Ok, Saturaday was Halloween and I was helping with a Halloween Party. While on Sunday I had a whole bunch of make up work and a project to complete whiel yesterday my internet was out until after I went to sleep. So, does my reasons always sound like excuses? I just feel like I owe it to you guys to tell you why I didn't update. So, here's the chapter!
Chapter Sixty Six: Situations [Pt. 4]
[Kari's P.O.V]
Even when the numbers of the shadow like Digimon increased I didn't feel that intimidated. Last time I had felt intimidated because of the state we were in but it was different now. This time Gatomon could Digivolve and there wasn't only one person fight. I felt more in my comfort zone as well this time because I have both Tai and Davis working with me. I've fought alongside of them more than I've fought alongside of the others. Agumon and Veemon were a bit more familiar than the Spirit Evolutions.
"Why aren't they attacking us?" I was surprised that the shadows hadn't come at us; Davis was more interested in cheering than the fact that we weren't being attacked though so he might've not noticed but I noticed that Tai just grinned while seeming so relaxed.
"Nori said she had our backs didn't she? She mentioned being able to use 'illusions', as much as they can tell probably is that there are Digimon here but probably can't see us." I looked at Nori but she laughed.
"You can trick that many things?" She shrugged.
"They have minimal intelligence, they couldn't be made too smart or they might rebel against their creators. They're just artificial lifeforms pretty much that can be ordered around and left to do the dirty work. It's not that hard to trick something that doesn't even do its own thinking. If all of these things were actual Digimon then it would be a different story." I looked back to the Mock Digimon and since she said that I could see it, they all moved about the same and they used overly simple tactics while moves were preregistered and they didn't react all that well.
"That explains why you hadn't used it on Belphemon then." Koji's comment showed that for a moment he thought that perhaps she hadn't done everything that she could've.
"I did to a degree, I managed to keep Belphemon's attention split and did my best to manipulate what he saw so he saw at least double. With his size it didn't do much but it did enough I think since quite a few fatal hits were avoided." Is that why he seemed to miss us more often than not during that fight?
"Though, don't expect that with the other Demon Lords. None of the other Demon Lords will fall for the same trick since they are a bit brighter than Belphemon plus I will probably become a target myself if they figure out what I can do." I jumped back and would've fallen but Koji caught my arm which kept me from falling to the ground.
"Veemon!" Daisuke went to Veemon's side; Veemon had gotten smacked so hard that he had been expelled from his Armor Digivolution.
"I'm good, I just didn't expect that." Veemon pointed and I froze.
I stared at the shadow like Digimon that now stood in between us and the entrance. The Mock Digimon had its hand held out with its palm upwards, a familiar red haired male sat in the palm of the Mock Digimon. The other Mock Digimon had stilled and no longer fought our partners but our partners stared at the same Mock Digimon we stared at it. As far as I can tell the Mock Digimon are as strong as the real versions so this wasn't good.
"I thought it was far too odd that there were three Digimon fighting with no partners present. One of your people can cause a one way barrier to appear, you can see out but no one can see in besides perhaps the one who created said barrier." This isn't good.
"Omni, mind opening up the pathetic barrier?" I watched practically in horror as the Mock Omnimon raised the sword and I knew what was coming.
"This really isn't good." I heard someone sighed but then I saw a burst of fire rush past me.
"Takuya!" He would be the only one who would charge out there.
"Actually, that's not me." I jumped and looked behind me, Takuya stood there looking between amused and bothered.
"That means, Nori!" Tai shouted it that time but it was a bit late because the red haired male had already noticed her.
The Mock Digimon went at her but when one hit her she vanished. She was nowhere to be seen but then Wizardmon who had previously stood in the front was gone as well. Wizardmon hadn't join the fight since he had silently volunteered to stay and stop any of them should they have gotten to close. Yet the fact he was missing surprised me slightly.
"Magical Game!" The red haired male shrieked as he was flung through the air.
The guy hadn't been too far off the ground but when he hit the ground it still must've hurt. I was a bit surprised that Wizardmon had done that though yet when the dust cleared it was revealed he hadn't slammed into the ground. The guy was stuck inside of a prison made from flames and was barely suspended away from the flames. Nori appeared in front of the cage with her hand held outwards; her hand had veins of red but the veins more looked like some kind of electronic vein that gave off flickers of red lights.
