Chapter 9: Big Happy Family

Chloe growled as she stared back at the message that was sent to her. She got some cardboard to cover the broken window as she texted Nathan about getting the window fixed. She went back to the room. Rachel and Maxine were teaching Gondul how to walk again. Chloe watched them; she was not going to let Eliot fuck with her family. Maxine glanced up to see Chloe. "Kuda ...what's wrong?"

Chloe sighed. "I don't want to make it a big deal, but Eliot threw a brick through the window."

Rachel groaned. "Not that same Eliot that followed you to my house. After I asked, I told you where the key was and the passcode to my father's study? The one that keeps claiming I'm using you?" she asked.

Chloe nodded. "Yeah….that Eliot," she said with a rather irritated groan as she dropped the brick on the floor.

Maxine shifted Gondul as she sat in Maxine's lap, biting her hand. "Should we be worried now? You….you don't think he'll hurt the kids. Do you?"

Chloe sighed. Rubbing her forehead, it had been so long since she got him to take the fall of the "break-in." The thought of him still creeped her out. "I don't know, honestly. The fact that I can't give you a solid answer. That scares the shit out of me. I thought he'd never try to hurt me until he shoved me back towards the desk and almost hit me head-on. You know the police here take everything as a joke. I mean, they didn't give a shit about Rachel being missing in the other timelines." said Chloe.

The mention of Rachel's death in the other timelines got her to shudder. She sometimes thinks about it and how much she was willing to give up just to escape the town she hated so much. Rachel knew that she wasn't above trying to seduce a teacher to start a modeling career, which made her hate herself more than she knew that she'd try to do something with Frank for drugs. Maxine shot her a look. "Hey, Razor Blade, I know what you're thinking, so stop."

Rachel shook her head. "I don't know what you're talking about."

Maxine chuckled. "Rach, that wasn't you. Yes, it may have been a version of you, but it wasn't the real you. Why don't you ask Nathan to make the police report? They will listen to him after all; his dad does pay them after all. They have to take the word of the most powerful son seriously. Being best friends with a rich white boy has its perks. "

Chloe nodded. "He's coming over right now, and actually, I asked him to stay over so we can catch Eliot. When that happens, we can wipe his memory clean of his obsession with me."

Rachel got up from the floor. "I'm going to check on the girls. Maybe we should have them sleep in here tonight to keep them safe."

Maxine and Chloe agreed; Rachel left the room to check on Bella and Rota. They were still asleep. Rach walked over to Bella's bed; sitting at its end, she brushed the stray hairs from her face. Maxine and Chloe entered the room with Gondul. "You okay, Rach?" asked Chloe.

Rachel nodded. "Yeah, I was starting to think about my dad for a second."

Maxine shuffled unconformably. She heard everything that happened between Rachel and James. She never knew how to talk about him, so she just never asked about him. "Why do you think about him?"

Rachel sighed. "About the whole thing about protecting your child from the truth."

Chloe nodded. "Well, this is different. They're too young to know about Eliot. They don't need to know that he's trying to destroy our little family."

The three of them heard the front door open leaving the conversation where it was at; they went downstairs to greet Nathan and Warren with Gondul, who was sleeping in Rachel's arm. They were surprised when they had three kids with them as well. "Nate, when did you?"

Warren grinned. "When Maxine and I were on the phone talking about starting a family, she threw out the idea of Nathan and me adopting a kid. Ladies, I'd like to introduce you to Loki and Chris, as well as Daniel. We took him in as well because he's great friends with Chris. We're trying to help get his brother out of jail." he said.

Loki stood behind Nathan's leg, not fully trusting the three. While Chris tilted his head. "Hi,"

Not long after did they hear footsteps coming down the stairs. "Bella, you're awake. These are your uncles Nathan and Warren, and these are their kids Chris, Daniel, and…." started Maxine.

Bella's eyes widened as she threw her arms around the shy-looking boy. "Loki! I thought I'd never see you again. I thought you forgot about me just like dad did…."

Loki returned the hug. "Forget you? I could never. I still have the scar on my chest from when you shocked me when you first got your powers."

Bella blushed. "T-That wasn't my fault you shouldn't have snuck up on me!"

Chris chuckled. "You two haven't changed; nice to see you again too Bella, how's Rota?"

Bella hugged Chris too. "She's better; she'll be glad to see you, Captain Spirit, and who can forget the Superwolf."

Daniel hugged Bella as well. "The gangs are all here. I wish Sean were here to see all the friends I've made."

Rachel crossed her arms. "Bella, is there something you'd like to fill us in on?" she asked.

Bella blushed. "Oh right, sorry…..I got excited. Mama, papa ...mommy, this is my childhood friend that I told you about, and she's my…."

Loki blushed this time. "First of all, Bella is the only one that told me that I'm a girl. She kept my secret. With that secret, she became my girlfriend. Everyone assumes I'm a guy because my mom named me Loki." said Loki holding Bella's hand.

Chloe kneels to Loki. "Loki, come here. I want to tell you something," said Chloe.

Loki nervously walked over to Chloe. Chloe took hold of Loki's hand, pulling her close to whisper in her ear. "I want to like you, but if you break my daughter's heart, I will break your legs."

