Chapter 3
The next school day, Main Course building
The next day, everyone was very relieved. Only temporarily, like a stereotypical nihilist, they felt some form of happiness and satisfaction from the few seconds of waking up. Only to feel depressed or lacking any form of enthusiasm because they are aware of the sad truths of the world. Unlike a regular nihilist who just accepts things and doesn't add to the depression but instead, acts like a normal person with their own sets of beliefs. In this case, students of class 77 were given a rude awakening.
For many of them were quite sure in believing that the latest events were all a dream. A psychological attack where they have foreseen the worst and seemingly impossible. Where they had been informed that their teacher, Chisa Yukizome, was put into probation after taking the blame for their classmate Nagito. Who decided to blow up the gymnasium where they were hold midterm exams for the upperclassmen. They were not made aware of why he did it, but it would make as much sense as how Nagito got his hands on dynamite.
In other words, no sense at all.
That however is the least of their worries even with Nagito being suspended. The horror of this endless nightmare is the fact that Satsuki Kiryuin is going to be covering as their substitute teacher. Therefore extending her stay even after the cultural exchange program between Hopes Peak and Honnoji ends. Somehow, the teenage girl had the credentials that made her as good as a teacher's aide and even then her strict attitude came with a great mind. Her intelligence being good enough to teach high school students.
Once again reminding the class that Satsuki is not some rich girl that tells people what to do because of her reputation. No, she's a scary girl that climbed to the top where she stands. While having the attitude of a tyrant, the Kiryuin heiress is fair and gives credit when due. Unfortunately, it would be greatly difficult for Class 77 to obtain that credit.
Homeroom
By now, everyone purchased their special tinted sunglasses. Unlike college textbooks, they were not expensive but at the same time, useful after the school years end. Because Satsuki's flash of light would have blinded the entire class as she entered the room with the slam of her sword hilt hitting the floor.
"Good morning Class 77! I see that you all have arrived on time and ready for today's lesson." Satsuki announced.
Everyone wanted to groan, but they were afraid that Gamagori would suddenly appear and say that is inappropriate behavior. Followed by being flogged or something equally bad happening to them. Unfortunately, Kazuichi was doing something that would incur the wrath of their temporary teacher. He was drawing on a paper in class. Something that they expected from Ryota as he was the Ultimate Animator.
SLICE*
Kazuichi screamed as he fell off of his chair and saw that Satsuki stabbed his desk and drawing with the Bakuzan sword. While the pink haired boy was fearfully gazing at the shinigami's avatar. Satsuki removed the desk that her sword was connected to and took the paper that Kazuichi was drawing on.
"What is this?" Satsuki asked.
"A bad joke?" Kazuichi asked with a nervous laugh as Satsuki read the title of the drawing.
Invention to escape the psycho
Followed by a lot of bad stick figures of Kazuichi making inventions to either escape class or get rid of Satsuki. One of them was of Satsuki tied to a rocket with tears in her eyes while Kazuichi was grinning with sharp teeth as he prepared to launch the rocket.
"That leaves me wondering how the President of the Aeronautics is doing." Satsuki said making Kazuichi feel more terrified.
Because now he imagined the drawing to be more realistic. Only this time, it was Satsuki strapping Kazuichi to the rocket.
'He should have least made the illustration match the characteristics of himself and Satsuki.' Ryota thought.
"Listen well class, it appears that we have an artist here with us and I am not speaking of Ryota. Kazuichi has decided that his hour of education is best used for plotting." Satsuki said as she crushed the drawing.
Meanwhile Fuyuhiko was signaling for Peko to cancel a financial transfer with her phone. No one saw this but if they did. They were wondering if Fuyuhiko had a great interest in the stock market or if he wanted to gamble his money on Kazuichi's inventions. Perhaps it was instinct to cancel such plans if he was considering supporting the Ultimate Mechanic.
"And now, this motivates me. Yes, it motivates me to do better as an instructor. Failure is not acceptable and it must be corrected." Satsuki said before her eyes turned into one of a warrior. "However, repeating the same failure is something that must never occur. Therefore, I believe everyone should share in the discipline. Especially those with the same ideals." she said as everyone got scared.
Track Field
With Homeroom over along with a few lessons planned. It was already after lunch time, meaning half of the day was over. With everyone still anticipating Satsuki's punishments as there was no sign of her proclamation to discipline everyone as An empty threat. That and her sharp mind is keeping her from forgetting Kazuichi's transgressions and potential future plots.
Especially when their other substitutes are loyal to Satsuki and more or less the same level as her in terms of being threatening. Starting with Gamagori who is likely seeing this as a chance to plan new methods of disciplne.
"Good afternoon everyone." Gamagori said.
"Good afternoon." only a few said.
Gamagori cleared his throat, "I see I was not speaking clearly. I said, good afternoon everyone." he repeated.
"Good afternoon." a few more said.
Gamagori sighed, "I think I am having hearing trouble, is that it? Perhaps I am deaf because I cannot hear anyone when I say, GOOD AFTERNOON EVERYONE!" he screamed.
Suddenly everyone felt as if they had woken up from bed, "GOOD AFTERNOON!" they shouted.
"Good, I thought I was going deaf. Because when someone greets you, it is customary to greet back." Gamagori said as he eyed everyone.
Then Akane raised her hand as she yawned, "I can greet you as much as you want chief, but I think there's a lesson you wanted to give to us." she said.
"There is, but first I was informed today that some of you are quite artistic." Gamagori said as everyone looked at Kazuichi. "There is nothing wrong with expression… except when it's not free time. Which is a luxury none of you have and therefore need a reminder. Therefore, I want all of you to run 10 whole laps with these small obstacles." he said as he revealed the track covered in traps.
Traps that would likely be owned by a psychopath living in the woods by themselves or a survivor of the apocalypse. The only thing everyone expected to see was some sort of pit of sharks or a death laser.
"Are those bear traps?" Ryota asked nervously.
SNAP*
"Nope, that's a rhino trap." Ibuki answered with a scared face.
"Where's the shark pit?" Akane asked making everyone look at her if she was insane.
Gamagori cleared his throat again, "We lacked the resources to dig a pit and fill it with sharks." he answered.
"Maybe I should have went to a charter school." Ryota mumbled.
"No traps of any kind will defeat me. Neither will any rings of fire I must jump through." Gundham said as he crossed his arms and stared down the traps.
"You all have three minutes and forty fives seconds to complete the course. Otherwise you must restart the course." Gamagori announced earning various looks. "Any questions we start?" he asked.
"Actually…"
"BEGIN!" Gamagori announced as he blew into a whistle.
When everyone was just coming out of their daze. Gamagori blew on the whistle even more loudly to the point he created a large crack on the ground. Prompting everyone to start running as fast as they could before the timer ran out. Not so surprising, Akane was already in the lead as she did not want to repeat the race. Sadly, something distracted her and almost made her fail.
There was a steak hanging on a hook over what appeared to be caltrops and oil on the track. Luckily for her, Akane's agility made it easier for her to jump over the caltrops and take the steak with her bare teeth.
"Mmmm." Akane murmured as the steak was cooked in such a fine manner.
