So it's longer than any other chapter. [I don't know if there will be another one this long] I was writing and I just couldn't stop or find a breaking point so instead of forcefully splitting it into two different chapters I'll just post the whole thing. Also sorry about no update last week. I feel kind of tense posting.

Chapter Thirty-Nine: Traitor in Question

(Tai's P.O.V)

I don't know how I still remember the directions or anything but I looked at the building that I had been brought to by the former DigiDestined of Light, Kain Shuji. Something was bugging me now. Something wasn't right. Izzy nudged me so I glanced at him. He came with me this time because perhaps he'll notice something that I would miss or see something that he could make sense of without it having to be explained.

"You sure this is the place Tai?" I nodded.

"Yeah, I'm surprised I figured out how to get here by foot." Kain had driven me here last time yet something bugged me.

Today when Kain wasn't ushering me along so fast I could clearly see the building. It looked so run down and looked like it should be torn down. Yet the inside had looked new and in perfect condition. It was even in the less visited part of town. For a secret branch of the government it didn't look very well guarded. I took a deep breath as I walked forwards, Izzy followed me but he was looking around.

"Something isn't right." So I wasn't crazy and Izzy sensed it too.

"I know." I opened the door and sure enough it was the right building.

When I opened the door it revealed a well maintained waiting room. The person at the desk looked up when the door opened. The lady gave us a smile.

"How may I help you two?" I hadn't heard her speak the last time I was here so I was surprised to hear her voice, it sounded a bit mechanical.

"Oh we were wondering if we could talk to Kain Shuji." Izzy spoke as he stepped forward but when he did I saw a faint purplish glow light up the doorway.

"Sorry DigiDestined of Knowledge but there is no one named Kain Shuji that works here." Izzy stopped and the overwhelming sense of something being wrong just got stronger.

How did she know that Izzy was the DigiDestined of Knowledge? Also why would she tell us that Kain didn't work here? He showed me in and even greeted her when he ushered me in, she had nodded back in greeting. She clearly knew him.

"The former DigiDestined of Light, Kain Shuji, he brought me here last time." The lady's smile came back.

"Oh you mean Skylar Hallows." I looked at Izzy and he looked at me.

He told us his name was Kain Shuji. Why would he lie to us? Why wouldn't he give us his real name? Something didn't add up.

"He told us that his name was Kain." The lady gave a laugh which also sounded a bit mechanical.

"That's just like Skylar; he rarely gives his real name. He's supposed to be dead in this world." Why do I have the sudden urge to run?

"What do you mean he's supposed to be dead?" Before the lady could say anything else her eyes faded and out of nowhere came another lady.

I had met her briefly last time. Her hair was a dark blue, nearly black, and her eyes were a bright blue. She wore a white lab coat and she had her arms crossed. She didn't seem very happy for some reason.

"What business do you two have here? How did you even find this place?" She narrowed her eyes at us.

"We were hoping to talk to Kain or whatever his real name is. Kain brought me here before; I just managed to remember the way." She brightened up slightly but something bothered me about her.

"Ah you're the current DigiDestined of Courage, Taichi Kamiya right?" I nodded.

"Sorry about the greeting, it's not often that DigiDestineds find us." I caught sight of a device on her wrist when she moved her arms but it was quickly covered by the lab coat again.

"As to your question he was supposedly killed by his sister's husband but Yune saved him but only because she had one of her friends help him." She didn't say it directly but it was easy to figure out that Yune's 'friend' was a Digimon.

"Oh." Who was Kain Shuji then?

"Anyways, Skylar's busy currently if you need help you can ask me. I'm Amaya, the former DigiDestined of Knowledge." Izzy was going to say something but I placed a hand on his shoulder.

"No, we were just wondering if Skylar could tell us anything about the fight that's all." Amaya gave another smile but Izzy gave me a questioning look.

