I'm back and I've gotten ideas for the story finally! Ok I'm not gonna lie and say something happened besides that I got caught up watching Fairy Tail and reading Fairy Tail stories. So yeah, sorry about neglacting Kari's Secret. I'm pretty sure I'll be writing this often now or I'll try at least. Also in my opinion my writing has gotten better so at least one good thing right?
Chapter Thirteen: Fight and New Ally (Maybe?)
(Takuya's P.O.V)
I looked at Kari one last time before we left. She was fast asleep but she wasn't alone. Before the attack Shinya got surprisingly attached to her and once commented 'I always wanted an older sister'. My parents were back and when they asked what happened to her I told them the truth, told them that she was attacked by a Digimon. Their reaction surprised me, my mother freaked out while my father seemed to believe me. In fact he seemed completely calm and seemed to have thought that Kari was a DigiDestined all along.
"Stay safe…" I placed a kiss upon Kari's forehead before turning around and walking from her room, closing the door behind me quietly.
We promised to protect her and we weren't able to protect her. I'm surprised she still trusts us after we failed her in truth. I mean we promised her and we didn't keep that promise. I had to wonder if she 'forgave' us but in truth deep down she hadn't but had said that because she doesn't want to hurt us. She isn't the same girl she used to when we were nine years old. No over these five years she's changed and probably not for the best.
"Takuya." I stopped, surprised that my father was still up considering that it's probably two in the morning.
"Yeah?" I looked to him and I took note that he had the same look from when I told him about Kari, when I told the truth.
"You're going to the Digital World aren't you?" I nodded, there's no use in lying right?
"You aren't going by yourself are you? Even if you're strong fighting them by yourself isn't wise." His words surprised me and made me wonder what he knew.
"No, I'm meeting up with Koji." Koichi was out for a while too, he had three broken ribs from when he was thrown into the wall.
"Just the two of you?" I nodded, how does he know things about the Digital World?
I mean I told him about the Digital World but the way he spoke he knew more about it than what I had told him. Not to mention he seemed to know about the Demon Lords which made me cautious. He was my father but I remember that five years ago when I first fought them they had attacked us while being in human form.
"Why do you seem to know so much about the Digital World?" He shook his head.
"That's a story for another day son, just go but be careful." I gave him one more glance before I left the house and began running to the place where Koji and I are meeting up.
What did he mean that it's a story for another day? He's my dad so I'm gonna trust him but I seriously hope that I won't regret the choice. I shook my head as I ran, I need to focus. This was going to be risky so I had to focus. Koji and I were going to take the fight to them. After what they did they're going to pay. They aren't going to get away with hurting Kari like they did. They don't hurt my friends and get away with it. By the time I reached the meeting place, a park, I noticed that Koji was already there humming a song, it sounded oddly familiar for some reason.
"I was never right for the hero type of role
I admit it
With my heart shivering in fear
I can see today's reflected in each past tear…"
I was surprised by the words he 'sang'. Koji couldn't sing that well, from what I just heard at least. What bugged me was the fact that it wasn't the words but how familiar it sounded. I knew it wasn't his because well it's Koji! One the lyrics seem girly and he doesn't cry! Not to mention the all verse about the heart just isn't him!
"How true, you were never meant for the hero type of role Kari. Too much stress was placed on you when you were more of a protector not someone who fought on the front lines. No that was more meant for Takuya and me." His words struck me that song was it Kari's?
She wrote songs back when we knew her because that was her only way out without hurting herself. There were things that happened to her that no one knew. Things that she only told us, things that she never wrote down to ashamed to admit the truth. I began walking towards him but as soon as I moved he looked to me and I only got a quick look at the emotions that flashed across his face before everything was gone.
"You're late." I rolled my eyes and leaned on the slide that was close by the swing that he was sitting in.
"Well sorry, I was talking to my dad. He was up for some reason." I won't tell him about my thoughts of my father yet, he may not show it but he was worried enough about Kari.
"Ah, how was Kari today?" As he asked the question he pushed himself with his feet so he swung back and forth slightly.
"She didn't eat much again and I Shinya was with her all day today, he seems to rather fond of her oddly enough." He nodded; this was a side of Koji I haven't seen since years ago.
"Hey doesn't this remind you of that day Takuya?" I guess from the look I gave him he knew I was confused.
"Five years ago when we were in her word, it the three of us since Koichi overslept remember? You leaning against the slide, we were sitting in the swings, she told us of her secret. It was that week after she first met Yune." I drew a blank for a few moments but then it dawned on me.
"We need to go Koji, she'll leave soon and then this chance will be gone." He met my eyes and I was surprised by the sudden flare of determination and anger that flashed through his eyes.
"Yeah, let's get this going." He stood up and he glanced around before he pulled something out of his pocket.
