I'm sorry for the late update; this time it was really because I forgot. I tried to upload a while ago but wasn't working and I said 'Oh I'll upload it tomorrow', well needless to say I forgot the following day. So yeah here is Chapter Eleven.
Chapter Eleven: Lilithmon Strikes
(Kari's P.O.V, A Few Days Later)
I sat in the corner of the room; for right now I was actually staying with Takuya's family, his family welcomed me in when Takuya said I was a friend from his childhood and I had just recently lost my parents. They didn't question my silence either.
"Why are you being so silent? I would think after five years you would have a lot say." We were in his room waiting for Koji and Koichi to come.
"I feel defenseless." Lady Ophanimon had taken the necklace that held the Spirit of Harmony saying she wanted to look over it and make sure it was still in working order after all of these years.
"Don't worry, if something happened when you don't have it you know we would protect you." I shook my head and pulled my knees to my chest.
"I hate feeling this helpless, so defenseless and weak. I had enough of this feeling when I was a kid who was always sick and got teased." Takuya looked slightly sadden and he laid back on his bed.
"Imagine how I felt for a year and half Kari; I didn't have my Spirit of Flames for a year and a half. I often caught myself picking fights that I barely won." I laughed slightly and shook my head.
"Imagine how she feels since she can't fight for herself without that though Takuya. We always have our strength to fall back on but she's weak in body due to her illness." Takuya jumped at Koji's voice but I didn't since I was used to him popping up at the most randomness of times.
"Not to mention when we all remember that there were times we had to be saved by her." I wrapped my arms around my legs at Koichi's words.
"We're stronger than we were back then." Takuya's words didn't mean much.
"They're also stronger so we can't underestimate them like we did in the past. When we were younger we thought they were weak and would need to act in a group to really do damage but we learned that the hard way." Koji walked towards Takuya's bed and sat down while Koichi offered me both a hand up and a smile.
"There's no need to shut yourself away though Kari; things may look scary but the darkness isn't something you need to fear." I was slightly surprised that Koichi knew that I was scared of what could happen.
"I would ask how you know but I didn't forget you're the DigiDestined of Darkness. I won't ask you that question but the question that I will answer is why do you think I'm afraid." He blinked but I did grab his hand and he helped me up.
"I don't know; I might've sensed you were scared but I don't know why." I walked over to the bean bag chair that Takuya randomly had in his room; I had claimed this as my seat every time I've been in his seat.
"I was lost in the darkness back then, when you guys first met me, having almost died scared me and being alone made that fear only grow worse. I'm afraid that if I lose myself to the darkness that side of me would come out again." They only knew so much of what I meant by that.
"We should go out and just enjoy a peaceful day since we all know the peaceful days are going to come to an end soon enough." I was kinda glad for Takuya's change of subject.
"I have to agree, soon enough we'll have to fight so we should enjoy this beautiful summer day, not to mention it'll be school soon as well." The one annoying thing is I don't even get away from school here; Takuya's parents decided to sign me up for the same school as Takuya.
"How is that going to work for you; you don't really have a past here." I laughed hearing that but Takuya shook his head and pointed at me.
"Someone taught her how to hack into the government; she created herself a past in this world." The twins stared at me both surprised and slightly amused.
"What I was bored and Izzy needed help looking into something; he thought something fishy was going on so I helped him and learned how to hack the government." I don't really want to know where Izzy learned how to hack the government so I won't question it that much.
"What did he need to hack into the government for?" I stood up and stretched.
"Well they covered up a Digimon attack saying it was terrorist attack and then one day we had a random overnight 'terrorist attack' again and he thought it was Digimon related, turns out it really was Digimon related." That surprised them slightly.
"So the government in your world knew of Digimon?" I shrugged.
"I don't know if they did but all cases that dealt with Digimon were closed by the same person, someone named Kain Shuji. In my world there was a group of DigiDestined before my friends so maybe he was a DigiDestined, I don't really know but it's odd." They didn't question much more and we left Takuya's room and went downstairs; his parents and younger brother were out for the day.
