Hayley Marshall was watching her precious Hope fight Malivore. Her baby was only eighteen and she had gone through so much. It seemed like from the moment she was conceived she was destined to be fighting. First, to be born, to live to be with her family, enemy after enemy even after so many years.
Hayley can admit that half of them weren't even Klaus' fault. As easy as it was to blame the older hybrid, but most of the enemies that faced them weren't his fault.
Hayley watched as Hope jumped into Malivore, tears streaming down her face. Was this really her daughter's fate? The reason for her birth and existence, was she born for the sole purpose of stopping this monster? Hayley wouldn't believe this, she will never believe it.
She and Klaus had many hopes and dreams for their daughter. They wanted her to be a happy and innocent girl, to have the life they didn't have.
No matter how much the two had tried, Hope's childhood wasn't the ideal one that her family envisioned for her. Her daughter and family had suffered unimaginable pain and loss. A millennium of being together and the Mikealson family is now destroyed.
Sure, Freya Rebekah and Kol were all still alive but they aren't the same without Klaus and Elijah to guide and protect them. Those three didn't know how to be a family on their own. Hence why Hope is left all alone with only Freya looking after her. Hayley was disappointed in Rebekah and Kol for not checking more on Hope, being active in her life and on the three for not being the support that Hope needed after the loss of her parents.
Elijah would have been there, he would have never left Hope to face any of this alone. He would have looked after Hope for Hayley and Klaus's sake at least.
Hayley stood on the platform overlooking the portal to Malivore waiting and praying for Hope to emerge, she waited and waited. Hours turned to days, the days to months. Others had waited with her. Jackson, Josh, her parents, even some of her pack members but they all drifted away for a reason or another, checking on her and Hope from time to time but Hayley waited not moving, her eyes fixed on the portal not willing to give up on Hope. Her daughter is special, she is a fighter.
Hope had promised her that she won't die for a long time, that she will live her life to the fullest and come with interesting stories, and then she saw it. Hope was out of Malivore. She knelt beside her daughter's unconscious body, running ghostly hands through her daughter's hair.
Hayley cried in joy, sobs intermingled with laughter as her eyes racked her daughter visage in relief and happiness. Hope was back and safe. Hayley couldn't be happier as she took her daughter's hand in hers, well, tried but her hands passed her with no effect. Then it happened, she felt a spark but it disappeared in a second.
Hayley was following her daughter, trying to comfort her when she was engulfed by a blinding bright light. She couldn't see anything, she went numb as her mind and soul were filled and engulfed by the light at the same time.
She woke up to the sounds of soft murmur, noticing the familiar sight of the catacombs, her brain registering where she was. Her heart was rapidly beating and her breathing was short and fast. That was the second thing to register in Hayley's fuzzy mind, she was dead. She didn't have a heartbeat anymore, and then it came to her. This wasn't the afterlife anymore.
This place was clearly the Lafayette Cemetery. She moved to sit up, looking around. She was laying on a makeshift bed. She looked down at herself, she was dressed in dark skinny jeans, a white top under a striped cardigan with brown calf-high boots and a black feather necklace. The outfit too was familiar, she noted absently, and so was the face of the witch standing in front of her.
Sophie Deveraux was standing in front of her, talking to a woman that Hayley realized was one of the witches who brought her to meet Elijah the first time. She never learned her name but she will forever remember her face. This day and Hope birth will be forever burned in her memory.
Her hand moved to her lower abdomen in apprehension. Hope! Why isn't she with her daughter? Why is she here? Moving her hand to her chest, she felt her heartbeat fast. She was alive in Lafayette Cemetery the day she met Elijah.
She was back in the past, over eighteen years in the past. She was alive! Hope isn't born, Klaus, Elijah, Jackson, Josh and all her deceased pack members are alive. Dahlia is alive and Esther is trying to come back.
But she is alive and breathing! She didn't realize that she was hyperventilating or that she was convulsing uncontrollably until a panicked and frightened Sophie was by her side holding her, her witch friends beside her murmuring frantically as they tried to soothe her.
