Jack: Sorry it's been 2 months since the last update. This is an original story, so there will be a lot of original chapters.

Chase: This chapter is kind of a re-do for one of Ben's adventures.

Chapter 8: Basic Training
(Bellwood Docks)
"Animo just keeps getting annoying." sighed Kaz as Gilhil pushes D'Void to his ship. The Galactic Defenders have quickly defeated D'Void and his mutant starfish before a few Plumber officers came and arrested Animo. Gilhil passed D'Void to his partners before turning to the Galactic Defenders.
"Lunason, (Kaz's made-up last name), Davenport, Brewer, and Crawford, right?" asked Gilhil as the Galactic Defenders nod, except for Ben. Gilhil took out his Plumber Badge as it projected a message in alien language in front of the Galactic Defenders.
"Um, does anyone here know how to read alien?" asked Kaz as Chase rolled his eyes before he leaned forward.
"According to this, us four are being called to Plumber Academy to complete basic training and become official Plumbers." translated Chase before Kaz excitedly grinned, Jack smiled calmly, Kim squealed, and Ben shook his head with a smile.
"Wait a minute! Us four?! Why isn't Ben coming with us?" asked Kim with a frown.
"I already became an official Plumber a few months ago." answered Ben.
"So when do we get started?" asked Jack casually.
"Tomorrow morning." answered Gilhil, shocking Kaz.
"WHAT?! But tomorrow's Saturday! And the start of Spring Break!" snapped Kaz.
"Actually, Spring Break already started when school finished today." corrected Chase, making Kaz glare at him.
"I have no problem with it." shrugged Jack.
"I agree with Jack. The dojo's closed on Spring Break anyways." agreed Kim.
"Three against one, Kaz. We're going." stated Chase as Kaz groaned in defeat.
"Fine, but since Ben won't be with us, who will be in charge of the team?" asked Kaz.
"Good point. (looks at Chase) Chase, you're in charge until you finish your training." ordered Ben as his teammates nod.
"Oh, and if you meet Tack or Hulka, tell them I said hi." added Ben as his teammates nod with raised eyebrows.
(The next day, Plumber Ship)
Kaz, Chase, Jack and Kim are riding on the ship to Plumber Academy, with the boys sitting across the girls as Kim is sitting next to Rook Shar. Shar grinned before looking at the Galactic Defenders.
"Are you four the Galactic Defenders, protectors of the universe?" asked Shar curiously, making the chosen wielders look at her surprised.
"Yeah, you heard of us?" asked Jack uncertainly.
"Of course I have! My little brother is a big fan of yours and always talks about you saving worlds during our family meetings. But why are you four going to Plumber Academy, and isn't there a fifth member of your team?" asked Shar confused.
"Our absent leader is already an official Plumber, and we need the training to become official." answered Chase as Shar nodded.
"We forgot to introduce ourselves. I'm Kim Crawford, my boyfriend in red is Jack Brewer, (Jack nods while blushing) the blue-eyed boy is Chase Davenport, (Chase waves) and the boy in black is Kaz Lunason." introduced Kim as Kaz clicked his tongue and winked before Shar waved.
"It's nice to meet you. My name is Rook Shar." introduced Shar as Kaz raised an eyebrow.
"You're named after a chess piece? That's weird." commented Kaz before Chase's eyes glowed briefly.
"Actually, from the Life-Form Database, Shar's species, the Revonnahganders, have the same first name if they're from the same family, like humans, but backwards." explained Chase as Kaz awed in understanding.
(Plumber Academy Hallway)
The incomplete group and Shar walk through the halls until the Revonnahgander bumped into Kodek.
"Sorry." apologized Shar before Kodek's 2 Alpha Squad cronies glared at her.
"You've got some nerve to run into Kodek, leader of the Alpha Squad." glared the pink fish-head crony before Kodek glared back at him.