"It's going just fine. The seven Runners that are fighting are doing just fine; they've yet to make contact with the Demon Lords." I could tell that nothing she just said was true.

"Thanks we'll be on our way; don't worry about telling Skylar that we came by?" She nodded.

"Don't worry we barely talk anyways, Skylar's usually off doing business anyways." With that I took a step back and out of building.

Izzy followed and the door closed. Once it was closed I turned and began to walking away quickly. Izzy had to jog to catch up and to keep up. One thing that most hated about my fast walk since I play soccer it's faster than most people's speed walk.

"Why didn't you ask her about your uncle? She could've helped us just as much as Skylar." I shook my head.

"Nah, something ain't right there. Don't tell me you don't find it slightly odd that he introduces himself as Kain Shuji to us and he told us he had no siblings?" Amaya clearly stated he had a sister.

"Well yeah that's kind of odd but you heard her, he's supposed to be dead." I sighed.

"It doesn't sit well with me Izzy." I'm surprised that Izzy didn't find it odd like I did but then again I'm going with a feeling when he's probably going by logic and logic is on their side.

"So who are we going to ask about your uncle?" I began to slow down.

"Obviously we'll go with my original idea, we just ask him." Izzy groaned.

"Tai, if he's really a traitor and we ask him then they'll know that we're onto them. We can't ask him." I really hated how Izzy goes by logic half the time in these situations.

"You don't get it Izzy; my mom told me more about him." I stopped and gave Izzy a look that made him stop.

"From what she told me he wouldn't do what Gennai said without a good reason. Something happened that day that he doesn't know about. It's not logical but I just know there is something that is missing. Someone somewhere is hiding something." Maybe I'm biased.

My mom told me how her brother wouldn't betray his friends. He put his friends before himself and actually once protected one of his friends and nearly died doing so. I couldn't see someone who would risk dying to save one of his friends just turning their back on them.

"What did your mom tell you that makes you so sure?" I sighed before beginning to walking again.

"She told me that he nearly sacrificed himself to save one of his friends." I could hear Izzy following behind me.

"Someone who would betray his friends wouldn't save one; he would've let them die." Thing is where would we find him?

"I guess you're right there." Considering the circumstances is it bad that I feel good about actually hearing Izzy admit that something I said is right since I'm usually corrected by him?

"I still don't think it's a good idea to ask him directly." I rolled my eyes.

So the walk back to my apartment was filled with either arguing about how to go about learning the truth of what Gennai said or just silence when one of us got fed up with the other. The argument always started back up though.

"I'm telling you we should just find another way Tai!" Izzy was annoyed enough that he actually raised his voice as I opened the door to my apartment.

"I'm telling you it would just be easier to ask my uncle!" Izzy kicked the door shut.

"And I'm trying to tell you that, that isn't a good idea! If he's really an apostate you don't know what'll happen should they find out that we're onto them!" I groaned.

Ok note to self don't get into an argument with Izzy. He makes a lot of good points and he uses really words that I don't know the meaning of. I mean what the hell does apostate mean!? Seriously I think he does this on purpose!

"What the hell does apostate even mean!" Can't he use words that I know?

"Tai watch your language!" I sighed hearing my mom suddenly butt in.

"Also it means traitor which I'm not." Both Izzy and I froze hearing that.

I looked over my shoulder and Izzy looked around me. My uncle stood beside my mother with his arms crossed. Well I guess finding him was easier than I thought it would be. I guess since my mother learned about what happened she decided to either forgive him or at least let him explain what happened.

"W-well I wasn't saying you were one." Izzy seemed a bit worried but then again we have no clue what the former DigiDestined could do or who their partners were or are.

"Don't worry, I get why you would consider me one." My mother gave him a look.

"Why would you be called a traitor?" Hiro sighed and crossed his arms.

"How about we sit down and I'll explain what actually happened that day, I'll tell you about what I know about what's going on now." He knows more about what's happening with Kari.

"Is Kari ok?" He looked at me.

