Chapter 6
With Chiaki
The Ultimate Gamer made her way down the hall that "Chisa" told her follow. Chiaki felt really unsure as she noticed how long the hallway is. Chiaki briefly stopped for a moment and looked back.
"Yukizome sensei? Are you sure this is the right way?" Chiaki asked as she looked for her teacher.
Unaware that Nui, who impersonated Chisa, was long gone. Leaving Chiaki feeling more unsure with herself as she continued down the single path. At least until she came across a pair of large red doors. Chiaki briefly took a step back and looked behind her only to shake her head. As she attempted to strengthen her resolve.
"I don't know where I am, but I'm the class representative! I can't quit now!" Chiaki said unaware of where she's going.
Once she made her way through the red doors. Chiaki found an elevator waiting for her. Even with her resolve, Chiaki felt very unsure about going in alone. As if a literal death trap was waiting for her wherever the elevator was taking her.
"You know, that teacher is really grateful for your hard work." Chiaki's eyes widened as she turned around. Where she saw Nui standing behind her, "You won't believe how many teachers give up on their students. You kept things going even when a psycho like Satsuki-chan took over! You're really amazing!" she said.
"Wait, aren't you…?" Chiaki tried to ask as she vaguely remembered Nui's face.
"No wonder Hajime hanged out with you. You two probably would have made a cute couple too." Nui adds.
"Wait, you know where…"
Chiaki was interrupted by a boot to kicking her in the gut. Courtesy of Nui of course who then pressed the elevator button down. Chiaki could only look up at Nui in fear as she was headed straight towards her doom.
"Too bad for you, I hate sappy romance subplots. Besides, you're the star now! You're the obvious choice for Junko's show!" Nui said as Chiaki's elevator continued to move down.
Where Chiaki eventually found herself in a dark room with a single screen waiting for her. On the screen, Junko Enoshima could be seen happily waiting for Chiaki.
"You're probably wondering where you teacher is. Long story short, I made her watch my despair video." Junko said before sighing. "Too bad it got interrupted by Satsuki's gorilla butler. Even worse, some guy kidnapped that teacher of yours so Nui had to step up as an understudy." she adds.
"What are you talking about?" Chiaki asked as she approached the screen.
"But don't worry! The final product is on the way, it just needs a bit more… uh. What's the technical term for despair?" Junko asked as she started thinking real hard. Only to shrug, "Whatever, you know what was missing? You! You're going to raise my movie to a level high enough to reach Mars!" She said as she gave Chiaki a thumbs up.
With the other students
Mikan quickly ran to catch up with her classmates who were unaware of her actions and manipulations from Junko. At the same time, Mikan was thinking of a perfect excuse as to why Chiaki was no longer with them. As to further avoid any chance of Junko's plan from becoming a failure. It was already bad enough for the Ultimate Despair that she had to face Satsuki. For unknown to the girl, Satsuki's blade is designed to tear through Life Fibers.
Essentially making the battle closer to the Kiryuin heiress' favor. For now, Mikan was just unaware of how much of Junko's plan had already fallen apart.
"Hey, where's Nanami?" Akane asked.
Mikan faked a look of worry, "Chiaki hurt her leg on the way here. So I had to make a quick treatment while leaving her in a safe room we found so that she could rest." she said.
Despite how suspicious that sounded. Everyone trusted Mikan's story as she was devoted to helping heal people as she was the next best thing to a doctor.
"That's good to hear, our Ultimate Nurse is keeping our Representative safe." Kazuichi commented.
As the group continued to make their way down. They spotted a pair of glowing eyes from a hallway that was completely dark. Before they considered freaking out as they believed some horrid thing was lurking int he shadows. Gundham revealed himself along with Nekomaru who was behind him.
"Tanaka, what the hell are you doing creeping around in the corner?" Fuyuhiko asked with a look of ire on his face.
"Better yet, how did you get down here?" Hiyoko asked.
Gundham scoffed while making an anime style pose, "It was fairly simple, the maze is merely child's play. As were our foes for my powers exceed that of a normal human." he said pridefully.
"I have no idea what you just said." Hiyoko replied.
"It doesn't matter, we're here anyways. So where's Yukizome sensei?" Nekomaru asked before noticing that Chiaki is missing as well.
"Hey guys look!" Mikan said as she pointed at a pair of large red doors.
"That's where they must be hiding her!" Kazuichi said as he opened the doors first.
"Yukizome sensei? Are you here?" Sonia asked as she lead the way inside.
Instead of finding their teacher. The class found some sort of court room with a black and white teddy bear sitting on a chair. The menacing design of the bear made the atmosphere feel only more spooky. As the color scheme made it seem like the bear was representing the Yin and Yang concept of Daoism. With it's expression, the bear seemed like it was between good and evil.
"Where are we no?" Fuyuhiko asked, now sounding irate.
That's when the screens turned on to reveal Junko Enoshima as if she were waiting for them in person. Had Nagito been here, he would have warned his classmates that this is all a trap. Though with the secret entrance under a statue and this giant labyrinth. It should have been fairly obvious that something bad was about to go down. Especially as Junko revealed camera footage from within her screen showing Chiaki going through the series of traps that Junko put her in.
"What have you done to Nanami!?" Nekomaru asked angrily.
"Our little heroine is going through the first act of my new movie. The plot, her death!" Junko shouts as everyone recoils in fear.
Suddenly, the screen changed to a black and red animation depicting Chiaki as an 8 bit video game character. With an 8 bit version of Junko coming on screen and dragging Nanami by the hair. With the words, Game Over flashing over the Ultimate Gamer's head.
"Oh look! She's already have way through!" Junko said excitedly.
Back with Chiaki
As Junko said, Chiaki had made it through the labyrinth while looking a bit shaken but unharmed. As Chiaki made her way through several traps while only taking a small cut across her shoulder. The girl found a visor hanging out from her Half Star Goku Uniform and once she put it on. She quickly found out that they displayed a hud screen similar to a video game.
'Thank you Satsuki-san!' Chiaki thought as she read her current status.
LOADING…
ID: Chiaki Nanami
HP: 85/100
Armor: 90% (charging)
MAP: Hopes Peak Academy Underground
Chiaki sighed in relief as she also saw a map. Well not a real map, a function that showed her surroundings but only detected nearby threats but did nothing to help her find a way out. Still, it helped with the more dangerous stuff coming up.