"Is that legal?" Ryota asked, unsure if these traps are allowed with the board of directors.
Plus, he really wanted a tasty steak as well and could not help but to envy Akane. Now he hoped there were was more food on the way and hopes that Akane misses them as she runs by.
"You must do whatever it takes to succeed! Except cutting corners! That's just not playing fair!" Gamagori yelled as everyone kept racing.
A few laps later
BOOM*
"Watch out for the mines! Not all of them duds!" Kazuichi yelled.
"I wish my house was this defensive!" Fuyuhiko yelled as Peko was blocking every projectile being fired at her and Fuyuhiko.
"This is reminding me of the stories of my ancestor. My grandparents told me of her brutal training sessions in the military." Sonia spoke up.
Hiyoko groaned, "Was it any more harder than this?" she asked.
Sonia thought about it, "They said my ancestor would force recruits to cross a snowy field of several miles. By spending the first half of the trip avoiding heavy artillery fire." she explained.
"That is not remotely okay!" Teruteru yelled.
"Do not worry though, they were all empty artillery canisters at the time. It also helped the artillery crewmen with their accuracy." Sonia replied happily.
But Mikan did not like the sound of it, "They could still be hurt though. It's like being hit in the head with a refrigerator!" she said.
Sonia gave a weak giggle, "Yes, but it also did not help that some shells may have contained live ammunition." she said.
"It must be an error in management. One should always be aware of keeping supplies to meet expectations." Gundham said as he was losing his breath.
CRUNCH*
"Quick time event!" Chiaki yelled as she jumped through some sort of crushing device.
"This thing is going to take my head off!" Ibuki yelled.
"Speaking of management, at least Gamagori-san is honest with us. Some say my ancestor purposely lied about not knowing about the mix of live and inactive ammunition within the artillery batteries." Sonia adds.
"I'm guessing that's why you don't look tired one bit Sonia." Teruteru said as Sonia looked in perfect condition during this whole race.
"Why yes I am! I must keep up the traditions of my ancestor!" Sonia said as she started speeding away.
"I guess she's not one of those useless princesses you hear in fairy tales." Ibuki commented.
"In other words, someone capable of independent action." Peko said before having to pick up the pace.
Final lap, 33 seconds
By now, the class had to reach inhuman speeds. Or rather inhuman levels of ingenuity and determination until making it to the final lap. By now, the entire class has officially mastered the obstacle course on thier track. Finally understanding their position and timing after several near incidents with everyone either being burned alive or skewered. It did not help whatsoever that Gamagori would add different assortments of meat in between laps.
Which made it harder on someone like Akane who recklessly made it over the obstacles for food. As well as having to save Ryota who could not help himself when he ripped off some schwarma hanging over a giant ring of fire. With Teruteru screaming about poor cooking and too much seasoning. The Ultimate Cook tried to stop a few times in order to save the meals from what he considered to be abominations.
"Are you kidding me!? What is this!? Hibachi grill handled by elderly!?" Teruteru asked with an angry face.
"Let it go, it's just… what is that? Salmon?" Hiyoko asked as she saw the upcoming sea food. Teruteru let out a loud scream that scared the girl, "What!? What's wrong now!?" she asked fearing for her life.
"That is not salmon you culture lacking swine, that is tilapia! It may not be equally delicious or exquisite, but it's for those seeking affrodable and healthier alternatives!" Teruteru yelled angrily.
"So?" Hiyoko asked.
"So, it does not need to take as long to cook! That poor tilapia is being overcooked and cut up like sushi!" Teruteru responds as he runs to save the sea food.
"Don't run off of the course you idiot!" Ibuki yelled as she tried to pull him back.
By this point, Akane was already too full, "Can't handle… more… food… must… stop and rest… or vomit…" she said as she was so close to the finish line.
"Remember, ALL of you have to finish." Gamagori said as Akane was ready to collapse.
"Quick time event!" Chiaki said as she grabbed the fish and made Teruteru chase her.
"Don't grab it by the bar! It's going to burn your fingers!" Teruteru yelled.
"Now I need to get my medkit!" Mikan yelled as she tried finishing quickly in hopes of healing Chiaki.
"We can do it! We're so close!" Nekomaru yells as he tries to motivate everyone.
"Curse the ogre and his sadistic exams!" Gundham cursed.
"10 seconds!" Gamagori announced.
By then, Gamagori saw what was likely the inner warrior of everyone. That or their last bit of life energy granting them the power to finish.
With Tengan and Koichi
From a window, Tengan could see the painful exam. Next to him, Koichi was cringing at the sight. Pitying his former students as he only imagined the horrible pains their bodies were going through in this dangerous exams.
"Should we stop this? This is a bit far don't you think?" Koichi asked, expressing his concern.
"Just let it be. This will either make them or break them and they are too durable to break." Tengan said as he could see metaphorical fires within the teenagers
"Are you really sure? I mean that Satsuki girl probably approved this and…"
"Satsuki-chan is always hard on herself as well. Just have faith in them Koichi. I know Chisa would." Tengan said making the blond man remain silent.
Back at the track
Gamagori kept a close eye on the watch, "3… 2… 1…"
CRASH*
Gamagori saw the giant pile of students as they crashed together after finishing the track obstacle course. The tall man nodded as he wrote down this test as a pass.
"You have all passed. A second longer would be anything but acceptable and I would have had to reset the traps." Gamagori said as everyone groaned.
"Does that mean we can hit the showers and leave?" Kazuichi asked.
"OF COURSE NOT!" Gamagori yelled as his menacing aura made him appear bigger than what he really is. "With all that time and the time it took for all of you to put on your gym uniforms. It's only been ten minutes." he explained.
"That means class isn't remotely over." Mahiru said with an exhausted look on her face.
"Hey thinking about, isn't that Uzu guy supposed to cover gym?" Teruteru asked.
"He is, I'm just covering the first test. Sanageyama needed the time prepare for the next lesson." Gamagori said as he lead everyone inside.
To see Sanageyama standing over a platform with several cannons aimed at everyone, "Welcome to your next lesson, where we will be covering dodgeball. Only this time, you won't be able to fight back." He said before the cannons started to fire like machine guns for some reason.
"What the heck are Honnoji students!?" Everyone yelled.
After class
Luckily Mikan took the least amount of hits. Because she was seriously needed for all of the injured that took the most hits. With a few like Akane and Nekomaru being able to survive for most of the assault. Others defended Mikan with their lives. Not out of chivalry, but because someone needed to heal them.
"This is a lot of work, but I will do my best." Mikan said filled with determination.
"No more… I'm sorry…" Kazuichi muttered.
"Mikan-san, if you don't mind. I think I have a traditional technique meant to solve the pain everyone has." Sonia said.
"Um, Sonia-san… I would not recommend…"
"Hold still Kazuichi!" Sonia said and what sounded like a lot of crunching and screaming along with a back rub.
"I can't feel anything." Kazuichi whispered.
Mikan was surprised, "Actually, I think I've seen a similar process. This will greatly help." she said sounding happy.
"I think I'll take some morphine instead. Where's that pharmacist girl when you need her?" Fuyuhiko asked.
"You guys are weak if you can't handle a few hits like that." Sanageyama said.
