Chapter 134
After a long and emotional talk with her mother, Natalia was completely drained. Once her mom and sister left to have some one-on-one time and give Natalia a chance to process everything, Olivia came back to the room, deciding they would stay at the hotel for the night. Ava and Rafe had come in and bid them both goodnight before they headed back to the farmhouse, both wanting to be in their own apartments for the night so they could process everything that had happened themselves. Not that they stayed separated for long, the two ending up snuggled together in their mother's bed.
Olivia promised them both that she would make time to speak with them the following day before getting Emma from school and then took her wife to bed. The two silently stripped from their clothes and went about their nightly routines, forgoing pajamas since they were alone in their suite. They migrated to the middle of the bed and were soon wrapped in each other's arms.
Olivia kissed her wife's temple, allowing her lips to linger for a few moments. "Are you okay sweetheart?"
Natalia pulled back enough to look up at her wife. "Yes. I think so. It's been a long day. I'm still having trouble believing that mama is actually here, that she left my father and her life behind."
"She wants to be here honey. It was easy to see how much she has missed you and how much regret she has over what happened."
"I know. It doesn't make it any easier though."
"I know. It's going to take time baby, but we'll get through this, just like we've gotten through everything else life has thrown at us."
"I just, part of me wanted to just throw her out the moment I saw her. Does that make me a bad person?"
Olivia cupped her cheek in her hand. "No baby. It does not make you a bad person, just human." She pecked her lips sweetly before pulling back. "It's natural to want to push away the people that have hurt us. I wouldn't have blamed you if you had. But that's what makes you so amazing. Honey, you could have told her no, you could have refused to even hear her out, we both know I would have, but you didn't. Part of why I love you so much is your uncanny ability to forgive even the most heinous of crimes. Lord knows I wouldn't be here if you couldn't."
"I couldn't not forgive you Olivia. Even if my head didn't know it, my heart loved you from the very beginning. I had no choice but to forgive you. You are the other half of my soul; I couldn't live without you mi amor."
"Nor I you. I love you so much Natalia."
"I love you too Olivia. But this, with my mother, it's different. What she did, it's different. I was her daughter and she just allowed my father to throw me away. She didn't even fight to keep a picture of me up in her house. She let him erase me from their lives, and now she's here and she wants to start over, to just forget about all of that. I don't know if I can do that Olivia."
"Sweetheart, no one expects you to forget, just forgive, which you already have. Now we just move forward. You don't need to forget what happened baby, just like we haven't forgotten anything that happened between us, but, we have moved passed it. I think that's all your mom wants, is to try and move forward and have some sort of relationship with you. I'm not saying it's going to be easy, but, I will be here, right by your side, every step of the way. And, if you decide that you can't, that it's too much, I'll support you in that too."
Natalia surged forward and kissed her wife, hard. All she had ever wanted was for someone to be there for her. To support her in every way, and Olivia was. She was there for all the good, the bad, and the ugly. Her love and support never wavered. In that moment, all Natalia could think about was how much she loved her wife and was loved in return. She let the rest of the world fall away and got lost in her love. Letting the events with both of her parents fall to the wayside as she gave herself over to the undeniable pull towards her wife, towards their love.
Maneuvering to lay completely on top of her wife, Natalia slid her thigh between Olivia's legs, feeling the heat and wetness already radiating from Olivia's center. She deepened the kiss, slipping her tongue out to lick across her wife's bottom lip before plunging it inside. Her hands ran up her sides, tickling along her skin until she reached the underside of her breast. She cupped both in her hands, rolling stiff nipples between thumbs and forefingers.
Olivia pulled back from the kiss, both women breathless as Olivia moaned out in pleasure. "Natalia." She panted, running one hand down her back to grip her ass, pulling her tighter against her, while the other tangled in raven locks.
Natalia moved her mouth to kiss along Olivia's jaw, down her neck, stopping just below her ear to mark her as her own. Encouraged by the breathy moans escaping from her lover. She moved one hand down between their bodies, sifting through the small patch of hair before slicking it through Olivia's wetness, coating her fingers in hot arousal, bringing them up to the stiff clit begging for attention and circling.
