At an unnamed cliff in Kanto

"Huurgh!"

Ash grabbed a rock sticking out of the side of a cliff. There is still a good 20 feet or so more to go until he reaches the top. Normally, this would be an unchallenging feat for someone like Ash. Unfortunately, even seasoned rock climbers will have trouble when they are pulling a 75 kg pack of dead weight with them. Which happens to be exactly what Ash is doing. Ash looked down and tugged a rope attached to his torso. Several meters down, there is a sleeping Goh tied to the rope.

According to Chloe, Goh was cramming all his missing schoolwork all of last night, so he had no sleep. To make matters worse, instead of packing camping gear, Goh somehow packed a parachute by accident, forcing Ash to carry two people's worth of camping gear. And as fate would have it, the Pokemon-obsessed freak passed out at the beginning of the hike. Ash sighed and soldiered on, finally making it on to the top of the cliff. The sun is starting to set, so Ash decided to set up camp for the night. With incredible skill, he set his tent up and got a campfire starting up. He then walked over to the still sleeping Goh and sat him up. Ash patted Goh on the head a few times, saying "Come on Goh. We need to make some dinner."

Goh merely muttered "5 more minutes, Chloe."

Ash scratched his chin, and suddenly a lightbulb lit up near his head. He lifted his hand, and delivered a hard slap across Goh's cheek.

Goh's bloodshot eyes jolted open, "AAHH! I'll get right to work, just stop pestering me… zzzzzz" he waved his arms frantically, somehow opening the parachute he accidentally packed, and promptly fell asleep again. Ash facepalmed and decided to just leave his partner be.

Ash sat in front of the crackling fire, with a pot bubbling right over it. He ladled some stew into a bowl for himself, and another for Goh if he wakes up. Ash returned to the fire and continue to stir the pot, until suddenly a strong wind came by.

Goh's parachute was caught in the wind, causing the dozing researcher to be sent flying into the sky. Ash cried out, and grabbed the rope just before Goh could fly off. Ash wrapped the rope around one of his arms, and struggled to keep his footing while Goh drifted around like a kite, still completely oblivious to what's going on. Suddenly, Ash got an idea. He inched towards an extra tent spike laying around, grabbed it, and used it to nail the rope to the ground, securing Goh. Ash wiped the sweat off his forehead, and watched in amusement at the sight of his friend suspended in the wind. He put the campfire out, and went into his tent to sleep for the night.

The Next Morning

Ash yawned groggily and climbed out of his tent. He looked around, and much to his chagrin, Goh was still drifting in the air, and somehow still fast asleep. Ash rubbed his temples, and then tugged the rope. It was still taunt, meaning the wind has yet to die down. Ash thought for a moment, and decided the best thing to do was to just cut the parachute loose. He sucked in his breath, and started climbing towards Goh using the rope. But unbeknownst to Ash, the additional weight of himself was too much for the tent spike holding the rope in place to handle, and it snapped off, sending both Ash and Goh flying off into the mountainside.

"AAAAAHHHH!" Ash screamed as he desperately clung on for dear life. So loud, he screamed that he managed to wake up Goh. The dark skinned boy looked around, and quickly realized what's going on, started screaming too.

"AAAAHHH! WHERE AM I?!" Goh screamed, kicking around wildly, kicking Ash a few times in the face. "Ow! Stop it! Goh! Calm down!" Ash cried, but the kicks keep on coming. Getting frustrated, Ash tried to find a way to calm Goh down. He rummaged in his pockets and fished out a spare Pokeball, enlarged it, and hurled it with all his strength at Goh.

CRACK!

The ball hit Goh dead on the forehead, knocking him out, finally stopping the kicking. Ash breathed a sigh of relief. This relief is immediately replaced with panic, as the wind died down, causing the two to start plummeting towards the ground. Luckily, they ended up landing on a ledge and came out with just a few bruises, as opposed to falling 300 feet and turning into a bloody puddle at the bottom of the cliff.

Ash groaned and rubbed his head. He stood up, dusted himself off, and looked around. To his surprise, they landed back at their campsite. "Well that's convenient." he remarked. Ash then headed over and packed up all of his camping gear.

Goh yawned and stretched, finally waking up. He waved Ash good morning, and said "Hey Ash! I just had the craziest dream ever! I was flying through the sky like a Pidgey, and the thing is, you were there, attached to me by a rope! Then you threw a Pokeball at me… and I don't remember the rest."

Ash chuckled "Oh really? You did?"

"Yeah! And…" Goh then noticed the parachute hanging out. "Hey, what am I doing wearing a parachute? The last thing I remember before going to sleep was the car ride to this mountain and… oh wait."

"Yeah!" Ash said, frustrated. "I had to carry your sleeping body all the way up this cliff!"

"Sorry." Goh said as he stuffed the parachute back into its backpack. "So what now?"

Ash heaved the camping gear onto his back. "We climb back down, I suppose. And hopefully I won't have to carry you all the way down."

"Nah, I'm awake now! I feel like I can even carry you down the cliff!" Goh said excitedly.

Suddenly, a rock fell from the cliffside, heading straight for Goh's head! Nope, turns out it was just some leaves, and they landed harmlessly on Goh's head.

Suddenly, an actual rock falls down and hits Ash squarely on the top of his head, with an audible crack! Ash stumbled around for a few seconds, before falling on his face, completely unconscious.

"Ash? Ash?!" Goh ran over to Ash to check on him. The raven haired trainer is completely unmoving, except for occasional twitching. Goh turned Ash and saw that Ash's eyes had rolled up his head. He shook Ash a few times, but got no response. Goh panicked for a few seconds, then remembered the rope tied to his torso. "Oh yeah!"

30 minutes later

"Careful… and there we go."

Goh placed his foot on a secure rock sticking out of the cliffside, and then wiped some sweat from his forehead. There is still a good 50-60 feet or so before he reaches the bottom. Unfortunately, carrying a 80 kg weight doesn't make Goh's job any easier, as the dark skinned researcher looked down, his unconscious partner Ash dangled several meters below. This is going to be a long trip home.
