Learning About Seireijutsu
Instead of being in the interrogation chair with his wrists bound to the seat that is bolted to the floor, as protocol dictates, he had somehow "magically" slipped from his binds and the room was a lot brighter, with the flickering bulb above changed to a halogen double light (the ones you see lining the ceilings of schools or supermarkets), and there was a chalk board behind the now suspiciously missing chair that should be bolted to the cement floor.
"What I use is Spirit Artes, or in Japanese, Seireijutsu (精霊術). There are three tiers of my Spirit Artes. First is Novice Spirit Artes, or Kakyūjutsu (下級術). Tier One is basically weak magic, but it's also spells that are very easy to cast, and even repeatedly if I do some proper chain spells. Next there's Intermediate Spirit Artes, or Chūkyūjutsu (中級術). This is Tier Two and is a boost from Tier One. Proper channeling and an increase of magical output can create more damage than my weaker artes."
Sekai's eyes seem to flicker with a faint glowing. The board itself is detailed with all sorts of information in romaji and kanji lettering. The information splits the three levels of the Spirit Artes in three brackets, with smaller written information, and a sample of each level having a different spirit arte technique naming and its effects. Included in each technique example were small chibitized anime art panels of himself casting these three spells: Rapier (Novice spell; Sekai throwing black light forms of dark magic rapier swords like throwing javelins), Sadistic Combination (Intermediate spell; Sekai unleashing a dual fire/wind attack of a whirlwind laced with wrapped fireball flames), and Harmony Beam (Advance spell; basically a large rainbow helix beam attack with trailing small stars).
"Finally, there's Tier Three known as Advanced Spirit Artes, Jōkyūjutsu (上級術). Think of this level as very powerful magic that can cause great amounts of devastation, but the channeling and concentration is strict and often a few of these tier three spells will have long chanting that can often leave one defenseless to a quick counterattack or a surprise attack by speed-class enemies. And those with no or few chants can be cast but either way, it leaves a bit of a drain on my magical stores."
Sekai looks to his audience.
In the fourth bracket was more information.
"And then we have my Mimic Artes, or Mimikujutsu (ミミック術). This list is rather small because it details techniques that I learn of my foes and utilize them as my own. A couple has been stolen from enemies long since dead. Others like Ichigo's Getsuga Tenshō were learned via really intensive training from the legit source, as well as an understanding of how to perform it perfectly and correctly."
The anime chibi art detail was Sekai performing the Getsuga Tenshō upon an enemy that looked like a crossbreed of a human and some mutant moth/butterfly thing with tentacles (Hōgyoku Fused Aizen Sōsuke).
"Their levels range from novice to advance, and more than often a few of these mimic techniques are considered an imitation of the originals as some would often require a skill or something else that normally I would not possess naturally. Getsuga Tenshō is considered a perfect copy because they use spirit energy as its fueling source of power, and both Ichigo and I can often become a powerful two person army if we team up together."
He looks to Yuzu, as she stood next to Anko. "Although your brother is becoming much more powerful than I, what with his confusing heritage and his ability to give logic the middle finger most of the time..."
At this saying, Yuzu just giggled, finding it both humorous and true.
"I have a question." Anko lowered her hand and she gave Sekai a hard look. "How did you escape your bindings?"
Yuzu smiled. "He's magic, Anko-sensei."
"And I'm more than that, right Yuzu?"
Yuzu nods her head. "Yeah, he's not human."
Behind the one-way mirror, the rest of the ninja listening in to the rather informative speech tensed at the not human part. This was originally an interrogation, but somehow after one question it delved into something else completely different. The ANBU should have intervened the second Sekai freed himself from his chair.
"What do you mean by that?" questions Anko, slowly maneuvering to draw her hidden kunai.
Yuzu gives her sensei her trademarked "look", staying the woman's hand. "Don't even think about attacking my uncle. Sekai would be classified as yōkai. Specifically, he's an elf yōkai who serves as a butler to his vampire master, Remilia Scarlet, when he's not saving the world from supernatural threats that doesn't target Ichi-niichan."