Hayley wasn't the type to panic, and she was proud of her ability to adapt, act and survive. of looking after herself and adapting to any situation, but she was scared and freaking out. She struggled and fought off her feelings, she needs to focus. She is a freaking Hybr. ... God freaking dammit. She wasn't a hybrid anymore, just a werewolf, but she will not be defenceless like she is right now.
She has to get herself under control, she might hurt Hope. She shuddered at the thought. taking a deep breath she wrestled for control over her body and emotions letting go and clearing her mind and mentally thanking Elijah for his lessons in control.
It took her minutes to calm down and for her body to return to any simpleness of normalcy. She was back in time, her head was swirling with thoughts. She was back at the beginning, she and her family didn't make all those mistakes, they didn't lose too much and suffer as much yet. Her daughter hadn't been born from death and blood and nearly been sacrificed, where their family and her daughter's lives were torn apart. None of it had happened yet, she can make a better future for her daughter, isn't that what she wished for? To give Hope a better life? She is back and she now has the chance to do just that.
Whoever or whatever brought her back must have done it for a reason. Hayley had a feeling it had to do with Malivore and if it did, if she got this chance in exchange for destroying Malivore then she would, even if she had to destroy herself.
She is back, and god help her she will change their fates, all of their fates. She was Hayley Marshall, Andrea Labonair, the Crescent Queen. She's unstoppable, nothing and no one will stand in her way.
"Hayley... Hayley, can you hear me?" Sophie's brown eyes were on her as she gently stroked her arms, her face scared and pale. "Do you feel better? Is there any pain anywhere" she asked frantically.
Swallowing with difficulty through her parched throat, Hayley answered in controlled mumbles. "No... no there's no pain. I think it's a reaction to something. Did you put wolfsbane in my food?" she questioned with a glare.
"No, we didn't, we didn't want to harm the baby." Sophie denied with a headshake. "I think it's stress. You have been wound up so tightly the past few days and stress isn't good in your case."
"Yeah, I guess it isn't," Hayley answered tiredly.
"It's okay, I'm going to meet Elijah now, this will be over soon. Hopefully, he made Klaus see reason." Sophie told her with a reassuring nod.
"Hopefully." Hayley nodded weakly.
"I'm going out you can rest now," Sophie said calmly, she sent the witches a nod and a meaningful glance, and closed the gate behind her.
And that's what Hayley did, she rested her tired and clammy body against the wall and closed her eyes feeling drained and physically exhausted.
Half an hour later, Sophie Walked in with Elijah. He was wearing an immaculate personally tailored suit, his hair was combed back to perfection, his beautiful face was still as she remembered. But what struck her the most were his eyes. They were the same warm brown that she missed so much, filled with hope and anticipation. His eyes were less burdened, less guilty, his face wasn't set in it's usual hard and emotionless expression that was the norm in their last days. He looked at her like he did the first time, like she was a miracle bringer, an angel that descended from Heaven to redeem him and his family.
Hayley was a selfish woman, she knew and acknowledged that fact. She even passed it a little onto Hope before life had taught her daughter lessons in selflessness and sacrifice the hard way, by losing most of her loved ones.
She was proud of Hope for learning from her mistakes, for always striving to be a better person. She wants to be more like her daughter. No, she will be like her daughter. She will do anything for her loved ones, put more effort, and maybe be a little less of a bitch to Klaus and try to understand him more.
But, she is selfish in her love for Elijah, even after all the pain, the hardships and betrayals of the past life, one look from him made her weak in the knees. Made her want to blush and smile goofily at him at the same time, he was the love of her life that she knew. But this wasn't the Elijah Hayley knew. This wasn't the man who had seen the worst of her, been there to support her through the worst that life had thrown at them, wasn't the man who loved her unconditionally... she cut off that though not wanting to sink deeper into the abyss that is her and Elijah.
She needed to focus to get out of here, rest and get her act together. She needed a plan, she needed to think about where to take it from here and where to start a change. But for now, she needed to focus on keeping everything consistent with the past.