Loki's face paled. "Ummm….I…," said Loki before transforming into a ferret crawling into Bella's shoulder. "Papa! What did you say to her!" said Bella, petting Ferret Loki's head.

Maxine twisted Chloe's arm behind her back. "Ow, ow, ow, ow! Fuck Maxi, let go!"

Rachel chuckled. "That's what you get for scaring poor little Loki."

Chloe lowered her head. "Alright, alright, I didn't mean it, Loki. But if you hurt Bella in any way, I know where you live."

Loki didn't move from her spot on Bella's shoulder. Nathan sighed, giving up; Warren rubbed the back of his neck. "So, I used to hang out with Eliot. I think if we leave the house, he'll follow us," explained Warren. Bring them back to the reason why they showed up.

Bella raised an eyebrow but didn't say a thing. She just rubbed Loki's head, taking her upstairs for her to get dressed. Chris shook his head. Daniel couldn't stop laughing. Loki hopped off Bella's shoulder as she watched her try on different outfits before settling on a black shirt with the dark mark on the back [given to her by Maxine], slightly ripped jeans, and ankle-high Vans. She was a stylish little six-year-old. She woke up Rota, who didn't take that long to get dressed, leaving their room to return to their parents. Rota freaked out when she saw Chris and Daniel out of all the kids. Chris and Daniel were the oldest, ten, Loki being eight, then Bella being six, and Rota being the youngest; three. Gondul was still asleep. She held onto Cyndaquil as she slept.

They ended up at a park where they ran into the most unlikely couple. The Omegas found themselves looking at Victoria Chase with Kate Marsh and a little girl. Loki and Chris crossed their arms. "Holy crap, Hati!"

The platinum blond girl grinned. "This cannot be real! Is it you guys!? The squad is back!" she said, hugging Bella, Loki, Chris, Daniel, and Rota.

Loki and Bella kissed her cheeks. "That's for saving us from Ifrit."

Hati nodded. "Ummm, no problem. Ummm, I thought you all were still, y'know,"

Bella smiled. "We got adopted not too long ago. Different families, so we're still dating," she explained.

Nathan stood there, awkwardly. "Ummm, so what is this?" he asked, gesturing between Victoria and Kate.

Kate took hold of Victoria's hand. "Victoria and I are engaged," she said. Maxine and Chloe's jaws dropped. Out of everyone in Blackwell, these two becoming a couple was the last thing they thought would happen. Nathan getting with Warren was a bit unexpected for them, however, they could see it happening. Chloe did give Nathan the nickname of Draco Malfoy while giving Warren the Harry Potter one.

Victoria walked over to Rachel. "Can we let the past go?"

Rachel was about to say something before they heard a scream. "Let me go!" screamed Bella and Loki. "Fuck!" hissed Chloe.

They ran over to the swings, where they saw Eliot and Scorpion holding onto Bella and Loki. They were both unconscious. Maxine's face paled when she was Scorpion. Chloe and Nathan growled. "Let them go!" Eliot and Scorpion pointed their guns towards the group when they came over.

Scorpion grinned. "Max, my love, it's been a long time now. You left Seattle so fast that I never got to tell you how much I loved you. But of course, that bitch was always the one that captured your interest!" she said with extreme malice glaring at Chloe.

Eliot looked at Chloe. "You should've known you were meant to be with me, not her! Not some whore or a bitch that left you when you needed her most of all! I was so nice to you. I waited for you to notice I wanted to be with you after we slept together, but you just had to be a fucking dyke slut. Well, you owe me for all the shit I did for you." said Eliot.

Chloe physically cringed. She couldn't believe that she was so lonely that she slept with this psychopath. He was really one of those guys that thought he'd get whatever they wanted for being nice.

Rachel growled, going full mommy bear mode. "If you have a problem with me, why don't you say it to my face! Leave. Our. Daughter. Out. Of. It!" hissed Rachel.

Scorpion had a smug look on her face. "We'll let them go if you just promise to be with us. Come on, Maxi, you know you love me."

Victoria glanced between Chloe and Maxine. "What the hell is going on here?"

Chloe and Nathan tried to move towards the girls, but Eliot and Scorpion pointed their guns to their heads. Chloe and Nathan slowly raised their hands in the air getting to their knees.

Maxine finally found her voice. "Why would I go back to you? You are the reason why I came back to Arcadia Bay in the first place. You manipulated me when I was in a vulnerable position in my life. I guess I should thank you because if it weren't for you stirring the darkness in me, I would have never tried to kill myself that got me to come back earlier than expected. So thank you for being a bitch and a shitty girlfriend! And leading me back into the arms of my first crush and giving me a new one as well."

Eliot glared at Maxine. "You didn't care about Chloe, either! You left after her dad died. You shouldn't have her either, even anything you are just as guilty as Rachel is." he hissed then saw similar rings on Maxine, Chloe, and Rachel's fingers. Maxine had a moon on hers, Rachel had the sun, and Chloe had the moon and sun. "You're going to marry the bitch that left you when you needed her the most and the girl that whored around with Jefferson!"

Scorpion chuckled. "That's rich. As for this one, she just got in my way. The girl should've stayed in her place when Eliot knocked out your daughter. Can't have her transforming into a bear now, can we?",

Chris held onto Nathan's arm tightly. "Dad, do something! Loki's not going to die, will she?"

