the field in the water. That would be detrimental. He would thus need to make water channels as well if he really wanted the farm to be successful. Furthermore, he hadn't even thought of the second problem.

'Sigh, this is going to take longer than I thought.'

Report chapter

Ning saw another problem with his water filtration skill. He needed to be in contact with the water, but if he were to purify the water in the sea, it would just mix with the rest of the water and remain just as salty.

'Oh, wait a second. System, I can store the liquid in my storage right?' he asked.

Yes

'What about filtrating it in my storage?' he asked once more.

Host's inhabited body needs to be physically in contact for the water to filter

'Hmm… so I should just bring back water here and filter it all at once,' he thought. 'Where do I store the water though?'

He looked around, but nowhere looked special. 'Guess I gotta dig then,' he thought. He needed something else to dig as a wooden spike wouldn't be enough.

'Let's just buy a pair of metal tools,' he thought and asked the system about it.

He bought a Hoe for 20 Million Energy and a Shovel for 25 Million. He decided to spend a few more days collecting energy. In the meanwhile, he used dug around more pathways across the fields for water.

During his free time, however, something else was in his mind all the time. 'Should I just get my body or wait for enough energy to buy the spiritual roots?' he wondered. 'It might be a good idea to learn about cultivation properly first. System, show all knowledge on cultivation.'

Showing all knowledge on cultivation

Basic Cultivation Knowledge : 560,000,000 Energy

Beginner's Cultivation Knowledge : 5,600,000,000 Energy

Intermediate Cultivation Knowledge : 56,000,000,000 Energy

Advanced Cultivation Knowledge : 560,000,000,000 Energy

Omniscient Cultivation Knowledge : 5,600,000,000,000 Energy

'What the… I can't even buy the basic one? Why?' he was shocked at seeing the ridiculous price of the Cultivation knowledge. '560 million… that will take a 56 days… damn 2 months of just doing this? I will get bored. Only if there was a way to increase my daily caps. I wish I could get more sound energy just like I do my heat ene— hmm… wait a second. Hey, system wasn't there something about turning yin to sound as well?' he asked very expectantly.

Yes. Yin to Sound conversion for 20,000,000 Energy

'Idiot!! Why didn't I think of that earlier?' he started berating himself. 'Alright, let's quickly collect the sound energy tomorrow and double my daily cap twice in 5 days. That should help me a lot,' he thought.

'Buy it,' he said.

Yin to Sound Conversion bought for 20,000,000 Energy

'Alright, time to grind again.'

He spent the next few days digging a hole somewhere else in the field to store the water and then teleported to the sea to carry back the water. He would also kill whatever monster or animal that came to the field and send its body back to the village. They would surely appreciate it.

During this time he also unlocked the next cap for energy gathering twice.

Now he could gather 40 Million energy every day. He had also filled the hole he had dug with water and was ready to purify it.

He transferred his body into a small rock and teleported into the water. 'Man it would've been so easier if I could fly… I should look into that ability sometime soon,' he thought.

'Alright… uh I just think about it right?' he wondered and started thinking about filtering the water so that only the water remained and the salt was separated from it. A sort of buzz started appearing from his body.

Suddenly, white particles in the water started separating from it as he spent nearly 2 dozen Million of energy just to separate the salt from the water. 'Holy sh*t. I should have calculated beforehand.'

He felt like his heart bled seeing so much energy going away just to filter the water.

He looked around and saw that the salt was starting to settle to the bottom of the water. 'I should take it out of here right?' he thought and took all the salt into his storage. After the water was purified he teleported back up.

'Alright, how do I make the water flow now?' he wondered. 'Uhh… let's just go find Hyesi. He can do it he thought.

'System, teleport me back to the village at the marked location,' he said. Suddenly, his entire body disappeared as he arrived at a different location.

'Hmm… what is this? Feels so soft.' He thought and looked at the place he had just arrived. There were a lot of leaves and dried coconut shells that made a soft sitting place in the hut he had made previously.

