So, let's try this again. Know I am committed to posting this. Seriously. My internet is acting up and it seriously just booted me out of and would not let me post because it 'timed out'. So I had an Author's Note here explaining things but then it got deleted due to my crappy internet since I type Author's Notes here on before I post stories. So... what did I all say again? Oh yeah.
1.) I'm really commited to trying to get this out on time even though my internet is giving me the 'timed out' and 'error-no internet' messages at least ten times before it allows a page to load. [Even though I have internet and on a desktop that plugged into the internet. *insert confused angry face here*]
2.) Enjoy the chapter [hopefully and hopefully this gets posted in a timely manner] while please, leave a review because they seriousy do help me write faster and gets me motivated.
3.) Want to know why it takes me so long to get chapters out most of the time if I'm not busy and I actually write? The reason is that I write and proofread my own story so I edit it so I usually reread every chapter at least five times at different times with a nice gap in between so I can catch any mistakes [but things still slip past me as seen in the past]. Plus let's not forgot that things that I write will always make since to me so if things are confusing that's why, because I know what I mean so I don't notice those moments half time [so if you notice those moments please tell me how it could be changed and I'll to change it].
4.) Sorry if there are mistakes in this chapter since unlike usualy I did not spend the insanely long time rereading and correcting this chapter.
5.) Sorry, for the long Author's Note. Felt like I should share three and four with you before posting this tonight [hopefully].
Chapter Sixty Four: Situations [Pt. 2]
[Kari's P.O.V]
Koji and Takuya were also staring at Koichi. Unlike the three of us Tai and Davis didn't know how out of the norm that was for Koichi. Chrono only kind of knew him so she may or may not know that is out of the norm for Koichi. Daisuke though was more worried about watching Davis in case he tried to pounce on him again. Storm didn't move somewhat being held up by Koji and Takuya but from how her hands shook told me that she was trying her best not to attack Davis.
"Well, that escalated quickly." I looked to Nori, she had bent down beside Daisuke and she did something surprised everyone, it also managed to get rid of the tension.
Daisuke flushed red and he looked so uncomfortable suddenly. Nori had bent down and wrapped her arms around his shoulders; his head was practically rested on her chest. Daisuke's flushed face was enough to make Davis laugh. Daisuke shot Davis a glare but it was ineffective due to how badly he was blushing.
"Why don't we all calm down a little? Sometimes things aren't always what they seem." Nori smiled and when Daisuke tried to move she dug her fingers into his arm which made him stop.
"I'm Noriko Izumi; though I'd rather you call me Nori. Daisuke and I are childhood friends, we only had each other mostly growing up so when the Demon Lords kidnapped me and threatened to kill me Daisuke went along with them to save my life. Daisuke never would've done half of what he did had it not been in the name of saving my life. If anyone should be blamed then it's not Daisuke, it should be me since I was the reason that Daisuke did what he did." Davis wiped a bit of blood off of his face since he had bit his lip when he got punched by Koichi.
"Why is he here Kari?" I wasn't surprised that Davis kind of ignored them and just asked me.
"Daisuke actually is part of the group; he's going to help us take down the Demon Lords. He betrayed the Demon Lords and is now working with." Davis gave me a look.
"I trust him because he fought Belphemon with us Davis; he helped saved my life at least once in that battle." Davis sighed and looked away, he glared at the wall.
"How is it that I'm friends with Kari but you aren't then Daisuke?" The question surprised me slightly since I hadn't expected that would be the first question while Daisuke laughed rather darkly.
"The Kari of my world died, she got to sick and died. We met one day, she promised to be my friend and be by my side. She broke that promise the same day because she went and died. That didn't help the view of me being a demon child any. I used to be a sickly child growing up and everyone blamed me for Kari's death." Daisuke was now pretty much leaning on Nori and I noticed he seemed far calmer than I've ever seen him even though he sounded kind of angry.
"I guess that plays a part in how bad I harassed her maybe, saw that it was going to happen all over again here in this world. I wanted to save my other version the pain of becoming her friend only to lose her, being forced to watch a friend die really isn't a pleasant thing." I wasn't sure how to feel about that statement.
"Is he part of the twisted prophecy that Rin told Ken, Matt, and I yesterday?" Davis's question caught us all off guard.
"She knows the prophecy?" Rin shouldn't know it because of the fact that no one here knew it, well if Storm was correct then Chrono and Evan knew.
"There weren't any Digital Rulers besides Chronomon and Gallantmon that even knew the actual prophecy. There is no way that Rin would know besides perhaps if her partner told her." I jumped slightly and looked to Evan, he was awake now.
"Her partner didn't know the prophecy actually; he forgot most things when he got reformed and if he had asked about it they would've known that something was up since memories are only lost if data is corrupted or purified during the reformation process. He knew about Rin though, that part of the prophecy stuck in his head probably thanks to being Rin's partner." Daisuke's input further stumped me.
