Well, this situation is certainly less than ideal.
I'd overheard 2 village kids – a Deerling and a Shelmet – talking about how another kid was in trouble. I followed them to an eerie-looking forest they called Foreboding Forest, and they were talking to a Pancham about the younger kid, Goomy, he and Shelmet bullied into retrieving a paper they'd left behind the last time they were here.
Deerling wanted to go in since Pancham and Shelmet were too cowardly to take responsibility for their cruel actions, but they wouldn't let her lest something terrible befall her. I've met others like Pancham and Shelmet before. I can't remember who exactly, but I have a gut feeling we've met.
I guess bullies are pretty much the same regardless if they're humans or Pokémon. Weak folks who act big and mighty to mask their insecurities. If Pancham or Shelmet were mature, they wouldn't see the need to bully someone younger than them. Kids…
I agreed to go in after Goomy. Even though this had nothing to do with me and I don't have nearly enough experience with this world to confidently say I'm up to this task, I don't like the idea of a kid wandering this precarious place on their own. What if he gets hurt? What if he unwittingly invades a Pokémon's territory and they attack him?
Pancham and Shelmet clearly didn't think this through…how would they live with themselves if something terrible happened to Goomy?
So, now I'm in another Mystery Dungeon. I'm not an expert at traversing these yet, but Nuzleaf had taught me enough of the basics where I think I can handle this on my own. I'll just have to be careful.
I should get moving. I can't let my guard down - a Pokémon could sneak up on me at any time.
