Chapter 9

Olivia woke with a start. Her body soaked in sweat. Taking a moment to acquaint herself with her surroundings. Realizing she was safe in her bed she took a deep breath. Climbing out of bed she went to her bathroom to rinse off both the sweat and the nightmare.

After a quick shower and changing her pajamas she was still feeling shaky. Debating for a moment before coming to a decision. She quietly left her room, poking her head into Emma's door before padding down the hall to Natalia's room.

She hesitantly knocked on the door. Waiting a minute before knocking again. When there was no answer she thought of going back to her room but knew that there was no way she could sleep alone after the nightmare she just had. Making the decision she carefully opened the door slightly and slipped inside.

Reaching the side of the bed she looked down at the beautiful Latina laying there. Natalia's face looked so peaceful. In that moment she was eternally grateful to have this wonderful woman in her life. She reached a hand out and ever so slightly brushed Natalia's cheek.

Natalia barely stirred so Olivia bent and lightly kissed her lips. Natalia hummed but didn't wake so Olivia kissed her just a bit harder. Natalia startled and her eyes popped open. Taken aback for only a second before realizing she was starring into Olivia's beautiful Jade eyes. Smiling and then concerned she muttered sleepily, "Hey, what's wrong?"

"I uh, I had a nightmare and couldn't get back to sleep."

Reaching out her hand to Olivia she tugged slightly. Bringing Olivia to sit on the edge of the bed. "Oh my baby, I'm sorry. Wanna tell me about it?"

"Not right now. Can I lay with you? Please?" She asked in a small voice similar to Emma's when she's scared.

"Of course baby. Get in here."

Walking to the other side of the bed Olivia lifted the blanket and climbed in. Natalia opened her arms and Olivia gratefully lay against her. Laying her head on her shoulder with her arm draped over Natalia's waist.

Natalia ran her hand up and down Olivia's back and kissed the top of her head. "Are you okay my love?"

"Mmm. I am now. I feel safe in your arms." Turning her head she placed a sweet kiss where Natalia's shoulder and neck met.

"I'm so glad you feel safe because I like having you in my arms."

Olivia's hand started to make small circles on Natalia's stomach. She turned her head to look up into Natalia's face. "You are so beautiful."

Looking down at Olivia's perfect features Natalia's heart skipped a beat. "Funny, I was just thinking the same thing about you."

Chuckling softly Olivia stretched up to kiss Natalia's full lips. The kiss started out chaste but soon turned passionate. Natalia slipped her tongue out to run across Olivia's bottom lip, begging for entrance. Olivia instantly opened to her. Allowing Natalia's tongue to ravage her mouth. The first rays of the sun were just peaking through the master bedroom window as Natalia's eyes peaked open. She took a moment to register the warm body pressed against her. Glancing down she saw the angelic face of the woman she loves. She took a slow deep breath as images from the previous night seeped through her brain and a sweet smile plastered her lips. She dipped her head to place a sleepy kiss to Olivia's lips.

Opening one eye Olivia smiled at the radiant woman staring back at her. "Mornin'" She slurred in a gravely voice. Stretching her body. Feeling the ach in over used muscles. Making her smile widen as she remembered just how she got those aches.

"Good morning querida. Sleep well?"

"Mmm, best sleep I ever had." Pulling Natalia impossibly closer she wrapped her arms and legs around her kissing her soundly. "How about you?"

"Never slept better." Peaking at the clock she realized Emma would be up any minute. "We should get up. Emma will be up shortly."

Tightening her hold on the Latina, Olivia muttered, "No, comfy."

"I know baby me too but this is not how we want…."

There was a knock at the door just before it flew open with a groggy Emma bounding inside. "Morning Natalia. Mom, why are you in Natalia's bed? Did you guys have a sleep over without me?"

Pulling the blanket closer around their bodies, they separated enough for Emma to climb in between them. "Well Em, yeah we did. I had a bad dream and couldn't sleep so Natalia let me sleep with her."

"Oh."

"Hey Em, why don't you go get dressed and then we want to talk to you, okay?"

"Okay." And she headed back to her room to dress for the day.

Olivia looked at Natalia sheepishly. "You were saying?"

"Yeah, about that. So, Em's awake."

"I noticed." Climbing out of bed to find their PJ's Olivia tossed Natalia hers while she quickly slipped her own back on and headed to the restroom. Coming out of the bathroom Natalia greeted her with a kiss before heading in to do her morning routine. When she returned she found Olivia back in bed under the covers with Emma snuggled up to her side.

Emma looked at her with a bit of worry on her face. "What do you guys need to talk to me about? Is it bad? Am I in trouble?"

Natalia eased in on the other side on Emma and hugged the girl close. "No Jellybean it's nothing bad. Mommy and I just need to tell you something." She looked at Olivia to take the lead.

Grabbing Natalia's hand, Olivia looked into the innocent face of her daughter. "Em, remember yesterday when we were talking about the butterflies in your tummy."

"Yeah, I get them for Steven."

"Well, Natalia and I have butterflies too. We have them for each other."

"Really mommy? You have butterflies for Natalia?"

"Yes baby, great big giant ones."

"And Natalia, you have them for mommy?"

"Oh yeah. They are so big I think they might actually be bats."

Laughing Emma poked Natalia in her tummy. "You're silly Natalia."

Olivia drew the young girl's attention back to her. "Do you understand what this means Jellybean?"

"Yeah, it means that you love Natalia and Natalia loves you. Does this means I really do have two mommies now?"

"Yes Jellybean. That is exactly what it means."

Turning her gaze to Natalia, Emma spoke in a small voice. "Does this mean you wont leave us Natalia? Do we get to stay at the farmhouse forever now?"

Cupping Emma's face in her hand Natalia fought back the happy tears threatening to fall. "Oh sweetie, I would never leave you. You and your mommy are my family. I love you both so, so much and yes, you get to stay here with me forever."

"Yay! I'm hungry. Can we have breakfast now?"

Laughing Olivia tickled her daughters belly. "Yes Jellybean, we can have breakfast now. Why don't you head down and we will be there in a minute."

Emma leapt from the bed and her loud footsteps could be heard bounding down the stairs.

Olivia pulled Natalia into her arms giving her a quick kiss. "Well, that went well. She seems to be happy about this."

"Yes she does. I don't think that could have gone any better or that I could be any happier." She stated with a happy smile. Dimples on full display.

Taking her face in her hands Olivia pulled her down into a searing kiss. A kiss meant to convey all the love she has. A kiss that spoke of joy. A kiss that filled both their hearts with contentment and the love for their family.
