So about not updating last week. I'm not going to lie, I actually forgot. It's been busy with school and after waking up so early day after day when I finally got down time I chose to take a much needed nap. Sorry about that. Hope you enjoy the chapter.

Chapter Forty Two: Contact

(Chrono's P.O.V)

"Punishing Storm!" I barely had time to think before I was jumping out of the way.

The tornado that formed was quick to where I had been but something surprised me, it turned and came at me. I saw a smirk cross her face and I narrowed my eyes. Her personality really was affected by their tainting her. I jumped out of the way but it turned once more and I rolled instead of just landing and I managed to get enough energy to form an arrow and it pierced the tornado. Thankfully that dispelled it yet it didn't make much farther than where the tornado had been.

"Tch, I really was thinking you would be the weakest link." I sighed and stood up since I had been crouched still.

"Don't underestimate me please; just because I'm peaceful doesn't mean that I can't fight." There was a reason why I could survive within the Digital World after all.

"Very well then, don't regret those words." I watched her as she moved.

I really hated fighting her. There were a few times that I had practiced against her and most of those times I ended up defeated and having to get healed. This time there would be nothing holding her back. She will be trying her best to achieve whatever the Demon Lords wish her to do. If they knew about the screen they might want me out of the picture or they might want to keep me because besides the Digital Ruler I'm the only one who knows how to work it.

"Laser Javelin!" She was quick with summoning it and launching the explosions.

I jumped to the side and held my hand out and I pushed the energy up and out. A barrier appeared that took three but I saw it crack. She wasn't the Head Guard for no reason. With the cloud of dust that was kicked up I used it to run to cover. I took shelter behind a pillar and took a deep breath.

"Aw hiding are you?" I closed my eyes and tried to think what to do.

I didn't have much strength thanks to the fact that I was still recovering. That and the 'mediums' weren't compatible with my style of fighting. They were meant for a close range fighter while I was a long-range fighter. I can't do much jumping around and dodging because it will only tire me out. I'll get tired long before she will. She was a battle hardened warrior.

"I would've thought that Chronomon and I taught you better than to run away. Then again isn't there someone here you want to protect?" My eyes opened and they widened as I stared the ground.

She wouldn't would she? She might be under their control but she wouldn't stoop that low would she? Would she abandoned our battle and go after them to flush me out? Even if it is a bluff what would I do? Their defenseless in their current state which means I have no other choice.

"You know, he was supposed to die you weren't supposed to save him Chrono." I peeked out from behind the pillar I was hiding behind.

The room was convenient for me but not so much for her. The ceiling was high and there were pillars of white holding the ceiling up yet I'm pretty sure the ceiling would be fine without them. There were bookcases surrounding the outer wall of the room with the occasional break for a map or some other kind of reference. In the middle of the room was a round device that came from the floor that projected a holographic globe representing the Digital World but it could be used to show the Human World as well. There was also the screen that allowed us to peer into other worlds but it actually was more of a hologram that could only be summoned a certain way.

"He's my friend!" She was surprised.

I couldn't see her eyes but I bet they were darting around trying to find me. After spending so much time in this room with Chronomon I learned how to make my voice echo yet I was surprised that it had been so steady. I didn't feel as confident as my voice sounded.

"Even now you use that your reason to fight huh? For your friends you'd live and die for." I watched as she reached for her sword.

"You're a noble girl Chrono I'll give you that." She turned towards the pillar that I was standing behind.

Please don't tell me she found me already. I don't have a plan for what to do yet. If only it was finished then this would be a lot easier. I need to think. Somewhere within her there had to be the part of her that I knew, the part of her that treated me like her child.

"Feral Sword!" My eyes widened as she slashed in my direction.

I barely even got to move before my body froze. I knew what this meant. She found me for sure and there was nothing that I could do like this. Feral Sword, it was an attack that froze the opponent and brought their vital functions to a halt. Unlike when she used it on a Digimon it froze me and it would slowly shut my body down. It would be a slow death.