Olivia gasped at the sure touch of her wife, raising her knee, and pressing her own thigh harder into Natalia. Bringing the hand from Natalia's firm ass around to her clit, she mirrored her wife's movements, using the hand in her hair to encourage her to release her neck and bring their lips back together in a passionate kiss. Both women slipping fingers inside tight heat as their tongues dueled for dominance.
The kiss broke, both women panting, their bodies moving in sync with one another as they thrust into each other, both rushing towards their release. Natalia looked down at her wife, brown locking with green as their pace slowed, remaining deep but now, instead of need, their motions were filled with all the love they only ever felt with one another.
Olivia sank all the way into her love, pressing deep and curling her fingers to hit that spot that would have her wife careening over the edge. Natalia mirrored her movement, their eyes never straying. As they both started to feel their orgasm building inside them, Natalia leaned down and pressed their lips together again in a much less feisty manner then their previous kisses. This one was slow and deep as they continued to move together.
Pulling back from the kiss once more, Natalia groaned in pleasure. "Oh god…Olivia…I love you…I love you so mu…Ahhh!" Those words were all that were needed for both women to fall off the cliff into pure bliss.
Natalia collapsed on top of her love, both women breathing heavy, their fingers still inside one another. Olivia slowly pulled her fingers out, bringing them to her lips and licking over them until they were cleaned. She rubbed her hands up and down Natalia's back, kissing her temple, her forehead, her cheeks, and finally her lips, allowing Natalia to taste herself on her tongue.
"Mmm. I love you sweetheart."
Natalia kissed her once more, much more chastely as she moved to the side of her, laying her head on her shoulder. "I love you too."
Olivia laced their fingers together over her stomach and tickled the fingertips of her other hand down Natalia's spine. "Not that I'm complaining, but what brought that on?"
Natalia peered up into the green depths of her wife and smiled. "Sorry, I just, I needed you right then. You are so much more then I could have ever hoped or dream for in a spouse. Sometimes I still can't believe you're mine. I'm not sure what I did to deserve you."
"First of all, never apologize for making love to me, anywhere, anytime, I am yours sweetheart. Secondly, if anyone should be questioning their worth in this relationship, it's most definitely me. You are so amazing Natalia. You're so full of goodness and grace, of hope for a better tomorrow, and unwavering faith that everything will work out in the end. You are all the things I could never be and then some. What you ever saw in me…" She paused and shook her head. "God Natalia, I will never be able to figure out what in the hell made you want to be with me, but I thank my lucky stars every single day."
Natalia stretched up and kissed her soundly. "I want you just because you're you. You may not be perfect Olivia, but you are perfect for me."
"Just as you are perfect for me. Too perfect. I love you Natalia, more than I could have ever imagined loving another person, aside from my kids."
"And I love you just as much." The two shared several more kisses before settling down together and allowing sleep to overtake them.
The following morning Olivia got a call from Mr. Milson, their contractor in St. Louis. They were ahead of schedule and would be completely done with the renovations in the next week. As excited as she was to be able to open their newest hotel, she wasn't sure if she and Natalia really had the time to plan another grand opening at the moment.
She would have to get Greg to help with that, perhaps even speak with Ashley Wolfe, knowing how much she would love to be a party planner. She owed Doris more then she could ever repay her anyways, if Ashley did a good job planning the grand opening, it was possible Olivia would be able to find a full-time position for her.
As she hung up and headed to the room to wake her wife, who had actually slept far longer than usual, so they could join her in-laws for breakfast, she decided she would ask Josh to go and check on the progress in St. Louis one last time before she and Natalia made the trip. She'd offer to pay for Reva and Collin to join him, a weekend family trip of sorts. Not that he would ever accept the offer.
As she walked into the room her breath caught in her chest as her eyes settled onto the beauty laid out before her. Natalia must have kicked the blanket off sometime after Olivia had left the bed for her phone call because she now lay naked with the blanket and sheet barely covering the lower half of her right leg and nothing more. Olivia couldn't help but to run her eyes down the length of her wife's nude form and then back up, paying extra attention to her breast and the apex between her thighs.
A burst of arousal shot through her and she was instantly wet. Wanting nothing more than to wake her wife up in the most delightful way. She sighed, knowing it wasn't possible as she glanced at the clock and realized they were already going to be cutting it close in meeting her mother and sister in the lobby for breakfast at Company. Shaking the wonderfully naughty thoughts from her head, she approached the side of the bed and ran a hand from Natalia's hip to her cheek, stopping only for a second to lightly cup her breast. When Natalia merely turned onto her side and reached for Olivia without even opening her eyes, Olivia chuckled as she placed a sweet kiss to her loves cheek.