"Gennai said that one of them was dead." I watched as my mom covered her mouth and she paled.

"Kari's alive as is my son; the one who died is Evan Aleister." So someone actually did die.

"Is there a way to get Kari back here?" Mom gave him a pleading look but I could guess why, she wanted Kari back here where it was safe.

"Even if there was Mrs. Kamiya, I don't think it would be the best idea to bring her back." Izzy seemed hesitant to say it.

"She shouldn't be fighting in such a dangerous place Izzy!" My mom probably would've said more but Hiro placed a hand on her shoulder.

"Kari's better off there. The Demon Lords are actually hunting her, if she was separated from them she would become an easy target to them." I froze hearing that, they're hunting her?

"Even if they weren't at full power five years ago Lucemon acknowledges them. Kari, Takuya, and their two friends were able to defeat them five years ago. If they find out how to they could actually defeat them." Hearing him say that surprised me.

"You're the first to say that they have any hopes of defeating them." Everyone has been speaking as if they have no hope.

"Of course I believe they can do it. Not only would I hate to think the opposite would happen but unlike all of the past times they've been fought they have something the others didn't have." That caught me by surprise.

"From what we've heard from Skylar is that they don't have what the others did." I noticed he flinched when he heard the name Skylar come from me.

"Skylar? Wait but I thought he defected back then." That's two different things now.

"Didn't that Amaya chick say that he was supposed to be dead?" Izzy sounded confused but I saw Hiro looked a bit alarmed.

"You two met Amaya?" I nodded.

"Izzy insisted that we asked Kain instead of you so we went to that building but we were told his name was Skylar and he was supposed to be dead here." Hiro scowled.

"Stay away from those people." That surprised us.

"Hiro?" He groaned but my mom was confused.

"Amaya told Gennai and the Digital Rulers that I betrayed them all those years ago but what I did saved us from dying. I offered myself up as a sacrifice back then. Beelzemon was going to kill us because the seal that Yune cast had five keys, each key was a person. To free Lucemon they had to kill those five people." He closed his eyes and placed a hand on his head.

"One could simply release the key that they held as well but no one in their right mind would've just released that key." My mom bit her lip.

These things don't add up. I'm not stupid but I'm getting lost now. What the heck is the truth and what isn't? Is Hiro speaking the truth or is he a traitor? Did Kain/Skylar speak the truth or did he lie? Then again is the truth somewhere between the lies perhaps? Or is everyone lying? Ow my head is starting to hurt again.

"I'm going out." My mom cut off whatever Hiro was about to say.

"Yuuko?" My mom shook her head.

"I'm worried about Kari enough. I want to know but for once I understand why you didn't want me to know everything, at times it better to stay ignorant of the truth. I'm going to go and talk to Rani." I was confused on whom Rani was since she never mentioned anyone named Rani yet I watched as she was quick to leave.

"Who's Rani?" Hiro sighed.

"One of her old friends, Yuuko went to the Digital World with us while she wasn't actually a DigiDestined but Rani was they made friends because they're the same age." It was odd hearing my mother's name since I didn't hear it often but I brushed it off.

"What did she mean?" He shook his head and went towards the living room, we followed him.

"Yuuko is a very worrisome person, she worries easily. When she was younger she used to act rather rashly when something happened to her friends even though half of the time she couldn't actually do anything." I saw Izzy shoot me a look.

"That reminds me of someone." I glared at Izzy.

"Hey! I resent that Izzy, I mean I was a bit reckless but I always had good intentions and it worked out half the time!" He rolled his eyes while Hiro laughed slightly.

"Yeah that's because Matt had your back half the time." I hate what Izzy's implying.

"Things are about to become chaotic so it's best you guys learn the truth." It was only after a few moments that Hiro spoke, we both looked at him.

"What do you mean by that?" He sat down and getting that this was going to be a long story or explanation we sat down.