"I found you Chrono." There had to be something!

I closed my eyes, it was one of the few things would respond to me like this. I tried to think of anything that could get me out of this. There had to be something. I could hear her approaching me and before I gave in something came to my head. It was from a couple of years ago. Chronomon once told me that in a time of need I had that. Chronomon had told me that within there was something sleeping. I knew what they he meant.

I took a deep breath and focused. I watched as markings appeared on my skin, they let off a red glow. It was something that was given to me by Chronomon. Storm and Evan were given the cards that give them their strength to fight against Digimon and I was given the ability to activate my blood. Chronomon once told me that I carried an anomaly in my blood.

"No matter what you do you won't be able to free yourself Chrono." My breath shuddered because of what flashed into my head.

It was a day from back when I was younger. It was the first battle that I had fought that hadn't been just practice or a friendly fight. I was terrified and I was trapped but I managed to figure out what to do and I was free. She might look like my friend but she wasn't and to save my friend I had to defeat her.

"Once I'm done with you I'll go and finish what they started." Oh no she won't, she won't touch him if I have anything to say.

The glow flickered and I felt control come back to me. I peeked out once again and saw her approaching and I narrowed my eyes. She won't touch any of my friends if I have any say it and I do. With a deep breath I ran from behind the pillar and at her. She faltered slightly; she was caught off guard seeing my moving. I faintly saw the flicker of her eyes, they were wide but it was only a passing sight before they were hidden again. It took a lot to do what I had done; I had created the blade of energy and impaled her.

"How did you manage it?" I just looked at her from the side of my eye.

"Those eyes of yours, they aren't the same huh? I see that's what was different from when you saved them from Lilithmon." The energy blade broke off but it still pulsed.

I retreated and I watched her. Something wasn't right. That should've had a great effect on her. Yet after a few moments I remembered that she was close to the holy type, she was Vaccine and a Virus Buster. My light doesn't have such a drastic effect on her like the Demon Lords or their common grunts.

"I was raised by Chronomon, the Digital Ruler that is often referred to as the strongest Digital Ruler. You should have access to the memories of the Valkyrimon of which knows me and you should know that while I may be timid you shouldn't threaten my friends." I watched her smirked, despite the data that was slowly leaking away she didn't seem to be bothered by my attack at all which irked me.

"The part that remembers you locked away most of her memories surprisingly." I smiled hearing that, she couldn't resist the curse but she did her best to help huh?

"I hope you'll pass along a message to them for me." I watched her as she took a step backwards well actually she nearly fell when she took the step and that's when I realized that she was just pretending that it didn't bother her as much.

"You know they can see everything that's going on don't you?" I still don't know what I'll do but I have to do something.

"I figured it out; there is only a few reasons why you would toy with me after all. If anything you're probably meant to see if I'm worth their time." The markings continued to glow.

"That's how you have such strength, Chronomon has combined a part of himself with you hasn't he?" I laughed slightly.

"No, these are simply markings that sealed my blood that Chronomon wrote but I can release the seal as I please. He warned me though to only use it when it was needed." The anomaly that I carried in my blood was something that even Chronomon didn't know how to explain.

"Aurvandil's Arrow!" My eyes widened.

It was sudden so I didn't have much time to react. It was an attack that was programmed never to miss. I closed my eyes and brought my hands up. It was a reaction by instinct. I heard something crack and I felt a sudden burst of energy, it knocked me back. I didn't hit a pillar but I did hit the ground and slid slightly when I landed.

"It missed its target?" I opened my eyes slightly when I came to a stop finally.

I hit one of the bookshelves but I didn't register the pain. I should've but the markings that had previously only let of a soft red glow was now giving off a violent glow. I felt it rushing within me and it reminded of the first time that I used it. I'll never forget the day.

"It never misses." When I placed a shaking hand on the ground I heard a thud.