'Hmm… what's going on? Why is there something like this here?' he thought for a moment. 'Oh, Hyesi must be diligently working. Good boy, good boy.'

Suddenly, he heard footsteps. 'Oh, he must be here. Just a good boy following my words even after so many days have gone by.' He waited for Hyesi to open the door to the house and entered.

But the one who came in was an old woman. She was probably one of the grandmas in the village that he never met. 'Hmm… why is she here?' he wondered.

"Oh, nothing is here today. He must be busy," she said and was about to leave when she saw the small stone in the middle of the room. She hesitated for a bit and spoke, "Is that you, Inikaka?" she asked.

'What? How does she know?' he was shocked.

"Inikaka?" she asked once more.

'How does she know about me? Is this… Hyesi?' he was surprised. 'Wait no, can't be. He probably just told the others about me.' He thought.

"Please speak if it is you, O bright lord Inikaka," the elderly woman spoke once more. Ning wanted to keep on staying quiet but decided otherwise. 'I was planning to do something like this a bit later on. I guess, now is not a bad choice either.'

So, he finally spoke, "Yes, It is I."

Report chapter

"Oh my lord, it is you," the old woman started to get teary-eyed as she looked at the small piece of stone.

"Who… are you?" Ning asked the woman.

"Oh my apologies, lord Inikaka. This lowly one is a humble servant of yours called Hasini," the old woman said.

"And how did you know I was your lord and that I would be here?" Ning asked.

"Oh, we've known it for a long time lord Inikaka. Ever since you sent that food for us lowly people, we have been tending to your shrine every day to get your blessings. We are ever so grateful to you for sending us meat and fruits," the old woman said.

'Shrine?' Ning was surprised. He then looked around the place he was in and realized that they had mistaken the home he built for his human body as a holy shrine. 'This is annoying,' he thought.

"Alright. Take me to the village. I want to meet Hyesi," he said.

"Yes, My lord," The old woman took him in her hands and started running faster than most monsters he had seen on the other island.

'Holy… what the… are body cultivators supposed to be this fast?' he was surprised. Within a few minutes, the old woman reached the village.

"Chief, Everyone, Look who returned to us?" the old woman shouted as soon as she returned to the village.

"Why are you shouting, Old Hasini?" someone asked.

"Hey, Hey, do you still think you are a young woman to be running like that at an age like this?" an old man asked.

"Shut up, Delika," Hasini scolded the old man who had just spoken.

The chief of the village walked out of the stone house he was in and asked, "What are you shouting for Senior Hasini? Who has returned?" he asked.

"Look!," the old woman propped up the stone in her hand high up above her head and let everyone see it.

"I thought you were going to check the shrine for some more blessings. Is that some food? That just looks like a normal stone to me?" the chief asked.

"Of course, it's not some food. It's not just a normal stone either," said Hasini. She then took a deep breath before shouting, "Our Lord and savior, Inikaka has returned as the blessing himself."

'Oh god, this feels so awkward. Almost feels like I'm *mba, put up for everyone in the village to see,' Ning thought.

"What? Lord Inikaka?" The chief shouted.

"Lord Inikaka?" another one shouted.

"No, way. Lord," another person spoke.

Before Ning knew it, the entire villagers were down on their knees with their heads on the ground, bowing to him.

'Please don't. I'm cringing already,' Ning started shouting on the inside. A few moments passed but the Klavian people didn't seem to be taking their heads off the ground at all.

"Uhh… Guys, You can stand up now," Ning finally spoke.

"INIKAKA!!" everyone suddenly shouted.

That night, the whole tribespeople had a party. 2 massive monster corpses were put on the fire as food, while both the young and the adults danced to the music of the elderly's.

Hyesi had already returned back home and Ning had decided to change his body into his Necklace for now.

"You finally returned to us Inikaka," Hyesi said.

"I was always going to. Didn't I tell you to look at that place from time to time for me?" he asked.

"Yes, Inikaka, but… after you sent the food, I thought you might have chosen to just send us food and abandon the fight with Fufuliki instead," Hyesi said.

"Of course not. Speaking of sending food, however, How did they come to know about me?" he asked.