Nathan hissed. "I'm trying, Chris. I can't risk them hurting her."

Daniel was about to move, but Warren placed his arm out in front of him, shaking his head. "Daniel, you can't use your powers. It's too risky," he whispered. Daniel sighed but did as he was told.

Eliot shook his head. "We are going to go. If you want to see your daughters alive, you will abide by our demands."

Scorpion and Eliot left the park carrying the unconscious Bella and Loki over their shoulders. "Fuck! That wasn't supposed to happen!" hissed Nathan. Chloe gritted her teeth, punching the ground.

Victoria took hold of Nathan's face. "Are you going to explain to us what in the hell is going on!?"

Rachel sighed, grabbing the top of her head in pure panic. "We were hoping to catch Eliot with the help of Nathan because he has memory manipulation. Eliot has never liked me because he thinks I stole Chloe from him. What we didn't think would happen is that Maxine's ex would be working with him."

Victoria scoffed at the mention of powers but gasped and nearly fell over when Maxine unfused with Max. "Let me help you this time," said Max. She was placing a hand on her counterpart's shoulder.

Maxine gritted her teeth. "What can you do that I cannot, Max? We are the same person," asked Maxine.

Max nodded. "Yes, we are the same person. However, we don't have the same memories. If I go in as you, she cannot use your weaknesses against you."

Warren punched a tree. "I could've sunk up behind them!"

Nathan placed his hand on his cheek. "You not being around would've put them on high alert. Plus, we don't know what they would've done if you startled them. I would ask Maxine if she'd want to rewind but hearing what happened in Max's timeline, I don't want to risk her using it unless necessary." said Nathan.

Kate finally broke her silence. "So you all have powers? Is that why you left Blackwell?"

Maxine nodded. "We were running away from Jefferson. He, too, could manipulate time, but he could do more than what I could. He could go forward and backward in time. He was chasing me because he….wanted me, but in this timeline, he didn't….which got him angry. Bella also has powers, and so does Loki."

Rota broke down into tears. "T-They wouldn't hurt Bella, would they? Bella will be okay right?" she asked.

Rachel picked her up. "They won't kill her, that's for sure. But it was hurting her. That might happen. I'm sorry, Rota, we should've been more careful. We used your kids as bait and got played. That was irresponsible of us."

Chris frowned. "We're going to get them back, right? Papa….daddy, you will get her back, right?"

Warren smiled. "Yes, we will. Don't worry your little head Captain Spirit."

Daniel grumbled. "I could've used my powers."

Nathan kneeled in front of him. "Danny, your powers are still unpredictable. You could've accidentally hurt your sister and Bella."

Chloe sighed. "C'mon, I know who we need to ask for help," she said, placing a hand on Maxine's shoulder. "You can come too, Kate, Victoria."

The Omegas drove back to the Price house. Chloe knocked on the door, where David answered the door. "David, we need your help," said Chloe.

David looked down. "Where's Bellatrix?"

Maxine bit her lip. "She was abducted by my ex and Eliot. They also took Nathan and Warren's daughter," explained Maxine.

David nodded. "C'mon, I'll see what I can do to help." Despite how much Chloe hated him. She knew that she had to enlist his help. David knows that he is the last person Chloe would turn to for help. He didn't question what happened; he just knew he had to help.

Rota sat on the couch crying with Chris and Hati rubbing her shoulders. Chris and Hati befriended Bella and Rota at the orphanage because they also had similar reasons they were there most the other kids bullied them for. Hati was in the orphanage because her parents got murdered during a robbery. No other living relative could've taken her in; Chris was there because his dad was an abusive alcoholic. Daniel just so happens to be in the same foster care with Chris after Sean got arrested; Chris was the only one he trusted before he met the others. Hati nicknamed Chris, Ares is the type of furry that stirs in him when he gets mad, plus his love of fire. They had named their group Mythology because of their names; Bellatrix's middle name is Eris, which would explain how she got with Loki. Both of them cause mischief wherever they go.

Rota buried her face in Chris's shoulder. At the dining room table, Chloe told David everything she thought was important about Eliot, while Maxine gave every detail of how manipulative Scorpion was. Joyce came down the stairs looking confused about why everyone was in the house when she saw Rota crying. "Where's Bella?"

Nathan sighed. "She was taken as well as my daughter. Loki can transform into different animals. It was a nickname at first. We got it changed when she told us about her powers. Bella can control electricity….kinda like Black Lightning." said Nathan.

Gondul finally woke up; she looked around and didn't see Bella. She got upset. Chloe picked her up. She calmed down a little but was still upset that Bella wasn't around. "I think you should play to their demands. Make them think you're doing what they want while we try to find where they are hiding Loki and Bella," said David.

Maxine scrawled. "I am not telling Scorpion that I love her."

David placed a hand on her shoulder. "You won't. It's a ploy. You will be telling her what she wants to hear. With hostage situations, you need to do what they want because we do not know if they'll hurt Bella and Loki. Chloe, I am sorry for how I reacted to you when you first brought them over. I should've given you more credit. It's just not that long ago you were just so defiant that I didn't think it was real. I refused to see you as a responsible adult." explained David.