"Easy for you to say, fancy uniform." Fuyuhiko retorted.
Sanageyama smirked, "Easy you say? Maybe I should turn those cannons onto myself." he said as he picked up a wooden katana.
Some of the students sat up to see how well Sanageyama would handle it as Gamagori adjusted the cannons. With a thumbs up, Sanageyama gave the signal to start. Where he proceeded to wait for each projectile to come within range of him. Before they realized it, the whole gym was covered in smoke from how fast the swordsmen was able to cut each ball. Resulting in a giant explosion due to the speed and impact during the attack.
"It's simple." Sanageyama said as he dropped the now broken wooden katana.
As he dropped the destroyed weapon. Peko winced as she saw what might as well been her rival. She felt no shame, but only encouragement. Encouragement to go beyond what her title had granted her.
"Looks like you have some catching up to do Peko." Ibuki said as a joke.
"It won't be too long." Peko said with determination.
"Hey you don't have to be so serious! I was just joking!" Ibuki said as Peko's face intimidated her.
Sanageyama heard this, "I won't go down so easy but if you do beat me in a fair fight in the future. Satsuki will even less easy when she really wants to win." he said reminding Peko of her challenges.
"And you better rest for now Pekoyama, you won't do any good if you break this early." Fuyuhiko said as he saw the small wounds around Peko's body.
"Very well, I can wait." Peko said as she rested and waited for Mikan to treat her.
"And this is only what? Day 2?" Fuyuhiko asked.
"And about a couple more months until the semester ends." Mahiru adds.
"I miss Yukizome sensei!" Kazuichi whined.
"Then stop making drawings in class, you got us into this." Fuyuhiko said with a glare.
"And at least make them accurate too. Satsuki's sad face did not match her character and neither did your scary face." Ryota stated from the little knowledge of art he has.
"That's not the point Ryota." Kazuichi said as he did not like the indirect insult about his drawing skills.
After school
After the school day had ended, Chiaki found herself playing video games again… but on her own. Single player reminded her about how lonely she felt. As she briefly paused and looked around, she could not find Hinata anywhere. She expected Hinata to already be sitting or standing by the bench. That did not sound wierd did it?
Normally, when Hinata waited there. Chiaki felt the enjoyment of playing co-op, even more so than competing. In a metaphorical sense of course.
Yet, it felt like Hinata was trying to distance himself as of late. It started back when Chiaki noticed his injury and begged him to let her get him some help. Aside from the embarrassment of having to make him take off his shirt to show his wounds from his fight with Juzo. Chiaki was afraid that Hinata was doubting his self worth again. As he originally stood outside of the main course building where he would feel envious of others.
And every time Hinata brought it up or had that same look in his eyes. Chiaki wanted to remind him that there was more to life than talent and fancy titles. Deep down, Chiaki felt that not only did she help change Hinata, but Hinata helped Chiaki change herself in some way.
"I miss you." Chiaki murmured.
"I see, I'm not the affectionate type but I suppose I have a liking towards you, my student." said a familiar voice that made Chiaki jump with fear.
"S-Satsuki sensei!" Chiaki squealed.
"From your reaction, I can assume your affection was not for me." Satsuki said.
"Uh, well I didn't mean…" Chiaki tried to say before Satsuki raised her hand.
"Calm yourself, this is my attempt at humor." Satsuki said as Chiaki saw a status bar appear.
Satsuki Kiryuin
Level: Immeasurable
Humor Skill Level 1 - Increased to Level 1.1
"Thinking about it, poor jokes are not suited for me. So do not expect any more." Satsuki said sternly.
"Right." Chiaki said understanding what she said.
"Now then, should you not be heading home at this hour? Loitering is not tolerated after classes have ended." Satsuki asked.
Chiaki sighed and looked down, "I'm still waiting for Hajime. He didn't come the other day and he isn't here now." she answered.
Satsuki raised a brow, "Hajime Hinata, the boy you speak with? The same one with the negative personality who believes he has no worth." she asked.
That summed him up, "Yes, that's him." Chiaki confirms.
"I see, unless he has detention or recently joined a club without saying anything. It is something to think about." Satsuki said.
"Maybe, I should try finding him tomorrow." Chiaki said as she picked up her bag.
"That sounds reasonable, remember this Chiaki Nanami. One should always think of themselves first and how to be the best. Yet at the same time, an empty kingdom with a single throne is no kingdom at all." Satsuki said cryptically.
Making Chiaki think, "I think I know what you mean Satsuki sensei. Thank you for the advice." she said as she left.
A minute passed as Satsuki stood there. Before she sensed one of the Madarai Brothers standing over her with interest.
"I apologize, which one are you again? Shissiki?" Satsuki asked.
"Yasshiki actually, Shissiki is still watching over the Student Council with Misshiki and Nisshiki. But I have Isshiki and the others with me." Yasshiki Madarai answered as his brothers briefly peaked their heads out from their hiding places.
"Good to know, any updates for today?" Satsuki asked.
"A few, and some new developments that are ahead of schedule." Yasshiki answered as he handed over a file folder.
"I will have to see this in my private quarters and actually. Can you do me a favor?" Satsuki asked peaking the curiosity of the brothers.
"What services do you require Lady Satsuki?" they asked.
"Find me anything on Hajime Hinata. He's in the Reserve Course and yet… something tells me he's not as average as he claims to be." Satsuki said.
The brother nodded, "Right away." they said before disappearing, believing it to be an easy assignment.
At the same time with Chisa
Chisa was currently finishing up a phone call while at a restaurant. She let out a loud sigh as she prepared to hang up just as she was prepared to order.
"That's all Kyosuke. I… I really am concerned though." Chisa said.
"And it's duly noted. I would remind Juzo to keep his act together, but sometimes I think his loyalty is a bit extreme."Said the voice of Kyosuke Munakata.
"I think Juzo only brings his fists to the negotiation table." Chisa said, having mentioned the altercation with Satsuki a few days ago.
"I know, but deep down. He's one of the most reliable and trustworthy people we know. The two of you just need to be patient with each other."Kyosuke told her.
"That's going to be really difficult. Especially with how things are moving on with the Cultural Exchange taking place." Chisa said.
"Just be patient like I said Chisa. I know you will make it and don't worry about your students right now. Worry about their future." Kyosuke said knowing how dedicated Chisa is to her teaching job.
Chisa sighed again, "I know and how are things on your end?" she asked.
"I can't mention that much over the phone even on a secure line." Kyosuke responded.
Chisa sweat dropped, "Really?" she asked.
"Yes really, now relax. I do not need you stressing yourself out. Until next time." Kyosuke said hanging up the phone.
Chisa groaned as her head fell onto the table. However her day would not end on a stressful note. A she found herself visited by a familiar face.
"Excuse me miss, lovely ladies are not meant to head butt the table." said a familiar voice.
Chisa raised her head up to see a man with shaggy blue hair and sunglasses greeting her. She was sure he was a stoner or something with that strange smile on his face. That or some creepy guy trying to hit on her at the restaurant.
"Do I know you?" Chisa asked.
The man almost fell to the floor upon hearing that question, "Chisa-chan! You wound me! How could you forget everything we've been through?" he asked, feigning sadness.