"Yup. I've been alive for four hundred plus years. Grew up a deck hand, then worked as a privateer as an adult, then I became a pirate and made friends with Blackbeard himself, back to privateer in the waning days of the Golden Age of Piracy, was involved in the American Revolutionary War, slain a vampiric dark lord and met a dhampir named Alucard, saw the chaos that was the French Revolution, lived the life of a noble in Victorian-Era London, became a righteous outlaw in the American Frontier, experienced and lived through World War II, secretly killed Adolf Hitler who was a Quincy whilst destroying his Millennium Order and faked his post-death so the world wouldn't learn of the truth, and spent those many years dealing with demons from hell and supernatural threats, quelled a minor undead uprising south the border of Mexico when an idiot disturbed an Aztec grave ruin, among other things, before moving to Gensōkyō and lived with my darling master."
What a mouthful.
And that was only the scratch of the surface of his mysterious backgrounds and origins. Sekai's friends and allies in Gensōkyō only knew a portion of his history that involved his first meeting with Remilia Scarlet and how he eventually became her butler many years later. And he often kept most details of his life in the dark, not talking often of his origins. However, when it came to good stories, Sekai would always talk about things that he's been involved with in his four hundred years of living.
Behind the one-way mirror, Kon was perched on Kakashi's shoulder.
"Well, that is all true. Sekai is indeed a yōkai. He never talks about his origins that much. But there are a few that he does detail, such as his days when he was a pirate, or when he befriended a dhampir, and of course his Volcanic Pistol he carries, which was a memento from a friend that died protecting him during his days as an outlaw slash bounty hunter in the American Frontier. He is one of the most interesting men in the world."
There was a knock on the one-way mirror.
"So, can I go back home now? And yes, I'm not stupid; I know a one-way mirror when I see it."
"Uncle Sekai, you'll have to wait until they say you can leave," Yuzu tells the elf yōkai. "They now believe you're dangerous since you're a yōkai."
"And those bijū things that once ravaged this world are more dangerous than I, Yuzu. I'm only dangerous if my cherished ones are threatened."
"Then what about those two women that was in the home when Naruto showed up?" Anko demanded.
"My friends," he says with no change of expression. "I'm in another location entirely and they missed me, so they came to visit. Besides, Ichigo didn't mind them. He's met my friend Yukari once before when he was a teenager."
"Were they demons, too?" the voice of the Hokage filtered into the room.
And now Sekai's facial expression turns to annoyance and a bit of anger. "I wouldn't call them that. They're yōkai. Demons are monsters that want to end the existence of all living things. Yukari is a thousand some years old, while Remilia is my master and actually a vampire yōkai."
Yōkai translates to demon, in actuality, but Sekai often used the two terms in separate meanings.
"Sekai and Remilia were a cute couple when they were making loving gestures with one another," comments Yuzu.
"Although I'm pretty sure he once said he had a crush on the maid Izayoi Sakuya," Kon added his thoughts. "Then again, Sekai often gets attracted by multiple girls."
"Not my fault I'm eternally beautiful and youthful," Sekai retorts with a flick of his hair.
Sekai's phone rings in the room, causing the ninja to tense. Sekai digs into his pocket that was cleaned out by the shinobi when he was brought into T&I, and he pulls out his iPhone.
"I thought we made sure he had no contraband on him," Anko exclaims in shock, again reaching for a kunai.
"It's magic," Yuzu calmly explains.
That and she doubt they could take away something that uncle personally warded with his runes.
With a hit of the answer button on the screen, he lifts it to his head.
"Yeah? What is it, Yukari?"
Oh yeah, after Naruto was finished freaking out and the ANBU showed up hearing the future Hokage's screaming, Yukari decided to cut the visit short and said her goodbyes before she left via a gap, taking Remilia with her (but not after Remilia gave Sekai a copy of one of her stronger Spell Cards).