"Celestial Arrow!" Gatomon was quick to shoot down the Mock Digimon that had been able to attack Nori.
"Kill them Omni!" The fake Omnimon started to swing his blade; this wasn't going to end well.
"Terra Force!" I watched as the sword that was coming at us was hit by the ball of fire.
I was a bit surprised to see that WarGreymon's Terra Force managed to knock 'Omni' backwards and off of its feet. The ground shook from it falling and more of the fake Digimon appeared. This really was starting to get old. There were so many of these fake Digimon that this could go on for forever. The only issue with that was that we would run out of strength eventually where as these fake Digimon probably wouldn't.
"Kill them I said!" The fake Digimon seemed to lose the Digimon shape and turned into shadows.
"This probably isn't good if Nori's very first 'illusion' I saw is anything to go judge by." There was thousands of shadow like needle spears pointed at us.
"Brave Shield!" WarGreymon barely had his shield out when some came shooting at us; the shield managed to block them but WarGreymon was being driven backwards which wasn't a good sign.
"Wing Blade!" My eyes widened by slowly a smile started to spread across my face when I heard that.
"Gate of Destiny!" The gate appeared in front of WarGreymon so now the spears of shadows were disappearing into where that gate led.
"Kari!" I stumbled slightly but I laughed slightly and glanced at Mimi who appeared from nowhere, I didn't even get a chance to ask where Palmon was before the question was answered for me.
"Flower Cannon!" I could see that the shadows had gone back to a Digimon form.
"How'd you guys know we were here let alone what was going on?" Tai was surprised but so was I even though the group did tend to pop up when you least expected them.
"I went and got them." I looked at Wizardmon who was standing beside T.K., T.K. wouldn't look at me though.
Yet at the moment I wasn't worried about T.K. I looked from the Wizardmon beside T.K. to the Wizardmon that was now fighting the massive number of Mock Digimon. I wasn't sure how no one was seeing all of this but perhaps that explained why since a while ago Nori got an odd look on her face. I looked from the Wizardmon that was fighting to the Wizardmon beside T.K. Why are there two different Wizardmons?
"I know that the group that you fought Belphemon with wouldn't largely help probably because right now they all have things they have to deal with before another major battle comes up. I figured you guys would need backup." Wizardmon was smiling but I was trying to figure out why there two different Wizardmons.
"Why are there two Wizardmons?" Davis asked the question that I couldn't find the words to get out.
"Well apparently the one with you guys is someone's partner and he volunteered to help while the Wizardmon we knew would gather us." I looked to Joe who had snuck up behind us, Sora stood beside him.
Out of the first group of DigiDestineds I was a part of here the only missing people were Matt and Izzy. Matt was with Rin more than likely but Izzy I didn't know where he would be unless he's still with Matt and his parallel. Joe's words bounced in my head though. Who was partnered with Wizardmon?
"You people just crawl out of the woodwork too much!" The red haired male got out of the cage when a Mock Digimon managed to get through the fray and hit Nori away but Nori didn't seem too hurt.
"Vulcan's Hammer!" I nearly fell when the ground shuttered slightly when Zudomon attacked; well that explains why I thought I saw Gomamon slip into the fray before Digivolving.
"So this is your group?" I glanced at Koji when he asked the question; he was looking over the chaos in front of us.
"More or less." I stopped when I saw suddenly all of the Digimon get flung through the air; no matter the form they reverted back to Rookie when they were flung through the air.
"Alright, you people pissed me off! I expected that the only group I'd have to worry about would be the stupid group that beat the meat for brains!" The red haired male gave off a vile light, something glowed on his body and I got sickening feeling.
"His light's tainted." Koji and I said it at the same time, confusing everyone but Tai looked annoyed as well.
"He did claim to be the former DigiDestined of Light for this world before Kari." I gripped my D3.
The change of my D3 was still in my head as well, something was different about it but I couldn't tell what it was yet. Well obviously the appearance was different; I hadn't truly looked at it after the Belphemon fight before the start of this battle. It was pretty much the same but the ring that had the arrow buttons was half black and half white. Inside of that ring was a yin-yang sign as well while above the ring and below the screen was what they called the Digital Hazard Symbol for some reason.