She had the advantage of the knowledge of eighteen years in the future, she couldn't jeopardize this.
Elijah was led by the Deveraux witch, Sophie, to where the mother of his brother's child was held captive. He listened attentively as she made her plan and goals clear and set her Boundaries, all the while thinking what the witch's purpose in this was.
Why not just kill Marcel themselves? He is not an original and much as he wants to be a Mikealson, he had lost that right the moment he faked his death. The pain and loss he put them all through, especially Klaus and Rebekah, they had mourned him, hated their father even more and swore to avenge him, all the while he was living in their home, using their name, and running the kingdom that he and Klaus built by blood and sacrifices. Marcel would be dealt with, even if he had to deal with French Quarter coven witches. He hated them, their superiority complex and their nosy and treacherous tendencies. No witch of this blasted coven was as outstanding as Céleste was, nor would there be for a long time.
But now, he had his family to consider, the child this woman is carrying is their salvation, their second chance. A gift that he will not let any harm come to it or its mother, this child is his brother's last chance at redemption.
He followed Sophie Deveraux and entered the cell to find the girl leaning in the wall weakly, looking pale and exhausted. Frowning in worry, he sped towards her and leaned in to examine her delicate face. Her light olive skin was now several shades paler, her eyes hooded with dark shadows and she looked exhausted.
"What's wrong with her?" He demanded harshly, giving his most vicious and threatening glare to the three witches, especially Sophie Deveraux. He noticed with satisfaction as the three shrunk back in fear, their faces and eyes filled with terror.
Sophie was the first one to regain her composure, earning a lick of respect from him. More fierce and powerful foes had cowered under his glare. "She wasn't feeling well, I will bring a friend to check on her later, she's a doctor." Sophie hastily assured, raising her hands pleadingly.
The girl opened her hazel green eyes, but instead of fear and weariness, there was a deep-rooted trust and familiarity.
"Hello there," He greeted with a polite smile trying to soothe the poor girl's nerves. She answered with a tiny smile before turning to Sophie.
"Can I get out of this decrypt place now that you get what you want?" Hayley demanded with a cold glare towards Sophie. "This is not a good place for a pregnant woman, I don't want another episode from before."
Elijah looked between the two women, weary. The werewolf laid a protective palm on her womb, her eyes promising retaliation if she was denied. She was a beautiful warrior with the aura of a Queen, she was a woman who was used to being respected. "We can't..." Sophie started.
"I'm leaving this place and you won't be stopping me. If you hurt me I get to hurt you back. You need me and my baby alive and well, so you won't stop me by force." The werewolf said as she got up on her legs, shakily swaying in her place. Elijah's hand shot out and caught her elbow to support her. She smiled before her attention went back to the witch.
Sophie opened her mouth to deny her and Hayley raised her chin in defiance, her back straightening and her shoulders relaxing into a deceivingly calm stance.
"Release her to me," Elijah started with a smile to the girl, and turned with a serious face towards Sophie. "As a token of good faith, the girl is carrying my family. Therefore she is my family."
"Can you not talk about me like I'm not here?" Hayley questioned with an eye roll.
"Forgive us," Elijah replied with a lopsided smile, managing to suppress his mirth at the young girl's indignation. "Let her go back with me, you have done what you needed to do to keep her safe. Let me do the same, I assure you there is no one stronger."
Sophie looked toward them and nodded finally. The girl stepped to the gate to get out of there when he noticed that she had her arms crossed over her chest, rubbing them rhythmically to ward off the Cold.
"Wait," He hurried to stop her. Hayley halted and eyed him with silent expectation in her hazel eyes. He shrugged off the jacket of his suit and held it out for her. "There is a chill out there, please." He urged her softly when she stood there, her eyes in his as if looking into his soul. She smiled like she knew him and all his secrets like she expected this from him and had been waiting for this moment.
Hayley turned her back to and he carefully put the jacket on her dainty shoulders. "I guess chivalry isn't dead." She turned back slowly with a sarcastic smile. " Just a little damn late to the party." Elijah smiled back, amused by her snide humour. Her smile turned genuine for a moment before the cold defensive facade was back.