"Cody, how many times have I told to stop that? (fish crony steps back while Kodek softly looks at Shar.) Sorry about Cody's rude behavior. I've told him to stop doing that for weeks." apologized Kodek while Shar blushes.
"It's fine. My name's Rook Shar." introduced Shar while extending her hand.
"The name's Kodek Branigen. The pink fish-head is Cody. (Cody snorts) The other one is Woody. (the wood-skinned crony glares)" introduced Kodek while shaking hands with Shar. Shar nodded before Kodek noticed the incomplete Galactic Defenders.
"Our turn for introductions. My name's Kaz Lunason." started Kaz before Woody snickered.
"Lunason? As in moon boy?" laughed Woody hysterically along with Cody, making Kaz glare at them.
"What is going on here!?" shouted Magister Hulka as he approaches the group meeting, making Cody and Woody stop laughing.
"Nothing, sir!" saluted the rude duo.
"We were just introducing ourselves, aren't we?" glared Kodek at his cronies while they nod. Hulka nodded before dismissing them as the Alpha Squad leaves.
"You 5 cadets should know my name is Magister Hulka. I'm the one in charge of this station and you cadets. (looks at Shar) You're a Revonnahgander, so I won't have to worry about you using powers since you don't have any. (Shar sighed sadly before Hulka looked at the Galactic Defenders) And none of you Galactic Defenders use your matrices during combat training because it gives you an unfair advantage. Training starts in 0900 hours. Understand?" explained Hulka before Kaz jumped on him and hysterically shook his Plumber suit collar.
"WHY WOULD YOU WANT US TO WAIT 900 HOURS?! WE'LL DIE OF BOREDOM IF WE DO THAT!" yelled Kaz while shaking Hulka before the Galactic Defenders face-palm.
"Kaz, 0900 hours meet 9 a.m." informed Chase while Kaz awed in understanding before jumping off of Hulka and nervously dusting him off. Hulka snorted as he walked away.
"Hulka, just want you to know that Ben said hi." informed Jack as Hulka nodded in response before he's out of eyesight. They continued walking as Kim gets closer to Shar.
"So, how do you want to meet Kodek?" asked Kim teasingly as Shar blushes.
"What makes you think I want to see him again?" asked Shar nervously before Kim rolled her eyes.
"Well for starters, when he apologized for his buddies, you blushed when he looked at you. And you forgot to introduce us as if we weren't with you." teased Kim as Shar glares at her playfully.
"Why would I have a crush on someone I just met?" asked Shar as Kim shrugged and dropped the subject.
"You know what the weird part is when Hulka talked to us?" asked Kaz while the girls continued their talk.
"I don't know. Maybe the fact that you shook him like a maniac." chuckled Jack along with Chase.
"Okay, besides that. I meant that he called the Dueltrix, Bakutrix and Skylatrixes matrices." informed Kaz while Chase puts his hand on his chin.
"It makes sense for him to call them matrices since we haven't came up with an official name for their official category." nodded Chase.
(Shooting Range)
The gang changed into their Plumber suits and began blaster practice with Hulka watching from behind. Kaz fired wildly at his target, Chase hit his target in the assumed heart area, Jack and Kim blasted the limbs and Shar blasted a random spot. Once they hit their targets, they put their blasters down and turned to Magister Hulka as he approaches the group.
"Congrats on hitting the target, cadets. And I couldn't help but notice a few differences in your shooting styles. Kaz Lunason was firing wildly like an animal. It's good to be unpredictable. (Kaz smiles and nods) Chase Davenport only fired at the heart area once to save ammo and knock out the target quicker since the blaster is set to stun. (Chase nods) Jack Brewer and Kim Crawford only aimed at the limbs to mess up the balance and disarming the target. (Jack and Kim nod) Rook Shar used only the most common shooting style, which is shooting a random spot. Now that you finished the shooting practice with good grades, I'm going to set up a battle simulation with the Alpha Squad to test your teamwork. Any complaints and/or questions?" asked Hulka sternly before Kaz raised his hand.