Chisa's eye twitched, "Just leave me alone creep." she said.
The man did face fault, "Okay that was a mean thing to say." he said before taking off his sunglasses and adjusting his hair. "You remember me now?" he asked.
Chisa's eyes widened, "Aikuro Mikisugi?" she asked.
"The one and only." Aikuro answered as he took a seat.
"Wow, it's been… how long has it been?" Chisa asked wondering how many years have gone by since she's spoken to her old friend.
"Eh… college I think. So how's your life? I heard you went back to school." Aikuro asked as he took a menu.
"As a teacher." Chisa corrected.
"The same thing, I'm a teacher now but I didn't go back to the same high school." Aikuro replied.
"You're a teacher too? I never thought someone as laid back as you could handle it. What school do you teach at?" Chisa asked curiously.
"One at the edge of town, but that's enough out of me. How's your old school been treating you?" Aikuro asked, dodging the question with a lie.
Chisa sighed, "Well a whole mess of things happened. Starting with the appearance of the Kiryuin mother and daughter and a sudden fashion show." she answers, not noticing a strange glint in her friend's eyes. "I suppose I should mention I got into trouble when helping one of my students." she adds.
"You got in trouble? But you're Chisa Yukizome, the nicest girl in the world!" Aikuro said actually being surprised by that.
"Well, I had my butt busted but my punishment isn't that bad. Among other things." Chisa said.
"It sounds like you literally have trouble in paradise. Tell you what, I'll pay for the both of us. Waiter!" Aikuro called out.
"No! You don't have too…" Chisa was interrupted as the waiter already arrived and listened to Aikuro.
"Really it's fine, you already have enough stress as it is. I actually wish I had equally good students like you thought." Aikuro said.
"Then build a relationship with them at the very least." Chisa said with a pout.
Aikuro scratched the back of his head, "I don't know, the only one that acts like they have a soul is this girl named Mankanshoku." he replied.
Chisa sighed, "Well I guess it helps knowing I'm not the only one struggling. Still, I think I have a duty to just more than job." she said thinking about the secret project within Hopes Peak Academy.
"Commitment is a big and important requirement of being a teacher. Yet, you never know what comes in your way when it does become about more than your job." Aikuro said as he had his own agenda.
After those talks ended. The two enjoyed their shared dinner in peace. Before Aikuro picked up the check and bid Chisa a farewell. With the promise of seeing each other again soon.
"Yeah we will." Aikuro muttered after she left. Aikuro then turned around and sat next to a man with red mohawk at the bar area, "That went well. Did you get anything from that phone call earlier?" he asked.
"Something big is going down and there's no doubt that Ragyo Kiryuin wants to get involved." said the man with the mohawk.
"How can you be sure?" Aikuro asked as he had some doubts.
"Because Ragyo Kiryuin is not normal and neither are her clothes." the man with the mohawk said as Aikuro gave him an odd look. "You know what I mean. The specificmaterials." he whispered.
Aikuro nodded, "You probably have a point. Especially now that Hajime Hinata is missing." he said earning a look of disappointment. "I know it's bad, Tsumugu. Especially the two agents who filled in as his parents were lost in a fire." he said with a sigh.
Tsumugu had to restrain himself from pounding the bar, "It's not a coincidence anymore. That woman knows who he is." he said.
"No doubt about it. I heard he was a part of the fashion show Ragyo set up as a cover for the Cultural Exchange Program." Aikuro said adding fuel to Tsumugu's theory.
"Damn it, what's the plan now?" Tsumugu asked.
"We regroup with everyone else later and work on finding Hajime. Alive I might add." Aikuro said hearing some curses from Tsumugu.
"Fine, you're paying for my drinks by the way." Tsumugu said as he got up and left.
Just as the bartender arrived, "Here's the bill." he said as he set down the check.
Aikuro whispered, "Someone has anger issues. He had four sake bottles and a… a martini? You serve that here?" he asked, making sure he read that right.
Labratory, Unknown Location
With the sounds of heels clicking. Many security guards backed off as they felt this sense of imminent danger nearby. As Ragyo Kiryuin walked past them with Rei Hoomaru followed right behind her. Both making their way to the lab where Project Kamakura was in the works.
As they made their way in, the guards stiffened and closed their eyes but saluted the imposing woman and her assistant. It wasn't too longago that Ragyo learned about this secret laboratory and what it contains. Needless to say, it only made her curious and eventually gather enough interest to where she wanted a part of the experiment. Not exactly a part, rather spearheading the project and eventually taking it over within a short time.
Those guards have a good reason to fear Ragyo and it wasn't because of her manner of speaking. Actions literally speak louder than words. At least now, those guards made sure to get better equipment. Not that it would matter if they tried to stand up to Ragyo.
"Welcome Lady Kiryuin." the guards said.
"At ease boys." Ragyo said as she passed through them.
As she left, the guards could not help but to whisper their opinions, "How the heck did some she get so much control? I thought she was some eccentric woman that made clothes." one of them said.
"Don't question it! Never question it! When you hear heels click like that, you know there's some trouble about to go down." the other guard replied.
The second guard was also hoping Ragyo did not hear them. Even if she did, trivial forms of opinions did not matter to her. Rather it was action or promise of action that would concern her.
For now, she had to focus on her special guinea pig and approached one of the scientists.
"How is Hajime?" Ragyo asked.
"H-Healthy b-but… kind of broken." the scientist answered.
"Explain." Ragyo demanded.
"The subject, Hajime Hinata, recently woke up but just stares in silence. He reacts with normal human behavior, but it's not as if he's mute. Rather, he doesn't communicate or react with emotion." the scientist explained.
Ragyo did not care for most of that, "A pity, but then again. I won't have to worry about trivial conversation. A doll is as good as a mannequin so long as it's not broken." she said before looking at the computer monitor.
The monitor currently showed live footage of Hinata just sitting there and eating the food that's been provided to him. Just eating it, no enjoyment or distaste. It wasn't anything strange like gray mush, but real food with nutrients and proteins for hospital patients.
Rei then spoke up, "Is it something in the food perhaps or maybe blunt force trauma?" she asked.
Ragyo frowned, "Nui will be expecting punishment if that's the case." she said.
The scientist shook their head, "N-No ma'am, the boy was in good condition despite being unconscious. It was only shortly after waking up that he started acting strange." they said as they presented some other data. "The food itself doesn't have any pills or special medicine of any kind. So I doubt that's what triggered the behavioral change." they further explained.
"You may go then, I think I see the problem." Ragyo said as she giggled.
The scientist nodded and quickly walked away. Meanwhile Rei turned on her tablet and went over a few pages. With her moving onto an app designated for other security camera footage.
"How are the other scientists Rei? You know the ones, the Naysayers." Ragyo asked.
Rei knew what she meant. Even with all her influence. There was quite the number of staff who were against Ragyo and wanted nothing to do with her. Especially when it came to tampering with their project and all the years already put into it.
"I have them right here ma'am. They were all put into the meeting room as you requested some time ago." Rei said as she revealed her tablet screen.
Ragyo smiled, "Good, now then. Nui you better not be tardy." she said as the blond lolita appeared.