Chloe nodded. "Yeah, I didn't help the situation either. I didn't mean to provoke you. The girls do need a grandfather in their life. What else do we need to do?" asked Chloe.

David pulled out an earpiece. "Equipment."

Warren closed the box. "I got something better," he said as he made the same earpieces that Rachel and Maxine wore when they went after Jefferson. Maxine and Chloe took it as well as Rachel and Nathan as the three floating blue panels were now in front of him, showing Maxine and Chloe's volatiles. "We used something like this when we took down Jefferson."

David raised an eyebrow. "That was the five of you? How did you know he was doing that?"

Maxine sighed. "You remember Max?" she asked David, nodding. "Well, I had been jumping from timeline to timeline to take down Jefferson, but I could never figure out what he was doing. It wasn't until Max's timeline that I figured it out. She was my doomed timeline, where everything went to shit. My parents were dead; Jefferson killed Rachel then later shot Chloe in the head when we finally learned about the pictures. He also killed Nathan to keep his secret,, not to mention me using my time power as well as his caused a huge fucking storm."

Rachel wrapped an arm around Maxine's shoulder. She knew how much she hated to talk about Max's timeline because she lived in it for a short while. That timeline scared her so much that she came back to the current one she was in, where she met Scorpion, which is how they got here. David didn't question it. There was no time to. They set out to plan. Now it's time to cash in to save the girls. Chloe drove up to a forest that she and Eliot used to hang out at after Maxine left. Nathan trailed behind with David, Rachel, and Warren.

Warren sat in the bed of the truck. "Alright, this is it. Good luck, girls."

Maxine sighed. "Thanks, Warren."

Scorpion and Eliot were sitting there. Eliot was cleaning his gun while Scorpion sharpened a knife. "Alright, you win; we'll drop Rachel, but you have to return Bella to her since she is her rightful guardian. Loki was never supposed to be taken either," said Chloe.

Eliot glared at her. "Then take off the ring!"

Chloe and Maxine took off their engagement rings. While doing what they wanted. Nathan and Rachel went to look for their daughters. Warren had to stay back and keep an eye on Maxine and Chloe. They found a cabin where Loki and Bella were cuffed to the heater. Bella had blood dripping down her face and they slowly crept in. Rachel caressed her daughter's face. "My poor baby girl. You didn't deserve this."

Bella groaned. "M ...mama? Is that you?"

Rachel nodded. "Yeah, it's me and uncle Nathan too. Mommy and papa are here too but they're busy keeping them distracted. Can you move?" she asked wiping the blood from Bella's forehead.

Bella shook her head. "N…..no my leg ...it's broken. It hurts mama it hurts so much. They broke my leg," cried Bella.

Nathan pushed strands of hair away from Loki's face. "Pup are you okay, it's daddy."

Bella grimaced. "She's unconscious, they injected her with something," she explained.

Nathan checked her pulse. It was there but very faint. Rachel melted the metal. 'We got the girls', informed Nathan.

Chloe headbutted Eliot the moment she heard, Maxine picked up the rings, sliding them safely into her pocket. Eliot glared at Chloe. This was the moment Max took control of Maxine. She knew she needed this to look believable and having been in this exact situation on more than one occasion this was easy for her. She dropped to her knees. "Please don't do it. Chloe is everything to me."

Eliot chuckled. "What about Rachel?"

Max nodded. "Rachel and I have a different kind of bond. Chloe has always been my best friend. I don't want to see her get hurt. Not again."

Eliot glared at Max. "You left her when her dad died!"

Max gritted her teeth. "That wasn't my choice! I was thirteen at the time. I would've stayed if I could!"

Maxine sat as she watched Max plead for Chloe's life. She caught a glimpse of Nathan and Rachel with the girls. She made a move to take control but Max didn't let her. She must've seen something she didn't. "Go ahead, shoot me. You're going to regret it!" yelled Chloe.

Scorpion rolled her eyes pointing her gun at Chloe. "I grow tired of this." said Scorpion, shooting Maxine in the stomache instead.

The color in Chloe's face drained immediately as she grabbed hold of Max's body. "MAX!"

Max felt like everything was happening in slow motion now. "C-Chloe….I don't…..wa-want to di-die…."

Chloe's hands were drenched in Max's blood. "You idiot I'm bulletproof," said Chloe picking Maxine up running back towards the car. Luckily for them, Rachel and Nathan were already there with Bella and Loki. Rachel gasped. "What the fuck happened!?" she asked, elevating Max's head on her legs.

Chloe kept the pressure on Maxine's wound. "I'll explain when we get to the hospital."

David drove like hell to get Maxine to the hospital. Driving in and out of traffic breaking every law to avoid a car was easy for him being in the military he had to avoid land mines all the time. Maxine was rushed into the ER the moment they took her in. Chloe paced the whole time having already been through something like this with Rachel she was hoping she'd never have to do it again. Loki and Bella got treated for their injuries, nothing major. Bella had a fracture in two separate spots.

Scorpion and Eliot were arrested shortly after Maxine got into the hospital, reports of shots fired in the nearby area plus with the fact that Maxine had a gunshot wound, it didn't take long to put two and two together. Joyce showed up with Rota and Gondul. Victoria and Kate were there as well, Rachel had texted Kate that Maxine was in the hospital. So, they came to see if she was going to be okay.

