BRB
Sirius's POV
The morning brought more explosions and banging from outside.
I opened my eye at a particularly canon-like blast. Remus and I were still on the ground, Moony still asleep with his head pulling onto the couch.
He looked angelic, much like he had the morning after his first moon here. A ray of dull sunlight peaked through the thick black curtains, making his tanned skin glow.
BOOM!
I jumped slightly, the previous night rushing back to me.
I began to shake.
Their here for you. If you hadn't involved Remus or Sabine, if you had protected Harry, you wouldn't be in this mess. This is all your-
Warm arms wrapped around me, I looked up to see Remus, still sleeping, hugging me from behind. Even asleep, he'd keep me safe.
I sighed, couldn't I just stay here, sitting on the floor with my re-instanced boyfriend, ignoring the world around us.
BANG!
No, that was a no. Hauling myself carefully out of Remus's arms ( the man needed his sleep) and looked around.
Dust had started to fall in clouds from the ceiling about an hour into the raid, now covering everything in sight.
Wrinkling my nose, I crept over to Moony and grabbed his wand, casting a quick cleaning charm and heading into the kitchen.
Merlin, I need to get me a wand. I thought absently, feeling the foreign yet warm pulse of magic in the wood.
Well obviously not now you prat, your not going anywhere!
I grumbled a bit as I started whisking some eggs, it being the only real breakfast food I could make that didn't come out of a box.
A radio sat on the corner of the counter, Sabine often putting on muggle music as she cooked(and because she was the main one who cooked, she usually got to pick).
Not that we made her, Sabine had flat out refused to eat anything I made ever again, calling it a cyber attack on her taste buds.
So naturally, the stubborn seer had insisted on cooking most days, with the occasional break from Remus.
I sighed again. Despite warning myself not to, I'd grown to like and even care about Sabine and little Athena.
Somehow the adventure obsessed girl and the snarky, stubborn teen had earned a place in our lives.
And now they were good knows where.
Were they safe? Had aurors found them? Had Dumbledore found them?
I turned the radio on, some muggle pop star singing "How Will I Know?", I remember it because Lily loved Whitney Houston and would play her all the time.
Shaking my head, I hummed along to the melody as the eggs went into the pan, toast went into the toaster (another muggle invention Sabine had snuck in, somehow?), and cheese began to melt.
Just as I was plating the food, Remus appeared in the door frame, his own frame being so tall he had to duck his head a bit.
"Morning." He mumbled, voice gravely from sleep.
I smiled, I had always liked morning Moony, even if he was a bit grumpy.
"Good morning love." I hummed back, setting the last of the scrambled eggs (almost) perfectly on the plate.
Remus expected the food, siting down at the table and placing a sweet kiss on my cheek.
I smirked, worming my way under his chin and kissing all the skin I could find.
Remus chuckled and smiled down at me.
"Cheeky, aren't we today pads?"
"If we're going to be dragged out of here kicking and screaming by aurors, I want to make the most of it."
That sobered the room, Moony's arms tightened around me as he dropped his own kisses against my hairline.
"Your not-"
"I know. It's not me I'm worried about."
"Harry?" He asked, running thin patient fingers through my tangled locks.
"Sabine and Harry, Athena too. I just... I hope their okay." I managed, glancing down at the food on the counter.
"The will be. Sabine's been hiding for a long time, she knows what she's doing."
I fiddled a loose thread on my shirt, an idea I'd been mulling over on the tip of my tongue.
"About that, I wanted to ask you something."
"Yea?" Remus hummed, resting his head atop of mine.
"When this is all over, when my name is cleared-"
"And it will be Sirius, I know it will." Remus added.
"Yea, but when that happens, I want to keep them in our lives. Athena is like Harry's sister and Sabine's one of the only adults he has in his life. And we're..."
I couldn't really describe what Sabine was for us. She was part of our third. Part of our parenting.
Remus looked neutral as he chewed on his eggs, doing that thing were he'd smush them in between the toast. After he swallowed, he spoke.
"I agree, wholeheartedly. But..."
He tailed off. I gulped.
"We can't keep staying here, the aurors know we're here, it's not safe." He said sternly, studying me over the lip of his mug.
I looked out the tinted window at the street, 6 men and women in dark ministry robes were stationed outside.
"So we leave?" I asked dejectedly.
"So we leave." He replied.