"Sweetheart, it's time to wake up, we're going to be late meeting you family for breakfast." All she got was a grunt as Natalia blindly reached for her again, trying to cuddle into her and unable to since Olivia was crouched by the side of the bed and not actually on it. Olivia just shook her head and kissed her wife's cheek again, then her forehead, eyebrows, temple, the tip of her nose, and finally her lips.
That was what finally did it. After only a moment Natalia kissed her back before pulling back with a lazy smile on her face. "Mmm. Good morning cariña."
"Morning sleepy head." With a final kiss she stood back to her full height and held a hand to her wife. "We don't have much time, but, if you get that sexy ass of yours outta that bed right now we can squeeze in a quick shower together before we go down to Company." Natalia all but leapt from the bed and the two dashed into the bathroom and into the glass shower.
After a not so quick shower, and more than one shared climax, the two finally made their way down to the room Olivia had booked for Clara. When no one answered they headed for Isabel's room and then the lobby before finally texting her. After being informed they had headed to Company when neither of the Spencer-Rivera wife's answered their phones, they chuckled and joined hands as they made their way out of their hotel and down to Company.
The bell dinged as they walked through the door of the restaurant and Olivia and Natalia felt several sets of eyes on them as they made their over to the table Isabel and Clara were seated at.
"Morning, sorry we're late, someone decided today was the one day in her life she would sleep in." Olivia said, sliding into the booth and winking at her wife.
"Yes, I'm sure that's what kept you." Isabel stated sarcastically.
Natalia blushed profusely as she watched realization dawn on her mother's face about what had actually kept them from meeting in the hotel lobby as they had arranged the previous night. Clearing her throat, she tried desperately to ignore the part of her that felt like a teenager after getting caught by their parents. "So, Mama, how was your first night? Did you sleep okay?"
Before she could answer, Blake made her way to the table with Olivia and Natalia's usual coffees. "You ladies ready to order?" she asked, trying not to make it obvious that she had just heard Natalia refer to the latest newcomer in their town as 'mama.'
The entire restaurant had been gossiping about the woman since she and Isabel came in twenty minutes earlier. Blake and Buzz both suspected it was Isabel and Natalia's mother, but, since they both knew Natalia hadn't spoken to her since before Rafe was born, they couldn't be positive, no matter how much she looked like an older version of both her daughters.
"I'll just take my usual muffin Blake, thanks. Honey, you want your usual?" Olivia asked.
"You know, today I think I'll have some of Buzz's oatmeal and some toast please Blake. Mama, Isabel, do you know what you want?"
Isabel and Clara both gave their orders and then Blake quickly scurried off to the kitchen and then to the counter, leaning in close to the blue-eyed woman sipping coffee in front of her that Natalia and Olivia had failed to notice.
Just as Blake brought their order to the table, the unmistakable voice of one Ashley Wolfe rang through the building as she approached her mother, who was trying very hard to look as though she hadn't been watching what was occurring at the Rivera/Spencer-Rivera table.
Olivia glanced towards her friend and felt a pang of guilt hit her that she hadn't spoken much with her friend other than to tell her that Emma was staying at the Spaulding mansion the night before so she was free for the night. And she realized that Emma hadn't even called them last night, other than for a story from Natalia as promised. It made her happy to think maybe her little girl might actually be moving forward and be able to sleep without her mothers or her aunty Doris. Come to think it they hadn't heard from any of their children last night, nor had the older two ended up in their suite as she had thought they might.
Excusing herself, she made her way over to the mayor and sat on the stool next to her. "Hey there Wolfe. How was your night last night? Enjoy not being kicked by my daughter?"
"Well, hello to you too. I did enjoy my night thank you, although I was woken by a three-a.m. phone call from my little angel." Olivia was a little shocked to hear that since neither Emma nor Beth had called her and it was clearly written on her face that she was a bit miffed at the information. "Oh, cool it mama bear. She woke up and wanted to sleep with me. Beth got her calmed down and after I spoke with her and promised I would come get her if she needed me to, she agreed to try and stick it out with Beth. Which apparently she did since I didn't receive another call."