"Wow! Sweet shades, but I don't think they match with that outfit." Junko said.
Chiaki suddenly stopped as her visor detected a tile shaped trap. She immediately moved around the tile and continued to run while clutching her arm. When suddenly her screen started glowing and her mini map showed a giant red dot behind her.
SPRINT!
Chiaki looked back to see a giant stone chasing her down the corridor. The mini map started to glow as various projectiles ahead of her. Luckily, the Half Star Star uniform gave Chiaki a bit of a boost in physique. Which allowed her to avoid various cannon balls that tried to hit her. Along with a few random buzz saws that attempted to cut her down. Once those were gone, Chiaki made a sharp turn and avoided the giant rolling ball.
"I need to catching my breath." Chiaki murmured.
"Hey! Are those glasses helping you cheat!? That's so lame you dirty hacker!" Junko yelled angrily. "I thought you gamers were about having fun and playing fair! Does this mean all of my future projects are going to be filled with literal life hackers!?" she continued to ask.
Chiaki glared at the nearest screen, "I'm going to beat you regardless. Then Yukizome sensei and my classmates are going to kick your butt." she said.
Junko did not look like she cared, "That's the hope I want to crush. The death of hope seems like the natural choice for Despair." she said. "So hurry up! I need to upload this video soon!" she yelled
Chiaki gritted her teeth as she kept running. Only to avoid several spikes from the ceiling along with a giant bladed projectile that cut deep into her shoulder. Making her cry out in pain as some blood started to leak.
HP: 70/100
Armor: 100% - 70% (charging)
Chiaki continued to press on as her will overruled her own fear. Her Hope continued to strengthen her and help her push on with the promise of escaping and defeating Junko. Unaware of how much of a sore loser the Ultimate Despair is. Meaning that victory is far from her as of right now.
"I heard the Power of Friendship brings miracles, but a hacker like you deserves less! You Cheater!" Junko yells as a knife hits her in the knee.
Chiaki let out a scream as she saw her status take effect.
HP: 55/100
Armor: 85%-50% (charging)
Junko laughed, "Haha! Your friends are so going to be mentally scarred once you drop dead." She said with a wide grin.
Chiaki let out a growl, "I'm not losing to someone like you!" she screamed as she pulled out the knife. "They will come for me! I know they will! This is not how I die!" she yelled as she kept moving forward.
Where she found a door with the word "GOAL" waiting for her. Once it was turned, she saw a hallucination of her friends. Just as Chiaki happily ran to her friends and even the illusion Chisa who was waiting for her with open arms. Only to be stabbed by a sharp projectile. Chiaki let out a loud gasp as she slowly fell to the floor. Only to be stabbed by multiple spikes that went through her body. Right before the visor fell off of Chiaki's head, she read the final status.
HP: 10
Armor: 1% (unable to charge)
WARNING: MINI MAP DISCONNECTED!
The spike let go of Chiaki as she collapsed onto the floor. With so much pain going through her body, Chiaki was unable to stand up, let alone lift her head up. When she was able to move it just slightly despite the blood and her messy hair ruining her vision. She could see Izuru standing over her with an expressionless look on his face. Almost as if he expects more from the girl now that Junko declared this to be a victory for Despair.
"I know you… Hinata." Chiaki managed to say.
"Hinata, so that was my name." Izuru said sounding intrigued.
"You are… remember?" Chiaki asked.
"Whatever came before me no longer exists." Izuru stated without remorse.
Tears started to form up in Chiaki's eyes, "No… I don't believe you…" she said before letting out a cough. "I can't die yet… just one more game… everyone… they are depending on me…" she said before coughing again.
Izuru didn't respond to her as he didn't expect much else other than pleads for survival. However, that didn't mean he didn't find her determination to be uninteresting. Izuru bent down and rubbed his fingers against the Half Star Goku uniform.
"This outfit, it was given to you for being unique. Is it because you embody Hope?" Izuru asked.
"No… Satsuki-san gave it to me… she believed in me… she taught you to believe in yourself… please remember… Hinata…" Chiaki said before losing consciousness.
For a brief moment, Izuru's eyes started to feel foggy. Before he realized it, tears fell down his cheeks. They were so foreign to him and he didn't understand. What was even more strange, is that the Life Fibers from his fingers started to surround Chiaki's uniform. Izuru pulled off the threads and grabbed the visor. For some reason, he didn't feel like staring at Chiaki's face anymore so he put the visor back on her eyes and then taking her hair clip before leaving.
In between the cycle of life and death. Chiaki's eyes stayed open for at least one full second as the screen of the visor connected itself to the uniform again.
Skill Unlocked: Friendly Revive - 50% of HP will be Recovered
Warning: Using a skill will no longer grant access to Armor effect. Resulting in the potential destruction of Half Star Goku Uniform. Are you sure you wish to use Friendly Revive?
Chiaki briefly saw an image of herself sitting with Hinata by the fountain. Making her smile before her eyes closed shut.
HP: 0… 5… 10… 15… 20…
With the rest of the class
As Mikan wanted, everyone was forced to watch the television screens as Mikan "died" reaching the final goal. Mikan literally drooled as the Despair had already held a strong grip on her. Meanwhile everyone else was already giving into the same feeling. As their Hope in Chiaki, practically the strongest person they knew, had been put down like a rabid animal. Even with the power of Satsuki's gift, all they saw was Chiaki fall and perish just when the goal was in front of her.
That is, unless Junko herself was just using that as another method of mental torture. As there could have been another trap laid out. Unless Izuru himself was that hypothetical trap.
"This-this can't be real!"
"Nanami… Chiaki, no!"
"This is insane!"
"What sort of sadistic psychopath are you?"
Mikan giggled in the background, "It's so beautiful. The Despair, I can feel it overcoming me!" she said as she drooled while everyone else started to go insane.
With Nui
A realistic looking wig onto the floor, "Really? I get an actor arriving late for the film shoot but the director? That's just sad." Nui said as Mukuro took of her sister's clothes. "We lose the hostage, the director isn't here but you somehow come back after being ambushed?" she asked with a shocked face.
"Junko should be here soon, I don't know what's stopping her." Mukuro said as she had to fill in for Junko during Chiaki's trial.
Only to find the older sister kicking the door open. While covered in blood and several dozen slashes across her body. Along with a look of pure frustration and exhaustion on her face before she plopped herself onto a chair.
