Drakken's hands lay still atop Shego's thighs. He looked almost lost in thought, to her view from her very deliberate position above him where they were joined in intimacy. He was watching her movements, but his gaze was unfocused, and it had been awhile since he'd made a sound.

It was a pattern Shego had been noticing for...awhile, though never for so many minutes in succession as this time. She frowned slightly as fears and insecurities began swimming through her head, and she decided abruptly to silence such thoughts by giving him a reason to focus on her.

Since...apparently, making love wasn't enough.

She adjusted her position carefully and held her hair up with her hands. She swayed her body very purposefully as she never faltered in the rhythm of their union. She moaned pointedly, but it did little to attract his attention until she breathed his name.

That earned a small, tired smile. But nothing more. His gaze became unfocused again.

The insecurities flooded her mind with an intensity she'd not expected, and as tears filled her eyes she hurriedly dismounted him, flopping on the bed next to him and facing away.

"Shego?" he asked in immediate concern as she pulled the blanket up to her shoulders. "What...? What happened?"

Concern and confusion were in his eyes as he leaned over her to see her face, his brushing back of her hair revealing her tears.

"Are you all right? Do you need the bucket?"

Shego bit her lip at the reminder of the morning sickness that seemed ever present, except of course, right then when she had coaxed him into bed with her. And then she felt another wave of sadness as she realized it had been coaxing.

"Are you...are you tired of me?" she blurted out, closing her eyes in fear of the answer.

"What?" Drakken asked.

"You..." Shego hesitated, but in a moment all of the fear began tumbling out. "You just haven't been very into it lately. No matter what I do..."

There was a pause, and then she heard Drakken sigh. She couldn't quite place the tone in his voice.

"Shego..." He crawled halfway over her to flop heavily on the mattress to face her. "I could never tire of you... I'm just...tired."

Shego blinked at him uncertainly.

"Why?"

"Well, after repairing the fire damage, dealing with Mother and the New Year... Trying to figure out what we're going to do now, with the baby coming..."

Shego blinked at him sadly, unconvinced.

"And regarding this..." He paused and gestured to their current state as he shuffled under the blanket with her and then smirked. "You do realize that having me do this three and four times a day is...more exercise than I've done in my entire adult life."

Shego grimaced at him, not buying the excuse.

"Make no mistake, Shego," he said, moving nearer to her and stroking her cheek with his fingers, "I love making up for four years of lost time... It's...just a lot of making up, very fast. I do have limits. Unfortunately..."

His loving words and kind smile started to pull Shego back from the fears she'd been slipping into, along with more murmured after. And after several minutes, the gentleness of his fingers on her cheek and the soft kisses he placed over her face served to melt the rest of her insecurities. As she welcomed him back to her arms she decided to chalk her concerns up to pregnancy hormones. She shouldn't give time to any fears... After all, they had four years to catch up on.