Olivia relaxed a little, knowing that Emma would have wanted to call Doris even if she had been with Olivia and Natalia the night before. Even on the nights she slept in their bed, she still wanted Doris in the house. As much as it still stung Olivia, she knew that Doris made Emma feel safe and that was the most important thing. "And what of my older children? Have you spoken to them as well, cause Natalia and I haven't heard from either of them since they left the hotel last night?"
"I'm afraid I have not, although I'm sure they figured they would see you both when they got to work this morning."
"Actually, they should be here any minute." Ashley cut in. "I spoke with Rafe a little while ago and he said since he and Ava had a rough night last night, they were going in late today and asked to meet for breakfast."
"Oh, good. Did he mention why they had a rough night?" Olivia asked, concerned for all of her children as always.
"No, just that he and Ava tried to sleep in their own beds but ended up in yours and Natalia's."
"Oh…" She was cut off by the sound of the bell above the door as her two eldest entered the restaurant. "And here they are."
"So, is that who I think it is?" Doris asked, motioning to Natalia's mom with her head.
"Yes. I'm sorry I haven't spoken to you; things have been a little crazy."
"I heard about what happened with Natalia's father. I was going to stop by last night, but then you called and said Emma was with Beth and you and Natalia were at the hotel so I figured I would just catch up with you sometime today. Are you and Natalia okay?"
"Yes, thank you. He wasn't the kindest man, but Natalia and Isabel both stood up to him and I couldn't be prouder. That's when I decided to send Rafe to Chicago to get his grandmother. I thought it would be good for both of them."
"It looks as though it's going okay."
"It is. Natalia is still adjusting to her being here, and having some trouble letting go of the past, but she'll get there. It's who she is."
"Yes, we all know you married a saint just shy of being a nun." Doris smirked.
Olivia chuckled at her friend and the reminder of the way she used to referrer to her wife, back when she was trying so hard to hate her. In that moment, as she looked at the raven-haired beauty she was lucky enough to have, she knew she would never be more grateful to fail at something as she was for failing to be able to hate Natalia.
"Yeah, well…" She was cut off again as her eldest approached after chatting with their ma for a moment. They both kissed her cheek before Rafe went to stand by Ashley and Ava stepped back to allow Olivia the view she was so enjoying of her wife.
"Morning mom. Your night with ma go okay?" Ava asked.
"Morning my darling daughter. Yes, we had a very good night together." She answered, trying not to blush as she thought back on the love they had made.
"Ewe, mom, could you not think of ma naked before we eat." Rafe said with a smile. Enjoying the rare blush that now completely covered his moms face and neck.
"Rafael. I was thinking no such…"
"Oh, don't even try to deny it Spencer. We all know exactly what you were thinking about just now." Doris told her, raising an eyebrow.
"Oh whatever. I'm going back to my wife and my muffin, you four can harass each other for a while." She kissed, Doris's cheek, and hugged Ashley, before kissing both of her children. "I'll see you two at work in an hour." She said as a statement, raising a brow at them both before turning to Ashley. "And, if you have some time later, I would like to speak with you about something. Eleven o'clock in my office okay?"
"Um, sure. I don't have anything else going on until my class this afternoon." Ashley replied, a little nervously since she had no clue what Olivia would want to talk to her about.
"Great, I'll see ya then." She smiled as she turned on her heal and headed back to her table, kissing Natalia on the cheek as she retook her seat.
Natalia smiled as she turned to face her wife. "Everything okay? I didn't even notice Doris sitting there."
"Everything in fine. Our esteemed mayor was just table watching with your friend over there." She said, motioning to Blake who had returned to leaning on the counter in front of Doris. "I really need to do lunch with her soon. It would appear by the looks of things that she might have a new love interest."
"You really think there's something going on between her and Blake?"
"I don't know, but with her breaking up with Jamanda, and the way those two flirt every time they are so much as in the same room, I believe if there isn't, there will be soon."
"Well, then you really do need to have lunch with her, and perhaps I need to make some time to spend with Blake as well. I haven't really talked with her much since everything happened with Frank." A look of sadness and regret crossed her features as she said his name.