"What happened to you?" Nui asked with little concern.
Junko snarled, "That stupid stuck up princess had a sword that can cut Life Fibers! I almost lost my own head several times!" she yelled angrily.
"Someone is a sore loser. Too bad, I probably should mentioned the Bakuzan since Satsuki used it on two chumps that got stuck together by the Life Fibers from the fashion show." Nui responded as Junko looked annoyed.
"Forget her, how did it go Mukuro? You didn't screw up did you?" Junko asked with a critical eye.
Mukuro shook her head rapidly, "No, I think I did very well sister." she said. Where she pointed at the footage of Class 77, "See? The whole class is consumed by Despair and their representative is dead." she said.
Junko smirked, "Good, you're stupid head is good for something for once Mukuro." she said.
Mukuro smiled, "Good for something, I'm happy to finally be of use to you." she said with a light blush.
"Yeah, yeah, shut up. Your breath still smells." Junko said as Mukuro covered her own mouth.
"Hey, how bad was it when you fought Satsuki-chan?" Nui asked curiously while moving closer to Junko.
Junko groaned, "That entitled princess was acting all tough. I knew she was tough, but I didn't expect her to almost destroy the place." she said while recalling her fight from earlier.
Flashback, 20 minutes earlier
*CLANG*
The time for words is clearly over in Satsuki's opinion. For once she used enough pressure, she slammed her sword hilt into the ground. Causing the ground to split open and create a giant crater. Where the insane Reserve Course students that were with Junko found themselves falling in. Junko carefully took a step back as she was surprised by the amount of strength Satsuki put in.
"Okay, you're more of a gorilla than a princess I guess." Junko said as Satsuki narrowed her eyes.
"Call me what you will, but you are a degenerate in my eyes. One that lacks discipline of which I have to distribute myself." Satsuki said as she drew her sword.
Junko giggled, "Okay, whatever you say crazy girl." she said as she stretched her arms and legs. "I bet you got so many cramps when you broke the ground. I doubt too many guys are into girls with arthritis at 16." she said.
Satsuki did not care much for the opinion of others. Which can be seen as she was suddenly in front of Junko. With the Bakuzan sword pointing towards her head. Which Junko luckily avoided after bending over backwards thanks to her new found flexibility.
Satsuki did waver as she raised up her sword and brought it down. Only finding Junko to be fairly quick as she dodged the blow again as well as several quick strikes meant to impale her. Junko laughed at Satsuki which slowly began to annoy her.
"With a sword like that, I think you are compensating for something." Junko said as she kept avoiding every strike.
Satsuki kept her serious face on as she studied Junko's fluid movements. After a few more swings, Junko jumped high into the air and did a quick roll before bringing down her foot. Satsuki raised up her blade and blocked the kick before pushing Junko back. Junko landed gracefully before flicking her hair as a taunt.
"Where's that bravado from earlier that I heard so much about? Are barking orders and making nasty faces all you can do?" Junko asked as she kept taunting Satsuki. Satsuki let out a wild swing which Junko avoided again, "You're so slow." she said when her cheek suddenly felt wet.
Junko wiped her cheek and found blood leaking. Before she could ask what had happened. Junko felt another slice go down her back along with the Bakuzan going through the lower right part of her torso.
"What?" Junko asked before coughing blood.
"What you call slow, I call patience. However, patience when dealing with you is a difficult task." Satsuki said before bashing Junko in the nose with her elbow.
Junko winced as she held her nose before being kicked hard across the ground. Without so much as being allowed to breath. Junko rolled away as Satsuki stabbed the ground where she lied a mere moment ago. Junko sneered as she threw a kick towards Satsuki's head.
"You dumb bitch, were you taunting me by making me dodge and dance around?" Junko asked angrily.
"What was your first clue?" Satsuki asked before slicing down her chest.
As Junko fell back from her giant wound. Satsuki raised a brow as she saw several glowing red threads coming from her wound.
"Of course, if damaging your mind is not enough. You turned yourself into a monster." Satsuki said as she recognized the Life Fibers.
Junko scoffed, "You have to do what you have to do to win. All the models do it with liposuction and plastic surgery. So what's wrong with being greater than human?" she asked as her fingers turned into red sharp blades.
"To sacrifice your humanity is the same as surrendering as a sentient!" Satsuki yells as she parries Junko's bladed fingers.
Seeing as Junko did not inherit amazing fighting skills like her sister Mukuro. Satsuki continued to parry each strike before dodging a heavy cross slash attack. Where Satsuki used the opening to knee Junko in the chest before rapidly slashing at her.
*CLING*
"It's worse when your new method does not grant you success either." Satsuki said as she sheathed her blade.
Causing Junko's chest to let out an explosion of blood. Junko hit her head against the ground and struggled to stand up. Where she furiously glared at Satsuki who did not show any new emotion. Not even some form of smug satisfaction for having already injuring Junko very badly.
'Okay, this became some samurai anime crap.' Junko thought before looking at her wounds. 'How the hell did she cut me!? Lady Ragyo said that these threads are crazy strong. Like cutting them with a sharp weapon would be like trying to stab concrete with a plastic fork.' she thought as she tried to stand.
Only to find herself being stabbed in the shoulder, "I'm not the type to beat down my enemies like a sadist. However, I can help but use an animalistic style to get information out of you." Satsuki said.
Junko spits out blood onto Satsuki's boot, "What the hell do you want to know?" she asked. "Do you want to know about my sad childhood? My motivations? Why I planned all of this out? Do you want to understand what kind of person I am? So you can decide whether to save or kill me?" she asked.
"I am not interested in any of those things." Satsuki replied coldly.
Junko sweat dropped, "Okay, this is a first." She said almost expecting Satsuki to use heroic or anti-heroic tropes.
"You will tell me how you turned yourself in a Life Fiber monster." Satsuki demanded.
"Life Fibers? Never heard of them." Junko lied before Satsuki stomped on her head. 'Okay, now I see how Mukuro feels when I have to discipline her stupidity.' she thought.
"You are more intelligent than that. Feigning stupidity is pointless." Satsuki said.
"Aw! You think I'm smart?" Junko asked childishly to further mess with Satsuki.
Only for Satsuki to rub her boot against Junko's head, "There are several levels of intelligence and you only exhibit one of them." she said.