"Oh, that Inikaka. At first, when you sent us the food, I took them back to the village and gave them to everyone, saying they were washed up on the beach. But after a couple of days of that happening, they started to get suspicious."

"After that, you sent a bird corpse. It was then that I learned that I couldn't hide anything else and decided to spill everything. Since then, someone has been going to the place I built to get our blessings every day."

"I hope you are not angry at your child for making a mistake, Lord Inikaka," Hyesi said.

"Sigh, no I'm not," Ning said. He didn't think such a development would occur, and as such, he now had to think of something.

'Actually…' he thought, 'this seems like the perfect time.'

"Hyesi, bring me to the center of the group," he asked Hyesi.

Yes, Lord Inikaka," Hyesi said and walked to the middle of the music and dancing. Seeing Hyesi come up to them, they didn't do anything at first, but when they remembered that Inikaka was inside Hyesi's necklace, the entire village immediately went silent.

The only noise out there was the crackling of fire and the distant sound of the ocean.

"Everyone, I have something to say to you guys," Ning spoke with a loud voice.

"What is it Lord Inikaka? Can we help you?" the Chief asked immediately.

"No, it's something else. I came down here to look around the world, and see what it was like. I was always distant and could barely see any of you, so I decided to take a closer look. As such, I incarnated into this ethereal form that required other bodies to stay in," Ning said.

"However, I have decided now that I want to have my own body to move around. I want to see what a human feels like and see if you are really as weak as I think you are. Since this is going to be my new body, It's going to be extremely weak. I hope you guys can help me stay strong and protect me from everything else."

He then said, "In return, I can help you be stronger, give you food, and more than anything, Kill the damned demon called Fufuliki who has been plaguing your life."

Days passed in a simple manner. Every day in the morning, Ning would use his Yin to Sound conversion technique to collect as much sound energy as possible.

Hyesi alone was no longer enough to reach the cap, so he had Hyesi walk around the dark places in the village afterward to gather some more energy.

The villagers were very understanding when he said that he wanted a new body and allowed him to do whatever he wanted. Getting the freedom, Ning fully devoted his days to get enough energy for the basic cultivation knowledge before making a body.

He also helped the villagers once in a while by going to the other place to get some meat for them, or even stay around for a bit to make sure his field wasn't destroyed. Other than that, he mostly just thought about how well he had to make his body.

He wanted to make one that would at least be above average in terms of talent. A dozen or so days passed and Ning finally had over 560 Million Energy.

'System, Buy the Basic Cultivation Knowledge,' he said.

Basic Cultivation Knowledge costs 560,000,000 Energy. Are you sure?

'Yes,' he said.

Confirmed

At that moment, a massive amount of information entered his mind as he started to know all the different things about Cultivation. The information wasn't very detailed. In fact, it was barely anything. However, the topic of Cultivation had so much information behind it that the basic knowledge he got was hundreds of thousands of times more vast than anything he had learned before through the shop.

'I see…' he thought as he looked through the knowledge he had just acquired.

Cultivation to him was just like magic. You used Qi and you could do whatever you wanted. But, it seemed there was more to it than just that. He learned how vast the thing cultivation itself was.

Cultivation was simply one growing oneself better than one were yesterday. It meant refinement and walking the path towards perfection.

Cultivating a seed meant growing it until it has been refined and has grown into the perfect form it could be, a tree. Cultivating oneself meant enlightening oneself to the ways of the universe to grow as an intelligent being.

Even animals who had barely any intelligence could gather enough Qi to gain intelligence wherein they would begin their true journey through cultivation as well.

There were many things one could get enlightened in. Most people were however limited due to their lack of will or due to their circumstances. Some were bad at fighting, so they would never truly learn the universal truths hidden behind the blows.

Some were bad with swords, so they would never truly understand the universal truths behind the sword. Some were bad with herbs and vegetation, so they would never understand the universal truths behind alchemy.

Or some were just cowardly and didn't fight. Some didn't practice a lot with the sword or some were too lazy to learn about the herbs. Everything was limited to one's own talent and training.