"Belphemon came here for a reason, I don't know what reason it was but it's probably safe to assume that soon enough some form of attack will happen." I sighed hearing that.

"Is it bad that I'm glad to hear that to know that I can at least do something in this battle other than sit back and just leave everything to Kari?" I wanted to be fighting with them; I wanted to do something in this battle even if it is just taking on their army.

"I understand that, in truth I myself have been itching to do something. I hate having to leave everything to Takuya." I noticed that from the corner of my eye that Izzy pulled out his laptop.

"I wouldn't use that." Izzy stopped.

"Why not?" Izzy loved his computer.

"You hacked them and Amaya hates being hacked. Everything you do on that is visible to her now. Nothing is a secret from Amaya as long as you use that computer." Hearing that surprised me, Skylar had helped us even if he had lied to us about his name so maybe he was meaning just Amaya.

"Aren't they our allies?" I watched Hiro shake his head.

"No, Amaya is definitely our enemy." Great, we rely on Izzy's computer skills and he can't do much without his laptop.

"Why do you say that?" Hiro placed his head in his hands.

"Amaya is how Lucemon gets around the worlds so easily." My hands curled into fists hearing that.

"Amaya doesn't know that I know about her act. She's been to many worlds far more advanced than this one, she's brought together what she knows and she's began to create things. She worked out how to allow Lucemon to control even the strongest willed Digimon." She was the enemy that we had to watch out for here in the Human World then.

"So wait, everything I have on my computer she has access to?" Izzy was pale and I had a bad feeling.

"Yeah why?" Don't tell me he had something really important on there!

"I have everything I know about this world's Digital World on here, a log about our adventure and information about what I've found about our crests and other things that could be disastrous in our enemy's hands." I always had a feeling his records would come back to haunt us one day.

"Not to mention the results that I have about the experiments I had done on the Digivices and the D3s; also how to open a Digital Gate from any computer and my recent attempts at opening a Digital Gate without a computer." Oh this won't be good.

"Amaya has probably yet to look through your computer files so we probably have a small bit of time before she looks but she'll notice you being active on it. She'll just recover the files if you delete them too." I smiled when I got an idea.

"Why not just transfer everything to a flashdrive? Don't delete them just move everything, wouldn't that work?" I didn't really get an answer besides Izzy start digging in his laptop bag, I'm taking it that it's at least worth a shot.

"I don't know if that'll work but it's at least worth an attempt but ditch the computer." Izzy grumbled about it, especially hearing how Hiro spoke of 'ditching the computer', but I knew he would get rid of it or at least put it away not to be used until everything was over.

"So anything else we should know?" Hiro sighed.

"Skylar or as you originally called him Kain, he's questionable. Back when we were younger he was good but since I met back up with him recently I'm starting to rethink that. Granted he might just be waiting for a chance to strike in the Demon Lord confusion and not working with them I don't know." I doubt he would work with the Demon Lords even if it meant death.

"I doubt he would be working with them. He had dated Yune but she died sealing Lucemon." I saw Hiro give a rather questionable look to Izzy at his words.

"What do you mean? Yune didn't die sealing Lucemon. She was one of the keys; she died when Daemon attacked her." Something wasn't right.

"Weren't you there that day when I told him about Belphemon attacking us?" He nodded.

"I made that comment because I know Skylar blames himself about what happened to Yune. He had asked Yune to go to meet a Runner that turned out to be Daemon. He's blamed himself all of these years. What did he tell you guys?" He's an enemy then.

"He told us that he and Yune had been dating and they had gone on a mission. That they were nearly done with it when they ran into Lucemon and Yune gave up her life to seal him away but it only worked for a few years before he was back." Hiro shook his head.

"I guess I should tell the story of how it happened then. Now trust me please, this is the truth. I wouldn't lie when it comes to something like this where my own family is fighting." He sounded like he was begging almost.