"How many members are in the Alpha Squad?" asked Kaz nervously.
"5, which makes it a fair battle, cadet. Anything else?" asked Hulka as Kaz sighs in relief.
"Nothing, sir." saluted Chase as Kim looks at Shar teasingly.
'This is her chance.' mentally cheered Kim.
(Battle Simulation)
The simulation is set on a canyon in the Null Void. The Alpha Squad is on a ledge above, the members being Kodek, Cody, Woody, a navy blue/black Galvanic Mechamorph girl known as Maddie, and a Merlinisapien known as John. The Galactic Defenders and Shar are armed with their blasters on their belts.
"Okay! The simulation will begin. The cadets will attempt to rescue a hostage from the Alpha Squad. Weapons set to stun. And remember, no powers! That includes merging with your blasters. (glances at Maddie) invisibility, (glances at John), forming weapons out of your body, (glances at Woody), matrix using (glances at the Galactic Defenders, specifically Chase.) and finally, no bionics." explained Hulka with his fingers as he stands on a hover platform. The squads nod before the Alpha Squad open fire on the G.D.S (Galactic Defender Squad). The G.D.S hid behind a boulder while arming themselves.
"Okay, here's the plan. We shoot the ground around the boulder to make a smokescreen. Jack and Kim will run opposite directions, giving the illusion we all split up. Kaz, when I give the signal, you run ahead and open fire to distract them. I'll see if I could blast their weapons from here." ordered Chase as the mentioned people nod.
"But what about me?" asked Shar.
"You're backup." answered Chase casually before Kim punched his shoulder.
"Chase, give her something to do or else... " trailed off Kim as she whispered something in Chase's ear, making him blush in embarrassment before moving away from Kim and pointing at her.
"How did you know about that?" asked Chase, confusing the others.
"Stealth Elf lives up to her name." answered Kim as Chase sighs in frustration.
"Okay, Shar, you'll go with Kim." ordered Chase as Shar nodded. Jack and Kim fire on the ground around the boulder, creating a smokescreen and confusing the A.S until Jack ran left while firing and Kim with Shar ran right while firing. Kodek opened fire on Jack while Maddie and John opened fire on the girls, Maddie mostly on Shar. Kaz stayed behind the rock while Chase counted down with his fingers. When he finished, Kaz nodded before running forward while firing, hitting Woody and Cody's blasters in the process. Chase poked his head away from the rock with one eye open as he aims with his blaster. A stray blast hit Shar's blaster as she uses it to momentarily shield herself before everyone heard a slow beeping. The squads stopped firing once they heard it and looked in the direction to see Shar looking at her blaster worryingly.
"IT'S A BOMB!" yelled Kaz in worry. Shar yelped and threw the blaster in the air before Kodek fired at it, creating a miniature explosion and destroying the blaster. Everyone sighed in relief as Hulka hovers down and jumps off his platform while analyzing the destroyed blaster.
"Sir, do you have any idea what caused that?" asked Kodek as the squads approach him.
"Kodek, I have no idea. But because of this, I'm shutting down all simulations and blaster practice for further analysis on the blasters." stated Hulka.
(Plumber Barracks)
"Who do you think sabotaged Shar's blaster?" asked Kim as she sat on her bunk. Currently, everyone is wearing light brown tank-tops and camo shorts.
"It's gotta be one of Kodek's cronies as payback for bumping to their leader." guessed Jack while leaning on a wall before they all felt a vibration and the room began to shake.
"SPACE-QUAKE!" yelled Kaz as the gang opens the door to see a Vulpimancer stampede in the hallway running directly towards them!
"Vulpimancers/Wildmutts!" yelled Chase and Kaz before looking at each other weirdly. Chase shook his head before extending his arms forward as a blue force field surrounds the group. The Vulpimancers repeatedly clawed the force field as Chase struggles to keep it on.
"There's too many of them!" warned Chase while kneeling down.