'Except me…,' Ning thought. 'I can get talent whenever I want. I can get experience whenever I want. Heck, I don't even have to train in anything to be good at it. As long as I have the shop, I can be the greatest.'

'But where is the fun in that? What is the point of living if I can't struggle through life?' he thought. 'I don't want to live forever if there is nothing to live for. If everything is handed to me, how is it even living?'

Learning about Cultivation suddenly changed his mindset towards life. He fell into contemplation for a while.

'System, What will be the cost of my original body combined with the cheapest spiritual roots that can take me to the peak of cultivation,' he asked.

Mortal human body will cost 100,000,000 Energy

Five Elemental Spiritual roots will cost 369,000,000 Energy

For a combined total of 469,000,000 Energy

'Hmm…The more elements in a spiritual root, the worse it is, isn't it? However, since it's not the broken ones, so I assume broken ones can't reach immortality. I guess this is what I will require, huh?' he thought and then said, ' System, put it on the auto buy list,' he said.

confirmed

'Alright, now I will just have to wait a few more weeks before I get my body,' he thought. Ning went back to his usual task of gathering energy every morning and helping the village with food from time to time.

He made the villagers make a hole in the center of the village where he made them fill it up with water from the sea and then purified it to no longer have salt in it.

The villagers were astounded to finally drink something that wasn't salty or sweet and just… nothing. This was a tasty nothingness.

Ning also spent a majority of the time teaching about cultivation to the villagers. Later on, he decided to leave them with some techniques if he could, but for now, it was time to collect energy.

After several days, he finally had enough energy and it was time to make a new body.

Ning made Hyesi go to a separate location for this event. He made him go back to the 'shrine' that was his home. He had already crossed the 469 Million mark and had told his system to hold off on creating for a few more minutes.

'Alright, System. You can make it,' he said.

Confirmed

Suddenly, a massive gust of air appeared in front of Hyesi as motes of light flew out of his necklace and hovered in front of him until it was a little taller than him. Slowly the light took the shape of a human and then started to get more defined.

Skin, muscle, bone, hair… more and more details got added to the body. And finally, it was complete.

Without thinking, Ning just jumped into the new body, and the new body opened its eyes.

Report chapter

Ning slowly opened his eyes to look in front of him. But it seemed it didn't matter if he opened his eyes or not, He would still see everything around him since he was just an Energy inhabiting a body. His own body, but just a body nonetheless.

'I will have to be careful with this body. If this breaks, I will have to spend another 500 million energy to make a new one,' he thought.

Suddenly, a notification arrived in front of him.

Congratulations on Acquiring a Human body

Condition Achieved

You can now absorb energy through Qi

'Is that so. How do I absorb Qi? Just like heat and sound?' he asked.

Use a cultivation technique to gather Qi. Half of the Qi will be stored in the body, and others will be absorbed

'Hmm… is there a way to tweak the amounts I absorb?' he asked.

You can choose to absorb less as an Energy, but the body will keep at least half no matter what

'I see. That is fine with me,' he thought.

Hyesi was genuinely flabbergasted seeing a new body forming in front of him. That too one that belonged to his god.

"Lord Inikaka, You have successfully made your body?" he asked.

"Yes, it would appear so," Ning said.

"Look at your skin, Inikaka. It's just as shiny as your real self," Hyesi said.

'Shiny?' Ning was surprised. He didn't think his body was shining. He immediately brought his hands in front of him to check but it wasn't shining at all. He turned it both back and forth but there was still no shining.

'What does this kid mean?' Ning was confused for a second. But when he turned to Hyesi from his own hand, he finally realized.

'Oh, he means my skin is white. Has this kid really not seen any other white people yet? There should be many cultivators flying about, why are there none here?' Ning wondered. In the many weeks, he had spent in this area of the Planet Kumia, there weren't really any sightings of cultivators flying in the sky.

He had narrowed down his location in the northern continent by a fair amount, but that amount too was too much for him to accurately tell the location.