"We first learned of the Digital World during an accident, we ended up there in the dead of night. We were all reported kidnapped, that's how when we came out no one ever questioned us really. No one learned about the Digital World." That goes against what Skylar said about the government knowing then.

"We fought our battles and we managed to get through it all, a few of us carry some scars and some heavy memories but we made it out mostly fine. Yet not everything was all said and done once we defeated the last enemy." When he paused I remember an old question.

"Hey, your group was the one who fought Apocalymon right? How did you guys defeat him?" I remember wondering how they managed that one.

"Apocalymon, wow it's been a while since I last thought of him. The two Hiros took care of him while the others offered back up." I noticed something.

"Hiros you mean Heroes?" He laughed and shook his head.

"Nope, me and Hiroaki, it was kind of fun since most of the time we were both called Hiro." Wait, why does the name Hiroaki sound familiar?

"Our whole group was able to reach Mega Level and by the time we faced Apocalymon we knew how to use the crests and even how to get our partners to Digivolve without the crests. Apocalymon took them from us at the end but with Ukiyo's trick we managed to retain one crest, we put all of our hope into my partner." That even got Izzy to look from his computer.

"Everyone had access to Mega Level?" Hiro nodded.

"Yeah it was really helpful. Ukiyo and Piedmon really saved our butts too." I was stunned hearing him say Piedmon.

"Piedmon as in the clown like Digimon?" I couldn't believe it when he nodded.

"Yelp he was a big help. Ukiyo was the DigiDestined of Sincerity by the way." I couldn't believe what I was hearing, wait it has to be a coincidence.

"I'll tell you about the others too, it probably is important." He laughed to himself while I was still on the fact that he worked with Piedmon, well hopefully a different Piedmon than the Dark Master Piedmon.

"There was Hiroaki who was the DigiDestined of Friendship and his partner Leomon, Yuki was the DigiDestined of Love and her partner was Puppetmon." Hearing the two Digimon in one sentence almost made me flinch.

Leomon and Puppetmon worked together once? They were enemies though but then again it might be completely different Leomon, Puppetmon, and Piedmon that I know. I mean maybe it could be the same Leomon since Leomon was all pro DigiDestined and helped us.

"Amaya worked with Datamon and she was obviously the DigiDestined of Knowledge and then there was Skylar his partner is Dragomon and he was the DigiDestined of Light." I noticed that he left out the DigiDestined of Reliability and Hope.

"What about Reliability and Hope?" He sighed and shook his head.

"Kazuya was the DigiDestined of Reliability, his partner was Whamon. Kazuya didn't make it through our first encounter with the Demon Lords." I froze hearing that, I knew what he meant.

"Rani was the DigiDestined of Hope. She was a runner for a number of years but then she stopped. Last time I saw her she told me she was going to stop because she was pregnant, that was about thirteen years ago." I was relieved hearing that, I thought that since he left her out that she was also dead.

"She was a rather funny Runner. She just wandered around the worlds helping to clean up after battles and tending to wounded DigiDestined and Digimon. Her partner, Cutemon, wasn't much of a combatant but was a healer." There was a Digimon that specialized in healing?

"What happened if she got attacked while traveling?" He shrugged.

"Don't know exactly but she was always traveling with Kaname, Kaname was the DigiDestined of Kindness and his partner." He stopped talking which confused me.

"Never mind you don't need to know about Kaname. He was good for a number of years but after an accident when out on a job he changed. I heard about it only recently but I heard he became evil." I was surprised hearing that.

Yet I also noticed something. In the first Generation there was a DigiDestined of Kindness. He started off good but turned evil which was the opposite of Ken who started off evil but turned good. I wonder if perhaps that's an accident or if it's hard to be the DigiDestined of Kindness?

"How can a DigiDestined be good or evil?" Hiro just looked at Izzy.

"Maybe the power goes to their head? They get corrupted? They get tricked? They're a puppet for a force that doesn't want show their selves? I don't know." Why did I think of Ken during his time as the Digimon Emperor for nearly all of those listed?

