Location: Gabite's treasure chamber.

Well, Pancham had lured us into a trap, just as I'd suspected. Turns out the territory we'd stumbled into was Gabite's, and he wasn't pleased when we told him we needed some red stones. Maybe Pancham had come down here before and attempted to get some, only for Gabite to scare him off.

It was a quick fight thanks to a Blast Seed we found that did 100 damage points to Gabite. Lyra and Gabite's "Drilbur Compatriots" convinced him to calm down long enough to see he'd made rash assumptions about us being thieves. After Lyra explained that we only wanted to look if taking the red stones was too unacceptable, Gabite brought us here to his treasure chamber. And what a chamber it is!

Beautiful glistening jewels of various colors protruded from the walls and floor! Vibrant greens, purples, blues, yellows, reds, oranges…so distinct and astonishing! Plus, a light from a hole in the cave rooftop shined sunlight on the gems, making them sparkle brilliantly.

I feel calm looking at all these jewels. I feel…serene, just as I had upon seeing Serene Village atop that hill with Nuzleaf. Gabite said collecting jewels is a hobby of his. I don't blame him for wanting to fight off thieves – he must've worked very hard to fill the chamber like this!

Lyra seems really excited as well. Seeing the treasure room put an adorable sparkle in her eyes, and she's bouncing up and down all excited-like thanking me, the Drilbur, and Gabite for letting her experience this.

It's nice to see her so hyped. We came here only to humor Pancham's stupid request, but this...this was worth it. I'm glad we did this.

I stated that I didn't know there were so many different types of vibrant jewels in the world. I knew of amethysts, topazes, emeralds, sapphires, rubies and diamonds, but...I didn't recognize the crystals in Gabite's collection. He found that amusing and replied that there are many jewels that portray a plethora of emotions just like flower bouquets.

Gabite pointed at a pink jewel and said that it's a tourmaline gemstone. He went on to explain how pink tourmaline represents several positive things from healing to reconciliation to calming anxieties to opening one's heart to love.

Honestly...it just looks like a pink rock to me. But hey, I won't judge. It's still really pretty.

Upon learning that the stones could have potential meaning, Lyra started begging Gabite to let her come back sometime so he could teach her what each stone means. She added on that if she discovered any jewels in her travels that she'd be happy to share them with him in exchange for his knowledge. He looked apprehensive at first, but upon hearing her offer his face morphed into genuine shock.

Was she being serious? She'd share her treasure with him?

Lyra said it wasn't a big deal. "Jewels are just jewels. I prefer enjoying the experience of finding amazing things like this as opposed to having keepsakes. But if they make you happy, then of course you can have them!"

Gabite was really moved by her offer, and agreed to share what knowledge he had. Jazzed to have made a new friend, Lyra was excitedly shouting at me in a voice so high-pitched that I couldn't even tell what she was saying. All I could do was smile crookedly at her.

Now Gabite's talking to Lyra about how his hobby came to be while I'm taking the time to write this. I get the feeling we'll be leaving soon, so I'm gonna stop writing for now so I can take in the room while I can.

Well worth it, indeed!