Junko let out a laugh as her eyes turned into swirls, "Now looks who's dumb. You must be really stupid because I have a lot of smart categories, like street smarts!" she yelled as clawed at Satsuki's leg.
Satsuki jumped back and parried several blows from Junko's claws. Before blocking a heavy kick with her sheath. Only to find herself moving her head at the last second as Junko's boot ripped open as her claws extended to her toes. Which left a medium mark across her cheek before Junko did a double hand stand followed by a spin kick which Satsuki had a hard time blocking. Junko picked up the speed and used more force to keep clawing at Satsuki before the blade hit her in the neck.
Junko let out a gagging sound as she tried to use her arms to push away the sword. Only to find her hands taking heavy damage as the Bakuzan sword started tearing into her hands. Leaving Junko still unaware of her weakness against Satsuki's weapon. What made this even worse was the fact that Satsuki isn't even wearing a Goku Uniform of any kind. Meaning she was just an ordinary human beating someone who Ragyo deemed to be superior to a human.
Who was Junko kidding? Not even an Ultimate in all of their power and effort could reach someone made of Life Fibers. Nui could kill someone as strong and experienced as Juzo Sakakura without any effort.
"What are you?" Junko asked.
"I am Satsuki Kiryuin, the one who stands above all and does not fear any upstart high off of new power! Especially a pig who has become human clothing!" Satsuki yelled as she brought down a heavy sword slash.
Junko had to rely on every bit of her speed and stamina to avoid the slash as it cut deep down the side of her arm. Luckily without Junko completely having her limb amputated as the blade created another big ravine with her sword slash. Leaving Junko to land a sharp blow into the side of her abodmen.
"HAHAHA! I GOT YOU NOW YOU ENTITLED BIT-.." Junko stopped as she let out a gasp.
Satsuki smirked, "You have confidence, but lack any skill. If you were as experienced as Nui, I suppose this fight would have been more difficult." she said as her blade was stabbed into Junkos gut.
"You piece of…" Junko said before coughing up more blood.
"You cannot even finish your own sentence." Satsuki said before pulling back her sword and landing a heavy kick that sent Junko flying about 100 feet away.
'That bitch… she left herself open so she could get me!?' Junko thought angrily as she hit the ground really hard.
As Satsuki ripped off her sleeves and made a quick bandage to cover her wound. Junko struggled to stand up as her body felt like it was falling apart. Seeing this, Junko decided it was a better idea to just stick to the shadows and torture people from the background since she wasn't at the same level as Nui just yet. Then again, Nui was never human in the first place.
'When I'm out of here, Mukuro is getting me a hot bath ready!' Junko thought angrily before running off.
"Come back here coward! Do your words mean nothing!?" Satsuki angrily asked as she chased after Junko.
Junko scoffed, "I'm just making a room for a sequel!" she yelled before slamming her hand down.
Causing a giant wave of spike to appear in front of Satsuki. The wave then spread out and surrounded the swordswoman before trying to lash out of her. Within a couple of minutes, Satsuki was able to fight off the giant spikes and destroy them before continuing her chase. Only to find Junko missing from the battlefield.
Satsuki's fists tightened as she glared at the ground, "While eliminating her is tempting. I need that stupid girl's knowledge. No matter how conniving she is, Junko Enoshima could not do this alone." she said before hearing the sounds of a rotor.
Satsuki looked up to see a helicopter flying away in the distance. Not one that she could recognize, but it only motivated her suspicions. Satsuki let out a sigh before sheathing her sword and contacting her underlings to get a status report of the situation.
End of flashback
Junko then pointed at Mukuro's face, "Now go draw me a bath Mukuro. You can't screw that up right?" she asked.
Mukuro nodded, "That's right, I don't screw up baths." she said before running off.
Junko sighed, "This is going to be a pain in the ass. Hopefully tomorrow, things get more exciting." she said.
"Tomorrow?" Nui asked curiously.
"Yup, tomorrow the final part of my movie will go live for all the world to see!" Junko said feeling a bit better.
"As long as Satsuki-chan doesn't ruin it for you." Nui said with a giggle.
Junko groaned as she slammed her fist against the table, "Don't remind me!" she yelled angrily.
Nui giggled even when Junko threw various office supplies at her. Including the chair that she was sitting on. Nui just waved her finger around at Junko as her temper started to rise.
"Still too weak Junko-chan, but don't worry. You will get the hang of it." Nui said with a mischievous smile.
The next day, with Satsuki
Satsuki let out a small wince as her wounds were still being healed. Though she wasn't prideful enough to just run around and open her wounds. She still headed caution and tried to avoid harming herself when there is still so much work to do. Especially as she was getting reports from her underlings. Starting with the medics who found Chiaki Nanami's body.
"The girl is strong, but she would be dead if it were not for her will and the Half Star Goku Uniform." Satsuki said as she read the medical report.
She then moved her head up to see the unconscious girl in bed. Satsuki read over the medical reports as well as the data that Inumuta had collected thanks to the visor in Chiaki's uniform. Of course, Inumuta sent a copy for Shiro Iori to look at as Satsuki decided to give him the green light and approved for an improved version of the uniform. Then there were the many comments that Inumuta made on the notes as he was fascinated by how well the Ultimate Gamer handled the death traps.
Then again, it was luck that the uniform was still functional despite it being reduced to threads to save Chiaki's life. As well as the data from the visor remaining intact.
"Then again, most students cannot handle the power of the uniform. Nanami has earned her rest." Satsuki said before looking at the bed with Chisa who is still recuperating.
Despite Chisa having briefly gone missing. Munakata revealed that one of his own agents from Future Foundation had rescued her. Though this was a lie and Satsuki didn't question it at the time. In reality, Munakata decided to keep the sudden appearance of Nudist Beach a secret. As they were also the ones who rescued Ryota and brought him to Future Foundation after he almost fell into a river while trying to escape the rioting Reserve Course students since Junko was distracted by Satsuki.
"I'm still concerned about how much is still left." Satsuki said before receiving a call on her cell phone.
"Lady Satsuki, several students are running rampant around the main building." Gamagori reported.
"Explain." Satsuki commanded.
"My men and I are trying to stop them, but it seems as if something is making them go insane again." Gamagori replied as Satsuki heard fighting on the other line.