Hayley made to move to the gate and he followed closely behind her shielding her, but they were stopped by Sophie. "If Klaus betrays us, Hayley will die. You have my word in that." Sophie threatened, her eyes hard and her face was filled with determination.
Elijah was mildly impressed by this Woman's mental fortitude, to threaten an original let alone two, and to do so so many times in the span of two days was a feat no one ever accomplished before her. Mostly because they end up as corpses on the floor missing a vital organ or bleeding to death. But he was filled with anger and protectiveness. No one threatened his family, especially not this child.
"Then I will give you my word," Elijah started with a calm face, his voice smooth. He noticed the corners of the werewolf girl's mouth lift up a little, her eyes glinting with comprehension as she watched them with interest. "We will be your partners, we will end Marcel's reign. But know this, if anything whatsoever happens to this girl or the unborn child, you needn't fear Marcel, nor Klaus, nor anyone more than you will fear me."
Hayley and Elijah's eyes met once more and she sent him a brilliant smile, her eyes sparkling with gratitude and trust. It warmed Elijah's heart to know that there was a part of her that trusts him. With a simple goodbye to Sophie, he made his way to the waiting wolf and the two of them made their way out of the tomb to the Cemetery. He took her arm gently, stopping her. She stopped and turned to him calmly but he didn't miss the small will hidden tremors on their contact.
"Are you alright?". He asked in concern, his mind going back to the episode she mentioned before and Sophie Deveraux's panicked expression.
"You are the first one to ask me that since the beginning of this ordeal. You are the first one to ask me that in a very long time, actually." Hayley answered. She had a melancholic and lost look in her face that tugged at Elijah's heart. He pitted her, she was just a defenceless woman who was pulled into the danger and madness that is his family.
"Look thank you, I'm really indebted to you, for my child's life. But I want a word with your brother." Her expression closed off again. She averted her gaze from his and continued to walk out of the tomb and the cemetery.
Elijah drove to the plantation with Hayley in the passenger seat, an awkward silence filling the confined space. Hayley was looking out the window lost in thought her hands fisted in her lab.
He parked the car and escorted her inside, mentally making a note to call Niklaus the second that Hayley is Resting. He had an ominous feeling about this conversation.
New Orleans :
The Mikaelsons plantation :
Hayley looked around the familiar enormous mansion, the house held many memories. Her hands itched to touch the familiar objects around, some of them were destroyed in a fight or by accident in a tantrum fit the family loved. She maintained a politely curious expression as Elijah led her around the mansion like the courteous and amiable host that he was, showing her around the dust-filled house.
She looked around in dismay, was the house this dusty last time? She remembered noting the house's pitiable condition but it was spotless when she woke up the next day so she ended up dismissing the whole thing. Now, as tired as she was, she noticed that her room which Elijah had someone prepare was already cleaned and fitted with all necessities. She sat on the bed and gestured to Elijah to sit in one of the chairs, he obliged with a polite smile and a nod.
"Could you call your brother here please?" Hayley requested politely.
"I was planning to have him here after you rest, I'm sure these past few days weren't comfortable for you," Elijah informed her calmly.
"Well, no need, I'm already here," Klaus announced as he entered the room.
Hayley gave him a warm tender smile that the Klaus of her time would have shuddered from.
"And just in time, please come in." Hayley invited politely. The two brothers were eyeing her in wariness.
"You wanted to speak with Niklaus, am I right to assume it had to do with the child?" Elijah inquired with forced calmness.
"And you will be right in your assumption," Hayley answered Elijah with a nod, before turning and addressing Klaus who was still standing by the door in apprehension. "Why are you still standing there? I assure you I don't bite."
Klaus entered the room warily, looking at his brother in silent inquiry. The two Brothers had a silent conversation between them.
"So we meet again, I talked with Elijah...". Klaus's words were cut off when Hayley moved to stand in front of him, him slapping him across the face.
