Happy Birthday to the Universe's Number One Idol Nico Nico Ni~! ^w^

Road Trip Drive

On a long drive on the couple's long-awaited road trip for their anniversary, Maki rather listen to classical music while Nico wants to listen to pop songs, the latest idol music. NicoMaki being NicoMaki gets into a slight argument over it. And Nico comes up with an ingenious idea.

"Okay, okay, how about this?"

"No."

"You haven't even heard it yet."

"… I know you."

Nico smirks. "Give me a chance then, you know you like me and my ideas, Makki~"

Maki fake coughs as she stops at a traffic light and grunts for Nico to go on.

Nico beams and Maki tries to not let how much she adores that smile affects her decision-making for the next few lines Nico is going to throw at her.

"So! We can trade fairly – when you drive, we can turn on idol songs. And when I drive, you can turn on the classical pianos. How's that?" Nico finishes with a big smile and clasps both hands together.

"How's that any safe? You will fall asleep when you drive like that." Maki retorts.

"That's the whole point."

Maki looks at Nico exasperated as she makes a turn on the road.

Nico laughs unfazed. "Not the falling asleep part. I don't intend to fall asleep while driving, honey. The whole point is that you will be talking to me and talking about the music or something. That keeps both of us awake. How's that?"

Maki grimaced as the idea seems sound. "I guess… We could give it a shot."

.

Maki regrets it as she voluntarily changes the classical music to the idol channel on the radio. "You're horrible."

"Huh? What?" Nico and her horrible acting veer its face at Maki as Nico pretends to just wake up from a sleepy state while they were going slower on a long road.

"You can have your idol songs. Don't fall asleep while driving." Maki crosses her arms, pouting.

Nico was going to be smug about her win, but the pout had many effects on the Universe's Number One Idol. Nico pulls up at the side, turning to put a hand over Maki's.

"Don't."

"Aww, come on, Maki… You know I'm just messing with you." Nico gives Maki her puppy-dog eyes.

"This isn't a situation to mess with." Maki huffs.

"The roads are literally empty." Nico reasoned; not a good excuse she knows but still!

"You still don't think you are in the wrong." Maki states pointedly.

"I-" That was half true. "I'm sorry. I promise I won't do it again?"

"Is that a question?" Maki cranes her head further away from Nico, looking out into the plains.

"No. Not a question. I promise not to do it again. I just…wanted you to hear some idol music too…" Nico's voice trails off and Maki turns to look.

Maki sighs. "It's not like I don't. I hear it when you sing them."

Nico smiles but shakes her head. "You need exposure to the new ones too. Not just from the Universe's Number One Idol, Nico-ni!"

"I do? I thought Nico-chan's was all I need." Maki twirls her hair as Nico's face grew hot.

"Yeah, you're right. Nico's is all you need." Nico hits off on the radio and pulls out her latest album to insert into the CD slot – soon enough, Nico's singing filled their car.

"Which song do you like from the new album?" Nico bats her pretty eyes at Maki.

Maki rolls her eyes. "Take a guess."

"Hmm… It's got to be…"

And so, the ride went on happier with Maki and Nico chatting about Nico's singing and songs and music and how Maki composing for Nico make it a million times better than the rest.

I mean, I gotta agree with Maki here XD If you already know the best, why listen to some other random ones? XD

I'm joking though! OuO It's good to have exposure and checking out new and awesome songs to add to the pool of never-ending music folder! ^w^ Nico here agrees with me :3