"Or maybe they think they're doing the right thing. Yune was like that like when we first met her." That surprised me.

"The way Skylar spoke made it sound like she was an original part of the group." He shook his head.

"No, Yune was the enemy that brought all of us together two years after we finished the fight with Apocalymon." She was the enemy?!

"From what we gathered the DigiDestined of Harmony was supposed to be the strongest." Hiro nodded.

"Yeah but Yune wasn't the DigiDestined of Harmony, she carried the title of DigiDestined of Darkness. Her partner was Lunamon." Why does Darkness have to have a DigiDestined?

"Yune was going world by world wiping out every Angelic Digimon she could get her hands on. At the time she knew that Lucemon, Daemon, and Lilithmon were Fallen Angelic Digimon and since she couldn't find them she figured they had DeDigivolved back into an Angelic Digimon. She erased a lot of Digimon out of existence hoping to destroy them before they got to their most powerful form." In her mind she was doing the right thing but to everyone else she was just killing what could be innocent Digimon.

"She was committing genocide while thinking it was right." At least he's using a word I know this time.

"Yeah, until she met us she didn't know that they had already taken the form. I had faintly seen Daemon back then before the battle started. With that goal no longer possible she enlisted our help. After all it wasn't often that she met DigiDestineds that stood a chance against her Digimon's Mega Form while our Digimon was able to combat it in one on one battles." They must've been really strong then.

"Anyways all of that is beside the point. Also stop listening to Skylar. Skylar and Yune didn't date in truth Yune couldn't stand Skylar and his whole attitude until she saved his butt he treated her rather poorly then he suddenly fell for her but by then Yune was already in love with Kazuya." Odd, he thinks Skylar could be evil and the one that Yune liked is dead.

"It wasn't long after that we first met and clashed with the Demon Lords, Kazuya actually died protecting Yune. Lucemon had gone after Yune because by then we believed she was the DigiDestined of Harmony and Lucemon didn't want to wait around to find out if she was or wasn't." That means that Lucemon is afraid of the DigiDestined of Harmony.

"Then again that's going by Lunamon's account; I wasn't there when it happened because I was trying to hold Lilithmon off at that time." There seemed to more but he was hiding something.

"That's not what you guys asked about though. What you guys wanted to know about the incident that involved me and Beelzemon." Izzy shut his laptop and took out the flashdrive.

"The incident that Gennai calls you a traitor for yet earlier you brought up 'keys'." He nodded.

"It was shortly after Yune used the power of her crest, it took a lot out of her and it shattered the Crest of Darkness. Since then the Crest of Darkness has not been seen or spoken of, there hasn't even been another DigiDestined of Darkness since in any world." I thought back to what I had read.

"But one of Kari's friend's, Koichi Kimura I think his name was, he's the DigiDestined of Darkness." He should know that since from what I understood Koichi lives in the same world as Takuya and is one of his friends.

"That's the thing, before him there was none for over twenty years. That's why I know that Kari's meant to be the DigiDestined of Harmony. It was said another Darkness would only resurface then." I also remembered something else that I heard.

"Kari's the Darkness of the Harmony though isn't she?" That surprised Izzy, I hadn't shared that fact with anyone else but Hiro nodded.

"It's also because of that she shares a better bond with the DigiDestined of Light Koji Minamoto than anyone else among that group and Koichi after that." I wonder if Kari knows that within the Harmony she's the Darkness.

"Anyways that day, I did technically betray them. I went with Beelzemon and told him that I would unseal Lucemon. No one could fight and everyone but Rani had their partner deleted by Beelzemon. I went with him so he would leave the others alone." Then he betrayed them but he did it to save them.

"You unsealed Lucemon?" He shook his head.

"Nah I ain't that stupid. At the time there were two keys missing. The five keys consisted of Lunamon, Coronamon, me and Yune herself. They assumed that Leomon had been the other key besides myself that was left." I watched Hiro smile, he seemed to act younger than he was but then again maybe it was because he was reliving good memories and blocking out the bad.