"I know how to divide them. From the news I watch, Wildmutt's species has a highly advanced sense of smell to make up for their sight loss." informed Kaz.
"But Ben's not here, so we can't use Swampfire's methane against them." sighed Kim sadly. Jack looked at the Vulpimancers determined while activating the Skylatrix.
"Good thing I had this guy on my list." smirked Jack before slamming the Skylatrix and bathing himself in red light.
(Jack's transformation scene)
Jack is standing in a forest. Suddenly, leaves began to swirl around him completely. When the leaves burst, Jack is wearing a brown sleeveless ninja outfit, dark brown boots and finger-less gloves, a black scarf, a black band tying his hair into a ponytail and brown headgear. A green stink cloud appeared behind Jack and formed into a skunk shape. The skunk cloud surrounded Jack as he grows green fur and a skunk tail. His eyes became completely red as he goes in a crane stance.
"Stink Bomb" cried the Life Skylander.
(Back in the Barracks)
"Wow!" squealed Shar, glad to see a Galactic Defender transform with her own eyes.
"Chase, lower the shield." ordered Stink Bomb as Chase nodded before he lowered the shield. Before the Vulpimancers could pounce on them, Stink Bomb jerked his butt and tail at them before farting a nauseous gas at them. The Vulpimancers roared out in pain as they cover their gill/noses in pain.
"OH MAN! THAT STINKS!" cried Kaz while plugging his nose along with the other untransformed teens.
"It's even worse than Swampfire." grimaced Chase while backing away from the group since he has enhanced smelling.
"Well, thank you! (Gas surrounds him) Now it's time to clear the air!" cried Stink Bomb before the green gas consumes the stampede and him completely. Before a Vulpimancer goes down, a pair of red eyes could be seen above them. Before they could get back up, the Plumbers (with gas masks) came with Null Void Projectors, firing them to send the Vulpimancers away. The Vulpimancers were all gone, and Stink Bomb reverts.
"What happened?" asked Jack before fanning the air in front of him.
"The main Null Void Projector, the Mark I, malfunctioned, letting the Vulpimancers out." explained a Plumber.
"That thing shouldn't malfunction." commented Chase.
"Either way, it's under control. Back to your barracks, cadets." ordered a Plumber.
(The Next Day)
The G.D.S was doing weapons preparations with Hulka. Suddenly, Shar was shaking her hand, a grenade stuck to it.
"Help! It won't come off!" cried Shar scared as everyone looked at her worried.
"Calm down cadet. (Goes over to assist, when he hears beeping.) It's primed. (tries to pull it off.) Everyone, leave now!" ordered Hulka before the grenade exploded covering them in smoke. Before anyone could panic, Elemental HERO Flash comes running out of the smoke, carrying Shar and Hulka before he puts them down.
"Wow! That was amazing." cheered Shar before everyone noticed Hulka glaring at Flash.
"Uh-oh!" gulped Flash before reverting, knowing that he broke a military rule.
"Did you just use your matrix, Cadet Kaz? (Kaz gulps before nodding) Normally, I would punish you, but since it was only for saving me and your teammate, I'll let it slide this time. Back to your barracks, cadets." ordered Hulka as he walks away.
(Plumber Barracks)
Chase gets off his bed.
"Oh, boy. What's going on?" asked Kaz while sitting up on his bed.
"That grenade. If it was rigged, how would they know who was caught in it?" asked Chase.
"Maybe there was no target. It was just meant to take out the first person to use it." suggested Kim.
"And anyone else there." added Jack.
"And we'd only use the grenades and blasters if Hulka was there. He was the target." guessed Chase before heading to the door.
"Where are you going?" asked Shar
"To find who wants Hulka dead." answered Chase without looking.
"You're not going without your team." said Kim as the others nod.
(Weapons Room)
They go into the weapons room, and the lights were off. Hulka was walking around, and they were all sticking to the shadows. Then, Shar bumps into Kodek.