It was then that I knew what happened. I watched as what remained of the metal cuffs faded away into data. That's what cracked, what had sent me flying. Yet it is also what saved me. I looked at her and I noticed the opening. It was something that if I didn't take I would probably not like the outcome of this battle. Instead of pushing myself up I held out my shaking hand.

For a second my eyes lingered on the symbol that was upon my hand. It was always there, it was there since I was a child but Chronomon did something so that it was hidden until I released whatever seal he had placed upon me. I didn't understand it and it annoyed me ever so slightly, he's hidden a part of me away. It reminded me of the sun.

"White Sun." A white circle appeared just a few centimeters away from my hand.

It was the only spell that had a name. It was something that I created and it has always had that name, ever since I first thought of it. Within the white circle a red sun appeared before it was dyed white, every time it happened I always thought of the words 'access granted' for some reason. It even refused to turn white once and I thought of the words 'access denied' at that time.

She never saw it coming until it was far too late. I don't know how she missed it but I swear seconds before the ball of white light hit her I saw her smile and mouth the words 'thank you good luck'. It struck her and grew bigger before collapsing in on itself and with a burst of hot air data was flung into the air. It was something akin to a black hole almost, an explosive black hole. It was as hot as the sun would be I imagine since I have never felt the sun's temperature obviously but it was hot enough that if I didn't launch it as quick as I could I usually burned myself.

"After this is all said and done, Chronomon owes me an explanation." I grumbled the words out as I forced myself up.

The cuts that I gained were already healing, whatever anomaly that was in my blood caused this to occur when I used it. It took a lot out of me once I replace the seal but it never seemed to bother me while I had the seal taken off. I looked at my hands and I remembered that Chronomon warned me never to have the seal off for longer than two hours. I wonder what would happen if I didn't replace it before two hours.

"I'll test it after the battle." I let my hands drop back to my side but I made my way from the cluttered part of the room.

It was something else that bothered me. My body didn't hurt at all; it's almost as if without the seal my body isn't weak at all. I don't understanding it but I wish I did. It should've hurt even if my body wasn't weak. I shook my head; I shouldn't question it and just be glad that I could act while I could. I looked at the screen and I smiled at the sight that I saw.

I knew she was struggling but it was a sight to see. There she stood using that strength she locked away. The normally white electricity was a pale blue. She's found her will to fight once again. She was guarding Koichi and the black fire that was trying to get past her shield was starting to burn out. Barbamon was left staring, surprised by what he was seeing.

"I may not be able to fight there by your side but there is something that I can manage." I held my hand out towards the screen.

The image flickered from that of their battle so a symbol of white and red appeared. Digital Script appeared and soon another symbol appeared. The white and red symbol was mine; it was the same as the circle that belonged to White Sun, a white circle that had a red sun within while the other was orange yet it too looked like a sun.

"There are those that support the Demon Lords that could be bothersome if allowed to do as they please." Once I knew the connection was established I grabbed the odd Digivice that belonged to me.

The screen disappeared and instead the two symbols were displayed on my Digivice. It was rectangular in shape. There were no buttons on mine like there were on some of the others that I have seen which have kind of confused me over the years. Around the screen there is a red wavy line, one on each side. That was on the top half while on the bottom half there were four parts that could open and each had a wavy line while at the center where the parts met there was a sun. Even knowing that the bottom part could open I have never seen it open and I didn't know what it would open to reveal.

As I waited for the connection to actually connect I left the room. It would take longer to connect to him than it normally would take me to connect to others. I haven't met him but I've simply heard stories of him and saw him when I checked in on that world. He didn't know me and I didn't know him. Hopefully he would accept what I would say and not brush me off. He might not trust me and choose to disregard what I say but I hope that he listens to me.

"Are they supposed to screech like that?" I paused and looked at my Digivice.

"That's a big no." He's with others.

I hope I won't cause him any trouble. I hadn't even thought of checking to make sure that he wasn't with people. It would be troublesome if I accidentally blew his cover of being a DigiDestined. Perhaps I should remember that I'm unique in the sense I'm the only DigiDestined that lives in the Digital World. At least out of all of the DigiDestineds that I know of they all live in the Human World around those that don't know about the Digital World.