"I led Beelzemon away and I had one of my old friends meet up with me that day. She was a Runner at the time." I might not be as smart as Izzy but I picked up his shift from sounding rather happy to sad.

"What happened?" He just kind of stared at the coffee table, lost in thought.

"Her name was Shiki; she was once called the Loyal Runner. She carried a different kind of strength than any other Runner I had ever met." For some reason the name seemed nearly familiar, like I had heard it from somewhere before.

"Why was she called the Loyal Runner?" A small smile found its way onto Hiro's face at Izzy's question.

"She was known as the DigiDestined of Loyalty. It's a very rare trait to find. She was loyal to any and all of her friends. She was very dependable." So basically she was a DigiDestined of Reliability but just had a fancy title?

"Anyways back on track. You see Shiki had been to a lot of worlds and one such world she found out how to defeat the Demon Lords. We were originally meeting to talk but I managed to tell her the change of plans." Maybe it was because I wanted to hope they weren't unbeatable that my mind made the choice to believe that what he meant was that whoever Shiki was managed to kill Beelzemon.

"So wait, Beelzemon was killed that day?" He nodded his head.

"Yes, Shiki managed to kill Beelzemon." I smiled.

"The first bit of good news I've heard since I found out what was going on." Izzy nodded, agreeing with my words.

"That means that Kari has an actually chance of managing this right?" Hiro nodded.

"That's exactly what it means. They're not undefeatable, their harder than the regular bad guy but then again they've been around a long time so most plans won't work on them because they know what to expect in most plans." A thought popped in my head.

"So if they know how to counter plans why not just attack them with no clear plan?" Izzy and Hiro both gave me a look.

"There is a reason why they've been around this long Tai. You need some kind of plan to face them because going in with nothing could easily end up very bad." I sighed, geez if he knew what kind of plan that was needed he could've at least passed that information onto Kari or his son right?

"I said no clear plan; make it something they wouldn't even consider." I know they would need some kind of plan that's why I didn't say 'with no plan'.

"Wait, why is Beelzemon evil if he was defeated?" Hiro just shrugged and leaned back at Izzy's sudden question.

"I don't know maybe it's just in his code to be evil. Then again Lilithmon, Barbamon, and Lucemon were defeated as well. Maybe there is some kind of way you're supposed to defeat them to break their cycle?" My smile dropped as I realized it.

"You mean this fight could be meaningless. It could just get rid of them for a few years and then just repeat?" Izzy's voice seemed to shake for some reason as he asked the question, I don't know why it would but it did.

"It could be. It's possible that this is just something that will go on until the end of time. Maybe the Demon Lords were created to keep the number of worlds down." Just the thought made my stomach sick.

What kind of cruel joke would that be? I've heard that they were responsible to destroying worlds and everyone within those worlds. If they were created for that and people were drawn into a fight they believed they could fight, win and get rid of them only for it to be an endless fight? That's like laughing in everyone's face that ever fought them and lost something in their fight against the Demon Lords.

"Wait you left two things open-ended." Hiro glanced at Izzy and I wonder why he must phrase things differently at times.

"The first is who the fifth key was you just said that 'they assumed that Leomon had been the other key' also if you ever learned what Shiki found out." Hiro sighed at Izzy's points.

"You're the DigiDestined of Knowledge aren't you?" Izzy was taken aback by the sudden the question, probably not having expected it.

"Yeah he is he loves asking questions." Sometimes I think he asks too many questions.

"Hey I'm sitting right here, don't talk about me like I'm not here." I just sighed at Izzy's retort, why can't he just accept learning what he learned today and ask more questions later?

"I do not know who the fifth key was or is, Yune never told us who the fifth key was but I remember well when Lunamon said that they guessed wrong in passing when I met her a while after the accident." Something struck me.