Rachel wrapped her arms around Chloe's waist. "Baby she'll be fine."

Chloe stopped pacing. "I just felt like I was going to implode when you were here. I didn't want Maxine to get hurt either."

Rachel nodded. "I know just sitting."

Chloe did just that she sat next to Rachel holding onto her hand tightly. Bella and Loki returned to the waiting room after they got their check-up. Rota hugged her tightly while they walked over to Rachel and Chloe. "This is all my fault," said Bella.

Chloe and Rachel shook their heads. "No, this isn't your fault," said Chloe.

Bella frowned looking down on the ground. "But if I was paying attention I wouldn't have gotten knocked out."

Nathan placed a hand on her shoulder. "This is all on us. We put you in danger by not telling you why we were at the park. Don't blame yourself."

Bella still frowns but nodding anyways she didn't want to see her mommy die. This was the first time she had a family that cared about her. She didn't want that to fall apart when it barely began.

Maxine hovered within a white mist she glanced around then she remembered getting shot. She got to her feet when she saw the Raven King sitting at a table. Confused, she walked over to sit across from him. "Am? Am I dead?"

The Raven King glanced at her. "Didn't I say getting Max would need to take God-like powers?" he asked Maxine nodded. "It takes more than a bullet to kill a God, Maxine."

Maxine tilted her head. "Then why is it that I feel like I'm dying?"

The king shrugged. "That's up to you. Your body is still getting used to being a God so taking a bullet, you were thinking in our mortal mind."

Maxine shook her head. "I wasn't thinking like a mortal. Max took control when Eliot pointed the gun at Chloe. I didn't do any of that. She's still the one that's technically mortal so when she was controlling me I started bleeding."

The King nodded. "I have someone you should meet," he said.

Maxine glanced behind him seeing William and Rose. Maxine hugged both of them. "William, you don't know how happy I am to see you. Even if it is in an unusual place."

William smiled. "Max, you cannot stay here."

Maxine nodded. "I-I know but….I tried to save you but that only made things worse for Chloe."

William sighed. "I know you did Max. But you need to get back to Chloe and Rachel. Get back to your girls."

Maxine choked back tears. "I….I should've done so much more for you."

Rose caressed Maxine's cheek. "I wish I could've met you before I died Max. William has told me a lot about you. Please, keep my Rachel safe. Now get out of here."

Maxine sniffled. "I-I will. William ...Rose...watch over us okay."

Chloe, Rachel, Rota, and Bella sat around Maxine. Ryan and Vanessa came into Maxine's hospital room Chloe and Rachel held her hand tightly. Seeing a bandage around Maxine's belly Vanessa glared at the two girls. "Are you two happy? You nearly got my baby girl killed!"

Chloe got up from her chair grabbing Vanessa by the shirt collar. "This isn't our fucking fault! She was shot by Scorpion, mind you the girl that drove her into a deep depression that nearly cost her, her life! Which would have never happened had you let her stay with me after my father's funeral!" growled Chloe.

Rachel placed a hand on Chloe's lower back. "Chloe….this isn't the time nor place for this."

Chloe swallowed hard letting go of Vanessa. "It happened so fast I didn't get the chance to stand in front of her. It should've been me to take the bullet."

Rachel kissed Chloe's hand. "It's not your fault baby."

Ryan glanced at Maxine. "I always knew you were a destructive person Chloe but I never thought you'd put her in danger."

Chloe wasn't going to argue with them there was no point to, they hated her the moment they became friends she walked back over to Maxine. Maxine started to glow a bright white before regaining consciousness. "Urrrrgh….next time….you catch the bullet," said Maxine pointing at Chloe.

Chloe sighed. "I thought I lost you! I thought I got you killed."

Maxine placed a hand on her cheek. "It takes more than a bullet to kill a God. Ugh what happened to Eliot and Scorpion?" she asked.

Rachel kisses her forehead. "They got arrested after Scorpion shot you. Arrested for kidnapping, child endangerment, and for attempted murder."

Bella and Rota climbed up on the bed hugging Maxine. "Ugh, careful I'm still healing."

Bella dropped her head on Maxine's chest. "Don't scare us like that again….please."

Maxine kissed her forehead. "Not a chance. What about you? How are you doing?"

Bella shrugged. "I'm in a better condition than you. My leg's just broken."

Maxine chuckled. "Oh so now you're shading me I see how it is."

Rota snuggled into Maxine's shoulder. "I thought I lost Bella. I didn't need to lose you too mommy."

Maxine smiled, taking hold of Rota's hand. "You can't get rid of me that easily. Umm Chloe could you get our rings from my pocket."

Chloe reached in Maxine's pocket sliding the ring on Maxine's finger as she put her back on. "What do you mean by 'it takes more than a bullet to kill a God?" asked Ryan.

Maxine chuckled. "Oh yeah that's right you didn't know. M-Max can try explaining this for me? Can't fully say it." asked Maxine.