Only to hear another call, "Hold on Gamagori, I'm receiving another call." Satsuki said before placing him on hold. "Speak Inumuta, I've been told about more rioters…"
"Pardon the interruption Lady Satsuki, but while I do not wish to make a fool of you by pointing out the obvious. It seems as though Enoshima's film has been released all across the nation." Inumuta said surprising Satsuki. "It seems as though the film she revealed had been re-released with scenes of Chiaki Nanami's "death" as an attempt to crush all signs of reason." he continued to explain.
"How bad is it?" Satsuki asked as she started to crush her phone out of frustration.
In Class 77
"Chisa" stood in front of her classroom with a smile plastered on her face. As the fires suddenly started to appear as the Main Course began to tear apart the other floors of the school. With the remaining members of the class looking pleased as if it were the end of another school year.
"Please do remember what you have learned this year and to keep the experience with you." the fake Chisa said proudly.
Hiyoko giggled as she stood up with a fan, "My dances will shower everyone in Despair!" she announced.
"My food's might tastes will give everyone something to Despair about." Teruteru adds.
"You make this sound more troublesome than it really is." Fuyuhiko said as he had his own agenda of Despair.
The impostor watched as Chisa's class walked out of the classroom with happy or calm expressions. As the fires continued to rage on around her. Once they were gone, the fake teacher sighed and pulled off her disguise. Thus revealing Nui in one of her many disguises.
"Wow, this sure is fun. Although, it's going to get boring." Nui pouted. "Sure, it's not order, but a new way of life. But that's what cavemen used to do! Lady Ragyo, why does this feel boring already!" she yelled out as if Ragyo herself could hear her whining.
Seeing as standing around and complaining was doing nothing for her. Nui shrugged and decided to skip around. As she made a turn towards the next hallway. Nui looked around and saw how big the fire and destruction the insane students have caused. The lolita let out another shrug as she dashed around the destruction as it was now slightly more tricky to exit the building.
"This is fine." Nui said as she ignored the fire.
Any sane person or anyone on the breach of insanity who actually saw Nui coming out from the fire. Would more than likely feel sheer terror if they saw that sadistic smile exiting from the destroyed building.
With Junko
As if this was the meaning of Mukuro's life. The Ultimate Soldier found herself on the floor with Junko insulting her as well as physically abusing her. All because Mukuro did not catch onto a metaphor that Junko made while she observed Class 77.
"It means… augh! I don't have time to explain it to you!" Junko groaned.
"Sister, I think that building is burning." Mukuro said.
"It's fine." Junko said as she ignored her materpiece.
"So in the end, instead of Hope. Despair is anarchy. Anarchy can still have a form of society, even if it's a mess." Izuru commented as he saw the destruction unfold.
"Well yeah, but there's no absolute insurance of what will happen next." Junko said as she was ready to explain her devotion to Despair again.
"I'll take my leave then. I'm not needed here anymore." Izuru said.
"Hold up! What do you think about my little mascot?" Junko asked.
The Despair crazed girl pointed at the ledge of the roof they were on. Where Izuru saw a disturbing doll that's designed to look like a normal man but with half of it's body exposing it's organs.
"I call it, Phantom." Junko said.
Izuru proceeded to kick Phantom off the roof, "It's ugly." he said.
"Fine, I'll stick with my other design then." Junko said as she pulled out the black and white bear from earlier. Izuru then left the building after that, "Wow, so rude." she said as the chaos continued to unfold.
"Sister Junko, do we really need to kill off the rioters after this? Why not have them join us?" Mukuro asked.
"Yeah, they're too much like you. I don't need stupid people running around everywhere." Junko said as she continued watching the anarcy spread around the school.
With Ragyo
Ragyo yawned as she saw the destruction unfold from her penthouse in the city, "So this was the end goal?" she asked. "Interesting, quite progressive indeed, but there is no hope. Literally, I see no hope as to how this will benefit me." she said.
"Lady Ragyo, the riots are continuing to spread all around Japan. The citizens are going insane and the military is having issues containing the insantiy." Rei said as she looked at her tablet with slight concern.
Ragyo frowned, "Rei, have the edited version of the film released. The last thing I need is this world to be brought back to the stone world." she said.
"Lady Ragyo?" Rei asked.
"You heard me Rei, I would rather not be living among neanderthals. Especially knowing how difficult they are to control." Ragyo said as Rei nodded.
"It will be done at once." Rei said as she left the room.
Ragyo let out a sigh as she sat down and watched the anarchy, "Creative, resourceful and successful. I give you points Enoshima-san, my only critique is your purpose." she said as she looked at some files on her desk. "There is room for improvement, but so little time. What will you do from this point?" she asked.
Back at Hopes Peak Academy
Every student that was still rioting had suddenly stopped. With Junko believing that her work is already finished. She sent a text message to everyone that was somehow connected to her. Telling them that the job was done and… apparently their lives were also finished. As some started to walk up to the broken windows of each room and began to jump. With a few leaving giant dents splatted by blood on the ground. However, while tragic and horrendous regardless of the numbers.
Many were saved due to the One Stars that were on standby. Along with the Divas who were utilizing their own underlings to catch them and restrain them.
"If you keep trying to end your lives! I will send you to a world worse than purgatory!" Gamagori yelled as some students actually started to feel mortal fear than Despair.
"What is this? Some sort of sale on diving lessons?" Jakuzure asked as her subordinates started catching people with trampolines.
"It's foolish, but we have to save them. Then remind them that fear outweighs despair." Gamagori said as he started going through his playbook.
"Somehow I don't doubt that." Jakuzure said as the Despair made everyone insane and/or emotionless.
Giving them fear will give them a more "Healthy" emotion to snap back into reality.
Just as they continued to save the many students they could get their hands on. The Divas watched as Tengan and Koichi ran out of the building to see the tragedy.
"This is worse than I could have foreseen!" Tengan said with wide eyes.
"Steer clear old man. There's a lot of people falling down like bricks." Jakuzure said as she suddenly started shoving them back.
"Hey, we're just trying to help!" Koichi argued.
"Then grab a trampoline and spread out." Jakuzure said, not caring for the former teacher's authority.
Tengan closed his eyes and sighed, "The young lady has a point Koichi. I'm not sure what we can do on our, but this will have to do." he said as he took off his trench coat.
Koichi relented, "I guess, but still. What caused all of this." he said as he started to scramble around and help.