"I'm not! Also, I swear I did not hit that boy too hard!" Nui said childishly.
"Regardless, you do not have to be as cautious for this next assignment." Ragyo said as Nui tilted her head in confusion. Ragyo pointed at the tablet screen, "I admire the work these people have put into this project. However, their time and usefulness has come to an end." she said.
Nui saluted her superior, "Okay! I'll take out the trash!" she said happily walking towards the door.
"I would not mind you keeping a few alive. I cannot duplicate Hajime, but a few extra guinea pigs would not be so bad." Ragyo said.
Nui waved at her, "Okay, I'll separate the recyclables from trash Lady Ragyo." she said as she just left the room.
"Good, now then. Let us try and proceed with Project Kamakura." Ragyo said as she started walking towards the main control room. Only to stop in her tracks, "Oh and Rei, how is that Enoshima girl? I never had the chance to see her during the fashion show until it was too late." Ragyo asked.
Rei pulled up Junko's file, "She claims to be the Ultimate Fashionista, but there's more to it. Junko Enoshima is also the twin of Mukuro Ikusaba, the Ultimate Soldier. Both likely have different names as a cover, it helps that they do not look the same either." she explained.
Ragyo almost snickered, "To be young and ambitious again. Although from two separate family names, two separate titles and different appearances. I'm assuming Enoshima is more than just a pretty face." She said.
Rei nodded, "We've kept a close eye on her. It appears that the two aren't always close in public but there is footage of them meeting at the airport and taking the same ride earlier in the semester." she explained.
Ragyo was tapping her fingers on a nearby table as she started thinking, "Have someone keep a close eye on her. I think there's more to a girl than just fashion." she said. Rei proceeded to add notes to send to Ragyo's spies, "And my daughter, depending on whatever happens. I think it's best that she does not know that I am still here but keep her monitored as well. Her own little amateur spies with those quintuplets are entertaining to watch." she adds as Rei nods again.
"Pardon me for my opinion ma'am, but would it not be better to eliminate the spy network she has altogether?" Rei asked.
"It would seem easy but there is a chance my own plans will come apart. Satsuki is not exactly a naive child as most wealthy entrepreneurs tend to birth. Sometimes you just have to loosen the leash with girls like her." Ragyo explained.
"Understood Lady Ragyo, monitor but do not engage." Rei said reiterating Ragyo's orders.
"Now then, I would like to see my "son" be reborn again." Ragyo said wondering what will happen when Ultimate Hope combines with a hybrid made up of Life Fibers.
A few days later, Hopes Peak Academy
Once again, the class was met with Satsuki's brilliant shine. Which by now everyone assumed to be the physical manifestation of her iron will and desire to stand above everyone. Luckily, the special sunglasses have yet to fail them. The same cannot be said of their fear and slight respect for the young girl who has been fair to some degree. Once Satsuki was inside of the class to begin with the daily agenda, no one could ever find themselves prepared for that shiver they all fear whenever Satsuki bangs the hilt of her Bakuzan sword against the floor.
'Why hasn't she gotten in trouble for carrying that around?' most of the class wondered.
All of them unaware that Sonosuke Izayoi from Class 76 carries sharp weapons around him. It was strange considering he was the Ultimate Blacksmith and blacksmiths do not only specialize in weapons. By now, logic should never be questioned in Hopes Peak considering that many students have metahuman abilities with their talents.
"Good morning class." Satsuki greeted.
"Good morning Satsuki sensei!" everyone greeted back, knowing that they don't want to be shouted at.
"I see everyone is finally perfected themselves into a more collective and calm manner. However, there is still one thing I want to see." Satsuki said making everyone internally groan. "And that is your reasons for being motivated." she said.
"Huh?" Everyone asked.
"As I stated many times before, I saw you as slackers. At some point you evolved from pigs to sheep and now, I can safely say you all have the potential to be equal as humans." Satsuki said earning some smiles. "However, this is not permanent as I want to see your reasons for staying. Unlike Honnoji Academy, I cannot have someone chase you down and force you to accept and like your classes. Many of you could run but I would not have the reason or authority to make you stay." she explained.
It was a good question. With a sociopath like Satsuki Kiryuin, who would not choose to run like any sane individual? The answer would be a masochist, but they would not be considered as sane.
"Without conviction, you are merely statues with the capability of movement. Now tell me. What is your motivation!?" Satsuki demands as her aura generated a powerful wind that nearly sent the class flying.
After a few minutes of silence and everyone looking at each other while Satsuki closed her eyes, expecting an answer. Chiaki once again proved her leadership prowess and stood up first. Despite the fear that Satsuki generated, Chiaki did her best to look at Satsuki with eyes of conviction even though her knees were shaking and sweat started to surround her body.
"For ourselves!" Chiaki said shocking everyone.
"So pride then." Satsuki said.
"No, that's wrong." Chiaki said as Satsuki opened one eye.
While most of the class already felt as if their class representative had just signed her own death warrant for challenging Satsuki's opinion. When in reality, all Chiaki did was intrigue her.
"Explain." Satsuki ordered.
"When Yukizome sensei arrived, she had faith in all of our abilities but not just because of our talents. But because she saw us as her students regardless of who we are and what we are known for. So I believe that if Yukizome sensei is willing to go out of her way to help all of us. Even in the most dire of situations." Chiaki explained.
With everyone remembering the situation with Nagito threatening the school to pause the midterm exams. Along with going through with his threat with almost blowing up the gymnasium where the midterms were being held for upperclassmen. With Chisa putting her own job on the line to lower the punishment of Nagito who was misunderstood. Since a part of his reasoning was to distract everyone from the stress caused by the rumors of what happened to Sato and Natsumi.
At least those two are alive and well, despite the earlier rumors when they went missing.
"With that in mind, not only are we doing it for her sake, but for ourselves! So that we can show everyone like Yukizome-sensei that we are special for than just our talents!" Chiaki said finishing her speech.
From there, everything remained silent as if Satsuki was taking it in. With everyone preparing for the absolute worst. Especially a random evil laugh.
Instead they heard the sword hilt hitting the floor again, "That is exactly the type of motivation I wanted to hear!" Satsuki shouts, surprising everyone. "With that motivation, you will surely prove to be more than dolls than fancy titles! Keep this mindset close and never lose track of it or risk falling into despair and being blinded forever!" she adds.
"Yes sensei!" everyone shouts.
"Good, now then. Today's agenda…" Satsuki trails off.
Unaware that Tengan was looking inside from the door's window. Giving a light chuckle of his own.
"That is a good way to motivate. There are all sorts of leadership forms I suppose." the old man said as he continued his walk.
Later that day
Satsuki looked at one of the reports she received from the Madarai brothers. It was surprising to say at the very least. Not something that would entirely make sense in terms of this school but then again, rough housing is not tolerated at her school unless it's outside where the delinquents are free to do whatever they want to survive.
Regardless, this new piece of information is something too convenient and suspicious.