"I'm not even going to touch it." Hearing that I lost it, I began laughing.

"W-who's laughing?" I placed a hand over mouth to try to muffle my laughter; at least I know they can hear me.

"Obviously we're not but we're alone, aren't we?" I calmed my laughter but a wide smile was on my face.

As I thought about scaring the crap out of whoever was all there I opened the door quietly. I watched the boy who lay on the bed, flickering around him were balls of white lights. They were the best I could manage as I was when I cast the spell, they were keeping him alive but that was about it. I felt my arm burn for some reason and it was then when I remember that I had the power to cast it better but I would have to let the seal remain off.

"I would hope so since I can't see anyone else!" I walked over to the bed and knelt beside it.

"I think I know what happened." It was the older voice, it sounded familiar but I couldn't place it.

Sitting my Digivice on the bed I reached out and brushed his hair away from his face. He was one of my best friends, he was might as well be my brother. He was one of the only humans I was completely comfortable around. Then again I trust Kari and Takuya but I barely know them. If I got to know them better I bet we could be really good friends.

"What happened?" I'm lucky I managed to pull him here and administer what I did when I did.

"Who are you and what do you want?" He must be a Former Runner.

"Who are you talking to?" I retracted my hand and I placed my hand on the crest that hung around my neck.

"My name is Chrono Aleksander; I'm working with Kari to defeat the Demon Lords." As I spoke I gripped the crest, I would have to borrow its power to accomplish what I wanted to do.

"Y-you work with Kari?" The voice, it was rushed and hopeful.

"Is she ok?" It must be her brother, his voice shook but I smiled.

"Kari's alive, she's in good hands." Despite the fact that she's supposed to be the key in fighting she hasn't found that will yet, she's not in that place yet.

(Tai's P.O.V)

Just hearing that put me at ease. Kari was alive and ok. I let out a sigh of relief and I tightened my grip on my Digivice and when I did that I realized that I was holding my Digivice. Hiro couldn't touch it but I could. I looked at it, it was still hot to the touch but it didn't seem to bother me.

"Wait, Aleksander?" I looked at Hiro when he said that.

His eyes were wide as if he knew the name. How would he know the name though? Was she from the world that he was living in or was she older that what she sounded like?

"Yes Aleksander why do you ask?" She seemed on guard suddenly, I don't know how I knew it just seemed like it.

"Oh uh nothing, I just remember hearing about my son talk about someone with the name 'Aleksander'. Do you know someone named Takuya Kanbara?" His son knows her then again that would make sense I guess, she did say she was working with Kari which would therefore mean Takuya as well.

"Oh, you're his dad? That's right; you're a Runner who crossed worlds and you're living outside of your world. You're Kari's uncle right?" I tensed.

How would she know that about him? As far as I knew no one knew that besides who he told and I highly doubt that he told her. Takuya didn't even know that he was Kari's cousin so how would she know?

"How do you know that? I haven't told anyone besides my sister, Tai, and Izzy that I even had a son let alone was a Runner." She laughed, it was soft and weak.

"Pardon me; I know more about the connections than the others know. I was raised by Chronomon, he taught me many things and since I was taken out of the fight due to certain reasons I fell back doing research. One of the things I looked into was the reasons we might've been pulled into the fight and I stumbled upon you being both Takuya's father and Kari's uncle along with the fact that you fought the Demon Lords the last time." She really does do research then.

"How did you research that? I've done research and I haven't been able to find anything." Izzy sounded annoyed slightly but I didn't know if it was because he didn't really trust her or because he couldn't find something when it came to technology but she could.

"I have access to things that only a Digital Ruler has access to along with the Runner Archives." Izzy could only access this world's stuff so maybe that's why she discovered more.

"Setting aside all that, I'll explain how she knows more than us later Izzy. What I want to know is why you reached out from wherever you are to us." In that moment Hiro's experience seemed to shine through, I could tell that he had been the leader of his group as well.