"Hey," Olivia said, lifting her chin with her index finger. "Stop, no more beating yourself up over the past, we're here now, I'm fine and he is going to prison for a very long time." She stated softly, ending her small lecture with a quick peck to her lips. "I'm not sure when either of us will find the time, however. We have Frank's sentencing coming up, and, Mr. Milson called this morning, they are ahead of schedule in St. Louis and he thinks they will be done in the next week. I'm going to ask Josh to go down and check out the progress, but, if he thinks they really will be done soon, we need to get staffed and plan the grand opening."
"Wow. I can't believe we will be opening our third hotel soon. We are very lucky the sentencing trial for Frank got pushed back until the fifteenth."
"I wouldn't say lucky, I would much rather be done with all of that, but yes, it gave us time to deal with Ava's apartment and you mom and sister popping up. I wish we knew what Frank's lawyer was up to and how in the hell he got the judge to agree to push back sentencing."
"You haven't heard from Doris or Mel about that?"
"No, they both said it was pretty common for the sentencing trial to get pushed back, especially if Frank's lawyer is trying to find a way to push for miss-trial or even cut deal. It's late in the game for that, if they wanted a deal it should have been done before the trial, but Doris said they could still try."
"Let's hope it doesn't happen."
"It won't, Doris and Mel will make certain of it." She tucked a strand of hair behind Natalia's ear and kissed her lightly. "Let's not think about it. We have five days before sentencing, let's enjoy lunch with your family," she nodded her head towards the two women sat across from them, "and then I think we should talk to Ashley about helping plan the opening in St. Louis, I think she will be good at it, especially with Greg's help."
"You're right, we have much more important things to focus on then Frank Cooper." She turned from her wife to look at her mother and sister. "I'm sorry, we got sidetracked. What were you asking mama?"
"It's okay mija. I know this is a hard time for you and your family. I wish I could have been here for you, all of you, when all of this was happening. I'm afraid I still don't know exactly what happened, as your father wouldn't allow for me to watch the trial." Clara said, true regret lacing her words.
"It's okay mama. I know you would have been here to support us had you known what was going on."
"Yes, I would have." She said with conviction. "I should have been here for the past two decades."
"Let's not dwell on things we cannot change mama. All we can do is move forward, and that's what I would like to do. Our lives are a little crazy right now, but I can promise you that I will make time to spend with you so we can start rebuilding our relationship."
Clara reached for her eldest daughters hand across the table. "Thank you mija. If there is anything I can do, just say the word."
"Yeah, me too. I've planned a party or two in my day, for my office and personal, maybe I could help this Ashley girl with that." Isabel said.
Natalia looked to Olivia, the question of if that was okay clear in her eyes. "What do you think querida?"
"Uh, sure. If you want to sit in on my meeting with Ashley later, we can discuss what Natalia and I would like and see if the two of you and Greg think you can pull it off." She looked back at her love. "I really do need to go though. I need to call Josh about going down there to see what he thinks about opening in the next week or two, and we need to start calling the applicants. Maybe head over there later this week or early next week so we can do some interviews and get staffed. I would like to be open by the end of the month."
"That would be nice. Another weight off our shoulders." Natalia agreed. "Why don't you go back to the office and call Josh and meet with Ashley. If Josh agrees that the hotel is about ready, we can look into doing the grand opening party on the," she pulled up her calendar on her phone to check the dates, "twenty-sixth or the second of April. That would give us two to three weeks to get staffed and plan the opening."
"Sounds good sweetheart. Enjoy some time with your mom and sister. Don't worry about coming in today. Ava, Rafe, and I can handle everything. I'll let you know what Josh says." She turned her attention to her sister-in-law. "If you could meet me in my office around eleven we can discuss the opening."
"Sure, I'll be there." Isabel answered.
"Okay. It was nice seeing you again Mrs. Rivera." She picked up her purse and stood from the table, leaning down to kiss her wife chastely. "I'll see you later. I love you."
"I love you too. Please don't stress yourself too much or try to tackle more than you can handle. You're still supposed to be taking it easy."
"I won't I promise. Rafe and Ava will make certain of it." She said with a smile, swooping down for one more kiss, a kiss meant to give her wife strength for the time she would be spending alone with her mother once Isabel left, before turning on her heal and sweeping from the building, Rafe and Ava noticing and quickly bidding Doris and Ashley goodbye and following their mother to work.