Elijah stood up in a flash looking both shocked and worried. Klaus was silent, his face turned from the slap, his cheek that was already healed, his mouth was opened slightly from shock.
"Brother," Elijah sped to his brother's side, holding his arm in a restraining grip.
"You dare!" . Klaus cut him off with a growl as he lunged at her.
Hayley waited in anticipation, instincts from years of training and fighting. She pulled one of the chopsticks that the witch's brought her lunch with and in a flash before he could defend himself, she stabbed one in his neck and one a centimetre below his heart. He stared at her in shock and disbelief, she sent him a sweet angelic smile in return. "This for my baby, no one threatens my child's lives. Not even the father."
"Hayley Marshall, you will…" Klaus growled, his eyes golden, shining with the urge to kill.
Hayley smirked and pressed the chopstick deeper into his chest brushing his heart. "Listen here and you better understand each word I say. My baby's life is a redline, you threaten or treat it with anything but upmost importance, you will be dead. I know at least seven ways to kill an original and I will be happy to remove you from my child's life."
"Miss Marshall, could you please-" Elijah tried to interfere.
"Elijah, I'm talking to my baby daddy, let me have a moment with him please." She cut him off gently giving the stunned original a soothing smile before turning back to Klaus. "I honestly don't care what type of crazy murderous psychopath you are. I didn't meet a single well-adjusted vampire in my life and, believe me, I have seen and killed my share of those to protect my pack. You have a choice, either you get your psychotic bratty self together and strive to be a better father, or, I walk out of this city with this child, and in a year or two we can discuss visitation rights or if you have a part in their life." She threatened.
"I won't be threatened by the like of you, you will not use this child to twist my arm t…" Klaus roared, his hands flying to her neck and squeezing angrily.
"Niklaus!" Elijah yelled, putting his hand on Klaus' arm and squeezed tightly in warning.
Hayley moved her hands to his neck, choking him in return, her eyes turning gold. "Shut up and listen you crazy, murder happy, son of a bitch. I meant every word I said. My parents abandoned me, your parents are abusive crazy maniacs. I refuse to let our child live such a life. I want a promise from you now if you won't love this child and work to give them a better life than ours, then you don't have a place in it." Hayley growled in return stunning the Hybrid who looked into her eyes with shock and begrudging respect.
Klaus let her go with a growl. When she swayed a little, Elijah hurried to support her, his arm wrapping around her and his hand was on her neck, checking on the forming bruise. She put her hand on his and patted in reassurance. "It's okay, the baby's blood will heal it in a second."
The two looked at her with Baffled expressions That turned to awe as the Bruise healed in a second slowly but surely.
"Did that just happen?" Klaus asked in shock and disbelief. His blue eyes were focused on her. He moved closer to examine her neck.
"Your healing factor, our healing, the baby has a vampire gene," Elijah whispered in awe, his finger touched her neck delicately like he was afraid of hurting her.
"I know that, it healed my hand after Sophie's little show yesterday. I kept it hidden as much as I can but they will find out soon enough and they will turn against it." Hayley informed the two brothers, remembering how the witches tried to sacrifice Hope.
"This baby is their only leverage against us, they won't dare to touch it." Klaus denied.
"We'll see." She easily agreed, knowing that arguing this point now was a useless and tiresome venture that could be tackled later. "I know that you're looking into the witches' real motive in this and how Marcel is oppressing them…" She started calmly, looking between the two Originals.
"Don't worry about this, you need to focus on yours and the baby's health, Niklaus and I will take care of this." Elijah cut her off gently as he led her to bed and sat her there.
"But I already know," Hayley told them in a hurry. She wouldn't let Klaus dagger Elijah this time, even if he met and allied with Davina, the risk is too much.
"What do you mean you know? What do you know, little wolf?" Klaus demanded, and in a second he was in front of her.
"I know why the witch's want Marcel out of town, and I also know how Marcel controls the witches." She elaborated as she took off her boots and laid on the pillows behind her, and let out a tired sigh.
"And what do you want in exchange for this information?" Klaus continued calmly, his eyes gleaming.