Name: Hajime Hinata
Age: 16
Date of Birth: January 1st
Reason for withdrawal: Expulsion
Satsuki narrowed her eyes as she could not find any other information. For some reason, even other private information which the school requires such as a home address and contact information of parents and guardians are missing. Either this information was falsified and her spies were tricked, or this is some sort of cover up or slip up. Information like this cannot just be erased out of nowhere as these sorts of records are kept for the short term future.
With that in mind, Satsuki contacted her skilled hacker, "Inumuta, I have a small task for you." she said on the phone.
"Lady Satsuki, regardless of size. No task from you is less important than anything else." Inumuta responds respectfully.
"There is a boy from this school named Hajime Hinata. At first glance, he seems like any member of the local sheep. However, with recent events, his disappearance seems too convenient." Satsuki explains.
"I see, is there any information I can work with besides a name if you do not mind me asking?" Inumuta asked.
"There is, I mind you that some documents may contradict reason ones." Satsuki said to keep Inumuta focused.
"Child's play Lady Satsuki, I will patiently await what you need to send me. Then I will present what I have when it's ready." Inumuta replied.
"Good, I'm having a file sent to you right now." Satsuki said as she hanged up. Then her mind turned elsewhere, "I should speak to Langris again. His speciality may become an important factor in the near future." she said to herself before putting away the documents.
Satsuki remembered meeting Langris Vaude. To summarize Langris, he was just another arrogant fool similar to Uzu Sanageyama. Only Langris was not some delingquent that challenged everybody to fight. No, he was a rich boy from a well known family. One thing lead to another and Langris tasted defeat just shortly after an altercation with his older half brother. To say that Langris wanted to redeem himself after his accident was something unexpected but of course, Satsuki wanted to prove him.
Now among his many tasks among smaller ranked subordinates like Cammy. Langris had his uses, including his special ability with his Two Star Goku uniform. One that lets him travel between spaces separated by great lengths. There may be no location he cannot reach.
"At least he still has a sibling." Satsuki said to herself, thinking about her own personal issues.
A few months later, second semester
Time stops for no one and yet, it almost feels like everyone ignored how much time has passed. They say that as you grow older, time just moves faster because of aging can measure these fragments of time. Yet for Chisa Yukizome, she only felt very anxious as she had not seen her students in a long time. Even with the fact that the school and the assignment given to her by Kyosuke did not take up her entire life. It's been a while since Chisa had actually spoked to one of her students face to face.
Now was the moment of truth, Chisa took a deep breath and exhaled as she grabbed the doorknob to her classroom. The very one where she made memories and would continue to make more. Now that her probation has ended and she is free to be with her students again. When she was given a big surprise.
"Chisa Yukizome, you are two minutes late for class!" said a familiar booming voice.
Causing Chisa to panic, "I'm sorry! I missed the subway train, I had to iron my dress, this morning has been an entire mess!" she said followed by more excuses as Satsuki flared her menacing aura.
Only for the teenage girl to close her eyes and smile, "I will forgive you once and only once as it is the beginning of the new semester." Satsuki said before letting Chisa in.
Where she was surprised again, "Surprise! Welcome back Yukizome sensei!" every one of her students cheered.
"Oh my goodness! Were you all waiting for me!?" Chisa asked sounding emotional.
"Yes we did, we also asked Satsuki sensei to distract you at the last minute to get into position." Sonia said.
Chisa giggled, "I guess that makes sense… wait Satsuki sensei?" she asked.
"Yes, I was their temporary teacher. Expect only great results for that is all they have given me. Thanks to a competent leader." Satsuki said gesturing to a shy looking Chiaki.
Chiaki looked away for a moment, "It was nothing really. I just acted as the party leader until now." she said.
Chisa giggled, "I guess you leveled up a whole lot. Actually, now that I think about it." she said as she looked around. "Hiyoko is missing? Is she absent today?" she asked sounding curious.
Just as the door opened, Satsuki slammed the Bakuzan sword's hilt on the floor, "What have I said about tardiness!?" she asked angrily
Suddenly the tardy student fell down, "Hey! You don't have to yell me!" said a familiar voice.
Chisa smiled, "Hiyoko! I was wondering… tall?" she asked.
"That's right Yukizome sensei! I got a bit of a growth spurt." Hiyoko said sounding happy.
"I see someone also leveled up, literally." Chisa said realizing that Hiyoko was slightly taller than her now.
"Her height is only an example of everyone's growth in class. Isn't that right everyone?" Satsuki asked as everyone stiffened.
"That's right Satsuki-sensei!" everyone said trying to sound proud.
Chisa giggled, "Oh my, if Satsuki-san has kept all of you from falling behind in your studies. Then perhaps, I should extend my leave." she said before several students fell and grabbed her legs.
Most of them crying enough to fill up a river.
"Don't leave us Yukizom sensei! Satsuki is a sadist!" Kazuichi cried.
"I don't wanna make 10 book reports in a span of 2 weeks anymore!" Ryota cried.
Ibuki was the most emotional, "A jail is more comfy than this place! I can't rock on anymore!" she whined.
Chisa sweat dropped and thought they were overreacting, "Satsuki-san was not that bad of a teacher was she?" she asked.
Satsuki remained silent, carefully deciding what her next move would be. As mercy and forgiveness was only something she considered after spending her extended amount of time at Hopes Peak. She was sure to discipline herself once she returns to Honnoji as the ruffians over there are a bigger mess compared to this academy.
No, no more mercy and leniency anymore. Just let them dig their graves with their insults.
As Gundham made a comment, "A capable instructor she is, but not one with a nurturing side." he said as his spirit was wounded.
Peko's spirit was also wounded, "Even I have reached inhuman limits." she said.
Fuyuhiko sighed, "I don't wanna talk about it." he said as he avoided Satsuki's gaze.
"Enough about my elite teaching skills. You have survived the battle. Now you are all worthy of celebrating today." Satsuki said, giving them a rare break.
"You heard her everyone!" Kazuichi said feeling like a giant weight fell off of his shoulders.
"Yes, but keep it moderate. The semester of the new year begins today and that does not lessen your work any less." Satsuki said reminding everyone that they made it this far, but it was no time to be lazy.
"We got it old sensei! We'll keep the party short, but that doesn't make it any less epic!" Ibuki exclaimed.
"Let us rejoice to a new year and the return of our teacher!" Gundham announced.
Satsuki let a smile creep up her face, "Very excitable as always. I'm sure nothing will break them." she said just as Chiaki came with a cup and a bottle.
"Let me pour you a drink Satsuki sensei. We still owe to you to keep us motivated." Chiaki said.
"Just Satsuki, call me Satsuki or Satsuki-san. I am no longer your teacher and as you said. You are all here for yourselves." Satsuki said as she still accepted the drink. "For if you cannot believe in yourselves. How can anyone believe in any of you?" she asked.
Chiaki nodded, "But that doesn't mean I don't believe you to be a bad teacher." she said still sounding grateful.
Both not noticing an uncharacteristically serious look on Ryota's face. As if he was in deep thought.
With Junko
Junko sighed, "It was another year, a boring year even with the most talented individuals gathered in one place. So how would the Despair sisters start their reign of despair you ask?" she asked.
"Junko, what are you doing?" Mukuro asked.
"I'm narrating again, are you slow?" Junko asked. "Anyways, you won't believe the wildest thing I found Mukuro. Well not found, someone sent it to me." she said.