"I will not allow this chance to pass me up. Gate: Open!" My eyes widened when he had thrust his hand open, red light poured form something on his wrist while a massive gate opened.
"You actually have worthy opponents for me this time." I took a step back, fear shot through my body.
I stared at the massive Digimon, this one was real. The Digimon was a red dragon but it had wings that were far too big for his body. The lance he had was enough to easily run at least three Digimon through with all at once. Something about this Digimon made a part of me scream run away. Belphemon had given me the same sensation but that was understandable. Belphemon was a Demon Lord after all.
"Examon, the Royal Knight that now sides with the Demon Lords." Nori appeared in front of us, the second Wizardmon stood by her side.
"Get out of here now!" The second Wizardmon sounded demanding but scared at the same time for some reason.
"Examon isn't someone we can fight! He is someone that stands close in power if not on the same level as the Demon Lords thanks to the things he can do!" I took another step back but my shoulder was grabbed.
"Calm down Kari, he isn't as scary as Belphemon." Koji's words were low, low enough to the point that I bet only I heard him.
"Virus Shell." The attack came at us faster than I expected.
"Thunder Ball!" The Wizardmon that stood beside Nori threw the ball and surprisingly it seemed to slow it for a second.
"Vision of Terror! Thunder Squall!" The first attacked dazed Examon while the second interfered with 'Virus Shell'.
Examon's attack slammed into the ground in front of us and exploded. We were flung backwards and I heard the crude laughter from Examon. My ears rung slightly and when I managed to get to my knees and looked at where his attack hit I froze. The crater was massive and it looked like the ground was being eaten away. That attack probably would've killed us, no there was no probably to it. This was a real battle, a battle that might claim a life if not fought carefully.
"Who are you? If you can manage to do enough to knock it off course as a Champion then you aren't just a plain Digimon." Examon had his spear pointed at Wizardmon; even if the two Wizardmons looked the same the difference was that the Wizardmon I knew from the past had protected Salamon since she had been by him.
"Our turn now." I looked at Takuya.
"You gotta be crazy!" Even Tai thought Takuya was crazy for wanting to face him.
"We beat Belphemon so we know it's possible to beat him too, besides he's not going to let us escape. We fight or die trying to run away." Koji had managed to get to his feet as he spoke and he pulled out his D Tector.
"Guess it's time we show off what we've managed to pick up then." I looked to Sora who was a little shaky but managed to find her strength to stand.
"We aren't going to just sit back and let you guys do all the fighting." Mimi, despite being the kind of person she was in the past had stood up.
"What are you guys talking about?" I was glad that Tai was confused as well and it wasn't just me.
"Virus Shell!" The attack came once more but there was no way that the second Wizardmon could let us avoid it again.
"Spirit Evolution!" Takuya and Koji both yelled it pretty much, drawing my group's attention to them.
"Shining Gold Solar Storm!" The attack surprised me and 'Virus Shell' vanished but I stared at Magnamon that appeared.
"Haha, take that! I got the Digi Egg of Miracles back!" Davis was practically cheering, he had lost the Digi Egg of Miracle a while back well he was told he would never be able to use it again.
"Shine/Flare!" Koji and Takuya emerged as their upgraded forms.
"They're Digimon!" Davis shouted it pointing at them.
"They've gone and upstaged us, Palmon! Time to show 'em what we can do now!" I looked at Mimi but she had raised her Digivice; her Digivice turned green and glowed while her crest also appeared glowing over her heart.
"Palmon Warp Digivolve to Rosemon!" My eyes widened, Palmon could access Mega Level now?!
"Biyomon/Gomamon!" Wait, did they all manage to get access to Mega Level?
"Warp Digivolve to Hououmon/Vikemon!" When did they gain access to Mega Level?
"Kari, are you ok?" I looked to Patamon that stood in front of me.
"Why wouldn't I be?" When I heard a sigh I looked, it was T.K.
"You're hurt Kari." He had swiped a finger over his forehead so I touched my forehead before flinching; there was a cut on my forehead.
"Let's do it!" Davis shouted it just as Examon fired off multiple shots, he didn't say what they were this time so it was a scary thought.
