Kujou Sara: Honor Bound
Inazuma was the land of eternity and known for the intense codes of honor and structure that had dictated the groups that made the ruling class under the goddess and it was to be for the sake of the people and the goddess that they would do their best for the land.
If there was anyone who would betray the land it was not just the person who would be dragged through the mud but the entire group they had affiliated with, their family, their loved ones, and even for strong cases generations of time had to pass before the family was acknowledged in the same way again.
Outsiders did not know how it all worked and there was little for them to know as few wanted to come in before the Sankoku decree and fewer still after it left with the same people doing the same thing day to day and with no change but the pride in their work and their time as the timeless nation. Being lied to, being deceived did not matter to what occurred because it was well known that the best laid plans would go awry and good intention would be used to bad ends.
After the issues of her clan and the Fatui working together to weaken the nation, had caused her to almost gag on her own bile at times, her family the group that had brought her forward and for she had shared the name from an orphan to a general had been dishonored and there was nothing that she could do about it. For once it had gone out the people would pass judgment on her and it was swift.
No less then a week had passed before people moved away from working with the clan even if they still had considerable power, it was something in group where they had been treated like lepers, like the people no one wanted to be with, and unfortunate as she tried to keep the peace, she had found that such dishonor was something everyone had an opinion on and all of it was insulting.
She had worked hard, and gotten her vision, worked her tail off sharpening her skills and after finding out everything had been knocked out by some of the people that her clan had planned with making them somewhat responsible for all the death and damage and for the fake delusions that had been coming around stirring the pot and killing the men of the opposing army in terrible ways.
What had been left with her after the whole affair was questions, something that Ei, her goddess and Yae had no answers for. There had been a decree that she had been part of the clan to bring the Fatui in and been part of the driving force of stopping them and of the espionage behind the enforcement of the decree, but she could look up as it was being told and almost hear the icy tone of her goddess mocking her for she deserved it.
Now she had to do as much as she could, do everything that would take some of the sting of that with the people. Everywhere she went the eyes would follow her and there was not a thing that could be done as they had been informed as well. The greatest parts of the clan that had worked with the Fatui would be imprisoned and their own personal titles would be removed and that any open positions would be filled at a later date.
How the men would still follow her was going to be a challenge and while some had suspicion many would still follow orders. When it came to preparing for battle there was always a glance as they had polished their weapons or practiced their charges that she would be judged as much on her merit as the rest of the soldiers on the field and those eyes on her made her feel uneasy. It was not based on skill she was no slouch on the field and while tactically she was not as strong as Kokomi there had been still a battle there because her movements on the field when the battle begun was difficult to play against.
All of it had weighed on her mind and there was just more that added to it and sometimes she wished she could just step on the field and deal with it herself. It wasn't even a habit known to the soldiers but anything that did not cause a full battle could be handled by her and she was happily to step on that field with all the people wanting to kill her and for the flag she brought in and feel relaxed.
When she could step on those fields whether they be sand water or grass and feel the simplicity in the charge in the air, no stories, no wishes, no problems, just her, them, and a bunch of body bags that had to be filled for her flag to be flying on the field. She could let loose and have some fun, or as much as one could on such things, the bloodshed of many would be horrific if it had been her own men. Not knowing who was being thrown against her and it was going to be something she could count on where there had been little of actual face but instead, were masks, and glowing grilles or gems and she had no problem snuffing those lights out until they ran or perished.
One such battle was going to be later that day and as she was informed her own lieutenants who had been suspicious of the next move waited for the order only for his superior to walk on by. Something that had not been done but by the number of forces it was clear this was a herself thing. Rare to be right behind her when she received orders, but one to be there ever since the dishonor had been known, she thought, she would just wave it off, and tell the men to keep practicing and she would handle it herself, no need to mobilize so many people when one would do it.
It was something of a suspicion to the officers under her command and they had upon reading the map. The order that she had left behind to watch as their boss would single handed walk into a skirmish of a couple hundred warriors and defeat the numbers that would be almost impossible for any one of them to fathom. She walked off the face of something much colder had been there and so being confused one on of the points to the small eddies and islands they would fight the Fatui had come in a crown big enough that had been awe inspiring if it was so depressing as a soldier from the opposing army.
If anything had happened they could see if she was up to her word and who was they thought she once was or if she was working with the Fatui, and one battle doing this would definitely prove it either way, for if she just gave them order it was clear to the small group of officers that there was still some lines of communications between them. What had been interesting was at the far end of the land there was a single flag of Kokomi's army and the scout team had been looking through binoculars like them watching the battle between them for it must had gotten out she was fighting alone.
Her geta splashed lightly in the water. One of the Fatui officers came forward and began the conversation.
"You come alone, men, she desires to be a sacrifice at the foot of her goddess, this should be an easy battle today!" He remarked laughing before she pulled up her flag and with drew her bow.
"I come alone, because only one is what is needed, why do the hands of many need to be dirtied when a single soul can do the job of pushing back a single force so low in skill."
"You come at us alone, and you think you can claim this field?"
"The field is mine already as part of the great goddess army for the land of eternity, I find I am just removing trespassers who had gotten too big for their lot in life."
The tome she had said it echoed where all the Inazumans around them were shocked at her tone and disrespect.
"You cannot get your family honor back, you should have joined us.." He remarked before turning back arms spread to this forces.
An arrow flew through the air and had sunk in the back of the head of the enemy officer before screaming to the skies.
"At your deaths! My name will be restored!"
With that call that echoed off of rocks and sand, the forces charged her position putting her arrow in gaps in armor and helmets while she could bounce around. Moving with the flow and letting the forces try and corner her but hitting each other, one against so many had the weakness of dexterity of force and as she said it to her men, she would use it making the army work to her own need. .
Her officers stood on the peak and could see her effort before they had begun packing up. It was clear she was who they thought she was and just had the unfortunate luck of an idiotic family. What was left was to head down and while the army was not behind them they were all trained warriors and they would make sure their general knew she had the support of her men again. Blood of many had been shed already but the familiar war cries of her officers had been echoing from her side of the field.
Despite taking half of the army down and their arrow riddled corpses filling the field. Many pikes had been pointed forward in one endless charge and knowing her men were there. Figuring, they had to see the start she craned her neck to see the glitter from the top of the stone spire gone, noting as it had to be some looking glasses wondering at her own allegiance.
No one could see it but that moment had been enough to see her men believe in her again, was enough to make her smile before fighting with renewed vigor. Firing off arrows to get the charge a lane to her had made the knit group act like the soldiers they had once had been.
"For the goddess!"
"FOR THE GODDESS"
"Get this trash off my beach."
A war cry had been heard that tried to shake the heavens and had been easily enough with the help with the rank and file treasure hunters and Fatui remaining.
Celebrations had been had and apologies offered as they made their way to the capital city wanting to make sure that their general who would go it alone would do all she could for the banner and they would do the same for her.
She had not been one to show emotion but she was proud of her men realizing the situations and being behind her, and upon their next meetings with the squads they would make sure the story of the battle would get it and she would be known for all that she did, but for now after the battle had been done there was a hot spring ready for them and she was ready to sit back and relax for tomorrow meant they had training and a revived force to deal with. The eyes could keep watching and she found it needed to show them who was the best of the clan, and she would intend to. Honor bound or no, it was her life and her morals to dictate what she did.