Ning quickly gave himself clothes matching the natives.

"Alright, let's go back to the village, and tell everyone that I now have a body," Ning said to Hyesi.

"Yes, Inikaka," he replied.

Ning walked back to the village and saw a face of awe and surprise in everybody. At first, they didn't realize who he was. But once they saw Hyesi behind him, they realized who he was.

"Lord Inikaka?" one person said.

"Yes?" Ning replied.

"Woah, it is you, Lord Inikaka. Look everyone, the lord has got a new body," the person shouted. Everyone started gathering around Ning to take a closer look at his and were really surprised at how different he was from the rest of them.

Ning started to get really scared when they got unusually close. Since they were so strong, a slight mishandle and they could break his body in half.

"Everybody Stop!," he shouted. The people who were making noise stopped talking suddenly. "Yes, It is me. However, since this is not my real body, I am very weak and it will take me some time to return back to full strength. So please don't do anything that would hurt this fragile body for now," he said.

Everyone agreed. Once everyone spent a little more time looking at their lord's new body, they went back to their daily tasks, which was just staying around doing nothing.

'These guys seriously don't have any other purpose than cultivating and living. They don't have any hobbies or play any sports. They just sit around the village doing nothing. Do they not get bored?' he thought.

'Alright, I will need to give them something to occupy themselves. The farm at the other place is good, but… hehe, I can think of something better,' he thought.

'I should get the Sun God's Morning Cleansing Technique so that I can get stronger as well,' he thought. 'Also, now that I have a body, I should start to cultivate as well. Techniques and weapons and other kinds of stuff can come later. I need a cultivation method for now,' he thought.

'Let's see… should I get a bad one so that I can struggle or do I get a good one?' he started wondering.

'System, what cultivation method can I buy for less than 100 million?' he asked.

The system listed nearly thousands of Cultivation techniques for him to choose from. That too were ones that were just under 100 million. If he were to filter otherwise, the list might have gone on for a long time.

He looked through the list for a few minutes. Thanks to simultaneously being able to think of 2 things at once, going through the list didn't take that long of a time. In the end, he chose one that looked to be good.

Are you sure you want to buy 'Earthly Jade Cultivation Method' for 92 million?

'I will be down to a few millions of energy only, but that should be enough for me now. Yes, buy it.'

Confirmed

Congratulations, you have learned 'Earthly Jade Cultivation Method'

'Hmm… I wonder why it didn't give the 5 different levels of knowledge option. Is a cultivation technique not the same as just knowledge?' he wondered.

Ning looked at the list of skills and thought, "So it is a skill, no wonder it didn't show up with multiple options to choose from. Also, I have a Qi Energy section now. I should start filling it up.'

'Now that I have a cultivation method, it's time to cultivate.'

"Alright, I'm leaving for a few hours. I will come back tonight, Okay?" Ning said to Hyesi.

"As you wish, Inikaka." Hyesi complied without question.

There were no bugs or animals on the island so Ning was pretty safe for now. He walked into the shrine that was his home and sat down inside on the soft floor.

"Before I start anything, answer a few questions, System. First of all, do I use up energy from whatever I am doing right now with my body?" he asked.

No. Your body is a separate entity from you. So no matter what it does or happens to it, you will never be affected

"I see. What about absorbing energy? Do I absorb my body's energy?" he asked. He remembered all the horrible fates those wolves and birds had to face when he first unlocked Parasite Ability. He wondered if he was doing the same thing right now as well.

No. This is a body you created. You cannot absorb energy from the body you created itself

"Oh," the answer had surprised Ning. "What about the extra energy I can get from foods and other stuff?" he asked.

If the energy is not required by your body and you are not capped, you can absorb it freely without worry

'When I have no cap, huh. I guess I should start absorbing a little less than the cap so I can absorb extra energies,' he thought.

He then asked another question, "You said that my body will die if I don't host it previously, right?"

Yes, If you do not inhabit your Human body, it will go into sleep mode where it will indefinitely sleep, continuously losing energy until it dies

"That's kind of morbid. Is there any way to not have it die when I leave it?" he asked.