"Speaking of help, where is Satsuki-chan? I am well aware that you are her most trusted followers." Tengan asked.
"Lady Satsuki is in the middle of her own agenda. She said she would deal with it fairly quickly." Gamagori answered.
"Isn't Sanageyama supposed to be here too? Where is he?" Jakuzure asked with slight irritation.
With Izuru Kamakura
Izuru stared at the hair clip he took from Chiaki's unconscious body. The silly little thing was in the shape of a rocket from a retro video game. For some reason Izuru found it intriguing and stared at it as if it were a shiny gemstone he found on a trail. Perhaps it was the little memories or details of Hajime Hinata that are within him that compelled the failed experiment to take this charm with him.
Even with the world burning around him, Izuru still felt incomplete. Most likely as he felt more like an observer rather than a savior. Perhaps his existence is meant to just watch things fan out and see how can benefit. Benefitting in terms of how much something piques his interest. Izuru was still confused as to what he wanted and still questioned Junko's goal. Was Despair really just a new way to live life or was it just anarchy that was orchestrated by a sadist who desperately hates conformity?
"Only time will tell." Izuru said as he pocketed Chiaki's charm.
"Yeah, that's depending on how much time you have." Izuru narrowed his eyes as he turned around.
Standing right behind him was none other than Uzu Sanageyama with a boken hanging over his shoulder. Izuru narrowed his eyes as he could tell this young man is an experienced swordsmen. Maybe one stronger than Peko Pekoyama in his base form from the looks of things. While Izuru was only provided very little knowledge on Satsuki's inner circle and the workings of a Goku Uniform. He knew those things could make any human being stronger than a trained Olympian in their prime and with perfect health.
"You found me, but what is it that you want?" Izuru asked.
Sanageyama let out a snort, "It's what Satsuki wants. Someone tipped her off about that underground lab and we can tell you're the experiment they made." he answered.
"And what would your leader want with me?" Izuru asked curiously.
"You can come peacefully and find out on your own. Though, I think your mind is not the type to settle down and chat. Even if Satsuki offered tea and crumpets." Sanageyama said with the last part being a joke.
Izuru suddenly appeared beside Sanageyama, "Then give me a reason to follow you." he said he threw his fist at the swordsman's face.
Only for it to be blocked by the boken, "Diplomacy sucks, but at least it's interesting now." Sanageyama said as the boken started to crack from Izuru's punch.
Izuru then threw a kick towards Sanageyama's head which was blocked just in time. The swordsman winced as he could feel a lot of power behind the kick. Still, in his mind, Izuru isn't invincible as he seems to be. With that, Sanageyama decided to get serious and pushed Izuru away. Before grabbing a real sword and repeatedly thrusted his blade towards Izuru's chest. Only to witness the Ultimate Gymnast's talent within Izuur.
As Izuru dodged with a big back flip away from Sanageyama. Sanageyama frowned as he chased after Izuru who analyzed his style of fighting. By the time Sanageyama reached Izuru, the latter ripped out a nearby pipe and used it as a sword. Surprisingly, the pipe held up well against Sanageyama's sword until it was finally sliced into pieces. Along with Izuru's tie, but not any other article of his clothing.
"You know, I never understood the idea of fighting while wearing a suit. That thing is so stiff, you can hardly move in it and it's not ventilated." Sanageyama pointed out.
Izuru nodded as he tossed away his jacket, "Good point." he said as he took a fighting stance.
Sanageyama brought down his sword only to be kneed in the face. Not letting a surprise attack deter him, Sanageyama quickly recovered and thrusted his sword against Izuru's side. Once again, Sanageyama was surprised as he saw the wound he left on Izuru's body. Very little blood came out, but he could see some familiar red threads coming from the large wound.
'What is that?' Sanageyama thought as he blocked Izuru's kick.
After blocking a few a few more of Izuru's kicks and punches. Sanageyama repeatedly slashed at Izuru who quickly dodged each attack. Eventually, Sanageyama slipped up and and ended up getting his arms caught in a strange leg grapple on Izuru's part. Izuru used the momentum to flip Sanageyama onto his stomach before repeatedly punching him in the face.
"That's it! I'm done playing around!" Sanageyama yelled as he thrusted Izuru off of him.
Before quickly using his Three Star Goku Uniform's power to speed up his attacks. When he finally landed a heavy blow down Izuru's chest that stunned the Ultimate Hope. Sanageyama took this moment of weakness to repeatedly slash Izuru's entire body without hitting any vital points. Izuru crashed down onto the ground to see Izuru's clothes slowly fall apart and reveal more red threads.
"What the!? Are those Life Fibers!?" Sanageyama asked as Izuru slowly tried to stand up. "I thought those eggheads were making some overpowered kid with a lot of fancy and useless skills. Where they trying to turn you into a Goku Uniform?" he asked with wide eyes.
Izuru grunted as he took a knee, "Goku Uniform. Life Fibers." he said as he looked at his wounds. "The clothes you wear. They make you powerful?" he asked.
"Yeah, but I held back because Satsuki doesn't want me to kill you on accident." Sanageyama answered wearily.
"I see, so I'm not entirely perfect. I am just a test subject for mother." Izuru said as he comprehended that he's more than the Ultimate Hope.
"What are you going on about?" Sanageyama asked as he cautiously raised up his sword.
Izuru shook his head, "Nothing, you offended me is all." he said angering Sanageyama. "Show me your true power. I refuse to accept any less." he said wanting to experience a Three Star Goku Uniform's power.
"You are making it tempting for me to do it." Sanageyama said as Izuru annoyed him enough to want to use all that power.
With Satsuki
Having found out about the precautions that Principal Jin Kirigiri was taking to save the students that were not filled with Despair. Satsuki immediately took command of the plan before literally and figuratively throwing Jin out the door. Where she then proceeded to go towards the building where the first years were told to stay put.
Now, Satsuki was patrolling the halls of the school while students were locking down the school. Going as far as to put metal barriers held down by giant steel bolts. That along with other barriers to keep every one of the insane students and other citizens of this country from breaking in. Sure, the students themselves could not escape either but that's only through brute force and some unorthodox methods. That didn't mean that there wasn't a way to escape as the main control room had an emergency mechanism to let everyone out.
"How long do you think we'll be in here Naegi?" Satsuki heard Sayaka Maizono ask.