Sekai's face gained a serious look, silently listening to Yukari telling him of something happening back in Gensōkyō.
"What the fuck is Seiga thinking trying to destroy the Hakurei Barrier?"
Yuzu looks on in concern.
"Yeah. Open a gap for me. I'll go in and help Ran combat the wicked hermit."
He disconnects from the call and pockets it, before snapping his fingers. In bursts of magic, his physical items appear in wisps and he quickly pockets them all, also banishing the chalk board and the replacement lights, just as a portal of darkness opens to the right of the inhabitants of the room. The portal in question has multiple eyes peering from its darkness, and the ends of the portal were pinched off by red ribbons.
"Sekai? Is something wrong?" questions Yuzu, voice full of concern for her uncle.
"Kaku Seiga just converted Reimu into a Jiang Shi, and is dragging a lot of players into a multi-battle confrontation. She's trying to destroy the powerful barriers that surround Gensōkyō. I need to get going, Yuzu. If the Hakurei Barrier shatters, the immense explosion of spiritual energy released will alert Soul Society and the last thing we need is the Shinigami thinking the yōkai need to be exterminated in genocide for just existing."
Without another word, Sekai vanished through the gap, and it seals up just as quickly as it appeared.
"What the hell is going on?" Tsunade shouted, finding all of this insanity too much to bear.
Yuzu looks to the audience she knew was behind the one-way mirror. "Sometimes, there are things that can never be explained. I can tell you the sukima you just saw is not chakra-made. And would you believe me if I told you Sekai doesn't manipulate chakra?"
Once she told Ichigo where Sekai went, he'd likely worry at first, before relaxing in the knowledge that whatever was going on, would be taken care of in no time. And of course, Yuzu would not mind if one day uncle Sekai would take her to visit Gensōkyō. She wanted to see where Sekai lived and worked as a butler.
For the Hokage and her ninja, the bizarre nature of the uncle of the Kurosaki siblings just got even crazier.
"I want to know one thing, Kurosaki Yuzu: is that man a threat to my village?" Tsunade demanded the question.
"If you harm me, Ichigo, my sister Karin, or anyone he considers his cherished ones, he'll be your worst nightmare come to life," Yuzu cryptically stated. "When I was dragged into Hell, Sekai immediately dove without hesitation into Hell after Ichigo, Rukia, Renji, and Uryū just to rescue me from the Sinners."
Tsunade roughly exhales, massaging her temples to ward away an oncoming headache.
"We should let Ichigo know about this," Kon told Yuzu.
Yuzu glances to Anko, who was still tightly gripping her kunai.
"Just go," the woman said, slowly sheathing her weapon away.
Yuzu left the interrogation room, and once collecting Kon from Kakashi, left the T&I building, leaving behind a group of shinobi and their village leader with unanswered questions and a lot of concerns. The two bijū in the Kurosaki home was bad enough to learn about (and the knowledge that shouldn't be spread being that a ninja village has extra bijū), but this situation with Ishtal Sekai was a whole different scenario altogether.
Near the end, I'm playing into a two-part Touhou doujin called Nisshoku -Joukan- and Nisshoku -Gekan-. The doujin group that created it is Tohonifun, and the artist is Chado.
For those not pivy or have little knowledge to Touhou Project, Seiga Kaku (霍 青娥, Kaku Seiga) is a "wicked" hermit and the superior of Yoshika Miyako. She plays a major role in Ten Desires as the 4th Stage Boss and for being the one who taught the Taoism to Toyosatomimi no Miko.
Even I am fully unclear to Sekai's origin stories in his Touhou Project profile. One of them was written up and published, which was the first meeting of Remilia Scarlet. The yōkai character is four hundred plus years old, the rough birth year being 1687. So, some of the vague descriptions of things Sekai has done have merit and truth if one looks up history. Well... aside the fictional details mixed in.