I watched as he opened his hand and I was confused by the thing that sat in his palm. It was letting off a whitish glow and I sensed something from it. It gave off a feeling similar to Kari, but it had lighter qualities almost. Something about it seemed untainted by anything and it seemed to drawl me in for some reason. Something about it was different.
"What is that Koji?" I saw a smirk cross his face and he laughed slightly.
"Something that Kari trusted me with, Koichi holds the twin of this." If Koji held one and Koichi held the other then it has to deal with Light and Darkness.
"Kari found this and its twin when she woke up one day; she said it looked like a white version of what she called the 'Crest of Light'. The other one, its twin, is pitch black and she guesses that it's probably the 'Crest of Darkness'." I don't know what a 'crest' is but it's probably a term from her Digital World.
"How is this gonna help us?" He sighed and gave me a look that clearly stated a threat.
"You tell anyone what's about to happen I'm gonna hit you. If this is gonna work you have to hold the crest too." It was in that moment when I understood.
I was hesitant but I touched the crest and I felt a small surge of power flow into me and I felt it pulse with my Spirit of Flame. I felt flame and light almost dancing within me. Was this Kari's power that dwells in whatever this 'crest' is? I watched as a bubble of light swallowed us and I felt the same feeling I got whenever we traveled to the Digital World by the Trailmon. Was this transporting us to the Digital World?! Koji said he had a way of getting into the Digital World without anyone knowing but this surprised me.
The sensation disappeared after a few moments and the bubble began to disappear slowly and when it did we were both surprised by where we were. We were at Lady Ophanimon's castle. Koji had a confused looked before narrowing his eyes.
"It took us straight to where Lilithmon." Why would she be here, here in the castle?
"Maybe it didn't work right why would we be here?" We were keeping our voice low in case there was a reason why we were here.
Maybe Lady Ophanimon got attacked by Lilithmon. She was up to something so I wouldn't put it past her. Koji went to the door that led to Lady Ophanimon's 'throne room' or as we often refer to it as her Sanctuary. He ran his hand over it trying to get it to open but after a few moments the white crest let out a small shine and the door opened a little and I crossed the hallway silently and we peeked in. My eyes went wide when I saw the scene of what was going on within the room.
"You really are good at making plans. They don't even think that you've betrayed them, that you've used them since the very moment that they received those texts a year and half ago." We were both watching Lilithmon talking to a calm Lady Ophanimon.
"Why would they expect anything? They're mindless puppets; they're nothing more than simple pawns. It was easy to play Seraphimon and even easy to trick Cherubimon." I couldn't believe what I was hearing!
"I really have to wonder why though, why did we have to attack that Light? I mean yes she was strong but you had already tricked her into giving you the Harmony Necklace and Lucemon's destroyed now." At that my anger boiled.
I can accept her using us. I can accept her calling us mindless puppets but she had them attack Kari. She knew that our weakness would be Kari. She tried to use Kari to break us apart but that was her mistake. Attacking Kari only made us angrier and more determined to fight them and win. Koichi's words rang in my head from when I had visited him the hospital. 'Sealing them is a fate to kind to them.' After what they did I agreed with his words even more, sealing them away is a fate to kind for them.
"She knew that fell from grace; she could sense it and I couldn't let that get out now could I? Also with that girl I knew if we attacked them they would fall apart. They would blame each other and lose their trust in one another and whoever was there and failed to protect her would be eaten by guilt. Who knows maybe the one who witnessed it ill off there selves." Oh how wrong could you be Lady Ophanimon?
We didn't blame one another in fact it only made us more determined to kill you guys. Koichi is anything but feeling that bad. Yes he's guilty but he just swore to get stronger and he refuses to let himself lose like that ever again. Koichi would never dream of killing himself not only was it taking the easy way out but it would make Kari feel guilty and the last thing he would want to do is make her feel guilty. I glanced to Koji and I saw his eyes were dangerously narrowed. Oh he was pissed off.
"So you just used her to break them a part?" Lady Ophanimon nodded and she stood up, laughing.
"They're just idiots you know? They believe anything I tell them." Well after today we won't be listening to anything.
I saw him put the glowing white crest in his pocket and I took note of how it pulsed with energy. There was something about that crest that will either be very good for us or very bad for us. I don't know which right now. He stood up and I saw him pull out his D Tector and I saw the gleam in his eye, the darken hallway did nothing short of making him seem evil. I stood up and I pulled out my D Tector as well, silently thankful that we both learned how to Spirit Evolve without the need of the chant thing. The one thing that I was mad about was the fact that the farthest we could go was Fusion Evolution since Lady Ophanimon hadn't added the other spirits to our D Tectors yet.
"This is where they'll learn their lesson." He raised his sword that he had as BeoWolfmon.
He struck the door and it whined under the pressure before the doors busted open. Both Lady Ophanimon and Lilithmon turned to look but they were met with a Frozen Hunter, which I hadn't realized that Koji even used before they were hit. I chose to use the chance.
