Okay so this is all after The Captive Kingdom by the way so yeah.
Chapter 4:
Imogen's POV
My eyes opened to see Jaron's head laying on my chest. I started ruffling his hair, it's so long and thick. He's still asleep so I got up. I carefully rested his head on a pillow, and got out of bed. I took one more step when Jaron grabbed me, pulling me back in bed. He pecked at my neck, holding my arm that was wrapped around his head. I turned to kiss him since we weren't facing each other. I'm normally shy and quiet, but whenever I'm with Jaron I just want him. I've never loved someone so much or loved before, not since William. I was now sitting on Jarons lap, my arms around his neck.
"I should really get ready." I whispered, pausing the kiss.
"But isn't this more fun?" He teased.
"Mm-hm" I said while he laid back. I looked up, looking into his green eyes. His hand was on my cheek, stroking it gently. He drew me into another kiss and then spoke.
"You're fine Imogen, I should be the one getting up."
"Yes, but I have a meeting with Amarinda." I smirked and he sat up.
We both got ready. He wore a blue suit, with black shoes and his gold crown with Rubies in it. I wore a soft yellow-cream dress, my hair half up in a braid, and tan shoes that were covered by the dress. A knock at the door startled our calm mood.
"Jaron! Come on! We're gonna be late!" Someone yelled, while still pounding on the door.
"AHEM! You will not speak to me like that!" Jaron yelled back, in a joking voice.
"Oh, I'm sorry, was I supposed to make you an: 'I'm so sorry for yelling at you because you are an hour late for something we planned weeks ago' cake before I came to talk to you?" Roden, Roden was talking.
"Yeah, I think you were. Now be frickin patient Roden!" I could tell Jaron was losing his temper.
"Why?" He said.
"Because I'm spending time with my fiance, thank you very much!"
I interfered and gave him a look, "Honey it's fine, go." He knew I was right and even though he didn't want to leave, he knew he had too.
"Roden I will come in a minute. Meet me in the Throne Room in ten minutes, got it?" Jaron said.
"Yes your majesty." Roden replied in an annoyed tone.
"Oh, and Roden, can you make a sign that tells people not to come directly to my room and instead send a servant who is respectful?"
"Sure, but only if you can beat me to the Throne Room."
Jaron was now very angry, "Roden stop, NOW! Now go! I will come out when I do!" He hollered. I could hear Roden walk away from the door, silent. Jaron looked at me with defeat.
"I think that was a little harsh." I said, walking towards him.
"Well he deserved it, no one respects me like they should." He said, while holding my waist.
"They're your friends Jaron, they joke with you, just like you do with them. Now what are you going to be late for?" I asked him.
He sighed, "We are planning a trip to the Avenian Shore. Roden, Tobias, Mott, and I are organizing it. It was supposed to be a surprise, but I guess not anymore. The whole group from Farthenwood will be there, it's kinda like a reunion."
"Oh, well, I don't know what you're talking about!" I teased.
His smile appeared, filled with happiness. "I love you" he said sincerely.
"Jaron, I love you, everyday in Farthenwood I loved you. I'm so happy I can say it now." I confessed and gave him a hug, my hands on his chest, my head underneath his.
"I wish I could just stay here, with you, and do nothing more." He frowned.
"But you can't. You have to go, and even if you dismiss yourself I have a meeting." I said and he kissed my forehead.
"As soon as your meeting is over, and mine is as well, I want you and me time. Does that work?" He said as he held my hands.
"We already have 'you and me time' every morning and night." I said, but I think he took it as a complaint.
"Oh." He said, surprised, "okay."
"But it works for me." I chimed in, "Whatever you like." I shyly smiled. He nodded and smiled, even though I knew he was still sad. He opened the door and gestured for me to go first. I walked out and we went our separate ways.
The meeting with Amarinda was not a real meeting. In fact, it was just an excuse to get me to talk about Jaron.
"Amarinda stop! Please stop asking me questions!" I kinda yelled. She had been questioning me about everything for an hour.
"But Imogen! Come on, I tell you everything about Tobias!" Amarinda whined. Tobias and her got married about four months ago.
"Yeah, but I didn't ask you to, you just do!" I yelled again. Amarinda had been getting on my nerves for a while now, and it was just straight up annoying.
She pouted, "Fine, then I'm not talking to you!" She smirked. She's my best friend, so she thought she could do that against me.
"Amarinda! Will you just get off my back?! You are making me so angry and annoyed and you never stop when I tell you to!"
"Well excuse me, I'm not the one who is always and only with the love of my life!" She yelled back, and stood up like I was.
"At least I pay attention to the love of my life! You never even talk to Tobias anymore, don't you think he's hurt?" I shouted.
"I-I...I...that's not the point!" She stuttered, getting red fast.
"Are-are you guys having problems?" I was now concerned.
"How did the topic get to me?" She complained.
"It got to you because you need help!" I stammered and walked over to her.
"I don't want to talk to you, I won't!" She insisted.
"You need to talk, and I'm the best person to talk to. Amarinda I'm worried, what's happened with you and Tobias?" I was holding her now as she burst into tears.
"I-I wanted to get pregnant so badly, but Tobias didn't want me to!" She paused to cry, "He finally gave in so we tried! It didn't work! So we tried again, but the same thing happened!" She was balling now, cry-screaming. "And I blew up at Tobias and now it feels like we're separated and I feel so bad!"
I handed her a tissue, "Here, clear your eyes, you need to calm down. You've been underneath all this pressure and it was bubbling inside of you. Thank you for telling me Amarinda." I said and she nodded. "You should go and talk to Tobias. He needs you, and you need him." I said and gave her a big hug of encouragement. She left, tired and slow. I have never seen her so angry or mad before. Since Jaron's meeting wasn't over I decided to go to the library and read for a while.
*Sorry I haven't updated in a while. Christmas and New year, everything was just so busy! Keep in mind that this chapter is after The Captive Kingdom takes place. I won't put in memories of the events yet, but I will in a few chapters. When The Shattered Castle comes out next fall I will go back and edit these chapters by the way. Thank you so much and I really hope you like my stories. I'm thinking of writing another story (not about this series) and I'll keep you posted on that. Have a great day, night, week, weekend, etc. Take care!*
