Class was slow as always. Some of the other students have been complaining about how hot it is. Although it is a little warm, I think it's nice. Maybe it's because I'm a grass-type, but the nicer weather just makes me feel...good. Energized. Well, Synthesis is one of my moves, so I guess it makes sense.

Today's exploration ain't nothing special. I won't bother listing what Pokémon needs what, as that could make for some dull writing. I will say I met an interesting Pokémon in Café Connections – Victini. He seems kind of eccentric.

Nothing real serious happened during the expedition today. Victini wanted to join us and proved to be as eccentric as I'd anticipated. I caught a few eyerolls from Lyra when he'd say something nonsensical or strange, and sometimes he also did a strange pose while shouting something about a V-wheel...whatever that is.

He's strong, though. His Incinerate move proved quite useful, taking out Pokémon left and right with damage points in the 70's! It's a shame he's not always available. We could use a strong ally.

True to his word, Nuzleaf came back today and he brought a lot of food with him to boot! I told him how Carracosta and Lyra had me over for dinner last night, and to return the favor we should invite them over tonight. He thought that was a splendid idea! In addition to various fruits and veggies, he'd brought over a sack of "mysterious cooking powder" that neither him nor Carracosta had seen before. While they were staring at the contents in amazement, I was trying to contain my laughter. They were staring at flour.

Their curiosity sparked an idea in me, and I decided to make something. I probably should've mentioned this before, but there's a surprising amount of what I thought was man-made food items that exist in this world. Stuff like bread, pasta, syrup, jelly...if it can be made out of anything except meat, it exists here. Of course, it's not made nearly as efficiently as it is in my world, but the fact that it exists is baffling.

The downside is that Pokemon don't call these things the same things we do, so it can get a little...confusing. For example, jelly is called fruit paste. Bread is called yeast cake. This goes for their cooking ingredients as well, like "rock seasoning" for salt and "Pecha Berry stones" for sugar.

Luckily, Nuzleaf had brought home some uh..."yeast cake" for what I wanted to make. It took a bit of time, but when I was done I'd served them cinnamon toast sticks that they could place bits of fruit on top of, or perhaps some "maple lather" aka maple syrup. Carracosta and Nuzleaf were both particularly impressed and delighted, and Lyra was just happy to be eating something delicious. I explained that it was one of the few things I remembered from the human world.

Of course, they couldn't just call it cinnamon toast sticks. They went with "brown spiced yeast cake slices". It's a miracle that honey kept its normal name. Pokemon are weird. If the names of meals are gonna be as much of a mouthful as the actual meals, I'll just stick with fruit-based stuff from now on. Maybe I'll make loaded apples or something.

Apparently, Lyra had told Carracosta about me being human, and Nuzleaf kind of...shot me a side glance. I can tell he wasn't happy about disclosing that information, but...we need allies. The fact is that we have no answers for why I'm here, and despite "pluggin' along" like we have, we're no closer to a solution than we were on day one. We can't solve this conundrum on our own and having neighbors who know and are accepting of my past will help more than hurt. I explained that to him after Carracosta and Lyra left, but he still wasn't happy.

"You'd better hope yer choice ain't gonna cause us no future problems," he'd said before turning in for the night. What problems could arise from sharing this information with them? Nothing's happened thus far...

What is he so afraid of?

A/N: Started playing Shield again, and isn't it weird how you have things like pasta, hamburger and sausage you can add to your curry...and nobody questions it? Like, oh this hamburger meat was found on the ground? Time to cook with it and feed it to my closest allies as well as myself! Yum yum.

You never really DO see what kinda food Nuzleaf feeds you while you're living with him...I mean, it's implied it's not meat-based since Nuzleafs aren't carnivores (that I know of), but we still don't know. Probably fruits, veggies, and the likes but unless indicated otherwise I'm pluggin' some non-meat food stuff in there to make my life easier. I mean, later down the line you're tasked with feeding a certain group of Pokemon and it looks mostly like fruit-based food on the table, but the graphics make it hard to tell what certain foods are.

Fuck it! Bread and pasta are being added! You can't stop me!