"Kodek, what are you doing here?" asked Shar surprised as the others noticed him.
"I'm looking to see who's after Magister Hulka, and I'm pretty sure this is the place since this is where the previous culprit faced Hulka." answered Kodek.
"You mean this has happened before?" asked Kim curiously.
"Yeah, except for the escaping Vulpimancers and the rigged blaster. The primed grenade is a dead giveaway since it had happened to another cadet before." answered Kodek.
"So do you know who the previous culprit was?" asked Kaz before they heard fighting. They go out into the open, and see Hulka fighting against Kolar, who has a headband on his head.
"That is the previous culprit. Kolar is a Tetramand criminal wanted in several planets, and Hulka sent him to the Null Void." answered Kodek.
"And my gut's telling me that he escaped when the Mark I Projector malfunctioned." added Jack as Kodek nodded.
"Your tricks won't work again, Kolar. Have you learned nothing? (Kodek and G.D.S come out) What are you doing here!?" demanded Hulka.
"Providing back up." answered Kim before slamming down the Skylatrix.
(Kim's transformation scene)
Kim's surroundings is a snowing forest with a clearing. Her hair and skin became more pale before she jumped high. Kim kicked at the air as ice-like knee pads, white boots and black tights got on her legs. Kim's jacket sleeves disappeared before the neck cuff connected the sides as her jacket becomes a long cape. Kim clenched her fists while huffing her chest as silver knight armor got on her torso and shoulders. Her shirt became black as the sleeves extended to her hands, forming finger-less gloves. An ice-like shield appeared in front of her as she held it onto her left hand. When she landed, she kneeled down with one palm on the ice ground as a crater forms. A knight helmet with ice wings flew from behind and got on Kim's head. As she stood up, an ice javelin formed in her other hand.
"Chill" cried the Water Skylander while twirling her javelin.
(Weapons Room)
Chill charges forward, going to slash Kolar with her javelin. Kolar stops the javelin with his upper arms and punches Chill away with his lower arms. Chase, Jack, Kaz, Shar and Kodek had surrounded Kolar, opening fire with their blasters. Kolar takes the attacks, unharmed, jumping and landing behind Shar before he grabs Shar, holding her in front of him.
"Hold your fire!" ordered Kodek as they ceased fire while Chill lowered her javelin. Kolar lifts Shar up while pulling out a Null Void Projector, opening a portal between them as everyone, mostly Shar, feel intense heat.
"What's with this massive heat?" asked Kaz while wiping sweat off his forehead as Chase scans the portal.
"This doesn't make sense. I'm detecting high signatures of solar radiation emitting from the vortex." informed Chase.
"That's the sun in the Null Void!" realized Hulka as Kodek grits his teeth in frustration.
"If you throw Shar in there, you're going to regret it big time!" threatened Kodek.
'So he does like her back!' mentally realized Chill. Kolar remains emotionless as he prepares to throw Shar, until Shar used her free leg to heel-kick Kolar's headband, breaking it as she lands on her butt behind Kolar. Kolar blinks confused as he held his head in slight pain.
"(Groans) What happened?" muttered Kolar silently, unheard by the others as Shar snatched the projector from his hand and threw it at Hulka. Hulka caught the projector and changed the destination of the portal as Chill uses her shield to tackle Kolar to the portal. Kolar waves his arms frantically as he fell through while Chill leapt off him and landed on the other side of the portal before it closes, and Chill reverts.
"Great teamwork, Cadet Shar and Cadet Kim." complimented Hulka as Kodek rushes to Shar. Shar looks up as Kodek extends his hand. Shar blushed as she took it and helped herself up.
"All of you, back to your barracks. We have a busy day tomorrow, now that this caper is solved." ordered Hulka as he walked away.
(Plumber Barracks)
Chase wakes up, and starts pacing. Kaz, Jack and Kim wake up from it, while Shar continued to sleep.