There are two ways

First, You can store your body inside the Interdimensional Storage with stopped time to stop it from losing any energy

Second, You can cultivate to a high enough realm where your body can survive without energy

"Ah, yes. I can do that. I don't think I would have remembered that though. Thanks, system. Let's see, do I have any other questions?" he wondered. "I can't think of any right now. Whatever, I will ask it later if I think of it. For now, let's start cultivating."

"So, I start by trying to feel my first Qi, don't I?" he thought, remembering the information given to him through the basic cultivation knowledge. "I need to follow my cultivation method and try to sense the Qi around me, huh?"

He closed his eyes and pushed his human body's perception to the limited as he started to follow what the cultivation method told him to do. Having a spiritual root, one could immediately start using the cultivation methods without worries and that was exactly what he planned to do the moment he sensed any Qi. Without sensing Qi, however, it wouldn't work at all.

Ning ignored as much sense as he could to try and sense Qi. However, being an Energy, he could see and hear everything around him even when his eyes and ears were closed. So, he sat there for an hour, trying to feel the Qi and failing every time.

He really didn't have any talent in cultivation. Thankfully, he had a spiritual root now that wouldn't stop him from climbing up the cultivation ladder even if it took him millions of years.

Finally, after a few more hours, he sensed Qi. It felt like a small speck of invisible light, only seen to his body, floating in the air. He slowly pulled at the Qi with his will and drew it to his body.

Once the Qi entered his body, he shuddered a little and then calmed down immediately afterward. He had now entered the Qi condensation realm and had started on the path of a cultivator.

Now that he had drawn in his first Qi, he could start using his cultivation method. He took the Qi and started moving it around his body using the body to get it used to the Qi, while at the same time slowly pulling in more and more Qi from the environment.

He was capped out for the day, so he pulled in as much Qi as he could by nightfall without worrying about stealing part of the Qi. Which wasn't really a lot, to begin with. He opened his eyes and finally stopped cultivating.

He started moving his fingers and felt something different. It was almost like he had more strength in him now than when he had started cultivating.

'Am I cultivating at a proper speed?' he wondered. He closed his eyes and tried to feel inside him once more and he did find Qi. He just didn't know how far he was into cultivation with this amount of Qi. He didn't even know if this little amount was good or bad.

'I should upgrade my cultivation knowledge as soon as possible,' he thought.

Now that it was night, he walked back to the village, but something weird happened. For one, he could feel a sort of nimbleness on his feet that wasn't there when he had arrived here. Also, through his body, he could swear that he could almost see the forest and tell apart the trees at night.

He looked into the sky and it was a cloudy night. And yet, he could see some silhouette of the trees. 'Are these the result of my cultivation?' he wondered. 'I wonder how well the body cultivation would work for me,' he thought.

Slowly, he made his way back to the village where the villagers had already set up a fire with some meat cooking on top of it. When they saw him arrive, they immediately called him to the center nearby the fire and gave him a giant piece of the meat.

He looked at the food and saliva started filling his mouth. 'How long has it been since I've eaten anything?' he wondered. He hadn't even kept track of the time, yet he could tell that it had been forever.

Without anymore thinking, he bit into the food, eating away the soft and juicy meat right off of the bone. He tried to stop tears from forming in his eyes as he thought, 'I am so glad that I decided to become a human again.'

Report chapter

Once they were done celebrating, every single one of the villagers went to sleep. Ning decided he should get some sleep before the morning too.

'System, wake me up 15 minutes before the sun comes up,' he said.

Negative

'What? Why negative?' he asked.

Cannot put you to sleep when you have a body of your own to control. Please switch body to sleep

'That— no. I just got a body. Is there no other way?' he asked.

You can go to sleep normally like everyone else

As if he had just realized it, Ning went, 'Oh, Of course. Yes. Now that I have a body, I can finally sleep, can't I?'. He was unusually happy about it. He looked around the village and everyone was asleep on the floor. He tried to think of other places inside the houses to sleep, but those beds were made up of rock as well.