"Who?" Mukuro asked.
"I don't know, I tried to find an email address but it was unknown. I swear, I almost got myself hacked until I saw what was attached in this email I got." Junko said as she pulled out her phone.
Yet Mukuro stopped her, "Junko, I am not tech savvy or whatever they say, but I don't trust this. Someone just sends you an email with no return address." she said voicing her concern.
Junko rolled her eyes, "I know what you mean Mukuro. Except there's really nothing bad I could find." she said. "But I'm not here to ask or give lessons on internet safety crap. What I found is actually pretty cool and morbid in a way." she said.
"Okay sister, what did you find?" Mukuro asked as Junko showed her the video attachment she received.
The video loaded up fine. Although Mukuro really hoped that her sister did not accidentally download malware. As they did not exactly have a lot of connections with people who are great with computers. As Mukuro could see her sister's predatory smile appear as the video showed some sort of laboratory where a man was tossed into a room and forcefully strapped onto a bed of some kind.
Junko, seeing that things were intense, grabbed her earphones and put one of them in Mukuro's ear. Making sure to adjust the volume as she didn't want her sister complaining about her ears being damaged. An ultimate soldier needed all of her senses to get the job done right after all.
"This is insane! I am not a test subject! I am here to promote the future generation of Hope!" the scientist yelled.
Only for a white haired woman to laugh, "Hope, such a ridiculous idea. What even is it? Just praise and ideals that all will turn out well?" she asked as she walked behind a hardened glass window. "Do not fret, you will become more than man. More than your wildest dreams. Something on par with Izuru Kamakura." she said as the scientist yelled.
"You can't do this! This is wrong! I am a human being with rights!" the scientist yelled as needles were stabbed into his body.
"You weren't this chatty when you experimented on a random boy." the woman said as the scientist continued to scream.
"I am so glad I keep these with me." Junko said referring to her earphones.
"Please let me leave! I gave you what you wanted! I want to repent for my sins!" the scientist said like any desperate victim in a horror movie.
The woman sighed as if she was dealing with a bratty child, "Do not speak of morales with me, you buffoon. You asked for the Ultimate Hope and received a mindless drone. Sure that may work in favor, but as for you. You decided to discard him right away." She said sounding peeved.
"Duh! You can't be throwing away good resources like that." Junko said.
"Even I made mistakes and a big one is being impatient." the woman said as the scientist started to cough violently.
"W-Wha-what i-is this!?" the scientist asked as red threads surrounded his body.
"It won't bring you any hope, but do not despair. You will become more than a normal man." the woman said as the scientist became a cocoon.
The video then skipped it's own footage to the final stage. Where the scientist bursted out of the cocoon and turned into a hulking mutant with treads coming out of his body. Several security officers attempted to detain the wild monster only to be slapped away. Where the woman proceeded to walk out from the glass divider to look at her creation.
"That is good progress I suppose, but not what I am looking for." The woman said as the beast charged her. Just as it threw a punch, she caught the fist, "Disgusting, no manners either. I suppose a barbarian like you was doomed from the start." she said before moving at a pace so fast, that the brutish monster was split in half.
"Ew… the video's resolution sucks by this point." Junko said.
"I'm sure the phone just needs an update Junko." Mukuro said as both girls ignored the gruesome and bloody scene.
The woman sighed as she started cleaning herself up, "Burn the body, unlike the other test subject. This one is beyond a failure." she said before walking into her main lab. "If only someone capable of controlling their own despair was here." she said as the video ended.
Junko grinned, "And it doesn't end there. I got the whole intel for this experiment." she said revealing other files.
Mukuro looked surprised, "It's right here, at this academy?" She asked.
"I never expected it either Mukuro, but here we go. Whoever this is, knew me. I don't know how, but they knew I was destined for this." Junko said.
"I think you might want to calm down." Mukuro said.
"Mukuro! Do as I say and I say this." Junko said forcefully squishing Mukuro's cheeks. "I want to find this lab and succeed where those losers failed!" she said making Mukuro blush.
"Okay." Mukuro said, for some reason enjoying the excitement from her sister.
Sure Mukuro was defensive of her sister, but she never really goes against her judgement. Unless her life was in absolute danger of course. That didn't mean Mukuro would keep her senses up and prepare for the worst.
Some time in the future, laboratory under the school
Junko yawned as she sat outside with a magazine. Waiting as she heard Mukuro making a lot of noise inside of the lab. Where she was dealing with security. The very security who were in charge of keeping the lab behind Project Izuru Kamakura secured. Yet Junko groaned as Mukuro was taking a lot of time dealing with a bunch of overpaid rent-a-cops.
"Damn it Mukuro! What kind of Ultimate Soldier takes this long!?" Junko asked, sounding impatient. When suddenly, Mukuro came crashing out the window, "What the heck?" Junko asked as she looked inside.
Where an old man with a beard waved his cane at them, "You darn kids! Coming in here and spray painting the walls!" he yelled.
Junko sweat dropped, "Did you just lose an old man?" she asked as she looked at her sister.
Mukuro quickly jumped in, "It was a minor error on my hand." she said as she proceeded to throw punches at the elderly security guard.
Who in return, blocked each hit with his cane, "You punk kid! You think you can attack me and get away with it!?" he asked before tripping Mukuro with intense speeds.
Mukuro quickly caught herself by doing a handstand. Where she proceeded to kick the security guard who kept blocking with his cane. Mukuro started to grow tired of the old man as he kept insulting her and talking about the olden days.
"Back in my days, the women wouldn't just come out of nowhere and pick fights. No, they would wear beautiful kimonos and greet people. Talking things out instead of fighting like us men." the security guard said.
"Mukuro! How hard is it to beat someone's grandpa?" Junko asked as she crossed her arms.
"What's that?" the security guard asked, raising a hand by their ear.
"Just shut up and die grandpa!" Junko yelled as Mukuro tried to stab the guard with a broken flask.
The guard slapped the glass away, "Uptight? Who are you calling uptight missy!?" he asked just as Mukuro jumped over him. Trapping him in a headlock with her legs, "And you! Learn to shave your legs! It's not ladylike to have them all hairy!" he said throwing her off of him.
Junko started to look annoyed, "That's one thing I can agree with." she said having frequently told Mukuro to groom herself.
"My story goes back to my teenage years. 1880… or was it 1870?" the security guard asked.
"Please be quiet." Mukuro said as she threw a grenade at him.
"Hey don't throw avocados while I'm telling a story!" the security guard said as he tossed it back at Mukuro.
Who dodged just as it exploded, "This is no ordinary security guard." Mukuro whispered.
"You are darn right I'm not! I come from a family of defenders who defended this defendable point! Starting with my pappy, and his pappy and his pappy dressed like a woman and his mama's pappy and then… and then… what am I talking about?" the security guard asked just as Junko snuck up behind him.
"That you forgot your sleep medicine!" Junko yelled as she tried to beat him with a crowbar.
The security guard hit her in the gut with a cane, "No that's not it. Who cares? Anyone hungry for avocados?" he asked as he pulled out pins out of a belt full of grenades.