"So how long are you staying with Takuya's family?" I looked to Takuya and he sighed.
"Why don't you answer Koji's questions Kari?" I stuck my tongue out at him as we left his house.
"Well since my parents don't exist here I made it that lost my parents recently due to an accident that didn't make the news, so I was an orphan. When Takuya told his parents that they decided to adopt me." That got odd looks from both of the twins.
"So you two are now adoptive siblings?" We both nodded but Takuya had a grin on his face.
"You know I don't know if that's a good or bad thing; two crazy people under one roof." We stood surprised by Koji's joke for a few moments before Takuya began chasing after him and he bolted.
"Did Koji really just make a joke?" Koichi nodded and looked to me.
"That's slightly rare; also why aren't you chasing him considering he did call you crazy as well." I smiled and looked up at the sky as we walked; I trusted that Koichi wouldn't let me walking into anything.
"I accept being crazy sometimes; I did only walk towards a Mega level Digimon without any fear five years ago along with taking on some of the strongest Digimon without too much hesitation when I could've backed out." I heard Koichi laugh slightly.
"Ok I see your reason why you accept that." I looked to him since I could tell something was bugging him.
"What are you thinking about Koichi?" He shook his head.
"It's just something that happened; I knew you were the DigiDestined of Light without you telling me." I wasn't too surprised, that would confuse even me if I just knew something about something that I wasn't told.
"You probably sensed it; you can sense Koji's light so maybe you sensed mine and just guessed from that that I was the DigiDestined of Light." He shook his head and sighed.
"You're the DigiDestined of Harmony so you have an equal balance of both Light and Darkness; you could have easily been the DigiDestined of Darkness." I sighed.
"I don't know how you knew but I still think you just sensed it; since your Darkness maybe you just sensed that I was Light instead of Darkness." He shrugged his shoulders.
"Maybe you're right; also I think we got ditched considering we had no real destination and those two ran off." I shrugged and yawned slightly.
"We'll bump into them by the end of the day, worse come to worse we know where they live." He laughed at my joke but I stopped dead in my tracks when I felt something cold shoot down my spine.
'My favorite toy is finally back in the right mind; it was so annoying not being about to terrorize you.' I knew that voice and it made me shiver; when I wore the necklace that was the staff of harmony she couldn't enter my mind since it blocked her out.
"Koichi I feel sick…" Something made my stomach twist in knots that made me feel the sudden urge to throw up; he had stopped when I had stopped and now he stared at me.
"What's wrong Kari?" I covered my mouth as I heard her, Lilithmon, laugh in my head.
"Lilithmon's inside of my head." His eyes went wide and he took a few hesitant steps towards me.
'You know no one would actually like someone like you; did you know your two best friends from the previous world were the two kids who bullied you the most? It's cute how they both claimed to love you too.' Hearing that made my eyes went wide.
"You're lying…" I barely muttered it due to the nausea; Koichi was confused by what I muttered.
'Am I lying? Think about it, oh wait you did a few times didn't you? Compared their appearances, their shared traits; you didn't want to admit it that they were same did you Hikari?' She needs to get out of my head!
"Why are you doing this Lilithmon?" I heard her laughter echo in my head and a few seconds later what happened seemed to happen in slow motion.
Out of nowhere a Digimon appeared and it swatted Koichi away from me like he was nothing. When his back slammed into the concrete wall his eyes went wide and coughed up a bit of blood. He fell to his knees and he coughed up some more blood. When something touched my check I looked without moving and I recognized the claw.
"I wanted to have you two completely defenseless; I knew he would be too distracted to sense me if he was worried about you. I knew if I caused you to think about the truth you won't admit you wouldn't sense me either." Her voice was sickening sweet, she was not only the Demon Lord of Lust but she was known as a temptress, in the worlds she helped destroyed she usually played male DigiDestineds to get close to them and then killed them.