"Was or is do you mean there might still be a lock on Lucemon?" Hiro nodded.

"He could not move with five locks and with what I know I bet he could move with one lock on him. Knowing he'll ask yes I released my key, I only did so though when my first son was born. I had escaped everything that dealt with being a Runner besides that when I faked my death. I wished to leave that behind and not drag my son into that." I could understand that, maybe not completely but if I think about if I had a choice of perhaps saving Kari from the whole Digital World stuff I would've tried.

"Also Shiki, I never learned about Shiki's way to kill them. I do know she once mentioned that 'the secret lay with the light' along with one of her friends who she called Snow." It confused me and I just decided to file it away and think about it at a later date.

"Did she mean a DigiDestined of Light?" That's when my brain kicked back into gear.

"Shiki didn't know any DigiDestineds of Light so it might've referred to something she found, I've been trying to figure it out for a while." The secret lay with the light; I wish I knew someone who was good with word puzzles.

"Izzy, you're good with puzzles so any ideas?" Izzy looked away from me at my question.

"I'm good with computer puzzles not so much word puzzles." I sighed but Hiro laughed.

"I don't think anyone will figure it out in truth Shiki was always reading books before she became a DigiDestineds and she read nearly every book she found on her travels throughout the worlds. She was pretty much a master at codes." Well then, that's helpful huh?

"Wait Lunamon mentioned a prophecy didn't she?" I don't know why that suddenly popped into my head.

"Ah yes, that prophecy. The one she spoke of is one that Yune and her merely told that wasn't the real prophecy. Neither of them really trusted my group but I can't blame them because they had questionable commitment." I just hung my head at his words.

"So was there even a prophecy?" I was done asking questions so I'll let Izzy ask to his heart's content.

"I'm not going to go with all of the odd terms that Lunamon told me because I seriously had to get Shiki to translate it for me." I laughed slightly at that, guess it had all of those fancy out of date terms in it.

"That's good because I probably would've asked for a translation anyways." Izzy somewhat nudged me but I just rolled my eyes.

"What it's true." Izzy just sighed while Hiro laughed.

"You two make me remember the friendship I had with Amaya back before whatever made her flip-flop sides." I flinched slightly hearing that and I even saw Izzy shift slightly.

"Anyways it basically said that eight people will fight in this battle, something about elements and some kind of tipping point." He grumbled towards the end.

"I can't remember it, why can't I remember it? I spent years trying to figure it out so why can't I remember it?" I sighed and just closed my eyes.

"So anyways, did it say how this battle would end?" He closed his eyes at my question; just tell me that I at least have something to believe in that means my sister will come home.

"I can't remember so I'm not going to say yes or no, I don't want to give false hope or take away hope." My shoulders fell but we all jumped when there was some kind of loud screeching sound.

It confused me and I was suddenly hyper away. Well I guess being afraid is good for some things. After realizing that there was no danger and the screeching decreased in volume I realized something. I was weary but I pulled out my Digivice from my pocket. I hissed and dropped it though the moment it was out, it was searing hot. I stared at my Digivice as did Izzy and Hiro; it was emitting an orange glow and the Crest of Courage was shown on the screen.

"Are they supposed to screech like that?" I asked the question even though I already knew the answer.

"That's a big no." Hiro went to grab it but to our surprise the orange glowed seemed to repel him; he was quick to pull his hand back the moment that the light touched his hand.

"I'm not even going to touch it." Izzy tilted his head as he spoke, getting a different view on it but I don't blame him considering since both Hiro and I got hurt by it.

So can I ask if my writing style is bad? I was writing a story with some of my friends and they said my writing sucked and that I had a lot of errors that needed to be fix [and that my whole writing style sucked]. So is it bad? Also am I drawing this out too much? [One of them also said that I draw things out more than needed] I feel kinda bad now after they said all they did. So I apologize if my writing really does suck and thanks to everyone who likes my story.