"Rin said she learned it from a library." What library would have the prophecy in it?
"What!?" I looked at Tai when he practically yelled that.
"There's only one library that would have information. Izzy and Ken had questioned Gennai that day thoroughly and he made it clear that only the Millennium Library would have any information on the Demon Lords and anything pertaining to the Demon Lords." Why was Tai freaking out?
"Eh, didn't Gennai say that place was only a legend and that no one was supposed to be able to go there?" Davis's confused statement made it clear why everyone was stunned and surprised now.
"Rin's seen the inside of that library? That library has been sealed for centuries. There is no way that she shouldn't been able to get in yet I'm not going to say she lied because in this battle with the Demon Lords that library might've opened a small gate in and wanted to help out. The Demon Lords rose to power because they abused the information within that library and because of them that library was sealed off and has been off the grid since." Chrono spoke but her voice was so low, there was a certain edge to it now.
"What was the prophecy she told you guys?" Davis scratched his head.
"What as it again? It spoke about a battle that happened in the past but it wasn't really worth anything but it granted a bit of peace." Davis paused but I noticed the surprised look that was on Evan.
"After that I think elements or something, probably DigiDestined titles if I think about it. After that it talked about some horrible shit that had to happen just to get people together that would have to fight to 'open the future'. There was also a part about 'Order' falling and that being the tipping point." That meant that Evan was supposed to die.
"Then another part but I forgot but it did say something about a one sided war getting the tables turned with a mistake or something but I can't remember the rest. Right around then was when Rin mentioned that she wasn't the only one back and that everyone else was back. I stopped paying attention after that and I had intended to come straight here then but that didn't work out." Davis still seemed bother but I saw something slowly change on his face.
"Davis?" He looked at me suddenly and that's why I had called his name.
"Those horrible things, did they really apply?" I bit my lip because that technically wasn't just my place to say.
Even if Davis would have no way of knowing what fit who it wasn't right to do. I wanted to tell him because he was one of my best friends but at the same time I don't think that would be fair. For example with Storm and Evan they hadn't opened up about their past towards Davis like Daisuke had. Storm and Evan didn't even seem to want Koichi to know and they've known him for years now.
"Depends upon what 'horrible things' you're referencing." Evan had now stood and walked towards us, Storm was on her own two feet but she was giving Davis a look that promised that if he tried to hit her again she'd hit them back.
"Secrets from the past, hunted since a child, torn apart, losing everything, isolation then being evil and even abuse." He really had heard the prophecy which means that Rin really did know it but the how she knew it was a question and the reason she gave might be questionable.
"Rin really does know the prophecy." Chrono gave the answer that Davis wanted but I knew his next question.
"Who fits what then?" I was surprised by the question.
"Does it matter? All you need to know is the fact that we're all working together now because we were all cursed by whoever the hell makes up these forsaken prophecies." Daisuke's somewhat 'kind' side was gone when he practically hissed the words out.
"Shut up! No one was asking you so butt out!" Daisuke stood up, Nori who had let him go at some point only sighed.
"Yeah well get over it because you might as well have been asking me since I'm thrown into that forsaken prophecy!" Davis stood up but Tai being who he was stood in between them even though he probably should've learned his lesson last time.
"I don't care about you though since for all I care you could die!" I was surprised because over the years I've known Davis he has never said anything like that and seriously meant it.
"You two stop! We don't need to be fighting!" Even Tai flinched when both Daisuke and Davis glared at him, oh there angry looks could pass them as twins, which in truth they might as well be twins.
"I don't even know why he's here!" Davis raised his arm probably about to punch Daisuke but I grabbed his arm.
"I told Daisuke to stay Davis. Right now, I've chosen to set the past aside. After this is all said and down we can handle the past because right now we all need to focus on what's going on. Right Daisuke?" I looked at Daisuke and he sighed but nodded, he looked away from me though.
"I knew it would've been easier if I had just left. If I wasn't here none of this would've happened, you know, I don't belong here. I don't have much of a place to belong anymore actually. It would be better for everyone here if I left, I'd fight but it would be better if I just came and went; staying only when I needed to." Nori glared at him and I was going to comment but Storm wacked him upside of his head suddenly, surprising everyone.
"How about this, let's pretend we're all meeting Daisuke for the first time. We met Daisuke Motomiya, lackey of the Demon Lord of Wrath aka Daemon. That Daisuke was cruel, abusive, cold, egotistical, and he would laugh at others pain. Yet this Daisuke in front of us here isn't that now is he?" Storm surprised me, there was clearly past between her and Daisuke while it also showed through before the Belphemon fight that whatever happened between them was far from pleasant if his comment about his skull being bashed in was anything to go by.