"(sleepily) What are you doing? Wake up call comes sooner than you expect." yawned Jack as Chase stops pacing before looking at them.
"I've been thinking about that Null Void malfunction, which let those Vulpimancers and Kolar out. Kolar didn't seem smart enough to open it from the inside. And it shouldn't have malfunction like that, so someone had to had activated it. And when Shar broke that headband Kolar was wearing, he was acting confused, as if our fight was meaningless." pondered Chase.
"Do you think the headband could be mind controlling them?" asked Kim as Jack shook his head.
"Just Kolar, maybe, but when I was sneak attacking those Vulpimancers, none of them had anything on them, but if the stampede was the whole Vulpimancer population of the Null Void, maybe someone used a special whistle to command them." guessed Jack.
"Can't this wait till morning?" groaned Kaz.
"We'll be under watch during the day. Maybe there is security footage that will show who messed with it. Let's go." ordered Chase.
"Wait! We should let Shar sleep in, since she had the toughest out of most of us." advised Kim as the others nod.
(Plumber Security Room)
The four are in the security room, accessing the tapes of the Null Void room.
"Okay, here is the footage of the day of the malfunction." showed Chase. On the screen is the Null Void Projector Mark 1, which was inactive. A few moments later, it opened while Plumbers come in, deactivating the Projector.
"Nothing came out! How could the Vulpimancers or Kolar get out that fast?" asked Jack.
"Unless the footage was tampered with." answered Kaz while Chase accelerated the video, revealing Kolar deactivating the portal.
"You're right, Kaz. This didn't happen once, but twice." agreed Chase before Kim squinted her eyes toward something in the video.
"Chase, can you zoom in on the upper right there?" requested Kim while pointing. Chase nods before he typed as the video zoomed to the corner of the room, showing strands of cut blue hair.
"Blue hair? None of the Vulpimancers were blue, so how did that get there?" wondered Jack as Kim puts a hand on her chin in a thinking pose.
"I'll see if I can scan the DNA from the security camera." assured Chase while cracking his fingers forward before typing on the panel. One of the screens displayed a strand of DNA while a miniature screen displays images changing rapidly. A few minutes later, the screen stopped and showed Shar's picture while beeping 'MATCH'.
"Shar's behind this?! But she was with us the entire time, how's that possible?!" exclaimed Kaz before Kim snapped her fingers.
"I got it! (the males look at her) Remember when the Vulpimancers were stampeding towards us? (males nod) Well, I don't think the attack was random. If Vulpimancers have a highly advanced sense of smell, maybe the culprit used the hair so the Vulpimancers could track her. (males awed) And the grenade went to overload only when Shar used it. And Kolar could've used any of us as hostages, but he chose Shar out of us 7, and tried to throw her into the Null Void's sun without giving us demands. I don't think Shar's the culprit, but rather... " trailed off Kim as the three males let this sink in.
"THE TARGET!" realized the males before they heard a shriek.
"And we left her alone the whole time!" added Chase while face-palming. Not wasting a second, they ran out of the security room.
(Plumber Barracks)
The Galactic Defenders ran toward their room door only to find it locked.
"The door won't open." grimaced Kaz while trying to open the door.
"What the heck was that sound?!" yelled Hulka while rushing from one side of the hallway.
"Is that Shar?!" yelled Kodek while running from the other side.
"Yeah! Long story short, Kolar wasn't the culprit, and Shar was the target all along!" explained Chase as Hulka and Kodek widened their eyes and stopped behind the Galactic Defenders.
"I don't know whether to be relaxed because I wasn't targeted, or angry that one of my cadets were." grimaced Hulka before Kodek took out a blaster and aimed it at the door.
"Step back!" warned Kodek before firing at the door and destroying it. For precaution, Chase surrounded them in a blue force field as they walked inside, only to hiss as they noticed the blaster marks and craters on the wall while a few bunkers had been sliced clean off.
"Wow, (chuckles nervously) I hope Shar didn't let herself get killed." frowned Kaz as they wander inside until they noticed a large hole in the wall, leading to...
