A/N: Hello everyone and thank you for not giving up on me or this story as I love it very much. The reason that I took such a long break from writing in general was due to the fact that I had surgery on both hands and was in recovery. Once I was healed, I lost my motivation to be honest, but after reading you guys reviews and how much you wanted me to update, gave me the motivation I needed. I even read a reviewer that said they re-read my story and that meant a lot to me. So, without further ado, I bring you Chapter 17. Please read and review. Until Next Time Enjoy!
Chapter 17
"My name is Rachel Berry sir." Rachel said and Officer Morrison placed her in cuffs.
"Rachel Berry, you are under arrest for the connection of the Murder/Suicide of Finn Hudson and Kurt Hummel." Officer Morrison said.
"What that's impossible! I saw them last week when I took them out for lunch at Subway." Rachel said.
"Rachel Berry, you have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law. You have a right to a lawyer and have said lawyer present at the time of questioning. You stop answering my questions at any time until a lawyer is present. If you want a lawyer and cannot afford one, one will be appointed to you. Do you understand these rights as they have been read to you?" Officer Morrison said.
"Yes." Rachel said.
"With these rights in mind would you like to talk to me today?" Officer Morrison said.
"No, I want a lawyer." Rachel said.
"Very well." Officer Morrison said as he put Rachel in the back of the car.
"Don't worry Heather, I'm going to call the family lawyer now." Antonio said as got on his phone and called the lawyer.
"Tell the lawyer Ms. Berry will be at Lima Police Department until she posts bail." Office Morrison got into his car and took off towards the police station.
~ At the Station in Interrogation Room 3 ~
A lawyer sits next to Rachel and across from them is Detectives Harrison and Cortez.
"Ms. Berry are you a good writer?" Rachel looked to her lawyer who nodded his head.
"Yes, I have been writing on my own songs for years." Rachel said.
"You write letters?" Det. Cortez asked.
"No, I haven't written a letter since I was like 7 and that was too Santa." Rachel said.
"Did Finn and Kurt make you mad, when they outed Santana Lopez?"
"What are you trying to pull here? Ask the better questions!" Rachel's lawyer said.
"Okay, question withdrawn. Ms. Berry, why is Ms. Hudson-Hummel so sure you had something to do with the murder/suicide of your ex-boyfriend and ex-best friend?"
"How did you know I dated Finn or friends with Kurt?" Rachel asked.
"Research. It seems like you had an off and on relationship with Finn until you started dating Santana Lopez. Did she threaten you to be with her?" Det. Harrison asked.
"Santana Lopez doesn't have anything to with this case. One more backward question and this is over, and I will sue you." Rachel's lawyer said.
"We are just getting a backstory is all." Det. Cortez said.
"I don't know why Ms. Hummel would think I have anything to do with this. I cared for them both. Kurt was my best friend; we grew apart when I fell in love with my girlfriend, Santana." Rachel said.
"Describe the last time you saw Finn and Kurt." Det. Cortez said.
"It was last week, on Tuesday around 11:00 am I drove to Finn's house and Ms. Hudson-Hummel answered the door and I asked if Finn and Kurt were home she said yeah why. I told her I wanted to invite them for lunch, so we can end this on the right level, we fought and said mean and nasty things to each other for months and I'm tired of it honestly. I told her we are all graduating in a month and I'm leaving for New York right after, and I don't want harbor any bad feeling towards either of them. She called Finn and Kurt to come downstairs. Finn asked why I was there.
I told them and my exact words were: Listen what guys did was not okay. You got Santana and her dad arrested on charges that was not true, which is why they were released. You outed Quinn to her father because she didn't want to be with you anymore. Kurt, you outed Santana to the whole world and I'm clueless as to why? She's another gay person. How could do that to another person, knowing what you went through at the same school. But I want to put all that behind us. I leave for New York right after graduation with Santana and I don't want to part on bad terms; I think we should have lunch and say goodbye formally. Is what I said.
Kurt said he didn't trust me, and I told him well I thought we could have lunch but never mind, have a great life. I turned around and walked back to my car when Finn said that he wanted to go to lunch with me. Kurt still didn't trust that I was being sincere, and Finn convinced him to come. Then we went to Subway on 34th and MacArthur Ave. We ordered our food and sat down and ate it; we talked for a while then I drove them back home and I went home. That's the last time I saw them." Rachel said.
"Someone drugged Finn and Kurt with a mild sedative. It was found in there both of their bloodstreams." Det. Harrison said.
"Really that's unfortunate." Rachel said.
"Why did you do it? Why did you kill them?" Det. Cortez asked getting annoyed.
"This questioning is over! Good day gentlemen Rachel not another word let's go." Rachel's lawyer said. Rachel bail was a million dollars in which Antonio paid and Rachel was released. Her lawyer drove her home.
~ Meanwhile, at the Hudson-Hummel Residence ~
~ No One's P.O.V ~
Megan Lopez and two huge guys knock on the door and Carol answered. Megan and the two men with her barged into the house and closed the door. Megan walked to the living room and sat down across from Burt.
"Who are you and why are you in my house?" Carol snapped.
"So, you will watch your tone, or you will end up like your kids." Megan said.
"Bitch who do you think you're talking too?" Carol said getting up as Megan pulled out her gun and motioned for Carol to sit back down. She did as she was told.