Max split apart from Maxine, Rota and Bella hugged Max. "Hey, there little ones. For starters, I am from a different timeline. You already know that," said Max. "I was from a timeline where I lost everyone. Mark Jefferson killed Rachel and Nathan….Chloe was shot, and you died in a car crash. I wasn't friends with Nathan in that timeline. He didn't get the help he needed. He accidentally shot Chloe when I got the power to rewind time. We set off in search of what happened to Rachel. I fucked up so much that I caused a storm... The only way to fix everything was to let Chloe die. I had already seen her get killed multiple times already. I couldn't let her sacrifice herself for my fuck ups. I had nothing to go back to if I let her die. Maxine saved me from that hell. To bring me here right now, she had to ascend. The Raven King that gave me….us our powers told her that she needed to become a God to save me because that would be breaking time and space so that's what she did to help me. Now, Rachel, Chloe, Nathan, and even Warren are Gods as well. After a while, the Raven King released his powers, which is how certain people can be born with powers now."

Maxine got up from her hospital bed. "Bella is one of the few that has been gifted as well as her girlfriend, Loki. Also, Daniel."

Chloe held Maxine up. "Is it safe for you to be up?"

Maxine nodded. "I just need to heal. If Katros can stab himself and still live I can get shot and still walk."

Rachel chuckled. "So, you're a Harry Potter, Kingdom Hearts, and God of War nerd, is there something else we're missing?"

Max smirked. "You do realize she's an emo right?"

Maxine glared at her counterpart. "Hey just because you're a hippie doesn't mean you get to diss my fashion style. And for your information, I am an emo-Goth with a bit of a scene in me."

Rota tilted her head. "Ummm mommy what's the scene?"

Maxine smiled. "I can explain that more at home. Ummm how did we even get here?" asked Maxine.

Rachel looped her arm around one of Maxine's arms. "David drove like hell to get you here. Nathan's still here he could take us back home," said Rachel.

Maxine nodded. "Maybe we could spend the night at Nathan's anyways. We still need to get the door fixed. I feel safer sleeping in a house with a working lock."

Chloe chuckled. "I wouldn't mind that either. Plus it's safer for the girls."

Vanessa crossed her arms. "Why don't you stay with us? I would like to keep an eye on you, Maxine."

Max and Maxine glared at her. "All offense we don't want to be with you after what you pulled at the party after we introduced the girls into the family plus my proposal to Razor Blade and Kuda. You think I will go back with you," said Maxine.

Max walked over to Maxine placing a hand on her shoulder nodding as she fused back into her counterpart. "Well we don't even know this Nathan kid and you're our only daughter," said Ryan.

Bella stood behind Rachel's leg. "I don't want to go with them, mama. Please tell me we're not going with them."

Rachel kneeled down to her. "We will do whatever mommy wants. After all, it's her recovery."

Nathan entered the hospital room with Warren, Loki, and Chris. "Maxine, you're okay! Thank the Gods! You lost so much blood we didn't know if you'd make it." he said.

Maxine nodded. "You can't kill a God that easily."

Warren hugged Maxine gently. "The world wouldn't be the same without Maxine Caulfield. So, what are you guys going to do?"

Chloe sighed. "Well, we were wondering if we could stay with you guys for a bit. Until the door gets fixed."

Loki's eyes lit up, glancing between Warren and Nathan. "Daddy please can they stay the night! Bella and I haven't slept over each other's house since….well since her dad left…."

Warren and Nathan didn't say anything the three other girls knew what they meant though. Vanessa and Ryan kept trying to get Maxine to stay with them but it was no use; they got into a black Escalade that Nathan owned, driving away. Ever since Nathan stole money from his dad he bought himself a mansion out in the forest. It had multiple bedrooms and bathrooms. A home theater room, an arcade, a gym, and a large pool. "I had one of my butlers get your stuff from your house. You guys can just stay here. We have more than enough rooms," said Nathan.

The others were about to say something before Loki and Bella disappeared. Chris, Daniel, and Rota had already left them and they shook their heads. "Thanks, Nate. The girls love it," said Rachel.

Nathan smiled. "We need to stick together we're the only ones from Blackwell that have powers besides I think Loki would sleep better now that she knows her girlfriend has been adopted into a family that just so happens to hang out a lot."

Maxine crossed her arms. "So, how did you two come to adopt Chris, Daniel, and Loki?"

Warren sighed. "Daniel and Chris were playing together letting Loki join. They aren't related but they treat each other as family. Chris's father was an abusive alcoholic after his mother was killed in a hit-and-run accident. She went to Blackwell as well, apparently. Loki came out of a similar situation, in fact, it's a complete reverse of Chris. And as we said before Daniel's brother is in jail. From what Daniel has told us. Sean is innocent and there isn't much we can do to help him. Seattle PD thinks that he killed an officer after they shot their dad and Daniel's powers just made everything go woosh." explained Warren. "The boys are only ten years old and they know a lot. Loki's the same way, she's pretty sharp too."

Chris came running back into the living room dressed in his superhero outfit with Rota. Daniel was still drawing on his whiskers. "Dad can you play with us this one time, Captain Spirit needs a physical villain?" asked Chris.

Nathan chuckled. "I'm not one for games, bud. Maybe you can play with Maxine and Chloe. I heard they have their own characters."

Chris glanced over at Chloe. "We haven't officially met. I'm Chris. I like superheroes, drawing, and telling stories. Did you have a superhero name when you were a kid?" asked Chris.