"THE WEAPONS ROOM!" yelled Hulka as the group ran in.
(Plumber Weapons Room)
"HELP!" cried Shar before ducking under a navy energy blast while barrel rolling away. The group came in and noticed a robot that looks like the female version of a Forever Ninja, but is black and navy with navy circuitry on the black and vice versa. It's hand is still smoking from the recent blast. Wait... a machine... looking feminine... with a Galvanic Mechamorph's color scheme...
"Maddie?! You're the culprit?!" gawked Kodek, confusing the Galactic Defenders until they remembered the Alpha Squad's only female member.
"I told you it was one of Kodek's cronies!" smirked Jack victoriously. Maddie/Forever Ninja turned her head toward the incoming group, revealing a navy circle as the eye, confirming their suspicions.
"Yeah, it's me!" glared Maddie/Forever Ninja.
"But why?!" gawked Hulka as Maddie/Forever Ninja narrows her eye at Shar before unsheathing her swords, which have glowing navy blades, aiming directly at the Revonnahgander.
"To get rid of the competition!" answered Maddie/Forever Ninja angrily before her hands merged with the swords' hand-guards as she thrust the blades toward Shar, who hand-sprung away while the blades get stuck in the wall. Maddie/Forever Ninja took the blades out with ease before her shoulders reveal mini missile launchers, Shar gasped before Maddie/Forever Ninja fired missiles at her, which are blocked by Chase's force field.
"Don't interfere!" threatened Maddie/Forever Ninja before becoming invisible. Kodek rushed to Shar and checked her for injuries.
"Are you okay?" asked Kodek concerned while Shar blushes. Before the Revonnahgander could respond, Maddie/Forever Ninja cried angrily while repeatedly slashing the force field, which is futile. The others surrounded Shar as the Galactic Defenders stood in a line with Chase.
"Kim, guys, want to show her the true way of the Ninja?" smirked Jack while setting the Skylatrix to Stink Bomb's hologram. Chase, Kaz and Kim got the memo and nodded while setting their matrices.
"GALAXY NINJA MODE! (others look at him weirdly) Just trying to make a unique battle cry for what we transform into." groaned Kaz as the others slowly nod before slamming their matrices.
~Split-Screen Transformation~

Kaz's current background is a ninja dojo filled with training dummies. Kaz made a series of hand signs as a black ribbon comes out of the shadows and held his wrist before extending itself around Kaz, forming a black ninja suit with a gold star on the mask, a red scarf, gold wristbands and a red belt.
"Ninja of the Shadows! Strike Ninja!" cried the DARK Duel monster while taking out two dagger-like kunai and twirling them in his fingers.
(Weapons Room)
"Taylean" cried the Ventus Bakugan.
"Stink Bomb" cried the Life Skylander.
"Stealth Elf" cried the other Life Skylander as the force field disappeared. Maddie/Forever Ninja looked at the Ninja-themed forms curiously before Taylean threw a green energy kunai at her. Maddie/Forever Ninja snapped out of her stupor as she avoided the kunai, but couldn't avoid Stink Bomb's sweep kick. Maddie/Forever Ninja hand sprung backwards before waving her arm as navy energy shuriken emitted from it. Stealth Elf used her fang daggers to swat them all away before Taylean and Strike Ninja jumped on her shoulders and quickly leap toward Maddie/Forever Ninja and repeatedly slashed her in mid-air, the former with his gauntlet blades and the latter with his kunai. Taylean and Strike Ninja leapt away from each other before Stink Bomb punched the robot in the gut, sending her to a wall and forming a crater on it.
"You may have the armor of a ninja... " trailed off Stealth Elf as she uses her fang daggers to slice off Maddie/Forever Ninja's legs, making her fall to the ground with a thud.