"I still don't get why you're helping me after I stood back and let Takeru beat you so badly you were put into the hospital, to the point that you still have a scar from how badly he beat you." I was surprised to hear that and Storm's eye twitched slightly.
"Daisuke, you know our past and you could probably understand it better than the others. Storm like you is a master at bottling things when it comes to certain things." Evan's words seemed edged with ice slightly.
"Besides, it's not like I don't have other scars." I remember her referencing a scar of some sorts back when we were in the Dark Ocean.
"I was asked to help you out by the people who considered you their friend but you don't consider them your friends in fear they'd be targeted by the Demon Lords as well. I had promised to help their dear conflicted friend at the time unknowing that you were their friend." This was starting to get awkward.
Koji was silent but that wasn't completely unusual yet Takuya being as quiet as he was is unusual. The fact that Takuya was being so quiet surprised me and I'm a bit surprised he hadn't even joined in with Davis earlier and tried to double team Daisuke. Koichi wouldn't look up from the floor and I was noticing how tense he was now. What was wrong with Koichi? Something was wrong with Chrono too. I had thought that they might be a bit happier after defeating Belphemon but I guess the situation could dampen that some.
"You must really be honor bound if you're carrying out that promise after everything." Storm shrugged while Evan cracked a smile.
"Storm is loyalty after all Daisuke, why are you so surprised that Storm stays true to her promise?" Koichi's voice seemed to break some of the tension for some reason but I saw something flash across Davis's face.
"We got an issue!" I jumped and looked behind me.
The door had slammed open. Everyone had jumped the moment that the door had slammed into the wall. Wizardmon stood there with Salamon in his arms. When did Gatomon's egg hatch? Let alone when did she Digivolve?
"What's going on?" I was actually trying to figure out where they had been.
"We had gone with Hiro to check something out. Hiro and Kari's mother got caught, we would've done something but Hiro figured that we should leave and tell you guys." I curled my hand into a fist hearing that.
"Who did it?" Takuya's pissed now.
"He called the guy 'Skylar'." Great, we have to deal with humans.
"Skylar Hallows, he had pretended to be helping us while in truth he had been using us as a means of keeping us busy and making sure that we wouldn't find any way to get the information we gathered to Kari and them." I looked at Tai and he gave a tight smile.
"What? Thought that I would just let you go out on this unknown trip with no research? Yeah sure maybe this time I can't protect you like I had before but I'm gonna try. I had been working with Izzy and Ken to figure out as much as we could after we learned about what was going on and what you got yourself into." I shook my head and looked away.
"He works with the Demon Lords by the way so this is bound to be a trap, so if we walk into this willingly then we should be prepared for what else will come with walking into the trap." Daisuke's words rubbed me the wrong way.
"What, you think we should just leave our parents hanging and in their clutches then?" Takuya's anger flared once more.
"Daisuke's right Takuya, no matter how much I hate to agree with him. It's too perfect for it not to be a trap, especially since Wizardmon and Salamon escaped unharmed. They were meant to come and tell us." I was stunned by Evan's words because it was one thing for them to say it's a trap but to expect us to leave them there was another.
"We go there then we're stuck playing by their rules. Don't get me wrong, I understand where you're coming from but at the same time it screams trap and with the Demon Lords it might be screaming death trap." I couldn't leave my mother there.
"So the four of us will go." I looked at Davis confused but he was smiling.
"Kari, Tai, Takuya and I will go then. With Koromon, Salamon, Wizardmon, Veemon and whoever Takuya's partner is we'll go and get back Hiro and Kari's mother." Davis sounded so confident while Takuya smirked.
"What do you two say? I'm game for Davis's plan." A part of me screamed not to but I couldn't just leave them there captured.
"Let's do it then." Storm seemed surprised while I noticed the small proud smile that Daisuke had before he turned away.
"Just know that anything can happen." Dare I say that Daisuke sounded the slightest bit encouraging?
"You guys got to be crazy! You guys are willingly walking straight into a trap; you don't know what'll happen when it gets sprung." Evan was baffled but still tried to get us to change our minds.
"Yeah well would you leave your mother or father left in the clutches of the enemy when they could be killed or used to manipulate you?" Evan's face hardened, hearing that come from Davis and from that and Storm's reaction I knew he shouldn't have said that.
"Don't know, my mother died when I was born and I never knew who my father was." Evan hissed the words and Davis stepped back holding his hands up.
"Sorry, didn't know that." He seemed nervous but Evan shook his head.
"Fine, go right ahead but don't be surprised when that foolish hope you have gets snatch from you right in front of your eyes." Evan's words were harsh but knowing what I did about their past I knew that perhaps he hadn't exactly meant to be entirely mean but that might've been his final warning.