"I didn't reach out to you or Izzy, I reached out to Tai. I reached out to Kari's brother. You two just happen to be there." She wanted to talk to me?

"Why did you want to talk to me?" Was Kari not perfectly ok?

"I'm assuming here but from what I heard from Kari you're probably itching to do something to help Kari." How did she know?

"What can I do?" I cut Izzy and Hiro both off, they had been about to say something.

"Tai! How do you know that we can actually trust her?!" Izzy stood up but at the moment I was more focused on what I might be able to do for Kari.

"In a world that is known as the Dark Ocean, there is a Digimon named Dragomon, he's working with the Demon Lords. If you doubt that why do you think he dragged Kari into the Dark Ocean? He wanted kill Kari but he never succeeded." The Dark Ocean, so it does have a connection to the Demon Lords.

"Dragomon can't be working with the Demon Lords." I looked at Hiro but something didn't seem right with him.

"He is, I wish I could say he wasn't considering he was one of your friends wasn't he? He's the partner of the past DigiDestined of Light." My eyes widened hearing that.

That means that Skylar was the traitor doesn't it? Dragomon tried to kill Kari either way yet knowing that he is working with the Demon Lords brings him back to the front of my mind. I could manage that. With Agumon I could fight him but then again maybe I could get the others to fight too. I already know that Matt would be willing to help and with Agumon and Gabumon we could always have them become Omnimon if needed.

"He's doing it without Skylar knowing right? Skylar isn't the enemy. Even if he has that feel to him I know he can't be the enemy. Why would he join the people who killed the girl he liked?" He didn't want to believe what she was saying but I couldn't blame him, Skylar was one of his friends.

"How do you think Belphemon knew to attack them?" Her words chilled me.

Did he tell them about us? Is that why they attacked us? I thought for sure we could trust him, I mean yeah he was a bit suspicious but that was because I hadn't really known that there DigiDestineds before us. I didn't want to think that Belphemon attacked us because he told them.

"It can't be true." Even if he said that I think he knew it was.

"I wish I could tell you it wasn't but unless he has nothing against killing both Digimon and DigiDestined alike just to get at the Demon Lords then he's truly their ally." Hiro shut his eyes and sighed.

"I don't want to think that Skylar sunk to that level. Did Yune's death affect him that badly?" His voice shook and it sounded guilty almost.

"I don't know. That would be something that you would have to ask him." From what I had seen I couldn't really believe that Skylar was our enemy either but a part of me did.

"How did you know that Belphemon attacked us?" Izzy's sudden question brought up a good point, how would she know that Belphemon attacked us?

"Who do you think sent Spark to help you guys? She didn't just happen to wonder into your world, I was tracking them the best I could when he popped up in your world." She helped us then.

"Only Amaya manages to track them not to mention monitor worlds, contacting people in other worlds is rare and takes a lot to manage and maintain." I heard her sigh.

"Not to mention they would find out that you were tracking them easily." I heard her laugh once again.

"Oh you don't have to worry about that. They made a mistake. They aren't perfect after all." Hiro's eyes widened ever so slightly.

"They made a mistake? They don't make mistakes." He didn't seem like he wanted to believe her words but I noticed that Izzy seemed to calm slightly but he was still bothered by something.

"Yes but sadly I can't tell you more because I can't hold this connection any longer. I hope you consider my words but you can believe what you want to believe. I'll tell Kari that you guys are doing fine." I looked at my Digivice.

I caught sight of an odd symbol before it faded and it was back to normal. For some reason the symbol stood out, something about it was familiar. It had been a sun inside of a circle. It seemed familiar but I couldn't recall where I had seen it before.

So once again it's a bit touch and go. I realized something. I'm really insecure about writing fight scenes. I also feel like I almost rushed the end part and it lost sense for a few moments somewhere. Sorry if anyone got confused and if anyone did tell me and I'll work on it. Hope you enjoyed it. Have a good day/night.