Chloe kneeled down to Chris. "Nice to meet ye, Cap'n Spirit. I am known to those as Cap'n Bluebeard but to keep other pirates from stealing my ship with its treasures I have gone by th' name of Chloe Price."

Chris smiled. "I like you already. Do you have a superpower like papa and dad?"

Chloe nodded. "In fact, Chris I do. I have super strength and I am also bulletproof. Maxine can reverse time and Rachel can control fire and wind, we're suspecting she can control the elements."

Chris glanced at Rota. "Why didn't you tell me your mama could control the fire?"

Rota shrugged. "It didn't come up in conversation."

Rachel walked over to Chris. "Would you like to see how it works?" asked Rachel.

Chris nodded. "Really?"

Warren glanced at Rachel. "If you choose to show fire please take it in the backyard. The furniture is very expensive," said Warren. "And it's Nathan's favorite."

Rachel chuckled as she left through the back door with Chris, Maxine, and Chloe. Chris watched with glee as Rachel shot fire out of her hands. Daniel came out with his whiskers fully painted following Chris as he gestured for him to follow. Chris glanced at her. "Do you have powers too, Rota?" he asked.

Rota blushed. "I don't really know. Bella is the only one in the family that does. We're not even know if Gondul will have powers," said Rota.

Maxine placed a hand on Rota's shoulder. "Sometimes, having powers isn't what it's all cracked up to be. My time power caused so much suffering. Just know that if you do end up having powers, baby girl, use them right." explained Maxine.

Rota nodded. "I know mommy Bella taught me that the first time she used her powers to stop….her from hurting me," said Rota.

Chris asked Daniel to use his powers with Rachel as they were floating fireballs.

While half the group was outside. Nathan was cleaning up some of the stray toys that were scattered around the hallway. Just because he has a butler and maids doesn't mean he won't clean up too, he's better than his father. He walked past Loki's room where he heard her talking to Bella. "You ever wonder why our parents didn't love us?" she asked. Nathan stood next to the wall to hear the conversation a bit better.

Loki nodded, placing her head on Bella's shoulder. "All the time. I wish I was just enough for them."

Bella sighed. "Hmmm me too. I just feel empty sometimes…."

Nathan didn't know what to do. He felt bad that his daughter felt unloved by her mother but what can he do? That part of her will always feels that way no matter what. He learned that from personal experience with his dad, he never loved him. He knocked on her door. "Hi dad," said Loki.

Nathan walked over to sit on the ground across them. "What are you girls doing?"

Bella shrugged. "Nothing really uncle Nathan you want to play with us?"

Nathan nodded. "Sure, what were you playing?" he asked with a smile.

Loki moved to grab some of her favorite stuffed animals: a wolf, a panther, and a whale. "You can be the whale daddy," said Loki.

Nathan smiled. "I would love to be the whale."

Bella had placed the wolf and panther together leaving the whale out for a while. "The panther was so lonely but then the wolf came into her life. Making it feel like it was worth everything…"

Nathan sat on the floor playing with Bella and Loki. Meanwhile, Rachel was showing Chris her firepower. The boy was really excited to see it. Maxine and Chloe smiled as they watched. They knew how Rachel love being the center of attention it didn't matter where it was coming from she always loved entertaining.

Rachel smiled. "Now I don't do this very often but for you Chris I will show you," she said as she created a flame in her hand.

Chris's jaw dropped. "Cool, can I touch it?"

Rachel extinguished the flame. "That wouldn't be a good idea, little guy. It's still on fire."

Chris smiled. "That is so cool though. I wish I had powers."

Maxine slowly walked over to Chris placing a hand on his shoulder. "I don't think you'd really want powers. I got shot. Now, that might not have anything to do with my powers but if I wasn't in pain I could've rewinded time to prevent it from happening. But I nearly caused a storm to destroy Arcadia Bay, you're better off being normal." she explained.

Chris frowned for a second but nodded. "Okay, I understand what you're saying. Powers come with consequences that make sense. That's why every superhero has a code they try to live by." he said

Daniel placed his arm around Chris's shoulder. "That's okay you can always pretend you're controlling things when I move things around like how we did back at your place."

Rota tugged on Maxine's pant leg. "Does that mean people will try to hurt you again?"

Chloe kneeled down in front of their daughter. "Rota, we're not gunna lie there's a possibility however we will make sure it doesn't happen."

Rota nodded. The rest of them walked back into the house Rota, Daniel and Chris went off to play with each other again trying to see if Loki or Bella wanted to join them. Leaving Chloe, Maxine, and Rachel by themselves the three decided to go into their room that Nathan and Warren gave them.

Upon opening the door, they were met with a well-decorated room. There was a bed big enough for the three of them. Maxine's Harry Potter collection was on display as well as all the polaroid pictures she's taken over the years. Both Rachel and Maxine's cameras were carefully placed on their own shelf. Their game system was neatly tucked away in an entertainment center with glass magnet doors with the back knocked off to provide air flow. Chloe helped place Maxine in the center of the bed being the smallest of the three she just fit better there.