"But you don't have the drive." finished Stink Bomb before he threw green gas shurikens at Maddie/Forever Ninja's arm, slicing them off clean before de-forming. Maddie/Forever Ninja separated from the Forever Ninja (including the severed limbs) and went down on one knee while unnecessarily breathing.
"Give up, ex-cadet." threatened Hulka as he, Kodek and Shar aimed their blasters at her. Maddie looked up and narrowed her eye before leaping toward Stealth Elf and palm-striking the Skylatrix symbol below her chest. Before Stealth Elf could panic, the Skylatrix symbol began emitting yellow and navy lightning, shocking Maddie as she tries to remove her hand.
"I-I can't let go!" shrieked Maddie as the navy circuitry on her body kept blinking before Stealth Elf shrieked in pain.
"KIM!" called out Stink Bomb as the male Galactic Defenders ran toward them until an explosion of yellow/navy light took hold, forcing the others to cover their eyes, (except Taylean, who doesn't have eyes). When the light died down, everyone lowered their arms and gasped at the sight. All over the walls are splattered black goo, and Stealth Elf already reverted, Kim being knocked unconscious while sitting against the wall.
"What (gasp) was (gasp) that?" asked Shar before Taylean, Strike Ninja, and Stink Bomb reverted. Hulka looks at the goo gravely as Kodek notices the absence of a certain Galvanic Mechamorph.
"Magister Hulka?" asked Kodek nervously as Hulka examined the black goo before realizing what it is.
"Maddie's... gone." frowned Hulka before the others gasp.
"You mean... (Hulka nods) but how?" asked Kodek before Hulka sighed and looked at the male Galactic Defenders, with Jack carrying Kim bridal-style.
"Galactic Defenders, there's something you should know about your matrices. (mentioned teens look at him) After the creation of Malware, Azmuth created a security system in your matrices to prevent Galvanic Mechamorphs from taking control over them by emitting a small EMP to repel the Galvanic Mechamorphs, but with Maddie's rather violent attempt, the EMP expanded and... deactivated her." explained Hulka as the Galactic Defenders felt relief and sadness.
(Plumber Barracks)
"Only a 99%! I can't believe this!" yelled Chase as he looks at his holo-grade.
"Relax. We all passed." assured Kaz.
"I still can't believe they let me pass after... " trailed off Kim as she gets teary-eyed while the others look at her sympathetically. When Kim woke up, Jack told her everything that happened after she fell unconscious. Jack knew Kim would repeatedly blame herself for Maddie's death, but Jack kept comforting her, saying that she never knew about the security system in the first place. Deciding to be a good boyfriend, Jack went to Kim and hugged her head to his chest as she softly cried into it.
"Kim, I told you, it wasn't your fault. And look on the bright side. We finally get to return to Earth, and there's no Galvanic Mechamorphs living there. (Hulka walks into the room.) Magister Hulka. Is something wrong?" asked Jack.
"You've been nominated for a medal, for your brave actions beyond the call of duty, involving the incident with (looks at Kim and Jack, the former still crying) you-know-who. A lot of lives would've been lost if not for your quick instincts." informed Hulka.
"Wow. Thank you, Magister." thanked Chase.
"You'll be officially awarded tonight at dinner. You all leave tomorrow. Good job, and good luck." complimented Hulka before leaving the room.
"Wow. Someday, I'll be as good as you four." said Shar determined.
"Maybe, but for now... (looks at Kim) we need to support our teammate and friend." ordered Chase as Kaz and Shar nodded. Kim wrapped her arms around Jack's waist and cried harder, unaware of navy sparks emitting from her Skylatrix.
Kim: I KILLED SOMEONE?!
Jack: Kim, it's not your fault.
Kaz: Author, why didn't you warn her of this?
Omarnosian10: And spoil the foreshadowing? No thanks.
Chase: So how's your mom?
Omarnosian10: That's right. If any of you read the ninth chapter of Ben 10: Youkai Adventures, you should know that my mom has a liver condition. She's making a full recovery!
Kim: YEAH!