"Nothing but you refraining from your rash action. I met you in Mystic Falls, I know all about your plans and tactics; they are nearly as bad as Damon Salvatore's." Hayley commented with a snort, Elijah let out a chuckle and leaned in the chair to watch them with open amusement.
Klaus' face soured from the comparison. "Then out with it already."
She let out a sigh but answered anyway. "A friend of mine told me this curious story. Two years ago the witches of New Orleans prepared for a ritual, especially the witches of the French Quarter coven. They prepared for a ritual called the Harvest, have either of you heard of it before?"
"I have never heard of such a ritual before, Niklaus?" Elijah answered with a frown.
"Neither have I, brother." Klaus denied with a head shake. the two turned to her with curiosity clear on their faces.
"The ritual needs the participation of four young girls who meet the ancestor's demand and represent the four aspects of nature. The four will be sacrificed to the ancestors in a stage called The Harvest where the power of every witch killed will go to the other until they are all killed. After a year the girls will be resurrected as a reward and the ancestors will give them more power for three hundred years, then the Ritual will be started again." She explained with disgust, her chest burning with hatred at the mention of the ancestors and The Harvest
"To think that the witches of New Orleans would stoop to such levels." Elijah lamented with disgust.
Klaus nodded in agreement. "Power can turn the purest of souls into monsters, brother, those witches are on their way to be dangerous ones."
"The thing is these witches didn't know that they were to be killed, they were told that they will be put to sleep and wake up in a year where they will learn from the ancestors." She continued with a furious growl .
"And when I thought it can't get any more disturbing." Elijah sighed as he rubbed his nose tiredly.
"The four girls found out in the ritual when they watched their friends being slaughtered, their families had known all along. No one would step-up and save them. Only Sophie Deveraux, whose niece was one of the Harvest witches, tried but was stopped." She took a deep breath before continuing. " Father Keiran O'Connell, the leader of the human faction and collector of powerful dark artifacts that your brother Kol created, tipped off Marcel in hope that he would save the girls."
"He arrived before they killed the last Harvest Girl, Davina Claire. He saved her and is using her to know which witch is using magic through her connection to the ancestors. she is the last Harvest Girl and has the power of all four, if they don't sacrifice her then …"
"They can't get their power or the girls back." Klaus and Elijah finished in unison.
"That will explain why Jane-Anne Deveraux will go to such lengths to secure our help." Klaus murmured as he paced around the room.
"Her daughter's life is on the line," Elijah concluded. "And the witches are helping her to return their power."
"Marcel is using this Davina as a weapon against the witches." Klaus continued with a dark growl. "He drove the werewolves to the Bayou, how?"
"I have a lead, a suspicion to be more specific," Hayley answered nervously, wetting her lips with her tongue.
"We will be happy to listen to it, Miss Marshall." Elijah encouraged me with a smile, pressing when she stayed silent. "Please."
She prayed her plan would work. Sorry, Hope, I have no other choice, baby. "In the crypt, one of the witches, Sabine, gave me a weird vibe," She answered with uncertainty.
"She has dark hair, dark skin and brown eyes. I got that from her too, when we met before." Elijah nodded in understanding. Hayley sighed as she looked at the silent and curious Klaus.
"Then she touched me, and I swear the baby did something because when her skin touched mine. I could see faces and hear names." She said with as much confidence as she could, pulling a nervous and scared look.
"Can you describe those faces and remember the names?" Klaus questioned.
"There were a lot of names. Isabella Jeffery, Rachel lA Barre, and many others until the name of Brynne Deveraux. I saw her face and I saw the curse she put on the wolves. She reserved the original curse so the pack can return to their human form in the full moon and stay wolves for the rest of the month. But, the oldest and I'm sure she was named Céleste Dubois."
"That can't be," Elijah said, his face pale.
"That witch is dead." Klaus denied.
"Do you know who those witches are?" She asked with feigned innocence, internally thanking Rebekah and Katherine for teaching her how to lie.
"Not most of them, but Céleste was a past lover of mine who is dead," Elijah explained.