"Junko get down!" Mukuro yelled as she tackled her sister behind a table.
*BOOM*
"Is he finally dead?" Junko asked.
When the two peaked their heads out. They saw the guard covered in dust and coughed.
"Gosh darn avocados! They've gone bad!" the guard said.
Mukuro started to feel very annoyed, "Sister, I need that crowbar." she said as Junko handed it over.
"Okay, go nuts." Junko said as she sat back and watched the fight between a cane and a crowbar.
This time, Mukuro went all out and made the guard stumble, "Now you listen here missy! You are too young to be sword fighting with crowbars!" the guard said angrily.
"I do not recognize your authority. For only my sister, Junko, is the only one who I respect and admire!" Mukuro exclaims as she clashes her weapon against the cane.
"You don't know the power of the security guard!" the guard said challenging her.
Only to be pushed away by Mukuro, "No Star Wars references!" she said as she jumped back and dashed at the guard.
The guard let out a war cry as he stumbled towards Mukuro's intense speed. When the two suddenly slashed their weapons at each other. Both moving in the opposite direction before stopping. Both stayed still for a moment before paying close attention as to whether or not someone was hit. When Mukuro gasped as she realized that her crowbar fell from her hands.
The guard turned sheathed (he has a sheath apparently) his cane, "If I can't make science fiction references, then you can't make samurai movie references." He said as he turned. Revealing that the crowbar was attached to his face after being hit, "Punk kids and their crowbars." he said before letting out a loud croak.
"What the heck!?" Junko asked.
Suddenly the guard fell down, clutching his heart as his eyes turned into X's. Mukuro slapped his face a few times and checked for a pulse.
"He's dead." Mukuro said.
Junko shrugged, "He lived a long life Mukuro. Let's just go before he stinks up the place." She said as she looked at the schematics from the email.
As the two girls left, the old man sat up and ripped off the crowbar. The old man then grinned as he quickly jumped up to his feet and ripped off a zipper on the top of his head. Where his flesh fell down and revealed Nui who looked excited.
"I wonder if they're really worth the effort. I really want to play with freckles again." Nui said, referring to Mukuro.
With the girls, at the lab
Junko kicked open the door and nothing happened, "What?" she asked.
"It needs a keycard or a code, but I can rig it to explode open." Mukuro answered.
"Hold on, I think I have a bar code here." Junko said as she moved around her emails and found the code.
After scanning it, Junko walked into the lab where the scientist died. Junko peaked around and found dry blood all over the place. She grinned thinking about what was meant to come out from this series of failures. Meanwhile Mukuro was making sure that there was no trap and the whole room would be filled with poisonous gas or something.
"There was so much security and yet no sign of any staff." Mukuro said.
Junko groaned, "You know, I expected to see some test monkey or something at the very least. Maybe they're on lunch or something." she said.
"I'll check this room. This is where that woman was testing on that scientist." Mukuro said as she left the room.
"Yeah check there. Maybe they have more notes." Junko said as she continued looking for a few minutes. Before pulling out her phone again, "Damn it, there's nothing here. Was I getting trolled or something?" she asked before hearing some clicking sounds.
Junko was almost startled by the sound. So she decided to check to see if someone was coming back. She smiled thinking there was someone she can have Mukuro interrogate. As Junko walked back towards the door she came in. She noticed it was locked.
"Mukuro! The door's locked!" Junko yelled out. "Better get the thermite ready!" she yelled only to hear silence. "You better not be playing the silent game! It's really super lame!" she adds.
After a couple of minutes of silence. Junko groaned as she walked into the room where Mukuro entered. Only to find the door locked as well.
"Are you like mad at me or something? This isn't funny. Actually, it's super annoying and immature." Junko said as she looked at her nails. Junko sighed as she sat beside the test bed, "Mukuro either has an attitude or she got lost… or fell asleep. Did she get any sleep last night? She had some really big eye bags this morning." she said to herself.
When suddenly the PA speaker turned on, "Thank you for being patient. Now please hold still and wait for your booster shot Enoshima-san!" said a childish voice.
"Eh?" Junko asked as she looked around.
When she noticed Nui behind the glass holding a tied up Mukuro who was screaming out to her. Instead of being terrified, Junko was super confused. Her questions revolving around being pranked or if Mukuro lost her touch if some lolita kidnapped her. However, she soon found herself in trouble as several needles stabbed her around her body. Causing her pink blood to spill all over the floor.
"W-What t-the hell? I-I am being t-trolled." Junko said as blood came out of her mouth.
Mukuro screamed out to her sister as Junko collapsed. When several red threads surrounded her body and she was trapped in a cocoon. Nui frowned as she stomped her foot in disappointment.
"Darn it! Another failure! Lady Ragyo is going to be mad!" Nui said sounding annoyed just as the cocoon bursted open.
"Don't be so surprised Nui." Ragyo said appearing behind her minion.
"Lady Ragyo? I didn't know you were here." Nui said.
Ragyo smirked, "Of course I am here. I want to see my success in person." she said as the results came in.
"What did you do to my sister!?" Mukuro demands as she tries to break free.
"Be silent girl. Watch as the little caterpillar blossoms into a butterfly." Ragyo said as Junko came out.
Instead of becoming a gigantic hulking monster. Junko came out covered in dry blood and no wounds. Although she was stumbling around as if she was sick and disoriented. Nonetheless, she appeared to be in perfect health.
"Ow! Booster shots hurt!" Junko whined as single tear fell down her cheek.
"Junko!" Mukuro yelled out just as Ragyo left the room.
(Kill la Kill OST - Blumkenranz)
As she exited, Ragyo clapped for Junko, "My my, it was a gamble to be honest. Even I was unsure of the results of a grown human mixing with my Life Fibers." she said.
Junko looked up in confusion, "Life Fibers?" she asked.
Ragyo grinned as she lifted Junko's head by her chin, "Yes dear, Life Fibers. Something that will make you very beautiful. Like myself." she said. "Although perhaps the first part is a lie. As you are like me." she said as she cut a part of her flesh, revealing the Life Fibers in her body.
Junko looked surprised and then excited. As her vision adjusted from the surprise experiment. Junko soon realized that she was in Ragyo's presence. Recognizing her as the majestic woman from the fashion show and her voice was the same as the scientist woman in the video. Yet all Junko could say was…
"Goddess."
Ragyo giggled at the name calling, "Goddess? Then consider yourself my angel. For you have just been gifted your wings dear." she said imaging the possibilities and potential of Junko. "Now dear, show your goddess your worth." she commands as Junko is mesmerized by Ragyo Kiryuin's majestic aura.
At the same time, even Mukuro felt like she was entranced. Nui just laughed away saying that soon enough, it would be Mukuro's turn. And that the Despair Sisters will be baptized with Life Fibers.
TO BE CONTINUED…
NOTES: So after going over the anime again because it's been a while since I've seen Danganronpa. I realized I made a mistake since Class 78 is not meant to appear until the new year. I guess that's me screwing up the American Education system with the Japanese one. Unless every school does it differently.
So sorry about that mistake with Naegi appearing earlier than usual at the beginning of the story. But I don't think it will change much. Hopefully you all enjoyed this because more is coming soon!