"I'm sure it will be clear in a day or two. This is just a safety precaution." Naegi said said.
Just as Satsuki prepared to continue her patrol. She saw Naegi trip on a random piece of paper on the ground like a fool. Not noticing that a large wrench almost crashed into his head. Satsuki pretended not see that it wasn't tossed by Mukuro who was covering her ear. Most likely holding some sort of device that was taking orders from Junko. What Mukuro didn't know was that Satsuki is well aware of Mukuro and her affiliation with Junko despite the two having never physically met before.
Even with relatively different faces and surnames. It wouldn't take too much time to dig into Junko's profile to find out that she had a twin sister. Especially as it appears that Mukuro is far stronger and skilled than Junko, but lacks the same amount of independence and intelligence.
'I'll be seeing how well you function when your sister is not pulling your strings like a puppeteer.' Satsuki thought as she looked at Mukuro through the corner of her eye.
For a brief moment, Mukuro shot a glare at at Satsuki. Where she quickly grabbed the wrench that embedded itself into a pillar. Luckily, no one else noticed how deep the wrench dug itself after Mukuro tossed it.
Some time had passed and Satsuki found herself entering the control room where the technical aspects of the school were functioning. As the heiress went over the basic infrastructure. She turned her head at the sound of someone entering the room with her. Which immediately became suspicious as there were no other teachers or staff in the building and the students had no authorization. Not that any of them had the courage or reason to challenge Satsuki.
As Satsuki reached for her weapon. She suddenly found herself wrapped up by several hundred thin Life Fibers. With enough strength, the attacker forced Satsuki to fall onto her knees and struggle as she could not break free.
"Sister Junko wants you dealt with immediately." Mukuro said as she revealed herself.
With her hand looking like it had fallen apart and turned into yarn. This situation almost made Mukuro look like a doll with the threads hanging out and the cold emotionless eyes she gave Satsuki.
"Such is the purpose of a puppet." Satsuki said as she looked at Mukuro. Mukuro immediately gripped Satsuki by her cheeks, "I will not waste my energy speaking with someone who cannot think without permission." she said as Mukuro added pressure to her grip.
The Ultimate Soldier quickly realized that brute force would not be enough to harm Satsuki. Someone with a stone cold exterior has no concern with pain, but mental pain is another thing altogether. With that in mind, Mukuro dragged Satsuki's restrained body away before anyone could wonder where either of them are.
As Satsuki was taken against her will. She closed her eyes and let out a small smile as she pondered on what Mukuro is planning. This will make a perfect test to understand how strong Mukuro's independent mental capacity is.
In Kobe
As mentioned before, all around the nation, the citizens began to go insane as the Despair brought out the worst in everyone. However, there were quite the few who were organized and defended their homes. Going as far as to prepare their own defenses to push away the insane citizens by brute force. Kyuji Obayashi, representative of Kami Kobe High School, stood tall on the giant barrier guarding his school. As he gave the rioters a defiant look as they prepared to attack his school.
"Bring out the tank!" Kyuji ordered as a giant army tank blasted through the doors.
Some of the rioters were taken aback. Just as the few who ignored the danger still continued moving forward. They were sent flying back by the tank.
*BOOM*
"Keep firing! The rest of you cover the flank!" Kyuji ordered as several dozen students in American Football uniforms pulled out their footballs.
"You heard the man! Don't let that trash anywhere near here!" Kenta Sakuramiya, Kyuji's deputy, commanded.
From there, each rioter were found many footballs crashing into their faces. While not as deadly as the tank's artillery shells. They were still capable of painfully crippling them.
"That's it! Show them not to mess with our school!" Kyuji yelled as more footballs arrived.
In Kyoto
Many rioters could be seen having fallen once they reached the center of Akebamo Academy. As the four leaders of the school stood at the top and watched as the aberrations of the four guardian beasts of the four cardinal directions appeared over their bodies.
"You have chosen the wrong lifetime to invade. For this school has stood for thousands of years and will not falter today." one of them said. "For we are, Tarō Genbu Guardian Student of the North, Jirō Suzaku Guardian Student of the South, Saburō Seiryū Guardian Student of the East, and Shirō Byakko Guardian Student of the West!" they announced.
The four guardian beasts let out ferocious roars as to scare away any other fool daring to invade their domain. If this school really has stood for that long. It was safe to say that someone more powerful and dangerous than a group of crazed maniacs would have to try very hard to bring down this institution.
In Osaka
They say that the western countries had taken a heavy effect on eastern countries as the west had a unique culture. Regardless of one's opinions, it seems that Osaka had taken a great liking to capitalism. As it appeared that the city was fairly wealthy and full of business and whether or not money is the route of evil. Money itself is often the macguffin of one's motivations and it seemed like a bunch of people having gone crazy from watching Junko's film were not welcomed.
Though some did come to their senses.
"What the hell is wrong with me? Sure, that crap is messed up but what am I getting done exactly?" asked a former rioter.
Suddenly, Kaneo Takarada put an arm around the rioter's shoulder, "Let me explain it to ya, yo. See here, money talks and money don't wanna be silenced." he said as he showed the Takarada currency. "This here, it's worth more than gold. You don't want your livelihood to go to waste because of one bad day right?" he asked.
The rioter shook their head, "No, that doesn't make sense." they said.
"Right, now be a good homie and take up an arm yo. These bitches need to learn their place." Kaneo said as he handed them a gun armed with money.
"Yes sir!" the rioter said as they jumped at the front of the rioters. "Back the hell up! You're not ruining my livelihood!" they screamed before opening fire.
"That's the spirit!" Kaneo yelled as more people took arms and shot at the rioters.
Kaneo let out a laugh as he tossed more money into the air. With his lackeys picking it up and getting their weapons ready. All while Kaneo went back to his office in Naniwa Kinman High School where he would keep an eye on things from his comfortable perspective.
"Crazy asses, trying to ruin business and such." Kaneo muttered.
"Wait, is this money? Hey! Let me join your side!" a rioter yelled making Kaneo laugh as he got more recruits for the cause.
In Honoji Academy
The citizens of Hono were already locking up their homes and getting their weapons ready. Especially as a few refugees decided to risk their lives and hide out in the alleyways as the outer parts were swarmed. All the while Inumuta was overlooking things at Honoji Academy.
"How bad is it?" Shiro asked.
