A/N: Sorry this is a day late, I only realized after I'd posted on Saturday that I generally try to avoid posting on Sundays, so... enjoy some fluff?
Review Replies!:
GermanShepherdDogGSD: In that case, you'll probably love this chapter!
ScarlettParker15: Thank you so much! I don't much know what else to say other than I'm really glad you're enjoying this fic! And the way the ninja are currently finding about Lloyd's powers? Yeah, let's just say that they'll be pretty surprised a lot!
LiaLovegood29: Don't worry, I've got 'complete' plans almost halfway through season 2, and vague plans for the other seasons. At most this fanfic will go on a long hiatus.
No, no no nonono!
This could not be happening!
He couldn't move as Kai accused him of holding the power.
Couldn't move as each ninja gently set their golden weapons around him.
Tried and failed to stop his power from flowing, barely delaying it for a few, painful seconds.
"Lloyd is the-"
"NO!" Finally, he could move again. Arms - his arms - shoved the golden weapons away, stopping the horribly comfortable flow of power. As he ran, ducking through room after room, the sound of footsteps tailed him. "Lloyd!" "Where are you going?" "What's wrong?!'
Maybe he could abandon ship.
Ahead of him, he summoned his power to the far corner of the hall, blowing a small hole in the wood. As he reached it, he realized that it had not gone all the way through; rather, it had revealed a hollow pocket within the hull of the Bounty. It wasn't an escape, but it would certainly delay the ninja in getting to him - possibly long enough for him to come up with a real plan.
"Get outta my way. Go on, get! Back up with you!"
His father, right. He'd forgotten the man was there.
As several sets of footsteps retreated, Lloyd slowly peeked his head through the hole. Only Garmadon was in the hallway. The way his face knit together, relaxing as his eyes' met Lloyd's, reminded him of Selma when she worried.
"You okay, Lloyd?"
He nodded, slowly climbing out of the little hole and into his father's arms.
"There we go, just breathe kid. Just breathe. Your uncle told me everything."
Blinking away the water that had begun to form, he tilted his head, wide eyes gazing into his father's.
"Wu- did some investigating. I'm sure he didn't find everything, but… I know that you didn't get most of my letters, and I know why."
He- he knew? How? Why did Wu even look? How had
"Is there anything that helps you calm down? Some kind of fidget toy or something?"
What was a fidget toy? "G-Gren helps…?" He swallowed. "Promise you… won't hurt him?"
"I would never." The huff was soft and light, accompanied by a smile.
Lloyd held out his hands, Gren quickly forming in the air and plopping down onto his palms. The tiny dragon wrapped himself around his friend's shoulders, sniffing at Garmadon.
Speak of the devil, the father was staring wide-eyed at the tiny dragon. It took a couple minutes to close his mouth. "Huh- Hi, Gren."
As Garmadon gently pet the dragon, he stated "You know, I've got my own elemental dragon."
"Really?"
Garmadon easily scooped him and the dragon, carrying them into the nearest room - which just happened to be the ninjas' sleeping quarters. After setting the two down black, void sparks shot around his fingertips, spreading throughout the room in the form of a long, snake-like dragon. After a moment - and a drop of sweat falling from Garmadon's brow - the elegant, midnight eastern dragon flickered into existence, red eyes landing on the tiny dragon. ~Baby!~ It scooped up the tiny dragon as Garmadon scooped his own kid into his arms. Both purred to reassure the younglings before the more humanoid realized what he was doing. An awkward chuckle escaped his lips.
Eventually, the moment had to be ruined by important business.
"Lloyd?"
"Mmm?" He cocked his head in response, still watching as the two elemental dragons lightheartedly wrestled.
"You need to know, the ninja will never hurt you on purpose, okay? I trust them. Do you think you can try?"
Lloyd nodded. "But… You're leaving?"
"No! Not yet, at least. But I will one day, and then- then the ninja will have to help you prepare."
They shared one more tight hug as they recalled their dragons. Then, father gently led son back onto the deck of the ship.
The ship headed to Torchfire mountain, to destroy one of the four fangblades.
With one stowaway, determined to release the Devourer as well as show that 'little brat' why he should fear him.
Have a great day!
