A/N: Alright, school's starting up again soon, but I'm taking creative writing so hopefully it won't be too hard to continue writing these. At the very least, I'm gonna try!

Wu approached his brother. "It's been awhile."

"Yes, it has, brother." Garmadon narrowed his eyes before raising his four arms with a maniacal grin. "What took you so long?"

Just as Garmadon was about to launch into the typical villain monologue, Wu quickly declared "It's about your son."

"My son?!" Garmadon screeched. "What's wrong? What happened? Is he okay?!"

Wu held up his hands for his brother to slow down. "There's a lot to tell you, but, at the moment, he is okay."

*A brief moment of ninja intervention*

"It's so weird now that we know you're a nindroid, I mean, don't get me wrong, it's super cool, but now I'm just thinking stuff like 'this explains the strange behavior, and how long you can hold your breath' and stuff."

Zane smiled, but rolled his eyes at Jay. "Aren't you more shocked by Cole unlocking his true potential?"

"Nope. Saw that coming."

Zane huffed softly.

*Back to the snakes*

Scales triumphantly slithered into his home, laughing as he hugged his wife. "Ssselma, we did it! We got the sssecond fangblade!"

"That'sss great, dear."

Lloyd perked up, hesitantly inquiring "What exactly are these 'fangblades' for?"

After glancing at his wife - who mouthed 'not in front of junior' - Skales motioned for Lloyd to follow him outside.

The two stuck close to their house, since the streets were bustling with traffic. "Alright," Skales began. "The four fangbladesss are ssso we can unleasshh the Great Devourer, ssso we may exsstract revenge upon thossse who imprisssoned us yearsss ago."

Tilting his head to the side, a worried look crossed Lloyd's face. "But... are those people still alive? And why is it called the Great Devourer?"

Skales frowned. "Well... It'sss called the Great Devourer because, once releasssed, it will devour everything. And-"

"Everything?!"

"Yesss, everything."

Tears started pouring out of the boy's eyes as he tightly wrapped his arms around Skales for the first time. "But- but- you're so nice! All of you guys are! You don't deserve to be devoured!"

"What are you going on about?" An eavesdropping passerby inquired.

"I don't want you all to be devoured!" The boy sobbed. "

What do you mean, Lloyd?" Skales gently wrapped his arms around the boy.

"It- It's gonna devou- devour everything! I don't want it to devour you!"

The two snakes glanced at one another as a crowd started to form. Mutters of 'will it?', 'but we're gonna command it... right?', 'oh, we're on the wrong ssside, aren't we?' were some of what echoed as the overall uneasiness grew. Slowly, all the snakes turned to Skales, questioning, pleading looks.

Glancing at the child sobbing in his arms, Skales hesitantly spoke. "I- I think you're right. It isss the Great Devourer, if released it will consssume everything. I- we need to ssstop thisss, now!" He tugged Lloyd away from him, just enough to look him in the eye. "It'sss alright, kid, no one'sss gonna get eaten, okay?"

Sniffling, Lloyd nodded and ran back inside when prompted.

Skales turned back to the rest of the snakes, "I sssuppossse it'sss time for a change of plansss."

*Hours later*

An exhausted Skales slipped into his home, staff in hand for the first time in months. The thin strands of moonlight were the only things to light his way.

He slithered into his and Selma's shared bed, cuddling with his already-sleeping wife.

"It's wasssn't how I expected, Ssselma," A whisper escaped his lips. "But I guesss I'm finally the ruler of the ssserpentine."

"I'm ssso glad I have you by my side."

I hope you all enjoyed! And sorry it's so short, I'm already working on the next chapter (which is one of my favorites) so I'm gonna try and get it out before school starts up!