"Atomic Inferno!" The fire struck into the cloud of dust that Frozen Hunter had stirred up and once it cleared we were greeted by two angry Lilithmons.
"You two should've just stayed away and you would've lived a little longer." I was surprised because the Lilithmon that spoke was the used to be Lady Ophanimon but that just made me angrier; she was one of the Demons who dared to hurt Kari.
"It doesn't matter this will just get rid of them quicker. They would die eventually anyways; they can go and meet that worthless Yune girl or who knows by the time I'm done with them maybe he'll be done with his revenge." My thoughts went to Kari right away, out of everyone she was the only one who made Digimon mad enough to work with the Demon Lords.
"You'll regret leaving the girl alone with no one to protect her." Before I could even prepare for an attack Koji had already charged and I had a feeling that they would be the one to regret their choice.
"Frozen Hunter!" He swung the sword and sent the attack but they both dodged it but he did something I hadn't thought he would do; he switched to Lobomon in a flash of bright light.
"Lobo Kendo!" The ball of that that he usually only sent after one enemy was two they seemed surprised, surprised enough to get hit.
I charged into the battle and I hit managed to clip one of them with my Solar Wind Destroyer. After a few moments Koji was BeoWolfmon again and we ended back to back, we were each facing a Lilithmon. I was going to take one down; one of them will not be leaving this room.
"You two are really funny; you think you have the power to even combat us. You only won because you that little light last time with her surprising skills but she's no more." My eyes went wide when I felt it, I looked down and I found the Lilithmon that was a part of the Demon Lords.
She had her hand ran through me. How did she get that close without me noticing? How did she get through my armor? I saw her smirk and in that moment I realized that she hadn't just stabbed me. She was using her ever famous move, Nazar Nail. Since she used it, it made since why she got through my armor so easily, it corroded everything that it touched. She removed her blood soaked hand and my Spirit Evolution dropped.
"Takuya." They were both sent away from us when Koji did something but I was more concentrated on the hole in my stomach to care what he did to make them go away.
"This isn't good…" I thought we would be able to take her, I thought for sure but I guess since there is two is what got us.
"You idiots, Red Cross!" I was surprised, I flinched from the explosion and when the dust settled they were still there but they were surprisingly harmed by the attack that came from Koichi as Rhihimon.
"What are you doing here?" He landed but when he did I saw why he had thrown the spear at them, he placed Kari on her feet and she kneeled beside.
As I took in her appearance I noticed something was different about her. Maybe it was because of being stabbed by Lilithmon but her reddish brown eyes seemed just pure red. She held her hands out and I watched as the symbol from the white crest that Koji showed me shined on her right hand with a white glow while the on her left hand the same symbol shined but instead of being white it was black. Since I had a hand on my stomach I felt myself getting healed and that surprised me.
"How are you still alive?! Myotismon should've taken care of you, you pesky light!" I saw from the corner of my eye Koichi shove Koji suddenly and he took up off into the air and that confused me.
Seconds later it became clear why though. A bunch of flickering white arrows shot through the air and a few arrows struck one of the Lilithmons. The arrows burned the hit Lilithmon and she screamed, from the scream I could tell it was the used to be Lady Ophanimon. The other one, the Demon Lord Lilithmon, disappeared in a flash of shadows yet seconds after that where she had been a white arrow tore through the air.
"Who are you?" At Koji's question I turned to look where the arrows had come from.
There in the now ruined door way, thanks to Koji, stood a girl. She looked probably thirteen or fourteen despite the fact that she had white hair so I assumed it was natural even if it was unnatural to me. She wore a white top that had long sleeves on the end of each sleeve seemed to have half a sun like design, not to mention it looked like the sleeves were long enough that they would hang over her hands. She wore a pair of dark blue cargo pants and her out of place red eyes gave away nothing.
"Kari, are you ok?" Their attention turned to Kari when she was asked, she had somehow completely healed me and she was breathing hard.
"It's nothing; it's the least I could do." Kari tried to stand up but she fell back Koji caught her.
"How do you know Kari?" Koji, who was still pissed off from learning everything we did, snapped at the white haired girl who only sighed.
"She's after the Demon Lords as well; she said she would help us fight them." The girl let the bow that had been made of pulsing white light disappear and her smirk turned to a smile.
"The name's Chrono but just call me Ivory or Snow." Before our eyes the seemingly nice Chrono turned scary, her red eyes narrowed and she summoned her bow once again and the arrows shot through the air, I turned to look at what she shot at only to see the Lady Ophanimon go flying, having almost hit us with her Nazar Nail.
"Filthy Demons." She muttered it but I she sounded like she hated them completely, as if she knew them.
Ok the song lyrics come from Crossing Fields, Sword Art Online's Theme. I used the lyrics that LeeandLie did on Youtube, which I own nothing of. So yeah, I promise I'll try to update more. Also can anyone guess who Chrono is? Bye, see you next time~! (I promise there will be a next time!)