Despite the fact that she is the same height as Rachel since she didn't have curves it made it easier for her to be in the middle without having anyone fall off the bed. She was okay with this. It helped her sleep knowing that she was next to both her wives and kept the nightmares at bay.

Rachel helped take off Maxine's shirt. "How are you feeling?" she asked as she gently touched the bandage around Maxine's belly.

Maxine groaned. "I could be better. Thanks for taking off my shirt. It feels better to let the bandage breathe. C-Can you take off my pants too. It's making it slightly hard to breathe." she said with a blush. Maxine was really embarrassed she couldn't undress herself.

Chloe unbuttoned her pants, sliding them off, throwing them in the hamper. Leaving Maxine laying there in nothing more than her bra and panties. Usually, this would be the point where Chloe and Rachel would start getting handsy with her but with her gunshot wound they had to be extra careful. "Little Doe, can I ask you something?" asked Rachel.

Maxine nodded. "Of course Razor Blade you can ask me anything."

Rachel placed her hand on Maxine's hand. "How come your parents don't like Chloe?"

Maxine sighed. "Errr ...I'm not really sure. They never wanted me to bring Chloe to the house which is why I spent so much time at hers. Mom always had stupid rules that drove me crazy. She always made excuses on why Chloe couldn't stay. I think mom and dad didn't really like Joyce and William." explained Maxine.

Chloe frowned. "I didn't realize how bad it really was. You always seem to be cheerful."

Maxine placed a hand on Chloe's. "I had to be. I didn't want to ruin what...ugh...little time we had together before I left. Ouch okay, can one of you move me to the couch over there? The slightest pressure on my wound hurts. And I know how much you two are about cuddling." said Maxine.

Chloe picked Maxine up, placing her on their couch in their master bedroom. Placing a pillow behind Maxine's head while pulling a blanket over her Maxine almost fell asleep instantly but not before she let Max split apart from her. "Max keep my spot on the bed warm. And keep these two companies," she said with a wink.

Max blushed a deep red knowing exactly what Maxine was talking about. It had been a while since she did anything with the pair. She mostly stayed in her own little corner when that happened. Respecting Maxine's privacy she never watched because even though they are the same person in different ways she didn't want to invade that special moment for her. Max has taken more of a back seat role since she gave Maxine her timeline back. She was more than content since she got to have Chloe back in her life again.

Rachel smiled. "I mean only if you want Max," she said.

Max blushed. "I wouldn't be against it…."

Chloe chuckled. "There you go, Max. Starting to be more adventurous," she said, taking off Max's shirt.

She smiled as she got up to reapply her bandage. She walked down the hall to go check on Gondul. Maxine smiled as she watched Gondul sit up in her crib. Gondul giggled as she clapped her hands seeing Maxine.

Maxine smiled. "Morning, my baby girl. Gondul can you say, mommy?"

Gondul tilted her head. "Ommy."

Maxine kissed Gondul's forehead. "Very good baby girl." she cooed.

Maxine picked up their baby girl to change her diaper. Gondul smiled as she was happy to be clean. She squawked with a smile. Maxine walked downstairs placing her in the playpen as she was continuing to teach her how to walk. Gondul stood as she started to wobble. Maxine holds her in place for a bit until she realizes that she can stand. Placing one foot in front of the other she actually started walking.

Maxine smiled. "There you go baby girl," she said.

Gondul clapped. She glanced over to see her favorite person. Her smile disappeared when she saw Loki helping Bella get down the last few stairs. "Bell?" she said.

Bella smiled. "Hey, Gon. You're starting to talk again?"

Maxine raised an eyebrow. "She's talked before?"

Loki sighed. "Yeah, she started making sentences till she was scared not to. She used to make full sentences with her broken English."

Gondul tilted her head. "Bell-Bell hurt?"

Bella nodded. "I'll be okay."

Gondul frowned. "Me not like Bell-Bell hurt," said Gondul.

Maxine smiled. "Bell-Bell?"

Bellatrix blushed. "She still has trouble pronouncing my name. So, she'll either call me Bell-Bell or just Trix. She sometimes just says Atrix, which is kinda embarrassing out in public when people don't know your name is Bellatrix."

Gondul huffed. "You meanie."

Loki kneeled down in front of her. "Gon, she's not being mean. You just got to work on your words and pronunciations. You're smarter than most kids I've seen understand full complete sentences."

Gondul smiled. "Powers!"

Maxine raised an eyebrow. "She is serious about that."

Bella shrugged. "Gondul and Rota still have yet to show signs of being powered. Who knows, Gondul can have a power right now and we just don't know," she said.

Gondul crawled to Bellatrix placing her hands on the cast and a bright white light glowed as Bellatrix could start to feel her bone coming back into place. "She can heal!?"

Gondul smiled. "Did you do well?"

Bellatrix hugged her baby sister. "Yes, you did very well. You're gunna be a superstar."

Maxine looked in shock. "Hey, Gon, can you try to do the same with me here," she asked, placing her palm on her belly.

Gondul nodded as she placed her hands on Maxine's belly. The same white light glowed. Maxine could feel the blood on the bandage go back into her body as well as feel the hole close up. She smiled, picking Gondul up, placing a big kiss on her forehead. "Chloe and Rachel are going to be so happy when we show them what she can do," said Maxine with a grin.