"Very, but nothing a few modifications cannot handle." Inumuta said as he pressed some buttons on his wrist.
"You better keep up the defenses. I require more time to finish my new uniforms for the new presidents." Shiro said as his entire club were working their fingers to the bone to make brand new uniforms.
"That is good to hear. I think some of the new presidents are fairly eager to battle a few unwanted visitors." Inumuta said as he saw the captain candidates walking out of the school.
Hono City streets
As Inumuta stated, many of the candidates wishing to become presidents of their clubs were making their way down the streets. All of whom were wearing prototype uniforms fit for their respective clubs. All of which were going to be used and recorded for study for Inumuta and Shiro if they help with last minute adjustments. Where they quickly met the many rioters that managed to make it this far. Only for them to be hit by various projectiles on the way towards the upper city.
Starting with a tennis player with a giant racket, "Nice try, but Lady Satsuki is going to be furious if you touch our school! Now pick up a racket, because you're facing me! Omiko Hakodate, President of the Tennis Club!" Omiko shouted as she unleashed a volley tennis balls.
Then a young man punched the ground where a crowd of rioters were, "Don't think you're having all the fun with her! Because I, Takaharu Fukuroda, President of the Boxing Club, need a new punching bag!" Takaharu yelled.
A group of rioters suddenly found themselves being kicked by a group of folk dancers, "Move your legs and match the beat. I'm Maimu Okurahama, President of the Folk Dance Club and you all have two left feet!" she yelled angrily as she repeatedly kicked the rioters.
Then the plants started to come to life and ensnared the rioters, "Get out of here! There were some good seeds around here! I'm Kusatao Uwabami, President of the Gardening Club and you're trampling the few good plants around here!" he exclaimed.
As the chaos unfolded, Mataro Makanshoku and his gang could be seen looting the unconscious rioters. Mataro almost cried tears of joy as all the spare change and cash he found from the out of town visitors were bringing in.
"So young, so hopeful, it needs to die!" a Despair crazed rioter yelled as they tried to hit Mataro.
Only for the rioter to be hit in the knees with a bat, "I got him boss!" one of Mataro's boys said.
"Grab their wallet and run!" Mataro ordered as they looted all that they could carry and ran back to his house.
Where they found his angry mother waiting for them, "Mataro, what are you doing? Don't you know the apocalypse is going on? Were you looting again?" she asked.
Like many citizens in Hono city, the Makonshoku family is very poor. To the point that most citizens can only watch television through the television store's televisions. However, there are times when the store owner has to threaten people with violence to leave if they didn't buy a television or at least pay for the electricity he uses to keep them on. Even so, the city had very poor reception and were not able to see Junko's film.
Who are we kidding? Most of the citizens have never heard of internet.
"But mom! One of them assaulted us! So we had to get payback!" Mataro whined.
Mataro's sister and mother were about to berate him when his father spoke up, "He's got a point Sukuyo. That money is basically compensation, otherwise we have a right to sue." Barazo said.
"Oh? Then I guess that's fine." Sukuyo said as she turned a blind eye.
"Wait, so we can get free money if we claim it to be assault?" Mako asked with wide eyes.
"Yup! Also I'm a doctor so I can confirm physical and mental trauma!" Barazo said as he gave a thumbs up.
From that day forth, Inumuta received a lot of data that would benefit him. That and the Makanshoku would have a lot of money for Sukuyo to purchase meat. Specifically the type of meat where the expiration date is much longer than two days. Oh and, society didn't collapse as Junko wanted so Barazo did have the right to file a lawsuit once everyone came back to their senses.
With Ragyo again
Ragyo let out a smug look as she saw the functioning screens around each city come to life again. Like her daughter, Ragyo had a lot of underling that worked for her. Only unlike Satsuki's subordinates, Ragyo did care for their lives or their inability to think on their own. Which was good for her as Ragyo made many of them risk their lives to restore power to connections so that she could present her own film.
"The film is ready Lady Ragyo." Rei said as she was standing behind a computer.
Ragyo grinned, "Then play it now Rei. Give me the world." she said as Rei nodded.
It wouldn't be too long before the film that Ragyo modified had aired all around the world. Only when it ended, instead of Despair. Everyone stopped and realized how much they needed REVOCS in their life. Leaving a very satisfied Ragyo looking over the dying flames of the city below her.
TO BE CONTINUED…
OMAKE - Springfield
*BAM*
Moe reloaded his shotgun as he blasted a rioter out of his window, "There ain't no apocalypse ruining my business. I just hope that if there is a world tomorrow. My old friends can still be here to drink." he said.
Moe then looked at the wall of the many patrons who visit his bar. Mainly to get drunk and have their conversations where bring up their lives. It was simple but Moe enjoyed it. That and he's going to have to shut down the tavern if his business is gone along with his clientele.
"I'm sure Barney and the others are fine." Moe said as he heard the door banging. "Hold your horses! I got a few buckshots and lots of rock salt waiting for you!" he yelled as he readied his shotgun.
Meanwhile with Barney
"PROTECT THE BEER! AHHHHHH!" Barney screamed as all of the drunks were guarding the Duff brewery.
All around the factory, the drunks of Springfield were armed with guns, knives and even molotovs as they fended off the Despair rioters. In the distance, they could see various elements of their town's inhabitants fighting back. No one was sure if they were trying to beat back the Despair or if they had their own secret agenda. Whatever it was, Mr. Burns likely had a good reason to summon an army of robots to attack the rioters.
"We're low on alcohol!" another drunk yelled.
Barney gripped his own head and screamed, "We're doomed!" he yelled.
"Not if Duff Man has anything to say about it! Oh yeah!" Duff Man yelled as he arrived.
Along with a fleet of chinook army helicopters flying behind him. Duff Man then jumped down and met Barney with two six packs of beers. The drunks cheered as their hero came running inside.
"Duff Man is proud to present, Duff Veteran! The beer for men with guns!" Duff Man said proudly. "Duff Man does not support the use of firearms while under the influence of alcohol." he said as he read a legal statement from his lawyers and PR team.
"The ammo is here boys! Keep fighting!" Barney yelled.
As the war for Beer- I mean, Springfield was far from over. Homer Simpson himself could be seen in the distance riding a tank with a giant Duff logo on the side. All the while he sings patriotic songs with "Duff" and "beer" in the lyrics.
End of Omake