'Do I really have to go all the way back to my house to sleep?' he wondered. The hardness of the sleeping space was not the only problem. The other problem was heating. Now that the fire had started to die, the air was getting a little chilly.

Although he wasn't really feeling it all that well, he still didn't want to take the chance of the air getting so low that he had a cold tomorrow. He fell into a dilemma. 'Do I sleep on the floor and risk catching a cold? Or do I walk all the way to my house where I can maybe get proper sleep?'

He started thinking of the pros and cons of both of those options when he realized that he had a third option.

'Or I can just not sleep and go cultivate.' He thought of himself as really smart when he thought of that. He walked into Hyesi's house and sat down on the bed. Both Hyesi and Belini were sleeping outside, so he was free to do whatever he wanted here.

He closed his eyes and started slowly breathing in and out. Once again, he calmed himself and started feeling the Qi in the surrounding. This time, however, he used his Energy vision to look outside.

Small bright specks of light slowly appeared in the air, all randomly moving around with no purpose. 'This is Qi, huh,' he thought. There wasn't a lot of them in the air. Maybe a few dozen at best.

He started using his cultivation technique and the specks of light started to slowly move around the room, slowly making their way back to him. Soon, he was covered in dozens of specks of light trying to enter his body.

'Ah, this reminds me of the time Freya cultivated in front of me,' he thought.

The specks of light entered the body, and new ones formed randomly in the surrounding. Over the course of the night, he managed to gather hundreds of specks of Qi into his body. Yet he only felt slightly different from before.

The difference was definitely there, but it was so small that it was almost negligible. 'Guess my body isn't really the best for cultivation huh?' he thought.

Morning arrived soon and everyone in the village was awake. Ning too stood up from his cultivation and walked outside. The villagers weren't waiting for him yet, when he arrived they immediately greeted him.

Ning walked towards Hyesi and stood near him. His cap was over, so it was about time to gather energy once more.

Hyesi and the rest of the villagers started performing their rituals to prepare their bodies for the yang energy from the sun of the dawn. Ning waited for that time to come. Everyone's body started glowing when the sun was about to arrive.

It was time. Ning closed his eyes and started concentrating on gathering Yin to turn it into heat. In a sudden burst, all the Yin from the surrounding, including Hyesi and his mother's body gathered up to him.

Once they covered his body, they started changing to heat energy.

Immediately, he started feeling like he was being burned alive. His concentration broke and he immediately stopped using the technique.

'Sh*t. I forgot the energy was enough to burn trees. I shouldn't be using that with my human body. Thank god I stopped in time, or I would have gotten serious burns all over my body,' he thought.

Now that he couldn't use Yin to heat conversion techniques, he switched to Yin to sound conversion technique.

A moderately loud hum started sounding from all over his body as the Yin he gathered turned to sound energy, being absorbed by him.

The sun came up and everyone stopped cultivating. They got down on their knees to kowtow to their god. Only this time, their god was in front of them, so they turned towards him and kowtowed.

"Thank you for blessing us, O great and bright lord Inikaka," they shouted.

Ning felt a little weird, but didn't say anything and simply nodded. Everyone stood up and went to do their own tasks.

'Should I go cultivate again?' he wondered.

GRRRR

Suddenly, his stomach growled. 'Ah, I forgot I had a body now. I get hungry so fast. I should eat something, but what? There is nothing in this island,' he thought. 'Do I have to go to the other island for food?' he wondered.

He sighed and called Hyesi over.

"What is it Lord Inikaka?" Hyesi asked enthusiastically. Being called over by their lord was an honor for them. Doing some tasks for them even more so.

"This new human body is weak and needs sustenance. I need food and water, or this body will die soon," Ning said.

Hyesi hesitated for a bit and said, "But Lord Inikaka, we don't have any water. Also, the meat will take some time to cook."

"I know. I didn't call you here to get me some food," Ning said, confusing Hyesi in the process. Hyesi cocked his head not knowing what to expect.

"No, I just want you to come with me to the other island and help me in what I am doing."