"Not dead enough apparently, she killed other witches and stole their bodies," Klaus screamed in outrage, throwing a chair at the wall where it shattered to pieces some of which flew towards her.
Hayley let out a small scream and closed her eyes but wasn't hit by the stray shards. She opened my eyes to find herself in Elijah's embrace, protectively shielding her.
"Niklaus," He growled out in warning at the wide-eyed and shocked Klaus, who eyed her worriedly. "Control your temper."
"My apologies, brother, I didn't mean to scare her or hurt the baby." Klaus apologized.
"It's okay, I will freak out too if one of my enemies came back to life," Hayley assured. "So you already have an enemy in the out for you, and believe me she is mad at the two of you. Especially Elijah, she has an impressive grudge against you, and she is already plotting our death. Great. Which makes it what now?"
"The Deveraux sisters and their coven," Hayley stated with a sigh.
"Marcel, his army and powerful witch." Klaus crossed his arms in defiance.
"Céleste," Elijah choked out.
"And the Ancestors, and your mother who won't stop trying from the other side until you are all dead." She finished with a nod. Those are the immediate threats she had to deal with for now.
"We need a plan," Hayley stated, then looked at Klaus who was sending a guilty look at Elijah. "Out with it."
"Watch it, little wolf, just because I can't kill you doesn't mean I will tolerate such behaviour." Klaus threatened with a growl.
"Niklaus," Elijah reproached before he sighed in resignation. "We need to work together. We are trapped from all sides with enemies after us. What is your plan?"
"Your plan worked, I'm now a trusted but cautioned guest in Marcel's inner circle. He's wary of one original but scared of two." Klaus explained. "I planned to dagger you and give you to Marcel as a peace offering, Marcel will have leverage and I can work in decimating his army and secret weapon in secret."
"You planned to dagger me?" Elijah asked in outrage.
"You planned to give your brother to the enemy." Hayley cried in outrage. too, still angry at Klaus's action after all the years.
"It was just a distraction, I will never leave you in Marcel's mercy. He knows that I would never make a move against him with you in his hands, you are leverage over me." Klaus hurriedly explained. "I already have a plan to get you back as soon as possible."
Elijah growled at him. "You are insufferable. Niklaus, I can't even trust you with my back."
"Elijah... you know that I will n…" Klaus tried to explain.
"Save it." Elijah cut him off with a glacial look, his expression stony.
"I think that as morbid and scary as your brother's methods are, he would never let you suffer in Marcel's hands. He is a wolf, we don't let go of family and pack. He would kill Marcel to return you." Hayley interfered between the two fighting siblings, giving Klaus a hand. He gave her a wary but thankful look, before nodding firmly to Elijah in agreement.
Elijah was silent for a moment looking into Klaus' eyes. "Fine. I believe you, you will give me the dagger, Niklaus, and not in my heart. No more backstabbing, brother, or I swear the moment you take that dagger out will be the last time you see me again." Elijah promised darkly.
"I give you my word, brother." Klaus agreed immediately.
"We will see." Elijah returned stiffly.
"Now that we established my only ally and trusted person in this family isn't going to disappear mysteriously anytime soon, what is the new plan?" She asked the two.
"For now, nothing, we need to rest and find out more about our enemies before we move." Klaus shook his head with a sigh, messaging his forehead.
"You need to rest, we can talk more in the morning." Elijah addressed her as the two brothers moved to the door.
Hayley took off her cardigan and laid back in the bed, mentally planning her next moves. She needed to retrieve her car and belongings from the Bayou, get a new phone and contact some of her allies and form new alliances earlier than before. She needed to bring back Kol, gain Davina's trust, get rid of Agnes, Sabine/Céleste before she set her plans in motion, counterattack against Esther, Finn and Mikeal, She needed to get Freya on their side as soon as possible, Set up plans against Dahlia, Tristan, Lucian and Aurora. Save and ally with the Gemini Coven, set up Hope school with the standards that she wants and her baby deserves. all of that in the next five years. Damn, she had her work cut out for her.