"So, this is what will happen… You will call the detectives and tell them you are dropping all charges against Rachel Berry, and when they ask why, you will tell them you're just sad because it feels like you didn't even know your own son." Megan said.
"I will do no such thing, that bitch killed my boys." Carol said.
"Your son pulled the trigger, not Rachel! But you will make the call, or I'll kill Burt and you will be alone." Megan said.
"You're bluffing, you would have done it already." Carol said and Megan shot Burt in the knee without a second thought.
"Bitch do you still think I'm playing with you?" Megan said.
"Ahhhh just call, please!" Burt begs holding his knee.
"How do I know you still won't kill us?" Carol asks.
"I give you my word. I'll even stitch up Burt and if you tell anyone, just know there isn't any place that you can go, that I won't find you and kill you in the slowest way possible. I'll paralyze you and then I'll torture you before killing Burt and making you watch. Then I'll kill you. Am I understood?" Megan says in a very cold voice.
"How would you even..." Carol says but is interrupted.
"I'm a doctor, I know just where to cut without killing you. DON'T… FUCK… WITH… ME!" Megan says the last part slowly so she could here each word clear.
"Okay I'll do it just clean him up please he's losing a lot of blood." Carol rushes out.
"Make the call now and put it on speakerphone." Megan demands.
"Detective Cortez..." Det. Cortez said.
"Detective Cortez this is Finn and Kurt's mom Carol. I am calling because, I just had a meltdown and I found Finn's journal with details of him wanting to kill Rachel and Santana. How he planned on doing it and everything." Carol said.
"What are you saying exactly?" Det. Cortez asked.
"I don't want to continue with pressing charges on Rachel Berry anymore. I want to drop all charges. I had no idea what my son was doing or that he was feeling this way. I'm just so very sad. I think it's time we move out of Ohio. Once we bury my boys, I will be moving to California." Carol said.
"Are you being threatened? Is someone there with you now, telling you to say these things?" Det. Cortez asked.
"Absolutely not, to be honest I just can't stay in this town or even this state. I felt like if I go across the country to California, I can restart my life. I will always miss my boys dearly, but I must go. Everything reminds me of them." Carol said.
"Okay if you are sure, we will drop all charges." Det. Cortez.
"Thank you, it's time to let my boys rest and peace." Carol said.
"You know they were drugged with a sedative, right?" Det. Cortez said.
"Yes, I know I took them to the dentist, and they got two root canals pulled on Monday late afternoon around 3:30 pm. They were put to sleep, so that's all I know." Carol said.
"Really, okay I'll check in that and I would know if you're lying." Det. Cortez said.
"Go ahead, I can even send you, my receipt. It cost me a co-pay of 300.00 for both." Carol said.
"Great, my email is .GOV." Det. Cortez said.
"Sending it now, one second." Carol walked over to her purse and got out the receipt from the dentist and snapped a photo of it and sent it to the email address provided.
"Did you get it?" Carol said.
"One moment like me check…Okay I have it and I'll drop it. Have a great life." Det. Cortez said.
"Thanks." Carol said and hung up the phone.
"They really did go to the dentist?" Megan asked.
"Yes, that was the truth, now can you please clean him up." Carol asked.
"Yeah, I gave you my word and I always keep my word." Megan said as she went to clean up Burt's knee and sewed him up.
"Thank for you sewing up my husband." Carol said.
"Thank you dropping the charges." Megan said and once she was finished, the guys stood up from the couch and walked to the door, but Megan stopped to say...
"Keep your word and you will live a long and happy life. I meant what I said, and I don't break my word, so you have my word that I will find you, I will kill your husband in front of you, I will torture you before killing you! This all will happen!" Megan said.
"I got it and I'll keep my word." Carol said.
"Goodnight." Megan said and left Carol's house with the boys and went home.
~ Meanwhile, at Antonio's house ~
Detective Cortez called Rachel's lawyer.
"Hello, this is Detective Cortez." Det. Cortez said.
"Yes, Det. Cortez what can I do for you." Rachel's lawyer said.
"I am calling to let you know that Rachel is free and clear. Mrs. Hudson-Hummel has dropped all charges against Rachel. Mrs. Hudson-Hummel wants to move on and let her kids rest in peace. So that's all." Det. Cortez said.
"Thank you Det. Cortez and I agree that the deceased kids should rest in peace." Rachel's lawyer said.
"Goodbye." Det. Cortez said.
"Bye." Rachel's lawyer said as he hung up the phone and turned to Rachel who was waiting to see what happened.
"Rachel you free and clear. Carol has dropped all charges against you and just wants her kids to Rest in Peace." Rachel's lawyer said.
"Oh my God, thank you Uncle Bobby you saved my life." Rachel jumped up and hugged Bobby.
"My brother, you did it. Thank you I didn't want to kill them, I really didn't." Tony said
"Bro, I told you, I had your back." Bobby said. "Are you going to stay?" Tony asked.
"Nope, I have to go home and be with my kids. Let me know when you need me." Bobby said as he went to the guest room and packed up his clothes and left. Everyone could breathe a sigh of relief, now that it was officially over.
"I'm going sleep, it's been an emotional couple of days." Rachel announced as she walked upstairs and laid in her bed a free woman and Rachel could not be happier as she closed her eyes and went to sleep.