I tried to keep the whimper inside since I knew I was at her mercy completely since Koichi couldn't even move at this point after the impact he had that left him coughing up blood. He had both of his hands on the ground to keep himself from collapsing. Yet from the way his arms shook in an effort to keep himself up I knew he was on the verge of passing out.
"We'll see how much faith they have in you once you're not this girl who they all know." I didn't know what she meant but I was scared of what she meant.
Before I knew it my feet left the ground as Lilithmon began floating upwards; I was waiting for her to drop me and plummet to the ground beneath. Yet she didn't float too far off of the ground; even if she dropped me I would be able to land on my feet and maybe suffer a few scratches. I couldn't figure out what she was planning to do.
"You're scared aren't you Hikari? You can't figure out what I'm going to do to you can you? You always loved knowing what your opponent would do next, always loved out smarting them since it made you feel needed by others but you were never accept were you." I couldn't hold back the whimper anymore; once the whimper came out she began laughing and I knew she was enjoying this too much.
"I'll let you in on a secret since you're my favorite toy." She whispered that into my ear as Koichi began falling to his side.
"I'm going to make sure you lose the last ounce of innocences left of you." My eyes went wide when I heard that; I knew she really would do something like that.
"N-no please…" I was surprised that it escaped my lips; it even surprised Lilithmon.
"Are you actually begging me?" I couldn't stop the tears that came from eyes; they fell out of fear of what would happen next.
"You're actually crying from fear; you're much easier to break than I thought." She began laughing sadistically.
"I wanted to break your ever present will; I want to see that look of confidence broken, I wanted to see weakness and pain in your eyes again!" She got what she wanted; she broke the last shred of courage I had left, I'm truly helpless and at her mercy now that Koichi is completely knocked out.
I closed my eyes because I didn't want to see what happened next; I willed my body to be numb so I wouldn't have to feel what would happen next. Where is the one person who would scream monster when you needed them? Where was the screamer! I felt my body hit a wall but I never felt the pain and I didn't feel anything for hours; somewhere in that time frame I black out.
My eyes fluttered open when I felt something drop onto my face; it took a while for my eye sight to clear and when it did I saw the ceiling and I felt the softness of a bed below me. I blinked a few times to get used to the light that was on in the room. After a few seconds I recognized the room I was in as being the room I was staying in at Takuya's house. Was it all a dream? I mean I fell asleep with the light on again! I've been doing that every night since I got here. I sat up and no one was in my room; I was going to laugh but I suddenly felt pain surge through my body. I couldn't help the scream the erupted from me and I fell back onto the bed and tears fell from eyes. I heard running footsteps and the door burst open; Takuya and Koji stood there.
"Kari are you ok?" I bit my lip trying to tell myself it was a horrible dream and this pain was because I slept the wrong way but I knew it wasn't a dream, I knew it really happened.
I didn't answer them because the pain was too great; after a few moments Takuya walked over to my bed with a glass of water. I didn't want to sit up but he almost forced me to but he also gave me what I knew was pain medicine but he had to hold the glass of water since my hands shook so badly. Once done I fell back onto the bed but that only made the pain worse, slightly, but still worse.
"It wasn't a dream was it? It really happened didn't it? No one arrived in time to save me did they?" Neither of them would even look at me; neither of them would speak for a few moments.
"The battle has begun and they already have a head start." I knew what Koji words meant; he couldn't bring himself to say it out right but he was telling me it had really happen with his words.
"You won't be able to fight for a while; you'll have to stand back and let us fight." The anger that dripped from Takuya's voice was unlike what I heard before.
It took a semi-dark twist yet something unexpected is in store for them. It also took me a while to think if I wanted to post this version of the Chapter or if I wanted to write a alternative version but I got it all planned out and fixed. Just wait to see what's in store.
